Summary
Team Snakemouth may have found all the artifacts, may have braved through the Deadlands, and may have won the Wasp King in their second encounter until he dirtily threw a grenade at them and rushed to the Everlasting Sapling.
Yet when the Wasp King opened its container and saw the Sapling's luxuriant, majestous visage, and in front of their eyes consumed several of its leaves, and burnt it down before they could even think about using its power, all three of them could feel none of their previous feats would mean anything compared to this.

Summary
This fic is about an AU where Team Snakemouth act in a far more selfish and ruthless manner, causing an entirely different timeline of events to unfold. Three years later, the remaining explorers tell the story of what happened, but the cannot live in the past forever. Plenty of major character deaths and graphic violence ahead so be warned.
