Summary
Tim and the rest of the Young Justice team have escaped to the League of Assassins, but their problems are far from over. The JL is still hunting them for going rogue, and with Bruce confined to a civilian life he has a lot of free time on his hands. Meanwhile the Batgirls, Duke, and Jason are still struggling to bring Gotham back under control after Batman’s fall from grace. At the same time Dick is struggling to protect Damian from all of the turmoil around them.

See, here’s the thing: Duke isn’t ignorant about his place in the family. There's too much history between everyone for them to possibly consider the guy who's been around for a couple of months, at the longest, as a priority.
If there are other options, he’s never going to be anybody’s first pick. It’s upsetting, but it is what it is.
That is, of course, unless they run out of other options completely.

Duke was panicking.
Not because of any imminent threat or anything, but because he knew that he had to introduce his boyfriend to his family. Sooner rather than later, as you can’t really keep secrets in this family. Truly, it is a miracle that he has kept his relationship a secret for 9 months now. And while he knew none of his family were homophobic, he feared that they would disapprove of Al or that Al would leave him if he found out that Duke was a Bat like the rest of his family. Thinking about it, did he really have to tell them? Seeing as everything was alright right now, why would he do something that could possibly destroy the peace? Maybe he could continue to hide his relationship from his family.

That was the point. Duke had never been a quiet guy. People thought so because his anger never showed. Duke, however, always felt angry. Because life was so fucking unfair.

Movie night in Wayne Manor is a common occurance. Normally, the movies range from cute animated films to live action thrillers, but on one particular occasion, National Treasure was the movie of choice. And showing National Treasure to a bunch of highly trained vigilantes with very little impulse control, extreme capabilities, and no collective braincells who are prone to boredom, is, of course, a mistake.
Or, how the batkids became international criminals, committed multiple counts of treason, discovered the existence of a couple of cults, took over an entire country, kidnapped a very important government official, were hunted down by both the Justice League and Interpol, fought cthulhu monsters, made Talia al Ghul laugh, and nearly gave Bruce an aneurysm. Not necessarily in that order.
All because they wanted to prove National Treasure wrong.

This is how it was: The Bat-Family was following some amateur magicians, they divided into groups to occupy more ground (The groups were: Batman; Red Hood; Red Robin and Robin. Nightwing; black bat and spoiler. Batwing and Batwoman. All directed by Oracle). But the group led by Batman was hit by a spell in which the affected person could not move or get up, only the father could lift him. The problem came when Bruce couldn't lift Damian.

The Waynes have been killed, and Owlman—AKA Dick Grayson—is going to get justice for the orphaned boy they left behind. But the problem with your parents being murdered when you're so young, as Dick very well knows, is it's nearly impossible to go on and live a normal life after the deaths. Luckily, Bruce isn't the first kid Dick would bring into the vigilante fold.
But there are forces moving in Gotham, and now might not be the safest time for an untrained boy to be pulled into this world. Then again, it might not be safe for anyone else, either.
