Summary
The Avgins were a race of humanoid avians. Most of them had plain grey-brownish wings, just like their hair and eyes. Since the entire race except for one person was wiped out, not much information is known. There are no scripts of the Avgins themselves, a pretty primitive and secluded civilization, and their sole survivor does not talk, does not open up about his people.
During the period the civilization was still there, scientists did record some things. Just cold, unfeeling words, not capturing the culture of what was once a proud avian race.Ratio does his hardest best to find information, but even with access to virtually all data ever, there is just so little. It simply does not exist. But here is what he knows:
1: Aventurine is the only survivor of the Avgin people
2: Avgins were known to have wings
3: Aventurine does not show having wingsWhy? Ratio does not ask. He will not ask, unless Aventurine brings it up himself. But he can’t help but wonder. Breaking the topic might bring up some bad past experiences, and considering the few things he knows about Aventurine’s past, it won’t be anything pleasant.

She’s goading him, taunting, pulling him towards something promising, indiscernible to himself. She’s similar to Grian in that way. Her smile is sharp when she speaks. “Go big or go home, am I right?”
And Scar can tell she says it on purpose, he can see the smugness in the way her lips tilt up, he can see the satisfaction in her eyes. She knows she had him trapped before she even spoke.
He decides, quite easily, that if he is willing to do this for Grian, then he is also willing to do this for Pearl.
Or, Scar finds himself wrapped up in centuries-old customs that are much larger than himself. No one is surprised when he stumbles into love.

Summary
Being back on Hermitcraft was exciting, Grian tried to reason. His little girl could finally get to meet the people he cared most about. But, that also meant that she was going to meet Scar. Despite all the prying and willing for some spark of recognition, nobody else could seem to remember the weeks away in that horrible game. The only proof that they weren't some figment of Grian's imagination was the baby snuggled close to Grian's chest. Knowing that Scar could be staring his baby right in the face and wouldn't know she was his brought too many emotions to Grian's head all at once, and he wasn't sure he was ready to deal with the interaction he'd been envisioning for so many months.

tldr; Grian got pregnant after he and Scar do a little more than team up on Monopoly Mountain. Too bad only the winners of the life games seem to remember what happened in any of them. -

Some classic end of third life angst adding in some silly little lore around Scar being half-elf and Grian being born an Avian :) I might make an expanded universe to dig deeper in my ideas but it would all be one shots.
"At first none of it really felt real. Hadn’t really set in. He really should have known better honestly, the watchers wouldn’t have let that last. He knew better! It was just, too easy to get swept up in seeing old friends again. Talking to family he hadn’t seen in a while. The jokes and lightness of a green life let him rest easy, until the smell of burning flesh hit his nose. Ringing ears as he scrambled to meet Scar. It was just meant to be a silly prank, but now his friend's beautiful green eyes were yellow. Everything was suddenly real. He was quick to make a deal, a life for a life."
