    Star River is an ongoing dark fantasy romance story with a focus on alchemy and humanity.

    Edit: After some time I feel the need to specify this is “dark, fantasy, romance” not a dark romance as in smut, there is no smut in this story.

    "The spirit of a mineral, plant, or animal, may begin to form here, and reach its final development millions of ages hereafter, on other planets, known or unknown, visible or invisible to astronomers. For, who is able to controvert the theory previously suggested, that the earth itself will, like the living creatures to which it has given birth, ultimately, and after passing through its own stage of death and dissolution, become an etherealised astral planet?     Centuries after the departure of the Elves, the slumber of the Dwarves and Ents, and the fading of magic, Men rule Middle-earth, their empires built on technology and industry, their civilizations advanced as they developed their own philosophies, laws, and politics. While the truths of the ancient ages have been long forgotten, the Valar, ever-watchful from Aman prepare themselves, executing efforts unknown to the people who now "rule" over Arda, seemingly unchallenged, for the shadow of Morgoth stirs beyond the Void and when he regains his full power, the End begins.

    The prophesied Dagor Dagorath will come—the Last Battle that will devastate Arda so it may be made anew by the Second Music of the Ainur. Centuries have passed, but the peace that has settled will soon end as the forces of light and darkness will clash for the fate of Arda.     I am no longer the sailor lighting the way for my boat on a cloudy night. I am the lightning bug trapped inside a lantern, shining alone.

    …this is not my Vingilot.

    Eärendil takes Vingilot into the Timeless Void on his nightly journey, like always. He is careful, like always, to steer clear of the things he knows lurk in the deep darkness of that endless place. He is not careful enough, and when he returns at dawn he finds himself on a ship from another world that resembles his own only in name.

    1. "Aratar" - just emblems for the eight most powerful of the Valar.
    2. "Where's Ossë?" - a picture/poem suggesting that Wally the Walrus, the somewhat lost and mischievous walrus that had been hanging around the UK a lot this year, might actually be Ossë, Ulmo's chaotic Maia.

    3. "Losing Something (or Someone) Precious" (a tribute to Fiondil's "Losing Something Precious", though knowledge of that ficlet is not needed to enjoy the art, hopefully. Do highly recommend though.)
    4. "Elwing and the Silmaril" - Seagull Elwing flies toward Vingilot on a full moon night, the Nauglamir and Silmaril around her neck. Those are the sails of silver. I cannot draw sails. Oh well. :)
