Summary
It's only when Quackity waves his own magic upon Tommy—a thin veil, barely discernible to the naked eye—when there’s a reaction. Tommy hisses, his fur bristling, Techno’s grip tightening, Phil and Wilbur moving forward but Quackity is already moving back and Tommy’s hiss is nothing but an echo.
“It’s a spell, not a curse,” Quackity tells them, which should’ve been good news, because spells are easier to break than curses. At the very least all they would need to do is kill the caster. Except that’s the point, because the mage is already dead and yet Tommy is still a racoon.Or: Tommy is a feral boy and a magic encounter makes him just as feral as a Racoon.

Wilbur lifts his nose and turns towards the door. The frame is slanted and the door is only being held by its upper hinges, leaving a crooked rectangular hole looking out into the dark rain-washed fields and forest that surrounds the dilapidated house. Cracks of lightning give brief glimpses of the outside world, and the approaching stumbling of something. Wilbur feels his hunger warm the back of his throat. It’s been too long since he hunted anything and the thought of being able to sink his teeth into meat entices him—
It’s a child.
Or: Wilbur is sulking in the woods when Tommy stumbles his way into his life.
