Summary
Percival didn't have time for a mate, despite his mother's increasingly desperate pleas. He had a country to defend, which was no easy task. Besides, he was certain there wasn't an omega in existence that could meet his requirements of a mate. It was too much to ask. A string of lovers would have to do for his more base needs and everything else was just fine.
That was until a soft, freckled, curly-haired creature fell into his office with a briefcase of illegal beasts clutched in his hands.

Newt tugged his mother’s arm.
“How many…” The words died in his mouth, and he had to take a few seconds before trying again. “How many alphas have come?”
“Twenty-two,” his mother replied. “Eleven unmated, plus the five suitors.”

After Newt goes into a surprise heat, presenting as an omega, his parents throw him his very own presentation party. With all the traditions it comes with.

The man regards him with disdain, running a clinical gaze up and down his body. Percival feels the futile urge to cover up.
“Newt and his tastes,” the man mutters. “Bring him in.”
They leave the room before Percival can hear the guard's response, and he's left alone again. He jerks his cuffs , firmer than before, but they stay stubbornly attached to the bed frame. The door opens for the third time and before Percival can open his mouth, his senses get inundated by the sweetest scent he’s ever smelled.
A boy is guided into the room by guards, hands bound behind his back, eyes glassy, and Percival realizes with a start that the boy’s in heat.

“I-I prefer Newt.” The man searches his face for a moment, places a thumb on Newt's lip. Presses it a bit and runs it from one side to another, feeling the softness before letting it go. He leans back a touch.
“Are you sixteen yet, Newt?” the man repeats.
Newt meets a very friendly guest at his family's New Year's Eve party. One that puts a few too many drinks on his hands and generously offers his guidance in demonstrating an omega's purpose in society.
