Den City was supposed to be an escape for Yuma.
It wasn't his fault his heart hurt whenever he looked at his friends, at places important to them, at the Key around his neck. It wasn't his fault he felt so alone when half of his soul was far away in another World. It wasn't anyone's fault but a god dead for almost four years now. He wasn't running away. But when Kaito gave him a chance to leave for a while and heal, Yuma jumped at it like the lifeline it was.
It came with a string attached, but Yuma didn't care. He could handle meeting a new roommate, maybe even a new friend! Or two.
At least this bot wasn't going to call him dumb. Instead, they scolded him for calling himself that.But when Link Vrains, and a certain monster, catch his eye, is Den City really the break Yuma thought it would be?
Not abandoned, just on hiatus while I cement where this fic is going.

After the Lost Incident, tech seemed to just- Run rampant. SOL was taken over by a specific group of code-eating A.Is who call themselves 'Ignis', and Den City was blocked off from the rest of society.
For ten years, Den has been governed by these 'Ignis', ruling out the daily lives of the humans they control. Their only opposition has been two separate sides, with.. Varying opinions on how to stop the rampage.
One that wants to eradicate all tech, and another that wishes to make said tech change their minds on the mortals they control.
Well, whatever.
They're both criminals in the end.

Five years ago, the entire world underwent an Internet Black Out for three and a half years.
People couldn't log in with virtual reality; but data flowed as normally as the underdeveloped Internet centuries before. Hackers and certified programmers worked together but still couldn't break the complex lockdown. Nations were stuck without online virtual reality and all of its benefits. Like all beginnings, the event ended, but the search for answers began.
What caused this?
Well, it was rumored to be the Blue Pixie. The same unknown fairy program both Hackers and Bounty Hunters alike still search for this very day.
The question remains: Where did it come from?
(SI, in which a sensitive crybaby becomes an AI from another world, and holds a grudge. With this, they decide to make it everyone else's problem for a time.)

However, in doing this, it also activates a protection protocol that seals the ignis and their origins in safe battlements made from their elemental attributes. Ryoken has to rescue the lost children once again, before Queen and SOL tech beat him to them.
