Adrien is amazed by how easy the students make it seem. How they excitedly bounce around each other and weave sentences and context clues that are by lines he’s never known. This is my way of fixing the mess that is Miraculous Ladybug and giving Adrien healthier relationships and emotional growth because I hate how the show was made even though the premise was interesting.
WARNING: This is a very slow burn, and updates WILL be sporadic. Also, I do not own Miraculous Ladybug or any of the characters from it! However, I DO own this story and I absolutely DO NOT give permission for this to be published anywhere that I do not post this myself!

Not officially or anything! Psychologists don't like diagnosing someone so young with psychopathy, and the term itself is even outdated in most medical circles, but Adrien has a history of some...less than couth behavior.
But that was the old Adrien! Now, the New Adrien is determined to be a Good Guy! He's practiced how! If he can just stick to the script he made for himself, maybe he can just be...normal, and find happiness.
He does find happiness, but it isn't in a suburban house with a white picket fence and 2.5 kids like he originally thought. No, Adrien's happiness belongs only to one person.

Just as the car pulled out of the manor’s long driveway, Felix began to speak.
“You never told me why we’re going to Paris, mom.” He said softly. He hesitantly turned to face his mother, still fiddling with the ring on his hand.
His mother’s eyes drifted down to the ring he was wearing for a split second. He caught the dark look in her green irises. It was only for a brief second before it was replaced with that same smile. It still made his heart drop nonetheless.
“We’re going to visit Aunt Emilie.”
“Is something wrong?”
“Why must something be wrong for us to visit?”
Or: Felix is in Paris permanently. There’s no going back to London. Nothing to go back to.

While this fic takes its structure from the musical, multiple elements are taken from the original 1988 movie as well. This includes lines, plot elements, and phrases. Songs from the musical can also be found referenced within the prose.
Since this is largely an exercise in mapping an existing ship onto J.D./Veronica and their plotline (sans the eventual twist), some subplots and their respective songs/scenes have been excised. Otherwise, this fic will follow an abridged version of the original story's plot. Experiencing the original plot in either form is crucial to understanding what is going on.

“Death.” The boy says and Death’s smiles, all sharp teeth and glowering eyes that instil fear in everything living. The humans who had summoned him before this child had all but cowered in his presence, words failing them as they trembled in fear before him. But, this child held no such regard. The boy’s green eyes gleamed with fascination.
“Yes, child. You have summoned me.” Death acknowledges, and the boy’s eyes widen at the confirmation. “What is it that you want from me?”
He can already make the assumptions. From all his years of existing, Death knows what mortals want from him. Vitality, longevity and power. He peers down at the small frame of the young boy, who seems to hesitate momentarily, before taking in a deep breath.
The boy looks up at him, his eyes determined and Death wonders what the boy plans on asking him. Would it be wealth, riches, fantasies? The boy opens his mouth and speaks,
“Will you be my friend?”
“…Huh?”
