Summary
It hurt.
Jayce was surprised that he was hurting. He didn’t quite think afterlife would include such things. Not that he’d particularly believed in an afterlife.
He kept his eyes shut for a moment, gasping to catch his breath as strange pins and needles type sensations danced over his body. He blinked his eyes open, sweet floral fragrance flooding his nose, a vaguely discordant melody chirruped around him.
He was alive. And it hurt.
And Jayce had never been so very happy to hurt in his entire life.
He laughed out loud, pushing himself to his feet. “It worked! We did it, Viktor, we fixed-“
It was rambunctiously sonorous, but could’ve passed for pin drop silence as the most important sound of all was absent.
“Viktor?”
