Summary
“They're uh…my favorite flower.” Lark goes red and shrugs. Nicky laughs and looks at him fondly.
“Alright, dork.” Silence falls over them and Nicky finds himself staring out at the sun and the waves, listening to the ocean. It's been so long since he’s seen the sun. Code purple brought with it red sky and a black sun, and even before it the world was covered in a blanket of static and chaos that you could never stare at for too long.
“Marigolds.” Nicky says suddenly. Lark hums in confusion. “They're my favorite flower.” He shrugs. Lark laughs a bit and shakes his head, resting his forehead on his knee briefly.

or: Lark gets hit with some kind of sleep spell that has him lost in his mind, Nicky is tasked with going into his head (via magic) and retrieving him. Once everything clears up, they notice a shift in their relationship and dynamic
