Summary
If there’s something Eddie has always prided himself on, it’s staying calm under pressure. Volt is the reactive one—the emotional one, the protective one—but Eddie feels like he’s pretty good about being able to keep his wits about him.
Others in the house like to gently remind him that there’s a difference between not letting things bother him and bottling things up.
He’s not bottling things up. He’s letting things pass him by. Electricity through the wires instead of into them. Because if he stops moving—if he starts feeling—if he listens to every pretty word, every soft plea, every bratty retort out of Volt’s mouth—Eddie would never get anything done.
And Eddie is at his wits’ end, which is why Volt is restrained in their bed upstairs by Eddie’s wires and gagged with his own panties, while Eddie runs the Breaker Box alone this evening.
