Summary
An onbake is a spirit born of gratitude, when a beloved pet or possession is kept and cared-for over a long time. I wondered about what kind of onbake would come out of a stuffed animal, and thought about the line in Among The Dolls about how being worn out and broken is better than being left on a shelf. She seemed like she would fit into the world of Daimajin Kanon, and the soba shop where the Onbake reveal their stories one by one.
The poetic style is borrowed from Edwin Arlington Robinson, and some words were borrowed from Meg Barnhouse's song "All Will Be Well" about Julian of Norwich.
