Summary
Daud's guilt leads him to acting sooner and more boldly than expected. Why should he play pawn and let Attano rot when he doesn't have to? Not to mention he hates this gnawing guilt when he thinks about the man's fate.
Daud has lost his taste for killing, Corvo struggles with his own thirst for bloody vengeance, and The Outsider is, of course, fascinated.

Summary
Corvo wrenched back from Jessamine. “What day is it?”
She blinked at him, clearly struggling to catch up with his strange behavior. “The second of the Month of Clans. Corvo, are you feeling alright? What’s wrong?”
The breath punched out of his lungs. “It’s 1836?” I have many powers and abilities. Corvo’s ears rang with the echo of whale song. It wasn’t actually possible, was it? And yet, was the proof not right there in his arms?
Corvo Attano's world crumbled into ash the day the assassin, Daud, murdered his Empress, and nothing has been right in it since. When the Outsider steps in to change fate for his favored Marked, Corvo will stop at nothing to make sure the second chance isn't wasted. With all his memories from the erased time, Corvo and Jessamine must work in secret with few allies to foil the Spymaster's plot, but that means the infamous Knife of Dunwall must be dealt with. To protect Jessamine, Corvo will do anything--even work alongside the one man he hates above all others.

"Gifts don't come with a price, Corvo. That's why they're called gifts."
In which Corvo Attano gains the attention of the fabled Outsider, struggles with the question of whether to seek justice or revenge, and unwittingly discovers just what it takes to be found fascinating by a god.
{Personal canon of what happened between Corvo and the Outsider over the course of Dishonored. Still mostly canon compliant.}

Summary
(learning how to live when your death was the mechanic by which you could succeed.)
Then the assassin says, "I don't know where to go from here."
At first Corvo thinks one of the Whalers must have snuck into the room, that maybe this is a coded message, that that's why it makes so little sense—but no. It's just him, and the assassin on his knees.
"I don't know how to change this," he adds. It sounds as drained as Corvo feels. "I've tried... everything I could think of. Nothing worked. This is how it always ends."-

Summary
“My dear Corvo,” The Outsider coos, floating from his place by my side to be level with me, hands on each of my knees with most of his body dangling into the void in a way that makes me almost nervous, “You do what you have to.”
He gets close, as if to kiss me. I close my eyes and wait for him to go away. He always does, eventually.
…
On the cusp of feeling too old to protect Emily, Corvo finds solace in the presence of his loved ones in the void and the entity that watches over them. When the outsider tells Corvo that he has an expiration date, Corvo goes into a panic that he doesn’t quite understand as he comes to terms with losing him too.

Summary
“My last gift to you, Daud. You’ve filled the river with blood and choked the streets with corpses. You’ve ruined so many lives as the blade in the dark, the wolf in the flock; not least your own. And now you want to change.” He spread his hands wide in a mockery of friendliness, a true nastiness in his face now, in his empty eyes that didn’t reflect light. “Here’s your chance, Daud. Corvo’s Mark is chained to yours. Save him, and save Emily. Then we’ll see.”
The Outsider, because Daud's guilt has made him interesting again, gives him a choice; help Corvo and save his soul, or let Dunwall fall to ruin and himself with it.

Summary
Choked out and left on his bed, key and bone charm missing, Daud is left with more questions than answers. Against all odds, he and his whalers remain alive, all with no explanation whatsoever. And then a year after the group of ex-assassins leaves Dunwall to settle down in Serkonos, they are re-acquainted with the mysterious, quiet Royal Protector, who, for whatever reason, has come to Serkonos to occupy the room next to Daud's, and for whatever reason, doesn't kill any of them. Dunwall's Royal Protector is a frustrating mystery, and like all puzzles, Daud will take it upon himself to understand the strange creature that is Corvo Attano.

Summary
The Royal Protector unwillingly stumbles back in time. Corvo's not especially pleased to have everything he's worked for erased, but he's not terribly willing to allow events to unfold how they did previously either. Dunwall will not have another Child Empress - he'll make sure of it.

Summary
(...) she might not even remember this scene in a couple of days, but that's the exact opposite of what Corvo wants. He wants her to think about him. Or, excuse him, he would love that very much. That's what he thinks when he rushes into the bathroom, pushes a random door, closes the toilet sit and climbs onto it. Clenches his fists. This is all it takes - thumping blood in between his fingers, eyes shut tight and a clear memory of the moment he wants to go back into.
And there he is.
(long story short: that's just Corvo testing the murky waters and learning about things that can and can't be fixed)

Summary
They call him the Leviathan but somehow nobody ever stopped to consider why that was. In retrospect, thinking about that before going out to hunt whales may have been a good idea. It's an oversight that Corvo survives just barely and one that will prove to have irrevocable consequences on his life.
