They are half way through the hunt when darkness falls. Fëanaro halts his horse, reaches out with one hand for his father. Finwë is on his left, Nolofinwë on the right of him. None of them speak for a moment, barely able to see one another. The whole forest is quiet. Terrified.
Something has gone wrong. Very wrong.
“Atar?” Nolofinwë’s voice is the first to pierce through the heavy silence. “Atar, where have the lights of the Two Trees gone?”
