Thanks for the detailed information, now I think I understand better your pov. One of the reasons I love spones is that they complete each other, Spock is so convinced that humanity is a weakness, something to get rid of (I think it's because of his childhood experiences, plus his respect for his father, plus being raised in Vulcan) and bones is so damn focused on making him see just how human he can become, exposing every single emotion he detects. That Spock ends up just becoming more 'human' trying so hard not too, and bones gets desperate for him to understand the pride and joy of becoming one. Poor Spock needs to understand that he can fit perfectly on any world as long as he loves what he truly is. Because we already do.
I''ll just keep reading your stories, so please write some more spones!!
You are correct. They do complete each other. We will never tire of exploring the many layers of their personalities and of their relationship with each other. I got into an interesting discussion with bonesmctightass when he was writing Draw Your Swords. On Oct 3 he wrote about Spock and McCoy being unable to recognize interest from someone else: "Too bad they're both emotionally stunted to realize the dropped hints." That about sums up the situation between them and reflects my favorite, all-time theme in love stories. They are meant for each other. They don't know it, but the audience (reader) does. You might like this fic and the comment exchange. Thanks again for your continued interest. And watch for more spones!
