Dumbledore and Voldemort who both got bonked by magic they knew about yet overlooked? Voldemort knew about the old magic protection that caused his curse to backfire, something he should have foreseen. Dumbledore picked up a cursed ring, not thinking clearly at the time while face-to-face with the Resurrection Stone. Being powerful doesn't make someone infallible. In fact, I would argue that OP characters who never ever make mistakes and are invincible are much less realistic than characters who are strong yet have human weaknesses.
