Summary
Home was a word that Tommy never really liked. It was always a lie in some sense, a joke. When home time was called everyone rushed out of the classroom with giddy smiles and swinging arms. He however never left his chair, continuing to work on whatever was handed to him. It was routine now, but maybe that was the problem.
He thinks it’s weird how he was the only kid left behind in the classroom. That his parents weren’t waiting out at the front to bring him home. But when he asks about it, about why Phil doesn’t pick him up all the time and when he does it’s thirty minutes late. All he got was twin glances and lies. That “Dads just busy.” Or “He had work.” Lies, he thinks, is his life.
At least Techno’s here, even with his lies and annoying teenager behaviour. At least he gives him looks of sympathy.
Or: Tommy’s starting to feel like Phil doesn’t care about him, Techno shows him that it doesn’t matter. He’s here, that’s all that matters.

He had seen how out of it and devastated Tubbo was during the time Ranboo was dead, and even worse that Michael was missing.
But now here they were, Ghostboo was playing with Michael as Tubbo was happily chatting away with Technoblade.
OR: Tommy tried to trade with Dream but Technoblade intervenes.

Tommy stumbled inside, and under the torchlight Techno could see his lips and fingertips were tainted an unsettling blue. His knuckles were gripped white around the bundle, and it was clear he cared more for the spider than himself.
Techno tilted his head down at the thing before grunting “Who’s that?”
Tommy’s lip quivered slightly, like he was about to cry, but the boy managed to hold it together. “He’s Shroud” his voice was barely above a whisper. “But you can change his name. You should. It’ll protect him.”
The piglin raised his eyebrow in confusion. “And why would I change his name?”
He swallowed, clutching the bundle tightly “I can’t-” He was getting choked up and had to pause before continuing. “I can’t keep him safe. Dream is going to kill him if he can’t kill me.” Tommys shoved the bundle into Techno’s arms. “I don’t even care if you let him go. He’ll be safer in the wild.” Tears were pricking Tommy’s eyes and his arms were shaking as he handed the spider over.
OR-Tommy wants to die. Techno won't let that happen

“What?”
“You can’t-” And he’s begging, face pinched in some mixture of guilt and desperation. “You can’t tell him.”
Techno’s frown deepens. “What’re you talkin’ about, Tommy? I have to tell Phil.”
“No, you don’t!” He cries, fingers curling into the covers, eyes alight and glistening. “I don’t-” Tommy pauses, swallows, squeezes his eyes shut. “Please, Techno. If you care about me at all, you won’t say anything.”
The breath is sucked out of him, leaving a hollow ache in his chest. “That’s not fair.”
