Chapter 1

Summary:

You get transferred to be the new pharmacy tech in the ER and get introduced to Dr Robby by Dana the charge nurse who referred you there.

Chapter Text

It was a late night when you were coming to the ER to drop off your things from the other building now that you were starting there.

“Here hun” she said as she walked you into the break room and showed you your locker handing you a key. “I wrapped it purple since that’s your favorite but if you want other colors I have more in one of the bins” she said handing it out smiling sweetly.

She said you were the sweetest girl in the hospital and had an innocent side so it meant a lot she looked after you and catered to that part of you.

You took it in your hand feeling the texture of the tape wrapped around it, lavender your favorite and smiled back.

“Thank you miss Dana” you said before she chuckled, “you’ve been calling me that for almost a year it’s time for just Dana”

You made a semi awkward face and looked up to her, “okay just Dana” you said before the door opened, it was a rather tall man.

He looked older than you by at least 20 years but he was so handsome, dark hair and brown eyes, he looked tired but so so attractive. Immediately you blushed and looked away,

“I’m out for the night, you good?” He asked.

And his voice… gravely and low before noticing the back of your head,

“Yeah I’m heading out as soon as we finish up” Dana said looking at you eyes telling you to turn to him,

When you did he was closer and you couldn’t help but feel your cheeks burn, thankfully it was a bit dark since the lights were off and hopefully he didn’t notice.

“Y/N this is Doctor Robinavitch he’s our head Doctor on morning shift” she explained and you smiled softly taking in more of his features before he smirked at you making your breath hitch.

“Hi..I’m Y/N I’m the new pharmacy tech I’ll be restocking here and keeping count of everything in inventory” you explained as he nodded, he looked exhausted.

“You can call me Robby, I’ll see you both in the morning?” He asked and you both nodded before he left the door closing gently as you watched him leave.

Dana grinned but waited for you to speak knowing what you would say.

“….I like him…” you almost whispered to which she laughed quietly, “He’s good at his job he’ll take care of you”

You mouthed the word good before snapping up at looking at her confused, “he? I thought you were training me Dana?”

Your pulse began to quicken, Dana was the one who roped you into transferring here wasn’t she supposed to let you shadow her?”

“He doesn’t bite Y/N and I’ll be around but they need me in Peds for a while this week, you’ll be fine I promise” she assured and you smiled nodding.

She let you put your things away and walked you to your car watching you drive off and all you could think about was seeing him again.

Chapter 2: First encounters

Summary:

Daddy Robby is so daddy OMGGG

Chapter Text

When you walked into work you immediately went for your water and headed out to the floor which buzzed around you.

You weren’t used to a bit of chaos so it exited you, but a small amount of anxiety lingered at the end, the unknown scared you.

You scanned around subconsciously until your eyes reached him, Dr Robby, there he was standing outside a patients room talking with two interns, one a smaller looking boy and a pretty girl with brown hair and glasses.

You smiled, you liked looking at him and before you knew it, his eyes glanced over to you and he smiled through his next words making your heart flutter as you walked to Dana to greet her.

“Good morning Dana, the narcotics safe is?..” you trailed off before she showed you to the room.

“There’s narc keys in there for certain machines but we never use them that often so don’t worry” she explained as you logged in grabbing medication for another room,
“thank you” you trailed walking off with it.

Later that day you were halfway done loading hydromorphone into a drawer when you felt his presence.

Strong and grounding.

And you smelled his cologne faintly , cedar wood and something like palo santo

You smiled as you loaded a syringe into the drawer before he spoke up, “hey-“ he said voice low and gentle and you turned your attention towards him.

“Your our new technician?” He asked and you nodded quickly swallowing.

His eyes flicked to your hair clip, it was baby blue with sparkles, then to your necklace, it was pompompurin but to anyone else it would just look like a dog.

“You’d staying on our floor this week training mainly with me, we’ll start after lunch are you okay with that?” He said and you were staring, you couldn’t help it.

Staring right into his eyes and then his lips, and then his eyes again, “I-..yeah” you said voice small almost trembling.

He must have noticed because his face softened a bit and he stepped closer, “first days are hard, especially down here, I’ll take care of you don’t worry” he said and you almost melted standing there nodding and smiling to him.

He felt safe…he felt like he knew you were something to be protected.

“I’ll come find you after lunch Dr Robby” you said before he tsked playfully stepping closer,

“Just Robby” he said softly to you looking down at you seeming to study your face.

Your blush came back, “yes Robby” and he smirked at you, “Good girl” he said and your breath caught.

He stepped past you toward the crash cart, but not before his hand brushed lightly against your back in the most innocent, guiding gesture way.

But it made your chest flutter anyway

Note: * is for Robby’s internal dialogue *

It was a nice break room, not just calming lighting but it smelled good.

It was big too, big enough to sneak away and sit in the corner so you could watch your favorite show little bear on your phone without anyone to see.

You slid into the corner booth like table and nestled up with your jacket on your lap as you got YouTube up.

Before you pulled up your ⭐️little⭐️ playlist you looked around, empty… good.

Or so you thought

You qued up the show on your phone and opened your blueberry yogurt grabbing your pompompurin spoon from your lunchbox, after looking around making sure no one was around.

As the opening music played, you felt you shoulders relax and you could actually take a breath for a moment as you took your first few bites.

Little did you know, Robby had come around the corner and saw through the door on the opposite side both your show and your spoon smirking to himself.

He knew it, immediately he felt his chest tighten and his breath caught.

* Oh this is too good, such a sweet little thing*

As little bear stumbled over a tree log you giggled and your hand flew up to your mouth feeling small for a moment.

It made Robby swoon watching you before he put his head down and made an pretend note on his pad as someone walked by,

*it’s the same dog as the one on her necklace, it must be from another show…I’ll have to get her to tell me*

He already saw two other doctors eyeing you as you refilled machines earlier, he had to keep you close to him once you came back, and as soon as you did he could make sure of that.

They didn’t treat you with the proper respect that he knew he could and now all he had to do was wait.

Chapter 4: Your secret is safe with me

Summary:

Robby teases you about your show and you feel yourself folding for him already

Please let me know what you want to see, comment below!!!

Chapter Text

You took no time getting back to find Dr. Robby, you wanted to be near him again.

He felt safe.

Your hair bounced a bit in your blue sparkly clip and once you spotted the main core area you looked around tentatively until you found him standing at the main cores Pyxsis.

As you approached him he tracked your movements without meaning to.

*Theres my girl* he noted seeing the shimmer of your blue clip and internally smiling.

It was delicate…girly and innocent just like you.

He didn’t smile at first, only tilting his head a little letting you feel the weight of his attention.

Once you were close enough he spoke up, “Your back” he said softly.

Your eyes flickered up then down, “Yes, I hope I wasn’t too long” you said already anxious.

He noticed and stepped a bit closer smiling tenderly “Your not on a timer Y/N, lunch is lunch” he said making your nerves ease a bit.

“Did you eat?” He added and you nodded, your fingers rubbing against one another, it was a nervous habit.

One he was already taking note of.

“Yes..I had a yogurt” you said and he smirked, “That sounds nice, was it good?” He asked almost in a singsong and your heart fluttered.

You loved feeling him tease you a bit, like he was talking to the smallest softest parts of you.

You nodded a bit, “Mmhm, I watched my show and now I’m fueled up” you said and his eyes almost darkened as he folded his arms leaning in a bit, “Yeah? Which one”

Your whole posture shifted, like you’d just been asked a question you didnt know the answer to.

But you did know the answer, your fingers freezing.

He waited.. feeling you struggle to get the words out,

*oh sweet girl*

“Maybe something with a little brown bear?” He asked perfectly normal like it was a perfectly normal show that everyone watched during lunch.

You swallowed thick, “I- No…It’s not-“ but he tsked quietly, “Its okay…your secret is safe with me sweetheart” he said his voice dipping into something like honey.

That name again, it made something burst in you, “T-thank you” you murmured

God. His chest squeezed in the most unexpected way.

He just couldn’t help it anymore, he reached a hand up, slow and careful, his eyes never leaving you.

He gently lifted the small golden pendant resting at the base of your throat.

Your breath caught and your face reddened, as you looked up at him with wide curious eyes.

A dog.
Yellow.
Round face.
Brown beret.

He knew exactly who it was, he looked it up as soon as you left the station.

*Pompompurin, it’s Sanrio, will have to get something from them for her*

“Is he your favorite?” Robby asked.

You gasped instantly. You almost laughed but stopped. And Robby ate it up tilting his head smirk deepening.

“Yeah?…you like him?”

You felt like melting in his arms then and there, “yes..” you said

*So cute…so small*

*Mine* he thought suddenly. *You’re going to be mine to take care of. You just don’t know it yet.*

“I like yellow,” you whispered, trying to recover your embarrassment, “It’s a happy color.”

“I’ll remember that,” he said, still holding your gaze.

You blinked up at him, and he let the chain fall gently back to your chest.

“Alright happy girl let’s get you logged in so we can start rounding.” He said and without hesitation you stepped forward and began signing into the computer.

*such an obedient girl*

“you stay close to me today, I want you where I can see you”. His voice said from behind you and you smiled to yourself deep feeling yourself fall into his hold.

And you were loving every second.

Chapter 5: That’s what I’m here for

Summary:

It happens!

Notes:

Did I rush it? Idk idc I needed this and so did you

Chapter Text

Robby stayed close. One step behind you as you moved from room to room, clipboard tucked under your arm.

Your eyes scanned meds and labs and codes you’d memorized a hundred times… but they all felt like a blur today.

He noticed. Of course he did.

*sweet thing must be overwhelmed, I’ll have to get her something warm to settle her down*

“Stay with me,” he murmured once the team split briefly, his voice was like a thread that kept you tethered to him.

You liked feeling lead, guided by such a strong grounding presence.

“You’re doing fine. Just stay close.” He added putting his hand to the small of your back as you both rounded the corner to another Pyxsis machine.

When you got to the screen, you realized a set of calculations that needed to be logged.

It was conversions you knew but suddenly couldn’t remember.

Your mind raced, you couldn’t think of the math properly with him nearby, you felt stupid.

Your hand hovered uselessly over the screen and you just blinked at the numbers, lips parting slightly, trying to recall anything.

Behind you, Robby stepped in gently.

You felt him and your stomach dropped, did he feel disappointed you froze up?

“Breathe, sweetheart,” he said quietly, his chest just brushing your back now. “You’re not alone. I’ve got you.” He added.

*Ive got you little one*

“I- Im just trying to remember” you blurted as his hand reached around yours, fingers curling over your trembling knuckles.

You blushed and relaxed into his touch

*there we go…let me do it for you sweet thing*

He guided your hand toward the touchscreen, his fingertips steadying yours.

“Look here,” he whispered near your ear, his tone patient and kind. “We’re converting milligrams to micrograms. That’s all. You already know this. Let’s do it slow together.” He explained.

You nodded, swallowing and trying to steady your breath.

His other hand came up to softly brush the back of your hair, smoothing it down

He was grounding you

“You’re safe,” he murmured. “I’m right here.”

You took a breath and nodded feeling him closer himself behind you.

As he explained the numbers, nothing was making sense, but his hand was doing all the work really…so it didn’t need to.

When he was done you turned around and faced him looking up blinking your lashes.

“I-I’m sorry I couldn’t remember I just”but he only smiled softly, “no no..that’s what I’m here for” he said before you felt your brain go melty

Your lip quivered and your eyes got glossy

*just a bit further..*

“Isn’t that right?” He added tilting you chin up and leaning down a bit to gaze at you mockingly almost.

You were slipping, he squeezed gently and he nodded a bit, coaxing you.

You folded, “yes daddy..” and before you knew it you inhaled sharp and your eyes went wide….while his went soft.

“I-Im sorry! I..” you tried to explain before you saw him smile at you.

It was okay….he’s okay with it…

“There she is…that’s my baby” he said before leaning in to kiss your temple making you shiver.

*all mine…that’s right little one daddy’s here*

His assurance almost made your knees buckle

You two stayed at the machine a moment before you snapped back and cleared your throat, “we can go to the next one now?” You asked and he nodded closing his eyes,

“Yes we can” he said before leading you onto the next station.

Notes:

Small Drabble before next chapter!

Chapter Text

It was almost the end of the shift, you were running close to empty and this is the last thing you needed.

Your jacket zipper had caught between the fabric and you couldn’t get it up, you fiddled and twisted it around before you stomped a bit.

Earning Dr Robby’s attention immediately.

*Oh this is too good..*

He watched as you huffed a bit until he saw your eyes starting to get glossy, “Sweetheart?” He asked and you glanced his way easing your brows and smiling,

“I’m okay!” You tried saying before he stepped in front of you with a swift step, he was so tall it took little to no time to get to you.

And it never would, he would never let you out of his sight again whether you liked it or not.

His lips were twitching into the smallest, fondest smirk. “My girl’s getting fussy again.”

Your eyes snapped up to his, cheeks already red. “N-no, I just— It’s stuck” you said and he chuckled.

“Mhm,” he hummed, standing in front of you.

*Shes so cute when she’s fussy*

“Is it being mean to you again, baby?” He asked and you slowly nodded frowning a bit.

He was already reaching. His big, warm hands covered yours, gently moving them away from your zipper. You let him.

*Thats right little one you let daddy help you now*

“Let me see,” he said, voice like velvet. His eyes never left yours, even as his fingers worked the zipper down, adjusted the folded fabric that had gotten caught, and zipped it back up in one motion.

“There we go,” he whispered, almost too softly to hear. “All fixed. No more fussies, yeah?”

You blinked up at him, dazed, like your brain had melted.

“..Thank you Daddy”

Your flustered little stomp was the cutest thing he’d seen all day.

He bent slightly, brushing a kiss to your temple.

You were absolutely his.

Robby’s voice low and thick as he said, “You’re my favorite when you get like this, you know that? All worked up… just so I can come fix it.”

You squirmed and he grinned, “There’s my little cub” he whispered and you looked up at him almost beaming with the little energy you had left.

You wanted to sit on his lap suddenly and fold against him and just let go.

*I can’t wait to take you home baby, your mine now*

And soon he would, even if you didn’t know yet.

Chapter Text

The break room was quiet and mostly cleared out now that the shift had ended. You were at your locker, tucking your water bottle and your Sanrio pen back into your blue and white backpack.

You picked those colors for cinnamaroll so you could still have the colors but not the obvious character for everyone to see.

Even though you realllly wanted to decorate it with little chains and toys of him.

As you were carefully folding your scrub top and slipping your little pill case into the side pocket, you heard his voice behind you.

“Let me carry it to my car, sweetheart.” He said softly, warmly…so sure.

*your coming home with me where you belong sweet girl*

You blinked. Turned slowly.

He was standing in the doorway, and he watched you zipped up your bag biting your lip.

His car..

Not your car….Not let’s go to the lot car…his car.

And he said it like it was already decided.

Which it was

Like you were already packed up and coming home with him, not just for tonight, but for good.

Robby’s brow softened, and he stepped closer, brushing his hand gently over yours to take the bag.

“Hey,” he said, his voice quieter now. “You okay baby?”, And your heart thudded in your chest.

More than okay…Perfect.

You nodded, quick and quiet.

He gave your bag a little tug, and you let go, watching him sling it over his shoulder without even thinking twice.

“There we go,” he said softly. “That’s Daddy’s girl.”

Your cheeks burned in that warm, dizzy way when he said that.

*have to print out something for her when I get home, she’ll want to wind down after tomorrows shift*

Once you got to his car and he opened the door for you, you didn’t mean to take such a deep breath but it smelled like him and you couldn’t help it.

Cedar wood, and something amber, it was him. His smell.

Robby couldn’t help but notice and glanced over at you as he pulled out of the lot, a slow, soft grin blooming across his face.

His voice dropped just a little… warm and teasing, but tender too.

“Yeah?” he murmured. “That a good smell, baby girl?”

*she’s such a good girl…taking me in…getting used to my scent so quick*

You nodded sleepily, shifting to curl up more, your legs tucked sideways and your fingers wrapped around the hem of your hoodie.

“Mhm…It smells like Christmas trees. It makes me feel safe” you said eyes fluttering now.

“That’s how you’re supposed to feel,” he said. “That’s what Daddy’s for.” He added and your tummy did a little happy flip.

*just wait until we get home and I get you all to myself little one. You’ll never have to be strong for anyone again*

Chapter 8: Finally home

Summary:

Your are home finally!

Chapter Text

The car came to a stop with a soft hum, headlights cutting across the quiet lot in front of his apartment building.

You blinked slow, sitting up a little in the passenger seat.

Your heart was fluttering as you stared at the porch light glowing warmly above the door, it was a warm yellow.

*Welcome to your new home baby*

You didn’t say anything, you just curled your fingers in your lap, sleepy and quiet, taking it all in.

The building wasn’t new or flashy The bricks were old and there were some fall decorations out that looked like they’d been used for generations.

And you loved it…

And before you could look to him, you felt his eyes on you, “We’re home sweetheart” he spoke softly.

You smiled gently and nodded, “Home..” you said before looking to him smiling bigger.

*Thats right baby*

“Let daddy get the bag and we’ll head inside” he spoke and you nodded watching him reach for the takeout bag of food he picked up on the way home.

You nodded, reaching for the door handle, only to freeze when he was suddenly outside the car.

*Oh no no baby you let me take it from here…so sweet. She thinks she’s going to walk out of this car all by herself*

He was already opening your door like he’d been waiting for the excuse to pamper you.

Before you could protest, he was crouching beside you, voice low and soft and full of adoration.

“Let me carry you. You’ve been such a good girl today, baby,” he murmured, brushing your cheek with the back of his hand. “Let Daddy take care of you now.”

You blushed and felt your body warm up, and you immediately submitted to him, body relaxing instantly, arms reaching up as he scooped you into his like it was the easiest thing in the world.

You tucked your head against his chest, breathing him in cedar, clean linens and the faintest hint of that cologne you were loving so much.

He carried you up the stairs like you weighed nothing.

*Shes so good…so soft for daddy*

The takeout bag swung from his other hand.

You’d gotten pork katsu, your favorite, and he’d insisted on ordering the miso soup too.

When he opened the door, a wave of warmth washed over you.

It smelled like him…Like clean laundry, and woodsy candles.

The lights were low, just one lamp on near the couch, casting everything in golden shadow, you smiled wide as he carried you.

“I like it here” you breathed looking around more earning a chuckle from him.

“Daddy knows you would.” He said taking you towards the couch, it was a big comfy brown old leather with a nice grey blanket.

There were some medical books stacked on the coffee table, a hoodie tossed over the arm of a chair, and a cute pumpkin decoration on the tv mantle.

A little messy.

A little cluttered.

But cozy…Safe

Just like Daddy

He set you down on the couch with a kiss to your forehead and a little pat to your thigh. “Shoes off, baby.” He said helping you out of them.

“T-thank you daddy” you murmured as he picked up a remote turning on the tv.

“Here, pick us a movie. I’ll get your plate ready, alright?” He said putting on Disney Plus.

Your eyes widened, and you hummed happily.

He bought the subscription at some point during the end of the shift,

*She’ll need this for the house*

He knelt down in front of you and his eyes landed on you.

Those deep honey brown eyes that always saw everything.

The way your shoulders had hunched up a little, how your fingers tugged at the sleeves of your shirt like you weren’t quite warm enough.

*Oh sweet girl, your cold aren’t you*

Without saying a word, he got up, turned toward the hallway closet, pulled it open, and rummaged for a second.

When he came back, he was holding one of his hoodies, dark blue and oversized, the sleeves trailing long past your hands even before you put it on.

“You look chilly, baby,” he said softly, crouching down in front of you. “C’mon. Arms up for Daddy.”

You licked your lips, he was so handsome and thoughtful..and all yours.

You lifted your arms without thinking, heart thumping, and he carefully helped you out of your cardigan.

You felt yourself slip a bit, he was taking care of you so good.

As eased the hoodie over your head, guiding your arms through the sleeves one by one you giggled scrunching your nose up.

“Oh baby’s getting shy on me?” He said adjusting it making sure it didn’t tug on your hair or bunch up weird at your back.

It smelled like him. Clean and musky, warm and grounding.

You blinked at him nodding a bit, “Yeah..”

*Oh baby…*

As soon as it settled on your shoulders, you felt your whole body relax.

“There she is,” he murmured, brushing a bit of your hair back into place. “Much better. Daddy’s hoodie suits his little girl.”

Your cheeks burned, but you smiled as he leaned in and kissed your forehead, then stood back up and reached for the hem of his scrub top.

He pulled it over his head in one smooth motion, ruffling his hair a bit in the process.

Now in just in his white undershirt and sweats, he looked down at you and winked making you blush.

“Alright baby you put on a movie for us I’ll go get dinner ready” he said pressing another kiss to your head before heading to the kitchen.

You were home. Finally.

Chapter 9: An unwelcome surprise PT 1

Summary:

There is a required vaccine that comes into the hospital one day, a notoriously painful one.

Robby makes sure he is the one to give it to you since he knows you’ll be so sensitive

Chapter Text

You’re leaned halfway over the counter with Santos, both of you absolutely not doing anything productive.

Over the days you’ve been there you both have become pretty close, sharing memes and talking about gossip flying around.

She’s flipping through a chart with one hand and eating a protein bar with the other, and you’re scrolling through narcotic reports but mostly just listening to her run her mouth.

Which you were growing to love.

“So he left the fucking bag of lactated ringers wide open. Dripping into the trash. I was like, ‘Are you… stupid?’”

You tilted your head, you didn’t really know what it meant but a leak in the trash was always a bitch to take out.

You shook your head and scoffed quietly,

“And he never cleans up the compounding table properly, when I went to pull syringes for the pediatric batch yesterday the table was filthy! I’m pulling medication for fucking babies it needs to be clean” you said rolling your eyes.

Her eyes widened, “You should tell Dana about that..” she said smirking a bit,

Your eyes widened too, “She would kill him, she doesn’t play about pediatrics and nicu at all…”

“He’s gonna kill me,” she says, deadpan.

And then the overhead chirps.

“Attention: Staff who have not yet received the Poly-Tri influenza prophylaxis, please report to Station C.”

You both looked at each other and internally you winced, a shot?

She held out her bar and you took a bite,

“…Poly-what the fuck?” Santos asks, eyebrows scrunching.

You blink at her, mouth full. “That’s not a regular flu shot, right?”

“I’ve never heard of that,” she mutters, sitting up straighter.

You both glanced around and saw Dennis fiddling with his scrubs as he left the bathroom.

Trinity smirked and quickly called him over, he turns from the far end of the hall with a “What now?” kind of look, walking over with a tablet under his arm.

“Mouseboy do you know what Poly-Tri is?” Santos asks immediately. “Or are we all about to grow a third arm?”

Whitaker frowns and pulls out his phone. “I mean… it sounds like a multi-strain something? Hold on. I’ll look it up.”

You glance at Santos nervously. “Why didn’t they just say ‘flu shot’?” You asked and semi bit your lip.

“Man I was just about to go to lunch I don’t wanna go now” Whitaker said before

Right then, a voice comes from behind you calm, steady, too perfectly timed.

“I’ll take her.”

You all turn.

Dr. Robby stands in the doorway, chart in hand, expression neutral.

His eyes find you immediately. Warm. Direct. A quiet flicker of something only you catch.

“We’re short on rooms in C,” he says smoothly. “I’ll give her the injection in the small exam suite down the hall. Faster that way.” He explains glancing down to his chart.

*Short on rooms my ass…no one’s touching her but me. I made sure of that*

Whitaker blinks. “You’re doing the Poly‑Tri yourself?”

“Yeah,” Robby answers easily, jotting something in his chart. “I’ve got syringes pre‑pulled anyway. I’ll handle it.”

Santos raises an eyebrow. “That’s convenient.”

“Efficiency,” Robby says, tone perfectly bland. “Come on Y/N” he said.

He leads you gently down the hall, his pace just a bit slower than usual.

He knows your chest is getting tight, like he’s giving you space to be nervous without saying a word.

*She needs to know*

“It’s deep IM,” he murmurs softly. “Goes into the deltoid and spreads slow. Viscous suspension. That means it’s gonna sting for a while.”

You flinch. “I don’t like needles.”

“I know,” he says, turning to look at you fully now. “That’s why you’re with me. I’m not gonna rush you. Remember daddy keeps you safe” he spoke softly before taking your hand and brining you closer.

Your stomach flutters a little, from nerves, from his voice, from him.

“You won’t leave?” you whisper.

He stops right outside the exam room and gently turns you toward him.

“Never.” He whispered looking around before pressing a kiss to your head opening the door for you.

Chapter Text

Robby shuts the door behind you with a soft click and sets the tray gently down on the table.

The room is quiet.

Safe, Just you and him.

He doesn’t go for the syringe.

*I’ll have to calm her down before I do anything my sweet girls already so nervous*

Instead, he turns to you a soft, slow look,

“C’mere, little cub,” he murmurs, patting the padded exam table. “Let’s get you settled first.” He speaks and you obey.

You hop up, legs dangling, and he slides the rolling stool over and sits right in front of you, placing his knees between yours.

“Can I take your temp?” he asks, already pulling out the thermometer.

You nod, and he slides the soft plastic end under your tongue.

“Good baby” he coos in that sweet voice that makes you smile against the thermometer.

While he waits, he leans forward a bit and lifts his stethoscope off his neck.

“Wanna hold this for me?” He asks and you blink. “Really?”

“Of course. I’ll always share with my baby cub.”

You take it gently and loop it around your neck, hands toying with the cold metal ends.

He watches, visibly softer now.

“Looks cute on you,” he says, plucking the thermometer when it beeps. “Like you’re my little helper.”

You giggle quietly, still playing with the tubing.

“Wanna listen to my heartbeat?” he teases, tapping his chest.

You nod and reach out a bit shy, he notices and smirks helping you by placing his hand on top of yours and guiding it under his scrubs.

He leans in a little so you can hear it strong, steady.

*Only beating for you sweetheart*

“See how fast it is when you’re around?” he whispers. You look at him and hum tilting your head.

“Cause I love you so much.” He added and your heart swooned.

Your cheeks go hot, and you smile, but your hand slips a little and brushes the syringe on the tray.

Your whole body goes still.

“Hey,” he says immediately, cupping your jaw. “Eyes on me. Don’t look at that yet.”

You nod, lips wobbling.

“Wanna hold my hand while I get everything ready?” he asks softly. “Or sit in my lap?”

“Lap,” you whisper and your already reaching for him.

He scoops you up without hesitation, settling you sideways in his lap.

He cleans your arm gently with an alcohol wipe and kisses the side of your head as you grip the stethoscope and furrow your brow.

“Alright sweetheart it’s time, you close your eyes and it’ll be over before you know it okay? I’m right here with you” he said as he grabbed the syringe before you squeezed them shut.

You felt him grip you steady and you took a deep breath with him before he slid the needle in, and as soon as he pressed the plunger your eyes shot open.

The burn explodes through your arm, it’s horrible and thick and pressure in the muscle.

“Nnngh!” you groan, trying to breathe through it.

But your body tenses so hard, your breath catches,

*Oh baby…* his heart was breaking for you.

The groan cracks, twists into a full aching sob, like your chest just gave out.

The second he hears it, Robby drops everything.

The syringe hits the sharps bin with a hard clack, discarded with urgency.

“Ohhh, baby…baby!” he gasps, already lifting you from his lap into his arms fully, one hand under your butt, the other cradling your back.

You’re shaking now, face pressed into his chest, sobbing so hard it sounds like it hurts.

He starts bouncing you immediately, pacing slow across the room.

“Shhhh, I got you, I got you, baby cub. It’s over, it’s over, no more hurting shhh.”

You can’t speak just sob, gulping air between hiccups as the pain rolls through.

“Oh honey,” he whispers, kissing your forehead, then your temple. “That was a big one, huh? Hurt my poor baby so bad.” He cooed and your arm was throbbing.

You nod, brokenly still crying.

“I know. I know…You were so brave, all done baby” he assured as he rubbed your back in big circles, gently patting between strokes

*She’ll need water, I have her sippy in my office..*

“It’s all done now, baby girl…and now we get to go have lunch in the office with each other yeah? Go watch our show and get some food?” He asked and you only sniffled hiccuping again.

“Y-yes Da Dad- Dada..” you cried before burrying your face back in his neck.

His eyes softened and almost darkened a bit,

*Dada….Dada…She called me Dada*

He couldn’t help the grin that was growing on his face.

“Alright cub, Dadas got you” he whispered pressing another kiss to your head.

He was spinning with it, it tasted like honey in his mouth that he wanted to pour over you until you were drowning in it.

*Your mine…Your mine and I’ll never never let anything hurt you again*

Chapter Text

You sat happily in his lap after the shift as he let you nuzzle against him.

Your fingers wandered slowly over his arms tracing the veins.

Up to his bicep, where you gave a little squeeze and whispered, “So strong…” in a tiny voice, teasing just a bit.

You loved his arms they were one of your favorite things about him.

Besides his face :)

You hummed and tilted your head, “Strong for baby” you said giggling before he huffed out a quiet laugh.

“What are you doin’, cub?”

*Silly girl…touching on daddy like this. Only you my love…only you to ever touch me*

You didn’t answer. Just smiled and brought your hands to his face, cradling it gently like he was the fragile one now.

You brushed your thumbs under his eyes, your fingers exploring the shape of his cheekbones, the rough of his jaw, the little wrinkle at the corner of his brow.

*remember every little detail baby, your mine forever and you’ll never forget that*

He let you do it. Let you take your time.

“You’re handsome,” you said, just barely above a whisper.

“Oh yeah?” His voice was deeper now, slower. “That so?”

“Mhm.” You nodded, pressing your forehead to his. “You’re my… dada bear.”

His breath caught.

*Oh sweet girl…my little baby…See?*

His internal voice sighs like a satisfied animal.

*Mine*

“Oh, baby cub…” he murmured, voice thick with something sweet and aching. “You know what you’re doin’ to me, My beautiful girl callin’ me that?” He added.

You giggled, brushing your nose against his again, feeling his body heat you craved.

“What’m I doing?” You asked playfully before he chuckled.

“Ruinin’ me,” he whispered, kissing the tip of your nose.

“I’ll fix you…I protect daddy too” you said before hugging him and nuzzling in his neck taking in his scent.

“Say it again,” he whispered.

“Dada Bear.” You murmered before you sat back up and glanced to the coffee table noticing your Sanrio coloring book he had bought you the other day as a treat.

He let out a soft, knowing breath wrapping both arms around you like a shield.

“Does my little one want to color something for dada bear? Huh?” He asked bouncing you a bit in his lap.

You giggled shyly and nodded before he sat you down on your plush Winnie the Pooh Halloween themed blanket and settled the book down with your markers.

He warmed it up in the dryer for you so it was nice and cozy, faintly smelling of lavender and vanilla the scent beads you liked.

Robby leaned down, nuzzling your cheek with his scruffy jaw and spoke in a soft rumble.

“I’m gonna get you one of your little yogurts, okay? The peach one?”

He asked and you nodded excitedly at him before he kissed your head, “Daddy..sippy too?” You asked before he nodded knowingly.

“Yes my cub, your sippy too” he said.

“Yayy” you softly cheered and wiggled a bit on your blanket getting comfortable.

“Good girl,” he murmured, kissing the top of your head again. “You stay right here, sweetheart. Dada’s just in the kitchen.”

And you couldn’t help but grin as he walked away exited to color for him.
