Chapter Text

It’s been one year since Charles got on one knee and proposed to Niko.

It was Ikki’s B-day and they were at a Birthday party at their house for him with all they’re close friends from NEL.
Niko was waiting in the living room ,while talking with Kurona, for his boyfriend that he oh so loved. Tough, said boyfriend was nowhere to be seen.

Charles was in Niko’s and his bedroom, sitting on their queen bed while practically sweating bullets. He was looking down at the box in his hand, in that box was the very ring he was going to use to propose to Niko with.
”Calm down Char-man! Niko will love the ring you chose, im sure of it!”
Shidou was in the room with Charles, he was the one to help him with the proposal plan after all. Since Shidou was married to Sae for nearly 3 years now-Charles decided it’d be good to ask him for advice. Sae had a role in it too but only to make sure Shidou and Charles don’t go overboard and overwhelm Ikki. It was against his own will though, since Charles knew he couldn’t control himself around Shidou, he asked Sae to help him too so that he and Shidou don’t do anything stupid or too drastic.

“Besides, you’d most likely be able to crack him later like i did with Sae-“ “Shidou! Not the time” “Sorry, sorry! Im just saying though~”

Charles sighed and rubbed his temple “I’m just nervous…what if he doesn’t like the ring i chose, or worse- Rejects me!”
Shidou looked at him as if he were to be a complete idiot “ Are you kidding me? Niko would never reject you, he’s too inlove with you”
Charles looked up from the box and at shidou, then looked back down and whispered “I hope you’re right…” just then, a knock came from the door

“what are you guys doing? Ikki’s about to cut the cake! Hurry up will you?” Sendous voice came urged and excited
“Yea yea, we’re comin’” Shidou turned back to Charles and said “Well, no time for your pitty party, cmon now! Its just about time you propose”
Charles sighed again and got up from the Bed. He closed the box and tucked it in his back pocket before opening the door. They walked out of the bedroom and into the Living room where they saw everyone gathered around Niko, who was standing infront of a table with a strawberry shortcake plated on it and the words “Happy 25th B-day!” Written on top.
The blonde smiled faintly at the scene showcased infront of him.
Niko looked so happy in that moment that Charles just wanted to kiss his cute face until he was certain that Niko knew how much he meant to Charles.

Charles went up to Niko and whispered “Sorry for the wait mon amour” before kissing Niko’s cheek.
Niko replied with a smile and said “its no big deal”
Aiku came up to the cake with a lighter and lit up every candle.
Everyone started to sing happy birthday,with bachira sounding extra excited and isagi having to remind him to not be to loud.
At the end of the song, Niko blew out the Candles but was confused when he looked back up from the cake and saw everyone looking shocked at the spot besides him.

The spot where Charles was supposed to be standing.

Ikki,concerned,looked at the spot that everyone was staring at and he gasped and covered his mouth with his hands.
Because there- there was Charles on one knee while holding up a black-navy box with a wedding ring inside of it.
The ring was silver and had tiny diamonds on every side with a few teal essence, and in the middle ,there was a slightly larger diamond.
“Charles…” Ikki could feel tears starting to build in the inside of his eyes.

Charles let out a breath that he didnt even know he was holding in and started his speech
“mon cherri, ever since the first day i saw you, I knew you’d be the one. I always imagined our future and how i would propose to you, because i had to make sure you’d be mine. Your always so confident and loving. You’re the only person who can light up my day in an instant. Whenever i see you , all my worries just wash away. You’re always there for me, no matter what. So know, i want to be there for you , forever and always. So Ikki Niko…”
he looked at Niko’s eyes with pure love that no other human dared to show Niko “will you marry me?”

Niko couldn’t believe his eyes. Being proposed to by the Love of his life.The person whom he shared so many memories with. The person whom he’d been on a roller coaster of emotions throughout the years with. And the person he’d soon be able to call his beloved husband.
Through happy tears he replied with “yes Charles! Yes”

Charles immediately smiled impossibly wide , got up from the floor and hugged Niko, who does the same.
Everyone around them started to clap and cheer , even the itoshi brothers were slightly smiling. Shidou was yelling “THATS MY BOY!” While putting his elbow on Aiku’s shoulder, who was wiping away a fake tear before clapping.
Charles abruptly kissed niko before taking his hand and putting on the ring after taking it out of the box.
“Oh Charles…it’s beautiful! I love it.” He looked back up at charles with streakes of tears covering his cheeks “i love you”
“ i love you too, mon amour”

They pressed their foreheads together before kurona came in the way to examine the ring.
If it were to be anyone else- Niko and Charles would’ve been annoyed, but kurona was a close friend to both of them, so they didnt mind at all. While kurona, and now sendou to, were examining the ring, charles just went up to bachira who was yelling at him to “come here”
Kurona took niko’s hand and said “wow, charles really knows you well, the ring is-

A perfect fit”

All that was 12 months ago.

now both Charles and Niko are moving past the “Fiances” titel and instead moving onto “Husbands”.

Ikki was currently in his own hotel room since he had to get ready. Sendou and Kurona were both helping him get ready.

“Damm Niko, lookin good” Niko was wearing a white-greyish suit ,A black bow and behind his head he was going to wear a veil. The suit was perfectly tailored to fit his body and it did look rlly good if he says so himself. “Well no time to look in the mirror, come sit on the chair ill do your hair.”

Kurona offered him. Niko sat in the chair infront of the vanity.

Both of them were listening to Sendou rant on and on about how the “venue could use more floweres!” or “my baby’s finally getting married!” Kurona nodded along at what Sendou was saying. Niko and Charles were the last ones to get married from their friends after all.

After a few minutes of Kurona brushing out Niko’s hair, he spun the chair so that Niko was facing him instead of the mirror on the vanity. Kurona then pulled out a drawer  and searched for something , then, pulled it out.

What he pulled out was a hair clip to clip one side of Niko’s bangs out of his eyes. “Is that really necessary?” Niko asked. Kurona knew damn well how insecure Niko was about his eyes, even after dating charles and the constant reassurance by everyone that his eyes arent “monstrous” looking but rather very adorable, he was still nervous whenever he had to show them.

“Yes yes Niko! You do want Charles to see your eyes No,No?” Niko contemplated before looking away.

He knew how much Charles loved to look at his eyes, and the only reason Niko did ever show his eyes was so that Charles could see them. At that Niko sighed and nodded

“good good. Sendou pass me the mascara please please” sendou got up from the bed and went to the bedside table. From there he took a mascara bottle and tossed it to kurona who easily caught it.

“Chin up Niko-kun” Kurona took Nikos chin and held it up high so that Niko was staring at him. He then unscrewed the mascara lid and took out the applicator to apply it on Niko’s under- and upperlashes.

Sendou came up to him to look at Niko. “Dang kurona, you really out did yourself”

“thank you thank you” Niko looked back in the mirror to look at himself. “I look, really pretty” Sendou and Kurona both smiled and started to talk about random stuff since they didnt have much else to do.

(I wonder what Charles is doing)

Not what he was supposed To, thats for sure

Charles was in a separate hotel room with both Shidou and Bachira, Charles was supposed to be wearing a black suit with a black tie and a light yellow rose attached to the small pocket next to the collar.

But currently he was only wearing his pants and a undershirt while jumping on the bed and singing the lyrics to “like sugar on my tongue” by tylor the creator-

“ LIKE SUGAR ON MY TOUNGE, TONGUE,TONGUE! TON CORPS EST SIE DOUX,DOUX,DOUX!”

Bachira was attempting to chew on a perfume bottle in the backround while singing too and rolling around the floor. Shidou on the other hand, took off his blazer to spin it in the air and turned the volume of the music up. There was glitter on the carpet for some reason and photo’s of Shrek perfectly aligned ontop of the bed frame.

It seemed more like a cult meeting than a hotel room at this point.

Just as the music was about to end, sae came in and it was like everthing froze in place. Charles, shidou and bachira stopped what they were doing, in favor of staring at sae, even the birds outside stopped chirping. “What are you doing? You know the weddings going to begin in” he looked down at his gold watch

“45 mins”

“WHAT?!” the 3 of them said simultaneously. Just then, Karasu peeked in the Room and his Jaw dropped

“Are ya guys serious right now? Ya haven’ even gotten’ ready yet, i bet Niko’d be so disappointed if he were ta be here” Charles jumped of the Bed and started to throw orders around like a sergeant.

“Bachira stop chewing on my perfume bottle and clean the glitter will you? And Shidou, can you do my hair pretty pleaseee?”

It was like someone switched a flip, not even 2 seconds ago was it complete chaos and now it was like the military. Or close enough to one.

Charles took out his suit from the closet to put it on. Miraculously it was clean and had no glitter on it.
Charles went into the bathroom to change while Bachira was vacuuming the carpet and Shidou was fixing his own suit before taking out hairstyling items.

Once Charles finally put on his suit, he got out of the bathroom and sat on his own chair, waiting for Shidou to start styling his hair.

“Alright Bro, howd ya wanna style your hair?”

“ i don’t know? How ever you think looks good I guess”

“ are you sure you’re willing to give me FULL control of your hair..?”

“….should i be scared”

“Nah nah don’t worry, id never sabotage my son on his wedding day”

“I hope not…”

Shidou started to style Charles’ hair. He was using all different kind of products, that Both Bachira and Charles were shocked when Charles’ hair didnt melt off because of the chemicals.

“Ok… just this and- Done! Howd ya think Char-boy?”

Charles opened one of his eyes to look in the mirror and- “What the fuck?”

“What? You don’t like it?”

“No no! Im just shocked that you can style hair THIS good! I look fucking amazing!”

“Phew, thank god- I thought you hated it for a second”

Bachira finally stopped vacuuming and put the vacuum to the side before looking at the clock and noticing its almost time “Hey guys! We should go! Look at the time, its been 35 minutes already”

“Aight, cmon char-man!”

Charles was standing infront of the officiant (aka loki since he couldn’t think of anyone better to be one)And he was fidgeting nervously. So many thoughts were going through his mind.

(It’s finally timeeeee! Omgg ive been waiting for this day since FOREVER!)

Charles kept sneaking nervous glances at the aisle. Both his and Niko’s parents were in the crowd with everyone else to. A few of his older siblings couldn’t come since they had their own families to take care of, but they did wish Charles all the best and that was enough for him.

He has met Niko’s parents a lot of times before, heck he had to ask them for permission to marry their son, but right now he couldnt face anyone out of pure excitement and anxiety. Looking at the parents of the boy you’re about to marry sounded so nerve wrecking right now.

His train of thoughts were stopped when he saw a slight glimmer of white in the corner of his vision. He immediately looked up and saw Niko, his new Husband Niko.

Charles’ eyes shimmered when he saw him, Niko looked absolutely gorgeous.

Niko was being escorted by Aiku (cuz i think itd be a cute idea) and he looked so nervous, maybe even more than Charles. Everything about him made Charles’ stomach twist and turn. He smiled wenn Niko went up the other side of the officiant.

Niko could barely look at Charles, he kept looking at the floor instead until Loki started speaking.

“Welcome , friends and family, and thank you for being here to witness and celebrate the union of Ikki Niko and Charles Chevalier. We are gathered in this beautiful space to acknowledge the deep love that has brought them to this day and to support their commitment to building a shared life together”

Niko glanced at Charles, who glances back smiling , as if to say (we’re finally getting married)

Then, loki spook again

“Niko and Charles, you have chosen to begin the next chapter of your lives together as a married couple. Today, in the presence of your loved ones, you will affirm the bond that connects you. To honor the journey and depth of their connection, we will now have a special reading from Kurona Ranze, who will share the story of their love with us”

“Thank you for the introduction. Since Blue lock, i have been close friends with both Niko and Charles. I introduced both of them to each other since Niko needed more friends”

giggles could be heard from the crowd and even Niko smiled

“I tought nothing much of it, until I noticed that both of them acted unusually whenever around eachother. I noticed it was love blooming and i knew i had to make them start dating since both of them were to oblivious to know the other liked them back.

So with my then boyfriend (and now husband) kiyora, i set them up, and lo and behold, it worked and they started dating! I saw them fall in love more and more throughout the years and i knew that one day, one of them was going to ask the fateful question and now here i am witnessing the bond of these two finally being bounded together”

Kurona finally ended his speech with a “thank you” and went back to his seat next to kiyora.

Loki spoke up again “thank you kurona, now for the vows, Charles you may begin”

Charles looked up at loki, smiled and looked at Niko. He then started to start his vows

“Niko, you are my life’s joy. You’re my absolute favorite and greatest gift i’ve ever received. I promise to spend my time with you forever. I promise to provide for us both and to always be there whenever, and i promise to grow with you,to be willing to face changes and challenges with you as we both age”

Loki then looked at Niko once he noticed that Charles was finished with his vows and gave Niko a quick nod , signaling he can speak now

“Charles, even though our future is uncertain, today I commit to our future together… i promise to keep that union and never take it for granted, knowing that love lasts because we choose to make it last. I vow myself to stand by you forever and to carry us both when life gets hard”

Niko looked up at Charles after finishing his vows. Loki looked at both of them, he then started talking again

“We will now move onto the ring exchange. Hikaru?”
Shidou’s and Sae’s adopted son Hikaru went up to Charles and gave him the ring Charles happily took it He then reached forward for Nikos hand and rook his right hand before taking the ring and sliding it slowly onto Niko’s ring finger.

Loki started “ repeat after me” which Charles nodded to

“I promise you my love and friendship.”

“I promise you my love and friendship”

“I promise to give you my trust and comfort you, trust you and support you.”

“I promise to give you my trust and comfort you, trust you and support you”

“I promise to be there for you when you need me the most, always and forever.”

“I promise to be there for you when you need me the most, always and forever”

Loki then looked at Hikaru again and nodded Hikaru went up to Niko and gave him the ring too Niko took it and slid it onto Charles’ finger, he then looked up and smiled at him Loki then again told Ikki to repeat after him

“I promise you my love and friendship.”

“I promise you my love and friendship”

“I promise to give you my trust and comfort you, trust you and support you.”

Loki smiled, he stepped back and proceeded with “i now pronounce you Husband, and Husband”

Charles and Niko went up to eachother and shared their first heartfelt kiss as a married couple,light but meaningful.
The crowd went wild and everyone started cheering and clapping But right now, the only thing that mattered to the newly weds, we’re eachother

Chapter Text

Niko couldn’t explain how excited he was.

Sure, he has went to a lot of different countries before,but he has never went to Europe- let alone France

Ironic no? His fiancée- or rather his Husband is french but in all their years of being together, they haven’t once traveled to france.

They were currently walking down a street near the city center of Paris.

Charles has went to Paris a few times before and knew all the best places to go to.

The blonde was rather a picky eater and for Niko, that was a big problem.

It was exhausting having to find foods that Charles actually liked.

So when he suggested going to a cafe he adored, Ikki knew the food was going to be good.

“And then Shidou was like ‘No? If you were to shave a Penguins fur off, it wouldnt be cold cuz it has fat skin’ and then Otoya said-“

“Honey, where is the cafe?”

“Hm? Oh, it’s right over there!”

Charles pointed at  a small building.

The cafe was small but looked cozy, it had a popping orange colored awning with the words ‘Aki boulangerie’ scripted on top.

There weren’t many people around or in the cafe since it was still pretty early in the morning, which Niko is thankful for since he gets overwhelmed easily in crowded areas.

Charles took Niko’s hand and pulled both of them into the cafe eagerly.

He dragged them just infront of the menu boards and they started to choose things to order.

“I just know you’ll love the chocolate croissants they have! They’re the best!”

“If you say so, then ill just get a matcha and a chocolate croissant. You?”

“Hmmmm…..ill get a dozen macaroons anddddd…. A iced latte with extra sugar!”

“Ok….can you please order for the both of us?”

Charles expected that question but he never minded ordering for the both of them “Ofc mon amour”

Charles went up to the Barista to tell her their order.

She was smiling politely when Charles came over.

« Bonjour, que puis-je vous servir ? »

(Good morning, what can i get for you?)

« Pourrais-je avoir un croissant au chocolat, un Matcha, une douzaine de macarons et un latte glacé avec du sucre supplémentaire?»

(could i please get a chocolate croissant, a Matcha, A dozen macarons and one iced latte with extra sugar)

« Bien sûr. Est-ce que ce serait tout ? »

(Of course. Would that be all?)

"Oui"

(Yes)

« ça fera 34 euros et 50 centimes s'il vous plaît »

(That will be 34 euros and 50 cents please)

Charles pulled out his wallet from his pocket and took a 50€ bill

He then gave it to the barista who took it and gave him back his 15.50€

Once done ordering,Charles came back to the table next to the window where Niko was sitting at peacefully.

“What would you like to do after we’re done eating mon ange? (My angel)”

“Where would You like to go?”

“I don’t know. Ive already been everywhere in paris so you can decide”

Niko looked away shyly, as if he were to be embarrassed about what he was about to ask “…do they have a manga store”

Charles giggled at that, not to make of Niko, but rather because it was predictable that Ikki was going to ask that.

“Yes they do, I’ve went there before and im positive that you’ll like it”

Niko visibly lit up and looked at his Husband to see him smiling back at him.

“Can we go please?”

“Ofc we can, you don’t have to ask”

Just as Niko was about to say something-a waiter came and put their food on the table between them

Charles quickly thanked the waiter before opening the box of macarons and his eyes visible glistened.

He took a pink one and bit into it, the taste sweet but nutty at the same time.

Charles hummed to express his pure happiness and relief after not eating his favorite food in a while.

Niko’s lipped curved into a small smile seeing as how a simple macaron could make his love happy with pure bliss

Ikki turned the box to face him instead of Charles and looked trough the diffrent colors. He picked a Dark purple one and took it out of the box to bite in.

“Yum” he murmured with his mouth full.

“Anyways where was i?”

He looked up like the answer was written obove.

He got that habit after watching so many anime’s and manga’s.

“Ah right! How long is the store from here?”

Charles,who had his 5th macaron in his mouth, looked back at Niko only for his view to be blocked by the box of his favorite dessert.

He moved the box away and asked “what did you say?”

“How long is the walk from here till the store”

Charles thought for a sec before looking back at Ikki and replying with

“About 10 mins. It’s fairly close”

“Then im guessing we’ll walk there”

“Mhm fine by me”

They kept on chatting for a long time while eating their breakfast

They were on their way to the manga store after eating.

Niko was ranting about the new Manga he started called “Kagaki Shojo”

Charles was listening to him and also joined in the rant by asking questions.

When they finally arrived in front of the store, Niko couldn’t stop smiling.

As an otaku, he owns a lot- and by a lot he meant A LOT of mangas, but they were all either in japanese or English. He’s been trying to get a french manga in ages but could never find one and he didn’t want to buy one online.

(I imagine Niko to have learned french from Charles after dating for so long.

He isnt fluent but he knows a lot of french and can communicate well )

Niko can tell anyone from experience that ordering any book from online is risky and dangerous. He’s had countless of times where his Mangas arrived either ripped or bend and he didn’t feel like dealing with that.

Once they finally got into the store, Niko bolted directly at the “Crime drama” genre of Manga.He wanted his first french Manga to also be his Favorite Manga so he looked trough the shelves until he finally found it.

He pulled the Yellow cover out and looked down at the titel

“Banana fish”

Was he planning on buying all of the volumes?

No

Why?

Because its a waste of money to buy 19 Mangas that you already have just for the reason that its in a diffrent language.

But he did want to buy one french Manha ,so he only bought the first Volume.

Niko turned to Charles, who was standing next to him while leaning on a wall,

And he showed him the Manga proudly,

As if it were to be a priceless piece of art.

And in Niko’s mind, it was.

He went to checkout to purchase his first ever french Manga and put it under his armpit.

When they were finally done with purchasing ,they went out to go to their next destination.

The Eiffel Tower

  𐙚𓏵𓏵𓏵𐙚                                

“Woah”

The couple were bellow the eiffel tower, looking up at the famous structure.

“Breathtaking, Non?”

“Truly is”

“We should go ontop of it!”

“What?! No! Are you trying to get us killed?”

“How could you ever die from climbing ontop of this masterpiece, mon amour?”

“Oh i dont know- maybe FALLING TO YOUR DEMISE?”

“Oh don’t be silly Ikki, We wont fall! Besides, im pretty sure they have attached a Saftey net incase someone does somehow climb over the railing”

“Its still….to high”

Charles laughed and turned his head to look at Niko

“So what was the point of buying those tickets if we won’t use them?”

“I didn’t know it was going to be THAT tall”

“So your scared?”

Niko looked back at Charles and pouted

“Im not scared, just…” he looked back up at the tower “nervous”

“Dont worry, ill make sure you dont fall”

“Ok…fine, but if i do fall im blaming this on you!”

“Eh!? What did i do :(“

“It was YOUR idea, not mine” niko looked away while crossing his arms playfully

“Ok ok, ill take full responsibility then” Charles chuckled at the ridiculous situation

“Good”

𐙚𓏵𓏵𓏵𐙚

After countless elevators and stairs, Niko and Charles finally made it to the top huffing and puffing.

“That was ‘breathing’ really ‘breathing’ fucking hard”

Niko sat in a Chair next to the small cafe built in the eiffel tower

“God- this could make up for ATLEAST 2 weeks of training”

“Yea, i can barely feel my legs”

“How in the worls do the workers get up here on daily bases?”

“I dont know- but i bet they got abs after having to do this 2 times a day”

They took about 5 minutes to catch their breathes after the intense non-workout-workout they just did.

Charles went up to the railing to look down at the city from above

Niko’s heart almost jumped out of his chest when he saw Charles get closer to the railing, scared that he’ll accidentally fall.

“CHARLES! Be careful?!”

“Im not a child Niko! I know what im doing, no need to worry yourself over nothing”

“Yes, but still!”

“Ill be cautious!”

Charles looked back down before calling out for Niko to join him in the watching

“Cmon Niko! The view’s awesome!”

Niko was hesitant at first, but after Charles took his hand softly to show that he’ll make sure he doesn’t get hurt, Niko finally peeked down

And the view was stunning

Ikki’s jaw dropped

“étonnant, non?”

(Astonishing,No?)

“c'est vraiment étonnant”

(It really is astonishing)

Charles wrapped his Arm around Niko and pulled him closer to his side

Niko glanced up at him

“baiser, mon chérie?”

(Kiss, my darling?)

Charles looked down and nodded

They shared a heartfelt kiss right there, ontop of the Eiffel tower

It wasn’t intense, nor was it lustful

It was the typ of kiss where you truly get to appreciate your partner

They parted their lips and grinned

Niko and Charles stayed ontop of the Eiffel tower a bit longer, the silence soothing and comforting.
