If anyone asked Harry, their family line was a mess.
Castiel was Jack’s father, but also Sam was. And Dean was getting back to his senses (Harry had no problem admitting that it was just because he and Sam) and therefore he started to see Jack as family.
But Harry was physically the same age as Jack, he was mentally older and he was so less powerful that it was pathetic.
“Hello, father figure.” Jack smiled at Harry.
Right. Because Jack imprinted on Harry for some mysterious reasons, and now Harry was considered another father figure for the boy.
Poor boy.
He then looked down, seeing Jack’s socks. A smile crossed his face. “Jack, you know you got mismatched socks, right?”
“Well, I put the first things I found,” Jack shrugged, before drinking the coffee Harry left before on the table.
As Harry observed him, he noticed that Jack was taking something from the four figures he was surrounded by.
Poor boy. Harry thought he needed to be saved from that destiny. The lot of them was the worst Harry could think of.
“Don’t worry, it’s fine,” Harry shrugged. “Luna does the same almost everytime.”
Jack smiled, knowing Luna very well when they both were in babysitting service, as Dean called it the first time it happened.
A sudden noise made them stand up. Harry’s wand appeared in his hand. “Stay behind me, you got it?”
Jack nodded, extremely serious, before following Harry through the halls of the bunker.
Harry opened a door, before exclaiming, his voice cracking with emotion. "Gabe!"
He looked up at the former agent of the English Men of Letters, wondering what had happened to Gabriel.
The archangel wasn't feeling well at all, worse than the last time, when Sam and Dean had told Harry he'd died, pierced by Lucifer.
Was it worse, dying at the hands of your older brother or being abandoned by the people you'd chosen to fight for?
“He was held captive by Asmodeus, the prince of Hell,” Arthur-something explained. “I saved him.”
“Why?” Harry asked, looking suspiciously at him. “What’s in for you?”
“The Men of Letters will hunt me down, now that Asmodeus told them I’m still alive. I need a safe place.” Arthur replied.
Harry scoffed. “Jack, call back Cas, Dean and Sam. They’ll choose what to do with you.” He warned, pointing at Arthur. “If you don’t like it, there’s the door.”
Then, he sat in front of Gabe, gulping and trying not to cry for his broken expression. “Hey, Gabe, do you remember me? It’s Harry Potter-Evans-Winchester. Your little lion?” Harry’s voice broke at the end, the guilty overwhelming him.
He abandoned Gabe, when Gabe was there for him, every time Harry needed him.
Harry was no better than the other archangels.
“Gabriel…” Harry leaned over, trying to catch Gabe’s attention.
“Please, don’t touch me” Gabe begged, starting to cry. “I’ll be good.”
“No,” Harry’s heart broke apart. “Gabe, it’s me. Harry. I’d never hurt you.”
Gabe sniffed, without raising his eyes.
“I’d rather die than hurt you, Gabe,” Harry whispered. “I’m so sorry for not looking out for you. I should have.”
Finally, Gabe relaxed, allowing Harry to hug him. “Please, forgive me.”
Gabe didn’t answer. Harry knew Gabe would have forgiven all of them for abandoning him, but Harry would never forgive himself for abandoning Gabe.
He deserved better.
