Chapter 1: Requests + information
Summary:
A hoard of reader inserts where you are one of Urbanshade's lesser, failed experiments raised in the facility.
Chapter Text
Information on the reader insert
Y/N will not be used in writing. They/them and occasionally, depending on the ontext it/its used for the reader's pronouns.
The reader is an experiment that was used since birth to attempt to make a "stronger, more durable" person. The attempts and experiments were deemed failed, and due to Urbanshade neglecting and not feeding or teaching the reader properly they are weak and mainly rely on instinct.
Requests [OPEN]
will do:
gore
suggestive
won't:
full on smut (sorry gang)
I may add some more later but for now this is all I got, depending on how motivated I am to do a request there's a 40/60 chance it gets done.
Chapter 2: Recaptured crystal
Summary:
The expendable found the crystal, and now you have to maneuver your way out of the Blacksite.
Chapter Text
You were nothing but a confused animal right now.
Your eyes struggled to adjust to the constantly flickering lights. Flashes of bright white constantly blinding you. Blurts of pitch black darkness leaving you confused. Struggling to maneuver your way through repetitive Blacksite halls due to disorientation you simply just had to rush through and hope you didn't run into anything. What was on your mind now was to hide. If you could find somewhere safe you could wait this madness out.
Flicker.. flicker, flicker.
On, off, on, off.
Faster you scurried through the halls. Lockers couldn't be trusted to not have void mass. Under a desk was too noticeable. Anytime a small peice of debree tumbled from collapsed walls you got startled. The Blacksite will always be an unsafe place, even for an experiment like you. Especially for something as small and human sized as you.
*Flicker... flicker, flicker...*
Finally you found a side room. You rushed in and quicky hid behind a desk, the chair spinning slighty as your tail bumped it. Settling into a corner, you took a moment to relax at last. Your eyes were closed now, giving them a break to relax from the constant headache of the flickering. The only sense you were using at the moment was your ears; nothing out of the ordinary could be heard. Unless you were forced out, you were staying right in that spot until the lights decided if they wanted to stay on or off.
Much time had passed by now, and you had almost dozed off. Head buried and tucked under your arm. Exhaustion definitely wanted you to fall into it's grip but the moment you heard an alarm blare and echo adrenaline had you moving. A voice announced through out the blacksite that ‘the crystal’ was back in the hands of Urbanshade, and that it was now the Urbanshade personell's job to track down and recapture every single loose anomaly. You hoped your hiding spot would be safe enough, though the knowledge that there was likely guardsmen swarming every dock. There wasn't much you could do but stay hidden at the moment anyway. If you ran, you ran the risk of getting captured. If you faught, you risked getting injured, captured or killed. The safest option was to hide, and then to run if you were found, and then to fight back as a last resort.
It didn't take long before there were heavy footsteps trodding around outside the door. The sound got louder as a few guards walked into the room to patrol. You couldn't tell exactly how many from sound alone, but it was two or three. There were occasional glimpses you could see of the guardsmen, and you curled up tighter into the corner. Hoping desperately you weren't caught. You shifted closer to the wall. Before you knew what was happening, a guard had his gun pointed at you and words shouted to get the others attention. You hadn't locked eyes with the barrel of the gun for long before you were already climbing and sprinting over desks and chairs. The three guards quickly pursued. One yelled something and then the door was blocked by a fourth.
Run.
In a split second decision you threw items from a desk at the guards direction. They stumbled slightly out of the way though they were unfazed. There was a sudden and loud BANG as a bullet aimed to lodge itself in your flesh. You were quick and managed to dodge luckily. Seeing you were trapped, you took the chance to rush past the guarded door. Unfortunately for you, the guardsman reacted quickly and managed to wrap their arms around you. They tried to hold on as you kicked and scratched and bit. Even when one of the guards aimed their gun at your head you didn't stop fighting. The guard holding you went to sit up, and when they did, you managed to sink your teeth right into their arm and through the fabric of their sleeve.
The guard jerked their arm away and you kicked them again. You somehow managed to escape and run off. Gunshots fired and rang in the hallway and one bullet managed to embed itself in your tail. Your cry of pain echoed through the area, and the pain made you want to collapse on the ground. It swam from your tail and through your body. But you forced yourself to keep running. The gunshots had stopped as you gained distance and after a while you had lost the Urbanshsde guards. This time you didn't stop to find somewhere to hide or rest. You didn't know what to do now. The blacksite was probably infested with the guardsmen now, and you weren't handing yourself over to them. And on top of that now, was the blood pouring from your tail. You remembered seeing expendables with green and white boxes they used to patch up their wounds, maybe you could find one of those?
The rooms turned from blue and grey, to brown and warmer colors. No matter how hard you searched you couldn't find a medkit. So far at least. The further you went the more doors you noticed were already open, though there was no sign of any Urbanshade personell. You decided to follow through the open doors. More time went by as you followed the trail. Nearby you heard a clatter, and you reacted to it by hiding in the nearest place; a locker. It was a quick decision, and you hadn't smelled anything weird from it and luckily your sense of smell was correct. It was void mass free. A few minutes passed and you heard a faint noise approaching. A scraping, slithering like noise. The small slit in between the locker doors allowed you to peak outside. A tall, serpentine man was rushing through the hall. Grey scales, messy black hair, third arm, long snake tail. You recognized him from past run ins with him. Sebastian.
Sebastian had stopped as your puddled trail of blood caught his attention. Depending on how his nose was twitching, the metallic smell had got his attention, too. You hoped he would keep moving. You didn't want to be caught again. To your dismay he followed the drops of blood to the locker and peeled the doors open. His glowing blue eyes fixed on you, who was pressing yourself into the corner of the locker. Past experiences had taught you how much stronger Sebastian was than you. He looked down at the bullet wound on your tail, back to your fearful face, and then to the direction he was heading. Sebastian growled and swore under his breath before suddenly reaching down and picking you up with ease. In return you growled and shoved against him, which Sebastian barred his teeth with a snarl in response and you quickly shut up. He picked up a large bag he had set down and continued down the hall.
The serpent man was moving swiftly, and it didn't take long for him to arrive at a dock. A row of submarines bobbed idle on the water with one empty space. Sebastian set you down next to some crates where the P.AI.nter was perched softly playing music. You were about to make a run for it, and Sebastian noticed and put a clawed hand on your shoulder.
“Stay,” he said, “we're getting out. I'm getting you out of here, kid.”
Out.
Out of the blacksite? Was that possible for you? You hadn't been anywhere else *but* the facility your entire life.
And now here Sebastian was, telling you that he was getting you out.
“Where?” You asked.
“After we get on the sub, someone'll patch your tail up,” Sebastian said, “and a few hours after we're picked up they'll drop us off at a new facility on the surface.”
“I'm not going to another lab!” You snapped.
“They won't hurt you. This lab isn't going to hurt you.” Sebastian tried to calm you down. He sighed, taking his hand off your shoulder. “You either get left and picked back up by Urbanshade or you can go with us,” he said, “either way you end up back in a lab. It's your choice.”
You stood silent for a moment, contemplating. The fact you didn't want to go back to Urbanshade was a definite. But you didn't know what would happen if you went to this new lab. At the moment you felt safer staying with Sebastian than in the Blacksite so you agreed to go. Sebastian nodded. He coiled up nearby and set his bag down. You were watching him. The bag was a good decent large size, and you were trying to figure out what was in there that needed to be brought or couldn't go in the many satchels on his tail. You also wondered why he couldn't at least start patching up your tail while you waited. Sebastian's ear fins were twitching ever so slightly and the movement would have your eyes and head darting up to look at them.
“What?” He growled.
He noticed you were watching. You just tilted your head. He stared back.
“Strange little thing...” he mumbled.
Water shifted and parted as a large submarine surfaced to dock at the bay. You sat up, observing and watching as the door to the vessel opened. P.AI.nter had stopped playing the tune and had returned back to it's usual scribble face as Sebastian scooped him up in his arm. Sebastian waved for you to follow with his third arm and you cautiously did. He had to duck and lower his body to get into the submarine. The bag was tossed to the side and P.AI.nter was set down gently on a seat along with the modern computer he was hooked up to.
“We're finally leaving,” it said, “I.. I can't believe it.”
“We did it, kid,” Sebastian smiled, “we made it out alive. You made it. No more orders, no more fighting, no more Urbanshade.”
You had sat down in a corner, studying and memorizing your surroundings. Someone in uniform had walked up to Sebastian and started discussing things with him. He pointed a claw at the bag, saying something about how it had the majority of Urbanshade data and blackmail material he managed to get in it. After discussing more of Urbanshade he gestured over to you. The person walked over and crouched next to you to examine the bullet wound in your tail. You growled and backed away.
“It's alright, I'm going to hel—”
As they moved closer you darted off and took shelter behind Sebastian's tail, who raised an eyebrow.
“Not a fan of strangers?” He snickered.
Sebastian picked you up from under the arms, made a coil in his tail and set you down in it. Before you jumped out the warmth of his tail got your attention, and you hesitantly started cuddling into it. Sebastian chuckled as you did, and he was handling your tail as gently as he could. It was still bleeding and both you and Sebastian winced. The person had brought out some medical supplies and took your tail from Sebastian's hand. He moved his hand to gently hold you down, and you were confused to why.
That was until the person started trying to remove the bullet from your tail. That's when you started flailing to get away. Sebastian was saying things to try and get you to calm down. You were in pain and on edge, chest heaving rapidly as you breathed. Clearly not happy about the situation at all. Soon enough they had the bullet out, the wound stitched up and bandanged with pain medication in your system. Your tail was against your body as soon as it was released from the person's grip and Sebastian removed the hand holding you down. To his surprise, you were staying in his coils and snuggling his tail and closing your eyes. He tapped you and tried to stir you up a bit as some food was brought out. When the smell of it hit you, you were climbing out of Sebastian's tail and going after what caught your nose. He had to hold you back and tell you to slow down as you were handed something other than fish for once. After eating and getting settled back into Sebastian's coils, your eyes were closed and you were drifting to sleep.
Sebastian was nudging you awake, and slowly pulling you from a blurry dream. A few bones popped as you stretched and yawned, and you looked over to see the submarine hatch open. Sebastian grabbed P.AI.nter once you were up and slithered off the submarine as fast as he could. Leaving you dazed and half-awake. You rushed up and followed closely as he pushed through doors to get to the outside. You jumped back as Sebastian yelled and recoiled from the outside light, covering his eyes. It took him a moment before he looked up and his eyes were pitch black with small blue dots. He took a deep breathe before stepping back out. You followed and were blinded for a moment. And for the first time you saw the outside world away from Urbanshade, filled with the sun in the sky. The blues and whites of the atmosphere and clouds. The deep green plants and trees and brown dirt.
“Welcome to the outside world, kid.”
For the first time, you saw the surface.

Chapter Text
You were laying in your cell. Eyes closed, half awake. There was a soft beep that got your attention before the door opened. A scientist and two guardsmen walked in. You curled up as one guard walked over to you, grabbed your arm and pulled you up. It was better if you just followed, you knew that from past experiences. You were taken through halls and as expected, into a laboratory room. You were led onto a medical bed that was basically just a bent metal table with rails on the side and straps. And of course the usual happened; cut open, poked with needles, little to no pain killers... just the normal routine.
After a long while of enduring excruciating pain you were left alone on the table. You laid there for a good while before trying to sit up, tugging on your restraints. They didn't let you move much and the cage muzzle on your face was uncomfortable. You tried tugging, pulling, ripping, clawing, and none of it worked to break the restraints. You looked around the room and on a nearby table was a few sharp medical objects. There had to be a way to get out. That was your next best option. You were sick of the repetitive days and just needed a quick break. Even if it resulted in you getting punished in some way, you were used to anything Urbanshade personell would do to you at this point.
You reached over. Luckily it was close enough for you. Just barely close enough to where you could reach a scalpel. You quickly started trying to cut loose the straps, and it was slowly starting to work. After little by little you finally broke free and jumped off the table and ran over to the door. You listened for anything or anyone outside, then made a run for it.
The halls were relatively empty, but you knew the cameras were tracking your movements. You followed down the hall at a quick pace, just letting yourself enjoy being able to move outside of your containment cell. Without personell breathing down your neck. Of course you were still going to suffer the consequences, and you were suffering them now with worry and guilt. But you just needed a moment out. Even if it was short.
That was, you were thinking it would be short, until you ran through halls to find the submarine dock.
One of them was open, and there were cargo crates waiting to be loaded on. You got curious and ultimately decided to sneak onto the sub and look around. You didn't smell anything interesting in the crates, or see anything that particularly interested you at all. When you heard footsteps, you jumped over and ducked behind some crates, burying yourself to hide.
It sounded like the rest of the boxes were loaded on, and not before long you heard the shuttle door close.
You tried to peak around the crates, twisting your body to see through a crack. Outside of a circular window you saw the water moving past the sub. No one knew you were on board. No one had caught notice of you yet, or had been notified. Even despite the long, long amount of time it took for the shuttle to reach the surface they still didn't know you were there.
The door opened back up, and personell started unloading the submarine. The muzzle strapped on your face pressed uncomfortably against the crates while you waited. Finally after a good long while, the crate above you was picked up and the Urbanshade worker called for the others. That's when you darted out from behind the boxes and ran out of the shuttle.
Guardsmen were quick to catch attention when you darted past them. You soon had about four chasing, shooting, and trying to recapture you. Somehow you managed to dodge all of their efforts, even when an idle guardsman was aiming for you from above. You ended up running up a spiral of stairs while you were chased, when they ended, you ran through a door into a very, very cold outside.
The cold wasn't something you were unused to, it was always cold in the blacksite. This was a refreshing cold. Open air blowing on you after heating up your body while running. The ground was covered in a coat of white, the sky fogged in grey, and that's all you could observe before you had to keep moving.
The more you ran with bare feet on the snow, the more you realized just how cold it was. You had to keep going. You had made it this far, beyond your understanding of how you even did it. You were outside. But it was absolutely freezing.
After a good minute of sprinting, you came upon a tall fence. You weren't worried, it was wired and you could easily climb it. You repeatedly hooked your hands and feet into the spaces until you were almost at the top. At the top of the fence, however, was a spiral of wire and sharp looking thorns. You paid no mind to it until you were letting out a cry of pain as they ripped your skin when you pulled yourself over the side. The thick coating on the ground cushioned your fall, and a few spots of blood stained the white. You laid there for a minute, watching as the gaurdsmen cursed under their helmets and started running along the fence. The freezing cold started seeping onto you as you let out heavy breaths, watching the mist float away when you exhaled. You quickly forced yourself back up, hoping the snow soaked up most of the blood you would lose so you wouldn't leave a trail.
You ran for so, so long and you were still trying to figure out where to go. It took forever until you came up on a road, and since it was the only thing you could find aside from trees, rocks or mountains, you decided to follow it. You continued to run at first, then you slowed into a trot, then into a fast walk, and then you stopped when you finally ran out of energy. The cold was getting worse, and you had to sit down on the side of the road. An approaching noise of a large machine caught your attention, and soon two bright lights were blinding your vision. You were trying to run again. As you stumbled, a truck pulled up and stopped beside you. An Urbanshade personell stepped out and was heading for you.
You kicked and scratched as one managed to grab your arm. They pulled out a gun, aiming for your neck.
“HEY!” They yelled as you used your free hand to grab the gun and yank it. They weren't expecting you to yank on the gun, or for you to twist it in their hand and aim it at them and manage to pull the trigger.
They fell back as the gun stunned them, and you pulled it from their hand. Another guardsman jumped out of the truck and you shot them, too. You dropped the gun and started running again.
It took days for you to get out of the snow wasteland. Luckily you were able to find water. You then ended up in a town where you had to constantly avoid being seen, because normal people did not react kindly to not-fully-human experiments. Then you ended up in the back of a cargo delivery truck. You managed to hide in there for a good long while, and dig up a box of raw fish which you managed to eat through your muzzle. You took a nap during the long ride and woke up to someone yelling and facing you. And at that point you ran again.
It was bright outside, and there was significantly more green. You were immediately met with hot concrete so you darted for the shade. There were multiple distant sounds and so many scents hitting your nose. You had to ignore all of that right now and get to safety. So you darted into the nearest forest and stayed there for a good long while. That was for a few days until you realized you had absolutely zero survival abilities, despite your instincts screaming what to do. So there was no way for you to get food out here. You ended up having had to go back into the overstimulating city and figure out how to get food.
You climbed over a brick wall to fall onto concrete, and you let out a grunt. A door creaked and you scrambled up and ran behind a dumpster. Whoever walked out threw a trashbag into it and went to walk back into the building. Unfortunately you moved, and it got his attention.
You froze and hoped he would keep moving, but of course he moved over and crouched down to see you better.
“...What in the actual...?” You didn't run this time, only stared at him as he spoke. You didn't have the energy to run this time. You had barely rest and hadn't ate. The boy wasn't calling for others like everyone else had, he was alone, and if needed, you could take him in a fight. Even with the muzzle still on.
He mumbled and stuttered out a few more words before backing off a bit. “..I have got t' be seein' things right now... hey... Hey, are.. you okay?” He crouched back down, eyeing the bloodstains on your shirt and scabs on your arms. The boy said something you couldn't understand and started to pull out his phone, getting ready to call someone, you guessed. You backed out from behind the trash can and started to climb the brick wall.
“Hey! Woah, woah! I'm not gonna call anyone, alright?!” He quickly put the phone away, holding up his hands, palms facing you. You reluctantly climbed back down. “Just... just stay here, a moment, yeah?” he said, backing away. “I'll.. be right back.”
The boy stumbled awkwardly backwards into the building. Returning a few moments later, he held a container that smelled like food. You cautiously started moving closer. He chuckled when he saw your interest, crouching back down to be eye level with your hunched and crawling form. He opened the container and took a sandwich out. You quickly snatched it from him and tried to shove it through the bars of your muzzle.
“Wait. C'mere a second,” he said, waving you over. You glanced at him, eyes flicking between his face and his hand. The boy carefully moved closer and started fidgeting with the lock on your muzzle, which was for absolutely no reason extremely complicated thanks to Urbanshade. He huffed as he failed to get it off and moved to trying to at least pry the bars apart. While you were facing eachother you studied his face. Most noticeably there was a long scar across his face, running cheek to cheek over his nosebridge. There was a smooth peice of metal stuck in his lip and a few in his ears. His hair was shoulder length and dark, and his eyes were a green-tinted blue color.
“...There, try that now.” He said after managing to loosen and bend the bars so you could decently eat now. Which you did, diving in and starting to devour the sandwich. “Hey, hey, no, slow down,” he sighed, “I can't get this damn thing off right now. Just wait, alright?... Oh, uh... name's Sebastian, by the way...”
He crossed his legs as he sat next to you, and you were slowly relaxing. He had no idea if you could understand him or not, but it was worth a shot. You tensed as he put a hand on your head, looking up at him. He retracted his hand and put them up, palms facing you, which you were guessing might be a habit of his.
Sebastian checked his phone and he cursed, jumping up. This caused you to scuttle back a bit, startled.
“Shit, shit, sorry– I've got to get back to work. I'll be back to get you in a minute, alright? Just hang on for a bit.”
The boy was gone in a few moments back into the building. So now you were waiting behind the dumpster. Patiently waiting for him to return, because right now he was the only hope of staying safe you had.
Notes:
