Chapter Text

Obi-wan is dead, watching Luke and Anakin as he returns to the light. Obi-wan is happy, he really is it's just... As he watches he can't help but bet stuck in what ifs.

What if he fought harder for Ahsoka? What if she never left the Jedi? What if someone else became Anakins Master? What if the jedi fought more against the Senate's Orders? What if Shmi was freed earlier? What if Qui-gon lived? What if we found Anakin earlier? And Obi-wan got stuck on that train of thought.

Anakin was a slave for 9 years of his life and there was a divide between himself and the other Jedi and something Anakin always struggled with was feeling like he didn't fit in that he doesn't belong. Anakin grew up in an entirely different culture he didn't understand the Jedi's and everyone expected him to act like a Jedi. He was only 9 years old and already a Padawan there was a divide between him and the other children he was 9 and knew nothing, wasn't even a proper Jedi and was already a padawan? They didn't get along and Anakin had no strong connections with the Jedi except Obi-wan him self.

It was no wonder he went to Palpatine, he was a scared lonely child and Palpatine knew exactly how to exploit that. If Anakin was found sooner he would have grown up with a clan, went to classes in the beginning, grew up in Jedi culture, and would have learned the difference between love, relationships, and attachment and how to properly process his darkness.

Meanwhile the Force was watching the same thing and was also happy Anakin chose the light but... It wasn't happy he became a Sith in the first place, the Force doesn't hate often but it really doesn't like Sidious and what he's done to the galaxy, the jedi, the Forces creation. The Force was fine with the war it's seen plenty of war in it's existence, it's even become fond of the clones and it was happy watching them with their Jedi. The Jedi make friends and allies but they rarely let people get close and they rarely let others in but with the clones...

The Force hated it could do nothing. It tried to warn the Jedi so many times it sent so many visions but the Jedi were so determined to 'focus on the present' and the Force understands, it really does, but it was sending these visions for a reason. It was exited when Sifo-Dyas touched that Sith artifact and became so much more open to the Unifying Force he wasn't ment for it but someone was finally getting it's messages! But no one listened to him. No one tried to prepare he told them the younglings were killed, that the jedi were all killed, that the Temple was burning, but no one listened. Sifo-Dyas was just told to focus on the present.

Then the Force met Obi-wan, he was so light and so connected to the Unifying Force, when Yoda started meeting with the child it thought he would realize what the Force was trying to say!... But he only worked with Obi-wan to cut his connection with the Cosmic Force. The Jedi always warn against ignorance, it's the second line in the current code yet their ignorance played a part in their own destruction. They had two Seers with the same visions and both were told to focus on the present and one had their Sight weakened. The Force wasn't sending these visions to be ignored..!

But the Force didn't loose interest just because Obi-wan lost the connection he should have had with the Force and it's glad it didn't. His life has been crazy but he never lost faith in the Force, he always believed in it, his light never wavered, it couldn't help but start calling him Everlight. The Force even decided that Anakin would be his padawan years before they met but.... It wasn't supposed to happen the way it did. Obi-wan wasn't ready to start teaching Anakin yet and Anakin wasn't ready to learn from him, if Qui-gon hadn't died and they waited until Anakin was 12 like the rest of the children..

The Force felt Anakin join the Force but left him alone to acclimate and get used to being dead the Force should do a welcome party Shmi would want to see him, the Lars, Obi-wan, Yoda, Qui-gon, Cin, Xanatos, Feemor, Dooku, Komari, Raeft, who else? Would the clones want to come?

The the Forced noticed one of it's favorites and drifted its conscience closer and listened to him thoughts curiously. Mortals were interesting Obi-wan was currently going through different scenarios where his padawan was found early. The Force sent a vision and tried to get that to happen but it was again ignored, Obi-wan was thinking on what could have been different and imagining himself holding Anakin as a baby and the Force wonders why it didn't make one of the Jedi pregnant

The Force sent some visions to Jedi when Anakin was 6 but it knows how the Jedi treat visions it just thought if they saw a child on what was clearly Tatoonie they would have checked it out, there aren't that many desert planets with 2 suns and it was going to point them in the right direction but nothing.

It continued to watch Obi-wans mind imagining younger Anakin in the Temple and wondered why that couldn't have happened in this timeline...! Timelines! That's it! He's already primed for it being a Cosmic Force user, if the Force gave a younger version of him this ones memories he'd think it was a powerful vision! The Force would have to do it when the connection was still strong but not too young maybe 11? 12?

He'd have years to prepare and while he does that the Force has to decide who would carry Anakin would it choose Shmi? Or a Jedi? But what Jedi would even work? The Force decided not to use a Jedi for a variety of reasons but the biggest reasons Obi-wan would take care of.... How old was Obi-wan when Anakin was born again?

No, no, oh no, the Force miscalculated.

It grabbed Obi-wan soul and chose a version of him around 11 years old the Force thinks a few months from being 12 and he had biology that would work and he was so connected to the Unifying Force and it didn't mean too but it kept going back to check on him while he got used to this time and the Force accidentally added Anakin in that Obi-wan body instead of older Obi-wans!

The Force just finished creating Anakin and he just needed a physical body but time is weird and the future hasn't caught up to the past yet because the timeline hasn't solidified so the Force about to release Anakin snuck a glance at young Obi-wan and Anakin currently a being made of only the Force right now and not understanding existence and he somehow got away and in younger Obi-wans womb instead of the older one...

He doesn't even know about the difference of his current biology from his old biology! He's to young for the talk! What has the Force done?!

Obi-wan was currently walking to lunch with his friends it still doesn't feel real, it's been forever since he's seen Quinlan and Bant, Reeft and Siri died and Garen disappeared. He's been so busy panicking, meditating to release his emotions in the Force because there are a LOT of emotions, making plans for so many scenarios (he should actually comm Mand'alor Meerel soon to warn him), training and secret training.

It's... Nice to just be in the moment for once, surrounded by his friends laughter and Force presences but then a new presence appeared, a familiar one. Obi-wan stoped walking and looked behind himself expecting to see Anakin but he just bumped into Reeft (he loves food why is he in the back?) And that caused the whole group to stop while Obi-wan started looking around more and more panicked where was Anakin?

"Obi-wan?" Bant says, confused and scared and that grabs Obi-wans attention but she's staring at his stomach? Why wo- Obi-wan freezes and and shifts his hand there in noval when he sees where the signature he was looking for was.

Obi-wan remembers when he first met Van’ia. It was a few weeks after he got to the past still off kilter from being in the Temple again filled with so much life.

Obi-wan couldn’t sleep so he snuck out to watch the sunrise and started thinking about his men again. He remembered the happy times they spent together, he remembered finding things online about Mandalorian culture for them, he remembered teaching them what he knew but he wishing he knew more.

Obi-wan was sad and lonely and before he knew it he was walking to the Mandalorian district. He didn’t change his clothes and it was obvious he was a jet’ika but Van’ia still let him into their small cafe/restaurant.

It was… nice. Peaceful. He forgot how much he loved tiingular even if he couldn’t eat at the spice level he used to, but he can still handle a strong amount. Van’ia did say something weird about even being a jetti can’t stop the stewjoni tongue?

But besides that weird comment nothing weird or bad happened to him, Van’ias area is full of mostly Haat’mando’ad or people that like Mand’alor Meerl more that the New Mandalorians origins or Kyr'staad even if they haven’t sworn to him officially.

The foods good, Van’ia won’t ask to many questions beyond are you in danger and are you ok if Obi-wan wanted to stay a few days, and he just needs to lay low while he figures things out.

Like why can he get pregnant?! He’s a boy!… when in doubt check the holonet.

Quinlan Vos worried for his best friend and tired of all the rumors and theories he keeps hearing (including one where he's the father, he knows he’s almost 15 but really!?)

Quin knows he can find Obi-wan, he just needs the masters disgraced so he can sneak out. Luckily Bant is just as worried for Obi and is willing to distract the Tempe so he can sneak in and follow their bond. But Bant says if they do something like filling the fountains with soap it will be obvious it's a distraction considering the situation and they need something real and she wants to have a public fight with the next person she overhears talking about Obi-wan.

 So they both agree she’ll start a public fight with Bruck and bring a lot of their issues to the surface. This makes them both hesitate but… someone got Obi-wan pregnant, the Jedi have failed them and they need to see how much they’ve failed their entire clan and Obi-wan isn’t a one off thing, he’s just the one they failed the most and they need to make sure someone isn’t failed like him again.

Their clan learned more about stewjoni after Obi-wan ran away and Bruck decided to make fun of Obi-wan by saying things like masters would never want that kind of vulnerability in the field and repeating things he saw online when he shouldn't have access but he knows better than to say things in front of Masters.

He even made a comment saying that the only way he'd get a master is if he pleases them and Bant knows Bruck didn't understand what he was saying, only repeating what he found online. The comment was offhand Bruck wasn't even paying attention to what he said at that point but she decides bringing it up in a fight is the perfect distraction. The masters are getting more desperate by the hour and they'd want to know more, especially because it fits the situation

So during lunch she snaps at Bruck like she always wanted to do, this boy is supposed to be their clan mate and he's done nothing but hurt Obi-wan and Bant just yells and yells and brings up all the other things Bruck has done to make Obi-wan miserable, how he always pays attention in class because he knows Bruck will destroy his notes and homework, how Obi-wan always did extra training because Bruck purposefully trips him with the Force during class, all the taunts, all the snide comments and all the lies Bruck has told their crèche master how Bruck says Obi-wan is bullying him and lying about why the fights happen so he gets punished not Bruck.

she goes on and on about how sad Obi-wan is, how he just wants to make the masters happy but doesn't go to them for because he knows they'll just ignore him and she ends it all off yelling how she wouldn't be surprised if one did hurt him because as long as they give an ounce of affection and praise he'd accept it.

Bants crying at this point and when her creche master tries to comfort her Bant pushes them away “don't pretend you care! no one does! My friends and I have been taking care of each other for years!”

Master Valmna frowns “I do car-“ “no you don’t!” Bant interrupts “you don’t care! I don’t think you even like us! You always believe Bruck and his friends when they tell you their lies and ignore the rest of us when we tell you the truth!”

Bant sobs “everyone in this temple hates us! None of you care! Everyone thinks Quin will fall! If he does too well on a test they think he cheated! You give him random extra meditations to balance himself, he's always told he needs to mind his emotions and attachments! A nickname in the temple is literally falling boy! You all think he'll snap one day!”

More masters, knights, padawans are appearing and watching, no one able to speak up and intervene.

“Everyone makes fun of Garen because he wants to join the Exploracorps! So what he doesn’t want to be a padawan!? You all say he chose that because he knows no master would want him! how he'd probably constantly fail at being a padawan! You make fun of him for stumbling over his words, saying he’d ruin negotiations and a coward for not wanting to fight!”

“And Siri doesn't want her tubes tied when she's older! like how so many others in the order do so they don't get pregnant! But she keeps getting pressured to do it! Saying she’ll regret it when she gets pregnant! She doesn't want others to tell her what to do with her body!” Master Valmna frowns more and moves towards Bant to stop this but Bant Force pushes her “everyone keeps saying she won't get picked as a padawan because no master wants to risk their padawan getting pregnant! they say she'll probably leave the order! They talk! But she wants nothing more than to become a padawan! And help people!”

“And and, Reeft loves food! and helps the cook in the kitchens sometimes, but everyone makes fun of how much he likes food! He's called chubby and fat! They talk about how surprised they are he can keep up in training! And now Reeft he hates looking at himself in the mirror! His Force presence twists now when he's eating or grabs seconds!” Bant sobs sounding more and more hysterical, in the Force she’s releasing so much pain and sadness and the audience gets glimpses of memories.

Bant goes quiete, releasing quiete sobs “they, they say I’d be a terrible padawan, I get extra training for saber class, they constantly tell me I’d be a liability on the field, they say my species would restrict me from some missions because I needs water,” Bant releases another broken sob backing into a wall and sliding against it down “they say I’m dumb and would never make it, how I can't handle the pressure, they say I’m too emotional and let my emotions cloud my judgment too much”

“We’re outsiders!” Bant wails projecting all their pain and suffering they’ve experienced over the years, how they’ve had to comfort each other “we’re the different ones! And we’re so tired, we rely on each other so much and take care of each other because we have no one else! I’m so scared of growing up because we’ll be separated! And alone! all taking different paths! We- we thought of mind healers but when I brought it up my creche master she scolded me!” More broken sobs escape “ said- said a proper jedi releases their fear and worry and other emotions to the Force!”

Bant sobs, putting her head in her knees and curling up and she sobs and sobs projecting everything in the Force, not just her pain but her friends as well. She pushes all this out, hiding the small satisfaction she feels at their plan working. She knows soon the entire temple will be buzzing with videos, they’ll spread beyond the Temple and soon others will speak up about their own problems, experiences, or things they witnessed that others thought was normal when it's not.

There's going to be reforms, no one is happy but Bant, and she hides her satisfaction at their guilt by projecting more painful memories of her and her friends patching up saber wounds on Obi-wan in secret. Things need to change

Quinlan has been traveling for over an hour but he finally managed to find Obi-wan who’s in the mandalorian district? It’s a good hiding place no one would think to look for him there, Quinlan only managed to find Obi-wan because of their bond.

He sneaks around avoiding being seen but when he sees Obi safe and sound happily eating some food and typing something on a holopad, Quin can’t help but slamming the door open and hugging Obi-wan.

He’s safe, Quin was terrified maybe whoever got him pregnant was going to find him first “who got you pregnant! I’ll kill them!” Quin demands harshly and Obi-wan flinches slightly at the anger swirling in his friends Force presence.

Worse the other mandos of course heard, Quin what were you thinking?! Your usually more subtle when it comes to touble! 

“What” Van’ia says flatly and the Obi-wan flinches again at the anger in the Force. Other patrons are shifting and anger, unease and horror is filling the building. Then when Mace enters the door Obi-wans internal panic gets even worse, what are they doing here?!

A couple Mandalorians straightened at the sight of a Jedi many standing up but Mace ignores them and goes straight to Obi-wan but Van’ia steps in front of him “what is going on here” they growl 

Mace glances at the Mandalorian before kneeling focusing on Obi-wan “that is what I would like to know, Obi-wan I don’t know what happened to you but you need to tell me what happened” Mace says softly “was it a Master? A knight? I promise no matter who it was that got you pregnant they’ll face consequences”

Obi-wans eyes are wide, he knew they would think- but that’s not- “yo-you don’t understand-and I- ” “Obi-wan” Mace interrupts “your eleven, your pregnant, whoever did this to you hurt you and they need to be punished” Mace shifted so he was sitting on his legs “you were abused, I don’t know what lies you were told but you’re not in trouble, you won’t be punished and you don’t have to carry to term, you can get a abo-"

“NO!” Obi-wan shrieked taking a step away and wrapping his arms around his stomach “you- you can’t, you can’t” Mace put his hands up “ok, ok but who did this?” 

Obi-wan hesitates and glances around to everyone staring at him before looking back at Mace and responds “no one” Maces face softened but before he can say anything Van’ia kneeled and hit their hand on Obi-wans shoulder “adiik” oh, how can there be so much grief in one word “you don’t have to protect them, if your scared of the Jetti then you can stay with me and you’ll be morut’yc, the Haat Mando’ade can cabuor you”

Quinlan and Mace stiffen and Quinlan hugs Obi-wans by pulling him into Quins side side and glares at the Mandalorian “you can’t just take my brother!” Surprise and confusion fills the Force but before Van’ia can reply the door opens again

Obi-wan blinks, and blinks again, he thinks he’s dreaming, that must be what’s happening, this is all just a crazy dream because Master Fay couldn’t have just walked through the door… right?

Fay looks around the establishment taking everything in before turning to Obi-wan smiling softly “hello Ever Light it’s nice to finally meet you, the Force has been quite insistent I find you” Obi-wan continues to stare dumbly in a mix of awe and confusion 

Mace stands up putting his hands in his sleeves “and you are? I can feel your a Jedi” Fay smiles kindly and Mace giving him a small nod “I’m Fay it’s been a few hundred years since I’ve last been in this planet”

Mace eyes go wide and he straitens “Ma-master Fay?! What, what are you doin-doing here?” He gives a deep bow and manages to mostly keep his voice normal but his Force presence twists wildly 

Mild amusement fills Fays eyes while the Mando’s shift around caution and protectiveness filling the Force “I’m here for the Ever Light” she explains gesturing towards Obi-wan “I’ve been having visions, have you explained there’s no father yet?” she asks calmly

Anger flares in the Mandalorians “how can there not be a father” asks a Mando angrily glaring at Fay who merely blinks “su cuy’gar and a Force pregnancy” the Mando scoffs “the Demagolke who did this is a dar’buir but someone got the ad pregnant”

Fay tilts her head “not a forced pregnancy, a Force pregnancy, there is literally no father, the Force put a baby in him”

This caused shouts of outrage and many Mandalorians started yelling. Fay tried to calm them but the only response was “you’re just trying to protect them!” They know the Jetti have magic but the magic can’t get a child pregnant.

“HEY!” Quinlan yells holding Obi-wan who has small tears in his eyes “you're scaring Obi!” This gets the Mandalorians to quit. Obi-wan glances around “I didn’t have sex, no one touched me this was actually the Force” 

Mace glances at Obi-wan and Fay before saying “even if it was possible for the Firce to do this which it’s not, then why him? He’s eleven, why not a Master or at least a Knight” he asks Fay crossing his arms because the idea of the Force doing this is ridiculous but Master Fay is thousands of years older than him and a well respected Jedi

“Because the Force told me and it’s been quite insistent I come here to tell the you because the Force knows you wouldn’t believe Ever Light when he told you” Fay explains “you’d think it was a coping mechanism, that he was in denial about being raped and calling the baby a gift from the Force” Fay shrugs “you don’t believe me but when you test the babies blood you’ll find no other blood but Ever Lights and weird things from the Force itself but I don’t know how that would appear”

Obi-wan feels anger rise in Van’ia who was about to start yelling so he interrupts “ok! It doesn’t matter if you believe us or not because like Master Fay said, blood tests will show like 90% of my DNA maybe less with whatever the Force is doing but I’m keeping him” Obi-wan crosses his arms and glares at both Van’ia and Mace “and you can’t force me to get rid of Anakin"

Sadness and anger and grief fills the Force but Obi-wan refuses to back down and Fay smiles and says “the Force is helping your pregnancy but you should still get a checkup” 

Mace sighs but nods “fine, we’ll go back to the Temple an-“ “no” Van’ia says stepping forward “I’m still convinced this is a coverup, Ben in going to a baar’ur to get a full work up for the pregnancy and to look for sexual or any other types of abuse”

Maces frowns but nods “I know a fight I won’t win, I understand your concerns so I’ll allow it but I’m coming along”

Van’ia crosses their arms “what part of you’re being investigated for abuse do you not understand-“ “ok!” Obi-wan yells stepping between them “how about you both wait outside while the baar’ur does my check up and Quinlan comes inside with me so I’m not alone while Fay goes back to the Temple to explain everything” the 2 adults glare at each other but reluctantly agree.

Obi-wan relaxes slightly and signs “ok, good, good, and please don’t kill each other or harm each other, please”
