Until Dawn

Summary:

When a group of friends visit a remote cabin house, they keep experiencing death every night over and over. Will they be able to make it to dawn or become a creature of the night?

Chapter Text

So I wanted to write a LOG fan fiction inspired by the horror movie until dawn. I was wondering if you guys would read it. I'm new to the writing thing so please be kind and patient.

Criticism is allowed as long as its helpful rather than rude.

Would you guys read this? I wanted to write it because its close to October.

Leave comments to let me know.

Also Kings Honor inspired me with Kingdom Come to write my own horror story.

Chapter 2: Prologue

Notes:

So this is the beginning. I'm sorry if it isnt good but it felt kinda rushed and this is what i had written down. Hope its good so far, even if i don't like it I hope you do. Again this is my first fanfic so please tell me if you guys like it so far. Also I changed the girl to an OC because it fit my plot and idea more.

Chapter Text

Branches and leaves crunched beneath Arianas feet as she speed through the woods, her harsh breaths the only other sound in the rather quiet forest. She was determined to make it, to not die.

Her long blonde hair whipped around her face as she looked around, frantic and desperate for a place to hide, before he found her. She could hear his cold, mean laughter somewhere behind her and ran faster. That sick fucking bastard.

"No, no, no, no." She repeated like a mantra under her breath. "Please don't get me, not again."

She ran to the edge of the forest, her heart hammering wildly in her chest. Ari tried to look at her surroudings but it was hard in the thick fog that coated the area.

She squinted her green eyes, trying to see where her car was. If she remembered correctly this was where she parked it. She darted through the fog until she could barely see a thing.

She could hear the mans horrid voice somewhere in the distance but not what he said. Good, he wasn't close enough which meant she still had time. She ran faster, hope filling her with a newfound warmth. She could barely make out her car but it was there.

She dug her keys out of her pocket with shaky hands as reached her car, trembling so much she barely unlocked it. Once inside her car she let out a sob of relief, starting up her car. She drove with shaky fingers gripped tightly around the wheel like a lifeline.

She felt a rush hope wash over her as she drove down the deserted road away from the fog, the fucking maniac of a man, and the house. But just as she was getting some decent distance away, her car came to a complete stop out of nowhere.

"No, no, no please god no!" Ariana panicked desperately trying to get the car tl start smacking the wheel over and over again. She couldn't believe it she had gotten so far, it couldn't stop now. "Fuck please start" She was so desperate to get the car to work she didn't notice the man approaching her car.

He tapped on her window with a fake soft smile only one who delivers death can manage. Arianas breath stilled, her heart beating erratically as she felt all hope vanish from her body. "No please I can't die again." She pleaded to no one in particular slamming her fist against the wheel.

The man smirked cruelly, pity lighting up his dead eyes. He reached for her door handle and yanked it open with cold precision. Arianas scream catches in her dry throat as the man slammed her head repeatedly on her wheel, her head bashed and bloody. He gave her a small smile, pating her head. "Goodnight sweetheart."

Chapter 3: 1 year later

Summary:

One year after Ariana Henderson, a good childhood friends of the REU friend group (and also a friend of the Heathens once she met them), went missing. The friends try to find answers and really be a group again.

Chapter Text

It had been one year since that dreadful day that Ariana Henderson was declared missing then dead when no one could find her.

Her friends were left devastated, grief stricken that one of their own were taken from them. They couldn't deal with the fact that Ariana died. It just wasn't like her to go missing. She was to much of a social (media) butterfly, too loving, caring and bubbly to just disappear on everyone.

Which is why, after a whole year, they finally decided to investigate her death. Thats why they found themselves on the road, driving toward a destination they hoped would provide them with answers. Or closure.

In one car, there was Jeremy Volkov and his boyfriend, Landon King wirth Landons twin, Brandon and his boyfriend, Nikolai Sokolov and Mia Sokolov with her girlfriend, Glyndon King.

In the second car, there was Eli King and his boyfriend, Killian Carson. Also in the car, Creighton King and his boyfriend, Remington Astor.

In the third car was Gareth Carson with his fiance Kayden Lockwood, and Vaughn Morozov with his boyfriend, Yulian Dimitriev

Nikolai looked at Brandon, who was sleeping peacefully in the backseat since he wanted to be alone, with a yearning expression. He sighed to himself then glanced at Glyndon who sat in the middle of him and Mia, texting on her phone. He took out an earbud and leaned over. "So, what exactly is the plan when we get there? Is there gonna be a ritual or something we have to do?"

Mia scoffed, reaching over her girlfriends shoulder to swat her older brother on the back of the head. "Niko!" She gave him a disapproving look.

Glyndon innocently looked up. "I wasn't expecting a ritual at all." She looked confused. "More like a closure ceremony."

"We dont need closure she isn't dead" Brandon said softly from the backseat. He had finally woken up, his brown curls a disheveled mess, his once bright blue eyes dim and exhausted.

Landon, who was driving, cast a quick glance at his brother through the rearview mirror, a shared look of understanding passing between them. Out of all of their friends, they were the closest to Ariana. She had grown up with the Kings because she had a bad homelife. And since she was twenty three, she was close to the twins. So for her to just...disappear off the face of the earth without even telling them was strange and unsettling. Hopefully this trip helped them find her.

Nikolai sputtered, looking slightly panicked. "Lotus Flower, I didn't mean it like that, I was just asking what to expect."

Brandon gave him an unimpressed look, tired of everyone walking on eggshells around him, like he was some fucking fragile thing that would break. "Nikolai. Just stop." He said closing his eyes again.

Nikolai looked like he wanted to say something else, his mouth already open when Jeremy shot him a warning look from the passenger seat that immediately shut him up. Nikolai slumps in his seat sulking and pouting like a petulant child. Glyndon pats his arm sympathetically and the car goes quiet again.

In the second car, Eli King, the normally controlled, composed man was driving tensly, clenching the wheel tightly, looking on the verge of ripping the damn thing off. This whole trip was pissing him off. Ariana Henderson was dead. It was a fact he long since learned to accept. He knew it in his gut when every text sent was left on delivered. Every call sent straight to voicemail. Every attempt at contacting her failed. But his cousins and younger brother were determined to find the girl alive and Eli didn't have the heart to voice his thoughts aloud. So here he was driving them towards answers and in his honest opinion, closure.

His boyfriend, Killian, sat in the passenger seat staring out the window bored out of his mind but coming to support his man. Killian occasionally glanced at Eli out of the corner of his eye, making sure he was doing ok. When he noticed his boyfriend trying to practically tear the wheel off, he placed a hand on his thigh rubbing soft circles on his trousers. Eli jerked slightly at the motion but relaxed a bit which was all the progress Kilian could hope for right now.

In the backseat, Creighton was asleep, his head in Remington's lap, face buried in his thighs. Remi ran his fingers through Creightons dark hair in a soothing gesture. Remi sighed, looking on as the outside passed by them in a blur of colors as Eli drove at a fast speed. The world seemed so lively and bright, so unlike the feelings of all him and his friends. He really hoped this trip would let him heal fully. Like Killian, he hadn't wanted to go, because this whole idea seemed depressing to him, but he wanted to be his boyfriend. Plus this was the first time in awhile they had all collectively gotten together. And he was excited to see his friends again. So yeah he was here.

In the third car, Kayden Lockwood drove calmly, with Gareth on his phone in the passenger seat. He was texting Killian his brows furrowed. Yulian was cuddling with Vaughn in the backseat. The whol reason they were here was because the were the firs Heathens Ariana had befriended. She was the first to know that Gareth had been sleeping with Kayden and the first to know about Yulian and Vaughn. She was a good friend to them and now she was gone.

They were all determined to find out what happened to her.

They all pull up to a shitty old gas station, standing in a hunched circle, watching the last message they had ever gotten from Ariana, playing on Brandon's phone.

***The video***

Ariana's voice crackeld over the video. "Hey Brandon, Landon, please listen." She played with her blonde hair, gathering her thoughts before speaking again. "Look, I'm sorry about the fight and my abrupt goodbye, but I need you to know it wasn't your fault. I just wanted to get out for awhile. I felt so suffocated in this city I can't explain it but I'm sorry if I hurt you with what I said. I promise I'll be back soon okay? Tell everyone bye for me. Love you guys" And that was the end. It was recorded in front of this very same gas station. The friends looked at the gas station like it was a creepy mansion atop a hill rather than some shitty place.

Killian looked around kicking a rock with his shoe. "Wow. This place looks eerie and depressing." He pointed out.

"Killian!" Mia scoffed, smacking her cousins arm, with a glare.

Killian stared blankly at her. "What? This place is fucking depressing to be a whole year after Ari went missing."

Remington looked spooked, his normal carefree expression replaced with a slightly haunted expression. " So this is where she last resided?" He turned to Brandon.

Brandon nodded sighing deeply. "Yes which is why we are here again."

Glyndon, ever the optimistic one, looked around at the group. "I think we should join hands." She told her family: Landon, Brandon, Eli, and Creighton.

Landon rolled his eyes. "Really Glyn? Are you serious right now?"

Glyndon glared at him. "Hey we always used to do it as kids with Ariana. It was our thing. Maybe if we do ot now, we'll feel some of her residual energy." She said, pouting, a wave of fresh sadness washing over her and settling deep in her bones.

Landon blinked. "You've got to be fucking kidding me? You don't actually believe in that shit, do you?"

Mia glared daggers at him. "Hey leave her alone! Its a thoughtful idea." She moved to Glyns side, wrapping a protective arm around her waist, placing a kiss on her temple. "Fucking ignore him, baby."

Glyndon melted into the embrace, smirking at Landon. "See Mia thinks my idea was good and she knows I have something special going on. And so does Bran."

Creighton scoffed. "Special something? Your biggest special achievement was when you sensed Gareth was fucking our professor." He deadpanned with an unimpressed look.

Glyndon crossed her arms over her chest defensively. "Well I was clearly right." She gestured to Gareth and Kayden.

Brandon laughed, a small smile playing on his lips. "Well that wasn't hard to figure out when Gareth kept coming up with lame ass excuses as to why Kayden needed him in his office."

Gareth pouted acting offended. "Hey we are right fucking here!"

The friends laughed, as Kayden pulled Gareth closer.

"But seriously we should hold hands like we used to do with Ari. It'll feel like shes still here and maybe we'll get some signal or sense as to where she went." Glyndon said, a desperate pleading edge to her voice.

Eli sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Your ridiculous, Glyn, you know that? A real mad woman." He said but he still joined hands with her, Landon, Brandon and Creighton. Even though he thought Ariana was dead, he would do this for his delusional family members.

Landon huffed, annoyed by his little sisters antics, but like Eli, he still joined hands with them.

Brandon, of course, was quick to agree. In Landons opinion, he was enabling Glyns bullshit. "Lets do it!"

Creighton gave no comment, just joining hands with them. Remington also joined since he also had grown up with Ariana.

Glyndon closed her eyes. "Okay, lets all close our eyes and clear our minds. We need to focus on our breathing and tune the rest of the world out." She instructed, squeezing Creighton's and Brandon's hands. "We need to breathe in. Out. In. Out. In. Out..."

"Guys watch out!" Kayden shouted just as the heard a loud honk, followed by a big van barreling down the road straight at them. The King family and Remington quickly move out of the way.

"Hey watch where your fucking going!" Eli shouted, pissed.

"Slow the fuck down!" Landon added with a scoff.

"Dumbasses" Kayden mutters under his breath with a shake of hi head. He really did care about his students (not that he'd ever admit that) - or more like ex students since he wasn't their professor anymore - but they could be real idiots. Like this little trip. He was just like Eli and knew deep down in his gut Ari was dead. She had to be. There was no way she was alive as popular and as much of a social butterfly as she was. But he wouldn't voice these opinions out loud for fear Gareth would be mad at him. So here he was with Gareth, watching over these college kids so no one else would get hurt.

Landon turned on him. "Excuse me? Who do you think your calling a dumbass?" He stepped closer.

"The people dumb enough to hold hands and do some dumb psychic shit in the road." Kayden dead panned, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips at getting on Landons nerves. Those two argued almost as much as Killian and Kayden.

Landon opened his mouth to protest again when Nikolai spoke up.

"Hey, where'd Bran go?" Niko asked, looking around.

Killian pointed at the gas station. "In there."

Nikolai started going after him, when Jeremy stopped him with a firm hand on his shoulder. He was the only one besides Brandon who could calm the wild Nikolai down. "Niko, give him space, okay man? I know its hard but he needs some time to himself."

"Yeah lets not forget why he dumped your ass." Landon added in, scowling at Nikolai. "Because you wouldn't give him space after Ariana went missing. You wanted to be with him 24/7 like some pathetic puppy."

Jeremy glared at Landon. "Кукла, stop." but the damage was already done. Nikolais face fell, looking furious and heartbroken.

"Thats too fucking far Landon, even for you. I wanted to be there for him because it hurt me to see him so fucking sad without being able to do a damn thing about it! I was trying to be a good fucking boyfriend!" He sounded broken.

Landon scoffed. "By always being up his ass? You know Brandon is the most sensitive out of us and Arianas disappearance hit him the hardest! All he wanted was space! But no you couldn't give him that!"

Nikolai sighed, looking defeated. "I just wanted to be there for him, but instead I pushed away the most important person in my life."

Glyndon taking pity on Nikolai stepped up with Mia. "Lan, let him be. He only did what he thought he was supposed to. Stop being an ass to him, please."

Landon closed his mouth while Nikolai sat at a bench across the gas station, head in his hands.

Meanwhile in the gas station, Brandon was getting a small protein bar and coffee. The gas station was a small old timely place, like something from the 1900's. He filled the cup with the blackest coffee he could, just how he liked. He heard the cashier whistling an old song and he approached the checkout counter with his purchases.

The man smiled warmly. "That all?" He asked gesturing to his purchases. Bran nodded and the man told him his total. "That will be six dollars and twenty five cents."

Brandon handed him the money with a quiet thanks before he turned on his heel to exit. It hit him however that since this was the last known location of Ariana, maybe this man had seen her. Maybe he had worked here last year, maybe even spoke to her. He turned back around in such a rush, it made his head spin. He went back to the checkout counter.

"Hey by any chance, were you working here last year?" He asked nervously, fidgeting with his hoodie strings.

The man nodded. "Almost everyday for the last 20 years, why, kid?"

Brandon pulled out his phone finding a picture of Ariana. Swallowing past the lump in his throat, he asked, "Have you seen her before?"

The man examined the picture. "She looks like a beautiful young girl. Did she go missing?"

Brandons blood ran cold, his heart pounding and every warning bell in his head going off. "I I never said she was m-missing." He managed to say backing up a little.

The man gave him a sad distant look. "Your not the first person who has come around here asking if I've seen someone." He sighed. "Loads of people have come to this here station begging pleading for me to have information I don't have."

Brandon immediately relaxed, feeling silly for being scared. He straightened and leaned closer again. "So people often go missing around here? Where exactly?"

The man shook his head. "Not here no. They always go missing in Galestone Valley. Now thats, thats where people get into trouble."

Brandon blinked. Was that why Ariana went there? Because she'd always liked trouble. "What kind of trouble, do you know?"

The man shook his head again. "No idea just enough to know they go missing."

Brandon nodded. "Do you know where Galestone Valley is located?"

The man gave a small shrug. "Somewhere up North."

Brandon smiled grateful at the small information he received. He thanked the man and left the gas station. He headed to where the group resided on the benches. "Guys, I think I know whre Ariana is."

So that's how they were in this situation. Driving in a thunderstorm. In the first car, Nikola sat in the back with Brandon because Brandon hated thunderstorms. Bran intertwined his fingers with Niko's, feeling his heart race from anxiety. Nikolai squeezed his hand in reassurance.

"Hey is going to be okay." He said pulling Bran closer until he was practically in his lap. "I've got you."

Brandon let himself feel comforted by Nikolai as he used to, curling his smaller body against the larger frame engulfing him. "This is fucking insane, you know that?"

Nikolai brought one of Brandons hands to his mouth, kissing his knuckles. "Shh, the cars the safest place to be during a storm like this."

"NIKOLAI!" Mia hissed angrily from where she was holding Glyndon in her arms. "Don't say shit like that!"

Nikolai, completely confused, tilted his head. "Why? I didn't say anything wrong! Its a true fact!" He said.

"You don't say shit like that, you bloody wanker, because you could ultimately jinx us! Whenever people say shit like that, they end up dying!" Landon yelled from the passenger seat, fixing Nikolai with a glare that could scare kids.

Brandon was panicking from the tense energy in the car and the thunderstorm. "Jeremy can we turn around?" But he was ignored as Landon and Nikolai continued to argue.

Nikolai just snorted. "What, you scared of death, King?"

Landon not falling for the bait, just scoffed. "No but we can't find Ariana if we die too, fucking idiot!"

Brandon spoke louder this time. "Jeremy can you please just turn around?"

Jeremy, frustrated by the arguing between his best friend and boyfriend and the fact that he hd already turned around before, snapped. "No I have already turned around multiple times already! If i keep turning around we will get nowhere!"

Glyndon spoke up. "Maybe you should stop the car, we can't even see outside the windows due to the rain."

Jeremy could barely think straight with all the bickering. "Enough. Everyone please stop talking so I can think."

Suddenly, it seemed the rain came to a complete stop and they were greeted with light.

Mia looked outside. "What the actual fuck?"

Jeremy looked shocked. "Holy shit."

Even Landon looks surprised. "What the fuck is that?"

Notes:

Also there will be grammar mistakes so sorry about that. The real horror begins next chapter so don't worry.
