WARNING: i am not a writer in any way, shape or form! i just wanted to try my hand at writing out one of the fic ideas i have sitting in a google doc. i saw the skip a beat bingo on twitter and realized this idea kinda fit the vibe so i just decided to develop it a little. i'm kind of enjoying this though so i might try writing out some more ideas to practice writing :)

Chapter Text

“thank you lykyou for showing up and rocking out! happy halloween everyone!”

it was the night before halloween. lykn had just finished their event at siam square and were heading off stage to change and get all of their makeup off. tui was still buzzing from the energy of the stage as he walks back to the dressing room.

the other members are chatting all around the room. it’s set up to give some privacy with some dividers in between all the members. tui settles down into his seat and grabs his phone from the table scattered with makeup. he’s about to unlock it when suddenly it falls right through his hand and hits the ground with a loud thud

“p’tui are you okay?” willam calls out from his side of the room.

tui looks at his hand and, well it isn’t there anymore. shit why is this happening right now my powers haven’t done this in years…wait it’s halloween isn’t it…but that hasn’t happened since-

there’s a myth that the reason why so many scary things happen on halloween is because the ghosts that roam in the human world aren’t able to control their powers and do things they don’t mean to and scare humans. this doesn’t happen as often now, however it seems tui is the exception to all ghost rules. he hasn’t been affected by halloween since he was a kid and just got his powers but it seems like now…

tui is lost in thought when hong suddenly whips his head around the “wall” set up in the room. tui quickly hides his hand behind his back, willing his hand to go back to normal but not trusting to check until hong was gone.

“are you okay? william asked you but you didn’t respond so i thought i’d check on you” said hong.

“yea i'm fine p’hong!” tui responded with a smile that hopefully convinced his closest friend he was okay. “just dropped my phone haha” tui laughed, trying to play it off.

“okay well i also came by to ask if you wanted to do a horror movie night tonight at my house cause it’s halloween tomorrow?” hong asked.

see here’s the thing: tui had the biggest *secret* crush on his groupmate, hong, which made it impossible to say no to him. which is why he ended up in this situation where he’s sitting next to hong on the couch under the blankets, watching some horror movie that he couldn’t remember the name of on a laptop as he was a trying not to combust. not just from being next to his crush but also exposing his powers to one of the most important people in his life.

throughout the movie, tui can feel his ghost energy buzzing closer than normal under his skin, causing parts of his body to go invisible randomly. he hoped the darkness of the living room was enough to make sure hong didn’t notice.

everything was somewhat okay until tui noticed a vase on the table in front of them started floating. oh you’ve got to be kidding me going invisible was one thing but this has to be ghost overkill. before hong notices he quickly excuses himself and runs off to the bathroom.

he hastily locks the door and looks in the mirror to see his eyes glowing blue. okay so this is a lot worse than i thought. “breathe,” he whispers to himself in the mirror, slowly closing his eyes to try and calm the ghost energy down as he sees the soap hand soap and hong’s toothbrush that were around the sink start floating around.

after a few minutes he calms down a little bit when he suddenly hears some knocks on the door, which startles him and then he’s phasing through the ground.

“tui, you okay in there?” hong asks, sounding rightfully worried.

well i’m currently through your floor and i’m fighting something i haven’t had to deal with in years so everything is just fine and completely okay in here.

“yea i just wasn’t feeling too well i’ll be out in a second i promise p’hong!” tui responded, while trying to fly up out of the ground.

“okay, let me know if you need anything i’ll be right outside” hong said.

always so worried about everyone, no wonder why i fell for you so easily.

“got it, you can go back to the movie i should be out in a couple minutes!” tui responds, trying to sound as okay as possible.

he got no response from hong when he finally pulled himself out of the ground and looked back in the mirror. shit my eyes are still glowing he thinks, trying to collect himself back together. keyword is trying; he is failing miserably to go back to being human as now there’s stuff floating out of hong’s cabinets and through the air. he grips the sink trying to calm down however his breathing is slowly becoming heavier and heavier as he fails to control his powers.

after a few more minutes hong is still worried. “tui are you sure you’re okay? we can call it early and go to sleep if you’re not feeling well.”

tui couldn’t get a response out in between his heavy breaths that hong somehow picked up on through the door.

“hey tui i’m using the key to come in you don’t sound okay in there,” hong announced.

tui curses internally and right before hong enters the bathroom, panicking, he swiftly turned invisible and flew through the ceiling and onto the roof, leaving all of the floating stuff to fall to the ground in front of a very confused hong. he pauses there, floating in the air, hearing hong’s confused yelling as he’s searching for tui.

when hong suddenly steps outside tui quickly turns invisible again to hide from his close friend. watching how carefully his crush and close friend is searching so intensely and carefully for him somehow allows him to get his emotions a little more under control, enough to go back to hong.

he flies in behind hong to see him trying to call him on his phone. hong turns around and jumps a little, startled. “what the heck just happened? where the heck did you just come from? i thought you were in the bathroom and then when i came in all of my stuff was on the ground and you weren’t in here and i was worried sick!”

i guess i’m going to have to tell him the truth now, there’s no point in trying to hide it. “okay so you know that really bad accident i had as a kid well i actually technically died for a minute there but then i somehow came back to life but i had these powers so turns out i’m half ghost and my parents tried to get my powers sealed away when i was a kid but it didn’t work so i just learned how to control them and hide them away from everyone and i think you're the first person i've ever told this secret to if i'm being completely and totally honest,” tui rushes out, not out of breath because he’s technically half dead.

“okay wow that was a lot at once,” hong says slowly. “dang so you’re really half-ghost huh?”

“yep, i’ve just gotten so used to hiding my powers and keeping them under control that i really don’t know what else to say right now,” tui responds, staring at the ground to hide his eyes he knows are glowing. some books that were on the table start floating

“so i’m the first person you’ve ever told?”

“yep,” tui nodded with his eyes still trained on the ground.

“why aren’t you looking up? is there something wrong?” hong asks, concerned.

“my eyes aren’t normal when i’m like this,” tui says. “i feel like i’ve already scared you enough today i don’t wanna scare you even more. let me just find my sunglasses that i left around here and-”

“what made you think i’m scared of you?” hong asks with an incredulous laugh. “you’ve been my bandmate and my best friend for years how could i ever be scared of you?”

tui looks up and hong meets his eyes, glowing blue and all. “your eyes actually really cool bro.”

“really?”

“yea you look like a superhero straight out of marvel!”

“not really much of a superhero,” tui chuckled. “unless superheroes end up phasing halfway through the ground because they’re around their crushes- oh shit”

hong lets out a little sound of surprise. “crush? do you have a crush on me, ai’tui?”

“now i really want to disappear through the ground,” tui groans, covering his face with his hands “well i guess the secret’s out. i have a huge crush on you, p’hong, and that’s honestly my personal theory as to the reason why my powers are like this today and it’s probably the reason why all of this is happening in the first place.”

hong lets out a soft chuckle. “can’t say that i haven’t grown quite fond of you as well,” hong responds. “i guess maybe i have some feelings for you too”

tui’s eyes widen and suddenly there’s a bunch of things floating around and the temperature suddenly drops in the room, to the point where hong is shivering.

“a-a-are you sure p’hong? you’re not just joking around with me” tui asks, nearly tearing up at what he was hearing. p’hong likes me back?? even after all this??

“yes i do ai’tui why would i ever joke about this?” hong sighs. “also what’s all this? your powers causing all this stuff floating around? and also why it’s so cold in here?” hong questions, his teeth chattering.

“i’m pretty sure. i mean i know the floating stuff is me but i don’t know about the cold thing. that’s a new power,” tui laughs, on the brink of happy tears. “haven’t had a new power in forever.”

“i think that’s enough emotional overload for your ghost powers right now,” hong chuckles, reaching out to touch tui’s arm. “you want to finish off our movie night together? i can make some more popcorn? extra butter?”

“yes please,” tui responds gratefully, the temperature of the room returning back to normal. “and thank you so much p’hong for staying with me through all of this.”

“of course i would,” hong responds with a smile, while leading them back to the living room and then heading to the kitchen to make more popcorn. “you’re the closest person to me and you just heard me say i also have feelings for you what made you think i would ever hate you?”

tui walks over to the couch and begins getting comfortable again under the blankets. “i guess after years of seeing my powers as more like a curse to hide away someone finally knowing about them and also accepting them is new to me”

hong walks back over to the couch to sit down next to tui. “well now you don’t have to hide them away from me,” hong says with a soft smile. “don’t ever feel like you have to hide anything from me, tui. ever.”

hong reaches over to hit play on the laptop to continue the movie while tui scoots closer to lessen the distance between them and cuddles into hong’s side. they spend the rest of the night giggling to each other about the movie while tui’s powers flicker in and out, either a hand going invisible or something ending up floating in the air until tui realizes and then brings it back down and into its place. eventually the both fall asleep together on the couch, a bundle of blankets and the start of something new glowing through the air.

Chapter Text

over the next few months the other lykn members began noticing some strange things happening during practice. not only were things mysteriously falling to the ground and the practice room would get unnaturally cold even though the air conditioning was functioning fine, but also their was definitely something happening between hong and tui.

during practice their gazes would meet in the mirror and they’d softly smile at each other and giggle, almost losing focus mid-routine. during breaks they would sit together, which was nothing new, but now they sit practically all over each other and whisper amongst themselves.

meanwhile during these little moments tui couldn’t decide whether to be happy or to be scared of how things were going with hong. on one hand he loves how much closer they’ve been getting, however it seems like his powers are suddenly out of control again with how much they fritz whenever he’s around hong. from smiling at hong in the mirror and something mysteriously floating in the air and then falling to the ground to when they’re giggling together and the temperature of the room suddenly drops it’s only a matter of time before he’s going to have to tell the other members.

“ai’tui, i thought your powers just went crazy because of halloween, what’s all this?” hong whispers to tui during one of their breaks.

“i don’t know, my powers haven’t been this out of control since i was a kid,” tui responds. “maybe it has something to do with you,” he teases, poking at hong’s side.

“alright alright that’s enough, you cutie,” hong gasps out in between giggles.

cutie. tui blushes at the name. the room suddenly becomes teeth chattering cold and the other members begin murmuring, confused.

“what the heck?” william exclaims. “this is like the third time this month and we already checked if the air condition was broken”

“at this point this place is as haunted as that hotel from the no worries shoot,” lego sighs.

“and at this point i might actually believe you,” nut says. “with all the stuff falling while we’re dancing and then now the room getting mysteriously cold there’s definitely no normal explanation.”

tui whips his head around at that and then turns back to hong. “p’hong should i tell them the truth?” he questions, worriedly. “this is the first time i haven’t been able to control my powers since i was a kid and i don’t know how much longer i can keep playing this off.”

“i understand you want to tell them, but only do it if you’re ready, got it?” hong advises. “you’ve kept the secret for so long and it’s still yours to share and to hold, even if i know now.”

“also you know i’m here for you, always,” he adds, grabbing tui’s hand to emphasize the point.

“i know you are,” tui says with a giggle. “but i think i’m going to tell them right now, before i start to overthink this.”

“okay i’ll be right next to you,” hong says, standing up. “do you also want to tell them about us? they’ve probably noticed how close we’ve been these past few months” hong questions.

“i think i want this to stay between us for just a little bit longer,” tui responds, grabbing hong’s hand playing a little with his fingers before standing up to walk over to the others together.

the other three look over at the pair walking over together. “oho what’s this? you guys finally remembered we exist?” nut jokes.

“i actually came over because i have something i have to tell you guys,” tui begins. hong rubs a supportive hand on his shoulder to calm tui down as if he can hear tui’s mind beginning to overthink already (he’s not wrong).

“okay…” lego trails off, eyeing the both of them suspiciously. “what’s wrong p’tui?”

“so you know how all the weird stuff that’s been happening during our practices like the stuff falling and the rooms been getting all cold well technically i’m the one that’s been causing all of that because i’m technically half ghost from that really bad accident i told you guys about when i was a kid and up until now i haven’t told anyone except p’hong, well he kinda had no choice my powers showed up so he found out a couple months ago so yea, surprise!” tui rambles on.

throughout his ramble, tui saw three pairs of eyes widen in sync as he continued. by the end of it their jaws were wide open, stunned. he could practically see the gears turning in their heads trying to figure out if he was telling the truth.

to eliminate any doubt, tui turns around and reaches his hand out to bring his phone to him with his powers. when it reaches his hand he holds it up to them. “yep see telekinesis and everything.”  the other three just watched him in stunned silence and hong was looking at tui with a small smile on his face, proud of his little cutie for being able to trust more people with his secret.

after a about a minute more of stunned silence, lego, ever the drama, finally breaks the silence. “well i think i can speak for all three of us when i say that’s the last thing i expected you to tell us.”

“wait what did you think i was going to say?” tui asks, with a quizzical look.

“we thought you guys were coming over to tell us you and p’hong are dating,” william rushes out, wearing a huge grin.

tui’s face burns in embarrassment as the temperature in the room drops and their bags begin floating in the air. everyone but tui is shivering, however that doesn’t stop william and lego give each other a look, connecting the dots as to the reason behind the room getting really cold all the time and their faces broke out into wide grins.

“ai’tui we’re gonna freeze our balls off can you return the room back to normal?” nut groans.

“oh right, sorry,” tui apologizes sheepishly as he returns the room back to normal and carefully places everything back on the ground.

“what do you guys mean you thought me and tui were dating?” hong chimes in.

“well it definitely doesn’t take a genius to notice how close you two have been lately,” nut chuckles.

before tui can die more of embarrassment hong calls out, “okay i think that’s where we end that conversation before tui turns into a tomato and freezes us half to death.” hong guides tui to their bags and they walked out, leaving nut, william, and lego in the practice room.

“there’s totally something happening there right? that can’t only be me,” william finally says when they’re out of earshot.

“oh for sure, but let’s just wait until they realize they’re not fooling us at all with their suspicious behavior,” nut responds with chuckle.

⋆.˚༒︎. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁༒︎⋆.˚

back at hong’s apartment, once they walk through the door they let out a collective sigh as they slumped down on the couch, side-by-side.

“well they took that surprisingly well,” tui says.

“i know, i was expecting either more freaking out or they needed more time to process what was happening,” hong responds, wrapping his arms around tui and pulling him closer. tui melts into his embrace and they sit like that for a few minutes.

“p’hong,” tui eventually pipes up, “we still have to change,” he says, looking down at their clothes.

“mmm don’t you have ghost powers that can magically change us or something?” hong murmurs in response, his face buried in tui’s hair muffling his voice.

tui laughs, a warm, full hearted sound. “yeah i wish they worked like that but for now we’re stuck with weird floating stuff and cold rooms.” he pauses before saying, “now get up and go shower before i go intangible for the rest of the night and you get no more cuddles.”

hong lets out a loud groan, “my little cutie and his cutie laugh, i know you won’t actually do that you love cuddling as much as me.” he says while pulling tui impossibly closer.

tui gives hong a few more minutes of cuddle time before he swiftly turned intangible and stood up. “i forgot you can do that,” hong grumbles with a pout, looking strangely similar to an angry kitten.

“i don’t really want to try using my telekinesis on another person so get up and go shower,” tui says sternly, crossing his arms across his chest.

“fine,” hong groans rolls his eyes, no real annoyance behind them. as he walks by tui he quickly leans in to peck him on the cheek before walking over to the bathroom, leaving a surprised tui and a floating tv behind him.

tui quickly calms down and slowly lowers the tv before heading to hong’s room to pull out some clothes for the both of them. once hong steps out of the shower tui goes into shower as well.

⋆.˚༒︎. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁༒︎⋆.˚

once they’re all showered and changed they order food while laying in bed. tui has his laptop open doing some work for one of his classes while hong is reading a book on his ipad. hong glances over to where tui was sitting to check in on him when, wait is he studying in the air?

“tui, i mean this in the most loving way possible, but what the actual hell are you doing?” hong asks, trying not to make his voice sound as utterly confused as he was.

tui looks up from his laptop and looks down at hong. “oh this is just something i do when i’m alone,” he says while lowering himself back onto the bed. “i find studying in the air a little more relaxing sometimes.”

hong’s eyes follow tui on his way down. “maybe a warning next time i was not expecting to see that,” he says once tui’s back on the bed.

“got it!” tui says with a salute and then he sighs. “p’hong what am i going to do about the power glitches?”

“let’s see how it is now that the others know,” hong responds.

“i just hope this just happens while we’re not on stage explaining floating equipment to our fans is definitely not going to be easy,” tui says, looking down at his hands.

“nothing bad has happened yet, and now that the others know you don’t have to worry about hiding your powers around them either,” hong comforts. “that should definitely help right, my little cutie?”

tui looks up and smiles, “yeah i guess it does help a little. also cutie huh? i feel like i’m going to explode every time i hear you call me that.”

“oh i know, if the practice room incident didn’t make it obvious enough,” hong smirks.

tui scoffs. “rude!” he says, dramatically.

tui reaches his hand out and floats hong’s ipad out of his hands, levitating it in the air just out of hong’s reach.

“oi tui this is not fair,” hong pouts as he’s trying to reach for the ipad only for tui to keep moving it just out of reach every time.

“i’m just testing my powers out so they stop glitching,” tui says innocently.

“oh are you now?” hong asks with one eyebrow raised in question.

he suddenly jumps on tui and peppering his face with kisses. “and i’m just testing how much love my cutie can take before he explodes.”

tui starts giggling until his face starts hurting. “okay okay i’ll bring it back down,” he says bringing the ipad back into his hands to hand to hong.

that doesn’t stop the assault of kisses. to hide the flush growing across his face from the onslaught of affection tui turns invisible and that leads hong to pause.

“oh my cutie going invisible is definitely not playing fair,” hong frowns.

while invisible tui rolls over to be beside hong and turns visible again. “my face was probably as red as a freaking fire alarm i got embarrassed,” tui says, shyly.

“now you have escape tactics? oh having a ghost boyfriend is definitely not fair,” hong frowns.

“hey you’re the one who wanted me to start using my powers more with you,” tui deadpans.

“not like this,” hong pouts.

“fine fine come here… babe,” tui says.

“‘babe’ huh? well now you’re just asking for it,” hong teases before jumping onto tui and continuing his mission to cover his face in kisses.

the room is filled with giggles as hong and tui continue teasing each other, tui using his powers to evade and hong just pouncing onto tui to start tickling him, or just to start kissing his face. they eventually give up on studying and go to sleep, their love shimmering in the air (or it’s just tui’s powers going wack they really couldn’t tell).

Chapter Text

it’s been a few months since tui’s ghost secret was revealed to hong and then eventually to the rest of lykn. tui was eventually able to get his powers back under control before he accidentally revealed them to all of their fans. a new problem seems to have arisen in between of all of these events however.

seeing ghosts everywhere he went is something tui got used to. most of the ghosts who roam the human world are just quiet observers, content with just watching as humans live their lives. sure, they scared him at first and it took him some time to get used to figuring out what other people could and couldn’t see. when he was in school he didn’t have many friends because he was seen as a perpetually scared child, jumping at the sight of every ghost he saw while everyone else saw him terrified at something they could never see.

the amount of ghosts has also never been a huge problem, but recently something has changed, and not for the better. it seems like ghosts are drawn to him like a magnet. not only that but the incoherent whispers he used to hear from them are now turning into various levels of trying to talk to him all at once. he’s still unable to figure out what they’re trying to say but that doesn’t change their presence while he’s trying to do something as simple as walking to the studio and trying to make his way through practice. the peak of his struggle culminates one day, a seemingly normal day…in theory….

hong and tui are out on a date to one of their favorite cafe’s. they love the place so much because it was tucked away enough where they were given the privacy to just exist as a couple, with the added bonus that the staff has known them since before they were dating and were elated at the news they finally confessed to each other and finally started dating. they are more than happy to help keep their relationship private by making sure the two of them are hidden enough from passerbys and other customers walking in.

they’re sitting across from each other and one of the small cafe tables in their usual corner. while tui has tried to keep focused on their conversation, his eyes can’t help but keep darting around at the ghosts that slowly begin to swarm the cafe and their overlapping chatter disturbing the peace between him and hong. he can’t figure out what’s more frustrating, the increasing volume of the voices or the fact he can’t figure out what they’re saying.

while hong looks down to take a sip of his latte, he feels the temperature suddenly drop. when he sets his mug back down he sees tui looking around at the seemingly empty space around, but his eyes were glowing their ghostly blue.

“hey tui you okay?” hong asks, reaching his hand out to hold tui’s that had begun shaking.

when hong reaches tui’s hand, he realises tui is ice cold to the touch, even colder than his normal cool temperature from being half ghost. “tui you’re freezing!” hong exclaims.

tui finally meets hong’s eyes and hong notices just how scared tui looks. “what’s wrong?” hong repeats one more time in hopes tui will finally respond.

“just the ghosts again,” tui smiles weakly. “they’re so loud today,” he sighs, looking down at their joined hands on the table.

“do you want to head home? it seems like the ghosts don’t bother you there,” hong questions, before realizing tui had quickly pulled his hand away and is now covering his ears, eyes still glowing bright.

“i just need the voices to STOP!” tui finally yells, causing some of the surrounding tables and chairs to be pushed away and sending some of them clattering over. one of the staff members rushes over at the sudden sound. “ai’tui your eyes are glowing!” hong whisper yells. before the worker sees tui with his eyes glowing, he quickly goes invisible so they don’t find out yet another well-kept lykn secret, knowing about the both of them was already plenty secret they could ask them to keep.

“oh my what was that? was there an earthquake? are you guys okay?” the worker rushes out after running over to their little corner.

“we’re okay,” hong replies. “i think we’re going to head out though we really do have to get home.”

“got it,” the worker nods.

she looks around for a second, confused. “oh where did tui go? could’ve sworn i just saw him over here,” she asks.

“oh he just ran over to the bathroom, we’ll head out once he’s back,” hong responds, glancing over at the empty space where tui is probably still sitting, invisible.

once she’s gone, tui becomes visible again, letting out a soft exhale. “are my eyes still glowing p’hong?”

“not anymore, let’s just go home,” he replies, reaching over to hold tui’s hand and leave the cafe together holding hands.

⋆.˚༒︎. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁༒︎⋆.˚

“okay according to all of these websites you’ll need to seance to be able to understand what the ghosts are saying,” hong says, scrolling through his fair share of mildly sketchy ghost websites in search for answers for tui’s ghost problem.

“i don’t want to draw any more ghosts here,” tui says. “i don’t know why they don’t follow us home but they swarm the second i step away from here.”

“that’s really weird, maybe we can try to go to the old group home tonight to try it out,” hong proposes. “nut, william, and lego all got their own places gmm basically pays for it to be a set at this point but it should work to connect with the ghosts right?”

⋆.˚༒︎. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁༒︎⋆.˚

tui and hong are sitting cross-legged in front of each other on the floor, surrounded by the circle of candles. tui can already hear the whispers of the ghosts approaching and gaining in volume, still not able to decipher what they’re trying to tell him.

he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in and then out, focusing on his ghost connection and using it to try and figure out what is happening to him. hong closes his eyes and does the same thing, except just focusing on helping tui with his presence in the seance circle.

they’re silent for a few minutes before hong suddenly hears a thud. he opens his eyes to the sudden sound and finds tui sprawled on the ground, cold to the touch, which is nothing new, but he’s not breathing.

he grabs tui’s shoulders and tries to shake him awake, unaware of the fact that tui was hovering right above him.

what the hell is happening? why is my body just there and i’m over here… tui thinks. he tries to fly back over to his body to see if he can figure out what happened. he touches his body again and he suddenly sits up, causing hong to jump back slightly.

“what the hell was that?” hong asks, worry laced in his voice. “it was like you died!”

“i think my ghost half separated from my human half, i was hovering above the circle a little bit,” tui replies, looking around at the circle and the ghosts slowly approaching. “i could finally hear words in the ghost voices though.”

“okay so you basically have to die for this to work? i don’t think i’ll ever get used to any of this ghost stuff…” hong sighs. “but okay let’s try again to finally get to the bottom of what’s happening i’ll try not to freak out again.”

tui chuckles lightly, “don’t worry i was a little freaked out as well. never thought i would be able to watch my dead body like that.”

tui repeats the process of closing his eyes and taking a few deep breathes before his ghost is separated from his body again. his body thuds to the ground like last time, startling hong slightly. “good luck my cutie,” hong says, looking around at the empty space around him, hoping tui was floating around nearby.

tui smiles down at hong don’t worry babe once i get this all figured out we’ll finally be at peace again

tui flies over to where the ghosts are huddling around the circle of candles. he finds that their once incoherent whispers are just various exclamations of confusion and not anything dangerous or threatening. “hello?” he calls out, hoping to finally be able to

“you can finally understand us?” one of the ghosts responds. she was wearing a vintage outfit, body glowing with ghostly energy.

“i guess i can now, what’s been happening? why are there so many ghosts always around me?”

“we don’t know either,” another ghost chimes in, this time a man in a tailored suit with glasses resting on the bridge of his nose. “we just keep being teleported near you with no warning and we suddenly aren’t able to be anywhere else.”

“yeah sorry about we kept seeing you just as confused as we were but you couldn’t understand us,” says another younger ghost, looking even younger than tui himself.

“oh thank god i thought you guys were trying to send me some eerie warning and this was just another weird thing my powers did,” tui sighs in relief. “well is there anything i can do to stop it? i have no clue what’s happening either

“when we get whisked away toward you it feels like a giant magnet, so i wouldn’t put it past any weird power accusations,” the younger teen ghost continues. “do you think you can control it so you don’t scare the ghosts more? wow that was a sentence i never thought i would have to say…”

“i don’t even know how to do that, but i’ll see what i can do when i get back to my body i guess but glad to know you guys aren’t making any threats on anyone’s life” tui chuckles.

he flies back to his body and shoots back up once again, startling hong who was almost falling asleep sitting on the ground and waiting for tui to be done.

“okay so turns out my powers are causing this to happen,” tui explains. “all the whispers i haven’t been able to understand? turns out the ghosts are just confused as hell because they’ve been randomly teleported toward me with no warning.”

“huh that’s it? really?” hong questions, not believing that the problem was something so simple.

“yeah just need to figure out how to turn off the ghost magnet powers and everything should be normal, though i do feel bad about how much i’ve been pulling the ghosts around for the past two weeks,” tui adds sheepishly.

he sees the ghosts around the room chuckle to themselves, before looking at his hands and channeling his ghost energy to figure out how to stop everything for good. he figures out what might be causing the magnet: the energy in his core seems to be the cause of everything. if he could just…

he looks up and sees all the ghosts gone, finally able to get back to their normal lives. hong is looking at him with a fond smile and he surges forward and gives tui a giant bear hug. “okay let’s clean up and head back home, we’ve got homework to do,” hong smiles.

by now hong has gotten used to tui’s habit of floating around while studying. sure it definitely shocked him the first few times but now he could study while tui was just hovering in the air. sometimes, like tonight, he just couldn’t keep his eyes off of his little ghost.

tui was floating in the air, his laptop and other books hovering nearby as well, and his eyes had their faint blue glow as always. but something about how he looked today just made hong want to reach up and hug him all night.

before hong could act on his thoughts, tui quickly met eyes with hong, catching him in his staring. “what’s wrong?” tui questions, giggling.

“nothing, just thinking how lucky i am to have such a beautiful ghost boyfriend,” hong responds, smiling up at tui fondly.

tui smiles before leaning down towards hong, tilting his body so his face was right in front of hong’s. “well it does mean i do get to do this,” tui says before stealing a kiss on hong’s lips before floating back up to continue with his work.

“hey that’s not fair,” hong pouts while a faint blush creeps on his cheeks. “come back down here!” he exclaims, standing on the bed and trying to jump up to reach tui to bring him back down.

tui flies around just out of reach of hong’s flailing arms before he decides to give in to his boyfriend’s efforts and he hovers back closer to the bed, slowly lowering himself down while hong follows him with his eyes.

“well now that you’re down here…” hong says slowly with a mischievous glint in his eyes, before pouncing on tui and showering him with kisses, his favorite thing to do after tui teases him with his powers.

in between tui’s giggling fits, hong can see tui’s eyes glowing a soft blue, something he discovered happens when tui is really happy, like right now. he’s kept it his own little secret because he knows his cutie will just keep worrying about his powers if he ever tells him.

tired from solving yet another mystery behind tui’s ghost powers and spending the rest of the night happily together, they both eventually fall asleep in each others arms under the blue shimmer the room has taken on with tui’s powers, finally done with dealing with ghost mysteries for now.
