Chapter Text

Charlie was supposed to be studying, he met up with his friends from maths class to study for their upcoming exam but Charlie was busy smiling at his phone texting Nick. One of Charlie’s friends interrupted him, making him look up from his phone, “Charlie do you know the answer to number 8?” his friend Amy asked, “huh?” Charlie asked, Amy smirked, “you have the look, you’re texting your boyfriend aren't you!?” she asked, excitedly. Charlie felt his cheeks go red, “am I really that obvious?” he smiled, “yes, it would be disgusting if I wasn’t so happy for you, now spill!!” she begged, “yeah tell us everything!!” his other friend called Rosa said. “Come on!! Give us the details, we barely know anything about him!” Amy complained. 

Even though Charlie had only known these people for a few weeks he trusted them to know that he had a boyfriend. He didn’t want to provide details yet, as he didn’t know how they would react to his sexuality but they were all supportive and apparently very eager for details. “Fine, fine, his name is Nick, he’s on the rugby team here, in fact he’s the captain and we-” “wait, do you mean Nick Nelson?!” his friend Jake said, cutting him off, “umm yeah, why?” Charlie said, nervously, “there's no way you’re dating Nick Nelson!” Jake laughed, “and why’s that?” Charlie asked starting to get frustrated, “well for starters you’re a nerd and he’s the captain of the rugby team, also I always see girls swarming around him, it’s a nice dream but there’s no way you’d have a chance with someone like him” he smirked, “JAKE! That’s incredibly rude!” Amy said, whacking him in the arm, “oi! What was that for!?” Jake said, rubbing his arm, “for being an asshole” Rosa said, rolling her eyes. “Charlie, please excuse Jake, clearly he doesn’t know what he’s talking about” Rosa said, glaring at Jake. 

“Nick Nelson is the straightest person I’ve ever seen! There’s no way he’s into dudes!” he laughed. Charlie clenched his fists under the table, trying to contain the rage building inside of him. “It’s not polite to make assumptions about someone’s sexuality based on their looks,” Charlie shot back. “You’re just saying that because you don’t want to accept that he’s straight,” Jake scoffed. “You don’t even know him! Not like I do!” Charlie said, rage building in his voice. “Sure, cause you know him so well” Jake said, rolling his eyes. “Jake! Leave him alone!!” Amy yelled. “Seriously, you’re defending him?!” Jake yelled back. “Yes, I am because you’re being an ass!” Amy said, glaring at Jake. Charlie sunk down in his chair, covering his face with his hands, he felt so pathetic, he should’ve been able to stand up for Nick. 

Ever since Charlie joined Nick at Leeds he had become aware of just how popular Nick was, sure Nick was popular at Truham but at Leeds, practically everyone they saw around campus stopped to say hello to Nick. But, apparently none of those people seemed to notice that Nick was always with Charlie. It frustrated him that some people refused to believe that Nick would be attracted to someone like him. It brought out all his insecurities and Charlie started to think he wasn’t good enough for Nick, after all, Jake made a good point, he was just a nerd and Nick was the captain of the rugby team. Sure, they had been together nearly four years and didn’t plan on leaving each other but, Nick could always change his mind. Charlie ignored his friends' continuous bickering about his relationship and pulled out his phone. He knew it could be seen as pathetic but he texted Nick.

Char: Nick, love of my life, apple of my eye, giver of the best hugs, have I told you recently how much I love you?

Nick <3: Charles, why are you being so nice to me?

Char: Nickkkk come on this is serious!

Nick <3: Aww what’s wrong my love? 

Char: My friend Jake said all these awful things about how I’d never have a chance with you and that I’m clearly lying about our relationship since apparently a nerd can’t date the captain of the rugby team

Nick <3: WHAT THE FUCK!! That little prick!!

Nick <3: 😡😡😡

Char: I couldn’t even defend our relationship Nick! I’m so pathetic!

Nick <3: You are not pathetic my love, if anyone is pathetic it’s Jake

Nick <3: Damnit, Char, you shouldn’t have to prove to him that you’re in a relationship with me! He should take you at your word!

Char <3: I should’ve said something to defend you Nick, I’m so sorry 

Nick <3: First of all, no s-word

Nick <3: And second, Char, you have nothing to be sorry about

Nick <3: Now, where are you?

Char: The library, why?

Nick <3: I’ll be there in five

Char: Nick, you don’t have to do this!

Nick <3: I insist! I love you, Char, and I would do anything for you!

Char: I love you too, Nick

When Nick made it to the library he instantly spotted Charlie sitting in the back corner with his friends. He casually walked over to their table, “Char!” he said, waving over at him, “Nick!” Charlie said, running to give him a hug. Nick caught Charlie in his arms, lifting him off the floor and spinning him around, “Nickkk put me down, you giant rugby lad!” Charlie laughed. “Neverrr!!” he said, spinning him around one more time before placing him back on the ground. Even after nearly four years together Charlie always felt his heart swell and his cheeks flush around Nick. 

“Hi” Nick whispered in Charlie’s ear, sending a shiver down his spine, “hi” Charlie smiled. “I missed you” Nick said, nuzzling his face into Charlie’s neck, “you just saw me this morning” Charlie laughed. “I don’t care, I always miss you when we’re not together” Nick smiled, lifting his head from Charlie’s neck. He leaned down, cupping Charlie’s face with his hands, meeting their lips in a soft kiss. “Ahem!” Jake coughed, causing Nick to break their kiss. Charlie looked down at the floor, blushing, “so you’re really dating him” Jake said, with a skeptic look on his face. Rosa whacked him in the arm, “ow! Again!” he yelped, Rosa ignored him, “hi, I’m Rosa, it’s so nice to meet you Nick!” she said. “I’m Amy, and that’s Jake, don’t take anything he says seriously” she said, glaring at Jake. 

“It’s nice to meet you all, Char has told me a lot about you” Nick smiled slightly, clearly hiding his anger towards Jake. “Aww you call him Char, that’s adorable” Amy cooed, “yeah, it’s cute and whatever, now, how long have you been seeing each other, cause there’s no way this is anything other than a causal fling” Jake said, rolling his eyes. “Hmm how long has it been now Char, four years?” Nick questioned, wrapping his arms around Charlie’s waist, tugging him closer to his chest. “Since I was fourteen so yeah, four years” Charlie smiled, Jake’s jaw was practically on the floor, “four years?!” he sputtered. “Yeah, I’m the luckiest guy in the world” Nick beamed, Charlie blushed, “awww!!” Amy and Rosa cooed. 

“Now, if you’ll excuse us, I’m going to take this one home for some alone time, if you know what I mean” Nick winked,“Nick!! Stop!!” Charlie shrieked, whacking him on the arm. Jake opened and closed his mouth multiple times, as if he was trying to say something but he was at a loss for words. Nick took Charlie’s hand in his and playfully dragged him away from the library, Charlie quickly grabbed his bag, waving goodbye to his friends. They both giggled on their way out, unable to stop laughing after rendering Jake speechless. Charlie stopped him right before leaving the library, “I love you” he smiled. “And I love you, I’ll always be there when you need me” Nick said, giving Charlie a quick peck on his cheek before rejoining their hands and continuing the walk back to their flat.

Chapter Text

Nick and Charlie giggled as they rushed up the stairs to their flat, Nick still dragging Charlie along behind him. They stopped right in front of their door as Nick fumbled with his keys trying to unlock it. “Fucks sake!” Nick swore, as he dropped the keys on the ground, he bent down to pick them up, Charlie playfully slapped him in the ass, causing him to yelp. “Oi! What was that for” Nick laughed, “it’s my way of telling you to hurry up” Charlie said, in a sultry tone. Nick swallowed, “hmmm being a little impatient, huh?” he said, finally unlocking the door, “what can I say, I find it extremely hot when my boyfriend stands up for me” Charlie whispered in his ear. 

Nick finally unlocked the door, immediately pulling Charlie inside, “so you have a thing for me defending you, huh?” Nick smirked. “I love it when you tell people that I’m yours” Charlie blushed, looking down at the floor. Nick tilted his chin back up, “so do I” Nick whispered, Charlie could feel his hot breath against his cheeks, and their lips were practically touching. “So about that alone time, do you think we could make that happen?” Charlie smirked, poking Nick in the chest. “Hmm definitely” Nick said, pulling Charlie closer to him.

Nick pushed Charlie against the door, capturing his lips with his own. He wasted no time, sliding his hands underneath Charlie’s shirt, pulling it over his head in one swift movement. Charlie tugged at the hem of Nick’s shirt, signaling him to take it off. Somehow, they managed to not break their kiss as Nick tossed his shirt on the floor. Nick’s hands travelled down to Charlie’s ass, giving it a nice squeeze, Charlie moaned in response, feeling the growing pressure down below. He jumped up and wrapped his legs around Nick’s torso. Nick broke their kiss, making Charlie whimper at the lack of contact, which was quickly replaced with a groan when Nick began nibbling at his neck. 

Charlie brought his legs back onto the floor, making quick work of removing Nick’s pants and boxers, he knelt to the ground, about to go down on him when Nick stopped him. “Stop right there Char, I’m taking you right here, right now” Nick breathed out, Charlie stood up, “then take me, Nicholas” he whispered, already starting to remove his jeans and boxers. Nick pinned Charlie to the wall slowly pushing into him, “N-Nick, f-faster” Charlie moaned. Nick sped up, his movements becoming more sloppy.

“Fuck, Nick” Charlie breathed out, “hmm that’s right, got to give Jake proof, that will show him for doubting you” Nick mumbled, leaving a trail of hot, wet kisses down Charlie’s neck. He didn’t stop there either; he left hickeys all over Charlie’s collarbone as well. Nick began to suck on Charlie’s sweet spot, right below his ear, “Nick!” Charlie moaned, throwing his head back letting the wave of pleasure take over. “Fuck, Char!” Nick breathed out, allowing his release to wash over him, he broke away from Charlie’s neck, both of them panting. “You are so beautiful” Nick said, taking Charlie’s hand, carefully placing it directly over his erection, “this is what you do to me, Char” he panted. “Take me to our bed” Charlie whispered in Nick’s ear, they both started sprinting towards the bedroom, leaving their clothes behind. 

They both crashed onto the bed, Nick’s eyes wandered onto Charlie’s lips, he slowly inched his face closer but not close enough for their lips to meet. “Nick for fuck’s sake!” Charlie said, impatiently, grabbing onto Nick’s face and bringing their lips together. Nick licked Charlie’s bottom lip, asking for permission, which Charlie happily granted, Nick moaned, tangling his hands in Charlie’s curls. Nick trailed his fingers down to Charlie’s chest, toying with his right nipple as he used his other hand to stroke Charlie, teasing him. 

Charlie’s breath hitched, “N-Nick, y-you are s-such a t-tease!!!” Charlie groaned. Nick stopped, looking up at Charlie with a smirk on his face, he went in and swirled his tongue around the nipple he was playing with, continuing his strokes just to mess with Charlie. “N-Nick q-quit t-teasing and just take me!” Charlie whined, Nick didn’t waste any more time, he pushed into Charlie again, this time with full force. “H-hmm m-more” Charlie moaned, Nick sped up, his movements becoming even more sloppy. After a few minutes, they both allowed their releases to take over, flopping onto the bed beside each other, out of breath. 

“Well, we sure showed Jake,” Nick said, rolling over to face Charlie. “You did not just say that after we had sex!” Charlie whined, turning away from Nick. “He will never question our relationship again, not with all those hickeys I gave you” he smirked. “Gross! Get away from me!” Charlie complained, “that’s not what you were saying ten minutes ago, in fact you were begging me to fuck you!” Nick shot back. “Well fuck you!” Charlie said, for lack of a better comeback, “hmm gladly” Nick smiled, pulling Charlie in, closing the distance between their lips.

Chapter Text

Charlie was supposed to be joining his study group, but instead he was making out with his boyfriend behind the bookshelves in the library. They broke apart, both of them panting, lips pink and swollen, cheeks flushed. Nick softly ran his thumb over Charlie’s newly plump lips. He let his thumb travel down to his jaw and down his neck, where the hickeys that he had placed there just the other day had begun to fade. He pressed his thumb onto one of the fading purple marks, causing Charlie to whimper. 

Nick smirked, removing his thumb and replacing it with his eager lips, Charlie bucked his hips, stunned by his body’s visceral reaction, he playfully pushed Nick away from him. “Nicholas, we are in public!” Charlie scolded, but Nick just giggled. Charlie whacked him in the chest, “Stop laughing!” Charlie whined, “ok, ok I may have gotten a little carried away” Nick admitted. “Just a little, have you no shame Nicholas?” Charlie said, rolling his eyes, “not when it comes to you, Char, I will never be ashamed of how much I love you” Nick said, softly. “And I love you” Charlie blushed, smiling up at Nick. 

Eventually, Charlie started to walk over to the table where his friends were studying, Nick went over with him, clinging to him like a koala, making it difficult for Charlie to walk properly. Jake looked up from his laptop, his eyes drifting over to Nick and Charlie making their way over to the table. 

His eyes widened, Nick was fully kissing Charlie’s neck in the middle of the library, “Earth to Jake! Hello!” Amy said, waving her hand in front of his face. “Huh? What?” Jake said, snapping out of his thoughts, “you spaced out” Rosa said, “we’ve been trying to get your attention for like five minutes” she complained. Amy looked over in direction Jake’s eyes were set on, “is that Nick and Charlie?” she giggled, “oh yeah maybe, I wasn’t really looking over there” Jake said, turning his attention back to his laptop. 

“Woah, that’s a lot of PDA” Rosa smirked, “every time I see them Nick is holding his hand or kissing him, ruffling his hair or carrying him over his shoulder, it’s kinda sweet, honestly” Amy cooed. “Can you guys focus? We need to study” Jake interrupted, “Jake, seriously what is your problem with them? They aren’t hurting anyone, just leave them alone” Rosa said. “I don’t have a problem with Charlie, just leave it,” he mumbled, scribbling some notes on a sticky tab and marking a page in his textbook. “I asked if you had a problem with their relationship, are you saying you have some sort of issue with Charlie?” Amy questioned. “No!” he blushed, “I’m saying I want to study and if you guys aren’t going to focus then I’ll just work by myself!” Rosa and Amy looked at each other, stunned by what Jake had said.

Jake’s eyes drifted over to Nick and Charlie again, he longed for what they had. He didn’t really understand why but he felt so drawn to them, specifically Charlie. For some reason he was beginning to understand why Nick found him so attractive, of course he would never admit that. Instead, he just slammed his laptop shut, packed up the rest of his belongings and left the library. 

Just as Jake was leaving in a huff, Charlie came over and sat down (finally). “Nice of you to make an appearance, Charles” Rosa smirked. Charlie blushed, “sorry, me and Nick may have gotten a little distracted” he laughed, nervously. “By a little distracted do you mean practically having sex in the middle of the library” Amy joked, “it was not that bad!” Charlie whined. “Charles, I say this with love but you have a hickey the size of fucking Texas on your neck, it was more than a little distraction” Rosa deadpanned. They all burst out laughing, Charlie covering his face with his hands out of embarrassment. 

“Where's Jake?” he asked, looking around, “oh he left right before you came over, right after we noticed you and Nick getting cozy” Amy said, “wait” Rosa said, “what if he likes you! That would make sense! He probably couldn’t stand to see you with Nick!” Rosa exclaimed. “Oh my gosh! I could totally see that” Amy said. “I also could’ve sworn he blushed when I insinuated he had some sort of issue with Charlie!” Rosa said. “Guys! It doesn’t matter if he likes me or not, I have Nick, who I love very much” Charlie said. 

“But he’s clearly jealous! We caught him staring at you guys” Amy said, “wait, he was staring at us” Charlie questioned. “Yeah, it was like he was in a trance or something,” Rosa said.”I wonder if he’s liked you this whole time or if it only started after he found out about you and Nick?” Amy questioned. “Quit it guys! Jake has given me enough insecurity issues to deal with regarding my relationship. I don't need to be worrying about how he might be trying to get with me” Charlie said, “can we just drop it, please?” he begged. 

Amy and Rosa reluctantly dropped the subject, but Charlie couldn’t shake the feeling that they may have been right about Jake. God, what was he going to tell Nick? He thought, mindlessly writing math equations down in his notebook. He didn’t even have proof that Jake actually liked him, what if Nick got upset? What if Nick didn’t trust him anymore? What if Nick thought he cheated? What if Nick decided he didn’t love Charlie anymore? Charlie’s intrusive thoughts only got worse, he could no longer focus on his maths homework. 

He got up abruptly from his seat, “Charlie where are you going? We still have to go over graphing equations” Rosa said. “I-I got to g-go home” he said, gathering his things, “is something wrong?” Amy asked. “I-I think you were right about Jake and I-I just, I have to talk to Nick about it, I-I don’t want h-him to think s-somethings going on” Charlie said, his voice shaking. “Charlie, we’re sorry we really didn’t mean for you to worry” Amy said, “yeah, Nick loves you, he’s not going to think that” Rosa said. Charlie slung his backpack over his shoulder, giving Amy and Rosa a weak smile, “I’ll see you guys later” he said, making his way out of the library.

Charlie walked into the apartment he shared with Nick, he threw his converse off, took off his backpack and shrugged off his jacket, hanging it up on the hook next to Nick’s. He just wanted to shower and forget what Rosa and Amy had said to him, Charlie walked through the kitchen to the living room. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts he didn’t even hear Nick greet him. “Hey, you’re home early, everything all right?” Nick said, “Char?” he said, “Char” he repeated. Charlie snapped out of his thoughts, “Oh hi, yeah everything's fine, I’m just going to go have a shower” he said, turning to go into their bedroom. Nick got up from the couch, blocking the doorway from Charlie, “is there any way I could persuade you to let me join you” Nick smirked.

Charlie looked down at the floor, he didn’t know what to say, Nick’s face instantly changed. “Aww love, what's wrong?” Nick cooed, tilting Charlie’s chin up so he was looking him in the eyes. Charlie immediately stuffed his face into Nick’s hoodie, as he sobbed, he wrapped his arms around his torso, pulling Nick even closer. “It’s all right Char, I’m here, you’re safe, I’m not going anywhere” Nick said softly, rubbing circles onto Charlie’s back. After a few minutes Charlie’s tears had died down and he was able to look up at Nick. “Can you tell me what’s going on, love? Nick asked. 

Charlie wiped some tears from his eyes, shaking his head. “Whenever you’re ready love, you don’t have to share right now if you don’t want to” Nick said, giving Charlie a kiss on the forehead. “Amy and Rosa think that Jake likes me” Charlie blurted out, Nick opened his mouth and closed it again, seemingly at a loss for words. “They just kept saying that he seemed jealous and he was staring at me, they said that he blushed when they brought up him having some sort of issue with me” Charlie rambled. “I ran home to talk to you because I didn’t want you to hear it from anyone else, I didn’t want you to think there was something going on,” Charlie explained. 

“Char, I could care less about that prick Jake, and what we have is way more important than some asshole who may or may not have a crush on you” Nick said. “B-But” Charlie stuttered, “no buts Char, I love you and I trust you, I’m not going anywhere, I’m afraid you’re stuck with me” Nick smiled. “Good, cause I wasn’t planning on going anywhere either” Charlie smiled back, getting up on his toes to give Nick a kiss. “Now about that shower?” Nick smirked, Charlie whacked him in the arm, "Nicholas! I can’t-” Charlie was cut off by Nick picking him up and throwing him over his shoulder. Charlie reached over Nick’s shoulder, smacking him in the ass, “put me down!” he protested, “not a chance!” Nick laughed, carrying Charlie through their bedroom and into the bathroom.

Chapter Text

Nick placed Charlie down onto the bathroom floor, letting his eyes wander up and down his boyfriend's slim figure, biting his lip as he admired him. “Are you staring at me Nicholas?” Charlie smirked, “maybe” Nick said, “but am I not allowed to ogle at my extremely fit boyfriend?” he flirted. “You are, in fact it’s strongly encouraged” Charlie flirted back, as he started to unbutton his shirt. Nick went ahead and tossed his own shirt over his head, quickly removing his pants and boxers as well. Charlie sauntered over to the shower, slowly removing his jeans and boxers, which he purposely threw in Nick’s direction, hitting him right in the face. Nick’s jaw hung open, “Charles you will pay for that” Nick smirked, taking a step closer. Charlie turned on the water, stepping into the shower, “whatever do you mean, Nicholas?” he asked, batting his eyelashes. 

“Oh I think you know” Nick said, stepping into the shower with him. “Hmm I don’t think so, you’ll have to show me” Charlie whispered in his ear. Nick pushed Charlie against the shower wall, attacking his lips with his own, sliding his hands all over his chest. Nick moaned into Charlie’s mouth, pushing his thumbs into his hips. Charlie squirmed under Nick’s touch. He licked his bottom lip, asking for permission, Nick opened his mouth, letting Charlie’s tongue explore. Nick tapped his thumb against Charlie’s bare hip, signaling him to jump up, Charlie grabbed onto Nick’s shoulders giving himself a boost so he could wrap his legs around his torso. Nick trailed kisses all along Charlie’s jaw, leaving hickies all down his neck and collarbone. He moaned, bucking his hips, leaning into Nick’s touch. Charlie hopped down, letting his feet touch the shower floor again. He smashed their lips together in an intense kiss, Charlie furiously sucked on Nick’s bottom lip, causing him to groan.

Charlie began nibbling on Nick’s neck, making sure to leave a visible hickey. He moved down, lightly blowing some air on his nipples and kissing each of them. “Quit teasing me Char!” he whined, "somebody's needy” Charlie smirked, taking one of his nipples in his mouth. Nick groaned, tangling his fingers in his boyfriend's curls, Charlie moved on to his other nipple,  proceeding to give it the same amount of attention. Charlie continued to kiss down Nick’s torso, stopping right where Nick needed him. Charlie slowly went down on Nick, barely taking any of him in his mouth, teasing him.

Nick whined at the lack of contact, “Char! Please” he begged, Charlie took all of Nick in his mouth, Nick bit his lip, trying to contain his moans. Charlie loved taking his time with Nick and making him squirm because he knew it drove Nick over the edge. “Hmmm that’s so good” Nick mumbled, Charlie slowed down, just to mess with him, “keep g-going, hmmm faster” Nick whimpered. Charlie sped up, feeling Nick twitch against his touch, “Char!” Nick moaned, clenching his fists, and letting his release take over. 

Once Nick caught his breath, his lips found their way back to Charlie’s, Nick grinded his hips against Charlie's, creating friction and heat between them. Charlie brought his hands up to Nick’s hair, tangling his fingers in his ginger locks, pulling him closer. Deciding that he wanted to tease Charlie a little bit, Nick broke the kiss making Charlie whine. “What do you think you’re doing Nicholas?” Charlie said, frustrated, “I never said I was done with you” he sassed. “It’s more like, I’m nowhere near done with you” Nick said into Charlie’s ear. Nick didn’t even give Charlie time to process, he just pinned Charlie against the wall. He gasped, his pupils the size of saucers. Nick knelt down, immediately taking Charlie in his mouth, Charlie groaned, bracing his hands to the wall to stop himself from sliding down. 

The feeling of Nick’s mouth wrapped around him was like a drug, it was something Charlie craved, and Nick knew just how to drive him crazy. “Hmmm N-Nick, N-Nick, I’m a-almost t-there” Charlie stuttered, this only made Nick go faster. “R-right t-t-there! God, Nick!” Charlie shuddered against the tiled wall of the shower, letting his release wash over him. Nick started to leave small kisses up Charlie’s thighs, his breath hitched when Nick reached his belly button. He lingered there for a while, then started leaving a trail of hickeys up Charlie’s torso, Nick let his hands travel up to Charlie’s chest, he pressed his thumbs onto Charlie’s nipples, causing him to gasp. Nick smirked before joining their lips. He slipped his tongue into Charlie’s mouth causing him to moan. Nick bucked his hips, trying to create friction, “I need you so badly right now” Nick breathed out. 

“I want to ride you” Charlie moaned, “then hurry up and get inside me” Nick whispered in his ear. Charlie pushed into him, slowly at first and then he picked up the pace. Nick arched his back, “Char, you are so fucking hot” Nick groaned, leaning in to suck on Charlie’s neck. Nick reached down and started stroking himself, which only made Charlie speed up his movements. “D-Don’t stop” Nick breathed out, “mmm wasn’t g-going t-to” Charlie panted. They both let go at the same time, allowing the wave of pleasure to wash over them. Nick held Charlie in his arms while they both panted, they pressed their foreheads together, finally catching their breaths. 

“Char” Nick said, as they stepped out of the shower, “you don't have to worry about me leaving you, I’m never going anywhere” he said, cupping Charlie’s face in his hands. “Because you love me” Charlie said, looking into his eyes. “Well yes, but also because you give really good head,” he smirked. “Oh my gosh!
