Chapter Text

description of all the characters and their ages:

• Mao Mao/ She is 20, she is a sophomore in college and she wants to major in medicine and pharmacy. She is currently single and dorms with her close friend Xiaolan. Her relationship is practically the same with everyone as in the show.

• Jinshi/ He is 21, he is a Junior in college and he wants to major in political influence. He is currently single and has his own dorm. perks of being rich and the "brother" of the school owner. His sister in law is Gyokuyou and they have a very clear sibling bond. Also his legal name is Ka Zuigetsu which not a lot of people know, only Mao Mao and immediate family. He goes by Jinshi though because he's not a big fan of his real name.

• Shisui/ She is 19 years old, first year in college and she wants to major in biology and dance. She is new to college but is already the life of many parties. She is from a wealthy family and she likes to host big fun parties with her mothers money. She doesn't have a good relationship with her mother so Mao Mao supports her decisions, even if she's always being dragged into them. She also has her own dorm, which is bigger then most so its a fun party dorm for everyone.

• Xiaolan/ She is 18 years old, she is a young freshman in college and she wants to major in communications. She is very sweet and very innocent, she goes to all the hangouts (parties) and just loves to dance around and hang out with Mao Mao, she doesn't drink but she loves making mocktails with sweet drinks, (also all the free food).

• Gyokuyou/ She is 24, she is planning on majoring in Business Administration, she is the engaged partner or the schools owner, yang. She is also the sister in law of Jinshi, she love to tease him and his relationship with Mao Mao. It was plainly obvious he liked her and she pushes him to make a move. She has her own dorm, rich people things.

(This is all the character info you will need, the rest of the characters aren't as relevant.

Its mid day in November, its snowing out and everyone is in their warm clothes. Classroom heaters are on and students have their winter uniforms on (Yes this college has uniforms shh). Teachers wear their long scarfs and drink their warm coffees hoping to warm them up in the brutal weather. 

Mao Mao and Xiaolan huddle up, shivering on their dorm floor, trying to finish an English project. They have a warm blanket covering them but still didn't feel like enough. Both of their face flushed from the cold, Mao Mao rubs her nose. "Gosh Mao Mao, i didn't think it could get any colder outside!" Xiaolan says pouting. Mao Mao nods in agreement, "Your right, its freezing out today." She says as the blanket muffles her out. 

The two of them while still sulking about the weather, finish the project. It seems like the heaters were finally starting to work in the room, finally after complaining to the office about it 5 times this week. Xiaolan stands up then faces Mao Mao to speak, "Hey Mao Mao? Are you still going to Shisui's little dorm party tonight? I heard there's gonna be a bunch of food!" She says with a big gleaming smile on her face. Mao Mao sighs, "You know i dont like those parties." She says in her forward tone. Xiaolan frowns dramatically, "But Mao Mao!! you cant make me go alone!" She cries out. Mao Mao rolls her eyes, "Shisui will be there, you wont be alone." Xiaolan pouts and grabs onto Mao Mao's arm, "Please come with me Mao Mao! Please! Please! Please!!!!!" She pleads as she's begging her to not go to war or something. Mao Mao groans, "Okay fine, but if things get to crazy, we are leaving. Okay?" Xiaolan squeals, "Thank you Mao Mao!!!!" She says while giving Mao Mao a big hug, while Mao Mao tries to wiggle her way out.

An hour pasts, and the duo get dressed and pack their bags for the party.  Mao Mao wears and white shit and some jeans, with a comfy green jacket over it. And xiaolan wear a very fluffy beige jacket with some shorts and long socks.

As Mao Mao ties her shoes she hears a buzzing sound, it was shisui. Mao Mao picks up the phone only to hear a very loud shisui, who was clearly already partying. “MAO MAO!!! WHERE ARE YOUUU!!!?!” Mao Mao pulls the phone away from her ear. She sighs “I’m almost ready shisui, we’re practically out the door.” Mao Mao says eyeing xiaolan who is giggling. She hangs up on shisui who was just rambling on and they grab their bags and head out the door.

Chapter Text

Shisuis dorm wasn’t far from Mao Maos, only around a 5 minute walk. Yet it was still freezing their balls off, it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. They finally arrive to shisuis dorm, which you could hear the music from the outside. She pounds on the door and it very quickly swings open. “MAO MAO!!!! XIAOLAN!!!” She says very excitedly pulling them both into a big hug. Xiaolan squeezes her back and Mao Mao just accepts it. Shisui finally takes a step back and grabs their hands and pulls them inside, closing the door behind them.

To Mao Maos surprise, there wasn’t as many people as she thought there was gonna be. The music on the other hand seemed like it was a party for 50, Mao Mao only saw around 15 people. She observes the room while shisui takes xiaolan to the desserts.

As she’s about to walk around she hears a knock on the door. She turns around to open it to see the two most well know students at school. It was gyokuyou and Jinshi, despite Mao maos status, these two have grown quite fond of her. Gyokuyou Let’s out a small gasp at the sight of Mao Mao, “Oh hello Mao Mao! I didn’t think you would have shown!” She wouldn’t have had if she had the choice. “Well I-“ Mao mao speaks but gets cut off, “Hello,Mao Mao.” Jinshi says with a big smirk painted on his face. She snarls, “Jinshi let the girl talk!” gyokuyou Says jabbing him in the side. This makes Mao Mao laugh, “Thank you Gyokuyou. As I was saying, I wanted to let you know that shisui ran off but you are welcome in.” Gyokuyou smiles and pats Mao Mao on the head while walking in.

Jinshi glares at Mao Mao holding his side that Gyokuyou ever so gently jabbed him in. Mao Mao turns back to look at him outside, “are you coming in or are you gonna stand out there in the freezing cold.” Mao Mao says bluntly. He pouts, like a child that wasn’t a junior in college. “Hmph, fine.” He says walking past her, storming off dramatically. She sighs then walks in as well and shuts the door.

Chapter Text

Mao Mao watches as jinshi follows Gyokuyou into the room, passing by other people. She goes and sits on the small sofa waiting for xiaolan to come back.

There was a lot of people she didn’t know in the room, but she knew a couple. She knew shisui and obviously Jinshi and Gyokuyou, but she didn’t really know who the other girls were. Their names were Ailan, Guiyuan, and Yinghua, also there was a boy my age named lihaku. She didn’t know him well but she has a class with him.

Finally, what felt like years, xiaolan was back. She held a plate of deserts and a fun looking drink. She plops onto the couch, “look at all the sweets shisui as dad sent her!!! Oh they look so yummy!” She says as she stuffs food into her mouth. Mao mao has always been enjoyed xiaolan company, she may act young for her age, but she is pleasant to be around. They’ve known eachother as kids and grew up together, so it was only normal for them to stay friends.

As the continue to talk, shisui talks loud to make an announcement, “hellooooo everyone!!!” The room goes quiet and everyone focuses on her. She clears her throat and smiles, “thank you thank you! Since everyone is here, let’s play a game!! I have a couple in mind but I’m willing to listen for ideas.” The crowd starts to mumble and mention their ideas to shisui. After a minute someone mentions one to her, her eyes lit up and she shouts out, “yes!! That’s a perfect game!”

Everyone’s turns back to look at shisui. She claps her hands together, “Thank you lihaku for the perfect suggestion! We’re gonna play…….. seven minutes in heaven!!!” People start to whisper some more excited than others. “Let’s all circle up!” Shisui says as people start to gather together. Mao Mao groans, why would she wanna play a game where she is trapped in a bathroom with someone, uncomfortably, for seven minutes. Xiaolan on the other hand, was stoked, she grabs Mao maos hand swiftly and drags her near the circle.

They both sits down and shisui come back into the room with an empty beer bottle in her hand. She sits down and starts to explain the rules, “does anyone not know how to play?” A couple people raise their hands. “Alright let me explain, so someone takes a turn and spin the bottle and whoever lands on you and that person have to go into the bathroom for seven minutes, sound good?” People nod their heads and verbally agree. Shisui squeals, “okay sounds good! Who wants to start!!!” Around 30 minutes go by and people are taking turns spinning the bottle, some interactions were clearly awkward and others…well, let’s say some were extra excited.

Not long after xiaolan went, (who got shisui NOT A SHIP) it was Mao Maos turn. She really did not care to play this dumb game, she found it quite pointless. The group cheered her on as she grabs the bottle, she looks up for a mere second to see jinshi, staring. She quickly looks back down at the bottle and spins it fast, backing up back into her spot.

the bottle seems like it spins forever, leaving everyone in suspense. A lot of people knew Mao Mao was very standoffish and not very “like able”. So it seemed like a lot of the crowd was praying that it wouldn’t land on them. 

(POV CHANGE: jinshis pov)

Jinshi watched as the bottle spun, god he hoped it landed on him. Jinshi has always liked Mao Mao, she’s the only girl that seems to not like him, he liked that. Not to sound stuck up but it was unusual to him, so now ge can’t get her out of him mind. “Oh please land on me” he thinks to himself.

(POV CHANGE: Mao Maos pov)

The bottle slows down, all eyes on it. It slows down and it’s close to lihaku, but it seems to have a sudden shift. It stops. She looks up swiftly to see who it is. Jinshi. The one and only Jinshi. Of course it was him, it’s ALWAYS HIM.

Chapter Text

The group is cheering them on as they stand up. Mao Mao grits her teeth, she didn’t even want to be here in the first place, and now she’s stuck playing a game where she has to be in a bathroom with JINSHI for 7 minutes. God her life was soooooo hard.

Mao Mao looks over at gyokuyou who has a big big big smirk on her face. She has been trying to get them together since Mao Maos freshman year. And now probably in her mind she thinks her ship is sailing. Mao Mao sighs and looks at Jinshi, “let’s just get this over with.” She grabs his hand and they walk to the bathroom, followed by cheers and whistles.

They enter the bathroom and Mao Mao shuts the door behind them. Then they hear the chair getting placed in between the doorknob to lock it. Mao Mao faces the door, she didn’t want to turn around and see his dumb smug face. Before she got to turn around, jinshi blurts out, “are you okay with this?” What, am I okay with this??? I want to go home but it’s not that big of a deal? She looks at him, “it’s fine it’s just seven minutes. Not like we have to do anything.” Jinshi almost looked sad at her choice of words. Mao Mao raises a brow, “what’s with the face?” She asks bluntly, CLEARLY not reading the room. He flushes a bit (like a small school girl LOL), “well I, well-“ he seems to be tripping over his own words.

He sighs then attempts to to speak again, “The point of the game is to get two people in a room and try to get them to hook up…” Mao Mao shrugs her shoulders, “Yeah I know.” Jinshi looks baffled at her blunt words. “Well then- should we?-“ he says before getting cut off, “should we what?” Mao Mao says. Mao Mao swears she sees his eye twitch, “D-do I need to spell it out for you?????” He says quite loudly. She tilts her head like a confused cat, “well apparently?” She states. He brings himself towards her and holds onto her arm.

This shocks Mao Mao and her eyes widen as the tall man towers over her. “Then shall we- or jeez…..Should we hook up????” He says beet red. Mao Mao takes a good while to process his pretty forward words, her eyes widen slightly. “I-“ she manages to get out, “here?” She says. Jinshi hesitates shocked by her surprisingly calm words. “Y-yes. Uh- please..” he says awkwardly.

The room goes silent, it feels like the 7 minutes should be up already. But realistically it’s probably only been 1. They stay close together, their bodies almost touching. Mao Mao with no word at all brings her hand up to cup his face. His eyes widen, not moving one inch, almost scared that he would scare her away. She rubs her thumb slowly over his cheek, his cheeks grow redder.

She gets on her tippy toes to bring their faces closer together. In a whisper tone she says, “You have six minutes.” Jinshi freezes. Almost like a statue, processing the words that just came out of her mouth. Mao Mao sits there for a second, almost about to take back her words. But before she does jinshi wakes tf up and picks her up in a swift movement. This catches her by surprise and she wraps her legs around him and holds onto him tight. Her back against the door making a thud, and his hands on her thighs to keep her up. Their faces close together, practically tasting eachothers breath. They both were left speechless at eachothers actions and what was gonna happen next….

Chapter Text

The two stare at each other, speechless. Mao Mao looks at him then at his lips, wondering what they were going to say or do next. It seems like Jinshi was about to say something, but stops, still staring at Mao Mao. She brings her clenched hand off his shoulder and brings it to his face, touching his cheek. Another quick look at his lips and Jinshi takes that as a sign to go in and not look back. He swiftly brings their lips together, capturing her in a kiss. It was intimate yet short, they pull apart. Jinshi quickly looks at Mao Mao for reassurance, "is- was- was that okay??" she says nothing, this worries Jinshi. He goes to speak once more but Mao Mao cuts him off by mashing their faces together, more urgently this time. He adjusts her and brings their bodies closer together as they kiss in each others arms, lifting her up higher. Both eager for each others touch, after longing for one another secretly and loudly.

Jinshi continues to hold her up while walking to the bathroom counter, sitting her up on it. Mao Mao breaks apart for a gasp of air, along with Jinshi, catching their breath. He lets out a nervous laugh, then he reaches for her face and softly rubs her cheek. Mao Mao returns this and leans into the gentle hand. They knew their time was limited, but it didn't feel right to just waist it all on lust. "I dont think you understand how long I've been wanting to do that." Jinshi says with a sigh. Mao Mao shrugs her shoulders, "Well i have a pretty good idea, you aren't very subtle, you know that right? Heh, also Gyokuyou is always filling me in on your daily yearning." Mao Mao says with a big grin on her face, yet with the same monotone tone. Jinshi goes red, "SHES BEEN TELLING YOU WHAT." which was said very loudly and everyone outside the bathroom DEFINITELY heard that. 

Mao Mao quickly covers his loud ass mouth, "Shhhh, dumbass." She says with a scrunched face. He chuckles with her hand covering his mouth. He then places his hand on top of hers and kisses the inside of her palm, placing butterflies in her stomach. He trails from her hand, to her arm, and then to her shoulder, making Mao Mao grow red. "You are so beautiful, Mao Mao. I wish i had more time with you, seven minuets is not enough for everything i want to d-" He gets cut off by the loud removal of the chair places by the door. They quickly separate, Jinshi going near the wall and Mao Mao hopping off the sink. 

With a very quick swing of the door, Shisui stands there grinning. "Timeeesss up...." She says with a sinister tone. Giving Mao Mao a (you have to tell me EVERYTHING) look. Mao Mao lets out a big sigh and leaves the bathroom, passing Shisui nonchalantly. Shisui looks Jinshi up and down, he clearly still looks disheveled from ykw, so she perks her eyebrows up twice then follows Mao Mao. As the two (+ Shisui) exit the bathroom, people are ooohing and ahhhing, agitating Mao Mao. They sit back down in the circle and the game goes on.

Around an hour passes, and people get bored and start to migrate to do other things. Leaving Mao Mao, Jinshi, Gyokuyou, and Xiaolan who was asleep on Mao Mao, in the living room. Jinshi and Gyokuyou are talking to each other, while Mao Mao scrolls on her phone, looking at the latest new found poison recipe. 

After a while she hears a yelp, almost sounding like a little girl? she looks up over and Gyokuyou and Jinshi to just realize it was Jinshi, who was oddly red, while Gyokuyou was giggling. He bonks her head, which somehow makes her laugh harder. Jinshi almost as flushed as he was in the bathroom, looks over at the observing Mao Mao, they lock eyes. He quickly turns back to look a Gyokuyou who was still loosing her shit, she wonders what had been said to cause both reactions. Gyokuyou finally finding her composure calls Mao Mao over, "Mao Mao dear! Come here for a second~" She says with a sly tone, CLEARLY up to something. She softly rests Xiaolan on the couch, then walks over to the two. With a swift movement Gyokuyou stands up and leans over Mao Mao's shoulder to whisper something in her ear. No wonder the two were related, their mannerisms were VERY similar, it catches Mao Mao off guard. Jinshi watches as Gyokuyou clearly schemes in her ear, still flushed from Gyokuyous earlier comments about their bathroom encounter.

Gyokuyou separates from Mao Mao's ear, smiling.  She then claps her hands together, "Well it looks like i have to go! Ka Yang wants me back at the dorm, Toddles!" She says practically skipping out the door. 

The two stay their quietly for a bit, before Jinshi breaks the silence. "So.. what did she say??" Jinshi says looking at Mao Mao curiously. She looks back, their eyes locking, "Hm, she told me i shouldn't say, or well, not here at least." She says playfully and with her same tone. He grabs onto her hand, "Come onnnn, tell meeeee." He says practically whining. She yanks her hand back, with a quite peculiar and disgusted face. He stands up while letting out a loud humph, like a child. he then breaks her bubble by coming closer to her, and holding onto her waist. Her eyes widen as he says in a low tone, "Well then, can you tell me somewhere more, Private?" Her face flushes. Then with no words said they quickly leave the party, gone like Houdini.

Xiaolan ended up staying at Shisui's, after Shisui's practically begs her not to leave (She knows what's going down....) Leaving the two with some alone time. As the morning comes, Jinshi and Mao Mao stay in bed, cuddled up like animals who are looking for warmth. Mao Mao's bed was small and wasn't sure why they chose her place and not his, but it didn't matter anymore. Mao Mao wakes up first, she goes to move but BIG ASS Jinshi is crushing her. She groans and tries to lift him off, after MANY attempts she gives up, letting out a big sigh. Jinshi who was apparently awake the whole time, lets out a low chuckle, holding her tighter in their embrace. "Mmmphm... please dont go.." He says with his usual whiney tone. She rolls her eyes and strokes his hair softly, "I wont you dummy... you are just heavy and ten times larger then me. I'm just trying to breathe-." He lets out a small mumble and shoves his face into the crook of her neck, then soon falling asleep. She exhales then stares at his relaxed form and smiles, then closes her eyes and takes in the moment. falling asleep not long after.
