Chapter Text

Charlie and Vaggie have wanted to become mothers together ever since they first became an official couple. They could not help but envision littler versions of them running around the hotel as they balanced raising their children and running the hotel together. Since they had more than enough hands on deck, if both of them were busy, anyone else at the hotel would be more than down to help raise their future children. It was just finding the right time where they both felt ready to raise children that kept the girls waiting.

Charlie decided to sit Vaggie down in their room privately one Sunday morning after everyone was finished with breakfast. It was time to have the conversation about having children of their own.

“Vaggie, I know that we have been married for a couple of years at this point, and I know that you mentioned you wanted to become a mother as much as I have since we started dating. I feel like it’s time for us to begin our motherhood journey.”

Vaggie smiled and hugged her wife and Charlie hugged her back. “I have wanted to ask you about that for a while, I just didn’t know when would have been the right time. Thank you for finally bringing it up.”

“I know that I could use my family magic to create our baby, but I want to do it in a more natural way. I thought that maybe after we order lunch, we can ask Angel if he would like to be our sperm donor.”

“I’m sure he will be on board. My only issue is, are you sure you want to be the one carrying the baby? Pregnancy is not really the smoothest journey. I should know, I saw it with my older sister when I was in high school. Besides, I don’t mind carrying the baby because at least everyone else would expect the pregnancy hormones to get to me.”

“I should be okay, Vaggie; plus, I think you would need a break, and I don’t want the pregnancy hormones to get to you. I’m sure they won’t get to me.”

“You sure? I know you mentioned you wanted a natural pregnancy, which means you don’t want to use any magic to make the pain go away.”

“I’m positive, Vaggie. I doubt I will experience any extreme mood swings.”

“Okay; I’m trusting you.”

While Vaggie was still having doubts that Charlie was going to be relaxed when pregnant, it was still a possibility. She did not want to completely doubt her wife entirely. This was going to be a big milestone for them, and the rest of the hotel, after all. Either way, Vaggie would still be right at Charlie’s side throughout the entire pregnancy.

A few hours later, after Charlie submitted everyone’s lunch orders, it was time for Vaggie and her to sit Angel down to ask him the big question. Once the girls asked Angel to sit with them on the couch to ask him something, they squeezed each other’s hands in anticipation and anxiety.

“Angel, I want you to know that we cherish you and the joy you have brought to our lives and the hotel these last several years. As you know, Vaggie and I have wanted to have a child for quite a while now, and we talked this morning, and we figured that now is the time for us to finally become mothers. Now, we just want to ask you if you would like to be our sperm donor for our pregnancy,” Charlie explained.

“Hold on a second; can’t you use magic to make one of you girls pregnant?” Angel asked, somewhat confused.

“Charlie and I decided that we wanted to have a natural pregnancy, so that meant no magic to conceive or ease the contractions. It would mean the world to us if you were able to help us,” Vaggie replied.

“I’ll tell you what; if you agree to be our sperm donor, I will be your surrogate when it’s time for you and Husk to have a child of your own. How’s that?” Charlie compromised.

Angel smiled and hugged Charlie and Vaggie. “It’s a deal. I’ve wanted you to be our surrogate when it comes time, and I’m so happy you would agree to do so.”

It was settled, they will start the process as soon as they would be available to do so. The process was going to be so exciting for all three of them that they would not be able to contain it for the next week.

Two weeks after the conception day at the doctor’s office, it was time for Charlie to take the pregnancy test. Once the test was positive, she was going to tell Vaggie first, then the rest of the hotel. After Charlie peed in a disposable plastic cup, she dipped her pregnancy test in the urine sample and kept in for approximately two minutes. She was noticing the minus sign on the test changing to a plus sign, her eyes widening in excitement. It was official! Charlie and Vaggie were going to become mothers!

Charlie knocked on her bedroom door to wake up Vaggie; she decided to take the pregnancy test while everyone was still sleeping so she could keep it a secret until later. Vaggie opened the door, her hair messed up and yawning. Charlie stood in front of their door, smiling and holding the positive pregnancy test up to her chest to show Vaggie. Once Vaggie woke up a little bit and noticed what Charlie was holding, her mood immediately changed and she opened her mouth in shock.

“Wait, does that mean…”

“Mmhmm. We’re going to be mothers!”

Charlie and Vaggie squealed as quietly as they could and lightly jumped in place so they did not wake up the rest of the hotel. They could not wait to share the news to everyone else after breakfast! This was the most excited they have been about anything since getting the news that Sir Pentious was redeemed!

“Once everyone is done cleaning up breakfast, sit everyone in the lobby so we can make the announcement,” Charlie mentioned.

“Of course, mi vida; this is so exciting!” Vaggie replied.

The girls kissed each other on the lips as passionately as they could before making their way downstairs. Charlie knew for a fact that she and Vaggie were going to have the best celebratory sex that night.

Once everyone was done with breakfast, Vaggie asked everyone to sit down in the lobby for the special announcement. Alastor, Angel, Husk, Niffty, Cherri Bomb, Lucifer, and Lilith all made their way to the couch to see what was going on. While Angel already knew what they were going to announce, given the timing, everyone else did not. Cherri even noticed Angel smiling and his leg shaking a little bit.

“Do you have any knowledge of what’s going on?” Cherri asked suspiciously.

“I do, but I’m not gonna say anything until Charlie and Vaggie do. It’s big.”

Cherri rolled her eye as Charlie and Vaggie stood in front of the couch together. They trembled with excitement before Charlie began talking.

“Everyone, as you know, this hotel has been part of our lives for many years, and my relationship with Vaggie only grew since the hotel took off. As you also know, ever since Vaggie and I got married, we have been holding off on having children because we wanted to find natural ways for us to have biological children. Well…”

Charlie then moved her arm from behind her back to show off the positive pregnancy test to everyone else. Lucifer’s face began to flush gold as he fainted on top of Angel and Husk on the couch. He talked to Lilith so much about how much they wanted to become grandparents, but now that it was actually happening, he was so overwhelmed that his brain went on overdrive. Lilith took her husband off of Angel and Husk and took him to their room to recover from the excitement.

“Don’t worry, Apple Pie, you can continue without us. We’ll celebrate with you once your father wakes up,” Lilith said as she carried Lucifer upstairs.

“Okay… I guess I should have expected that. Anyway, now that we are going to have a new guest at the Hazbin Hotel, and running the hotel while also having a small child around is going to be a hassle, each and every one of you are going to be our child’s non-biological aunts and uncles. We’re going to be such a big, happy family and I’m so excited for our new journey as mothers!”

Angel was the first one to stand up and hug Charlie and Vaggie. “Oh, and we almost forgot to tell you; all of this was possible because of Angel. He was more than happy to be our sperm donor for our baby and we want to thank you, Angel, for making our motherhood journey possible,” Vaggie added.

“I’m so excited to become a guncle! Cherri and I are already thinking about the perfect ways to teach the kid how to prank their uncle Husk and uncle Alastor after they turn two,” Angel explained.

“I guess we’re gonna have to start treading carefully once the kid turns two,” Husk replied.

“We’re also planning on calling Emily and Sir Pentious about the news. I would want nothing more than to have them be our long-distance aunt and uncle, so during the rare times they do get to come over, it will be a big event for them,” Charlie continued.

It was not long until Lucifer and Lilith came back downstairs after Lilith allowed Lucifer to recover from his fainting spell earlier.

“I’m so sorry about that, Duckling; what did we miss?” Lucifer asked as he gave his daughter a kiss on the cheek and sat back down on the couch with his wife.

“You didn’t miss much; we just announced that the rest of the hotel will be our aunts and uncles and we’re allowing Emily and Sir Pentious to also be a part of our child’s life, even though they are further away.”

“That’s great, Sweet Pea; your child is going to have so much love in their home and they’re going to be the luckiest kid in Hell because they are going to have you and Vaggie as their mothers,” Lilith mentioned.

“Thank you, Mom; I also know that you and Dad will be amazing grandparents to our child. We also want you guys to plan our baby shower and gender reveal party together.”

“Do you want us to come with you to the doctor when it’s time to get that ultrasound?” Lucifer asked.

“Yes, and we will ask the doctor to only tell you guys the results because we want it to be a surprise.”

“Don’t worry, girls; we will make sure your parties are as special as possible and we’ll let everyone else help us, “ Lilith added.

“Thank you, Lilith; we’re going to head upstairs to call Emily and Sir Pentious about the news, and thank you, everyone for this time,” Vaggie said.

After the crew went back about their day, Charlie and Vaggie went back upstairs to video call Emily. She dialed her number to wait for her to pick up, and once Emily picked up, Charlie and Vaggie could see her with Sir Pentious also in the shot.

“Hi, Charlie! Hi, Vaggie! What’s up?” Emily said once she answered.

“Emily! Sir Pentious! Vaggie and I have the biggest news that we would like to share with you!” Charlie squealed excitedly as she hugged Vaggie near the camera.

“What is it? It has to be big if you’re this excited,” Sir Pentious added.

Charlie held the positive pregnancy test up to the camera to show Emily and Sir Pentious. They looked into the camera in disbelief and screamed in excitement once it hit them. Charlie and Vaggie screamed with them for two minutes until all four of them gave themselves some time to calm down.

“Are you serious? You’re going to have a baby?” Emily asked excitedly.

“Yep! I asked Angel Dust to be our sperm donor because we wanted a natural pregnancy and he agreed. I just took the pregnancy test once I woke up this morning. And I didn’t even tell you the best part! We want the both of you to also be their non-biological long-distance aunt and uncle because we want our kid to get to know you and have a bond with you both. We know you won’t be able to visit super often, but you’re still so important to us that we want you to be part of our kid’s life.”

Emily and Sir Pentious hugged each other and smiled once Charlie mentioned that she wanted them to be a part of their kid’s life. On the other end, Charlie and Vaggie also smiled and hugged each other, as Charlie kissed Vaggie on the forehead. Their child was going to have so much love that they would be more than grateful for everyone in their life.

“We need to start thinking of baby shower gifts right now,” Sir Pentious mentioned.

“Don’t worry, I’ll let my mom and dad know to not forget your invitations. They’re going to be planning the gender reveal and the baby shower.”

“Great! Once your registry is ready, send it to us so we can get started on gift ideas,” Emily said.

“Will do; we’ll let you know as soon as the registry is ready. But for now, be on the lookout for the gender reveal invitation in a couple months,” Vaggie replied.

Once both parties hung up the phone, Charlie and Vaggie hugged each other again excitedly before making their way back downstairs.

“I know you mentioned you were going to be fine carrying the baby when we first talked about having a child, but I just want to make sure you’re one hundred percent going to handle this for the next nine months?” Vaggie asked again.

“Of course, I’m going to be fine, sweetheart. I know that you’re worried about me, and I’m so grateful that you’re concerned for my well being, but I’m sure I’m going to be the chillest pregnant woman in hell.”

Chapter Text

When the first trimester came to a close, Lucifer and Lilith planned the most beautiful gender reveal party they could plan for their daughter. They invited all of her aunts and uncles from every other ring from hell, and Emily and Sir Pentious were coming from heaven to see if the baby was going to be a boy or a girl. The weeks leading up to the event were some of the most exciting weeks for the hotel, but especially for Lucifer and Lilith.

After Lucifer and Lilith got the results back from Charlie’s ultrasound, they looked at each other in astoundment and awe. Not only did they know what gender the baby was going to be, but there was also another surprise as well that they did not want to reveal until the party. They hugged and kissed each other before going upstairs to hide the ultrasound so Charlie could not find it, spoiling the surprise.

“I can’t believe it! Charlie and Vaggie are going to be so excited when the reveal happens next week!” Lucifer said once the couple made it to their room.

Niffty walked past Lucifer and Lilith, pushing a big box of pink and blue balloons to make an arch for the stairwell. Lucifer noticed her pushing the box and he and Lilith walked over to her to help. They lifted the box to move it over near the stairs.

“Thank you; I’ve been needing help with moving the balloons, but everyone is unavailable right now,” Niffty mentioned.

“No problem, Niff; do you need help with making the arch?” Lilith asked.

“Alastor and Angel are going to help me when they get back with the rest of the decorations. But thank you for offering.”

“You’re welcome; do you have any other balloon boxes that you need us to move?”

“I have three more boxes of balloons outside. I’m going to need your help to carry them inside.”

Lucifer and Lilith walked with Niffty outside to get the balloon boxes and move them to the stairwell. Niffty thought she was going to have to take the next two days to move the balloon boxes, which meant the arch would not have been finished in time for the party.

Right on cue, Alastor and Angel Dust came inside with the rest of the decorations and party supplies that they were also going to save for the baby shower in a couple of months. They put the boxes down to see that the balloons were already moved.

“Niffty! I’m surprised you ended up moving those boxes before we got back,” Alastor mentioned as he put his box down.

“Lucifer and Lilith helped me, actually; I wanted to get these boxes moved before you got home.”

“Thank you both for helping Niffty. Did you get the results yet?” Angel asked.

“We did, we just got them in the mail this morning. They’re upstairs in our room, and you wouldn’t believe this!” Lucifer replied.

Lucifer and Lilith took a turn whispering the surprise into Alastor’s, Angel’s, and Niffty’s ear. The three of them gasped in excitement and hugged them.

“Charlie and Vaggie are gonna be so excited during the party! Are they home yet?” Alastor asked.

“Not yet; they’re still shopping for maternity clothes for Charlie that she will need for the next trimesters,” Lilith pointed out.

“Okay, I guess we could get started on the arch before they get home. Do you two wanna help us?” Angel asked.

“We would love to!” Lucifer replied excitedly.

Before any of them could open any of the balloon boxes, Charlie and Vaggie came home with several bags in their hands. Now that the first trimester came to an end, Charlie’s bump was becoming bigger than it would normally be at this point of the pregnancy. Her old clothes were not fitting anymore, so she had to wear the same three maternity dresses for the last week that Vaggie bought for her at the beginning of the trimester.

“Hi, everyone! How’s the party preparations going?” Vaggie asked as she and Charlie put their bags down on the floor.

“Everything’s going smoothly! We were just about to start making the balloon arch,” Lucifer replied.

“I’m sure it’s going to look amazing! I can’t wait for next week already!” Charlie said before she and Vaggie made their way upstairs.

The rest of the hotel smiled as they got started on making the balloon arch for the party. Everything was going so smoothly that the excitement for the months to come spread around the hotel. While everyone was still worried about what the third trimester will have in store for them, they wanted to bask in the sunshine and Charlie’s beautiful pregnancy glow for the time being before all hell was going to break loose.

It was finally the day of the gender-reveal party, and everyone in the hotel was setting up while Charlie and Vaggie were in their room putting on their cute spring dresses and doing their makeup for the occasion. When she was done with her makeup, Charlie looked in the mirror to see that her bump was starting to make her look like she was seven months pregnant, even though she was only four months pregnant. She may have figured out the reason, but she did not want to jump to conclusions just yet. Lucifer and Lilith already told her that there was going to be another surprise that will be revealed at the party, which was already giving her some suspicions for the reveal.

“Hey, Vaggie, did Mom or Dad tell you anything in regards to what’s going to be revealed today?” Charlie asked.

“No, I asked your parents about the gender reveal, and they said they wanted to keep it a secret from me too since it was also my child. Why?” Vaggie answered.

“I was just wondering; how does my makeup look?”

Vaggie looked into her wife’s eyes and smiled brightly. “You look absolutely beautiful as always, hon. We should start heading downstairs now.”

Charlie and Vaggie shared a kiss before making their way downstairs to see Lucifer and Lilith downstairs waiting for them with the rest of the hotel putting up the last of the decorations. Charlie and Vaggie looked around the lobby in astonishment to see how much effort everyone put into decorating the lobby.

“Everyone should be here in about a half hour. I invited the rest of the Deadly Sins and remembered to invite Emily and Sir Pentious like you asked,” Lucifer said as he helped Husk put up the last decoration on the door.

“We also have the box both of you will open together behind the bar for you,” Lilith added.

“Perfect! Charlie and I can’t wait to find out if we’re having a boy or a girl!” Vaggie said excitedly.

It was not long until there was a knock on the door. Lucifer answered to see the rest of the deadly sins all coming into the hotel together. Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Mammon, Satan, Leviathan, and Belphegor greeted Lucifer and Lilith with the tightest hugs they could before greeting Charlie and Vaggie.

“Charlie! We haven’t seen you since the wedding a couple years ago! How have you and your wife been?” Ozzie asked as he hugged Charlie.

“We’re doing great; the past trimester hasn’t been giving me any problems yet,” Charlie replied as she rubbed her stomach.

“Well, I hope the kid won’t be too much of a pain for you for the next couple of months,” Bee mentioned as she hugged Charlie.

“Thank you, Aunt Bee; I hope so too. And honestly, I don’t think the baby is going to give me any issues. Everyone was worried, but things have been great so far.”

“We’re happy you’re at least healthy and the baby’s healthy. We were all thinking about presents to get you for your baby shower. Have you finished your registry yet?” Ozzie asked.

“Not yet; Vaggie and are still thinking of more items we want. But we’re almost finished with it. Dad will be sending it out to everyone in a few months.”

“Have you thought of any names yet?” Bee asked.

“We were talking about a few names. I made a list and so far, we haven’t narrowed it down much. Once we know if we’re having a boy or a girl, we’re definitely going to narrow the list down significantly.”

Charlie and Vaggie continued talking with the rest of her aunts and uncles from the other rings of Hell until there was another knock on the door. It must be Emily and Sir Pentious! Charlie knew they were going to be a little bit late, so she asked Lucifer and Lilith to wait until they got here to start the reveal. Charlie opened the door to see Emily and Sir Pentious waiting for her. They walked in and hugged Charlie simultaneously.

“Charlie! We missed you so much! How has pregnancy been treating you?” Sir Pentious said once he let go of Charlie.

“It’s been good so far. I have been getting a little bit of morning sickness here and there, but the baby hasn’t been giving me many issues yet.”

“Nice! I know the baby will be in good hands because they will have you and Vaggie as mothers,” Emily said.

“And you will have many more friends to help,” Sir Pentious added.

“Thank you, guys; I already think the baby will have an amazing childhood at the hotel,” Vaggie mentioned.

Before the four of them could continue the conversation, Angel, Cherri, Husk, and Niffty noticed Sir Pentious and ran over to him to tackle him into a group hug. Everyone in the hotel knew Sir Pentious was coming, but it has been such a long time since they saw him that any time they saw him, it was going to be an event.

“Sir Pentious! How have you been? We’ve been talking about how Charlie and Vaggie wanted you in their kid’s life and when the next time we would see you again would be,” Cherri Bomb said as she kissed Sir Pentious.

“I’ve been doing well; Emily and I have been skimming through all the baby stores in Heaven just to see what we would like to get for the baby.”

“It’s been such a long time since I went baby shopping, I was so excited that I had to take Sir Pentious with me to look for something cute for the baby!” Emily added.

“I mean, the registry should be sent out to everyone soon, so once we know if we’re having a boy or a girl, we’ll get started on making it,” Charlie replied.

“I’ve also been meaning to ask, Sir Pentious, how has Molly been doing? Charlie was talking about wanting to invite her to the baby shower and I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to her since I was so busy,” Angel Dust said.

“She’s been doing amazing; I guess we should invite her to go baby shopping with us when Charlie and Vaggie send the registry to everyone,” Emily replied.

“Don’t worry, we’re already making the guest list so we could get started on sending out invitations in a few months,” Charlie explained.

“Y’know, the four of us were also talking about some baby shower gifts because Niffty was just looking some things up yesterday, and we think we found what we wanted to get them. Now, we just need the gender reveal to narrow our choices down,” Husk mentioned.

Charlie and the crew continued talking with Emily, Sir Pentious, and the Sins until Lucifer rang a bell to get everyone’s attention.

“Everyone, it’s time for the moment you’ve been waiting for! I want everyone to come sit in front of the stairwell so we could get started on the gender reveal!”

Charlie and Vaggie made their way to the stairwell underneath the balloon arch as everyone else sat in front of them in the lobby. Lucifer and Lilith came out from the bar to bring a large cardboard box that was wrapped with white wrapping paper and decorated with little pink and blue hearts all over it and a giant question mark on all four sides; two pink and two blue on opposite sides of each other.

“Charlie, Vaggie, before you open the box, we just want to tell you how proud we all are of you that your dream of becoming mothers is finally coming true. You’re already a third into your pregnancy journey, and I know the rest of it will be filled with a lot more surprises. You are both two of the most compassionate and selfless girls in Hell, and this hotel is more than enough proof of that. Lucifer and I already know that you are going to be amazing mothers,” Lilith said in a speech she prepared for the past week.

Charlie blushed when Lilith was done with her speech and looked at the box with Vaggie. They looked at each other again and each grabbed a flap of the box. The girls put their free arms around each other and smiled at everyone else at the hotel to do a countdown before they open the box.

“3…! 2…! 1…!” Everyone else counted down.

Charlie and Vaggie opened the box together to see pink balloons rising up to the ceiling and the box being filled with pink shredded confetti paper. It’s a girl! Charlie and Vaggie screamed in excitement and jumped up and down as they hugged each other. Everyone else cheered and snapped pictures of Charlie and Vaggie hugging as the balloons continued rising until Lucifer and Lilith stopped them for the second surprise. Charlie forgot that there was another surprise for the party.

Lucifer and Lilith went back to the bar to carry out another cardboard box that was wrapped in white wrapping paper and decorated in little pink and blue hearts all around it. The box also had the pink and blue question marks on all four sides of it.

Charlie and Vaggie gasped in excitement and hugged each other again with tears streaming down their faces. They could not believe it! They were having twins! That means they were going to have two new guests at the hotel in a couple months! Charlie and Vaggie took some time to let their emotions out before calming down.

The girls did the same thing they did for the last box, holding on to one flap each and putting their free arms around each other in an embrace.

“3…! 2…! 1…!” Everyone counted down again.

Charlie and Vaggie opened the second box and more pink balloons floated to the ceiling as they dug through the box to see more pink shredded paper confetti. They screamed with excitement again and hugged each other. Everyone else cheered and snapped more pictures of the girls as they continued hugging and letting their emotions out and the balloons continued rising to the ceiling. Once Charlie and Vaggie let all their emotions out, they each grabbed a balloon and Lucifer arranged the boxes so that one was in front of Charlie and the other was in front of Vaggie. Lucifer and Lilith snapped pictures of their daughter and daughter-in-law holding the balloons and with the boxes to send to everyone they knew, and everyone else stood up to take pictures of the girls.

Once the pictures of just Charlie and Vaggie were finished, Alastor, Angel Dust, Husk, Niffty, Cherri Bomb, and Sir Pentious came into the shot to do a round of pictures together. They each grabbed a pink balloon and put them on their stomachs to mimic baby bumps as Charlie put her balloon over her head to make it look like she was about to throw it. They all smiled and laughed together as everyone else snapped their pictures.

The crew did another picture with their heads popping out of the balloons, making silly faces together. Lucifer, Lilith, Emily, and the Sins continued snapping pictures as the crew made more silly faces together until they all burst into laughter together again with everyone still taking pictures. The crew let go of their balloons and took one more picture with everyone putting one hand on Charlie’s bump. Everyone smiled as everyone else snapped the last photos with the whole hotel crew, past and present.

Everyone except for Sir Pentious sat down and Emily came into the shot to take a picture with Charlie and Vaggie. They started with the balloon pictures again and a few more with Emily and Sir Pentious putting one hand on Charlie’s bump. The pattern continued with all the Sins, including her father, for a couple of pictures with Charlie and Vaggie, then a couple of pictures with Lucifer and Lilith.

After the photo-op, Lucifer and Lilith went to the kitchen to get a giant pink cake that was decorated with fondant pink balloons and little fondant ducks (courtesy of Lucifer) on it. The cake had “It’s (Two) Girls!” written on it in decorative icing. Charlie, Vaggie, Lucifer, and Lilith cut the first two slices to give to Charlie and Vaggie, and Lucifer and Lilith cut the rest of the cake for everyone else.

Once everyone got a slice of cake, Charlie and Vaggie made their way to sit on the lobby’s couch with their cake and Emily sat next to them. Ozzie and Bee also sat with Charlie, Vaggie, and Emily.

“I can’t believe you’re having twins!” Emily exclaimed before taking a bite out of her cake.

“And they’re going to be girls! Do you think they’ll be identical?” Bee asked.

“I hope so, but even if they’re not, Vaggie and I are still going to do the matching outfits for them,” Charlie explained as she gave Vaggie a side hug.

“Angel was telling us how when he was alive, his mom used to put Molly and him in matching outfits until they were around five years old and they were getting tired of it,” Vaggie added as she took a bite out of her cake.

“I’m sure Angel is already thinking about buying matching outfits for the twins as we speak,” Ozzie said.

And right on cue, Angel, Husk, and Cherri join Charlie Vaggie, Ozzie, Bee, Emily and Sir Pentious on the couch with them, holding their cake slices. Cherri leaned on Sir Pentious’s shoulder and he put his arm around her.

“What are you guys talking about?” Cherri asked.

“Charlie and Vaggie were just talking about how they want to do matching outfits with their daughters when they’re born,” Sir Pentious caught up.

“Well, I think I know what I’m gonna get for the baby shower,” Angel pointed out.

“Do you still have your old baby outfits so we can borrow them?” Charlie asked.

“What? No; you really think we’d have our baby clothes come to Heaven and Hell after we die?”

“Sorry, I just thought that hand-me-downs would be nice.”

“Well, you should have plenty of hand-me-downs. I’m sure your parents kept a lot of your baby clothes,” Ozzie added.

“That would be nice to have. I don’t want anyone to be spending too much money on anything that will be on the registry. But I’ll expect my parents to regift my old baby clothes.”

“I’m sure he wants another use for that duckie onesie you came home from the hospital in when you were born,” Bee added.

“What? Oh my gosh, I need to see that!” Angel said.

“My parents have all our home movies stashed away in their closet. Maybe we can all watch them together after the babies are born.”

“Will you video chat with us so we could watch them too?” Emily asked.

“Of course; I’ll also have Vaggie call you once we’re in the hospital so you can meet the babies.”

“Are you excited to have twins?” Husk asked.

“We are; usually we would be more stressed, but considering we will have so much help, I think we’ll be in good hands,” Charlie replied.

Everyone continued talking and eating their cake until it was time for everyone to leave. Emily and Sir Pentious had to leave before dark since that was always their curfew if they ever visited Hell. Everyone hugged Sir Pentious at the same time in a group hug before he and Emily left to go back to Heaven.

Once Emily and Sir Pentious left, Charlie went to say goodbye to the rest of the Sins. They all congratulated Charlie and Vaggie on the fact that they were having twin girls, and mentioned how they would see her at the baby shower in a couple months. Charlie sat back down on the couch in exhaustion as Vaggie followed her.

“Are you okay?” Vaggie asked as she leaned her head on Charlie’s shoulder.

“I’m alright, I’m just feeling a lot more tired,” Charlie replied.

Vaggie noticed Charlie was starting to doze off and decided to carry her up to her room. However, she was noticing how much heavier she was getting, so she asked Alastor to help her. Alastor agreed and held her thighs as Vaggie held her chest area. They took Charlie upstairs to go to sleep as Lucifer, Lilith, and Niffty began cleaning the balloons and confetti from the lobby.

While Charlie’s energy was beginning to decline, everyone was starting to get a little more worried about her symptoms later in the pregnancy, now that everyone knows that she’s going to have two babies. However, everyone was still trying to stay optimistic about the coming months and the babies’ birth.

Chapter Text

Three months have passed since the gender reveal party, so Charlie has reached her third trimester. She has hardly been eating since the end of the second trimester, and when she was, she was mostly eating the raspberry-filled chocolate that Niffty left in a stash for her at the beginning of the second trimester, and a bag of sour cream and onion chips in the kitchen. It was starting to get rare that Charlie was craving something besides that.

Vaggie has also noticed that Charlie is starting to become a lot more emotional than she usually was. She would start crying at the most unexpected times, and Vaggie would have to comfort her to make sure she understands that the babies are going to be okay. She had to be with Charlie while the rest of the hotel was preparing for the baby shower coming up.

Lucifer and Lilith have been spending the last two months making preparations for the baby shower, and after they sent the invitations, they already got so many RSVPs that Charlie and Vaggie were going to be so spoiled with lots of presents at the shower. There were so many friends that Charlie and Vaggie wanted to invite that were not at the gender reveal party, and they could not help but scream with excitement when Lucifer and Lilith announced that they were all going to come to the baby shower.

The day of the baby shower finally came, and Charlie was feeling more excited than she would usually be at an event. At least the mood swings were leaning more towards excitement than anger. The Sins, Emily, and Sir Pentious were going to be coming today, but Charlie also wanted to invite Molly, which alone excited Angel Dust. Charlie also asked to invite Rosie and Vaggie asked to invite the Carmines and Lucifer and Lilith agreed. Alastor ‘s respect for Lucifer immediately shot up once he agreed to invite Rosie.

Charlie and Vaggie came downstairs in the fluffy pink dresses that Lilith bought for them when the three girls went shopping together. The rest of the hotel looked at the girls and opened their mouths in astonishment to see them in their dresses, with their hair down and curled, and their makeup done with pink eyeshadow and blush, courtesy of Angel Dust. Charlie’s bump was even visible in the dress. Charlie and Vaggie could already imagine that the rest of the party would be so astonished once they saw them.

The hotel was decorated with the balloon arch from the gender reveal party, with a couple of balloons replaced since some of them popped. In front of the arch was a stack of giant building blocks that spelled the word “BABY” vertically. There were pink balloons tied to the ends of all the chairs, some of them saying “SWEET BABY GIRLS” with the last “S” being written on them with permanent marker by Lucifer, and Husk reconfigured the bar to turn it into a dessert table.

“Charlie, Vaggie, you look…” Lucifer said once he saw his daughter and daughter-in-law in the dresses.

“You both look absolutely gorgeous! I knew I picked out the right dresses for you!” Lilith added as she ran up to Charlie and Vaggie and hugged them.

“Thank you, Mom,” Charlie started.

“We figured it would look nice; Charlie and I were so excited to wear them today,” Vaggie added.

“Well, I can say that your mother has amazing taste,” Alastor replied.

“I also love your makeup! Angel, could you do my makeup like that one day?” Niffty asked.

“Of course, Niff; maybe the next event we have here, I will do your makeup,” Angel answered as he picked Niffty up to hug her.

It was not long until there was a knock on the hotel’s door. The Sins must be here! They did say they were planning on coming early. Lucifer opened the door to let Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Mammon, Satan, Levithan, and Belphegor in, and they all put their gifts on the side of the stairwell with everyone else’s gifts before they hugged Charlie and Vaggie as tightly as they could without potentially suffocating the twins.

“You would love what we got you! We went on a little shopping trip at the Pride Ring Mall to get our gifts,” Leviathan mentioned.

“Lucifer and Lilith invited us to come by and do the baby shower shopping,” Mammon added.

“I can’t wait to see what you got us!” Charlie replied.

Everyone continued talking until there was another knock on the door. Charlie and Vaggie made their way to the door to see that Emily, Sir Pentious, and Molly are here. They came inside and put their presents down so they could hug everyone. Once Angel and Molly saw each other, they ran up to each other for a tight hug.

“Tony! You have no idea how excited I was when Charlie invited me to the baby shower! I’ve been wanting to go baby shopping for a while now and when I got the invitation, I had to call Emily and Sir Pentious to go shopping together!” Molly exclaimed.

“We each got something, but we helped each other pick everything out,” Sir Pentious added.

“We can’t wait to see them!” Charlie proclaimed.

The crew continued talking to Emily and Sir Pentious until there was another knock on the door. Charlie and Vaggie went to the door to see the Carmines with Zestial and Rosie. Vaggie figured that if was to invite the Carmines, she should also invite Zestial. They decided to come with Rosie since they went shopping for their gifts together.

Charlie hugged Rosie and Carmilla, Clara, Odette, and Zestial smothered Vaggie in a group hug. Clara and Odette squealed in just as much excitement as everyone else did when the baby was first announced.

“I can’t believe you’re having twin girls! They’re going to have the best twin tias in the Pride Ring!” Clara said.

“Gracias, girls; Charlie and I found several books at the library about raising twins, and I wanted to ask if your mom had any left over?” Vaggie asked.

Carmilla walked up to the girls after talking to Rosie and Zestial and hearing Vaggie’s question. “All those books were from when we were all alive. Even if we were able to bring those books to Hell, they’re very outdated, so I don’t think you or Charlie would benefit from them,” she explained.

“I mean, it would still be nice to have more resources.”

As Vaggie continued talking with the Carmines, Charlie talked with Rosie and Alastor about the twins.

“Charlie, are you planning on taking the kids to Cannibal Town to come visit? I would love to see them more often!” Rosie mentioned.

“Don’t worry, Rosie; we’ll take walks to Cannibal Town with Alastor to come visit you. I’m sure they will have a blast with their new auntie,” Charlie explained.

“We’ll set aside one day a month to see you and take the girls with you. They will see you as family in no time,” Alastor added.

It was not long until there was another knock on the door. Charlie was not expecting anyone else to come. Vaggie, however, excitedly made her way to the door to answer it, and it was her father, Destino! She asked Lucifer and Lilith to invite him to the baby shower after meeting him for the first time a few years ago. Ever since then, she stayed in touch with him regularly and told him he was going to be an abuelo to twins.

“Papi! ¡Estoy tan contenta de que lo hayas hecho!” Vaggie exclaimed. Since he did not know any English, Vaggie had to be his and everyone else’s translators.

“No me perdería esto por nada del mundo. Mi niña pequeña va a ser mamá!” Destino replied as he hugged his daughter.

Charlie noticed him and came up to him to talk. “I didn’t expect you to be here, Destino, but I’m so happy you came!”

“Ella no esperaba que vinieras, pero está feliz de que hayas venido,” Vaggie translated to her father.

“Magdalena quería sorprender a todos. No te he visto desde la boda, pero estás igual de hermosa.” Destino replied.

“I wanted to surprise you. He hasn’t seen you since the wedding but you look just as beautiful.”

“Gracias, Destino,” Charlie replied.

After talking to everyone for a while, Lucifer and Lilith rang a bell to begin the gift portion of the shower. Vaggie stood with Lucifer and Lilith to translate for Destino.

“Thank you, everyone, for coming to our little girl’s baby shower. We are so excited to meet our two newest guests at the Hazbin Hotel!” Lucifer started.

“Gracias a todos por venir al baby shower de la pequeña niña de Lucifer y Lilith. ¡Estamos muy emocionados de conocer a nuestros dos nuevos huéspedes en el Hazbin Hotel!” Vaggie translated.

“We are now going to start with the gift portion. And, of course, we want to start with our gift,” Lilith added.

“Ahora vamos a comenzar con la parte del regalo. Y, por supuesto, queremos comenzar con el regalo de Lucifer y Lilith.”

Lilith handed Charlie her and Lucifer’s gift, which they got together. Charlie and Vaggie opened the gift together to reveal the duckie onesie that Lucifer gave to Charlie when she was a baby. It was getting run down when Lucifer found it, so he decided to fix it up and re-gift it to Charlie. The second Charlie took a small sniff of the onesie, she broke down in tears. It has been such a long time since she even saw this duckie onesie that she thought she was never going to see it again. But now that Lucifer found it, he figured he would give it as a gift for his daughter to give to his granddaughters.

Vaggie noticed a bump in the tissue paper and started to dig through it. She found another duckie onesie that was identical to the one that Charlie took out of the box. It took Lucifer and Lilith hours to find another onesie that looks just like the one that they gave Charlie so the twins could have matching duckie onesies. Thankfully, they were able to find one so they could give them both to Charlie and Vaggie. Lucifer insisted on giving the new one with the old one because of how much sentimental value the onesie had.

“Thank you so much, Mom and Dad! This is the best gift I ever got!” Charlie cried as she ran up to Lucifer and Lilith as best as she could to hug them as tightly as she could.

“You’re welcome, Duckling; I wanted your gift to be the most special gift you could get,” Lucifer explained.

Charlie sat back down in her chair as Lilith gave her and Vaggie the next gift. It was from Ozzie and Bee. They combined their gifts because of how close they were to Charlie compared to the other sins, and they wanted to show that in their gifts. Charlie and Vaggie started opening the gift to see a Baby Bullet and a set of spoons that encouraged independent feeding that also doubled as a teether.

“Thank you so much, Aunt Bee and Uncle Ozzie! Let me guess; this was Aunt Bee’s idea?” Charlie said as she went up to Ozzie and Bee for a hug.

“It was her idea,” Ozzie replied.

“Well, I know Vaggie and I are going to use this Baby Bullet quite a lot.”

“Charlie, you may not think so yet, but this is a big deal!” Bee added.

Charlie laughed and sat back down as Vaggie handed her the next gift, which was from Mammon, Satan, Levithan, and Belphegor. They also decided to combine their gifts because they wanted to make a big gift basket for the babies. Charlie and Vaggie opened the gift together to see a big baby gift basket with several stuffed animals, baby blankets, and other soft baby toys for the twins’ nursery.

Mammon, Satan, Leviathan and Belphegor came up to Charlie to give her a hug so she did not have to get up again. They figured that Charlie was going to get too tired and her knees were going to hurt if she kept standing up to give hugs.

“Thank you so much! I know the girls are going to love these! I think I know who decided on this particular gift basket,” Charlie said.

“Yep, it was me,” Belphegor mentioned as she raised her hand.

The last four sins leaned down again to hug Charlie before Lilith gave her and Vaggie the next gift. It was from the Carmines and Zestial. Vaggie opened the gift to see that they gave them a pack of pacifiers and four pairs of crocheted baby booties. Clara and Odette had a secret knack for crocheting for a while, and they decided to teach Carmilla and Zestial how to crochet some baby booties just for the baby shower. No one else outside of the family knew about their love for crocheting except for Vaggie.

“These are so cute! Thank you so much for this!” Vaggie said as she hugged the Carmines and Zestial.

“We figured your girls would need some booties for the winter,” Clara mentioned.

“So we taught Mom and Zestial to crochet so we could each give you a pair,” Odette added.

“The pacifiers were an extra from Carmilla and me,” Zestial mentioned.

Vaggie smiled as Lucifer handed Charlie the next gift, which was from Rosie. Charlie and Vaggie opened the gift together to see two packs of baby bottles, with each bottle decorated with sequins and jewels. Rosie walked over to Charlie and Vaggie and gave them both a hug.

“Thank you, Rosie! These are so cute! Did you do this yourself?” Charlie asked.

“I did make them, but I got some help from Alastor,” Rosie answered.

“Well, they look amazing; thank you again, Rosie, and thank you, Alastor,” Vaggie said.

Lilith handed Charlie and Vaggie the next gift, which was from Emily, Sir Pentious, and Molly. Charlie and Vaggie opened the gift to see a whole gift basket with teethers, bath towels, stuffed animals, onesies, and various Montessori toys for the girls to play with. The basket was topped off with a mobile with little soft clouds, stars, and lambs at the end of the strings.

“This must have taken forever to put together! This is the sweetest gift anyone could give us, besides my old duckie onesie. Thank you!” Charlie said.

“You’re welcome, Charlie; Molly contributed the stuffed animals, onesies, and towels, and Sir Pentious contributed the teethers and the toys. I found that mobile and I thought it was the cutest thing to top the gift off,” Emily explained.

“I think the girls are going to have so much fun with these toys. Thank you again,” Vaggie added.

Lilith gave Vaggie the next gift, which was from Destino. Vaggie opened the gift to reveal a small music box. Vaggie turned the key to the music box and began to play “Tortuga Concha.” Her mother used to sing that song for her all the time as a baby, and while Destino was not alive to sing it with them, he was still able to sing it with her sisters when they were babies. Vaggie ran up to her father in tears and gave him a hug.

“Gracias, Papi! ¡Éste es el mejor regalo que he recibido jamás!”

“De nada, Magdalena; encontré esto en la tienda de segunda mano e inmediatamente pensé en tus hermanas. Me imaginé que tu madre también te cantaba esta canción.”

Vaggie gave her father another hug and a kiss, still in tears, before Lucifer gave her and Charlie the next gift, which was from Angel and Husk. Angel contributed to two gifts; one with Husk and one with Cherri. Charlie and Vaggie began opening the gift to see that they made them a whole collection of tiny crocheted stuffed animals. There was a deer, a spider, a kitten, and a snake to represent the animal demons that have come and gone to the hotel; Alastor, Angel, Husk, and Sir Pentious. There was also another kitten and a piglet to represent KeeKee and Fat Nuggets, and a duckling to represent Lucifer’s favorite animal in the world. There was also a cow, a puppy, and a bunny to complete their little farm.

“Angel, Husk, this is the cutest set ever. Did you make these?” Charlie asked.

“We did; I even taught Husk to crochet. He did both of the kittens and the deer all by himself. I helped him with the puppy and the snake,” Angel explained.

“This will look so cute on the shelf. They will love sleeping with these when they’re old enough to have stuffed animals in the crib.” Vaggie mentioned.

Charlie and Vaggie gave Angel and Husk a hug before Angel gave them his second gift from him and Cherri. They opened it together to reveal two pink onesies that say “She Did It!” in big, bold letters with arrows pointing inwards. Charlie and Vaggie laughed as they showed the onesies to everyone else. They knew from the getgo that Angel and Cherri were going to get the funny gift for the babies.

“Okay, I need to know whose idea this was,” Charlie said, still laughing.

“It was both of ours; Angel and I were suggesting funny ideas for baby onesies and we both agreed on this one,” Cherri explained.

“And don’t worry, once they outgrow these onesies, we’re gonna get them t-shirts with the same print until they turn eighteen,” Angel added.

Charlie and Vaggie laughed again and hugged Angel and Cherri. “Thank you guys so much; I’m sure we would have as good of a laugh once the twins are born as we did now,” Vaggie said.
“Did you and Molly have shirts like these when you were little?” Charlie asked.

“We did; our mom bought all of them and every other funny t-shirt Molly and I had in our closets as kids. It brought me back to us being kids and letting the sillies out together. Maybe we could have the twins recreate our old photos in these shirts when they’re a little older!”

“We should! That would be so cute!”

Charlie and Vaggie hugged Angel and Cherri again as Niffty gave them her gift. They opened the gift to see two knitted sweaters that say “My Aunt is a Bad Influence” on them and two knitted baby blankets with little ducklings in the corner of them. Charlie and Vaggie laughed again when they saw the sweaters.

“We should’ve known that you were also going to give a funny gift, Niffty,” Vaggie said, still laughing.

“I wanted everyone to know that the twins have a bad influence as an auntie.”

“The blankies are also adorable. Did Dad help you find the duckies for them?” Charlie asked.

“Yep; I wanted to put little ducklings on the blankets, so your dad helped me find old cotton duckies that were used to decorate your old clothes and blankies. I also wanted to embroider names on them, but I know you haven’t thought of baby names just yet. I will probably add their names once they’re revealed.”

“Thank you, Niffty; we will let you know before everyone else so you can finish the blankies. Just don’t tell anyone because we want to reveal the names after they’re born.”

Charlie and Vaggie hugged Niffty once more before Alastor gave them the final gift of the night. They opened it to see two onesies that say “My Uncle is Cooler Than Yours,” and at the bottom of each, in a smaller font and parentheses, it said “Because He’s the Radio Demon.” Charlie and Vaggie laughed again when they saw the onesies.

“Now we have three sets of funny onesies for the twins! Thank you, Alastor,” Charlie said excitedly as she showed everyone the onesies.

“You’re very welcome, my dear. Rosie helped me pick them out when we were shopping for gifts.”

“Did you know anyone else was getting us a funny gift?” Vaggie asked.

“I knew Niffty was making one, I didn’t know about Angel and Cherri’s gift, though.”

“I think our kids are going to grow up to be the class clowns. They have all these influences,” Charlie said to Vaggie.

“Look, as long as they don’t get into too much trouble once they start school, I’m fine with that,” Vaggie replied.

“So am I. That just means our kids would make us laugh and smile everyday.”

Lucifer and Lilith came back up next to the chairs and Vaggie stood back up. “Thank you, everyone, for all the gifts. Charlie and Vaggie loved each and every one of them!” Lucifer announced.

“Gracias a todas por todos los regalos. ¡Charlie y yo amamos a todas y cada una de ellas!”

“We have dinner catered for everyone. We’re also going to have cake very soon,” Lilith added.

“Tenemos cena preparada para todos. También tendremos pastel muy pronto.”

“But before we start dinner, we need pictures of everyone with their gifts,” Lucifer continued.

“Pero antes de empezar a cenar, necesitamos fotos de todos con sus regalos.”

Everyone got up to gather near Charlie and Vaggie for several pictures. The sessions lasted for quite a while, with each group doing their own photo with their gifts before doing several large group photos with everyone. After several fun and silly pictures with everyone to remember the baby shower by, everyone went over to the bar to begin serving themselves. Since Charlie was still feeling a little bit nauseous, she figured it would be safe to not serve herself. Vaggie came back with her plate and gave her one dinner roll, since bland carbs were one of the only things that would not make Charlie throw up at the moment. Angel, Husk, Cherri Bomb, Molly, Sir Pentious, and Emily sat with them.

“We’re so happy you liked all your presents! I wouldn’t have realized you would have gotten so many funny onesies!” Emily said before taking a bite of her food.

“The second I saw those onesies from you two, Tony and Cherri, I was about to cry. I was immediately taken back to when Tony and I were kids in those t-shirts that ma bought for us,” Molly added.

“That was somewhat the point. I was hoping those onesies would bring back fond memories for you,” Angel replied as he and Molly side hugged with one arm each.

“We will have to send you pictures of the twins in those onesies after they’re born,” Vaggie mentioned.

“You have to! And send us as many videos as you can! I wanna see the kids’ first everything!”

“Don’t worry, Molly; we will, and we’ll also send them to you both too, Emily and Sir Pentious,” Charlie replied.

Meanwhile, on another side of the lobby, Lucifer, Lilith, Rosie, Carmilla, Zestial, Destino, and Alastor talked about how excited they were for Charlie and Vaggie. Carmilla offered to translate for Destino while Vaggie was talking with everyone else.

“You three should be very lucky to soon have two beautiful granddaughters. If they do end up becoming the class clowns, they have a lot of influences that Charlie and Vaggie could blame for how they become that way,” Rosie explained.

“Well, given that Charlie was not too much trouble at school when she was little and every day in our house was nothing but goofing around, I’m sure the twins will be fine as long as they understand right from wrong,” Lucifer replied.

“Nuestras nietas serán criadas por las mejores madres del Pride Ring,” Destino mentioned.

“He said that their granddaughters are going to be raised by the best mothers in the Pride Ring,” Carmilla translated.

“Hey, Alastor, what gave you the idea for that onesie in the first place?” Lilith asked.

“Rosie and I were discussing our ideas before we went shopping together. I added the last part to them and Rosie helped,” Alastor explained.

“Alastor needed the onesie to stand out, so we put the last part at the bottom of each onesie. It was the cutest idea that we had to do!” Rosie mentioned.

Lilith, Rosie, and Carmilla cackled together and the men laughed along once the women started. Their laughter filled the rest of the lobby with laughter, while Charlie, Vaggie, Clara, and Odette tried so hard to sulk away in embarrassment while also holding in a laugh. It did matter if they were surrounded by friends and family, or by complete strangers. Lilith, Rosie, and Carmilla will always embarrass Charlie, Vaggie, Clara, and Odette simply by laughing their infectious laughs together.

Everyone continued talking and eating for about an hour until it was time for Lucifer and Lilith to roll out the cake. They invited Destino to help them slice the first two pieces to give them to Charlie and Vaggie. The twins were also going to be Destino’s granddaughters too, after all. After Charlie and Vaggie got their first slices, everyone else came up in a line to serve themselves cake.

Everyone sat together one more time to enjoy the cake that Lucifer, Lilith, and Niffty all made together, a red velvet cake with chocolate icing and a raspberry filling, and continued talking about all the amazing things Charlie and Vaggie will be able to do once the babies are born. Charlie and Vaggie sat on the couch together as the rest of the hotel’s crew, Emily, Sir Pentious, and Molly sat with them.

“Lucifer! This is the best cake you and Lilith made in such a long time! What’s your secret?” Carmilla asked.

“This was actually Queen Bee’s recipe. She has all the best cake recipes, so we ask her for her cake recipes for every event. And since Charlie has been craving the chocolate with the raspberry filling recently, we asked her for this specific recipe.”

“I have every cake recipe you could imagine. If you want, I can come by from the Gluttony Ring and bring all my cakes for sinners to try.”

“That sounds great! I would love to try your cake recipes, and maybe you could give us some of them?” Rosie replied.

“Sure! I can actually give you some copies now.”

After talking for another hour and Bee giving everyone the link to her cake recipes, it was time for everyone to go. Everyone gave Charlie and Vaggie the biggest hug they could before each group made their way out of the hotel one by one. Once everyone left, Charlie plopped down on the couch and closed her eyes, the lobby still littered with wrapping paper as the rest of the crew cleaned up the mess.

“We should let Charlie sleep. Today was filled with so many presents and friends that she’s probably overwhelmed,” Vaggie mentioned.

And let her sleep, they did. The rest of the hotel pitched in to clean the wrapping paper and the catering supplies for the rest of the night without disturbing Charlie. Carrying a set of twin girls while interacting with so many friends and family members was enough of a job for her that she needed this rest more than anything.

The third trimester turned into a double Hell for the hotel. Charlie went into demon mode more times a day than anyone could count on either hand. Angel even started a scoreboard of how many times Charlie went into demon mode in one day and compared them to see which days were worse. So far, everyday has been worse than the last.

It got to a point where the hotel crew was counting the days until the babies’ due date. The third trimester has ended up becoming the slowest of them all because of how much time Charlie has been taking up. Niffty had to replace her chocolate stash at least twice a day because Charlie was scarfing them down like her life depended on it. She has been having so many emotional mood swings that she had several mental breakdowns about the possibility of the babies getting hurt, or worse, not making it. Vaggie, Lucifer, and Lilith did everything in their power to ensure that nothing was going to happen to the babies.

It was getting closer to the babies’ due date, and Charlie was on her bed as Vaggie, Alastor, and Angel Dust were next to her, doing everything in their power to comfort her. It was not long until Charlie’s hormones went into overdrive after Alastor coughed.

“WHAT THE FUCK, ALASTOR!?” Charlie yelled as she went into full demon-mode.

“...I just coughed, though…”

“Okay, well, it threw off my breathing exercise, which is going to raise my blood pressure, which will affect the twins’ development, AND THEY’LL PROBABLY GROW UP TO BECOME SERIAL KILLERS, JUST LIKE YOU, SO I HOPE YOU’RE FUCKING HAPPY!”

Charlie wrapped her right arm around Alastor’s neck and squeezed it so hard, Alastor was beginning to turn blue. Vaggie and Angel looked at each other and backed away, thinking either one of them would be next. Charlie opened her side table drawer to see that her chocolate stash was completely empty. There was nothing but crumpled up wrappers in the drawer.

“WHERE’S DAD!? I NEED MORE CHOCOLATE!”

Charlie let go of Alastor’s neck and he started breathing heavily. Vaggie walked back up to her wife to tell her where Lucifer went.

“He’s at the store with Niffty right now to get more chocolate. I’m sure he should be back for another… twenty minutes, maybe?”

That was enough for Charlie to scream and cry so loud that even Husk could hear her at the bar. The noise caused Alastor to static up.

“TWENTY MINUTES!? I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE CHOCOLATE FOR TWO FUCKING HOURS!”

“You… gulfed down the entire stash within three minutes this morning… I don’t know what else we can do for you right now,” Angel whimpered.

After another five minutes of one of the worst meltdowns during Charlie’s whole pregnancy, she noticed a strange liquid between her legs. She, Vaggie, Alastor, and Angel looked down to see that she completely soaked her pants and her bed. Her water broke! They needed to rush to a nearby hospital as quickly as they could before Charlie could cause any more damage to her friends or the hotel.

Vaggie carried Charlie downstairs firefighter-style as Alastor and Angel looked throughout the lobby for a wheelchair. Husk and Cherri Bomb noticed their franticness and needed some answers.

“Um… is there something wrong?” Husk asked.

“Charlie’s water just broke! We need to find a wheelchair and take her to the hospital right now!” Angel screamed in urgency.

“There’s a wheelchair in the utility closet. I’ll get it for you!”

“I’ll call Lucifer! We need to head to the hospital right now!”

Husk got the wheelchair out of the utility closet and Vaggie sat Charlie in it. She got her phone out as everyone ran down the Pride Ring to get to the nearest hospital and dialed Lucifer’s number to let him know what was going on.

As Lucifer, Lilith, and Niffty were coming out of the store with all the chocolate they could, Lucifer’s phone vibrated to see Vaggie was calling him. He thought she was wondering when he was coming home with the chocolate.

“We’ll be home soon. We just got the Uber so we’ll be home in two minutes,” Lucifer answered, not knowing what was coming.

“Thank you for picking up more chocolate, Lucifer, but this is more urgent. Charlie’s water broke! We’re about to go to the hospital right now!”

Lucifer’s face went blue and Lilith grabbed the phone from him to continue the conversation. “We’ll tell the Uber driver to take us to the closest hospital to the hotel.”

“Thank you so much. Husk found a wheelchair for Charlie and we’re wheeling her there as we speak.”

“Perfect! We’ll be there in two minutes.”

“Awesome; we’ll see you there.”

Once Lilith and Vaggie hung up, Lilith tapped on the Uber driver’s chair to get his attention. “We have a change in destination. Take us to the New Life Medical Center! It’s an emergency!”

“Are you sure, Your Majesty?” the Uber driver asked.

“My daughter is about to give birth! JUST DRIVE!”

The Uber driver did not ask any more questions and just put the new address into his GPS. They drove down the road to the New Life Medical Center, which was only a block away from the hotel, and once they arrived, they saw everyone else by the front door to make their way to registration.

“There you are! Charlie has been in the worst mood all day. We need as much support as we can to make sure her birth runs smoothly,” Vaggie explained.

“Don’t worry; we will be right there by her side to support her during this… if Lucifer doesn’t faint again,” Lilith mentioned, still carrying Lucifer on her shoulder.

Once the crew got to the registration desk, the receptionist saw everyone with a wheelchair bound Charlie, only hours away from meeting her babies, eyes widening with shock to see the Princess of Hell and her friends and family all at the same time to see the miracle happen in real time.

“Do you have a room available? The royal family of Hell is about to have two new members and we need a room right now!” Vaggie yelled with urgency.

“The closest room we have available at the moment is on the second floor. We can wheel her up right now, but we're only allowed one guest in her room for support during the birthing process until eight o’clock, when visitation hours end. We cannot have multiple visitors until after the baby is born. We understand that this is a royal baby, but visitation hours still apply,” the receptionist explained as she registered Charlie.

“Thank you, I'll go with her. She needs a lot of support, so it's best if I stay with her.”

“We'll get a nurse right away to pick you and her up.”

The crew sighed in relief as they all sat down in the waiting room chairs together. Lilith, still holding a passed-out Lucifer, held Vaggie’s hand and sat down with her.

“Are you sure you want to be the one to support her? I know that she's been very… agitated for the last couple of weeks, it's been a lot for you.”

“Don't worry, Lilith, I've been by her side during these last nine months, and these are my children too. I've been taking this like a champ, and I know she would want me to be there when the babies are born so I can hold them for the first time with her. Plus, I'm sure Lucifer needs you more than Charlie does at the moment.”

Lilith squeezed her daughter-in-law’s hand in support and hugged her. “I know Charlie will be in good hands either way. Let us know when the babies are born.”

“I will; don't worry.”

It was only a matter of time until the nurse came into the waiting room to wheel Charlie, still crying in pain, to her room with Vaggie to support her. Vaggie held Charlie's hand on the way up to her room as the rest of the crew headed out of the hospital and back to the hotel in relief. Now that Charlie was in a safe area to give birth, they could all go to sleep knowing that she's in good hands. While the birthing process still worried them, they knew that they were going to have two new healthy babies in the hotel soon.

Twenty hours have passed since checking into the hospital for Charlie to birth her two new beautiful babies. Vaggie made it a priority to wake up early so she could visit Charlie as much as she could during visitation hours. She offered to hold her wife’s hand as the nurses continued to support her during the birth. Charlie squeezed her wife’s hand with every contraction, each worse than the last. However, Vaggie still thought to herself that this will be over before they know it and she and Charlie will be holding their little girls in less than twenty-four hours.

After what felt like the longest day of their lives, Charlie felt the last of her second baby come out of her, hearing two little cries of newborns as the nurses cut her second and final umbilical cord. Charlie’s demon features began to subside as she heard the cries of her babies and the nurses held them for her and Vaggie to see. They could not believe it! They were mothers now! They now have two beautiful daughters, two new members of the Hazbin Hotel family! Charlie and Vaggie could not help but cry tears of joy and hug each other at the sight of their daughters. Vaggie needed to call Lucifer right away and let everyone else know that the babies are here and they and Charlie are fine and healthy.

Once the nurses took the babies to clean them, Vaggie left the room and waited outside the door to call Lucifer about the big news. This would also allow some time for Charlie to take a rest after seventeen grueling hours of labor. She dialed Lucifer’s phone number, and almost immediately, he answered.

“Vaggie! How’s Charlie doing? I hope she’s okay!”

“She’s fine, she’s healthy, and so are the babies. They’re finally here!” Vaggie waited for a response, but there was nothing. “...Hello? Lucifer…?”

Lilith picked the phone up from the floor to continue the call. “Sorry about that, Vaggie; he fainted again. What were you saying?”

“I was saying that the babies are here! The nurses just showed us the babies a couple minutes ago and now they are just cleaning them. We’ll ask them if everyone can come tomorrow morning to meet them. We also decided to announce the names of the babies when you’re here. Just… make sure Lucifer isn’t going to faint again. We can’t have this every time something happens.”

“Don’t worry, Vaggie; he’ll be fine. This happened when I was pregnant with Charlie. He fainted when my water broke and when Charlie was born, but when he got to hold her for the first time, he just cried.”

“Thank you for the information, Lilith; I’m sure he’ll be fine too. Just make sure he is fully awake before you leave the hospital.”

Vaggie and Lilith hung up their phones and Vaggie went back in the room to hold Charlie’s hand to let all her emotions out. This was one of the most emotional moments for the both of them. Seeing Charlie cry made Vaggie want to cry too. The nurses came into the room a couple minutes later with the babies swaddled in little white blankets, each wearing light-pink hospital hats with big bows on the front. The first nurse gently handed one baby to Charlie, and the other nurse gently handed the other baby to Vaggie. The couple looked at their babies together to see them asleep in their blankets. One had skin as pale as Charlie's, and the other as grey as Vaggie's. Both girls had rosy red cheeks, just like Charlie, and hooked noses, just like Vaggie. Their hair was a beautiful sunshine blonde, and when they opened their eyes, their irises were a bright yellow with pink scleras. They were the perfect combination of both mothers. Near the corner of their foreheads they each had a little light pink, heart-shaped birthmark, that looked just like the one Angel Dust has on the back of his head. They wanted at least one of Angel’s features on the twins as a way to say thank you.

The babies opened their eyes to see their mothers for the first time, and smiled. Charlie cried again to see her daughter's smiling at her and Vaggie. She tried to keep her emotions as quiet as she possibly could so she did not wake the babies. Vaggie looked at her wife and could not help but cry too. She did remember what Lilith said about Lucifer getting super emotional when Charlie was born. Like father, like daughter, I guess.

“Hi!, my little ducklings! We’re your mommies! We’re so excited to bring you home!” Charlie whispered.

Charlie and Vaggie put their foreheads against their babies, closed their eyes, and smiled again. They could not believe that this day has finally come after nine long months of Charlie suffering with the babies inside her.

“Your mother was telling me how your father got super emotional when you were born. I was not surprised when I saw this,” Vaggie whispered.

“Wait until we tell them the babies’ names. That would make him a crying mess.”

Vaggie nodded in agreement and gently gave the other baby to Charlie. Vaggie left the hospital room so she could call Lucifer and Lilith about the great news! She knew that everyone was going to be screaming their heads off when she made the announcement, so it was best that she did not make the call in the same room as the babies. She dialed Lilith's number to see if she would answer.

“Hello?” Lilith answered after she picked up the phone.

“Lilith? Put your phone on speaker! I need everyone to be near the phone so I can tell everyone the news!”

Lilith put her phone on speaker and asked everyone at the hotel to come to the couch with her to listen to Vaggie’s message. “Okay, everyone’s here, what is it you want to tell us?”

“Charlie just had the babies a couple hours ago!”

The crew on the other end squealed with excitement as loudly as they could that Vaggie had to move to the other side of the hallway in fear of the babies waking up and crying. The crew was at the hotel hugging and tackling each other for quite some time until Vaggie heard the excitement subside.

“Will we be able to come by this week to see them?”

“Of course; I’ll ask the nurses when everyone can come by to visit.”

“Will you also be telling us the names of the babies?”

“We will, and I’m sure you and Lucifer will be emotional messes when we announce the baby names.”

Lilith looked at Lucifer, already sobbing with excitement with his face puffy and red. “Don’t worry; I’ll make sure Lucifer doesn’t get too emotional when we get there.”

“Thank you; I’ll let you know when you will be able to visit us when I get home tonight.”

Vaggie and Lilith hung up their phones and she went back into Charlie’s hospital room to see her still holding their babies. Vaggie slowly walked to Charlie’s bedside and sat on the edge to see them again. Both girls were still at awe of how much of a perfect balance both girls were of them.

“I just got off the phone with your mom. She said everyone is planning on coming down sometime this week to visit and meet the babies.”

Charlie smiled and wanted to hug Vaggie right then and there, but her hands were so full with two little bundles of sunshine that she could not reach her arms out.

“I’ll give you a hug before you leave and after the nurses take the babies back. I can’t wait for everyone to meet them! They are going to be so in awe of these little girls, and they’re going to be surrounded with so much love.”

Vaggie held and squeezed Charlie’s hand that was still cupped around one of the babies. They kissed each other on the lips before the nurses came back in to check up on Charlie and the babies.

“We’re just about to put the babies back in the nursery for the night. Congratulations again, Ms. Morningstar,” the first nurse whispered as Charlie and Vaggie helped the second nurse collect the babies.

“Thank you; we may have a lot of visitors later this week,” Charlie confirmed.

“They will just have to call the hospital to confirm visitation, like you have for the last day,” the second nurse reminded them.

“I’ll let them know when I get home. I’m going to be on my way home soon anyway,” Vaggie replied.

Once the nurses left the room with the babies, Charlie and Vaggie hugged one more time for Vaggie to leave for the night.

“Vaggie, I also want to let you know that I’m so happy this pregnancy is over, and I’m so sorry I was a complete nightmare these last few months. Maybe I should have agreed to have you carry the babies.”

“It’s okay, Charlie; I’m actually happy you got to carry the babies. I don’t think the pregnancy would have been smooth sailing for me either.”

The girls laughed before hugging one more time and kissing before Vaggie left the hospital for the night. Charlie and Vaggie smiled one more time in their separate ways because they could not wait to see the looks on everyone else’s faces once they met the babies for the first time and revealed the names.

Several days have passed, and Charlie was starting to feel more like herself after one hell of a pregnancy. She was beginning to feel healthier and happier, and she was filled with more joy than she would ever be because today was the day the entire crew at the hotel was going to come by to meet the babies! Vaggie planned on everyone to bring lots of warm welcoming gifts so Charlie feels more congratulated than she would have ever felt.

The nurses came into Charlie’s room and wheeled the babies in, still sleeping, and already freshly fed and changed. The nurses gently handed Charlie both babies after she cupped her arms on her support pillows so their heads were fully supported.

“We confirmed with your family that they will be visiting today at two o’clock,” the first nurse reminded Charlie.

“We will let you know when they arrive, and we will bring them in,” the second nurse added.

“Thank you; I know they’re going to be filled with so much awe when they meet the babies today,” Charlie replied.

The nurses left Charlie with the babies so she could bond with them for more time before the rest of the hotel crew came by. Vaggie was the first to arrive about an hour before the nurses said the rest of the crew was coming by. She gave Charlie a kiss on the lips and sat next to her on her bed to hold one of the babies. The babies opened their eyes to see their mommies looking at them.

“Are you sure dad isn’t going to faint when he sees the babies for the first time?” Charlie whispered before she gave the baby she was holding a small peck on the forehead.

“Don’t worry; when I was on the phone with your mom a couple days ago when the babies were born, she said the worst that happened when you were born was that he got super emotional. I don’t think he’s going to faint this time,” Vaggie replied.

Charlie shrugged in agreement and Vaggie moved closer to Charlie with the baby she was holding. They spent the next hour talking to the babies together and bonding with them until they heard a knock at the room’s door. Charlie and Vaggie’s ears perked up when they heard the knock and realized that everyone must be here! The nurses opened the door and Lucifer and Lilith were the first one to come into the room. Alastor, Angel Dust, Husk, Niffty, and Cherri Bomb followed them in with balloons and flowers to see Charlie and Vaggie holding the babies and they all opened their mouths in awe and excitement, aweing, cooing, and crying over the sight of the babies as they crowded around Charlie and Vaggie. Lucifer held Lilith to hide his tears, but Lilith removed him so Charlie and Vaggie could see what a crying mess he was.

“I told you he was going to be super emotional,” Vaggie whispered in Charlie’s ear. Charlie giggled and leaned back on Vaggie’s shoulder.

“So, Vaggie said you were going to reveal the names of the babies. What are their names?” Husk asked as he sat at the bedside.

Charlie and Vaggie looked at each other, then at Lucifer and Lilith. “We decided that the girls needed to have family names, so we decided to name them after not only after their grandparents, but also after a few great-uncles that I know Dad misses a lot.”

Lucifer and Lilith looked at each other, then back at Charlie and Vaggie. “What do you mean, Char?” Lilith asked.

“Well, Mom, Dad, everyone, meet Lucille Michelle Morningstar,” Charlie started as she leaned over for everyone to see the paler twin.

Lucifer froze when Charlie announced the first name. She named one of her daughters after him, AND derived her middle name from his brother in Heaven, Michael? He knew that Charlie wanted to give the girls family names, but the fact that one of her daughters was named after him was the biggest blessing he could ever have.

“And I also want you to meet Lillian Gabrielle Morningstar,” Vaggie added as she leaned over for everyone to see the greyer twin.

Lilith joined her husband as her face turned red. The husband and wife looked at each other, then went on both sides of the bed to hug their daughter and daughter-in-law. Charlie and Vaggie looked at each other, and decided to let Lucifer and Lilith hold the babies. Charlie handed Lucifer Lucille, and Vaggie handed Lilith Lillian. They sat at the bedside as Lucille and Lillian opened their eyes to see their grandparents holding them. They looked at them and smiled. Charlie and Vaggie awed to see their little girls admiring their grandparents as Lucifer and Lilith cried some more.

The rest of the crew rotated to hold each baby one at a time, with everyone bonding with the babies in different ways. Alastor gently dangled a little ring of plastic keys he got for the babies to teeth on when that part of development came. Angel and Cherri made small, silly faces to try to get the babies to giggle. Husk put his free finger near the twins’ mouths and they would suck at the tip. He had to move his hand away before it became a choking hazard. Niffty played a little game of peek-a-boo, using her free hand to hide her face in Charlie’s blanket. Lucifer and Lilith hummed a lullaby they wrote together when Lilith was pregnant with Charlie and they sang to her when she was a baby. The ways everyone was bonding with the twins was enough for Charlie and Vaggie to cry tears of joy.

Once everyone had their chance holding both babies, Vaggie dialed Destino’s number to video chat with him to meet the babies. Angel did the same thing with Molly, Cherri with Sir Pentious, and Charlie with Emily. Emily was the first one to pick up her phone, then Sir Pentious, then Molly, then Destino. Charlie and Vaggie gave their phones to Lucifer and Lilith so they could show them the babies.

“Hi, everyone!” Sir Pentious said when Cherri held her phone up for him to see everyone, and Angel did the same thing for Molly.

“Hi, guys, we just wanted to let you know that the babies are born!” Charlie whispered.

“¡Sólo queríamos informarle que los bebés nacieron!” Vaggie translated for Destino.

Emily, Sir Pentious, Molly, and Destino wanted to squeal at that moment, but they knew they were in a hospital, so they did not want to wake up the babies. Charlie held up Lucille to the cameras in a way where she would not hurt her.

“I want you to meet Lucille Michelle Morningstar.”

“Quiero que conozcas a Lucille Michelle Morningstar.”

Vaggie, who was still sitting next to Charlie in her bed, held Lillian up in the same way so she would not hurt her.

“Y me gustaría que conocierais a Lillian Gabrielle Morningstar.”

“And I would like you to meet Lillian Gabrielle Morningstar.”

The Heaven crew could not help but fawn over the sight of the babies. Destino began to cry tears of joy when he saw his two new granddaughters, resting soundly in his daughter and daughter-in-law’s arms.

“They’re adorable; they both look like a healthy mix of the both of you,” Molly pointed out.

“That’s not even the best part. Angel, come closer so I can show you and Molly something that would make you cry just as much as our dads did,” Charlie added. Angel moved himself and his phone closer to Charlie and Vaggie as they showed him and Molly the heart-shaped birthmark that was on the side of their foreheads. The spider twins’ eyes widened at the sight of the birthmarks before Angel hugged Charlie and Vaggie.

“Okay Angel, be careful! We’re still holding the babies!” Vaggie pointed out when she and Charlie realized how tightly Angel was hugging them.

“Sorry, girls; I’m just too happy at the fact that you decided to give them my birthmark.”

“It was our way of saying thank you for being our sperm donor. We wanted something of yours for the babies,” Charlie replied.

“Thank you so much for calling us to let us know the babies are here,” Sir Pentious thanked.

“You’re welcome, everyone. We’ll call as much as we can to show you the milestones the girls are going to reach.”

“Well, we should all let you recover. I know you still have a couple of days before coming back to the hotel with the babies. Thank you for calling!” Emily said.

Everyone bid their final goodbyes to the Heaven crew before everyone hung up their phones. The crew gave Charlie and Vaggie another gentle hug and kiss before making their way back to the hotel. Vaggie wanted to stay for a little bit longer just to make sure Charlie and her babies were well.

“Are you going to be okay for the next couple of days?” Vaggie asked as she kissed her wife on the cheek.

“I’ll be fine. I’m also sure Luci and Lilli will be fine too. I still can’t believe that in a couple of days, they’re going to be at the hotel with us! Are you excited?”

“I’m more than excited, Char. I’ve been working so hard on building the nursery with your parents for the last few weeks that we’re super excited to show it to you. We expanded our room to fit the nursery in there so we don’t have to worry about walking across the hall if the girls need something in the middle of the night. We’ll have everything right there for them.”

Charlie and Vaggie kissed one more time on the lips before the nurses came back in to collect the babies and put them back in their nursery. Vaggie looked at her clock and noticed how late it was getting. She gave Charlie one more kiss on the lips before leaving the room and going back to the hotel.

As Charlie sat alone in her room once more, she could not help but think about all the amazing adventures she, Vaggie, and the rest of the hotel were going to have raising Lucille and Lillian while also running the hotel. Was it going to be hard work? Of course; she never denied that. But, with the amount of support she has, she knows the twins will be in good hands.

Chapter Text

The day finally came; Charlie was going to come home with the twins! Vaggie, Lucifer, and Lilith prepared a little celebration for her and the twins when they entered the door. They decided to celebrate by ordering pizza for everyone, since it had been such a long time since Charlie could eat anything without throwing up afterwards. Lucifer and Lilith also brought down a big crate of VHS tapes for the crew to watch together. Vaggie looked through the tapes to see that they were all Charlie’s home movies from when she was a baby.

“We did mention at the baby shower that we would watch them after Charlie and the twins come home,” Lucifer mentioned.

“So we kept that promise,” Lilith added.

“Are you sure it’s not going to embarrass her too much?” Vaggie asked.

“We’re sure she’ll be fine. Most of these are super cute, and we think you all are going to think so too.”

Once everyone else got downstairs, Charlie knocked on the door and Vaggie and Lucifer answered to see Charlie with Lucille and Lillian asleep in portable bassinets. Everyone ran up to Charlie and hugged her when she put the twins down and sat her on the couch. Angel Dust and Husk grabbed the bassinets and put them on each side of Charlie, and Vaggie sat next to her, put her arm around her, and leaned on her shoulder to snuggle with her. Charlie put her arm around Vaggie and leaned her head near her. Lucifer and Lilith sat near the girls and put their hands on their laps.

“We just ordered pizza for everyone to celebrate the babies coming home,” Lucifer started.

“And Lucifer and I found all our old home movies from when you were a baby, so we’re going to watch them when the pizza gets here,” Lilith continued.

Charlie looked at the crate of VHS tapes and hugged her parents before the rest of the crew sat down on the couch with her. Before Lucifer could take out the first tape to put in the Video Cassette Recorder, there was a knock on the door. The pizza was finally here! Lilith answered the door to retrieve the pizza and put it down on the coffee table. Everyone grabbed a slice and put them on their plates before Lucifer took out the first tape and put it in the VCR.

It took a minute for the tape to warm up before the screen showed Lilith wearing a hospital gown in a wheelchair, with Lucifer rolling her while holding the video camera. The video was recorded only hours before Charlie was born. Lucifer and Lilith moved closer to Charlie as they watched the video cut to Lilith in her hospital bed, ready, but nervous, to birth the baby princess, as Lucifer was jokingly using the unplugged anesthetic gas mask to try to cheer her up and make her laugh.

“I’m at least happy to see Lucifer hasn’t changed,” Lilith pointed out as she and the rest of the hotel started laughing.

“I just kind of wish I could find a way to cheer you up at the hospital,” Vaggie mentioned as she put her hand on Charlie’s lap.

“Vaggie, you cheered me up just by being there for me. I don’t think anyone would have cheered me up more than you.”

Everyone looked back at the video to see that it cut to the nurse holding a newborn Charlie in her arms as she cried. Adult Charlie cried when she saw her as a newborn baby in her mother’s arms. On the video, Lucifer moved the camera closer towards Charlie to get a closer look at her. Baby Charlie opened her eyes to see her father hovering over her, and smiled at him. Sniffling and crying could be heard on the tape, which was obviously Lucifer trying to keep it together. Charlie and her parents cried after hearing Lucifer cry in the tape.

“I'll never forget the day you came home girls from the hospital. Charlie, you were in that cute little duckie onesie that was given to us at our baby shower. Your mother had to take a while to convince me to give you to her so she could feed you, but I didn't want to let you go,” Lucifer explained.

Charlie and Vaggie giggled before the tape cut to Asmodeus and Beelzebub sitting together with Bee holding Charlie.

“This is my favorite part! I asked Ozzie and Bee to pick out the name and they discussed some names with the other sins before agreeing to one!”

Lucifer shushed everyone before everyone listened to the video. “Did you decide on a name?” Lucifer asked in the video from behind the camera.

Ozzie and Bee nodded before looking at each other and saying simultaneously, “Charlotte Alexandra Morningstar.”

Everyone hugged Charlie once they heard the name announcement on the video. They knew the sins had a part in naming her, but they had no idea that they were going to announce the name on video.

“Do you remember how they got to the name Charlotte?” Vaggie asked.

“It was such a long time ago, but what I do remember is that Charlotte is a popular name for many royals, and her middle name, Alexandra, came from Alexander the Great,” Lucifer explained.

“So there was a lot of history to her name,” Angel confirmed.

“There was, and of course, she started responding more to Charlie, so we just stuck with calling her Charlie since she was a baby,” Lilith mentioned.

“Shh! Here’s the part when Lilith comes home with Charlie!” Lucifer said excitedly.

Everyone stops talking and continues to eat their pizza as the video cuts to Lilith walking into the door, holding a banister with a newborn Charlie sleeping. She put the banister down as the camera panned to Charlie sleeping in the banister.

“Charlie… Charlie… wake up. This is your new house!” Lilith in the video whispered as baby Charlie opened her eyes. Baby Charlie smiled to see that she was not in the hospital room anymore.

Lucille and Lillian opened their eyes right after baby Charlie did in the video. They were also realizing that they were not in the hospital anymore. Everyone looked at the twins as they opened their eyes right after baby Charlie did and awed. Just by that moment alone, they guessed they were going to have a lot more of Charlie’s personality traits than Vaggie’s. Charlie and Vaggie looked at each other before looking at the twins again.

“The twins are already becoming just like you,” Vaggie mentioned.

“I’m sure they’re going to get plenty of traits from you too,” Charlie replied.

In the video, Lilith took Charlie out the banister to hold her. The camera panned away as baby Charlie fell asleep again in Lilith’s arms. Lucifer wanted to cherish his two favorite girls on camera a little bit more.

“Lucifer! You need to get another close-up of this beautiful face!” Lilith said as Lucifer panned the camera onto her face. “Not me, the baby!” Lilith rolled her eyes on the video and she and Lucifer laughed before he panned the camera back at Charlie. Everyone else laughed at the moment in the video too.

“There was always a moment for Dad to be silly!” Charlie mentioned.

“I couldn’t help it! She didn’t specify if it was her or you. Both of you have such beautiful faces.” Lucifer cupped his wife and his daughter’s faces with one hand on each.

“You knew what I meant, you just wanted to mess around some more.”

The rest of the hotel laughed along with Lucifer and Lilith before the video showed Lucifer putting the camera on the mantle to get in the shot so he could get on video with baby Charlie too. Lucifer and Lilith kissed in the video as Lucifer leaned his head near Charlie, giving her a kiss on the forehead. He then kissed Lilith on the cheek.

“I cannot believe I’ve been blessed with the two most beautiful women anyone could ask for,” Lucifer started in the video. “I would not have imagined that being banished to Hell would come with such an amazing reward.”

Lucifer and Lilith kissed again in the video. “I know I’m the luckiest woman in Hell because not only do I have the best husband in the world, but I also have the most beautiful daughter anyone could ask for.”

“She’s going to have such a bright future ahead of her. She will be one of the kindest souls Hell has ever seen.”

Lucifer and Lilith looked down at baby Charlie and began to sing “More Than Anything” to her. Charlie started crying as she heard her parents sing the song that was sung to her every night since she was a baby, and once she and Lucifer made up. Vaggie noticed and gave her a hug and leaned on her shoulder.

“I had no idea that song started out as a lullaby from when you were a baby,” Vaggie pointed out.

“We had such a long history with that song. That’s why when Dad and I sang it again when we made up, I cherished that moment forever.”

Once Lucifer and Lilith were finished singing, the tape cut out. That was all the footage they had from Charlie’s first moments. Lucifer looked in the crate to find another video, and found one from Charlie’s first time bathing in the tub. Once Lucifer put the tape in the VCR, the tape cut to Charlie when she was about two months old, sitting in her baby seat in the tub as Lucifer began to draw the water. Charlie looked around the bathtub and started to splash the water when it began to rise. She smiled and giggled, and continued splashing and kicking around when the water rose to her and started to get wet.

“I know you still love the water to this day,” Angel pointed out.

“That is true; I still beg Vaggie to go swimming when we go to the beach every summer,” Charlie added.

Everyone continued to watch the video to see Lucifer give Charlie a rubber duckie from his separate collection. Lucifer always had two separate collections of rubber duckies; one of duckies that he made by hand that no one is allowed to touch, and one made for playtime activities or bathtime. Lucifer put the duck in the water and Charlie looked at it, confused at first. Then she tried grabbing the duck with her little hands and splashing around the water again as she was doing so. Lucifer picked up the duck from the water and handed it to Charlie to let her try to hold it. She held the duck with both of her hands and smiled when she squeezed it. Once the duck squeaked, baby Charlie jumped and dropped the duck. She looked at the duck, then back at Lucifer and Lilith, who was videotaping. They both laughed behind the camera once Charlie looked at them.

“That was the first time she realized rubber duckies squeak when squeezing them. I never really gave her any of my rubber duckies prior to that point,” Lucifer explained.

“It still fascinated me that I wanted to play with all of your duckies after that, and got so excited when you gave me one of your duckies,” Charlie replied.

Back on the video, Charlie tried grabbing the rubber duckie again as Lucifer gently scrubbed her with a washcloth. She wanted to hold the duckie so much, but it kept slipping out of her hand because of how wet it was mixed with her underdeveloped fine motor skills. As Lucifer continued cleaning baby Charlie, he started to sing the “Rubber Duckie” song to her. Lucifer used to always sing that song to her in the bath until she was old enough to start bathing herself. She still hummed it sometimes in the shower, which made her think of Lucifer.

“Wasn’t that the song I would hear you hum in the shower most of the time?” Vaggie asked.

“Yep; and I’m keeping that tradition with the twins. You still have that second duckie collection, dad?”

“I still do; I never got rid of it. I figured that since you have been talking about wanting to raise children of your own one day, I saved them for you, and I will still save them when the twins decide to have their own kids one day.”

“Well, those ducks are going to be used for generations to come. When the twins get older, I’ll tell them about why they were so important and make sure they save them too for their own children, and keep the tradition going.”

Charlie, Lucifer, and Lilith hugged each other before watching the video again. The clip then showed Lucifer gently pouring a pitcher of water on Charlie’s head and she began coughing a little bit when the water dripped down her face and her body, then giggled after it was over. Baby Charlie smiled and flailed her arms and kicked her legs around on her baby tub to show Lucifer that he wanted him to do it again. Lucifer gently poured another pitcher of water on baby Charlie. She coughed, then giggled again. Everyone laughed to see baby Charlie react to the water pouring on her.

“This video was also probably my first sensory experience that I truly loved.”

“That does explain it a lot more,” Alastor added.

The video ended with Lucifer taking baby Charlie out of the tub with a towel that he wrapped around her. He held her and gave her a kiss on the cheek while drying her before the video cut out again. Lucifer rummaged through the video crate to find a videotape that says “CHARLIE MORNINGSTAR, AGE 1.” Everyone, but Vaggie and Angel Dust in particular, opened their mouths in excitement at the fact that they were going to see Charlie as a toddler. Everyone moved closer to each other as Lucifer put the tape in the VCR.

The video tape cut to see Charlie at about thirteen months old, attempting to stand up while holding onto the couch as Lucifer was sitting with KeeKee in his lap and holding a chewed-up wire. Charlie was grabbing and studying the wire as Lucifer scolds KeeKee.

“Did you chew on this, KeeKee? Bad kitty! Bad kitty.” Little Charlie continued to examine the wire as Lucifer continued to scold KeeKee. “Bad kitty, KeeKee!" Charlie then giggled at KeeKee after her father scolded her. Everyone laughed at the video to see Charlie being cheeky about KeeKee getting in trouble.

“I’m guessing KeeKee was always a sneaky kitty?” Angel asked.

“She was; and she was always climbing on everything, just like she still is now,” Charlie replied.

Once everyone turned back to the video, the screen cut to Charlie standing by the stairwell and holding on to the railing while pointing to KeeKee, who was downstairs now. She attempted to mimic what Lucifer said.

“Bad kitty! Bad… bad…”

“Bad kitty!”

Lucifer and Lilith in the video started laughing. Everyone else laughed when hearing Charlie try to mimic what her father was saying.

“Was that Charlie’s first words?” Husk asked.

“Mmhmm; she kept repeating it every time she saw KeeKee for the longest time,” Lilith explained.

“Bad kitty! Bad kitty! Bad kitty! Bad kitty!”

Everyone laughed again as little Charlie kept repeating “bad kitty” over and over again while pointing at KeeKee. Normally, Charlie would have been embarrassed knowing that all her friends are watching her baby videos, but now, she did not mind that her friends were learning about who she was at such a young age.

The video cut to another video from a different day. Charlie was about one and a half, and she already knew how to walk. Charlie and Lucifer were in the living room again and Charlie toddled up to her father and babbled to him sassily. Everyone laughed after hearing little Charlie act like such a sassy-pants.

“What did you say?”

Little Charlie then looked at Lucifer with a side eye and walked away from him. Lucifer and Lilith, who was still recording, laughed as Charlie walked back to Lucifer and babbled at him again.

“What?”

Little Charlie walked away again.

“She’s like ‘I’m not finished!’,” Lilith said behind the camera.

Everyone laughed as Charlie continued babbling sassy nonsense to Lucifer and pointed at him. Lucifer in the video put his hands up in a surrender.

“You don’t talk to me that way! I don’t care!”

Little Charlie walked back up to Lucifer and began babbling again. Everyone laughed again as little Charlie attempted to push Lucifer and swatted her hand at him. Nobody in the hotel could breathe at the video when it cut out and everyone turned into crying messes at how funny the last video was. They did not think they were going to be able to recover after how much they were laughing at little Charlie.

“Do you think the twins will be as sassy when they get to that age?” Cherri Bomb asked.

“I would not be surprised if they were,” Charlie replied.

“I figured we would watch one more video before we let you and Vaggie show the twins their new nursery. I think everyone will love this one!” Lucifer announced as he took out one more videotape and put it in the VCR. The tape cut to Charlie, who was about four years old at the time, wearing a fancy red dress and little black dress shoes, standing on stage in front of a microphone stand.

“Are we going to watch Charlie’s first time singing on stage?” Niffty asked.

“Yep; this was her favorite song when she was little. You can’t see me in the video, but I accompanied her,” Lilith explained.

The intro to the song was played on the piano behind Charlie as she started singing in the video.

“The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow, there'll be sun”

Everyone awed, gasped, and cried as little Charlie sang her heart out. Charlie covered her face to see her four-year-old self singing one of her favorite songs at the time, and still is to this day. She would still sing it constantly at the hotel and they know the twins will be the same way.

“I'm sure you still love this performance?” Alastor asked.

“I do, although I don’t think it was necessarily my best,” Charlie replied jokingly.

“Well, you were four, what did you expect?” said Vaggie.

Everyone laughed as they continued listening to and singing along to Charlie’s performance of “Tomorrow” until the end. They could not help but join in since they hear Charlie sing it so much to everyone.

Everyone clapped for little Charlie until the video cut out. Lucifer ejected the last video out of the VCR, and everyone hugged Charlie one more time. Charlie and Vaggie looked at Lucille and Lillian and took them out of their bassinets to cradle them in their arms.

“This was a great way to celebrate my first day home with the twins. I loved this trip down memory lane.”

“I know we’ll be making lots of new memories with the twins, starting right now.”

“Well, why wait? This is Charlie’s first day back, so we need a picture of the two of you holding your babies for the first time right here,” Lucifer mentioned.

He got his phone out before asking Charlie and Vaggie to smile and show the babies to the camera. They took one more photo with everyone before Lucifer looked at the pictures that were taken.

“These look great! I know these will be the first pictures in the twins’ baby photo album Lilith and I are making.”

“And we’ll give them to the girls on their eighteenth birthday.”

Charlie and Vaggie hugged Lucifer and Lilith with one arm so they did not suffocate the twins. They knew their motherhood journey was going to be one they were going to remember for years to come.

Chapter Text

Six months have passed since the birth of the twins, and they have hit many more milestones than Charlie and Vaggie would realize. By the time the twins were six months old, they were already sitting up, babbling, smiling, giggling, clapping, kicking, and rolling over. They loved tummy time; it was their favorite part of the day. They were great sleepers, and the only time they cried was if they were hungry or needed to be changed. Lucifer and Lilith warned Charlie that the quietest babies would make up for it in the toddler years. They knew because that was something they wished someone told them when they were first-time parents. That was enough for Charlie and Vaggie to prepare themselves for when the twins turn one. The twins refused to use a bottle, and if they were hungry, they needed Charlie’s breastmilk to be satisfied. Sometimes, she would have both twins on both breasts at the same time.

However, all the fun moments with the twins came with plenty of hard moments. Since they were still babies, they often woke up in the middle of the night. Since the nursery was in Charlie and Vaggie’s room, neither of them had a full-night’s sleep since the birth of the twins. In Charlie’s case, it has been over a year since she got a full-night’s sleep. The rest of the hotel has stepped up on multiple occasions to help raise the twins so Charlie and Vaggie could have a couple of hours of sleep on some days.

On one of those days everyone else let Charlie and Vaggie sleep for a while, Angel and Husk volunteered to watch after the twins. They were just fed before Charlie and Vaggie went to sleep, so neither of them had to worry about waking the girls up for a feeding for another couple of hours. The boys spent most of the time in the lobby with the twins doing tummy time with them and dangling their keys in front of their face to entertain them. Angel brought Fat Nuggets down for the twins to play with, only for them to constantly pull on his tail, bite on his ear, and hit him. Angel decided to not let the twins play with Fat Nuggets until they were old enough to learn how to be gentle with animals.

It was not until both twins started crying when Angel and Husk began to get stuck. It has only been an hour since the twins were fed, so that was ruled out. They looked at each other, knowing there was only one other reason the twins would be crying. Angel walked up to the twins and picked Lucille up to take a whiff of her diaper. Angel gagged slightly as Husk picked Lillian up and also took a whiff of her diaper. He gagged too, then looked at each other again in discomfort.

“Do you know how to change a diaper?” Angel asked.

“I haven’t changed a diaper in over a century,” Husk admitted.

“Well, don’t look at me; I never changed a diaper my entire life.”

Angel and Husk held the twins at arms’ length before putting both of them on the changing table that Lucifer and Lilith installed in the lobby in case anyone else needed to change them besides Charlie and Vaggie. As Angel laid both twins down on each side of the changing table to unbutton their onesies, Husk crawled underneath the table to find their diapers, wipes, and cream and put them on the changing table. Angel noticed big brown stains on both of their onesies. He took the onesies off of both girls and looked under the changing table to see if there were any spare onesies in case something like this happened.

“I can’t find any onesies down here. Just the diapers and wipes.”

“Are all the spare onesies in Charlie and Vaggie’s room?”

“I guess, but they’re both asleep. I don’t want to wake them up for a spare onesie. They deserve to have a couple of hours of sleep since these girls have been waking up every few hours every night for the last six months.”

“So what do you want us to do? Sneak into their room to find clean onesies?” Angel smirked and Husk backed away with a confused look on her face. “Oh, no! I’m not even gonna think about that! If either of them wake up, they’re gonna kill us!”

“Husk, they’re not gonna wake up! They’re some of the heaviest sleepers in the hotel. As long as we stay as quiet as possible, we’ll be fine.” Lucille and Lillian continued crying on the changing table as Angel ran back to them. “But one of us has to stay here with the twins. You’ll take this one, right?”

Husk rolled his eyes and sighed in annoyance, not believing he was roped into one of Angel’s schemes yet again. “Fine; but if they wake up, I’m telling them this was your idea.”

Angel shrugged, knowing that he did not mind being the scapegoat of an idea he decided to follow through with. Husk made his way upstairs with the dirty onesies as Angel stayed with the twins at the changing table, not removing them because of their full diapers and how much they were about to leak. He took his gloves off to put on a pair of latex gloves before he took the dirty diapers off of both twins. He then took a clothespin out of his pocket to put it on his nose since the diapers were stinking up the lobby.

Once Husk got to Charlie and Vaggie’s room, he opened the door slowly to see both girls sound asleep in their bed, Vaggie on Charlie’s chest as she’s holding her, both snoring. And he thought Angel and him were messy sleepers. Husk slowly walked into the room and closed the door so he did not let any light in the room, waking them up. He made his way to the dresser and slowly opened the top drawer to try and find onesies for the twins. Since it was so dark, he could not see which ones were Lucille’s and which ones were Lillian’s.

Husk heard a loud snore that startled him, he looked back to see if there was a chance he accidentally woke the girls up, but Charlie and Vaggie tossed and repositioned themselves in a more comfortable position and snored again. Husk looked back at the opened drawer to grab two clean onesies for the twins. He did not bother looking at which ones were Lucille’s and which one’s were Lillian’s. He just wanted to grab the onesies and run out before either Charlie or Vaggie, or both, woke up. He dashed out of the room before either of the girls could wake up and made his way downstairs, only to see Angel with the clothespin on his nose and wearing a pair of latex gloves, and Lucille and Lillian naked on the changing table.

“So… where are their onesies?”

“I put them in this trash bag so they didn’t stink up the place too much.”

Angel showed Husk the trash bag with the onesies and handed it to him. He looked at Angel, then back at the trash bag, and threw it to the side.

“I’m pretty sure there are actual bags underneath the changing table that are for in case something like this happens.”

“But the garbage bags we have are scented, so it will overpower the diapers.”

Husk looked at Angel in annoyance with a clothespin still on his nose. “I can smell the mix of the poop and the perfume of the trash bag.” He snatched the clothespin off of Angel’s nose for him to actually smell the trash bag. Angel gagged once he finally smelled the trash bag and Husk put it in one of the plastic bags underneath the changing table.

“Anyway, I found two onesies in Charlie and Vaggie’s room. I don’t know which twin either of them belong to, but I didn’t want to wake the girls so I just grabbed two onesies from the dresser and left.”

“I’m sure they all look the same anyway; if Charlie and Vaggie see the girls in different onesies, they’ll let us know.”

Angel and Husk looked at both twins, noticing that they still had poop running up their backs. They ran to the kitchen and Husk handed Angel Lillian and drew the water in the sink. Once the water filled the sink, Angel gently put the twins in the sink and both boys began to scrub them.

“Are you sure we need to do this? If we just wipe their backs, they should be okay,” Husk mentioned.

“It’s best that we bathe them in case we miss anything. These wipes can only wipe so much, and I don’t wanna waste them,” Angel replied.

Husk shrugged and continued scrubbing Lilli as Angel scrubbed Luci. Once they were finished, the boys wrapped each twin in paper towels and made their way back to the lobby. Angel sat the twins on the couch as Husk began to wipe down the changing table so they could get started on changing and redressing them. Luci and Lilli looked at their uncle Angel and smiled as they both began to pull on his shirt.

“Y’know, maybe taking care of babies ain’t as hard as I thought. Maybe we should be fathers,” Angel mentioned as he lightly bounced the twins on both of his knees.

“Maybe down the line, but for now, being guncles is fine with me.”

Once the changing table was clean, Husk grabbed Lilli from Angel and put her on the changing table. Angel did the same with Luci. Husk put the diapers and wipes on the changing table and took two diapers out of the packaging. He looked at the diapers blankly before looking at Angel. He grabbed the diapers from Husk to examine them.

“So… are these like underwear? Like, we can just slip them on the girls?” Angel asked.

“Maybe, I know there are brands of diapers that you can just slip on like a pair of underwear.”

Angel shrugged and began slipping a diaper on Luci and Husk slipped the other diaper on Lilli. They each picked up a twin and both of their diapers slipped off their waists. They looked at each other again before looking at the twins again.

“Is this supposed to happen?”

“I dunno; maybe if we put their onesies on, they should stay on.”

Angel and Husk started to put the clean onesies on the twins until Niffty got in the door with her arms full of new diapers, wipes, and diaper rash cream. She saw the boys attempting to change the twins’ diapers and put the onesies on them and continued laughing until she decided to interrupt their session.

“Guys, what are you doing?”

Angel and Husk stopped and looked at Niffty, who was standing behind them. “We were trying to change the twins’ diapers, but they’re slipping off so we may… need some help?” Angel explained as he put Luci back on the changing table.

“Well, why didn’t you call me? I was just at the corner store across the street.”

Angel and Husk looked at each other again and sighed, realizing that Niffty could have been the one to help them in the first place. Niffty rolled her eyes and walked to the changing table with the supplies she bought, putting them under the table. The fact that she was the logical one in this situation baffled her as much as it did Angel and Husk. Niffty got the stool from the bar and took the onesies off the twins to see what the boys needed help with. The twins’ diapers fell off their bottoms once Niffty picked them up.

“Here’s what’s going on. You weren’t using the straps on the side of the diapers.”

“...There are straps on the diapers?” Angel asked cluelessly.

Husk had an epiphany once Niffty unstrapped the twins’ diapers. “Now it’s coming back to me! It’s been such a long time that I never thought about the fact that you have to rip the sides of the diapers off and they stick back on!”

“Well, now I can show you how to change a diaper so you can begin to do it on your own. Besides, you two want to have your own children someday, right?” Angel and Husk nodded. “So, you’re going to learn how to change a diaper eventually.”

Angel and Husk went back to the changing table to watch Niffty change Luci and Lilli, making sure she was slowing down the steps so the boys could have a chance to watch her change them.

“That looks easy enough,” Angel stated.

“Yep; you just have to remember that you have to wipe front to back, then add the cream afterwards before putting the diaper on.”

Angel and Husk nodded before Niffty handed each of them one twin when she was finished. They took Luci and Lilli back on the playmat and Niffty joined them after she cleaned and disinfected the changing table.

After an hour of Angel Dust playing with the twins with Husk and Niffty, Charlie and Vaggie came downstairs, awake from their nap, to see their daughters sitting in front of him with his full-length mirror in front of them. Angel was using Luci and Lilli’s baby brushes to gently brush their hair and took out a clean makeup brush and gently brushed the twins’ cheeks with them. He put the makeup brush back in his bag after a couple of light brushes on both twins and continued to gently brush their hairs.

“Look at you! You’re so pretty!” Angel said to the twins gently.

Luci and Lilli looked at themselves in the mirror and smiled, flapping their arms to try to grab themselves from the reflection in the mirror. Charlie and Vaggie looked at Angel bonding with his nieces and smiled.

“Having fun?” Vaggie asked as Angel turned around to see the girls awake.

“We had so much fun! Niff taught Husk and me how to change a diaper, and we may have given the twins an extra bath before she came home.”

Charlie and Vaggie sat with Angel on the mat and each put a twin in their laps. The twins smiled and leaned into their mothers to give them hugs. Luci wriggled out of Charlie’s arms and began to move herself across the floor on her stomach. Charlie and Vaggie looked at their daughter and opened their mouths in awe before crying.

“Angel! Angel, look! Luci’s crawling!” Charlie exclaimed as she tapped on Angel’s shoulder as hard as she could.

“I can’t believe our baby can crawl already!” Vaggie added.

Angel looked at Luci pushing herself on the floor to try and get to him. “I think your daughter became a walrus.”

Lilli watched her sister drag herself across the room and wanted to try herself. Charlie and Vaggie cried when they saw both of their daughters attempting to crawl for the first time.

“Vaggie, get Alastor and Niffty! I’ll get everyone else!”

Husk made his way from the bar when he saw Lilli drag herself to him. Charlie and Vaggie called for everyone as they all came downstairs to see the girls dragging themselves on the lobby’s floor. Vaggie took a video on her phone so she could send it to Destino, Emily, Sir Pentious, and Molly. Lucifer and Lilith cried as they held each other to see the milestone their granddaughters met. Charlie and Vaggie leaned on to them to watch again.

“You two must be very proud,” Alastor stated as he hugged Charlie and Vaggie with each hand.

“We are, and this was completely unexpected! Usually babies don’t start crawling until around seven months at the youngest!” Charlie replied.

“But you started crawling pretty early, Charlie,” Lucifer pointed out.

“When you were the twins’ age, all you wanted to do was explore around our house. You’d start dragging yourself on the carpet around because you were so curious about travelling all over the place,” Lilith added.

Charlie and Vaggie laughed as they continued to watch their daughters drag themselves on the floor in an attempt to crawl.

“Do you think they’ll be standing up before their first birthday?” Cherri Bomb asked.

“Only time will tell,” Vaggie replied.

Chapter Text

The day of Lucille and Lillian’s first birthday party has arrived, and Charlie and Vaggie spent the last two months preparing for the occasion. The hotel talked about the themes they wanted to use for the party, and they agreed to the Jungle Adventure theme, since the twins have shown a fascination with animals. They were going to decorate the hotel lobby with plastic leaves and bamboo, give everyone little animal headbands, and they wanted to dress the twins in cheetah onesies and make the cake have a zebra print made from fondant.

On the day of the party, the hotel crew spent the morning decorating the lobby and preparing the cake and the party favors as Charlie and Vaggie prepared the twins’ high chairs with banners that had their names on them. After Angel showed the girls the picture of himself and Molly on their first birthday, Charlie and Vaggie loved the idea so much that they wanted to do it for Luci and Lilli. Lucifer and Lilith came downstairs with the cheetah onesies they made for the twins and showed them to Charlie and Vaggie.

“They look adorable! I think everyone’s going to love how the twins look in the onesies!” Charlie started.

“We’ll put them on once we change their diapers. We should be changing them again about a half hour before everyone gets here,” Vaggie added.

“Thank you, girls; we worked so hard on these onesies for the last week. We didn’t want to reveal them until today,” Lucifer explained.

“Do you need more help putting up the decorations?” Lilith asked.

“We could use some extra hands. Thank you, mom.”

Lucifer and Lilith found some plastic leaves and bamboo on the floor that still needed to be hung in the lobby and began to hang them around the lobby. Charlie and Vaggie finished decorating the twins’ high chairs as Niffty and Alastor came from the kitchen together.

“The cake is almost finished. Do you want us to keep it on the table until it’s time to roll it out?” Niffty asked.

“You can keep it on the kitchen counter. Is it coming out of the oven?” Charlie replied.

“It’s still in the oven right now.”

“Then once we’re done with decorating the lobby, we can help you decorate the cake.”

Alastor and Niffty went back into the kitchen after nodding in agreement. After they went back to the kitchen, Angel Dust, Husk, and Cherri Bomb came from downstairs to show Charlie and Vaggie the headbands they made together.

“We wanted to make them different animals for everyone. Here’s all the ones we made together. You two can be the first ones to pick,” Angel explained. Charlie chose the cheetah headband so she could match with the twins. Vaggie saw the koala headband and immediately reached for it. “Do you two want to choose one? We’ll choose ours after everyone else chose theirs.”

Lucifer and Lilith looked at the options they had left and Lucifer chose the deer headband first. Any opportunity he could get to mock Alastor was an opportunity he could take. Lilith looked at the remaining options and chose the lion headband. She’s been the head bitch in charge since Charlie was born, so it only made sense that she becomes queen of the jungle for her granddaughters’ first birthday.

“Are Alastor and Niffty still in the kitchen?” Husk asked.

“Yep; they’re just finishing up getting the cake out of the oven,” Vaggie replied.

“We know Alastor isn’t gonna need one, but neither do I, and Angel insisted that I choose a headband, so I want to make sure Alastor chooses one too.”

Charlie and Vaggie giggled as Angel, Husk, and Cherri made their way to the kitchen to ask Alastor and Niffty to choose a headband. Charlie, Vaggie, Lucifer, and Lilith put their headbands on and continued decorating the lobby. Once they were finished, Charlie and Vaggie grabbed Lucille and Lillian from their playmat and the six of them went into the kitchen to see Alastor, Niffty, Husk, Angel Dust, and Cherri Bomb decorating the cake together in their headbands. They turned around to reveal that Alastor chose the fox headband, Niffty the frog headband, Husk the giraffe headband, Cherri the wolf headband, and Angel was not even wearing a handmade headband. He was just wearing his PlayBoy Bunny headband that he still had when he worked at one of the nightclubs that Valentino owned for a short time.

“Okay, first of all, I’m pretty sure you’re cheating with that. Second of all, you can’t wear that! This is our daughters’ first birthday party!” Vaggie pointed out.

“Look; I wanted to save some money since these materials were super expensive. Besides, no one’s gonna notice.”

“Everyone’s going to notice!”

“The kids won’t, and I’m pretty sure your father won’t.”

Vaggie rolled her eyes as Alastor looked at Lucifer in the deer headband. He began to static once he noticed Lucifer.

“You’re lucky your granddaughters are right here, otherwise I would have beaten the shit out of you by now.”

Charlie and Vaggie covered their daughters’ ears once they heard Alastor’s response to seeing Lucifer in the headband. Lucifer rolled his eyes and tried his hardest to not scratch Alastor right then and there since his granddaughters were watching him. Charlie and Vaggie put the girls down on the floor so they, Lucifer, and Lilith can help everyone decorate the cake. Once they were finished, they backed away to see the cake they made and decorated together to see how amazing it turned out. The fondant zebra pattern was the perfect symmetry on both sides of the cake with the phrase “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LUCILLE & LILLIAN” in the middle of the cake, written in black icing.

“The cake looks awesome! Vaggie and I are going to go upstairs to change Luci and Lilli and put them in their onesies. All we need right now is to hang the pictures of them from their photoshoot around the lobby and we’ll be done.”

Everyone nodded and made their way back to the lobby to see the framed pictures of Luci and Lilli in their little dresses and grabbing fistfuls of cake while giggling and pushing the cake in their faces. Charlie and Vaggie went upstairs with the twins to change them as everyone else grabbed a framed picture to hang on the wall. They each found different places around the lobby to hang the pictures.

“Okay; so everyone should start coming in about an hour. The lobby looks great, everyone!” Lucifer pointed out once everyone was finished hanging the pictures up.

“Do you guys wanna get started on lunch? I know you mentioned to everyone to come after lunch,” Angel questioned.

“Sure; once Charlie and Vaggie come downstairs, we can discuss our lunch orders and we can just order from somewhere that’s a short walking distance from here,” Cherri responded.

Everyone else nodded and sat in the lobby until Charlie and Vaggie came downstairs with the twins in their cheetah onesies. Everyone looked at the twins and awed once Charlie and Vaggie held them up and the twins smiled and began kicking their legs once they saw their grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

“I’ll admit, both of you did a great job making those onesies,” Alastor pointed out.

“Thank you, Alastor; we spent quite a while on these onesies and we wanted to make sure they fit the girls. It looks like they fit perfectly,” Lilith explained.

“Well, we wanted to wait for you girls to come back down because we wanted to discuss lunch before everyone gets here,” Cherri Bomb said.

“That sounds good. Are you thinking of places across the street?” Vaggie asked.

“Yep, so we can just order, eat, and go,” Angel replied.

“That sounds good, and we should be back in about fifteen minutes before everyone gets here,” Charlie confirmed.

Charlie and Vaggie put Luci and Lilli in their strollers as they all made their way out the door. They walked across the street to grab lunch so they could eat before the party started. They continued talking with each other about the party as the twins babbled and giggled to see their moms, grandparents, aunts, and uncles having fun together.

Everyone that was at the baby shower came to Luci and Lilli’s first birthday party. The guests filed in one by one with gifts of many different sizes for the twins. They all gawked and awed at the twins in their onesies and took pictures of them. For a lot of the guests, this was their first time meeting Luci and Lilli, so they wanted to hold them and get to know them. For Luci and Lilli, it was one of the most overwhelming experiences in their little lives. There were so many strangers that wanted to hold them that they started crying the second someone they never video chatted with began to pick them up or attempted to reach over to Charlie or Vaggie because they were in one of their first unfamiliar situations.

Charlie and Vaggie reached out for their daughters when they noticed they were in distress and comforted them. This was the twins’ first time being around this many people, so they were naturally going to need their mothers more than they usually do. Even Destino, who video chatted the girls every week and the twins were so excited to see, would hold one of the girls and she would reach for Charlie or Vaggie. They ensured the twins that their abuelo was just happy to finally meet them in person because he can’t see them as often due to being in heaven. They wanted to make sure that they understood how much Destino wanted to start getting to know his granddaughters and give them so much love.

“Sweetheart! Say ‘hi’ to Abuelo!” Vaggie comforted as she hugged Lilli and Charlie did the same to Luci.

Charlie and Vaggie gently handed the twins to Destino and they studied him as closely as they could. Luci and Lilli began to feel their abuelo’s face, pinch his nose, and run their tiny fingers through his hair. It only took them two minutes to realize who they were touching and leaned over to Destino for a hug. He smiled and squeezed his granddaughters when it finally clicked with them.

“Hola, ninas! Feliz compleanos!” Destino said and gave the twins a little peck on their forehead.
Luci and Lilli smiled when their abuelo wished them a happy birthday. Vaggie wanted to make sure that both English and Spanish were spoken in the hotel so the twins would be able to speak both languages once they begin talking. Even Angel started speaking Italian to the twins so they would be able to speak three languages once they started talking. Luci and Lilli leaned over to each of Destino’s cheeks and kissed him.

Rosie and Carmilla made their ways to twins once Destino put them back on their play mat. Since this was their first time meeting them, they did not get too close to them. They already saw how overwhelmed the twins were once everyone came in at once and started greeting them. They wanted to be a decent enough distance from Luci and Lilli where they could be curious and crawl over to them.

After looking at their mothers’ mentors, Luci and Lilli crawled over to Rosie and Carmilla and held their little arms out for them. It was starting to become clear that the twins will become overwhelmed in unfamiliar situations, but will warm up pretty easily. Once the twins opened their arms, Rosie and Carmilla reached down to each grab a twin and squeezed. Clara and Odette walked up to their mother and Rosie and put their finger near each twin. Luci and Lilli saw the Carmine twins’ fingers, grabbed them, and tried to eat them.
Charlie and Vaggie giggled to see their twins bonding so well with the Carmine twins. Rosie and Carmilla put the twins down before Emily, Sir Pentious, and Molly walked up to them. Sir Pentious reached into his pocket and found a ring of keys. He jingled the keys in front of Luci and Lilli and they began to giggle and dance at the sight of them. They flapped their little baby hands and bounced their bottoms on the mat as Emily and Molly giggled at the twins and at how excited they were at Sir Pentious.

“They seem to really like everyone here. Maybe we should start a twin convention at the hotel?” Charlie suggested.

“I’m not opposed to that,” Molly agreed.

“Neither am I. I would love to get to know more twins in Hell besides Clara and Odette, and my nieces. Besides, I think we naturally connect well,” Angel added as he and Molly looked at Clara and Odette struck a peace sign at them. Clara and Odette did the same to Angel and Molly before Luci and Lilli smiled and attempted to hold up two fingers in a peace sign after seeing Angel, Molly, Clara, and Odette doing so. Everyone who saw it laughed and cheered when they saw the girls mimic what their aunts and uncle were doing and showing a fine motor milestone to everyone.

“Maybe we can do Twin Day over the summer. We can invite you down if we end up planning one,” Vaggie explained to everyone and suggested to Molly.

“And it can also be a great recruitment event!” Charlie added.

Everyone continued talking with each other until Charlie and Vaggie put Luci and Lilli in their high chairs and rang a little bell to get everyone’s attention. They put Luci and Lilli’s high chairs front and center and they went on the outer sides of the high chairs.

“First of all, I just want to say thank you, everyone, for attending our little girls’ first birthday party. We are so grateful you could make it.”

“Antes que nada, solo quiero agradecerles a todos por asistir a la fiesta del primer cumpleaños de nuestras pequeñas. Estamos muy agradecidos de que hayan podido venir.”

“Before we start with dinner and cake, Vaggie has a special surprise to show us.”

“Antes de empezar con la cena y el pastel, tengo una sorpresa especial que mostrarnos.”

Vaggie made her way out of the front door to retrieve the surprise that she was keeping from everyone for weeks. When she got back, she revealed a real-life capybara that came straight from Colombia! Charlie took Lilli out of her highchair and Lucifer took Luci out of hers and they kneeled down so the twins could begin to pet him.

“How were you able to find a real capybara? This must have been almost impossible to find!” Carmilla mentioned.

“I found some networks that have access to Earth to help me. They gave me access to a Colombian family that has a pet capybara and they were so sweet! Their teenage daughter’s voice even sounds like mine!” Vaggie explained.

“So you’re going to ask whoever helped you to return him?” Lilith asked.

“Yep; since we’re ending the party a little bit before sundown, I’m asking them to pick us up to return Chispi back home.”

“His name is Chispi?” Charlie asked.

“Mmhmm; the littlest one was technically the one that was responsible for him, and he told me his name and everything.”

Charlie and Lucifer sat down with the twins so Luci and Lilli could feel and pet Chispi a little more. Charlie modeled for the girls how to gently pet him, and gave them the chance to pet him. Luci and Lilli began to pet Chispi as gently as they could, like how Charlie modeled for them. Angel noticed how the twins were petting Chispi and realized that if he modeled how to pet Fat Nuggets, the twins would be more gentle with him.

“Everyone will have a chance to pet Chispi; just form a single file line so we don’t end up scaring him. We’ll go two at a time so he’s not overwhelmed,” Charlie explained.

The Sins were the first ones to line up to pet Chispi. Beelzebub and Asmodeus were the first ones to pet him. After that, were Mammon and Satan, then Belphegor and Leviathan. Everyone else lined up behind the Sins to pet Chispi, and he does not react to the many hands that are on him. Once everyone was finished petting Chispi, Vaggie went back to the front door to tie his leash to the knob before coming back with everyone else as Lucifer and Lilith rolled out the food that was catered.

“Thank you, everyone for being so gentle and patient with Chispi! We will have dinner and cake, and then we’ll have the girls open their presents.”

“¡Gracias a todos por ser tan amables y pacientes con Chispi! Cenaremos y tendremos pastel, y luego las niñas abrirán sus regalos.”

Everyone lined up by the food to serve themselves before finding a place to eat and talk with their friends. The party guests continued talking with each other in little packs as Charlie and Vaggie put Luci and Lilli’s highchairs near the couch they were at with Husk, Angel, Cherri, Emily, Sir Pentious, and Molly.

“So… when the twins were petting the capybara, and you were showing them how to do it, did you do the same thing with KeeKee at any point?” Angel asked.

“Yes; when they were first able to sit up, I was a bit hesitant to let the girls pet KeeKee for the first time.

They did pull her tail quite a lot when they had access to her without her in the cage or them in the playpen. Our parenting class mentioned that if we model the behavior and actions we want to see, the kids are more likely to follow. Kids learn through imitation, especially when they’re so young. That’s why they repeat everything you say if you say it in front of them,” Charlie explained.

“So if I model petting Fat Nuggets to the girls, will they be more gentle with him?”

“Absolutely! If you show them how to be gentle with him, they will follow suit. Just remember to do it every time because their short-term memory isn’t developed yet.”

When they were finished eating, Charlie and Vaggie took Luci and Lilli out of their high chairs and placed them on the play mat in front of the couches so they could crawl around some more before it was time for presents and cake. The twins crawled towards Sir Pentious and Cherri Bomb and the two picked one twin each up and put them on their laps. They began to bounce the twins gently on their legs as the girls giggled along.

“They seem to be bonding pretty well with you guys,” Vaggie pointed out.

“Well, they were already bonding pretty okay with me for the last year, I’m just happy that the girls already love their Uncle Pentious,” Cherri replied.

“Hey, if KeeKee loved me on the first day I was here, I’m sure the girls would be infatuated with me,” Pentious mentioned.

Everyone continued talking and eating until Charlie and Vaggie put Luci and Lilli back in their high chairs. Lucifer and Lilith rolled out the cake in front of the girls and Lilith lit the candle that was shaped like the number one. Alastor turned out the lights in the lobby so the candle would light the room and everyone began to sing the “Happy Birthday” song to the twins. When everyone was finished singing, Luci reached for the candle and touched the flame. Charlie and Vaggie ran over to Luci urgently and moved her hand away from the flame as she started crying. Charlie went into the kitchen with Luci to soak her hand in cold water and checked to see if she burned herself. Thankfully, she did not burn herself to the point where she needed to go to the hospital, but she still had a light mark on her hand that Charlie bandaged before coming back into the lobby and putting Luci back in her highchair.

“We’re so sorry about that, everybody! Luci should be okay as long as we ice her hand frequently,” Charlie explained.

“It was actually pretty funny. I got it on video,” Cherri pointed out.

“Can you send it to us?” Angel asked.

“I’ll send it in the group chat for everyone. Pentious, can you send it to Emily and Molly when I send it to you?”

“Of course!”

Everyone got their cameras out to take pictures of Luci and Lilli taking fistfuls of cake and stuffing it in their mouths after Vaggie took the candles out. Since Luci’s right hand was bandaged, she was having a hard time getting any cake in that hand. Charlie and Vaggie made sure to be in some of the pictures, so crouched behind their daughters’ highchairs to get in them and smiled.

Everyone got a slice of cake after singing and taking pictures of the cake. Instead of talking in smaller groups, everyone gathered on the couch together with the twins’ high chairs in the middle so everyone could have a good glance at them. As Luci and Lilli continued smearing cake around their mouths, trying to get anything in it, everyone continued laughing as they watched them.

“So, now that your girls are officially toddlers, are you getting a head start on thinking about preschool programs for them?” Rosie asked before taking another bite of her cake.

“Vaggie and I were looking up a couple of preschools in the area that would be perfect for the twins. They have started crawling and standing up by themselves at a pretty early age, so there is a chance for early letter and number recognition next year. They even just said ‘KeeKee’ a few months ago, and it was their first word.”

“We can always talk to you for some ideas on where to enroll them. The place we enrolled you closed down a couple years ago, but we were doing some research on a couple of preschools in the area,” Lucifer explained.

“Have they said any other words since then?” Bee asked.

“A couple, besides ‘KeeKee,’ they also said ‘mama’ and ‘cat’ on the same day. Right now, they’re able to repeat words that you say to him. Watch.” Charlie put her cake on the coffee table and walked over to the twins, still grabbing and smearing cake on their faces. “Luci, Lilli, what’s this?” Charlie pointed to her nose.

“Nose!” Luci and Lilli said together as they saw their mother point at her nose. Everyone clapped for the girls before finishing their cake.

“Now that the girls are toddlers, how does it feel to know that your first year as mothers is over?” Carmilla asked.

“It’s a bittersweet feeling. I’m starting to know what it feels like to see your child grow and get older and see them reach new milestones. I know you mentioned when Clara and Odette graduated from high school, you had that same feeling. You were both proud of them and everything they accomplished, but at the same time, you can’t help but feel a little sad that they’re not kids anymore,” Vaggie explained.

“Well, those feelings are only going to come more and more from here. I know Lucifer and I are feeling that way to see our granddaughters turn one,” Lilith replied.

“Either way, the years ahead are going to be exciting for us. Thank you all, by the way, for coming and being such a great support system for us.”

“You’re welcome, Charlie; we’ll always be here for you if you need anything. You can call any of us at any time if you need advice on something,” Ozzie said.

Once everyone was finished with cake, Charlie and Vaggie helped Lucifer and Lilith collect everyone’s dishes and put that and the cake back in the kitchen, so it would be time for the twins to open their presents. They got so many new toys, including a play kitchen, several sets of wooden blocks, a toy xylophone, a set of cloth dolls, egg shakers, a See ‘n Say toy with farm animals, a toy phone, some toy wooden cars, a soft mirror cube, and several teethers since they are beginning to get to the age where they are starting to teeth. Charlie and Vaggie thanked everyone for the presents before everyone began to leave one by one. Since it was almost sundown, Emily, Sir Pentious, Molly, and Destino had to be the first ones to leave.

“Thank you so much for inviting us, Charlie and Vaggie; keep video chatting us with the girls so we can see them grow,” Emily thanked.

“You’re welcome, Emily; and we’ll video chat you as much as you can,” Charlie replied.

As Charlie talked with Emily, Sir Pentious, and Molly, Vaggie gave her father a hug and a kiss goodbye.

“Intentaré visitaros tanto como pueda ¿vale?”

“Por supuesto; te llamaré para planificar una visita.”

Once the Heaven crew left, everyone else shuffled out to say goodbye to Charlie, Vaggie, and everyone else at the hotel before the lobby was empty except for themselves and the mess of confetti, decorations, and the twins’ new toys. The crew crashed on the couch together as Charlie and Vaggie held the twins in their arms.

“Do you want to start cleaning up?” Charlie asked everyone.

“We can start tomorrow. Right now, I think we need to start going to bed early,” Lucifer replied.

“That sounds good; Vaggie and I will begin changing the twins and putting them to sleep. Today was fun, but it was pretty exhausting. Hopefully, future birthday parties won’t be this hectic.”

“I wouldn’t guarantee that since they’re going to have more friends their age,” Lilith added.

Charlie and Vaggie went upstairs with Luci and Lilli as everyone else went to their rooms to settle down for the night. Now that the twins are officially toddlers, it was time for the crew to look back on the past year in fondness and sentimentality, along with looking forward to the future of the twins and how much more they will learn as they grow.

Chapter Text

Lucille and Lillian’s second birthday came and went in an instant, and in the last year alone, the milestones kept coming and coming. The girls were already speaking in short phrases in both English and Spanish when they wanted something and began running around the hotel lobby together to play lobby tag. They also had a fondness in playing hide-and-seek around the hotel and asking anyone that was available to play with them. Their love for art and music has also been nurtured by everyone in the hotel. Charlie would include the twins in bonding exercises that involved painting pictures and arts and crafts and hung their artwork around the lobby and invited their friends over for an Art Show.

Lucille and Lillian also ended up inheriting Charlie’s love for music and singing. The hotel was filled with a steady diet of “Baby Beluga” and “If All the Raindrops” from the twins, and Alastor taught them “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” and it became the twins’ favorite song. The twins always wanted their grandfather to give them their baths every night because every time Lucifer gave them a bath, he would give them some rubber duckies to play with and sing the “Rubber Duckie” song with them. The twins would even be visibly disappointed when Lucifer was not available to give the girls their baths.

Along with their newfound love for art, music, and dance, the twins started growing a fondness for jokes and pranks. A couple of months after their second birthday, Angel and Cherri caught the twins drawing little pictures on Husk’s face while he was sleeping. They thought their uncle Husk looked so silly with all those drawings on his face. That was when Angel realized that he had to break out the Whoopee cushion, the fake Pringles can, and the fake vomit for the twins so he and Cherri could teach them the best ways to prank the rest of the hotel in a friendly and appropriate manner. When Husk asked Angel if he had anything to do with the drawings on his face that day, Angel told the truth and told him that Luci and Lilli drew the pictures on their own, and now he was going to teach them to be top-notch pranksters.

As Lucille and Lillian get older, Charlie and Vaggie are noticing a couple of social and emotional delays in them. While they were able to sing the alphabet and count to ten, when it came to their social and emotional needs, the twins were having difficulty solving social problems with grown up intervention. Whenever they were playing with one of their toys with someone else in the hotel, and a grown up asked them to share the toy with them, both twins would break down crying and shout “No!” to them. Since there were no childcare programs nearby that do any programs before preschool, Husk and Angel Dust decided to pitch an idea to Charlie and Vaggie.

“We want to start a daycare program at the hotel,” Angel pitched.

“This will not only help the twins interact with children their own age, but it could also be great traction to the hotel,” Husk continued.

Charlie and Vaggie looked at each other, and then at Husk. “You do realize we’re not a certified daycare, right?” Vaggie started.

“So, we can advertise it as a nannying service while the kids’ parents are working; and this can also encourage their parents to check out the hotel and what we do. You can help us plan activities and events for the kids.”

“Well… are you sure the average parent is going to trust either of you to watch over their kids? I mean, you don’t have the most… kid-appropriate interests,” Charlie pointed out.

“How’s this, Husk and I will move all the alcohol from the bar and lock it in our room. I’ll also use my real name on all the flyers and social media posts so no one will know that a porn star is watching over their kids.”

Charlie and Vaggie thought for a bit before responding. “Okay, we’ll run the program and advertise for September enrollment. But, Angel, you have to use your real name when you’re with the kids too, and you need to tell Luci and Lilli that they need to call you Anthony during program hours.”

“Deal! The twins’ll get so used to using my real name that they’ll just call me Uncle Anthony even after program hours.”

Charlie gave Angel and Husk the flyers she printed out and offered to help them hang them around town. She and Vaggie asked Alastor to watch over the twins while they were out with Angel and Husk distributing the flyers. Charlie printed at least one hundred flyers that she would hopefully get the attention of every parent in the Pride Ring and they could even tell their friends about the Hazbin Hotel and what they are about and their mission. Charlie also promised to have a coffee double date if they got enough calls about the program.

After an entire summer of advertising the program, the hotel got over thirty calls from parents who were interested. Charlie had to accept the families on a first-come-first-serve basis, and had to turn some families down to keep the child-to-adult ratio steady. Charlie also helped Angel and Husk think about activities they could do with the children and helped come up with a schedule, since children this young need as much consistency as they could. They planned their lunch menu, events and spirit days to hold, and holiday parties they could host for before the holiday breaks.

Now, it was time to meet the children and families, who will hopefully be Luci and Lilli’s new friends and new word-of-mouth advertisements for the Hazbin Hotel. Charlie and Vaggie decided to hold a Meet the Crew day so the families could get to know everyone before the beginning of September. After the success of the meeting, the day after Labor Day rolled around and it was time for the Hazbin Hotel’s Daycare program to begin! Niffty also offered to help out since there were going to be twenty two-year-olds in the lobby, so Angel and Husk could get as much help as they could possibly get.

The families shuffled in the lobby to greet Charlie and the crew and talk about how excited they were to start the program and meet Luci and Lilli. The twins ran up to the kids to say hi to them after getting to know them during the Meet the Crew day. Even a couple of families that were unable to attend the orientation came for the first day. Many of the children were hesitant at first, since there were so many children at once; but once Luci and Lilli walked up to them to say hi, they smiled and joined in on their conversation.

All the new children except for one joined in with Luci, Lilli, and the rest of the children. Charlie walked over to the child to talk to her and noticed she was wearing a hearing aid. She stood back up to talk with her mother.

“I mentioned in the email that Rachel was deaf and is delayed in her language because of it. I don’t know if I mentioned her accommodations, but if there is anyone that knows Sign Language in the hotel, that would be very helpful,” the mother of the child mentioned.

Husk walked up to the mother and daughter and kneeled down to Rachel. He signed, “Hello, my name is Husk; I will be one of your caregivers.”

Rachel smiled and signed, “Hi, Husk! I’m Rachel, and this is my mom.”

Angel walked up to Husk and Rachel when she noticed them communicating together in Sign Language and signed, “Hello, my name is Anthony.”

“He’s going to be your other caregiver,” Husk signed.

Husk taught Angel a little bit of Sign Language when they started dating. While Angel was not as fluent as Husk, he was still practicing as much as he could, and now he had an opportunity to practice more and apply what he learned.

Husk and Angel walked Rachel to the rest of the children and introduced her to Lucifer and Lilli in sign language. Rachel introduced herself to the twins as they looked at her, confused at what she was doing.

“Rachel is deaf, that means she has a hard time hearing. So, she uses her hands to communicate. This is called Sign Language,” Husk explained to the twins. He stood up to walk back to Rachel’s mother.

“I will act as her interpreter during the entirety of the program. If there’s anything you need, just let us know.”

“Thank you, Husk; Rachel was already feeling welcome when you and Anthony introduced yourselves to her.”

As the parents shuffled out, the children sat on the couches in the lobby so Charlie could introduce them to their caregivers for the school year and get the day started. Husk, Angel, and Niffty stood next to Charlie before she introduced the children to them.

“Hello, boys and girls! I’m Charlie Morningstar, the Princess of Hell, founder and owner of this hotel, and Lucille and Lillian’s mom! These will be your caregivers, Anthony, Husk, and Niffty. They will be watching over you for the school year. You’re all going to have so much fun! We all planned so many fun activities for you and you’re going to feel so much love from these three. I’ll let Anthony, Husk, and Niffty take it from here.”

Charlie left the lobby and went upstairs as Angel, Husk, and Niffty stared at the kids. The kids stared at them back with widened eyes and bored expressions. The lobby filled with silence before anyone could say anything.

“Hi… so… this is your new daycare program. We’ll start with introducing ourselves to everyone… Luci and Lilli can start since they live here,” Husk said as he also interpreted in Sign Language.

The kids looked at each other and one kid shouted something that was illegible and all the kids began tackling and beating the shit out of Angel, Husk, and Niffty. Angel was so buried in a pile of two-year-olds that he could barely get up from the floor. Husk successfully got himself out of the pile of toddlers to see Niffty attempting to calm down a wriggly child. He offered to handle that child before another child grabbed KeeKee, who was sleeping on the bar’s counter, and threw her across the room.

“Maybe this was a bad idea after all…” Husk mentioned as he tried to get Angel out of the toddler pile and protect him before another child could tackle him.

“Well… we only have one hundred seventy-nine days to go…” Angel replied with distress as a child jumped on his back and tackled him to the ground again.

After Niffty caught KeeKee from the child that threw her, she put her on the stairs to let her go upstairs with Charlie and Vaggie. Another child found a ball underneath the bar’s counter and threw it at the window, breaking it.

“MY WINDOWS!” Niffty screamed once the window broke. She grabbed the child who threw the ball and moved her over to the couch.

Once Angel successfully got out of the child’s strong tackle, Charlie and Vaggie came downstairs to see the ruckus happening in the lobby with their twins involved in the chaos. Vaggie blew a whistle that she bought specifically for situations like this and the children stopped what they were doing to look at Charlie and Vaggie.

“Hold on a second! This is not how we treat a space that is not your home! We’re going to call all of your parents about how every single one of you trashed our lobby! Luci, Lilli, we’ll talk to you at the end of the day when everyone leaves! Now, use those listening ears for your teachers! Thank you!”
Charlie and Vaggie walked back upstairs as the children silently made their way to the couch, pouting as Angel, Husk, and Niffty made their way to the center of the couches to continue what they were saying.

“Anyway, like I said, we’re going to start by going around the room and saying something about ourselves. I’ll start, but I’m not doing that stupid rhyme Charlie does with us every time we get a new person. I’m Husk, I’m the bartender at this hotel, and a fun fact about me is that I’m a practicing magician in my spare time.”

“Can you show us a magic trick!?” one child interrupted after Husk’s introduction.

“I might show you some at the end of the week. I’ll also ask Charlie about teaching you how to do a couple magic tricks later in the year and doing a magic show for the Spring Carnival we’re holding in May.”

The children cheered before settling down as Angel made his way to the middle and began to introduce himself to the kids.

“My name is Anthony, I’m the first guest at this hotel, and a fun fact about me is that I have a whole box of prank props in my room that I’m teaching the twins to use. Also, my birthday’s on Prank’s Day, so I may have the twins prepare a big prank for everyone this year.”

“Can you teach us some of your pranks on your birthday?” another child interrupted.

“I can teach you some of my classic pranks the week before, so you pull some on your families on the morning of. It’s the best way to celebrate my birthday. A couple years ago, the rest of the hotel got back at me by filling my cake with hot sauce. Remember that, Husk and Niffty?"

“I remember that. Your pranks would get so bad on your birthday that Cherri Bomb thought of how to get back at you,” Husk replied.

“Mr. Anthony, do you have a Whoopee Cushion?” another child called out.

“I do, and I have fake throw-up.”

“Awesome!”

“But hold on, these are special props that only a true prank master could be privileged to use. You must use them with great care.”

“We promise!” the children chorally responded.

“Okay, then I’ll do a special Prankster Workshop the week before April Fool’s day for everyone!”

The children cheered before Angel and Husk gave them a signal to quiet down so Niffty could introduce herself.

“Hi, everyone; I’m Niffty, I’m the housekeeper at this hotel, I know I look like a child but I’m actually an adult and am very much qualified to wipe your butts.” The children laughed before Niffty could continue. “A fun fact about me would be that I like to write my own stories. Most of them are not for kids, but maybe I’ll write a children’s book and share it with all of you one day.”

The children scream-cheered before Husk and Angel could quiet them down. Luci and Lilli gleefully got up from the couch and walked to the center of the lobby next to Husk and Angel. They wanted to do the ice breaker since Husk announced it before the rest of the children went wild.

“I’m Lucille.”

“And I’m Lillian.”

“Charlie’s our mommy!”

“And, a fun fact about us is… we have two mommies!”

Luci and Lilli sat back down on the couch as the rest of the children cheered for them. Seeing the twins being so confident in introducing themselves inspired the rest of the children to raise their hands to go next. They were all so eager to go that Angel and Husk agreed to go clockwise so everyone had a chance to go. After hearing the previous person go, the children got more and more eager to stand up and talk to everyone. The icebreaker alone was enough to boost all the children’s confidence and self-esteem.

As the day went on, the children were beginning to get used to having Angel, Husk, and Niffty as their caregivers for the day. While many children cried throughout the day, that was to be expected during the first month and a half of the program. Most of the day consisted of getting-to-know-you type of activities, songs, and games for the children to play so they could start making friends with each other. Luci and Lilli were starting to get a little more comfortable with playing with other children their own age, which was already going to excite Charlie and Vaggie once their first day of preschool draws nearer and nearer. Even Angel, Husk, and Niffty were starting to enjoy their time with the children.

As the day ended and everyone was being picked up by their parents, Charlie and Vaggie came downstairs to see a much calmer Angel and Husk smiling at the families as they were letting them know they were going to see them the next day. Once Luci and Lilli were the only children left in the lobby, Vaggie took the girls upstairs to talk to them and Charlie sat with Angel, Husk, and Niffty to talk about the day.

“So, did the rest of the day go smoothly?”

“The rest of the day was much better. This one kid drew a picture of him with the three of us and said that he can’t wait for tomorrow to see us again!” Angel explained as he showed Charlie a picture that one of the kids drew of himself, Husk, and Niffty.

“Are you planning on hanging it in the lobby?”

“Absolutely! We’re gonna hang all the drawings we get from these kids in the lobby!”

“It sounds like you bonded with these kids pretty well today. Are you excited for the rest of the school year now?”

“We are now; I think these kids are going to have a great year with us,” Husk replied.

“Speaking of, we wanted to talk to you about new events we wanted to have planned for the year. Is that okay?” Angel added.

“That’s fine; I’ll talk with you over the weekend and you can give me the list of other events you want to do with the kids,” Charlie responded.

It was not that long until Vaggie came back downstairs with the twins, both of which had ashamed looks on their faces. They looked at their mother before saying what they wanted to say to her.

“We’re sorry we made a mess in the lobby, Mommy,” Luci started.

“We promise it won’t happen again,” Lilli added.

“We talked about what happened this morning and Luci and Lilli are going to help clean up the mess they helped make,” Vaggie said.

Charlie held her arms out and gave her daughters a hug. The twins climbed onto their mother’s lap and laid their heads on each of her shoulders.

“Did you girls at least have fun?”

“We did! Uncle Husk said he wanted to show everyone magic tricks one day!” Luci mentioned.
Charlie looked at Husk and Angel and smirked.

“Was that what you meant when you were talking about other events?”

“Maybe…”

Charlie rolled her eyes before Luci and Lilli went to Angel and Husk to give them a hug after such a fun day.

“Uncle Husk, can you also teach us sign language?” Lilli asked.

“I would love you. Uncle Angel can also help me.”

“Are you sure? Ya know I’m not as fluent as you.”

“Sure; you can still learn with them.”

“Yay!!” Luci and Lilli hugged Husk and Angel as tightly as they could before going back to Charlie and Vaggie.

“So, I’m guessing they really like Rachel and want to
be friends with her?” Charlie said.

“They sat with Rachel for most of the time today. Even though they were having trouble communicating with her, Rachel was still happy that the girls still wanted to play with her. They asked Husk to come with them whenever they wanted to play with her and translate what she was saying to them,” Niffty explained.

“Rachel is so nice!” Luci said.

“We want to have a playdate with her!” Lilli added.

“Okay, girls; we’ll talk to Rachel’s mom tomorrow and see if we can arrange a playdate for this weekend,” Charlie replied.

Luci and Lilli cheered and hugged their mother before running back upstairs to play with KeeKee. Charlie and Vaggie looked at their daughters and smiled before looking back at Angel, Husk, and Niffty.

“So, was Luci and Lilli able to understand sharing
and taking turns a little bit more?” Vaggie asked.

“They were having a little bit of a hard time when a kid wanted to play with a toy they were playing with; but I intervened and helped them find solutions to their problem. They just need some practice. I’m sure that by the time they start preschool, they will at least be a little bit better at solving social problems,” Husk explained.

Charlie and Vaggie smiled as they hugged Husk.

“We knew you would be the one to help them navigate that. Thank you, Husk,” Charlie thanked.

“No problem; I know they’ll be much better at
handling these situations by June.”

Charlie, Vaggie, Angel, Husk, and Niffty went back upstairs to ask the girls if they wanted to help make dinner. While today was a whirlwind of a day, Angel and Husk would know that they would be having some of the best times they could this year with these children.

Chapter Text

Another year has come and gone, and before anyone knew it, Luci and Lilli were about to start preschool. The twins were so excited about it that they wanted to make sure that they were as prepared as possible for the first day. They made Charlie and Vaggie take them to Target to buy school supplies and little matching outfits for them. Charlie and Vaggie were big on matching outfits for the twins since they were babies since putting the onesies Angel and Cherri gave them for the baby shower on them. They had so many pictures of the twins in matching outfits that they could have separate photo albums of the matching outfits alone.

On the night before the first day of school, Luci and Lilli snuck downstairs in their new outfits and went into the kitchen. Lilli opened the cabinet to grab a reusable grocery bag from the bottom shelf, and Luci opened the refrigerator and grabbed three apples, a block of cheese, two packs of yogurt, and a whole chicken in the bag. It was not long until Vaggie came downstairs tiredly to see the kitchen light on after not seeing the girls in their beds. Vaggie entered the kitchen to see the girls raiding the refrigerator until they noticed their mother in the corner of their eyes and stopped what they were doing.

“Girls… Why are you in the kitchen late at night?”

“We’re getting ready for preschool,” Luci replied.

“But it’s late. You can’t go to preschool if you’re tired.” Vaggie walked to the bag to see what was in it, and saw all the food that they packed together. “And your mother and I already packed your lunch for you. It’s in the fridge in your new lunchboxes.”

Luci and Lilli looked in the refrigerator and noticed their Sesame Street lunch boxes in them. They looked at the bag of assorted foods, then at their mother.

“Oh…” Lilli said disappointedly.

“Also, do you realize that your dresses are on backwards?”

The twins looked down at their dresses, then at each other. They turned their back to Vaggie to show off the message on their dresses that each said “I’M ONE SMART COOKIE” with a cookie below the saying with a cute face on it.

“No…” both twins said simultaneously.

“Well, they are backwards. It’s okay; mommy and I will put them back on tomorrow morning for you. Now, come upstairs; I’m going to change you back in your pajamas and put you back to bed.”

Vaggie led her daughters back upstairs to their room so she could change them back in their pajamas and put them back to bed. Luci and Lilli followed their mother as they each yawned before Vaggie scooped both twins up to carry them. The morning after was going to be a busy and exciting one for everyone in the hotel.

The next morning came before anyone knew it, and Luci and Lilli were the first ones up once they saw the sun come up. The twins smiled at each other and jumped out of bed before jumping on their mother’s bed until they woke up themselves.

“Wake up, mommy! It’s the first day of school!” Both twins yelled until Charlie and Vaggie woke up to see their daughters more energetic than usual.

“Okay, okay! It’s still early! We don’t need to leave for another two hours. Just go downstairs and see if Aunt Niffty is making breakfast. She should be downstairs by now,” Charlie explained before she and Vaggie drifted back off to sleep.

Luci and Lilli ran downstairs to see Niffty getting started on breakfast. She figured that since the twins were talking so much about how excited they were about their first day of school, they were going to be up an hour before everyone else. Niffty heard the sound of little footsteps and turned her head to see Luci and Lilli walking into the kitchen.

“Aunt Niffty! Are we gonna have breakfast?” Lilli asked excitedly.

“I’m making a big breakfast for everyone, but I want to keep it a surprise until everyone is awake. I’ll let you know when I’m finished.”

The twins nodded before going back upstairs to find their dresses that they put on backwards the night before. They got into their room to see Charlie and Vaggie just got up to place the dresses on their beds. They knew that once they came back upstairs, the twins would want to change into their dresses almost immediately.

“Good morning, girls! Is Niffty making breakfast?” Charlie asked.

“Yes! She’s not done yet,” Luci replied.

“Well, we figured you’d come back up here because you want to put your dresses on,” Vaggie mentioned.

The twins cheered before Charlie and Vaggie got the dresses out of the closet for them. Charlie put the twins on their bed as Vaggie unzipped their dresses to put each of them on them. Once the dresses, white tights, and black dress shoes were put on each of the twins, Charlie got the hairbrushes and gave one of them to Vaggie. Both girls sat behind one twin each to begin brushing their hair. They wanted their daughters to look their absolute best on their first day of preschool, so they wanted to do cute pigtails using little apple hair ties for the girls that would go great with the dresses.

After the girls were finished with the girls’ hair, they went downstairs to see that everyone else was downstairs getting breakfast set up. Everyone looked at Luci and Lilli in their dresses and pigtails and immediately ran over to them to give them a hug and admire how adorable they looked in their new outfits. Everyone wanted to take pictures of the twins before eating breakfast together.

“Did you get those dresses yesterday?” Alastor asked as he picked Luci up.

“We did; we thought they were adorable and the girls loved them too,” Charlie replied as Lilli ran to her grandfather to get picked up.

Alastor and Lucifer put the girls in their booster seats at the table and buckled them in before Charlie and Vaggie joined them for breakfast and to put the girls’ bibs on so they did not mess up their dresses before arriving. Once everyone was finished, Charlie, Vaggie, Lucifer, and Lilith agreed to walk the girls to school as everyone else agreed to clean up breakfast. Lucifer grabbed the girls’ lunch boxes before everyone said goodbye to each other.

Once the Morningstars got to the front of Little Devil’s Preschool, Charlie and Vaggie wanted to get a couple more pictures of the girls with their first day of school boards in front of the school. The twins smiled for the camera a couple more times until they got bored and wanted to go inside the school and meet their teachers. Luci and Lilli ran into the door before their mothers and grandparents could get a hold of them, and once they did, Charlie and Vaggie grabbed the twins so they could find their classroom. Once they all got to their classroom, their teachers were at the front of the door to greet the girls.

“Hello! I’m Ms. Harris, I’m going to be one of your teachers this year!” the older teacher said to Luci and Lilli.

“And I’m Ms. Thomas. You’re going to have such an amazing school year!” the younger teacher added as both of them shook the twins’ hands.

The twins began to go quiet once they saw their teachers. They were often much more outgoing in most situations, but it seemed to be settling in that their mothers, grandparents, or any of their aunts or uncles would not be with them for most of the day. Charlie kneeled down to get on the twins’ level once she noticed tears rolling down their eyes.

“Girls, it’s okay; we’re going to come back for you at the end of the day. You may have some of your friends from last year in your class this year. Do you promise us you’re going to have a good day today?”

The twins nodded as they leaned over to Charlie to give her a tight hug. Vaggie kneeled down to hug her daughters and wiped their tears off of their faces.

“Maybe you can draw a nice picture for us so we can hang it on the fridge when we get home. How does that sound?” Vaggie asked.

The twins smiled and nodded again before hugging their mothers one more time and making their way to their classroom door. Ms. Harris and Ms. Thomas led the girls into their classroom as Charlie, Vaggie, Lucifer, and Lilith left the school to help them get used to being separated from everyone in the hotel. When Luci and Lilli entered the classroom, they saw Rachel sitting by herself at one of the tables. Their faces immediately lit up and they ran over to the table to sit next to Rachel.

“Hold on there, girls; we need to use our walking feet in the classroom,” Ms. Harris mentioned before the twins stopped to walk to the table Rachel was sitting at.

Once the twins sat down, Rachel looked over and her face lit up just as much as Luci and Lilli’s did when they saw her. They hugged each other before sitting back down together to talk about their summers.

“How was your summer?” Luci signed to Rachel.

“It was fun! I went to the beach with mommy and daddy,” Rachel signed back.

“Our grandma, grandpa, and mommies took us to LuLu World. We had a lot of fun,” Lilli signed.

“I had a lot of fun too.”

“Uncle Husk also taught us some more words in sign language so we can talk to you more,” Luci continued signing.

“He just taught us how to say ‘you are my best friend’,” Lilli continued as she and Luci signed “you are my best friend” to Rachel.

“Also, your dresses are pretty. Did your mommies get them for you?”

“Yes, they got them yesterday,” Luci signed.

It was not long until more children shuffled into the classroom and Ms. Harris and Ms. Thomas got their students’ attention to begin their introductions. The teachers stood in front of the chalkboard before Ms. Harris began the introduction.

“Good morning, class! My name is Ms. Harris, and this is Ms. Thomas. We’re going to be your teacher for this school year.”

“Good morning, Ms. Harris and Ms. Thomas,” the class chorally responded as Rachel signed to catch up to what her classmates were saying.

Luci and Lilli looked around their classroom to see if there were more friends they recognized from last year. They did end up seeing Kyle, who was so fascinated with Angel and his pranks that he wanted to join in on the April Fools’ Day prank. The twins waited for Kyle to look at them and waved hello to him, and Kyle waved back at them.

“Now, to begin your first day, we want to just go around the room and say your names. Right here, I have our magic talking stick, and it will be your turn to talk once I give you the talking stick,” Ms. Thomas explained as she held up a wooden tube-like stick that was decorated with different colored yarns.

Luci and Lilli already wanted to be the first ones with the talking stick, but they saw that their teachers gave the stick to the child in the front of the class that was closest to them. If there was one thing that was pushed on them more than anything last school year with Angel, Husk, and Niffty, it was being patient and taking turns. Before the daycare program at the hotel, the twins had a difficult time taking turns. They wanted to do everything right that minute and did not care who was with them. When they had more experience with playing with other children that previous year, their social and emotional skills improved drastically. The twins continued listening to everyone’s names to get to know their classmates.

“Kyle!”

“Olivia!”

“Mia!”

“Joseph!”

The stick continued making its way around the classroom until it finally got to the twins, and it was their turn to talk.

“Lucille!”

“Lillian!”

Lilli passed the talking stick to Rachel before she stood up and signed the letters in her name. “R-A-C-H-E-L.” The rest of the class stared at her until she passed the talking stick to the child sitting at the table across from her.

“Wait! You didn’t say your name!” the child blurted out before giving the talking stick back to Rachel.

Rachel looked at the talking stick, then back at the child before making a slurred sound from her mouth. She cried until Ms. Harris intervened.

“Rachel was trying to spell her name using her hands. This is called Sign Language. She was spelling her name, R-A-C-H-E-L, Rachel! She speaks with her hands because she is deaf, that means she cannot hear. Her mommy brought in a book about the friendship between a deaf child and a hearing child, and has lots of Sign Language in it,” Ms. Harris explained as she signed her explanation.

“We will learn lots of Sign Language in this class so we can communicate with Rachel better,” Ms. Thomas continued.

Rachel stopped crying when she saw her teachers sign what was going to happen in the class. Luci and Lilli hugged Rachel before the child at the table across from her turned around to see that she was not crying anymore.

“I’m sorry, Rachel.”

Rachel smiled and gave the talking stick back to the child so the rest of the class could continue the introductions.

“Isabela!”

“Sebastian!”

“Anthony!”

“Ivy!”

The twins enjoyed listening to their classmates’ names to help them get to know the rest of the class better. Once the talking stick made its way back to Ms. Harris and Ms. Thomas, they put it on their desk in the front of the classroom before introducing the next activity.

“Okay, friends; now we’re going to transition to the carpet for circle time. Today, we’re going to talk about our classroom rules and how we can use them everyday in our classroom,” Ms. Harris explained.

“When you hear us clap twice, stand up and push in your chairs,” Ms. Thomas added and she and Ms. Harris clapped twice. Luci, Lilli, and the rest of the children stood up from their chairs and pushed them in.

“Now, when we clap twice again, we’re going to use our walking feet to the carpet and sit down criss-cross applesauce,” Ms. Harris continued and she and Ms. Thomas clapped twice again. The class walked over to the carpet together and they found a spot on the carpet to sit down before the teachers sat in the big chairs in the front.

The twins’ first Circle Time consisted of reviewing the rules of the carpet, learning their transition songs and attention grabbers, and going over the class schedule. They were going to do a lot of small-group activities for Literacy and Math, and a Choice Time in the morning after Circle Time so they could choose a center to play in. Luci and Lilli decided to play in the Dramatic Play Center during Choice Time, since pretending is one of their favorite things to do when they were playing with everyone at the hotel. Not only did the twins help Rachel get to know the other children in their class and helped them communicate with her, which helped her become more welcome with the rest of her class.

At story time, Ms. Harris read a book called The Sound of Friendship to the class, which had lots of opportunities for the children to practice Sign Language. The girl in the story was deaf, just like Rachel, and was named Charlie, just like the twins’ mother. The twins were so engaged in the story that they had to participate when they saw Ms. Thomas saying the words in Sign Language. Luci and Lilli learned more words and phrases in Sign Language, such as “nice to meet you,” “truck,” “teacher,” “vibrations,” “together,” “school,” “play,” and “food.” They could not wait to show their mothers and Husk the words they learned in school in Sign Language.

Throughout the day, Luci and Lilli wanted to become friends with Anthony; their first conversation with him was talking about how they had an uncle named Anthony too. They got to know each other in the Dramatic Play center during Choice Time and talked with him and Rachel during lunch. After rest time was over, Ms. Harris and Ms. Thomas prepared a craft for the class to commemorate their first day of preschool. The teachers helped each child paint their hands and print them on a piece of white construction paper. The teachers were then going to put googly eyes and a mouth with a Sharpie Marker and write on the construction paper, “WE’RE O’FISH-ALLY A PRESCHOOLER.”

Once it was time for dismissal, Luci and Lilli lined up with their friends, smiling about their amazing day that they could not wait to tell Charlie and Vaggie about. Once Charlie and Vaggie arrived and Ms. Harris and Ms. Thomas dismissed the twins, Luci and Lilli ran over to their mothers and gave them the tightest hug they could possibly give anyone. It was tight enough for Charlie and Vaggie to almost pop.

“I’m guessing you had a fun first day?” Charlie asked after the twins were finished hugging her and Vaggie.

“We did! Rachel was in our class and we helped her make more friends!” Luci started.

“And we made a craft together! Look!” Lilli continued as she and Luci held up the crafts they made in the afternoon.

“I know we’re going to hang these up in the lobby when we get home,” Vaggie complimented.

The twins cheered as the family walked back to the hotel together. They could not wait to tell everyone about their first day of preschool at dinner. Once they got home, Luci and Lilli ran to their grandparents to give them just as tight of a hug as they did with their mothers. Lucifer and Lilith lifted their granddaughters as they continued hugging them before putting them down and they ran to the couch to tell the rest of the hotel about their day.

“It looks like the girls had a great day at school,” Alastor pointed out.

“Yep; they were a little shy during drop off, but after their teachers led them in the classroom, they had a much better day,” Charlie explained.

“Do you wanna tell us about your day?” Cherri Bomb asked.

Luci and Lilli nodded excitedly and began talking about their day, starting from when they saw Rachel sitting at the table alone.

“We showed her what you taught us, Uncle Husk!” Luci started as she sat on Husk’s lap.

“How was Rachel adjusting to new people?” Husk asked. He and Angel were thinking about Rachel over the summer since they had the closest bond with her the year before.

“She’s doing great! Our teachers also read a book to us that had Sign Language in it and we learned more words!” Lilli replied.

The twins showed the rest of the hotel the words they learned in Sign Language after their teachers read The Sound of Friendship to them. The crew clapped after the twins showed them what they learned.

“And guess what! The girl in the story’s name was Charlie, just like you, mommy!” Luci pointed out.

Charlie giggled and gave her daughters another hug before Luci wriggled out to find Vaggie to sit on her lap as Lilli stayed on Charlie’s lap.

“And also, we had another boy in our class named Anthony, and I told him we had an uncle named Anthony too!” Lilli continued.

“He’s also really funny and loves pranks and jokes too! We told him that your birthday was on April Fools Day, and that was also something you love.”

“Are you going to think of some April Fools Day pranks to pull on him in the spring?” Angel asked.

“We thought we could do one together for the class, and have Rachel join us too,” Lilli continued.

“Do you girls want to show everyone the craft you made today?” Charlie asked.

“Yeah!” the twins said excitedly as they threw their arms up and got up from their mothers’ laps to get their crafts.

Once the twins found the crafts they made, they showed them off and everyone else widened their eyes to see how adorable their hand fishes looked. Luci’s hand fishes were red and pink, while Lilli’s fishes were blue and green. Even the saying at the top of each paper was enough for the rest of the hotel to admire the craft in awe.

“Are you planning on hanging them in the lobby?” Niffty asked.

“Yep; and we’re going to keep them in the lobby, just like all their other artwork,” Charlie responded.

“If we have any more artwork from the girls, we’re not going to have any more room left on these walls, and the entire hotel will be filled with the twins’ artwork,” Lilith explained.

“If we need to make a collage of their best work from this period of time after their fifth birthday, I will be more than happy to do that.”

“Well, with that, I should get started on dinner. Do you girls want to help me?” Niffty mentioned.

Luci and Lilli nodded excitedly and happily followed their Aunt Niffty to the kitchen. Seeing their twins filled with so much joy after their first day of preschool was enough for Charlie and Vaggie to realize they were doing a great job as mothers, and they were going to grow up to be such amazing young women, just like them.

Chapter Text

The summer after the twins’ first year of preschool arrived, and for their fourth birthday present, Charlie and Vaggie wanted to throw a pool party for them. Luci and Lilli wanted to invite everyone in their class to the party, and everyone at the hotel wanted to contribute something to the party. With the implemented no-alcohol policy when it came to the twins’ birthday parties, Husk and Angel had to contribute in other ways in the last four years. Lucifer and Niffty were always in charge of the cake, Husk, Angel, and Cherri Bomb were always in charge of snacks, although they needed to be under tight supervision, and Alastor and Lilith were in charge of decorations. Charlie and Vaggie focused on the guest list and sending the invitations, as well as hosting the parties.

Once the day of the party came, Charlie and Vaggie put Luci and Lilli in their new swimsuits to show off to their friends and the rest of the hotel. The girls had matching blue one-piece swimsuits with little patterns of strawberries all over, and frilly straps that Charlie and Vaggie could not help but squeal in excitement the second they saw their daughters in them. Luci and Lilli putting on their sunglasses was enough for the rest of the hotel to squeal as much as Charlie and Vaggie had.

“Geez, why are you so great at picking out outfits for the twins!? You’re already makin’ me jealous of my own style for the girls, and I’m not even a father yet!” Angel pointed out, lifting Luci from the ground and hugging her.

“We’re sorry that we think our girls deserve cute outfits, just like you do,” Vaggie replied.

“I agree, and they look adorable. I just Husk and I need to step up our game once we decide to have kids of our own.”

“Who said you weren’t going to fill those shoes?” Charlie joked.

The crew laughed before packing up everything for the party in their giant van. They wanted to make sure they were at the community pool an hour before the party started so they could set up before the twins’ friends got there. The hotel ended up going a bit overboard on the decorations that the rest of the pool goers would stare at them the entire time. However, none of them cared. There were going to be plenty of children at the pool anyway, so it was not like they were going to stick out that much.

Once everyone got to the community pool, they set up the decorations at a patch of grass that was next to the pool deck that the rest of the families could easily find. After an hour of setting up the party, Rachel’s family was the first to arrive. Charlie and Vaggie hugged Rachel’s mother before saying hello to Rachel and giving her a hug.

“Hi, Charlie!” Rachel slurred as she waved to Charlie and Vaggie.

Charlie opened her mouth in shock to hear Rachel talk. This was the first time she, and the rest of the hotel, ever heard her talk.

“We just got her new hearing aids, and she started talking much more since getting them,” Rachel’s mother mentioned.

“We’re already very proud,” Charlie replied.

“Thank you; we went to the audiologist after the school year ended because her old hearing aids were starting to become faulty and it was worrying me. Ever since we got this new hearing aid, her hearing has improved significantly and she’s talking more. We also got her a waterproof pair so she could swim while still hearing everything.”

“Hi, Luci; hi, Lilli,” Rachel slurred once she saw the twins. The second they heard Rachel talk, they cheered for her and gave her a tight hug.

“You talked! You talked!” Luci yelled as she continued hugging Rachel.

Rachel smiled when Luci mentioned her talking. Ever since she started saying more words, Rachel’s confidence has shot up like never before. She could not wait to show her other friends how much she is talking now. After talking for a while, Anthony’s family was the next to come to their area. He saw the twins and Rachel and gave them a hug before saying hi to the rest of the hotel crew.

“Hi, Anthony!” Lilly said before hugging him.

“Hi, Anthony!” Rachel imitated and slurred as she walked up to them.

“Rachel! You talked!” Anthony exclaimed before hugging Rachel.

The children talked with each other as Anthony’s parents talked with Charlie, Vaggie, and Rachel’s mother, and the rest of the hotel crew. Anthony’s parents introduced themselves to Angel, since their son talked about how Luci and Lilli had an uncle named Anthony who was very similar to him.

“So you're the twins’ uncle Anthony?” Anthony’s father asked.

“That’s me; the twins talk so much about your son. They were talking about how funny he is and they love to joke around with each other,” Angel explained.

“Well, he was also telling me that the twins get their sense of humor from you,” Anthony’s mother continued.

“I teach them all I know.”

The parents and the crew laughed before more families started shuffling in. Mia’s family, Ivy’s family, Kyle’s family, Isabela’s family, and Olivia’s family were the next ones to come towards the party. Charlie and Vaggie introduced the rest of the hotel crew to the rest of the families before the rest of the families shuffled in. Joseph’s family and Sebastian’s family were the last ones to arrive. Once everyone arrived, the adults found chairs to relax and talk in as the children made their way over to the pool to swim and play after everyone put their floaties on. Charlie, Lucifer, Angel, Husk, and Cherri Bomb volunteered to watch children as the rest of the adults got to know each other at the picnic area.

Angel and Cherri led the children in the games as Charlie, Husk, and Lucifer made sure the children were safe. They started the party with a game of Sharks and Minnows. It was an easy and safe enough game for three and four-year-olds to understand the rules and how to play. The children spread out in a circle as Angel and Cherri swam to the middle of the circle before beginning the game.

“Okay, I’ll lead the sharks, and Cherri will lead the minnows. We’ll take one of each birthday girl before we start dividing everyone,” Angel explained.

For the game, Angel took Luci, Anthony, Mia, Sebastian, and Ivy as the sharks. Cherri took Lilli, Rachel, Joseph, Kyle, Isabela, and Olivia as the minnows. Angel offered for Charlie and Husk to help him, while Cherri offered for Lucifer to help her, so everyone could participate. The sharks counted to twenty to allow the minnows to swim around and find a place to hide before it was time to start finding them.

Once the minnows swam away to various parts of the pool and the sharks finished counting, Lilli noticed a little boy spinning around near a corner of the pool. He was not playing with anyone, and the only person that was near him was a woman who seemed to be his mother. Lilli could not help but feel bad for the boy. It seemed like nobody wanted to play with him because he seemed strange on the surface. Lilli looked to see if any of the sharks were coming her way; they were looking for other minnows that were closer by. She swam to the boy to see if she could get his attention.

“Hi! I’m Lillian! You seem fun. Wanna play?”

The boy did not say anything and continued spinning. He probably did not even notice Lilli in the first place. Luci snuck up behind Lilli and jumped on top of her back before she could say anything else to the boy.

“I got you! You’re a shark now!”

Lilli did not respond to the tag from her sister. Luci attempted to pull Lilli away until she stopped her and showed her the boy that was spinning.

“I wanted to just be his friend.”

“Can I try to say hi?”

Luci attempted to get the boy’s attention by tapping on his shoulder. The boy yelled in fear and ran to his mother crying, and they walked out of the pool for comfort. The twins swam back to their friends to finish the game without saying a word.

After playing two more rounds of Sharks and Minnows, the kids played a round of Marco Polo and Underwater Treasure Hunt. The entire time, the twins could not help but think about the boy they accidently scared when wandering away from their friends. All they wanted was to talk to him and be his friend, but accidentally scaring him was enough for them to think about it for a while until everyone gathered back to the picnic area for lunch. Charlie noticed her daughters were looking a little distraught.

“Are you girls okay? Do you want to talk about something?”

Luci and Lilli grabbed their mother and led her into the locker room as everyone else continued eating their lunch and talking with each other. The twins started crying once they got to an area in the locker room where they could be alone.

“Did someone say something to you?”

The twins shook their heads. “We did meet someone,” Lilli started. “And I saw him spinning, and I wanted to be his friend.”

“Did you say hi to him?”

“Yes, but I don’t think he heard me.”

“I tapped him, but he yelled and ran away. I think I scared him,” Luci continued.

Charlie put her hands on each of her daughters’ shoulders before confronting them. “Girls, I know you want to make a new friend, but we’re here for your birthday party. We need to stay with our group before we can talk to anyone outside our group. Do you want me to talk to his mom when everyone else leaves?”

The twins nodded.

“Okay, just show me the boy when everyone else leaves and I’ll talk to the boy and his mom.”

Charlie hugged her daughters before they left the locker room. She wiped the last of their tears, and the girls felt much better. Once they got back, they tried their hardest not to think about what just happened and focused on their friends.

Once everyone was finished with lunch, Vaggie led the kids in a game of mini-volleyball before it was time for cake. Everyone sang to the twins before Lucifer and Lilith carved the first two pieces and served them to their granddaughters. As the families were enjoying their cake, Luci and Lilli saw the boy from earlier running near the picnic area. They tried not to pay attention to him and enjoy their birthday party. The boy then ran to the twins with his mother behind him.

“Sorry, everyone; my son wanted to say hi to you. He was scared by those two girls earlier today, but I think they were just trying to say hi. We didn't know you were in the middle of a birthday party,” the boy's mother said.

“It's okay. They're my daughters, and they were telling me about him. They did want to say hi. We're really sorry about that,” Charlie explained.

“It's okay. My son is autistic and can't talk, so I wanted to let you daughters know there's no heart feelings.”

“Thank you.” Charlie tapped on Luci and Lilli’s shoulder before they saw the boy and their mother. “Look who wants to say hi, girls!”

Luci and Lilli looked up to see the boy, but this time, he was smiling and screeching with glee to see them. The twins also smiled and ran to the boy to give him a hug before his mother stopped them.

“Hold on there, girls, he doesn't like to be touched. What you can do to show your affection is give him an air high five,” the boy's mother explained.

Luci and Lilli smiled and gave the boy an air high five. The boy smiled again and gave the twins an air high five back.

“Thank you for letting us know about your son. The girls were so upset during lunch that they needed to stop thinking about it.”

“You're welcome; his name is Toby, by the way, and we're sorry for interrupting your birthday party.”

“It's completely fine. We hope we can see you again sometime soon.”

“We hope so too.”

Charlie gave Toby’s mother her phone number before they left. Charlie and the twins came back to their party to finish the festivities. They finished the day with some free play swimming with all the children and parents before everyone left for the day. For the rest of the day, Luci and Lilli were able to enjoy their time with their friends and have the best time they could for their fourth birthday. Once everyone said goodbye to everyone and Charlie and Vaggie made sure all of their daughters’ friends were with their parents, it was time for the hotel crew to pack everything up and go home.

After everyone showered and got into their pajamas that night after dinner, Luci and Lilli came downstairs to see their mothers on the couch together, looking through their phones at all the pictures they took during the party. The twins ran up to their mothers and sat next to them before hugging them.

“Hi, girls! We were just looking at pictures to put in our photo album. Do you want to see some of them?” Vaggie asked.

The twins nodded before Luci spoke up. “Mommy, didn’t Toby’s mommy say he had something? Something that makes him not want to hug? I forgot what it’s called.”

Charlie and Vaggie thought before realizing what Luci was talking about. “Oh, autism? I think it’s time to talk to you about the family’s history,” Charlie mentioned.

Charlie dragged out another photo album that Lucifer kept in the hotel since he moved in. It had every picture of everyone in the Morningstar family since long before Lucifer and Lilith fell to Hell. Now that their daughters asked them about autism, it was time for Charlie and Vaggie to tell them. Charlie turned to a page of herself when she was about Luci and Lilli’s age, sitting in the backyard blowing bubbles.

“This is a picture of me when I was your age. I was diagnosed with autism around that time because your grandparents noticed many behaviors that were putting off other children. While they loved how kind I was to everyone around me, they were noticing how I was having trouble interacting with my friends and expressing my feelings verbally. Dad would often tell me stories about when I was younger, I would often resort to screaming and crying whenever something didn’t go my way.”

Luci and Lilli thought for a minute before continuing. “You mean like we did?” Lilli asked.

“Kind of; while that was only one part of it, I also used to have a hard time joining in with other children when they were playing, and I would go off to do my own thing. Even today, I still have some trouble understanding people’s intentions when they’re saying something to me. I still believe that everyone is good deep down, and many believe it was because of my issue with seeing other’s intentions. But, after founding this hotel and your mother coming into my life, I found some real friends that love and accept me for who I am and see my kindness as a strength rather than a weakness. I also found my escape in my love and passion for singing and performing when I was very young.”

Vaggie nodded and continued. “Most people that have autism have a certain something that they’re very interested in. In your mother’s case, it was performing and music. It was her escape and how she was able to express herself the most. That was what made me fall in love with her. Seeing her so lost in what she was passionate about made me fall head over heels for her and wanted more of it.”
Luci and Lilli moved closer to sit on their mothers’ laps as Charlie took out another family photo album. This time, it had all the pictures of Lucifer when he was a little angel still in heaven. She opened up the album to a page with a photo of a young Lucifer holding up a rubber duckie.

“Grandpa also has autism. He knew something was off with him since he was a kid, but everyone in Heaven assumed he was being a troublemaker and shrugged it off. He was always socially awkward and he didn’t know how to talk to or relate to other people. It wasn’t until he and Grandma were banished to Hell when he got an official diagnosis.”

“Is that why he has that big rubber duckie collection in his room?” Luci asked.

“That is what he’s been the most interested in since he was your age. When he would visit Grandma in the Garden of Eden, he would talk to him endlessly about the ducks in the lake while watching them swim. He used to call the ducks the greatest creation they ever made. His own passion and the ability to make anyone laugh was what made Grandma fall in love with him.”

The twins looked at the photo albums again to see the pictures of their mother and grandfather when they were their age. “So people with autism can and can’t talk?” Lilli asked.

“Yes, plenty of children with autism can’t talk, just like Toby. But many can, just like grandpa and myself, and your aunt Niffty and your uncle Pentious.”

“Aunt Niffty and Uncle Pentious have autism too?” Luci asked, widening her eyes.

“Mmhmm; although when they were alive, they never got an official diagnosis because no one knew what autism was back then. When they were kids, everyone thought they needed to be institutionalized, and Niffty actually was as a child. But decades after arriving in Hell, they started to put the pieces together and finally get the diagnosis they needed when they were alive.”

Luci and Lilli continued looking at the pictures as Charlie told the stories of their family and how autism affected them and their lives. The stories of their mother and grandfather and how they navigated their lives with autism fascinated them more than they would ever realize, and they wanted to use it as a learning moment for their friends.

“Mommy, can you come into school next year to teach my friends?” Luci asked.

“That sounds like a great idea; but I would have to talk to your teachers once school starts back up again,” Charlie replied.

“I know the school has an Autism Acceptance event in April, and I know we saw that My Autistic Mama book at Barnes & Noble the other day, maybe we can read that book for them?” Vaggie suggested.

“That sounds like a plan.”

Charlie and Vaggie held their daughters’ hands to guide them upstairs to their room so they could read them a story before settling them into bed. The girls did not know it yet, but their understanding at such an early age was going to be part of a fun journey for them.

Chapter Text

After another year of preschool for the twins, it was time for their graduation ceremony. While Rachel and Kyle were in different classes that year, Luci and Lilli still had other friends from last year in their class and they made new friends. Even Toby transferred to their school and was in their class, which meant the twins actually did get to see him again and became better friends. During their Autism Acceptance event, Charlie came into the classroom to read My Autistic Mama to the twins’ class and everyone loved it! The twins and the rest of the class wanted Charlie to come back to read another story, but it was so late in the school year that she did not think she would get the chance. She did, however, get the chance to come back to her daughters’ class one more time with Vaggie on the last day of school to volunteer for their party and organize a classroom scavenger hunt for the class.

Now that Luci and Lilli’s preschool years are coming to an end, the hotel looked back on the last two years and the amount of things the twins learned in that amount of time. Now that the girls know the alphabet and the individual sounds each letter makes, words that start with each letter and rhyming words, counting to thirty and their basic shapes, it was time to learn to read actual words on a page, add, and subtract come September.

Before leaving for the ceremony that morning, Lucifer and Lilith prepared a big breakfast to congratulate their granddaughters on another milestone met. After officially moving to the hotel, Lucifer decided to save for special occasions to get the pancakes out. After an hour of reminiscing on the last two years and Charlie and Vaggie realizing that their little girls are going off to kindergarten in the fall, it was time to put the twins in their graduation outfits and take pictures in front of the hotel with their Last Day of School signs. Charlie and Vaggie picked out adorable white dresses for the twins for their graduation ceremony that they wanted to wait until after breakfast to put them on the girls so they did not mess them up. Once the girls’ pictures were taken, it was time to head over to the preschool for the graduation ceremony. While the ceremony itself was going to be small, the gymnasium was big enough that Charlie and Vaggie were able to reserve half the seats for the rest of their family and friends. They were going to embarrass the twins, but they know that they will remember this day forever because they had such a supportive group of people to back them up.

Once the hotel crew came to the preschool, their PreK teachers, Ms. McKinley and Ms. Rene, came up to Luci and Lilli to say hi to them and the rest of their family.

“Thank you, all, for coming; I’m sure Luci and Lilli are going to have the best time in kindergarten,” Ms. McKinley said to the hotel crew.

“You’re welcome, Ms. McKinley; I hope you don’t mind, but we’re going to be reserving a lot of the seats for other family members and friends,” Charlie mentioned.

Ms. McKinley guided Luci and Lilli to one of the classrooms, which was going to be their dressing room for the children in her class to get their caps and gowns, and their rehearsal area to polish up their graduation songs. The hotel crew took a seat in the gymnasium to wait for the ceremony to start as more families began to shuffle in. A few minutes after they took their seats, the rest of the Sins entered the gym to find the hotel crew sitting near the front. Shortly after, Rosie found the crew and sat next to Alastor, with the Carmines and Zestial following them.

“Were you able to find parking okay?” Lucifer asked the Sins.

“It was starting to get pretty crowded, but we all came in the same vehicle so we didn’t have to worry about finding parking individually,” Ozzie replied.

“At least you were able to find the place alright, too,” Lilith mentioned.

After talking for a bit, Emily, Sir Pentious, Destino, and Molly came into the gym and saw the crew at the front. They sat next to Charlie, Cherri Bomb, Vaggie, and Angel Dust respectively and said hi to them before the director of the school and the Sign Language interpreter came up to the stage and tapped on the microphone before starting her speech.

“Good morning, family and friends, and welcome to the Little Devils Preschool Class of 2025 graduation ceremony! My name is Ms. Peters, and I am the Director of Little Devils Preschool and Child Care Center. Today, we are proud to announce the graduation of our class of 2025!”

The crowd applauded and cheered before it died down to allow Ms. Peters to say the rest of the welcome speech.

“We are so proud of our students and every milestone they have made in the last year as they make their way to kindergarten. We have plenty of songs, skits, and artwork to show as a review of what they learned throughout the year. So, without further ado, here is Little Devils Preschool Class of 2025.”

The entire preschool class started walking onto the risers one by one as “Pomp and Circumstance” began playing on the loudspeakers. The families clapped and cheered as they saw their kid walk onstage. As Luci and Lilli walked onstage in cap and gown, the entire crew clapped and cheered for them as loudly as they could until the rest of the children shuffled onto the risers and the music faded. The ceremony started with the class singing “One Small Voice.” Luci, Rachel, Lilli, and Kyle had solos for the song, and while the crew was already proud enough of the twins singing their solo onstage, but hearing Rachel sing and enunciate the words much more clearly than she would of one year ago was enough to make Charlie and Vaggie cry. They could only imagine how proud the twins were of Rachel once they heard her sing for the first time during their rehearsal time.

Throughout the ceremony, the children showed their artwork and talked about what they learned throughout the school year. Some of their artwork throughout the year included their pumpkins for Halloween, their Sinsmas trees, and their flower pots for the first day of Spring, which Olivia, Sebastian, and Isabela showed off. The skits involved reenacting lots of stories that were read to them throughout the year. Ivy, Mia, and Anthony reenacted the story of The Lorax, which was read to them during Earth Day.

Near the end of the ceremony, it was time to announce each name of the graduating class. Ms. Peters mentioned before the announcement of each member of the class that air horns and other loud celebratory toys were not allowed during the ceremony due to the stimulation of the students. Angel and Cherri put their air horn and noise maker back in their bag after the announcement. Everyone applauded for each child that was called, with family members clapping a little louder than the rest. After listening to each child’s name in alphabetical order by last name, Luci and Lilli’s names were finally called to get their diplomas.

“Lillian Morningstar.”

Lilli walked across the stage and shook all the teachers’ hands before getting her diploma from Ms. Peters and shaking her hand. The diploma was a rolled-up laminated piece of paper that had a certificate background that said “CONGRATULATIONS” and had the child’s name typed on it in a script font. Charlie, Vaggie, and the rest of the hotel crew clapped for Lilli as she continued walking across the stage.

“Lucille Morningstar.”

The crew continued clapping and cheering as Luci walked across the stage to get her diploma and shake the teachers’ and Ms. Peters’ hand. The rest of the graduating class was announced and more applause from each of the families could be heard. After an hour of announcing the names of the graduating class, it was time for addressing the class and their performance for the finale.

“To close off our ceremony, I would like to thank everyone of you for your love and support of your children this morning. As they approach kindergarten, we would like you to know that your support will help them as they guide their journey through life for the next thirteen years. I would also like to thank each and every one of our graduates for their time, hard work, and effort they put over these last two years. Before our closing performance, I would like to read a few words of encouragement to our graduates.”

Ms. Peters took out a piece of paper out of her pocket to read it.

“Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away! You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’ll be on your way up! You’ll be seeing great sights! You’ll join the high fliers, who soar to high heights. Will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! Ninety-eight and three quarters percent guaranteed. You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”

The graduating class stood up again to sing their finale song, which was “When I Grow Up,” and Sebastian, Joseph, Isabela, and Oliva came up front for their solos. After the song was over, “Pomp and Circumstance” played again as the graduating class walked off the risers and off the stage to end the ceremony. The families applauded for their children as they continued shuffling off until the last child walked off the stage. Before the families could leave the gym, Ms. Peters stood back at the microphone for one more announcement.

“I would just like to announce that we are going to have a catered luncheon in the cafeteria. We just ask that you wait for your children outside before coming to the cafeteria. Thank you all again, for your love and support as your children transition to kindergarten.”

The audience applauded again before Ms. Peters walked off the stage and everyone stood up to shuffle toward the gym door to find their child. Charlie, Vaggie and the crew were the first ones to see Luci and Lilli run up to them and give them the biggest hug they could give them. Once they saw the Sins, Rosie, the Carmines, Zestial, Emily, Sir Pentious, Destino, and Molly alongside everyone else, the twins squealed with excitement before going to them to give them hugs.

“Did you hear us sing, Mommy? Are you proud?” Luci asked before making her way back to Charlie.

“We are very proud of you both. And, may I ask you, how did you feel when you heard Rachel sing for the first time?” Charlie asked.

“We were so proud of her! We cheered for her when she sang!” Lilli replied.

Right on cue, Rachel came out from backstage to hug her parents. Her mother lifted her up and cried as she continued hugging her. Luci and Lilli ran up to Rachel’s parents after they were done hugging their grandparents and the rest of the crew to give her a congratulatory hug once she was put down. Charlie and Vaggie walked up to Rachel’s parents once their daughters began talking to each other.

“Hi! We all just want to say how proud we are of Rachel for having the bravery to sing a solo in front of an audience. This is the most we have heard her enunciate so far!” Vaggie pointed out.

“Thank you, Vaggie; we are also very proud of her. She has been getting speech therapy for a half hour a day after school and we are already seeing the impact. I took a video to send to her therapist and I know that she’s also gonna be proud.”

The hotel crew and Rachel’s family continued talking as they walked to the cafeteria together for the luncheon. Once everyone served themselves, they found a table for everyone to sit with Rachel’s family and Mia’s father. The children sat with each other with the adults being next to them.

“I just want to say that Luci and Lilli sounded amazing with their solos during the opening song. I’m sure they get their talent from all of you,” Mia’s father mentioned.

“Thank you; I just want to ask you, how’s your wife doing? I know you mentioned she’s been sick for the last couple of weeks,” Charlie replied.

“She hasn’t been doing so well. She’s been in the hospital for the last couple of days, so I had to videotape the graduation to send to her.”

The rest of the crew that were there for Luci and Lilli shuffled to the table after finding Charlie, Vaggie, and the rest of the hotel crew. They found their seats to see their friends’ families and introduced themselves.

“By the way, this is my father and Luci and Lilli’s abuelo, Destino. He doesn’t know any English, so I’ll translate for you if you want to talk to him,” Vaggie introduced.

“And these are my aunts and uncles from the other Rings; Satan, Ozzie, Bee, Mammon, Belphegor, and Levithan. And this is Rosie from Cannibal Town, and my friends from Heaven, Emily, Sir Pentious, who used to live here, and Molly, Anthony’s twin sister.” Charlie started calling Angel by his real name in front of the parents and teachers so his family life could be separated from his films.

“And this is Carmilla Carmine, and her daughters, Clara and Odette, and Zestial.”

Rachel’s family and Mia’s father introduced themselves to the rest of Luci and Lilli’s crew and they continued eating. Everyone talked about the graduation ceremony and how proud they were of their children graduating and how excited they were to find out who their teachers were going to be for kindergarten next year. They talked about the schools their children were going to go to in the fall and that they will still stay in touch.

“The twins are going to be enrolled in Pentagram Elementary in the fall. Where are you guys going?” Vaggie asked.

“Rachel's going to the Community School; we were trying to find schools in the area that focused on children with hearing impairments, but we found a K-12 school for children with disabilities that she would thrive in.”

“Mia's going to go to Sweet Apple Elementary, which is closer to where we live. I know that the girls will be going to the same school again in middle school.”

“But we’ll still call for playdates over the weekend because I know that the kids will miss each other while they’re in school,” Lucifer mentioned.

“So, what are you all planning on doing for the summer?” Angel asked.

“We’re planning on taking Rachel to LuLu World in August to celebrate her graduation and her transition to kindergarten. I’m sure you’re going again this year with the twins?”

“We are; but we’re going to the twins’ fifth birthday this year and Lucifer and Lilith are going to plan the entire week there for them,” Husk explained.

“We were also planning on taking Mia to LuLu World once her mother comes back from the hospital, but it depends on when she comes back and how her health is, because it has been declining for the last couple of weeks.”

“I at least hope she gets better in the next couple of weeks. I’m sure Mia’s heartbroken that her mother couldn’t see her graduate,” Alastor pointed out.

“She was sad that her mother couldn’t see her graduate, but tomorrow we’re visiting her and showing her the videos. She also wants to stay the night with mom and sleep over with her, but I had to explain to her that the hospital does not allow overnight visits. But she could still video chat with mom overnight if she wanted to.”

The families continued talking until it was two o’clock and the luncheon had to end and everyone had to go home. As Charlie and the crew said goodbye to everyone and Luci and Lilli did the same with their friends, they continued talking about the next time they were going to meet up for a playdate. The girls wanted to see each other before the next school year started in the fall and before the twins’ birthday trip to LuLu World, so their parents wanted to arrange something as soon as possible. After celebrating one of their children’s next big milestone, there were so many more they wanted to share with each other. With a brand new journey on the way in the fall and a support system that was getting bigger by the minute, Charlie and Vaggie could not wait to see what was in store next for their little girls.

Chapter Text

The day finally came where it was time for the hotel crew to leave for LuLu World for the twins’ fifth birthday! After packing their suitcases for the week with more than needed, they put them in the limousine to make their way to the airport. Since LuLu World was all the way on the other side of the Pride Ring, flying was the only way to get there that would not take twenty-four hours or more.

As everyone packed themselves in the limo and Charlie and Vaggie put the twins in their car seats, Alastor passed around pillows for everyone so they could sleep a little bit more on their way to the airport. Since their flight was at seven thirty, everyone had to leave the hotel at five o’clock to make sure they got to their gate on time. Once the limo got to the airport and the crew made it through security, everyone slept near the gate, except for Lilith, who wanted to be the one to hear their number and wake everyone up once it was called.

After boarding the plane and taking the four hour flight, the crew spent day one lying down on the beach that was right next to the hotel they were staying at. Lucifer and Lilith made sure everyone was wearing their sunscreen before placing their towels underneath their umbrellas. It was not until four hours later when everyone woke up and realized they fell asleep and burnt to a crisp. Everyone looked at their arms and legs before waking each other up and stood up from their chairs and towels.

“Guys! What time is it!?” Charlie asked frantically.

Vaggie looked at her phone to check the time. “It’s almost five o’clock! We should probably start booking dinner reservations!”

Everyone began packing up their beach supplies to walk back to the hotel. They wanted to eat at the hotel’s restaurant for the first night, since they saw that it was pretty nice and the twins were well-behaved enough in public places to take them to nicer places. Since Lucifer and Lilith were more well-known in the area, they booked the reservation in their names. Everyone showered and got dressed in their best summer clothes after Charlie and Vaggie put the twins in the tub for their bath. Once everyone was ready and Luci and Lilli changed into their cute dresses that Charlie and Vaggie bought for them for the vacation, everyone crowded out of the room to make it downstairs to the restaurant in time.

Once everyone made it to the restaurant and got seated, Charlie and Vaggie buckled the twins in the booster seats and everyone looked at their menus before ordering. After ordering, the crew began talking about their plan for their time in LuLu World.

“So, I know we will be spending all of tomorrow driving up to the hotel next to the park. I know that we can get the room for free since you own the park, Dad,” Charlie explained.

“Will we rotate who will be driving?” Vaggie asked.

“Absolutely; I’ll start if you’d like, and once I get tired, I’ll let whoever wants to take the wheel. So, Husk, no alcohol until we get to our room.”

Husk shrugged as everyone continued discussing the plans for the rest of the week. Charlie took out her phone to send everyone the link to the fast pass and the map of the waiting times for each ride so everyone could have a visual of what each wait time would be, both with and without the fast passes.

“We’re going to get our wristbands the morning of?” Angel asked.

“Yep; we should be getting them in the front once we give them our tickets.”

The crew continued discussing a possible route they will take for the day they will be at the park until their food is served. They continued discussing their plans as they ate, including where they were going for dinner that night.

“I was thinking we would go to the Be Our Guest Restaurant since the girls love it there. I got the reservation in advance since I know the reservations for the restaurant book very fast,” Lucifer explained.

“At least we were thinking ahead with that,” Lilith added.

The crew continued eating until it was time to get the check. Since they noticed that the Royal Family of Hell was being served, there was a fifty percent discount on the bill. Lucifer and Lilith offered to pay the dinner bill for that night, and Charlie and Vaggie made the decision to pay the dinner bill when they were at LuLu World. After the bill was paid, Charlie and Vaggie unbuckled Luci and Lilli from their booster seats and made their way back upstairs to their room. The twins took their pajamas out of their dresser in their room they shared with their mothers and put them on after undressing.

“Remember, girls, we have to sleep early tomorrow because we’re waking up early again to drive to LuLu World so we’ll be there for the next couple days,” Charlie explained to her daughters.

“I’m not going to be able to sleep!” Luci exclaimed.

“Me neither!” Lilli added.

“I know, we’re all going to have trouble sleeping tonight; but we need to get as much sleep as we can so we can drive tomorrow. You can still sleep in the car on the way,” Vaggie continued.

Luci and Lilli flopped onto the bed before Charlie and Vaggie tucked them in with the fluffy white quilts as the air conditioning filled the room with cool air. Charlie took out one of the twins’ books that they packed, since their nighttime routine needed to include a story before they went to sleep. Even with the story, it took ages for the twins to fall asleep. After Charlie and Vaggie kissed each other good night and tucked themselves in, Luci and Lilli continued tossing and turning in their bed, thinking about the fun they were going to have at LuLu World while celebrating their birthday there for the first time.

Everyone woke up at seven o’clock in the morning the next day and began getting dressed to prepare for their day-long road trip to LuLu World. Charlie and Vaggie took out Luci and Lilli’s outfits for the day as they woke them up to start the long day ahead. The twins put their little comfortable summer outfits on, made for long road trips, and everyone made their way out the hotel and stuffed themselves in the minivan Lucifer and Lilith rented for the week. Charlie and Vaggie buckled the twins in their car seats before everyone else came in.

The trip took about six hours to complete with stops for bathroom and snack breaks, with everyone rotating every half hour to let every adult get at least one chance to drive. Luci and Lilli spent most of the trip sleeping in their car seats and leaning on each other except for when it was time for bathroom breaks. Once they got to the resort, Charlie and Vaggie put the twins on the bed to sleep a little more until it was time for dinner. The six hour ride took massive lag on everyone that an extra nap before dinner was the best thing for them. Once everyone finished dinner, Charlie and Vaggie gave the twins their bath before changing them in their pajamas and everyone gathered near the television to watch a movie together. Since it was Luci and Lilli’s birthday coming up, everyone let them pick out the movie. In the middle of the movie, the twins fell asleep and once it was over, the rest of the crew made their way to their beds and Charlie and Vaggie tucked the twins in their beds. Tomorrow was going to be a big day, so they wanted to make sure that the girls were as rested as possible for a beautiful day in the park.

Everyone woke up as early as they could so they could make it to the park before opening time. The crew wore family shirts that Charlie customized for everyone so they could find each other in case someone gets lost. Plus, they were bright enough that in case the twins got lost, they could find any of the adults by just seeing the color of their shirts. The shirts were white that said “MORNINGSTAR ROYAL FAMILY VACATION” on them with big red letters with the castle below the words. Everyone went in front of the resort to wait for the monorail with everyone else that was going to the park before everyone boarded. After the monorail ride and checking into the park, it was time to have some birthday fun! Everyone started the day on the merry-go-round as a warm-up before going on the more intense rides. Charlie and Vaggie helped Luci and Lilli up on their horses and they found two horses near them so they could supervise them. Once the ride started, Luci and Lilli held hands as they giggled before Lucifer and Lilith held their phones up.

“Look at grandma and grandpa, girls! Smile!” Lucifer pointed out.

The twins looked to the left at their grandparents and smiled brightly as she took a picture of them. Charlie and Vaggie took their phones out to take more pictures of them.

“Girls! Look over here!” Charlie shouted.

Luci and Lilli looked over to their mothers and smiled before she took the picture. Charlie then leaned over to Vaggie to take a selfie with her on the merry-go-round and Vaggie did the same. Once the ride stopped, Charlie and Vaggie unbuckled the twins from their horses and began walking around the park.

“That was fun, mommy!” Luci announced.

“What should we do next?” Lilli added.

The crew kept walking as Charlie checked her phone to see where the lines were the shortest in the Fast Pass lanes. It looked like Jungle Cruise had the shortest line, with only a half hour wait time. They rushed to the attraction before the line could get any longer. Everyone boarded the boat once they got to the front of the line and everyone was able to fit. During the trip, Charlie decided to let smaller parties go in front of them if not everyone could fit in one session of the ride, or divide everyone into two parties if they were unable to do so; Charlie, Vaggie, Luci, Lilli, Lucifer, and Lilith in one party, and Alastor, Niffty, Angel, Husk, and Cherri in the other.

Once everyone boarded the boat, Luci and Lilli looked out of the boat to see the animals that would be on the journey. They pointed at the animals they saw and showed Charlie and Vaggie, not paying attention to what the skipper was saying.

“Mommy! Look! There’s an elephant!” Lilli announced.

Charlie and Vaggie looked at the animatronic elephants and took a picture of them playing in the water and squirting them out of their trunks. Angel and Husk took pictures of the twins sitting together in the boat and smiling at their uncles.

“I’m sure this is going to be their favorite ride?” Angel asked as the crew continued looking at and taking pictures of all the animals on the ride.

“They’re already so entranced with the animals that I don’t think we’ll be able to top this ride,” Vaggie replied.

The crew looked at the twins as they continued to excitedly point at every animal they saw and talked about them together. Once the boat made its way back to the deck, everyone boarded off and began walking again. Lucifer checked his phone to see if there were any lines for the fast past lane that were shorter than the other.

“How about we head to the Haunted Mansion? Their wait time is only forty minutes if we head over there now,” Lucifer pointed out.

“Are you sure it’s not going to scare the girls? It is pretty scary for kids around their age,” Vaggie mentioned.

“I’m sure they’re old enough to handle this ride now. We skipped it for the last few years to watch the girls, and I’m sure they would like to try it now,” Lilith explained.

“How about it, girls? Do you want to go ride on the Haunted Mansion?” Charlie asked.

“Yes! Yes!” Luci exclaimed while jumping up and down.

“We won’t be scared! We’ll be brave!” Lilli added.

The crew walked over to the Haunted Mansion to wait in line. After getting to the front of the line and going inside the mansion to see the spooky decor and pictures on the wall, they boarded their Doom Buggies, dividing themselves between two groups. Throughout the ride, the twins looked at all the ghosts in a trance the entire time, not scared at all. Charlie and Vaggie looked at their daughters while also enjoying the ride and the many ghosts they encountered throughout. After the ride was finished, everyone got off and Luci and Lilli could not stop talking about all the fun they had on the ride.

“Didn’t you see all those ghosts!? They were so cool!” Luci exclaimed.

“It was both spooky and funny! And we didn’t get scared at all!” Lilli added.

“That’s right! You girls were so brave!” Vaggie pointed out as she and Charlie scooped up their daughters and gave them a hug and a kiss.

“I’m thinking we should go on Small World next. The wait isn’t that long and I think the girls would enjoy it,” Alastor suggested.

“Sure thing! Let’s go!” Charlie said excitedly.

After the crew went on Small World, they took a break for lunch before going on a couple more rides before they could make their dinner reservation. They went on Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Splash Mountain before they took a picture in front of the castle together. Once the crew got seated at the Be Our Guest Restaurant, everyone talked about the day and how much fun they had.

“The Jungle Cruise was my favorite! I loved seeing the animals!” Lilli mentioned.

“Me too! I also loved Small World! It was really cool!” Luci added.

The crew continued talking throughout their meal before they ordered dessert and mentioned that it was the twins’ birthday. Once it was time for dessert, a big cake was brought out for the twins and the crew sang to them. Everyone got a piece of cake, along with their dessert, and continued talking about the day.

“I do think you girls were also very brave during the big drop at the end of Splash Mountain,” Alastor pointed out.

“Just as brave as you were during Haunted Mansion,” Niffty added.

“The drop was so much fun! I wanna do it again!” Lilli replied.

“We can go on it again when we come back next summer,” Lucifer negotiated.

Luci and Lilli cheered and took another bite of their cake and their ice cream. Charlie checked her phone to see what time it was.

“The Electrical Parade starts in about an hour. We’ll get going once we get the check so we can find a good place to watch the parade and the fireworks.”

Everyone agreed and finished their desserts. Once they got the check and Lucifer paid for everyone, the crew made their way out to go off to Main Street to find a spot to watch the parade. They found the perfect spot in the front of the crowd, and Charlie and Vaggie let Luci and Lilli sit on their laps to watch. As more people shuffled through the sidewalk for the parade and the sky got darker, the music started and it was time for the parade to begin!

The lights sparkled as the music continued playing. Luci and Lilli stared with wide eyes at all the floats that went by and the characters waved at them. The twins waved at the characters back as they continued laughing and dancing to the parade and every section of it. Charlie and Vaggie could not help but smile and take as many pictures and videos as they could of their daughters having the time of their lives. They knew their daughters were going to remember this birthday for the rest of their lives.

Once the parade ended, the crew made their way closer to the castle to watch the fireworks. Luci and Lilli pulled on Charlie and Vaggie’s arms to find the perfect spot to see them. They had so much fun at the parade that they were going to have just as much of a great time with the fireworks. Charlie and Vaggie each took a twin and put them on their shoulders so they could get a better view. There was another announcement before the fireworks, and the twins grabbed their mothers’ heads to contain the massive amounts of excitement they had inside them. They did not think they were going to top the fun and excitement they had during the parade, but once the fireworks started, they wanted to start screaming right then and there. The colors and lights were enough for the twins to be entranced from start to finish.

As the fireworks ended and everyone was shuffling out for the night, the hotel crew made their ways outside of the park to catch the final monorail for the night. Once the crew boarded the monorail, Luci and Lilli leaned on their mother’s chests.

“Mommy, this was the best day ever,” Luci mentioned before drifting to sleep on Charlie’s lap.

“I will remember this day forever,” Lilli added before drifting to sleep on Vaggie’s lap.

Charlie and Vaggie look at their daughters sound asleep, then at each other. They smiled and leaned on each other’s heads before falling asleep. Lucifer and Lilith noticed their daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters asleep together before Lucifer lightly tapped Charlie’s shoulder once they got back to the hotel.

“Psst. Hey; we’re here.”

Charlie and Vaggie woke up and held the twins in their arms so they would not wake them up on the way back to their room. Angel and Husk offered to hold the twins and carry them up to the room so Charlie and Vaggie did not have to hurt their backs while going back up. Once they got back into their room and tucked the girls in, Charlie and Vaggie tucked themselves in and snuggled with each other before falling asleep. They had a memorable trip to LuLu World every summer, but this year was one for the books.

Chapter Text

It was the last day of summer before the twins’ begin kindergarten, and Charlie and Vaggie planned a mini bonfire with their friends, and invited Emily, Sir Pentious, Destino, and Molly. Angel wanted to invite Molly to show her a project that he and Charlie have been planning since the twins’ birth. Charlie and Vaggie made a little pretend campfire for the children to hang around and eat their s’mores together.

Charlie and Vaggie invited Luci and Lilli’s preschool class, but Rachel, Mia, Sebastian, and Anthony were the only ones able to attend. Charlie also decided to invite Toby, since Luci and Lilli were talking about him the other day and missed him. The twins’ old classmates shuffled in one by one to greet everyone before the twins and their friends made their way to the lobby and talked with each other.

It was not long until Emily, Destino, Sir Pentious, and Molly knocked on the door and Charlie let them in. The Heaven crew said hi to the rest of Luci and Lilli’s friends and sat down at the bar to talk with each other. Before they could settle down, Angel asked Molly to close her eyes and he guided her to the middle of the lobby.

“Okay, you can open your eyes now,” Angel said once they stopped near the fireplace.

Molly opened her eyes to see a row of pictures from when she and Angel were babies until their eighteenth birthday in their “HE DID IT/SHE DID IT” shirts their mother gave them every year. The first picture was of them laying on the bed together smiling, the next two pictures were the same, but with them sitting up, but the last fifteen pictures were of them giving each other bunny ears and squishing their cheeks together while giggling and smiling their bright smiles. Underneath them were pictures of Luci and Lilli up until their most recent birthday wearing the same shirts Angel and Cherri got them in the exact same poses. Molly shed a tear once the surprise was revealed.

“Wow! Tony! I can’t believe you made this! Was this the surprise you were talking about?”

“Yep; Charlie and I wanted to make this and surprise you. Once the twins turn eighteen, we will invite you over so you can see the full thing.”

Molly’s tears turned into crying as she hugged her twin brother and Charlie. “This is one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me! Thank you!”

“You’re welcome, Molls.”

Everyone went back to the couch in the lobby to see the children talking with each other about their summers and what was going to happen when they started kindergarten the next day. Charlie and the rest of the adults sat down with them to talk with them.

“Mommy! Did you tell everyone about our trip to LuLu World?” Lilli asked.

“I was just about to let Vaggie tell everyone. I’m going to get the bonfire I made so we can get started on making the s’mores,” Charlie replied.

She went upstairs to her room to get the bonfire she and the rest of the crew made the day before Vaggie sat between Lucifer and Lilith to talk about the trip to LuLu World the crew went to for the twins’ fifth birthday.

“We had such an amazing time! The girls rode on the Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain for the first time and they had a blast!” Vaggie explained.

“Were they scared at all?” Rachel’s mother asked.

“No, they were very brave throughout the entire thing. Charlie and I are so proud of them!”

Everyone kept talking until Charlie came back downstairs with the bonfire she and the rest of the crew made out of construction paper, colored cellophane, and a light bulb in the middle of it to emulate the glow of the fire.

“I’ll get everyone their marshmallows and we can all roast them together,” Charlie mentioned.

What she planned to do was give the children a stick with a marshmallow so they could pretend to roast them. After that, Charlie and Niffty would put the marshmallows in the microwave with the graham crackers and the chocolate to make s’mores for everyone. It was the best way the children could have this experience without anyone getting hurt. Plus, it lets their imaginations run wild.

Once Charlie gave each child a stick with a marshmallow and the adults got theirs, the conversation continued about the trip to LuLu World.

“Did you tell them about your first time riding the Haunted Mansion?” Charlie asked.

“Yep! Mommy was just telling everyone about it!” Luci replied.

“I was just telling everyone about how brave they were when riding the Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain,” Vaggie added.

“Which one was your favorite?” Rachel asked.

Charlie and Vaggie looked at Rachel once she asked the question. Her speech and vocabulary was growing so much that the crew could not help but ask her for a hug for such an amazing milestone.

“We liked the Jungle Cruise the best! We saw so many animals!” Lilli replied.

The parents figured that ride would have been the twins’ favorite, since their love for animals was something they got from their mothers and grandparents.

“Did you also enjoy Small World? Your mothers were telling us the other day that you had fun on that one too,” Mia’s father mentioned.

“Yes! The ride was so much fun and we loved singing the song too!” Luci answered.

The girls began singing the song as the rest of their friends joined in. Charlie, Vaggie, and the rest of the crew could not help but also join in. Destino already knew the song in Spanish, so Vaggie sang along with him with the Spanish lyrics.

“Are you girls ready for your s’mores?” Charlie asked. The children cheered once Charlie mentioned the s’mores. “I’ll get them all ready for you all.”

Charlie and Niffty made their way to the kitchen with everyone’s marshmallows as the rest of the crew and children continued talking about their summers and how excited they were to start kindergarten.

“Our teacher is going to be Ms. Alvarez!” Lilli started.

“We can’t wait to be in her class tomorrow!” Luci added.

“I’m sure you’re gonna have so much fun. Y’know, when your uncle Anthony and I were your age, we ended up getting different teachers for kindergarten and we were so upset. We did not wanna be separated. We cried so much on our first day of school! But our mom told us that we will still see each other during lunch and recess, and we’ll still find each other at the end of the day. You two are very lucky to still be in the same class for your first year of school,” Molly explained to the twins.

Luci and Lilli sat on the couch to hug Molly and Angel after she told the story. “I’m pretty sure I cried much harder than you did,” Angel added.

“Thank you for telling us that, Aunt Molly,” Lilli said.

“I hope uncle Anthony can comfort us if that happens next year,” Luci added.

“Don’t worry, we’ll all comfort you,” Angel replied.

Once the conversation was over, Charlie and Niffty came back with everyone’s s’mores. Everyone grabbed one and began eating them as they continued talking about their summer vacations.

“So, how was all of your trips to LuLu World? I know you mentioned going to celebrate the girls’ graduation,” Lucifer started.

“We also had such an amazing time! Rachel was also brave enough to ride on the Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain and she had a blast!” Rachel’s mother mentioned.

“We also had a great time, although Mia was saying how much her mother would’ve loved to be there right now. She still misses her mother, but she still had a great time,” Mia’s father continued.

“We were planning on asking you, how have you two been since your wife’s death? I’m sure this summer has been rough for both of you,” Lilith replied.

“It has been, but our GoFundMe campaign has just reached its goal last week. So we have just enough funds to get us through another six months before I find another job. My mother was able to find a cheaper apartment closer to us so she could be more involved with our family and pick Mia up from school.”

Everyone smiled before they finished eating their s’mores and Charlie popped a DVD into the player on top of their television. Before everyone left for the night, Charlie and Vaggie wanted to play the twins’ PreK slide show for everyone. Their center director gave the entire graduating class a DVD slideshow of all the pictures of them from the last two school years. As everyone watched all the pictures from all the class parties, spirit days, and events throughout the last two school years, the children talked about all the memories they had at Little Devil’s Preschool and the new memories they were going to make at their new schools.

“I forgot to ask you, where is Toby going to school for kindergarten?” Charlie asked.

“He’s going to the Community School. We found a program for him there that I think he will do amazing in,” Toby’s mother mentioned.

Rachel’s eyes lit up when she heard that Toby was going to go to the same school as her. Her mother moved closer to Toby’s to talk more.

“That’s where Rachel is going to go! We need to carpool this year. Rachel is already pretty happy that she knows someone that will be going to the same school.”

Both Rachel and Toby’s mothers continued talking about the plans for the school year as the rest of the crew continued watching the slide show of all the pictures from the past two years. Once the DVD was finished, Charlie put the disk back and everyone began shuffling out of the hotel. As Luci and Lilli said goodbye to their friends, the adults said goodbye to each other and took their children to head home. After the twins’ friends left the hotel, Emily, Sir Pentious, Molly, and Destino hugged everyone goodbye and the twins ran up to them and squeezed them as tightly as they could.

“Gracias, abuelo; esperamos verte pronto de nuevo,” Luci started.

“Regresaré para Acción de Gracias. Buena suerte en tu primer día de jardín de infantes,” Destino replied.

“Gracias, abuelo,” Lilli finished.

“Will you send us pictures of the twins on their first day of kindergarten?” Sir Pentious asked.

“We’ll send plenty of pictures, and we’ll make sure to tell you how their day went,” Charlie replied.

“Well, we had an amazing time today. Thank you for inviting us to celebrate the twins’ last day of summer before kindergarten,” Emily stated.

“You’re welcome, Emily; we want you to know that you’re all welcome at any time.”

“And thank you again, Tony, for that amazing surprise. Make sure to update us on it as the girls get older,” Molly added.

“Don’t worry, we will,” Cherri Bomb interrupted.
The Heaven crew gave everyone one more hug before it was time for them to get going. Once everyone left the hotel, the crew went upstairs so they could start getting the twins ready for bed.

“We’ll let grandma and grandpa give you your bath tonight since I know you love when grandpa gives you their rubber duckies,” Vaggie mentioned.

“And I’ll read the Look Out, Kindergarten, Here I Come book to you girls once we get your pajamas on,” Charlie added.

Luci and Lilli hugged their mothers, aunts, uncles, and grandparents as they went upstairs together to begin their nighttime routine. Within the last five years, the twins have grown so much that Charlie and Vaggie could not help but shed a tear. It felt like only yesterday that the twins were just born, in Charlie’s arms at the hospital. Now, they were just about to begin their first day of kindergarten the morning before. But there were so many more milestones to come for the twins that they did not want to rush what was already in front of them. They wanted to enjoy every moment with them before it was all gone.
