Chapter 1: Prologue
Chapter Text
July 31, 1975
It was a joyous day for the Malfoy family. Narcissa has given birth to a new member of the family, Callisto Severus Malfoy. They have decided to put Severus Snape’s name as their baby’s middle name as an honor for appointing him as Callisto’s Godfather. The baby boy was a perfect mix of the two couple, but more like his mother than his father. Draco was standing nearby, looking curiously over at his new baby brother in his tired mother’s arms.
”Is he my new brother? Can he play Quidditch with me!” Draco asked excitedly, already smiling and jumping with joy. Lucius had to hold him back before Draco could startle Callisto awake.
”Not now, son. He’s still small and fragile, you must wait until he’s a lot more older” Lucius explained as he picked up the pouting Draco and placed him on a nearby chair.
Narcissa merely held Callisto lovingly in her arms, exhausted but delighted. After Draco, the doctor was certain that Narcissa wouldn’t have another child, no matter how hard they tried the last five years. The last time Narcissa was pregnant after Draco, she suffered a severe miscarriage. And now Callisto was born just a few years after the incident. He was truly her miracle baby, in every sense of the way.
Eventually, Nurse Joanna entered the private room that was specially designed for the Malfoy family. She had to take Callisto to another room for a checkup to make sure the baby boy is healthy. Narcissa was reluctant, but eventually gave in and gave the baby over to Nurse Joanna.
2 Hours Later
”Father, when is that blasted nurse going to come back? Didn’t she say that checkup won’t be that long?” Draco complained, already so bored and irritated.
It has been a long time, and they mostly thought that it was just a delay or something else. It was getting suspiciously too long for just a mere checkup, even on a newborn.
”I don’t know, dragon. Don’t worry, I’ll go see what is the hold up” Lucius reassured, patting Draco on the head and giving Narcissa a kiss on the forehead.
Lucius had asked the other staff about where Nurse Joanna whereabouts with their son, but nobody knew a Nurse Joanna. Not even the receptionist knew who Nurse Joanna is, especially not with a last name like hers. It was at this moment that Lucius realized that this “nurse” had deliberately kidnapped their miracle baby boy right under their noses. It wasn’t long until Lucius demanded a full search in and out of the hospital immediately.
When Narcissa received the news, she was heartbroken and devastated, sobbing nonstop on the bed. She was too weak to get up, but she wants to find her baby. Draco didn’t know what was going on but wanted to help too if it involved his little brother that he wanted for so long. Unfortunately, the “nurse” has already escaped long gone during those 2 hours, leaving the security guards in St. Mungo no clues whatsoever.
Their baby boy was long gone…
On the other end, Dumbledore held the sleeping Callisto in his arms as Joanna soon departed. He casted a few spells and charms, changing the baby’s appearance so abruptly to the point where he cried. Then, Dumbledore dropped the now changed baby to the Dursley’s cupboard under the stairs, changing their memories to make it seem like they had Callisto since he was a baby. All of this, just so that Dumbledore can have his narratives across the Magical World of light and dark. He always wanted to build a world of his own for his own enjoyment, so why not start with Callisto Severus Malfoy…now Harry James Potter.

Chapter Text
The Dursleys love their normalcy. A working husband, a stay-at-home wife, and a growing boy. It was everything they could’ve wanted…until Harry came along. They wouldn’t dare touch him, not wanting to sully their hands with any of that freakiness. So they would often lock him up, only letting him out to do extensive chores. Luckily, the Dursleys were out of town, going to America for the entire year for family and business. Harry was left alone in his cupboard, talking absentmindedly to the spiders that seemed to be fond of him, despite their six beady eyes.
”Mister Spidey, do you know how to get out?” Harry asked the crawling spider on his finger. Mrs. Figgs won’t be watching over him right now since she’s “busy”, but the Dursleys doesn’t need to know that.
Suddenly, the door to his cupboard door unlocked by itself, confusing Harry. Nonetheless, at least he was free. He carefully placed the spider back in its web before walking out of the cupboard. There was a singular mail that fell out of the mail hole, or whatever it’s called. Harry went over to pick it up, seeing his name. Which was surprising considering that Harry never received any letters until now.
Harry opened the mail and unfolded the letter, his eyes widening the more he read through it.
HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore
(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)
Dear Mr. Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1st September. We await your owl by no later than 31st July.
Yours Sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
(Deputy Headmistress)
To Harry, this must be some kind of joke played by Dudley’s friends around the neighborhood. But the handwriting looks far too neat to be any one of them. Harry to the list out, looking over at the necessities and school supplies of what he needs. Also the locations as well. Although, Harry has never heard of Diagon Alley before.
Harry exit the house, only in his oversized sweater and pants he received as Dudley’s hand-me-downs. Harry followed the map that was tucked away in the envelope that this McGonagall lady graciously put in for children who don’t know. The journey was weird, his first stop at a bar with a barkeep called Tom and the next a brick wall that magically opened up to him.
Harry’s first stop was ‘Gringrotts’, which was what that barkeep told him. The magical bank was overrun with goblins, and Harry was immediately nervous by the scary-looking creatures. He approached one of the desk, where a bored goblin was currently residing. The name tag signing ‘Griphook’.
”Name?” Drawled Griphook, who barely looked at Harry.
“Uhm…Harry…Harry Potter…”
Griphook looked at the small boy unconvincingly, eyes narrowed in suspicions. He signaled for another goblin to check any members of the Potter family, while Harry looked on in confusion and nervousness. It didn’t take long for the goblin to go over the family tree of the Potter line with a book of all pure-blood families. Though, there was no Harry Potter. The only child of the Potter family was Heracles James Potter. Heracles was chosen by James, obviously, after hearing Greek mythology from his lovely wife, Lily Potter, formerly Evans.
There was a few small talks between the two goblins before Griphook eventually led Harry Potter to another room instead of the railroad leading to the banks. Harry himself was confused, but didn’t want to say anything because he doesn’t know much about the magical world.
Griphook had Harry to seat himself on the chair as the goblin scouted through what seems like to be his office. A minute later, he came back with a blank parchment and a small dagger.
“Draw your blood on this parchment here, kid. Only two drops”
Harry was suddenly nervous, having a fear of sharp objects after he accidentally cut himself one time while cooking dinner and got in big trouble. Nonetheless, Harry was also scared to object against the goblin, so he did what the goblin told him to do and lightly prick his index finger, allowing two drops of blood to fall on the blank parchment. Suddenly, a sort of family tree appeared on the magical paper, but it was not the Potter tree. It was a Malfoy tree.
Callisto Severus Malfoy (Age-6)
Father: Lucius Abraxas Malfoy (Alive)
Mother: Narcissa Dolores Malfoy, née Black (Alive)
Siblings: Draco Lucius Malfoy (Alive)
Paternal Grandfather: Abraxas Orion Malfoy (Alive)
Paternal Grandmother: Evelyn Soma Malfoy, née Yaxley (Alive)
Maternal Grandfather: Cygnus Elias Black (Alive)
Maternal Grandmother: Druella Ellen Black, née Rosier, (Alive)
Godparents: Severus Tobias Snape (Alive)
Harry stared at the parchment paper in shock and confusion. Who are these people? And if they were his family why did they abandon him? So many questions raced through his mind, none of them making any sense for his mind. It was all so confusing.
Although, while Harry was occupied, Griphook summoned the Malfoy’s goblin, Goldenrod. They talked for a few minutes, probably summarizing the whole situation while Harry was distracted. Then Goldenrod eventually left the office, already thinking of what to write to the Malfoy family. After all, it is time for Callisto to come back home to them at least after 6 years.
Chapter 3: Getting Supplies
Summary:
Harry, or now Callisto, went shopping by himself. After all, he isn’t the one to wait in a foreign place, even if his so-called “real family” is coming.
Notes:
Who would’ve thought I’ll already be losing motivation every time I write this fanfic. Does this happen to all authors and writers who writes fanfics?
Chapter Text
While Griphook was going over through some files about Callisto’s situation, the boy himself managed to sneak away with his small stature. He learned from a very young age to never trust a stranger or stay in a foreign place too long, so it was best to leave while he can. Though, the Malfoy family won’t be too happy of course. But Callisto remains oblivious to that fact.
Callisto walked out of Gringotts Bank, looking over at the list of things he needs to get for this magical school he’s apparently going to. Most of the things in the list sounds like something you can find in a fairy tale book about witches and wizards. But, in this situation, that’s what Callisto is now. He can manage trying to figure out everything in this strange but new world by himself, he always had. Even if the currency is new and the shops here look…distorted, Callisto can manage with his mature mind despite his young age.
The first stop was Madam Malkin’s Robe Shop, apparently a store dedicated to robes. Callisto entered inside and waited, looking around curiously but quietly. There were other kids his age, trying on the bland, black robes. They must be going to the same school as him as well. One kid sat down next to him, waiting for another kid to finish the measuring.
”Hey, the name’s Jason. Jason Mark,” the boy sitting beside Callisto said, offering his hand for a shake. From the accent, Jason is most definitely American. His family must’ve moved here recently.
“Uhm, H-Harry. Harry Potter…” Callisto said, shaking his hand. He’d rather still be using that name in case his ‘real’ family finds him. He is still not convince his real family could be nice people. After all, they abandoned him, didn’t they? Otherwise, why else would they leave him at a bad family’s place for so long.
“I heard that there are four different houses in this Hogwarts school when I was eavesdropping on some group of British kids. I think they said Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. I don’t know what those house personally represent or how we’re sorted. But me, personally, I’d rather be in Hufflepuff because they have a honey badger as their mascot. And I like honey badgers, I think they’re badass,” Jason said with a smile, crossing his arms across his chest as he smiled at Callisto.
Callisto just nodded his head with a small smile, turning to look at the list again. The other kid Jason was waiting for finished his measuring, making her way over to them.
”Hey, Jase, who’s the kid beside you?” The girl said, gesturing towards Callisto.
”He said his name was Harry Potter”
“Sup’, the names Veronica Winslow,” the girl, now known as Veronica, introduced herself with a smile.
“Nice to meet you” Callisto said politely, nodding his head in return.
“Anyways, we gotta go now. Have to get these other things for that school. We’ll see you later, Harry” Veronica said as Jason stood up to follow her. Callisto waved back, standing up from his seat as he went on the pedestal for his turn on measuring.
”WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN MY BABY IS GONE!!? AGAIN!” Narcissa shrieked, holding Griphook by the collar of his suit. The family was excited to see their long, lost baby boy again only to be crushed that he disappeared again.
“I-I apologize, Madam Malfoy. He was just here not long ago and then I turned away for a minute and found him gone from his seat” Griphook said as Lucius managed to pull Narcissa back. Draco was seated on another chair, already sad and heartbroken. He long for a little sibling, but Narcissa became infertile permanently after Callisto was born. And now his one and only baby brother is gone too.
“Where has our baby gone to? Surely he hasn’t gone that far” Lucius inquired, placing a calming hand on Narcissa’s shoulder as she cried her eyes out. Callisto was their miracle baby, their hope. And they were so close to finding him after years only to find him gone again.
“We can’t say for certain, Lord Malfoy. But he must be around Diagon Alley. Although, we didn’t have the chance to lift the appearance charm off of Callisto, so he must still be in his disguise. His fake name is Harry Potter”
Lucius only nodded his head before standing up and leading Narcissa away from the office, Draco trailing along. First, they need to gather Draco’s school supplies before all the good stuff goes out. Then, perhaps, maybe they’ll hear any whispers of their lost son under the guise of Harry Potter. All they know is that James Potter only has one son, Heracles.
As they were shopping in Flourish and Blotts, Draco was looking around the higher-level section, wanting to surpass his classes once he starts Hogwarts. So far, they heard none. Not a whisper. But, they might find Callisto once he starts Hogwarts, even if he is far too young to even start Hogwarts. But Draco would soon find his baby brother, all he has to do is search and hear the name Harry Potter.
Chapter 4: Sorting
Summary:
Callisto has his supplies, his owl, and now going to Hogwarts
Notes:
Writers block is DIFFICULT so this is more rushed like my other chapters
Chapter Text
Callisto, or Harry, managed to find a way to avoid going back to the Dursleys, somehow managing to stay with a friend. Despite Dudley’s effort in making sure Harry has no friends, there was one girl that remained steadfast in their friendship and even fought off Dudley’s gang throughout their childhood.
Mahina Kaʻanāʻanā.
From what she told Harry, she was Micronesian. But she mostly speaks English and little understand Pohnpeian, much to her disappointment due to the fact that her mother didn’t bother teaching her the language. Her mother only gave her that name so that she’ll somewhat feel connected to her origins, despite it being mainly Polynesian.
“So…you’re a wizard?” Mahina questioned, not out of judgment or fear, just curiosity. Harry always tells Mahina everything since she’s his first friend.
”Apparently so. And now I am also some kind of lost child of a different family. I think the parchment papers said the Malfoy family? I don’t know, the names sounds fancy”
”Damn, so what are you gonna do now?”
”I guess I just have to…go with the flow”
Mahina giggled at that, handing Harry a Spam Musabi. Go With The Flow. A phrase that Mahina always says. She wasn’t ambitious at life. She didn’t want to survive, find a job, or have everything planned out. She just lives. She just wants to…go with the flow in life.
Soon enough, it was time for Harry to leave. Mahina was the only one watching him leave on the train. She was mature for her age, being the same age range as Harry, but she was still a friend.
Hedwig chirped rather sadly from her cage. The snowy owl likes Mahina, especially with how coddling she is towards the owl. But at least the owl have Harry to take care of her.
Harry himself managed to find an empty compartment, at the far end of the train carts. That way, he doesn’t have to face anybody or encounter any members of that Malfoy family. Who knows what they’re like or why they even change his appearance and have him placed with the Dursleys.
Luckily, the train ride has been quiet for Harry, except for a bushy-haired girl and a nervous-looking boy asking for a lost toad. Nonetheless, everything has been silent. It was exactly what Harry wanted, petting Hedwig, reading the books for the semesters, and NOT encountering anyone.
By the time they reached their destination, Harry was sad to let Hedwig go but had to. He got into a boat with three other boys, but they were busy talking to each other. Hogwarts itself was beautiful, a castle straight out of a fantasy book.
Harry mainly remained disassociated, often looking around aimlessly and hardly listening to an old woman leading them inside the castle. Thankfully, nobody noticed him as he mostly had his bangs covering his scar that was supposedly famous in the wizarding world.
Harry only got out of his disassociation when he heard clapping and found himself standing in a grand hall with four tables and an…old, talking hat?
He disassociated again, looking out of space as the voices started to muffle around me. He was snapped out of his trance when he heard his name being called. Has time really moved that fast?
Nonetheless, he moved towards the old hat, picking it up, sat down, and put it on his head.
“Well, hello Mister Potter. Or, shall I say, Mister Malfoy?”
Harry only shrugged, uninterested, bored even.
“Ah, a rather unfeeling child, eh? Well, Slytherin is off the list, seeing how you’re unambitious in life. Gryffindor might do well, but you don’t exactly like people that much and prefer to work behind the scenes. Hufflepuff perhaps? Or maybe even Ravenclaw? Your just, yes…but only to people who deserves it. Maybe Hufflepuff might be the answer for you. Yes…your just and still a kind child under that unfeeling persona of yours…hmm….HUFFLEPUFF!”
There were gasps, but Harry just assumed they were because they thought he’d end up in Gryffindor like his parents. Or fake parents? He doesn’t know, nor does he care.
Damn, Mahina’s way of life really is inserted into Harry. Considering how Mahina genuinely doesn’t care about anything but cares for everybody in her own quiet way. People see her as lazy due to how…bored she looks. But she truly does make an effort to people she cares for, like Harry.
The Hufflepuff table clapped loudly, which soon brought other people to clap as well. Harry noticed a platinum blonde hair boy clapping rather dejectedly, and from looking at him, he’s a Malfoy.
He’ll avoid him for sure.
The feast went on as usual, although Harry mainly goes off into a trance, absentmindedly greeting people with a small smile. The meal was great, but he still missed Mahina’s cooking, especially her mother’s cooking as well.
Oh how Harry misses Spam Musabi…
