Chapter Text
It was an unusually chilly morning for July. A month that typically scorched like the sun itself was trying to burn through your skin. The sudden coolness was strange, almost unsettling.
Yumeko stepped out of the dormitory, immediately noticing the unexpected absence of heat in the air. She had always been particularly sensitive to high temperatures so much so that she never left her room without slathering on layers of sunscreen.
But today… today was different. And she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
“Jabami.”
A sharp cold familiar voice rang out behind her, the voice everyone in the school could’ve noticed instantly.
Yumeko paused, “President Kira. How unexpected, what’s the matter?”
A lightly smirk appeared on her lips, “What a coincidence seeing you in such a morning, the sun hasn’t even risen yet.”
“Mmm… I woke with a feeling I couldn’t ignore. The air felt different today. Don’t you think the weather is… oddly thrilling?”
“I know…” Kira stopped for a second “…thrilling indeed.”
Yumeko tilted her head again, her long hair catching the breeze. “You don’t usually roam around at this hour. Should I be honored?” A sly smile tugged at her lips.
A pause. Then Kirari’s pale fingers reached out, brushing a stray lock of hair from Yumeko’s face not quite a touch, more a gesture, like tracing the edge of a chess piece before a move. “Perhaps you should.”
The academy’s awfully quiet when the sun hasn’t risen,” Kira murmured, voice almost dreamy. “It makes you wonder… what else might stir before the rest of the world wakes?”
Yumeko chuckles, the sound soft but edged with excitement. “Are you trying to tempt me into another gamble, President?” Yumeko’s eyes sparkled, her deep-colored eyes met with Kira’s crystalline blue gaze. Heart pounding, so loud it might burst out her chest at any moment. “Or is this something more… personal?”
“What if it’s both?”
Silence lingered between them. The wind rustled the leaves above like an audience holding its breath.
“You’re better not be playing with me right now, president.” They locked eyes to eyes. No blinking, just staring into each other.
Kira stepped closer, the space between them shrinking. Kira walked around yumeko in a circle, the fabric of her blazer brushing faintly as she passed. Teasing enough to make Yumeko feel unsettling. Her voice was low, almost a whisper,
“Maybe I’m always playing with you.”her breath just grazing Yumeko’s shoulder as she passed behind her.
Her eyes bore into Yumeko’s, sharp and unwavering, daring her to call the bluff.
Yumeko’s lips parted slightly,
“I see it now,” she whispered, almost to herself. “You’re testing me.”
“Could be…”
“Tell me,” Yumeko whispered, watching the girl standing in front of her, not so far away. Their roles reversed like the turn of a wheel,
“what’s your real gamble, President? are you scared I might actually be better than you?” A slight pause and a smirky smile shows up on Yumeko’s lips. “Is that why you keep trying to pull me under your control? It almost like you want to own me instead of beating me, president.”
She let the words hang in the air like perfume, her gaze locked on Kira’s.
“Tell me, does it thrill you to think of me obeying your every word, or does it scare you that I never will?”
Kira didn’t flinch. She stood still, a smile rising from her face.
“You think I want to own you?” she murmured, taking a step closer. “That would imply you could ever be tamed.” Kira’s fingers brushed lightly against the delicate chain of Yumeko’s house pet necklace.
“No, Yumeko,” Kira said, her voice like velvet wrapped around steel. “I don’t want to control you. That would be far too easy.”
“I want you wild. Unpredictable. Addictive. Just like you are now.”
Chapter 2: Office table
Summary:
Without a break Yumeko slipped a word,“But don’t get cocky,” she added, her grin curling wicked at the edges. “This isn’t surrender, President. This is me letting you play… just long enough to think you’re winning.”
Chapter Text
Yumeko tilted her head slightly, allowing Kira’s fingers to linger a moment longer against the cold metal of the necklace. Her smile curved, slow and wicked, as if the contact had only fueled her thrill.
Without breaking eye contact, she guided it down… pressing Kira’s palm flat against her chest, right over her racing heart.
“Feel that?” she whispered, voice silky and low. “That’s what you do to me.”
Kira stared at her, hand still firm against Yumeko’s chest, her own pulse finally betraying the control she so carefully guarded. She scared Yumeko will notice, not because she afraid but she doesn’t want to lose.
Without a break Yumeko slipped a word, “But don’t get cocky,” she added, her grin curling wicked at the edges. “This isn’t surrender, President. This is me letting you play… just long enough to think you’re winning.”
Kira didn’t pull away.
Her hand remained pressed against Yumeko’s chest, fingers instinctively curling, feeling the wild thrum of her heartbeat. It was erratic. Addictive. Unsettling in all the ways Kira tried not to let anything be.
“I’ll never know what you’re thinking, Yumeko,” Kira said.
“Maybe that’s why you like me,” Yumeko replied softly, “Because no one ever plays you like I do.”
Kira’s gaze flicked briefly past Yumeko’s shoulder.
She’d spotted a few students slipping out of the dorm entrance at the end of the hall.
She didn’t want witnesses. Not for this.
Kira turned on her heel.
“Follow me,” she said, tone flat but edged with something deeper.
———
Moments later, the grand double doors of the Student Council President’s office closed behind them with a resonant thud.
Kira didn’t even looked at Yumeko at first, just slowly leading to her table before she finally turned.
“Sit,” she said,
Yumeko didn’t.
“Ordering me around again?” Yumeko responded to the order of the other girl. “You really do like pretending you’re the one in charge.”
Kira laughed, “No games this time,” she said quietly. “Not today.”
“Then what is it today, President?” Yumeko whispered. Eyes wider as if they see a perfect prey to capture. “A confession? A gamble? Or something you don’t even know how to name? Tell me.”
Chapter 3: Pets

Kira didn’t respond at first, lost in thought, trying to find a perfect word to come out of her mouth.
Then, she spoke. Not a single hesitation in her voice.
“You underestimate my power in this school, Yumeko.”
Yumeko’s eyes gleamed. “Mm… power. What a choice of word, president.”
Kira’s gaze didn’t waver.
She wasn’t done just yet.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, the hint of steel slipping into her tone.
“There’s no gamble here. Not anymore. I don’t play by your rules.”
Yumeko’s smile twitched. “Then you’re already losing.”
A pause.
Kira’s smile turned razor-sharp. Her blue-painted lips stood out vividly against the dim, low-lit room, an intentional contrast, impossible to ignore.
“You’re an interesting lady, Yumeko.”
Yumeko tilted her head slightly, lips curving.
“Mm… you’d say that.”
She let the words hang there, tasting their meaning. “You don’t know whether to admire me… or break me.”
“I’m not sure there’s a difference.”
Yumeko slowly walked to the edge of the table and sit there, one leg crossed the other. “I’m just teasing you.”
Kira stood in silence, watching the long-haired girl every steps.
“You’re… inconvenient,” Kira murmured, gaze flicking away for the briefest second.
“A distraction I keep choosing not to ignore.”
Yumeko leaned in slightly, breath catching the edge of Kira’s jawline.
“You’re challenging me—“
Yumeko hasn’t finished her sentence. But got disrupted by a loud sound.
Then—
The door creaked open.
A beat.
Footsteps.
“President? Sorry to interrupt—” One of Kira’s house pet’s voice entered the room with calm efficiency,
She stopped.
Frozen mid-sentence.
Kira usually keeps her little pets close, not for advantage but for joy. She sees them only as that, and the worst part? They like it. They obey her without question.
———
Yumeko, poised on the edge of Kira’s desk, legs crossed like she belonged there.
And Kira, standing dangerously close, too close.
The girl shocked, expression flickered. A tight pause.
“…Should I come back later?”
Kira didn’t shift.
“No. You’re fine.”
Yumeko didn’t move either.
The silence between them pulsed, heavy with something unspoken.
The girl’s eyes lowered the moment they met Kira’s. Not in fear, but in practiced submission. Kira had own her soul, her body. She knows her place.
Like a pet that loyal its owner. Nothing more or less.
“I saw the door was slightly open,” she said softly. “I just came to check if you were here…” the girl stay neat, almost quiet. “Also, I brought the schedule documents.”
She barely acknowledged Yumeko, only glancing at her as one might glance at a girl that wasn’t supposed to be in the room.
“Just place them on the desk and go.” Kira remained seated, unbothered.
Yumeko slowly turned her head, watching the girl with a half-smile, half-smirk.
The girl placed a file gently on the desk and stepped back, hands folded behind her back like she’d done this hundreds of times. Like this was her role, and she wore it proudly. She walked out of the room without any questions.
Not because she didn’t want to know.
But because wanting didn’t matter. Not to her.
Yumeko raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
“She always this quiet?” she asked Kira, eyes flicking toward the girl standing in front of her.
“She doesn’t speak unless I told her to,” Kira replied.
Yumeko laughed softly. “That sounds horrible,” she said, turning back to Kira. “She can’t even talk without your permission?”
“She likes being owned.”
Kira’s fingers tapped once against the desk. Eyes glanced up to Yumeko.
“She understands her place, unlike you.”
