Chapter 1: Icon and a Before and After Fashion

I've been calling these two SatoMichi for a while and I've also got a playlist for them. Two actually. LMAO

This one is the "Before" and "After" of Michiko's transformation from living with her mother and dressing how she wants.
Middle School Michiko is right and current Michiko is left.

This one is based off of their clothes in "Upon Reflection". The tag hanging of Michiko's hair accessory is an 'avoidance of evil' Omamori tag/Amulet from a temple

Our trio! Gosh Kirara and Kinji truly suffer from starring in a highschool romance while Michiko is a back ground characters so she's never really with them AHHAHA??

These three totally went places together more often early on. Gojo would probably be the one taking the picture in this and the previous one:

Kirara very much helped Michiko get the first bit of her hair off and then they went to a salon for the details. Michiko also helped home bleach Kirara's hair that first time!

Gonna be real, Biblically Accurate Height Difference is absolutely sending me. Would you believe me if I told you that they are holding the SAME cup copy/pasted? 

 

 

Did you read the time travel fic in the original series? This is sorta based on the idea of them BOTH going back and being a nightmare. 

 

 

Notes:

It's just so important to me that Michiko is a sort of a subversion of the "Pretty all along" trope. So she wears make up, is fashionable, and isn't afraid to let Gojo spend money on her cause it's his money to spend. She beats some serious tropes and I'm always thrilled to think about how funny she is for it!

Older art but a piece where I decided to showcase my favorite heroine in a dubious relationship! 

This is a newer take on the romantic horror concept. If the first piece was about the feeling of 'eyes wide shut and happily vulnerable' then this one is about Michiko cutting off her hair being symbolically linked to cutting off her past and Gojo represented by the butterfly with six eyes 'helping her' but going too far. 

Notes:

I love them but at the end of the day, mainline Michiko and NSW Michiko is still a victim of an older man.

I love drawing Gojo in his street clothes and I love drawing Michiko in her kimonos... so why not both?
