Chapter 1: Alleyway Rumble.
Chapter Text
Alleyway Rumble
"Huh, what the hell?"
The world swam into focus for Subaru Natsuki as if he’d just surfaced from a murky dream. One moment, the fluorescent hum of the convenience store and the enticing aroma of microwaved karaage; the next, the rough feel of cobblestones beneath his worn sneakers and a dizzying assault of unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells.
"Where am I?"
He wandered aloud as, ornate buildings with unfamiliar architecture towered over narrow streets teeming with people, and some doesn't look like your typical people passing by dressing in what looked suspiciously like historical cosplay. Horse-drawn? No more like dinosaurs drawn carriages clattered by, their wheels echoing against the stone, and the air was thick with the mingled scents of spices he couldn’t identify and something vaguely floral.
“Okay, okay, calm down, Subaru,” he mumbled, his voice sounding strangely loud in the bustling environment. He clutched the plastic bag containing his emergency stash of potato chips – a comforting, if utterly useless, anchor to his previous life as he realized.
“This has gotta be some kind of… ultra-realistic street performance? Or maybe I finally cracked and this is the isekai anime I’ve always secretly wanted? Except… it feels way too real.” He tentatively poked a finger at a passing banner adorned with intricate symbols. The fabric felt coarse and authentic.
"Outch!"
He pinched the back of his hand, a sharp sting confirming the unwelcome reality. Not a dream. Not a prank. Just… this.
—Wow so I'm really in another world
Lost in his internal crisis, he found himself drawn down a dimly lit alleyway, the boisterous sounds of the main thoroughfare softening to a rhythmic clanging and a muffled grunt.
"I wonder what's going on out there...well only one way to find out"
His innate curiosity, a trait that had often landed him in trouble back home, tugged him deeper into the shadows.
"...This is"
The scene that unfolded before him was bizarre, to say the least. A girl of ethereal beauty, with long, flowing silver hair that seemed to capture and reflect the scant light, stood with an air of focused intensity over there, three figures sprawled on the grimy stones. In her hand, she held a gleaming, intricately designed metal spinning top. Beside the fallen individual's, three other metallic versions with different colours matching their owners physical traits now lay still, not spinning.
The air hummed with a faint, almost imperceptible vibration, like the aftermath of a struck tuning fork.
Subaru’s bayblade experienced brain whirred. —Is that what I think it is!?.
The way the silver-haired girl held it, the defeated posture of the other people… it looked like some kind of serious competition. A… battle? And the silver-clad metal top in her hand… it had an almost otherworldly sheen.
—So in this world they also have bayblade, AWESOME!.
“Whoa…” he breathed, just now realizing he was holding his breath, a bad habit when he thinks a lot.
"Um?"
The silver-haired girl finally lifted her gaze, her amethyst eyes sharp and assessing as they landed on him.
Subaru, never one to let social awkwardness paralyze him (mostly out of sheer obliviousness), grinned, flashing what he hoped was a friendly, non-threatening smile.
“Whoa! You’re amazing!” he exclaimed, clapping his hands together with genuine enthusiasm. “such a beautiful bayblade you have there, and the fact you defeated three bay bladers at once! You gotta teach me! Or better yet,” he reached into his pocket, a sudden, inexplicable impulse seizing him, “let’s have a match right now!”
His fingers closed around something metallic and familiar. He pulled it out, revealing his well taken care of bay.
Subaru grinned, a flash of teeth in the dim light. In his hand, he held a Beyblade that seemed to pulse with dark energy. "Check this out," he said, his voicce laced with a playful challenge. "I call it Rage hound."
The Beyblade was a disc of pure night, black as a starless void. Jagged edges, like shards of obsidian, rimmed its circumference, promising a whirlwind of brutal attacks. Veins of molten orange, like rivers of fire, snaked across its surface, hinting at the untamed power coiled within. And at its heart, a snarling dog in full sprint, a symbol of relentless fury.
"This isn't just a bayblade," Subaru continued, his eyes locked on the silver-haired girl. "It's got my spirit in it – my stubbornness, my fire, my refusal to back down. And I'm challenging you to a duel. My Rage hound ready to tear your bay apart. Are you?"
The girl’s initial sharp gaze softened into a look of utter incredulity, a delicate eyebrow arching almost imperceptibly. Then, a flicker of something akin to annoyance crossed her features. “I have no time for a match,” she stated, her voice surprisingly soft, yet possessing an undercurrent of steel.
Her gaze flickered past him, her brow furrowing with a sudden urgency.
“Those people” she gestured dismissively with her chin towards the groaning figures, “was merely a distraction, Someone else… someone else took it.”
Subaru blinked, his initial bravado deflating like a punctured balloon.
“Took what?”
“My insignia,” she said, her voice now tight with a distress that was clear. “It’s… incredibly important. More important than you can possibly imagine. I cannot afford to lose it.”
Her amethyst eyes, moments ago focused on his ridiculous challenge, now darted around the alleyway with a frantic intensity that belied her delicate appearance. The playful atmosphere Subaru had unwittingly introduced evaporated, replaced by a heavy sense of concern.
Suddenly, her gaze locked onto something beyond him, towards the alley’s mouth. Her eyes widened almost imperceptibly, and she took a swift step forward, her posture shifting from defensive to predatory.
“There!” she hissed, her voice low and urgent, pointing towards the alley’s exit. A fleeting glimpse of a short blonde haired figure disappearing around the corner, a small, ornate object glinting briefly in their hand, confirmed her accusation. “she is getting away! I don’t have time for this! That insignia is important to me!”
"Eh?"
Without another word, the silver-haired girl moved with astonishing speed, a blur of motion as she surged past a completely bewildered Subaru. Her focus was absolute, her determination radiating off her like a tangible force. The faint scent of delicate flowers and something subtly… otherworldly, a hint of ozone and something sweeter, lingered in the air she’d vacated.
Subaru stood frozen for a heartbeat. He watched the girl’s swift pursuit, the urgency in her voice echoing in his ears. Then, something primal, something deeply ingrained from years of watching heroic anime protagonists leap headfirst into danger, kicked in.
Plus, let’s be honest, the girl was stunning, and there was a captivating thing about her plight. He couldn’t just stand there.
“Wait up!” he yelled, his voice cracking slightly with a mixture of surprise and sudden resolve. He shoved his beloved beyblade back into his pocket and, with a burst of clumsy enthusiasm, stumbled after her.
“I’ll help! I might not be as strong as you, but I’ve got… uh… spirit!” He punctuated his declaration by tripping over a loose cobblestone, his arms windmilling as he narrowly avoided a face-plant into the grimy alley floor.
He scrambled to his feet, dusting off his equally unimpressive tracksuit with a sheepish grin. The alleyway opened abruptly onto a bustling thoroughfare, a chaotic explosion of vibrant colors, unfamiliar writings, and the jostling bodies of countless strangers.
The silver-haired girl was already a small figure weaving expertly through the throng, her movements fluid and purposeful.
"Damn she is fast!"
Subaru, on the other hand, resembled a newborn deer attempting to navigate a stampede. He bumped into a fruit vendor, sending a cascade of ripe oranges tumbling across the cobblestones, earning him a torrent of angry shouts.
"Watch it!"
Then he narrowly avoided a collision with a lumbering cart pulled by a massive, horned creature, his arms flailing wildly for balance.
“Watch where you’re going, you idiot!” a gruff voice bellowed as Subaru inadvertently collided with a burly man carrying a precarious stack of wooden crates.
The impact sent a ripple of instability through the pile, and Subaru braced for disaster.
“So sorry! My bad! Really!” Subaru yelped, his eyes wide with panic as he tried to steady the wobbling crates. He caught a fleeting glimpse of the silver-haired girl ahead, her determined expression unwavering as she expertly navigated the human and demi human river. She seemed completely oblivious to the comedic trail of destruction he was leaving in his wake.
“Hey, uh, silver-hair!” he shouted, attempting what he hoped was a tactical sprint, which quickly devolved into an awkward, panting jog.
“Wait for me! What did that person even steal? Was it, like, the key to saving the world or something? Because I’ve seen enough anime to know that small, shiny objects are always important!”
He saw her flick a brief glance back, her amethyst eyes flashing with a potent mixture of annoyance and what might have been the faintest hint of exasperation she stopped.
“It’s none of your concern!” she called back over the din of the marketplace, her voice barely audible above the cacophony. “Just stay out of this! You’ll only get in the way!”
But Subaru, fueled by a potent cocktail of adrenaline, a misguided sense of chivalry, and a desperate, gnawing need to understand the utterly bizarre predicament he’d found himself in, was not easily deterred.
"No, please let me help"
"For the last time please Stay away from me." This time it wasn't a request, not even a plea. It was a pronouncement, delivered with the weary resignation of someone long accustomed to solitude, a solitary accustomed expression etched in the very lines of her pale face.
But Subaru, bless his stubborn, and good spirit, was constitutionally incapable of heeding refusal, especially when it came from someone who radiated such an aura of vulnerability beneath her icy exterior.
His inherent need to insert himself into other people's problems, This is just who he is
"No," he said, his voice surprisingly firm, the conviction in it echoing in the sudden stillness that had fallen between them. "I want to help you."
A flicker, so fleeting Subaru almost doubted he'd seen it, registered in the silver-haired girl's amethyst eyes. It was subtle , a momentary crack in her icy facade that hinted at a profound unfamiliarity with such direct, unsolicited concern, it was just a moment but it was there he sow it.
—this guy...
Since she comes out of her frozen prison, kindness was a forgotten warmth, a sensation she hadn't felt since her people was.... frozen . But it didn't last her surprise of the boy's earnest concerns, was as ephemeral as a snowflake in the desert wind.
Her guarded expression swiftly returned, her gaze hardening, turning cold and assessing, as if measuring Subaru's sincerity against some internal, frigid yardstick.
"Okay then," she replied, the two words flat and devoid of inflection.
"Really you accept!?"
A small, hopeful smile had begun to bloom on Subaru's lips, a naive relief at having seemingly gotten through to her amidst the marketplace's overwhelming noise.
"Huh!?"
But it withered before it could fully form, replaced by a prickle of confusion and a growing sense of unease as the situation took a sharp, bewildering turn.
With a fluid motion that spoke of an unnatural grace, the girl's hand moved, and from seemingly nowhere, a structure of pure, shimmering ice materialized in her grasp.
"You kidding!"
It was a bayblade launcher, its intricate design sharp and delicate, catching the sunlight in a dazzling display. Nestled within its icy cradle was a bayblade, its surface a breathtaking lattice of frost-kissed crystals, radiating a faint, ethereal blue light.
"Show me your worth," she stated, the air around them visibly cooling, a subtle frost beginning to dust the nearby cobblestones. Her voice, though still quiet, now held an undeniable edge of command.
"Hk–!"
A shiver, primal and instinctive, traced its way down Subaru's spine, a natural response to the sudden drop in temperature and the unnerving intensity of her gaze. Yet, beneath the shock and the creeping cold, an, unsettling sense of understanding settled within him.
This wasn't a casual request for assistance; it was a test, bizarre and utterly unexpected, but a test nonetheless.
"Really? Here?" he blurted out, his hand instinctively gesturing to the throng of bewildered onlookers who were now staring with open curiosity.
"Yes," she replied simply, her gaze unwavering, her amethyst eyes holding his with an icy intensity.
But something peculiar was happening.
The boisterous energy of the marketplace seemed to recede, a visible wave of cold rippling outwards from the silver-haired girl. The cacophony of bartering faded to hushed whispers, children stilled their games, their eyes wide with a mixture of fear and fascination, and the chattering crowd instinctively backed away, forming a loose, circular arena around the two figures.
Their faces, etched with a strange blend of curiosity and a hint of something akin to resignation, suggested that such unusual occurrences might not be entirely unprecedented in this fantasy world.
"Seriously? Looks like this is a regular Tuesday for them," Subaru muttered under his breath, a wry, self-deprecating smirk tugging at his lips despite the absurdity and the underlying tension of the situation.
He reached into his hip, his fingers closing around the familiar, comforting weight of his own launcher. It was nothing flashy, a sturdy piece of well-used metal, a far cry from the crystalline artistry in the girl's hand. With practiced ease, he slotted his trusty bayblade into place.
"Alright then," Subaru said, a flicker of his characteristic, often ill-timed, competitive spirit igniting within him. "I don't mind a bayblade battle."
A hush fell over the makeshift arena, the only sound the distant calls of merchants and the soft rustle of desert wind. A nearby spice merchant, his dark eyes wide with a strange, almost ritualistic anticipation, began the count down "Three… two… one...go!"
With simultaneous flicks of their wrists, both Subaru and the silver-haired girl launched their beys.
Her crystallized bey tore into the center of the circle with astonishing speed, a visible trail of faint, ethereal blue energy shimmering in its wake, leaving a faint frost on the dusty ground. "Burn it with intense cold puck!" she cried out, her voice, though still soft, now laced with an unexpected intensity, a raw power that belied her fragile appearance.
Subaru's breath hitched.
The sheer velocity and the terrifying chill emanating from her bey were unnerving, a tangible manifestation of the cold that clung to her. Panic, an unfamiliar and unwelcome guest, threatened to bubble up, but years of practice and fighting alongside his bey had forged a core of stubborn resilience within him.
"Starting strong, aren't we?" he yelled back, his own determination hardening, a defiant spark in his dark eyes.
"Well, so am I! Rage hound, shred it to pieces!"
His bayblade, a dark blur of motion, pulsed with an inner, fiery orange light as it spun with furious velocity, aiming for a direct, decisive hit. But it was a futile, almost comical effort. The moment Rage hound collided with the crystallized bey, it was like slamming into a wall of solid, unforgiving ice. There was a sickening crunch of metal against crystal, a blinding flash of intense blue energy, and then… nothing.
"Guhhh!"
Subaru's bayblade was sent careening backwards, that skittered uselessly across the cobblestones. He himself stumbled back several meters, skidding on the uneven ground before he finally came to a jarring halt, his chest heaving, the taste of dust and disbelief thick in his mouth.
The silver-haired girl watched him, her expression utterly detached, devoid of any hint of triumph or even mild interest, as her own bayblade, still spinning with an unnerving grace, returned to her outstretched hand.
"...how?"
Her amethyst eyes, sharp and assessing, held his questioning gaze for a fleeting moment, offering a stark, cold evaluation.
"If you can't handle this much," she said, her voice flat and final, each word a shard of ice, "then you can do nothing to help me so stay down."
And with those words, as swift and unexpected as her devastating special attack, she turned and walked away, her silver hair a shimmering as she melted back into the labyrinthine alleys of the bustling marketplace, leaving behind a defeated boy, and his bayblade, and a crowd murmuring with disappointed sighs at the anticlimactic end to the battle.
The lingering chill in the air, a tangible reminder of the power she wielded, was a far more potent sting than any physical blow. Subaru stood there, the dust settling around him, the weight of her dismissal heavier than any defeat he had ever tasted. But even so.
"She is awesome"
flickering ember of determination began to glow. He smiled" and she is even stronger then my dad".
It wasn't disappointment, it was admiration " I like her"

Chapter 3: The Hound Unleashe
Chapter Text
"man, this sucks."
Subaru stepped off the main drag and into the slums, it was like walking into a whole different world. Forget the somewhat cleaner streets he'd been on – this place reeked. Seriously, a cocktail of old garbage, something vaguely sewage-y, and just…sadness.
The buildings were practically stacked on top of each other, looking like they could collapse any second. Kids with way-too-big clothes and dusty faces were just hanging around, looking bored and a little too street-smart for their age. It hit Subaru, this wave of pity.
"Hmm?"
But that pity party got cut short real quick.
Three dudes just kind of materialized out of the shadows, blocking his path. They weren't exactly intimidating, but they had this mean vibe, like stray dogs that were used to fighting for scraps.
The tall, fat one cracked his knuckles – wow such a, classic intimidating move. The short, twitchy one had this permanent sneer thing going on. And the lanky dude? He was the talker, with this creepy way of rolling his tongue.
Yeah, Subaru had a bad feeling about this.
"Yo," the fatl one rumbled, his voice rough. "Where do you think you're going, fancy pants?"
Subaru’s brain did a quick rewind. Had he seen these guys before? Maybe when that silver-haired girl handed them their asses? It wouldn't surprise him. They definitely looked like the type to hold a grudge. And sure enough, the short one piped up, his sneer getting even more intense. "You're with her, aren't ya? Coming down here like you own the place."
Okay they've seen him with her, but this is a major misunderstanding alert. Subaru had zero clue who these guys are but sure as hell they were so ticked off at the silver-haired beyblade prodigy.
But still these guys were clearly connecting the dots wrong. He glanced down at the Rage Hound in his hand. Guess tracking that girl had led him straight into trouble of a different kind. He sighed internally. First a humiliating defeat, now this?
His initial "oh man, this is rough" feeling started to morph into something else. He wasn't exactly scared – he'd been through way weirder stuff, But he was definitely annoyed. He hadn’t come here to pick a fight with a bunch of… well, whatever these guys were. But they weren't exactly giving him a way out.
Then something shifted. The dimming light seemed to catch the orange light in Subaru’s eyes, making them glow a little. He straightened up, that goofy slouch vanishing. He might have felt sorry for the situation these guys were in, but that didn't mean he was going to be a pushover.
"Look," he said, his voice losing its usual light tone. "You've got it wrong guy's. But even if you didn't…" He paused, his gaze sharp. "Don't think you can just muscle your way past me. I've gone up against people who'd make you three look like babies."
He wasn't kidding. He fought ryuga the strongest beyblader in the world and also Damian although he lost both times but he didn't make it easy for them hell they hardly won, and to that the silver-haired girl? She was on a whole different level.
These guys looked like they'd struggle to tie her shoelaces in a beyblade match which they did. But they were here, they were threatening, and Subaru wasn't about to back down.
"Whatever your beef is with that girl," he continued, his voice getting a harder edge, "trust me, I can make your day way worse if you don't step aside. Seriously. Just walk away." He wasn't trying to be a hero, but he sure wasn't going to let these guys roll over him.
Of course, his tough talk didn't exactly defuse the situation. The lanky one’s creepy tongue-rolling picked up speed. "So you are with her! Great. Then you're gonna pay for her being so disrespectful to us. We'll teach you both some manners." He had this nasty little smirk that promised pain.
—Okay asshols.
And that’s when Subaru’s switch flipped. The last bit of daylight faded, and it felt like a shadow literally fell over him. The orange in his eyes burned brighter. A weird, dark aura seemed to swirl around him, like the night itself was giving him a high-five. His lips stretched into this crazy grin, not his usual friendly one, but something… else.
"Heh…" A low laugh bubbled up, then exploded into full-on maniacal giggles that bounced off the grimy walls.
"Humiliate me? You think you can even touch me?"
The pity? Gone. The annoyance? Still there, but now it was mixed with this weird, almost giddy excitement. This wasn't just some random mugging anymore.
They wanted to battle. And that? That was something Subaru understood.
"Alright, tough guys," he said, his voice dripping with a dark amusement. "Show me what you’ve got. Let's see if you can even handle a real blader! Hahahaha!"
They took position.
“Three… two… one… GO!” They yelled in unison, their launches surprisingly coordinated, if a little overenthusiastic.
Whoosh! Whizz! Clang! Three beys slammed into the ground – and They immediately zeroed in on Rage Hound, a chaotic storm of spinning metal trying to overwhelm him with sheer numbers. Rachins bey eclipse cobra a multi coloured purple and blue, slammed in first, followed by the obnoxious dark blue one and then the heavy rad one, each hit trying to push Rage Hound back, back, back. Sparks flew with each collision, little bursts of light in the gloomy slums.
Okay, they weren’t completely useless.
“Hah! See that, tough guy?” Rachins crowed, his voice laced with smug satisfaction. “Three against one! Your little mutt can’t handle this!” His purple bey kept ramming into Rage Hound, its attacks surprisingly persistent.
While Gaston bey was a solid wall of force, just trying to brute-force Subaru out of balance. And the little one kept up the verbal assault, a stream of insults about Subaru’s ‘shiny’ bey and his ‘pretty boy’ face. They actually thought they had the upper hand.
Idiots.
Subaru just gritted his teeth, bracing against the relentless assault. Each impact vibrated up his core, but through it all, he kept his eyes locked on the swirling chaos.
He could feel Rage Hound holding its ground, that stubborn lovely dog refusing to yield. And a small, almost imperceptible smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. They were so focused on their clumsy teamwork, they weren’t noticing something crucial.
The attacks continued, a non-stop barrage of metal on metal. Rage Hound was taking a beating, no doubt about it.
But… wait. Rachins blinked. Was it just him, or was Rage Hound… not slowing down? Even with three beys pounding on it, its spin was still strong, unwavering.
“Hey!” Rachins pointed, his voice losing some of its earlier bravado. “Wait a second… his bey… it’s not even wobbling!”
Gaston grunted, his thick eyebrows furrowing in confusion. Camberley squinted, his trash talk dying in his throat. They were starting to notice.
Good.
"Heh"
A low chuckle rumbled in Subaru’s chest, a sound that quickly escalated into a full-blown laugh.
“Hahahahaha, You guys really thought that was enough to Knock out my rage hound?” he said, his eyes now gleaming with a predatory light.
“You thought that pathetic what you call team-work could even scratch the surface? Well, guess what? You’re about to see what Rage Hound is really capable of! Rage Hound… BLOODY HOWL!!!”
The moment the words left his lips, Rage Hound exploded with orange light, so intense it made the thugs shield their eyes.
The smoky dark orange aura around Subaru intensified, swirling like a furious vortex. And just like that, the tide turned. The three opposing beys, which had been pressing so aggressively, were suddenly repelled as if they’d slammed into an invisible force field.
They bounced back, creating a clear circle of space around Rage Hound.
"This is it!"
Subaru didn’t waste the opportunity. His eyes locked onto each of the stunned thugs in turn. “Rage Hound,” he commanded, his voice sharp and ringing with power, “shred them to pieces!”
The orange light around Rage Hound blazed even brighter, morphing into a fierce, almost blood-orange hue. With a speed that defied logic, the dark orange bey shot forward, a howling streak of pure destructive energy.
Bam! It slammed into Camberley's bey, sending it spinning wildly, completely out of control. Before the guy could even stammer a protest, Rage Hound ricocheted back, an orange and dark blur, and. whack!
It collided with Rachins purple bey, sending it flying with a pathetic clatter against the ground.
Finally, with terrifying precision, it spun towards Gaston's red bey, hitting it with such force that the big guy actually stumbled backward from the shockwave, his bey skittering across the ground and collapsing into stillness.
The only sound in the grimy slums was the furious whirring of Rage Hound, still spinning with unbelievable intensity in the center of the road. The three thugs stood frozen, their mouths hanging open like surprised fish. Their faces, moments ago so smug, were now pale with shock.
Subaru just shook his head, a lazy, almost bored smirk spreading across his face.
“Hah… seriously? I didn’t even break a sweat. You guys are…weak. Just… weak.”
Rage Hound continued its wild spin, the intense orange light now solidifying into a distinct, shadowy form above the bey – the menacing silhouette of a snarling, dark dog with glowing orange eyes. A low, guttural woof echoed from the spinning top, a sound that sent a shiver down the trio's spine.
It wasn't just a beyblade anymore. It felt… alive.
That was apparently the memo for the three goons. Their shock morphed into sheer terror. With matching yelps of pure, unadulterated fear, they collected their beys turned tail and bolted, tripping over their own feet in their desperate escape from the seemingly possessed hound like bey.
Subaru watched them disappear around the corner of the dilapidated houses, the smirk still playing on his lips. He bent down and gently scooped up Rage Hound, the shadowy dog aura slowly dissipating as the bey’s furious spin finally stopped. “You were amazing, partner,” he murmured, a hint of something that wasn’t just pride in his voice. “Absolutely amazing.” Now, about that silver haired girl…
