Because Of You

Chapter 1

Miyo hummed happily to herself as she got dressed. Her father and mother in law came to Kiyoka’s and Miyo’s home to spend a couple days with the young couple. Miyo was excited because she was going shopping with Kaya, Hazuki, Yurie, and Fuyu. She couldn't wait to start getting items and clothes for their twin daughters. She put on a purple kimono with white and lilac butterflies all over. Her obi was lilac with white butterflies on it. She styled her hair in an elegant updo with silver butterfly hair pins. She put on the diamond barrette in the shape of a rose that Kiyoka gave to her for Christmas. On her ears were a pair of simple diamond earrings. She wore the matching diamond necklace around her neck. To complete the outfit she put on the diamond brooch in the shape of a rose. Miyo did her make up when she was finished and grabbed her matching bag. Miyo affectionately rubbed her belly and asked, “Are you ready to go shopping with mama?” Miyo smiled as she felt her daughters kick. Miyo left their bedroom and walked into the sitting room. Fuyu and Tadakiyo were drinking their tea when Miyo walked in. Fuyu and Tadakiyo smiled and replied, “Good morning my daughter, how did you sleep last night?” Miyo smiled and said, “Good morning mother and father, I slept well. How did you both sleep?” Fuyu and Tadakiyo replied, “We slept well thanks for asking.” Fuyu said, “Miyo you look so beautiful this morning. Are you excited to go shopping today?” Miyo smiled brightly and said, “Thank you so much mother. I can't wait to go shopping together today. You look beautiful today as well.”

Miyo sat down on the couch and she cradled her baby bump. Tadakiyo asked, “How are my granddaughters doing?” Miyo smiled happily and said, “They are doing great. They keep moving and kicking me.” Tadakiyo walked over to Miyo and placed his hand on her belly. He smiled and said, “They are definitely excited today. My dear you should feel our granddaughters kick.” Fuyu walked over to Miyo and gently placed her hand on her belly. She smiled and said, “My precious granddaughters are really excited today aren't they.” Kiyoka walked into the sitting room dressed in his military uniform. He was getting ready to go to work. Kiyoka said good morning to his parents. He walked over to Miyo and said, “Good morning my precious Miyo. How did you sleep my darling?” Miyo caressed his cheek and said, “Good morning honey I slept well. How did you sleep darling?” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s forehead and said, “I'm glad that you slept well my darling. I slept well thanks for asking.” Miyo sat up and Kiyoka kissed her lips softly. Miyo said, “Honey, your hair tie is loose. Do you want me to tie it back up for you?” Kiyoka smiled and said, “Thank you my darling. I didn't realize that it was loose.” Miyo got up from the couch and she fixed his hair tie for him. Kiyoka gently kissed Miyo’s baby bump and said, “Good morning my sweet little angels. Papa loves you so much.” Kiyoka smiled as he put his hands on her baby bump. Kiyoka said, “Wow my darling, our daughters are really happy today.” Miyo giggled as she and Kiyoka felt their daughters move and kick. Yurie came into the sitting room with a tray of freshly brewed tea and pastries. She placed the tray on the table. Yurie bowed and said, “Good morning my lords and ladies. I have brewed the tea and I have made pastries.” Miyo, Fuyu, Tadakiyo, and Kiyoka smiled and said, “Good morning Yurie. Thank you Yurie.” Miyo grabbed a pastry and a cup of tea. Kiyoka asked, “Miyo my darling, are you going shopping today?” Miyo said, “Yes honey I am going shopping today. I am so excited.” Kiyoka affectionately patted Miyo on her head and said, “Honey please don’t overexert yourself today. Take as many breaks as you can. Here's the check my darling. I want to buy whatever you want.” Miyo took the check and smiled and said, “Okay darling I will be careful and I will take breaks. Thank you so much honey.” Miyo kissed Kiyoka on the lips.

There was a knock on their door and Yurie answered the door. It was Hazuki and Kaya. Yurie greeted Hazuki and Kaya and she led them into the sitting room. Hazuki and Kaya said, “Good morning everyone.” Kiyoka said, “Good morning big sister. Good morning, little sister, please look after Miyo for me. Make sure she takes plenty of breaks. Make sure that Miyo has plenty of water to drink. I want you to make sure that Miyo puts her feet up when she rests. I don't want her feet to swell.” Hazuki laughed and put her hand on his shoulder and said, “Don’t worry little brother Miyo is going to be fine. You are such a worrywart.” Kiyoka pouted and said, “I just want to make sure that my wife and daughters are safe.” Miyo caressed his cheek and said, “Honey don't worry, the babies and I are going to be fine.” Miyo kissed his hand and she gently put his hand on her baby bump. As Kiyoka felt his daughters move and kick he relaxed. Kiyoka pulled out his pocket watch and said, “Have fun my darling I am running late. I will see you later. I love you my darling.” Miyo said, “I will see you later, my Kiyoka. I love you too.” Kiyoka and Miyo kissed for a few minutes and then he pulled away. Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s baby bump and said, “Goodbye my precious little angels papa will see you later.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and her belly again. He said goodbye to everyone else. As he left the house he ate a pastry. Yurie handed him his briefcase, his bento box, and his car keys. Kiyoka got in his car and he drove away. There was another knock at the door. It was Arata and Yoshirou. Miyo hugged her grandfather and cousin.

Meanwhile back at the house Miyo, Hazuki, Kaya, Fuyu, Yurie, Arata, and Yoshirou were eating pastries and drinking their tea. Hazuki giggled and said, “I can't believe that Kiyoka was being such a worrywart.” Miyo blushed and said, “I thought that it was adorable. He's just worried about me and the babies.” Hazuki asked, “Did Kiyoka give you some money?” Miyo answered, “Yes he gave me a check.” Fuyu said, “We have to go to the bank so that Miyo can cash out the check.” Kaya excitedly replied, “I can't wait to go shopping with you all today.” Miyo and the rest of the ladies drank their tea and ate their pastries. When they were finished Yurie did the dishes while Miyo used the bathroom. Soon their ride was here and they got into the car. A half an hour later they arrived at First Tokyo Bank. Miyo, Fuyu, Kaya, Hazuki, and Yurie exited the car. They entered the bank when they were greeted by a bank teller. Miyo said, “Hello I am Miyo Kudo and I am here to make a withdrawal.” The bank teller upon hearing her name bowed deeply and said, “Yes my lady if you and your guests will follow me.” Miyo and the rest of the ladies followed the bank teller down the hallway until they came to a quiet room. The room had fancy plush couches, fine artwork hanging on the wall, and beautifully carved chairs and a table made of the finest wood. The bank teller said, “My lady, would you and your guests please wait here while we complete your request?” Miyo said, “Thank you very much.” The bank teller bowed deeply and he took the check and he left the room. Miyo, Fuyu, Kaya, Hazuki, and Yurie sat down on the couch and they waited. Ten minutes later the bank teller came back into the room with an envelope. He said, “Here is your money my lady. We hope that you have a great day. We will be here for all of your banking needs.” He bowed again and he led Miyo and the rest of the ladies to the front lobby of the bank. Miyo gave the envelope of money to Yurie. Fuyu replied, “Ladies, are we ready to go shopping?” Miyo, Hazuki, Kaya, and Yurie happily said yes. The first place that they went to was a furniture store. Hazuki replied, “They have the best furniture. This is where I bought my son's crib and other furniture.” They entered the store and they were welcomed by a store clerk. As Miyo looked around the store she found a crib that she loved. The crib was carved out of the finest wood. It had flowers and butterflies carved into the wood. Miyo gasped and said, “Oh it's so beautiful. This crib is perfect for my daughters.” Hazuki, Fuyu, Kaya, and Yurie looked at the crib. Hazuki said, “Oh Miyo, that crib is beautiful, you should get it. What do you think, mother?” Fuyu smiled and said, “That crib is perfect for my granddaughters.” Miyo smiled and said, “I am going to buy this crib.” Hazuki brought the store clerk over to Miyo. Miyo said, “I would like to purchase two of these cribs please.” They also found two matching changing tables, dresser, and a rocking chair. After Miyo paid for the furniture they decided to take a break. Miyo laid her head on Kaya’s shoulder and said, “I'm so happy that you're all here with me. I really appreciate it.

The ladies hugged Miyo and they continued to walk down the street. They entered the department store and they walked into the children's clothing section. Miyo’s eyes widened and she said, “Wow there are so many clothes I don't know where to start.” Hazuki squeezed Miyo’s shoulder and said, “It’s okay Miyo, we will look together.” Miyo, Hazuki, Kaya, Fuyu, and Yurie started looking for clothes for Miyo’s daughters. After ten minutes Miyo held up two dresses with a cherry blossom pattern all over the dresses. She said, “These dresses are so perfect for them. I am getting these.” Kaya squealed excitedly and said, “Those dresses are so cute, big sister. What do you think about this dress?” The dress that Kaya held in her hands was purple with white polka dots all over the dress. Miyo said, “Kaya, that dress is lovely. You should find the same dress.” Kaya left to get another purple dress with white polka dots all over. Fuyu found two white cotton dresses with a pink silk bow tied around its waist. Hazuki found two pink lace dresses. With Hazuki and Fuyu’s guidance Miyo bought many dresses, accessories, and shoes for her daughters. The ladies decided to take another break. Miyo and the ladies sat down to rest. Miyo smiled and she cradled her baby bump. She was happy that she was finding so many things for her precious little girls. Hazuki smiled and said, “Miyo, what was your favorite item that you bought so far?” Miyo said, “My favorite item is the pink cherry blossom dresses with the matching bonnets. I can't wait to dress the girls up in those dresses.” Fuyu smiled and said, “My granddaughters are going to be the best dressed babies in Tokyo.” Kaya said, “My nieces are going to be so cute in their little dresses.” After they rested for thirty minutes they got up and went to another store. This store sold items for babies. Hazuki and Fuyu helped Miyo buy blankets for the twins. Miyo wanted the softest and the most comfortable blankets for her precious little girls. They also got spit up rags, cloth diapers, and swaddling blankets. Kaya picked up a container and said, “What’s this?” Hazuki said, “That container holds your baby's first lock of hair.” Miyo with tears in her eyes said, “That's so adorable. I want to collect my twin daughter's first locks of hair.” Miyo decided to buy two of the containers. Once Miyo got everything that she needed from this store she paid for her items.

Miyo yawned and said, “Is everyone hungry? We should get some lunch.” Everyone agreed to get some lunch before they went to eat. They dropped off their bags in the car that was being watched by the driver. The ladies decided to eat lunch at a fancy French restaurant. Miyo, Fuyu, Kaya, Hazuki, and Yurie entered the restaurant. They ordered their food and drinks. Miyo said, “I want to thank everyone for going shopping with me today. It means a lot to me that you are here with me.” Hazuki, Fuyu, Kaya, and Yurie said, “We were so glad to be able to go shopping with you. We are so happy for you and Kiyoka. We can't wait to meet your daughters.” Their food and drinks arrived. While they ate their lunch they gossiped and laughed. When they were finished eating their lunch Fuyu paid for the lunch. They left the restaurant and Miyo said, “Can we go shopping again next time? I am so tired.” Hazuki looked at her watch and said, “Wow it's almost 1:00 P.M. I think that we should go shopping again at a later date. Miyo you must be tired doing all of that walking.” The ladies agree to go home. They got into the car and they drove out of the town. A half an hour later Miyo and the rest of the ladies are back at Kiyoka and Miyo’s house. Yurie and Arata unpacked the car and they brought the bags inside of the house. Miyo sighed tiredly and she laid down on the couch with her feet propped up on a pillow. Yurie decided to make some tea for everyone. Tadakiyo asked, “So how did your shopping trip go?” Miyo smiled and said, “It was amazing we bought so much stuff for the twins.” Yoshirou smiled and said, “I'm so happy that you enjoyed your shopping trip.” Ten minutes later Yurie came back into the sitting room with a tray of freshly brewed tea and pastries. Everyone thanked Yurie and they started to drink their tea. They were in the middle of a lively conversation when they heard a knock at the door. Yurie got up and went to answer the door. Miyo was drinking her tea when she heard two familiar voices talking to Yurie. That's when Miyo felt her heart stop and her blood ran cold.

Chapter 2

Miyo felt all the color drain from her face. Miyo felt her heart pounding in her chest and the palms of her hands felt sweaty. Fuyu looked over at Miyo and asked, “Miyo are you alright? Your face looks pale.” Miyo didn't answer and she started to hyperventilate. Shinichi and Kanako Saimori walked into the sitting room. Kaya looked at her parents in shock and asked, “Mother and father, what are you doing here?” Shinichi and Kanako sat down on the couch across from Miyo. Kanako looked at Miyo with a disgusted and hateful look in her eyes. Kanako bitterly said, “I thought that Lord Kudo would have realized how worthless and useless you are and that he would kick you out. I thought that you would be living on the street.” Miyo was extremely scared. Kanako turned to Kaya and said, “Kaya, how could you have a relationship with this thing? She's ugly, worthless, useless, a burden, and an embarrassment to our family. It's just disgusting you're Lady Saimori now. Kaya, I raised you to be superior to that thing.” Kaya said, “Mother Miyo is not a thing, she is a human being. Miyo is my sister and she is not an embarrassment to our family. Mother, I am not superior to Miyo. I was just like Miyo. I was a servant. I was mopping the floors, I was cleaning the dishes, making beds and making tea. Having supernatural abilities didn't help or make me better than Miyo. My employer didn't care about my abilities. None of it matters anymore.” Kanako looked at Kaya with a disappointed look in her eyes.

Shinichi scowled at Miyo and said, “Miyo, I want my money from you and Lord Kudo. Lord Kudo owes me your dowry. I still can't believe that Lord Kudo would marry someone as useless as you.” Kanako said, “Listen here girl, you are going to tell your husband to give us the money.” Miyo thought about all of the times that she was treated with respect and she also realized that Kiyoka loves her. Miyo took a deep breath and said, “I'm sorry father and stepmother I cannot give you any money.” Kanako stood up and walked over to Miyo. Kanako yelled and said, “You spoiled ungrateful girl. You think that you're more superior than me. Who do you think you are? We raise you for nineteen years and you have the nerve to tell us no. You marry into the Kudo family and you think that you're better than me. You are a disrespectful, ugly girl.” Kanako repeatedly hit Miyo with a folded up fan. Blood hit the wall behind Miyo. Kanako kept hitting Miyo until Tadakiyo grabbed her hand. Tadakiyo said angrily, “That is enough you will not keep assaulting my daughter in law.” Kanako angrily said, “Why would you defend this thing? She's not fit to be a servant in this house. That thing is going to destroy and embarrass the Kudo family.” Fuyu wrapped her arms around Miyo and said, “Miyo is not a thing, she is Lady Kudo. She is not an embarrassment to our family. You are a wretched, disgusting, horrid woman.” Kanako bitterly replied, “Congratulations on your pregnancy Miyo. I heard that you're pregnant with twin daughters. If I were you I would hope that Lord Kudo doesn't divorce you for failing to provide him with a son.” Miyo rubbed her belly and said, “My husband would never divorce me for having two daughters. My husband loves me and our daughters.” Shinichi laughed in Miyo’s face and said, “Nobody's ever going to love you. Your mother hated you. From the moment you were born and I realized that you didn't have any supernatural abilities I hated you. Everyday I wish that you had never been born.” Miyo, Kaya, Hazuki, Fuyu, Tadakiyo, Arata, Yurie, and Yoshirou stared at Shinichi in shock. Tears fell down Miyo’s eyes and Hazuki and Fuyu hugged Miyo. Yoshirou walked over to Shinichi and said, “For twenty two years I held my tongue. You took away my precious Sumi from me. You abused and neglected my granddaughter. You have some nerve coming into my granddaughter's home demanding money after you took everything from her.” Shinichi replied, “I hated your daughter. I only married her so that the Saimori family could have the dream sight ability in our family. Sumi gave birth to a powerless, useless, ungrateful, spoiled, burden.” Yoshirou was so angry he almost punched Shinichi but Arata stopped him at the last moment.

Fuyu angrily said, “You both need to leave.” Kanako bitterly said, “I'm not leaving until we get our money that is owed to us.” Kanako walked over to Miyo but Kaya and Hazuki got in-between Kanako and Miyo. Kanako bitterly said, “From the moment I met you I hated you. You looked just like your mother. Miyo, do you want to know who your mother truly was? Your mother was a classless, ugly, worthless, stupid, tramp. When I heard that she had died I was happy because that meant that Shinichi was mine again and that I would be Lady Saimori. Not your thief of a mother who stole the love of my life and took the title that was rightfully mine. Yes I destroyed your mother's things. Yes I chopped down your mother's cherry blossom tree. I enjoyed every moment of making your life a living nightmare and I would do it again. Miyo, I hope that you lose both of your daughters. Your useless genes shouldn't be passed down.” Miyo was so angry she dug her fingernails into her skin. She knew that stepmother and her father hated her and her mother but to hear it spoken so plainly it angered her.

Before Miyo could stop herself she slapped Kanako across her face. Kanako looked at Miyo in shock. Miyo said, “How dare you talk about my mother that way. My mother was a thousand times a better woman than you could ever dream of. My daughters are going to be born healthy and strong. I want you to take my father and get out of my house now.” Kanako held her cheek and said, “It's because of you that my life is ruined. How dare you slap me you insolent girl!” Before Kanako could slap Miyo, Kaya grabbed her mother's hand. Kaya said, “Mother that's enough, you need to take father and you need to go.” Kanako looked at Kaya with a shocked look in her eyes. As she and Shinichi left, Shinichi said, “Miyo, you are a worthless, useless girl. How could you turn your back on your family?” Yurie walked them to the front door and she shoved their things into their hands and she slammed the door in Shinichi's and Kanako's faces. Once they were gone Miyo collapsed into Kaya’s arms. Miyo sobbed on her sister's shoulder. Kaya rubbed Miyo’s back to comfort Miyo. Kaya said, “It’s okay big sister they're gone now.” Yurie went to get the first aid kit. Yurie came back into the sitting room with the first aid kit and softly said, “My lady please sit down so that I can treat your wounds.” Kaya guided Miyo to the couch and Yurie started to treat her wounds. Miyo had a bloody nose, a busted lip, cuts and bruises across both of her cheeks. Once Yurie cleaned and disinfected her wounds she bandaged up her wounds. Hazuki took Miyo to her bedroom to change out of her bloody kimono. When Miyo changed into her cherry blossom yukata. Miyo laid down on her bed. So many emotions were swirling around in her head. She felt angry, fearful, sad, and numb. As she cried on her bed Kaya and Fuyu entered the bedroom. Fuyu said soberly, “Miyo, are you feeling okay?” Miyo tearfully replied, “I am so angry and sad. Why did they do this to me?” Fuyu pulled Miyo into a tight hug. She said, “Miyo, I want you to know that you are not worthless, useless, or a burden. Tadakiyo and I are happy that you're a part of our family.” As Miyo cried on her mother in law’s shoulder. She felt Hazuki and Kaya hug her. For Miyo seeing her father and stepmother brought up painful memories of her childhood. She remembered brutal beatings and being locked inside of the storeroom. As the memories started to flood her mind Miyo started to hyperventilate. They stopped hugging her and Fuyu guided Miyo to the bed. Hazuki helped Miyo to breathe slow and deep breaths and she eventually stopped hyperventilating. Hazuki asked Miyo, “Little sister, do you want some tea?” Miyo shook her head yes and Hazuki said, “Okay Miyo I will make you some tea. Mother, could you help me make some tea?” Fuyu reassuringly squeezed Miyo’s hands and said, “Okay Hazuki let's make Miyo some tea.” Hazuki and Fuyu left the bedroom. Miyo laid down on the bed and said, “Kaya I can't believe that you defended me.” Kaya squeezed Miyo’s hands and said, “I'm sorry that I didn't defend you while you were being abused. Of course I defended you, we're sisters. I didn't like the way they treated you, big sister.” Miyo hugged Kaya and said, “Thank you little sister.” Miyo felt Kaya run her fingers through her hair. Ten minutes later Hazuki and Fuyu came into the bedroom with Miyo’s tea. Hazuki said, “Here's your tea little sister.” Miyo smiled weakly and said, “Thank you all so very much.” Miyo slowly sipped her tea until she was finished. Miyo yawned; she was physically and mentally exhausted. Miyo said, “I'm so exhausted I think that I'm going to take a nap.” Hazuki, Fuyu, and Kaya stayed with Miyo until she fell asleep. Once she was asleep the ladies quietly left the bedroom and walked into the sitting room.

When Hazuki, Fuyu, and Kaya entered the sitting room Tadakiyo with a serious look on his face asked, “How is Miyo doing?” Hazuki sadly replied, “Miyo is still really upset and traumatized. She finally went to sleep.” After Hazuki’s admission the room fell into sad silence. Yoshirou was furious at the treatment and disrespect of his daughter and granddaughter. Tadakiyo and Fuyu were outraged at the treatment of their daughter in law. Hazuki was heartbroken to know that Miyo grew up in a household where she was abused and neglected. Arata was furious with Shinichi and Kanako for hurting Miyo and being happy about it. Kaya felt anger at her parents for teaching her how to abuse Miyo. Now that she knows what her parents did was wrong she is determined to be a better sister to Miyo. Fuyu replied soberly, “I can only imagine how furious Kiyoka is going to be when he finds out what happened to Miyo today.” At Fuyu’s admission a feeling of dread filled the room. Meanwhile in the kitchen Yurie focused on cooking dinner. Yurie had never felt so angry before in her entire life. Seeing Miyo being treated like that made her blood boil. Miyo wasn't just the mistress of their home but she considered Miyo to be like her own daughter. She didn't like seeing Miyo being hurt or disrespected. An hour and a half later dinner was ready. Yurie came into the sitting room and said, “I have finished preparing dinner. We just have to wait for Lady Miyo and Young Master to join us. Miyo walked into the sitting room, her eyes were swollen and puffy. Miyo weakly greeted everyone. Miyo sat down and she laid her head on her grandfather's shoulder. Yoshirou ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair. At 6:30 Kiyoka came home when he stepped into the house. He instantly felt that there was something wrong. When Yurie greeted him she said, “My lord there is something that you need to know.” Kiyoka looked at Yurie and asked, “Yurie what happened, is everything alright?” Yurie looked solemnly at him and said, “We had just come back from shopping with Lady Miyo. When there was a knock at the door and I answered it. It was Lady Miyo’s father and stepmother. Her stepmother hit her and they were asking her for money. Fortunately she and the babies are okay but she does have bruises and cuts on her face. Her stepmother wished that Lady Miyo would lose the twins.” Kiyoka was shocked and angry. How dare they come into their home and hurt his precious Miyo. Kiyoka felt the vein in his head throb and his eyes turned an icy blue. Kiyoka asked with his hand on his saber, “Is Miyo’s father and stepmother still here?” Yurie replied, “No my lord, they left a few hours ago.”

Kiyoka took a deep breath and he went inside to check on Miyo and their unborn babies. When Kiyoka walked into the sitting room he was unprepared to see his sweet, precious Miyo hurt. Kiyoka softly said, “Hi my darling, are you okay my love?” Kiyoka walked over to Miyo and he gently caressed her cheek. Kiyoka could see that her face was swollen and that she had a busted lip. He saw that Miyo had a cut underneath her right eye. As Kiyoka looked at Miyo’s battered and bruised face he got angrier and angrier. Kiyoka took a deep breath he needed to stay calm it was no use to get angry right now. Miyo collapsed in arms and she sobbed on his chest hysterically. As Kiyoka ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair he said, “It's okay my love I'm here now. It's okay you're safe now.” Kiyoka kissed the top of Miyo’s head. Everyone could see that Kiyoka was really furious but Kiyoka’s first priority was making sure that Miyo was okay. After a while Miyo stopped crying and Kiyoka asked, “Miyo my darling are you hungry?” Miyo sadly said, “Yes honey I am pretty hungry.” Kiyoka said, “Yurie, could you please make sure that Miyo eats dinner.” Yurie bowed and said, “Yes my lord, come along Lady Miyo we must get you some food.” Yurie, Hazuki, and Fuyu guided Miyo to the dining room. Kiyoka walked over to Kaya and said, “Kaya I need you to call Koji. I want to have a meeting with him tonight.” Kaya said, “Okay big brother I will call Koji right now.” Kaya left the sitting room to call Koji. Kaya called Koji and she told him everything that happened to Miyo. Koji was very upset and he said that he would be at the Kudo residence in a half an hour. Kaya told Kiyoka that Koji was on his way and they joined the dinner with everyone else.

Miyo managed to eat half of her dinner. She wanted to cuddle with Kiyoka. After dinner everyone went to the sitting room except for Yurie she had to wash the dishes. Miyo sat in Kiyoka’s lap and she snuggled deeper into Kiyoka’s chest. Kiyoka wrapped his arms around Miyo’s waist and he held her close. He kissed her lips. Thirty minutes later there was a knock on their front door. Kiyoka got up and he answered the door. It was Koji. He had a serious look on his face. Kiyoka welcomed him in and he, Koji, and Tadakiyo went into Kiyoka’s office to have this meeting. Inside Kiyoka’s office Kiyoka sat down in his chair and said, “Lord Saimori I would like to thank you for coming to this meeting on such short notice. It has come to my attention that Shinichi and Kanako came to my home today. They demanded money, they assaulted and disrespected my wife, and they wished for our daughters to die. I am furious. I told them to stay away from Miyo and yet they didn't listen. I do not want them around Miyo or our daughters. I don't want to hurt anybody but if you mess with my family I will make them pay.” Koji got up from his chair and he bowed deeply. He said, “Lord Kudo, I am sincerely sorry that this has happened to Lady Miyo. I will make this right. You have my word.” Kiyoka looked at Koji and shook his hand. He said, “I believe what you tell me is true Lord Saimori. I want to have a meeting with Shinichi and Kanako because this cannot ever happen again.” Koji said, “How are we going to get them to the meeting?” Kiyoka smiled a sneaky smile and said, “Lord Saimori I want you to tell them that I am going to pay Miyo’s dowry. That will get them to the meeting tomorrow.” Koji said, “Lord Kudo, you are a genius.” Kiyoka said, “Thank you.” The meeting continued for another thirty minutes. Once the meeting was over Koji went to Miyo and he hugged her. Koji said, “I'm so sorry Miyo, please give yourself some peace.” Miyo smiled sadly and said, “Thank you Koji.” Koji said, “See you later Miyo please take care of yourself okay.” Miyo said, “Goodbye Koji, okay I will take care of myself.” Kaya hugged Miyo and said, “Goodbye big sister, I will call you tomorrow to check up on you.” Miyo softly said, “Thank you Kaya for everything.” After Koji and Kaya said goodbye to everyone else they left the house hand in hand. The next people to leave were Arata and Yoshirou. Kiyoka said to Arata and Yoshirou, “Don’t worry, I have a meeting with Miyo’s father and stepmother tomorrow. This situation will be handled.” Yoshirou and Arata looked relieved. They gave Miyo a hug and they said that they will call her tomorrow. Arata and Yoshirou left the house. Last person to leave was Hazuki. She said good bye to her parents and brother. She hugged Miyo and said, “Oh little sister I'm truly sorry that this happened to you. Please keep your spirits up. I will come back tomorrow okay.” Miyo hugged Hazuki and said, “Thank you big sister, I will see you tomorrow.” Hazuki left the house and she went back to her home. Kiyoka and Miyo walked back into the sitting room where Tadakiyo and Fuyu were drinking their tea.

Fuyu asked Miyo, “Do you want some tea?” Miyo sadly replied, “Yes I would love some tea.” Kiyoka guided Miyo to the couch and Fuyu poured some tea into a teacup for Miyo. Miyo slowly sipped her tea. The events from earlier kept replaying in her mind. When she finished drinking her tea Yurie came to take everyone's teacups to the kitchen so that she could wash them. Miyo sat in Kiyoka’s lap and she snuggled deeper into Kiyoka’s chest. Miyo sighed sadly as Kiyoka ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair and he kissed the top of her head. They sat in the sitting room with Kiyoka’s parents for a little while until Fuyu and Tadakiyo started to get sleepy. Fuyu hugged Miyo and said, “Goodnight my daughter, try and get some sleep.” Tadakiyo walked over to Miyo and gave her a hug. He said, “Goodnight my daughter I'm so sorry that this happened to you. You are going to be alright.” Miyo sadly replied, “Goodnight mother and father rest well.” Tadakiyo and Fuyu told Kiyoka good night and they went to their room to go to sleep. After his parents left Miyo sat down on Kiyoka’s lap. Miyo snuggled deeper into Kiyoka’s chest. Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and said, “Do you want to take a bath my darling?” Miyo soberly said, “Sure I would love to take a bath.” Kiyoka got up from the couch and he was about to leave the sitting room when Miyo stopped him. She sadly said, “Honey I'll run my own bath. I don't want to burden you.” Kiyoka walked over to Miyo and he caressed her cheek. He said, “Miyo my darling, you are not a burden. I love you so very much. Please let your husband take care of you.” Miyo blushed and she shyly shook her head yes. Kiyoka gently kissed Miyo’s lips and he left the room. Ten minutes later Kiyoka finished running Miyo’s bath. Kiyoka came into the sitting room where he saw Miyo crying. Kiyoka gave Miyo a hug and a kiss. Kiyoka said, “It’s alright my darling. It's alright now.” Miyo stopped crying and Kiyoka asked, “Are you ready to take your bath now, my love?” Miyo quietly said, “I'm ready for my bath.” Miyo hugged Kiyoka and she left the sitting room. She entered the bathroom to find that Kiyoka had lit several cherry blossom scented candles scattered around the tub. The water in the tub was the perfect temperature. Miyo took off her cherry blossom yukata and she got in the tub.

The hot water felt amazing on her tired muscles. As Miyo washed her body she felt shame and guilt. How was she going to be a good mother if she couldn't defend her daughters against her stepmother. She loves her daughters more than anything but she failed. She was worthless and useless. She couldn't do anything right. After she washed her body until she was clean. Miyo got out of the bathtub and she wrapped a towel around herself. She left the bathroom and she walked into their bedroom. Kiyoka was waiting for her. He asked, “Did you enjoy your bath my darling?” Miyo sat down at her vanity and sadly said, “My bath was great. Thank you so much for running my bath honey.” Miyo rubbed rose scented lotion on her arms and legs. When she was finished she combed her hair until it was dry. When she was finished combing her hair she put on her rose print yukata. Miyo climbed into bed next to Kiyoka. Miyo started to cry as flashbacks of brutal beatings and harsh words came back to her. Miyo felt Kiyoka wrap his arms around her waist and he held her close to him. Kiyoka peppered kisses on her face and he wiped away her tears. Miyo could feel his chest rumble as he spoke softly into her ear. Kiyoka said, “It’s okay my darling you're safe now. I won't let anyone else hurt you.” Miyo sobbed softly on his chest as Kiyoka ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair. Hearing his gentle heartbeat in her ear helped Miyo feel a little bit better but she was still scared of her father and stepmother. Kiyoka’s heart broke into pieces hearing his sweet precious wife cry her heart out. For a while Miyo cried on his chest while Kiyoka was trying to comfort Miyo. After a while Miyo cried herself to sleep. Kiyoka gently moved Miyo to a comfortable position. Once Miyo was comfortable he turned off the lights and climbed into bed.

Kiyoka tenderly caressed Miyo’s cheek. It broke his heart to see Miyo hurting. Kiyoka wanted to protect Miyo from her cruel and abusive family. It angered him to see his precious Miyo’s face all cut and bruised up. Kiyoka wanted to make sure that Shinichi and Kanako would pay for the harm inflicted on Miyo and their unborn daughters. Kiyoka wanted to take care of Miyo today, especially after everything that happened to her. He wished that he could take away Miyo’s trauma and pain. Kiyoka tucked Miyo into bed and he wrapped his arms around her waist. He said, “Goodnight my love, I love you so very much. Rest well my darling.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and he shut his eyes and went to sleep. Meanwhile in Miyo’s nightmare Miyo was being dragged by her hair through the Saimori estate by her stepmother. Kanako was yelling hurtful insults at Miyo while she was being dragged. Once they were at the storeroom Kanako opened the door and she shoved Miyo into the storeroom. Kanako said, “I don't want to see your face until you apologize for what you've done.” Just as she was about to close the door Miyo saw Kiyoka with another woman. Kiyoka coldly said, “Miyo I want a divorce. You are useless, ugly, worthless, stupid burden. You couldn't even give me a son. I have met someone else who is prettier, more elegant, and she won't bring shame to the Kudo family.” Kanako gleefully laughed at Miyo as she slammed the door in her face. Miyo cried while she banged on the door begging to be let out. Miyo woke up in a cold sweat. Miyo started to cry hysterically. Kiyoka woke up with a concerned look on his face and asked, “Miyo what's wrong my darling?” Kiyoka got up and he turned on the lights. Kiyoka gently wrapped his arms around Miyo’s waist and he held her close. Miyo sobbed on his chest as Kiyoka ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair. Miyo fearfully said, “I don't want to go back to the storeroom. Please don't send me back there.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s forehead and he said, “Miyo I will never send you back to the storeroom. You are safe here with me. I love you Miyo.” Miyo sobbed softly on Kiyoka’s chest. Miyo tearfully said, “My nightmare was so horrible. My stepmother was dragging me through the Saimori estate by my hair. She threw me into the storeroom. Honey you were there too and you said that you were going to divorce me. Please don't leave me and our daughters my Kiyoka.” Miyo sobbed even harder and she started to hyperventilate. Kiyoka helped Miyo take slow and deep breaths until she stopped hyperventilating. Kiyoka caressed Miyo’s cheek and said, “Miyo I will never leave you and our daughters. I love you Miyo, you are my wife. I am going to stay by your side until death separates us. You mean the world to me my darling.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and he hugged her. Miyo replied, “I love you too honey. Please stay with me until I fall asleep.” Kiyoka affectionately stroked her cheek and said, “Okay my darling I will stay with you until you fall asleep.” Kiyoka got up from the bed to turn off the lights. He climbed back into bed next to Miyo. Kiyoka snuggled up next to Miyo and he lovingly kissed her belly and her lips. He wrapped her arms around her waist and he held her close to him. Kiyoka lovingly rocked Miyo in his arms. While he was rocking her Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s forehead, cheek, and lips. Kiyoka whispered sweet, loving, and encouraging words into her ear. He gently rocked her until she fell asleep.

Kiyoka’s heart broke, his poor precious Miyo had a terrible nightmare. It reminded him of the times when Miyo had terrible nightmares when she first came to live here. Kiyoka caressed Miyo’s cheek and he kissed her lips. Kiyoka hoped that Miyo would not have any more nightmares tonight. Kiyoka finally shut his eyes and he went back to sleep. Miyo had another nightmare. She dreamt that she lost the twins and their friends and family were around her calling her a terrible mother and a failure. Miyo woke up in a cold sweat again. Miyo frantically shook Kiyoka. Kiyoka woke up with a concerned look on his face. Miyo hysterically said, “I can't feel our daughters kicking and moving. I'm a terrible mother and wife.” Miyo started to cry again. Kiyoka pulled Miyo into a tight hug and said, “Miyo you are not a terrible wife or mother. My love, you are going to be a great mother.” Miyo shook her head no and said, “I couldn't even protect our daughters from my stepmother. I'm a failure.” Kiyoka gently wiped away her tears and said, “Miyo you are not a failure. Our daughters are going to be fine. They are going to be born healthy and strong. They are going to have all of their fingers and toes. Miyo, our daughters are safe, my love.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s hand and he gently placed her hand on her belly. A relieved smile came to Miyo’s lips as she felt her daughters move and kick inside her belly. Kiyoka lovingly placed his hand over her hand and said, “Our daughters are okay my love. Everything is going to be fine.” Miyo lovingly cradled her baby bump and said, “I love you so much my precious little angels.” Kiyoka and Miyo lovingly cradled her baby bump. Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and said, “I love you and our daughters so very much.” Miyo wiped her eyes and said, "I love you too honey." Miyo sighed as she laid back against Kiyoka’s chest. Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and asked, “Are you tired my darling?” Miyo yawned and said, “I'm so sleepy.” Kiyoka and Miyo laid down in each other's arms. Miyo asked, “Honey, could you please crank up my music box? I would like to hear some music.” Kiyoka stroked Miyo’s cheek and said, “Okay my darling I will crank up your music box.” Kiyoka got up and he walked over to the vanity and he cranked up Miyo’s music box. As the soft gentle melody played, Kiyoka got into bed next to Miyo and he wrapped his arms around Miyo’s waist. Miyo sighed softly as Kiyoka ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair. Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair until she fell asleep. Kiyoka whispered into Miyo’s ear and said, “Sweet dreams my precious Miyo. I love you so much my darling.” Kiyoka looked at the clock and it was 6:00 in the morning. He tiredly shut his eyes and went to sleep.

At 11:30 in the morning Tadakiyo knocked on their bedroom door. Kiyoka got up and he opened the door and he stepped out into the hallway. Tadakiyo said, “Good morning my son. It's time to start getting ready to go to the meeting. Kiyoka said, “Good morning father, let's do this.” Kiyoka and Tadakiyo walked into the sitting room where Fuyu was drinking her tea. She looked up at Kiyoka and said, “Good Morning my son. How is Miyo doing?” Kiyoka sadly replied, “Good morning mother. Miyo is not doing well. She had terrible nightmares all night. She was so scared and traumatized. She finally went to sleep at 6:00 in the morning.” Tadakiyo and Fuyu sadly replied, “Poor Miyo, she was so happy yesterday while we were shopping for baby supplies. Our hearts break for her.” Yurie came into the sitting room and said, “Good morning Young Master, would you like some breakfast? Has Lady Miyo woke up yet?” Kiyoka replied, “Good morning Yurie, yes I would love to have some breakfast. Miyo is still sleeping.” Kiyoka told Yurie about Miyo’s nightmares and how Miyo didn't go to sleep until 6:00 in the morning. Yurie sighed and said, “Oh my poor lady.” Yurie squeezed Kiyoka’s hands and said, “Lady Miyo is going to be alright. We have to be there for her.” Yurie made Kiyoka’s breakfast and Kiyoka sat down in the dining room to eat his breakfast. After he finished eating his breakfast Kiyoka took a bath. Kiyoka put on a clean kimono and he tied on his hair tie. Kiyoka walked back into their bedroom to kiss Miyo and their unborn daughters goodbye. He kissed Miyo on her lips and said, “I'm leaving now my darling. I will see you later please take care of yourself. I love you so much my love. I will be back soon my darling.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s belly and said, “See you later my precious little angels papa loves you so much.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and her belly again. Before he left the room caressed Miyo’s cheek and put her hair behind her ear. Kiyoka smiled softly and he quietly left the room. As he and his father left the house. Kiyoka said, “I'm going to a meeting with Shinichi and Kanako. Please look after my precious Miyo for me.” Yurie bowed and said, “Don’t worry my lord, I will watch over Lady Miyo.” Kiyoka thanked Yurie and he said goodbye to Yurie. Kiyoka and Tadakiyo got into the car. As Kiyoka drove away from the house he was ready to defend and protect Miyo and their family

Chapter 3

As Kiyoka and Tadakiyo drove to the Saimori family estate Kiyoka thought about respect and honor. As a kid who was being raised to be the head of the Kudo family. He knew what respect was and Kiyoka learned that you don't disrespect another family. During his time in the military Kiyoka learned another definition of respect. He learned to respect his fellow soldiers and he learned to respect his commanding officers. It angered Kiyoka on a very deep level to see his wife being disrespected. He didn't let anyone get away with disrespecting Miyo in front of his face. Kiyoka didn't allow his own mother to disrespect Miyo. He had to put his mother in her place when Miyo first met his parents. But now Fuyu respects Miyo and they have an amazing relationship now. So to find out that Miyo was disrespected by her father and stepmother made his blood boil. For Kiyoka, questioning his wife’s honor was the ultimate sign of disrespect. Kiyoka disliked his father in law and his stepmother in law the moment he met them. Thanks to his informant Kiyoka learned that Miyo was being abused and neglected. During their first meeting it took a lot of self control to not hit them with a lightning blast. Kiyoka realized now that he had three people that he wanted to defend and to protect his wife and daughters. As Kiyoka drove he gripped the steering wheel with a determined look in his eyes. Tadakiyo looked over at his son; he had never seen Kiyoka so upset and determined at the same time. Tadakiyo asked, “So son, what's the plan for the meeting?” Kiyoka looked over at his father and said, “The plan is for Shinichi and Kanako to be relaxed and comfortable. Once they are relaxed I'm going to write a check and then I am going to confront them.” Tadakiyo nodded and replied, “That is a great plan my son. We can't allow the lady of our family to be disrespected.” Tadakiyo was still angry at the events that happened last afternoon. His daughter in law was so hurt and broken. That was why he came to the meeting with Kiyoka. He wanted to defend his family and now that Miyo married his son and she is currently pregnant with their granddaughters she was a part of this family. Kiyoka and Tadakiyo spent the rest of the car ride in silence preparing themselves for the confrontation ahead.

Forty five minutes later Kiyoka pulled up to the Saimori estate. They got out of the car and they were welcomed by Koji, Kaya, and their servants. Koji bowed and said, “Welcome to my home Lord Kudo and Lord Tadakiyo Kudo.” Kiyoka bowed and said, “My father and I deeply appreciate the warm welcome, Lord and Lady Saimori. We are grateful that you were able to squeeze us in for a meeting.” Koji said, “Lord Kudo, why don't we continue our chat indoors?” Kiyoka and Tadakiyo followed Koji and Kaya into their home. As they walked through the home Kiyoka had to remind himself to stay calm. If he lost his temper too soon it would ruin his plan. They finally made it to the sitting room where they were having the meeting. Kiyoka and Tadakiyo entered the sitting room where they saw Shinichi and Kanako. Kiyoka saw the smug smiles on their faces. He wanted to wipe the smug smiles off of their faces. Kiyoka smiled stiffly and said, “Hello father and stepmother. How are you doing?” As Shinichi and Kanako talked about their feelings, Kiyoka tuned them out. Shinichi smirked and said, “Congratulations my son in law. I heard that Miyo is pregnant with twin daughters.” Kiyoka took a deep breath and felt anger and revulsion flowing through his body. He remembered that Kanako wished for their unborn daughters to die. Kiyoka smiled stiffly and said, “Miyo and I couldn't be more thrilled.” Kanako asked with a fake sweetness, “Does Miyo need any help getting baby supplies for your daughters. I can help with that.” Kaya almost rolled her eyes at her mother but she stopped herself. Kiyoka said, “No thank you, we have plenty of help.” Shinichi asked, “So how is my darling daughter Miyo doing? I haven't seen her in over a couple of years.” Kiyoka said, “Miyo is doing well, she can't wait to meet our daughters.” Shinichi smiled stiffly and said, “That's good I’m so happy for Miyo.”

After fifteen minutes of awkward and tense small talk. Kiyoka said, “Father, I want to discuss something important with you?” Shinichi and Kanako sat up with an arrogant and conceited air around them. Shinichi smiled an haughty smile and said, “Lord Kudo, what would you like to discuss with me?” Kiyoka said, “I was thinking about paying for Miyo’s dowry. We are married now so it makes sense. How much money do you want?” Kiyoka pulled out his checkbook out of his briefcase. Shinichi and Kanako looked at Kiyoka with a greedy and self-righteous glint in their eyes. Shinichi thought about it for a few minutes and he said, “I would say that ten thousand yen would be a perfect amount for Miyo’s dowry because I had to give away my precious daughter.” Kiyoka internally rolled his eyes. Kiyoka shook Shinichi's hand and said, “It’s a deal.” Kiyoka opened up his checkbook and started writing a check. Kiyoka finished writing the check and said, “Before I give you the money I want to ask you a question?” Shinichi said, “Sure anything my boy.” Kiyoka said, “So you haven't seen Miyo in three years right? So why were you and your wife at my home?” Shinichi and Kanako looked at each other. The arrogance and conceitedness was gone from their body language. Shinichi nervously replied, “I have no idea what you're talking about. I have never been to your house and I haven't seen Miyo in three years.” Kiyoka angrily answered, “You’re both lying to me. You've been in my home. You saw Miyo yesterday and you disrespected her. You disrespected me and my home. I have a witness and he saw both of you at my house.” Tadakiyo replied, “Yes you were at my son and daughter in law's home. You assaulted her and you said hurtful insults to Miyo.” Kanako bitterly said, “Lord Kudo, I can't believe that you're defending that thing. She's a ugly, useless, ungrateful, spoiled, and a stupid burden.” Kiyoka’s eyes turned an icy blue and the vein in his forehead throbbed. He yelled and said, “Don’t talk about my wife that way. Miyo is none of these things that you say. She is a beautiful, kind, compassionate, thoughtful, humble, determined, strong woman. I am glad and grateful that she is my wife.” Shinichi and Kanako scoffed and Shinichi said, “Whatever, who cares. Can we have the check now?” Kiyoka scowled and said, “I'm not giving you this check. Why would I pay a dowry to the people that abused, neglected, and mistreated my wife.” Kiyoka used his fire ability to burn up the check. Shinichi and Kanako looked at Kiyoka in shock and horror. Shinichi cried out as he picked up the ashes off of the floor. Shinichi bitterly said, “Miyo is nothing but trouble. I wish she was never born. I hate Miyo and Sumi. Lord Kudo you shouldn't have children with that thing. Her genes shouldn't be passed down.” Kiyoka saw red how dare he say such hurtful and cruel things about his wife and daughters. Perhaps this wasn't Kiyoka’s proudest moment; he punched Shinichi, knocking him out cold. Kanako screamed in shock and horror as she checked on Shinichi. Kiyoka looked over at Kanako and said in a low and menacing voice, “I want you and your husband to leave my wife and daughters alone. Don't talk to them. Don't look at them and don't even breathe in their direction. Do I make myself clear? If you hurt my precious Miyo or our daughters you're going to be dealing with me and it won't be pleasant.”

Shinichi woke up five minutes later. He said, “Lord Kudo, I demand that you give me a new check.” Kiyoka said, “I'm not giving you any money.” Shinichi angrily got in Kiyoka’s face. That was when Kiyoka grabbed Shinichi by the collar. There was a blue outline surrounding Kiyoka. Shinichi gulped nervously and he felt all of his hair standing on end. Kiyoka menacingly said, “I told you that I'm not paying my wife’s dowry. You better stay away from my family or we will have major issues. Do you understand me?” Shinichi gulped again and he nervously shook his head yes. Kiyoka released Shinichi from his grasp and Shinichi quickly crawled over to his seat. Shinichi said to Koji, “This isn't fair that we don't get our dowry. Lord Saimori, please make Lord Kudo give us our dowry back. Koji firmly said, “That is enough you're not getting your dowry back. I advise the both of you to leave Lady Miyo alone because I don’t want to have any issues with the Kudo family.” Shinichi and Kanako tried to plead their case to Koji but he refused. Koji bowed to Kiyoka and Tadakiyo and said, “I'm pleased that we were able to come to a resolution. I will make sure that Shinichi and Kanako won't bother you and your family. May you both have safe travels.” Kiyoka and Tadakiyo bowed and they thanked Koji and Kaya for their hospitality. They got up and they left the room. Kiyoka felt much better because he was able to defend his precious Miyo’s honor. Kiyoka and Tadakiyo made it to Kiyoka’s car. They entered the car and both men sighed. Tadakiyo replied, “I can't believe that Miyo lived like that.” Kiyoka said, “I know my poor precious Miyo.” Tadakiyo smirked and replied, “Son, that was a great punch. You should have seen the look on Kanako's face.” The men laugh loudly at the joke. Kiyoka wiped away a tear from his eyes and said, “Father, we are going into town. I want to get Miyo some flowers and some macarons. Tadakiyo patted Kiyoka’s shoulder and said, “Sure thing my son, that is a great idea.” The men drove towards town. An hour later they were in town and they parked at the Special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit headquarters. Kiyoka and Tadakiyo walked to the flower shop. Kiyoka brought a bouquet of pink roses and white lilies for Miyo. Then they went to the sweets shop to pick up some macarons for Miyo.

Meanwhile back at home Miyo woke up at 1:30 in the afternoon. Fuyu peeked into the room and said, “Good afternoon my daughter, how did you sleep?” Miyo yawned and said, “I slept okay. Mother, how did you sleep?” Fuyu smiled and said, “I slept well. I'm glad you're doing better.” Fuyu helped Miyo change into a clean kimono. Fuyu said, “Miyo let me brush your hair.” Miyo sat down at her vanity and Fuyu started to comb and brush her hair. Miyo sadly looked at herself in the mirror. Miyo said, “I'm not beautiful, I am so ugly.” Fuyu’s heart broke. She felt terrible for Miyo having to grow up in that horrible household. Fuyu replied, “Miyo you are not ugly. I woke up and he was gone.” Arata said, “Kiyoka had some business to take care of, he'll be back soon.” Miyo was disappointed because she missed him. Yurie walked into the sitting room and said, “Hello my lady I am glad that you are awake. Would you like some lunch?” Miyo shook her head yes and she went into the dining room. Everyone kept Miyo company while she ate lunch. Miyo rubbed her baby bump and sighed. After Miyo finished eating lunch everyone went to the sitting room. Miyo laid her head on Hazuki’s shoulder. Miyo feared that Kiyoka was going to leave her for another woman who is more beautiful than her. Miyo knew that she wasn't beautiful enough to be married to Kiyoka. That's why he isn't here with her. Miyo started to cry as Hazuki hugged Miyo. Hazuki asked, “Don’t cry little sister, everything is going to be alright.” Hazuki and Fuyu tried to comfort Miyo but she was too upset. Meanwhile back in town Kiyoka and Tadakiyo finished shopping and they got into the car. Kiyoka couldn't wait to get back home to Miyo and their daughters; he missed them. Kiyoka drove out of the town.

Thirty minutes later Kiyoka and Tadakiyo were home. Tadakiyo grabbed the vanilla macarons and Kiyoka had Miyo’s flowers. The two men entered the entryway and Yurie greeted them. Yurie bowed and said, “Welcome home my lords.” Tadakiyo smiled at Yurie and he went into the sitting room. Kiyoka asked, “How was Miyo today? Did she eat anything today?” Yurie replied, “Lady Miyo is okay although she is still really sad. I made Lady Miyo some Japanese cream stew with rice and a warm vegetable salad. She managed to eat all of it.” Kiyoka sighed and said, “I'm glad that she ate but I'm still worried about her.” Yurie squeezed Kiyoka’s shoulder and she went into the kitchen to start cooking dinner. As Kiyoka walked into the sitting room he could hear that Miyo was crying. Kiyoka’s heart broke into pieces hearing his sweet precious Miyo cries. Kiyoka softly said, “Don’t cry my darling. What's wrong, my love?” Miyo looked up and she rushed over to Kiyoka and she collapsed into his arms. Kiyoka made sure that he didn't crush the flowers up against Miyo’s back. I had errands to run today.” Miyo sobbed softly on Kiyoka’s chest as Kiyoka ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair. After a while Kiyoka said, “I have a surprise for you my darling.” Kiyoka gave Miyo the flowers and the vanilla macarons. Miyo smiled softly and said, “Thank you honey, these flowers are lovely. You got my favorite flavor of macarons. Thank you so much honey.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and said, “I wanted to do something nice for you to cheer you up. I love you Miyo.” Miyo smiled and said, “I love you too honey.” Miyo went to put the flowers in a crystal vase. Miyo sat in Kiyoka’s lap as Kiyoka ran his fingers through Miyo’s hair. Miyo blushed and she lovingly cradled her baby bump. Fifteen minutes later Yurie came into the sitting room. She bowed and said, “Lady Miyo, you have a phone call. It is your sister Lady Kaya.” Miyo sighed softly and said, “Thank you Yurie I'm coming.” Miyo got up from the couch and she left the sitting room. When Miyo left the sitting room Kiyoka told everyone about the meeting. Yoshirou said, “I can't believe that you punched Shinichi. Oh what would I give to be in the room when it happened.” Arata replied, “Are you sure that Shinichi and Kanako won't bother Miyo anymore.” Kiyoka had a serious look in his eyes. Kiyoka said, “We won't have to worry about them anymore because if they do anything to hurt her they will have to deal with me.” Arata and everyone else looked relieved. Ten minutes later Miyo finished talking to Kaya on the phone. Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and asked, “How was your chat with Kaya? Are you hungry, my love?” Miyo said, “Kaya just called to see if I was okay. I am pretty hungry.” Twenty minutes later Yurie finished making dinner and everyone went into the dining room to eat. After dinner Kiyoka, Arata, Yoshirou, Tadakiyo, Hazuki, and Fuyu had a lively conversation. Miyo was snuggled up with Kiyoka and she was still emotionally drained from the events that happened yesterday. After a while guests started to leave until only Kiyoka, Miyo, Fuyu, Yurie, and Tadakiyo were left. Yurie took the dirty teacups to the kitchen. Before Yurie left she said, “Goodnight my lords and ladies. May you all rest well.” After Yurie left Tadakiyo and Fuyu were tired. They told Kiyoka and Miyo goodnight and they went to bed. Kiyoka and Miyo each took a bath and they got ready for bed. When they got to their bedroom Miyo sat on the side of their bed. Miyo softly asked, “Kiyoka do you think I'm beautiful?” Kiyoka walked over to Miyo and he caressed her cheek. He said, “Miyo darling of course I think that you're beautiful.” Miyo shook her head no as tears fell down Miyo’s face. Miyo said, “I'm not beautiful. I'm fat and ugly. I don't deserve to be your wife.” Kiyoka gently wiped away her tears and he tenderly kissed her on the lips. He said, “My darling you are so beautiful. You’re even more beautiful now that you're pregnant. Your skin glows and eyes sparkle and shine bright like two diamonds. Miyo my love you deserve to be my wife I don't want to be with anyone else.” Kiyoka guided Miyo to sit on his lap. Miyo blushed and said, “Are you sure honey?” Kiyoka passionately kissed Miyo on her lips and said, “I'm more than sure.” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips as Miyo wrapped her arms around his neck causing Kiyoka to deepen the kiss. The next morning Miyo woke up. She looked up at Kiyoka and she smiled. Miyo remembered yesterday she was so depressed and angry. Kiyoka was excited because he couldn't wait for his daughters to get here. They had a lively conversation until lunch. After lunch Tadakiyo and Fuyu packed their travelling trunks and they were going to go back home. When Tadakiyo’s and Fuyu’s car arrived the driver put both of their travelling trunks in the car. Tadakiyo hugged Kiyoka and said, “Son, I'm so proud of you. You stood up for your wife and daughters. You did a great job my son.” Kiyoka smiled and said, “Thank you father, that means a lot to me.” Fuyu hugged Miyo and said, “I had a lot of fun shopping with you. I am so glad that you are feeling better. Take care Miyo.” Tadakiyo hugged Miyo and said, “Fuyu and I are glad that you are a part of our family. Please look after yourself and my granddaughters.” Fuyu hugged Kiyoka and said, “I am proud of you Kiyoka. Take care of yourself and Miyo.” Kiyoka and Miyo said, “Farewell mother and father, may your journey home be safe.” Tadakiyo and Fuyu got into the car and they drove away. Miyo yawned tiredly and she said, “Honey I am so tired. Do you want to cuddle with me?” Kiyoka kissed Miyo’s lips and he picked up Miyo in his arms. Miyo squealed in surprise as he carried her down the hallway towards their bedroom. Kiyoka gently laid Miyo down on their bed. Kiyoka and Miyo each changed into their yukatas and they climbed back into bed. Miyo and Kiyoka cuddled and kissed until they both fell asleep.
