Each step you take, it echoes into the great expanse of nothingness. All you see are trees, tall as far as your eyes could perceive, as if it yearned to reach the stars that lit up the skies. The grass, eerily crimson, stuck onto your shoes, eternally wet with dew. You hoped it was dew. Red and purple blurred together like gradients across the forest, akin to a painting. It was breathtaking, so surreal , too perfect to be true.
And perhaps it was all a fluke. Perhaps it was a mere trap, like the sweet scent a Venus flytrap secretes to lure unsuspecting flies into its hungry maws. The illusion of something so serene; the silent crashing of a waterfall somewhere, the stars endlessly glittering with constellations you can’t recognize, and the feeling of your mind slowly slipping away, the ability to think growing harder and harder to maintain the longer you stay.
It terrified you that you find yourself not against it.
“ You needn't think.”
“Not anymore.”
Your skin crawled as whispers, along with the faint tune of an unknown symphony, filled your ears. Your eyes scanned your surroundings, yet you see nothing that could be the source of the sounds. You weren’t alone— it was made clear by the voices that muttered quietly as you traversed this so-called ‘paradise’. You could feel someone’s, something’s hot breath fanned against your ear, to whisper multitudes of reassurances, to keep walking, that you are so close .
A loud, wet crunch! came from the sole of your shoe, and you felt cold at the sight that beheld your eyes. You had stepped on a human skull, fragile— but how ? How long has it been there for it to crumble like dust as soon as you’ve put your weight upon it? Suddenly, the gentle wind that was once blowing through the leaves, making them dance, grew still. The music had long stopped, as well the whispers that you had begun to find comfort in.
You didn’t want to look.
Your body wouldn’t move .
If you looked further into the forest, you knew you’d find more bones. Fresh, and old— your knees grow weak, and your mouth went dry as realization sunk into your skin that the grass was stained with blood .
It almost made you hurl, and your heart was beating hard against your chest.
You had to find an exit, now.
You can’t stay here any longer.
What once were promises of a paradise, now shattered into pieces, to reveal its true nature. Numbing the minds of the weak, chaining them down with the pretense of an endless pool of bliss; all they needed to do was give in and embrace their doom.
You turned around, retaking the steps you’ve taken, in hopes of finding an escape, when you saw him.
He stood next to a tree, hand on its trunk, as he gave you a sickeningly sweet smile. One that you adore so much, it makes your stomach churn. From affection or from disgust, you didn’t know. What you do know is that whoever was standing before you, was not your Builderman. Something sinister lied beneath his smile, and his eyes— it captured the same gentle fondness it held, the subtle wrinkles of the corners of his eyes would have at each smile, yet you can see the faint glow of red.
A shaky breath left your lips when he took slow steps towards you. You wanted to run, to hide , from the danger this thing poses against you. But your body remained still, as if your brain had lost all control of each individual fiber of your being, rendering you helpless for what was about to happen.
Builderman opened his mouth and called out your name, and it was akin to sweet nectar rolling off your tongue—he said it as if it naturally belonged to his lips, to be spoken again and again, your name, a prayer to his devotion. His voice is so gentle, so soothing, it makes the hairs on your forearms stand. Your insides melt, and your shoulders loosen. You didn’t understand why you were letting your guard down so easily at the mere mention of your name; your mind was slipping away again, eyes locked into his as logic slowly fades into obscurity.
What was this? You were terrified, your mind blare alarms that this was dangerous , that this was not who you think it is, but your body leaned closer when he reached out to you. When he opened his arms, inviting you into a warm embrace, the wind blew cold out of nowhere; clutching your arms and rubbing your skin, you tried your best to create warmth for yourself, yet the forest just became colder, and Builderman’s invitation grew more and more enticing.
Weak , your mind insults you, yet you took upon Builderman’s offer and wrapped your arms around him. Immediately, you melt like butter against his body, his embrace felt like the hearth of a fireplace, warmth spreading throughout your body as you buried your face onto his neck. Your cold hands clutched onto his hoodie, and he rested his chin atop your head. You yearned to hear more of his voice, your body trembling, grasping at your sanity that was slowly chipping away. And somehow, he grants you this silent wish by whispering soft affirmations, encouragement and promises into your ear, his voice, addicting, his lips ghosting over your skin, until it is the only thing you can think about. The only thing you can hear, feel, and see; his voice, his crimson eyes, his hot touch—you can feel his voice wrap around your body like a vice, like a trap , leading you to your impending doom.
Not that you cared, though. You shouldn’t, don’t think too much about it.
You don’t need to think at all, let him handle everything for you. Let him take care of you.
His presence outweighs your death.
If you can spend more on him, this would all be worth it, is it not?
Your mind screams to be set free, but it is far too late. Like the claws of a predator, it has already claimed your mind and shackled you into this prison of eternal paradise. In the arms of someone you cared so deeply for, you are bound to stay forever.
You wouldn’t mind that, right?
That’s right, you shouldn’t.
“T-tell me more,” You rasp, desperate, as your arms cling onto his. You look up at him, and you see him smile, ear to ear, skin stretching almost uncannily, full of glee, and he mutters sweet words into your ears once more, without hesitation, lulling you into a never ending dream.
I need him to kiss me.
You thought inside your mind, and your face flushed at the absurdity of it, hiding your face into his chest. Yet Builderman ceased his mindless humming, fingers now slowly trailing up your body, and you feel him grasp your chin. Your breath hitched, lifting your head to look at him, eyes locking with each other.
Can… Can he read your mind? Perhaps he can simply sense your desire.
Perhaps this was this level’s tactic to keep you here; trapped in prison full of blissful wishes that will always come into reality.
Though, who are you to refuse such a tempting gift?
You don’t deny it. Never has the thought of rejecting it has crossed your mind, you merely held onto his shoulders and tilted your head, easily giving him access, offering yourself without a sliver of caution. You closed your eyes, and you felt his lips connect with yours.
It burned—the kiss. Passionate, full of reverent adoration, and a desire that slowly blossomed into fruition. He kissed you hard, teeth clacking, drool seeped out of your lips and dribbled down your chin. It deepened, it was getting harder to breathe , biting your lip; sharp canines digging onto fragile skin and making you let out a pained cry. But that didn’t stop him from swallowing any noise you made, practically devouring you, tongue deep into your mouth, claiming every inch as his own as he pressed you closer to him. Lips languidly moved against each other, his was forceful and overpowering, so much so that it made your knees weak and body helpless. You were lightheaded, gasping for air in between the kisses, at a loss for what to do other than just kiss him back as he sucked your breath away with a long, sloppy and blissful kiss.
It was more than Heaven can ever offer.
It was more than Hell could ever tempt.
This was everything you could’ve asked for, everything you needed.
Just him, and him alone.
Builderman.
In this sickening, blistering cold paradise.
You part, for a brief moment, and your body weightless, releasing a shaky breath from the dizzying kiss. Your fists balled onto his hoodie as you grit your teeth, bodies pressed impossibly closer to his, practically weaving your bodies together, so you’d no longer separate. You part your lips again, and you lean close to his face, smoke escaping your lips from each breath you took, the cold making your lips numb. However, you still wanted to kiss you, to taste him again, make your lips buzz in delight.
Insatiable, is what he made you feel, greedily asking for more and more until it is the only thing you could ever possibly need for survival.
And all Builderman did was smile; wider and wider, and the mutual hunger was not unnoticed. He teased you, as if he didn’t want the same, claws digging into the supple skin of your waist through the fabric of your clothes, his other hand cradled your face, sharp claws threatening to cut, something you’d deliriously accept and thank him for, and it made his chest burst with a wild sense of possessiveness.
You’re never going anywhere anymore.
You’re never leaving, not with you in his arms.
Not when you’re in his possession.
This is what you’ve wished for, isn’t it?
That’s right, this is paradise.
And you’ll be here, forever and ever and ever and ever and ever…
