Chapter 1: Chance Meeting

Chapter Text

Derek Hale had always been a lone wolf, both literally and figuratively. But everything changed the moment he saw him and felt his wolf howl in response to his mate: Stiles Stilinski. There was a pull he couldn't ignore, a connection that demanded his attention. And so, Derek found himself watching over Stiles from the shadows, ensuring his safety without ever revealing his presence.

Derek's days were now filled with silent vigilance. He followed Stiles' routine, learning his schedule and habits. He knew when Stiles had classes when he took breaks, and when he headed to his favourite coffee shop. Derek made sure to stay out of sight, blending into the background as he observed Stiles' every move.

From a distance, Derek admired Stiles' energy and determination. He watched as Stiles tackled his studies with a mix of focus and frustration, often muttering to himself as he worked through homework problems. Derek couldn't help but smile at Stiles' quirks, finding them endearing.

One evening, Derek followed Stiles to the library. He watched as Stiles settled into a corner, surrounded by books and notes. Derek positioned himself at a nearby table, pretending to read while keeping a watchful eye on Stiles. He noticed the way Stiles' brow furrowed in concentration, the way he absentmindedly chewed on the end of his pen. Derek felt a protective instinct surge within him, knowing he would do anything to keep Stiles safe.

As the weeks went by, Derek's feelings for Stiles grew stronger. He found himself drawn to Stiles' laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering loyalty to his friends. Derek knew he had to find a way to approach Stiles, to make their connection known without scaring him away.

After 5 months of following his mate, Derek feels ready to actually meet him.

One afternoon, Derek saw his opportunity. He noticed Stiles heading towards his favourite coffee shop and decided to stage a "chance" encounter. Derek positioned himself near the entrance, waiting for the perfect moment.

As Stiles left the coffee shop, sipping his freshly made drink, Derek made his move. He stepped forward, pretending to be distracted, and bumped into Stiles, causing his coffee to spill all over the pavement.

"Oh, crap!" Stiles exclaimed, looking up to apologise. His words caught in his throat as he met the intense gaze of the man he had bumped into. Dark hair, piercing eyes, and an effortlessly rugged look—Stiles was instantly amazed by how incredibly handsome the stranger was.

A very attractive stranger with a short neatly trimmed beard, sharp forest green eyes, black hair artfully styled, and big, expression-filled eyebrows that Stiles immediately falls in love with. This man, carved by the gods, is holding him in a strong yet soft grip, preventing him from falling.

“You okay?” The man asks, and Stiles mutely nods, still in awe over the Greek god before him. “Nothing broken?” The man asks, and Stiles, lost in the man’s eyes, shakes his head slowly. “Sorry about your coffee,” The man says, and this time, Stiles forcefully shakes his head to fully concentrate on the man.

“No… yes… I mean, it's okay. It’s just coffee, a little coffee never hurt anyone” Stiles stumbles through.

"Sorry about that," Derek said, looking at the papers on the ground, his voice deep and steady, despite the fluttering in his chest.

Stiles, still reeling from the initial shock and utterly smitten, managed to pull himself together. "No worries. I guess I should watch where I'm going," he said with a half-smile, trying not to stare too obviously at Derek's striking features.

Derek bent down to help Stiles pick up the spilled coffee cup and scattered papers. "Let me buy you another coffee to make up for it," he offered, hoping to extend their encounter.

“No, it's okay, it wasn’t you’re fault. It was mine, I wasn’t looking where I was going, and I should properly start, because I never look where I am going, always running into walls, doors and people. Though, I run into walls and doors, more than I do people, I truly am sorry about that. I have this assignment due on Monday, which is why I was at the cafe, they gave me coffee and sugar to continue studying all day, but it got busy and loud, and I can’t concentrate when it’s loud, I have to have a small amount of noise to study, so this place is usually perfect, but when I have to study in the library or my dorm room, I tend to study with music. 80S, 90s, 2000s, mostly, but lately my professor suggested classical….” Stiles finally stops when he realises that he’s been rambling to this perfect god of a human. “Sorry”

The man laughs and Stiles almost melts at the sound. “I like to study with music too.” The man smiles, and Stiles’ brain turns to mush at the sight of his bunny teeth. “But really, it’s my fault this time. Let me buy you another. I know a great place down the road, less busy”

“S-Sure” Stiles stutters and follows the man lead down the road to a small hole-in-the-wall cafe. The place looked homey and soft. The man leads Stiles to a table and even holds the chair out for him. Stiles has to stop himself from swooning.

“What coffee would you like?” Derek asks as if he didn’t already know what coffee Stiles likes to drink. Double shot mocha with 5 sugars.

“D-double s-shot mocha with 5 sugars” Stiles stumbles out, too lost in the man’s eyes.

“Coming right up” Derek smiles and goes to get their coffee while Stiles immediately gets his phone out and calls Lydia.

“How do you know if you’re dreaming or not?” Stiles asks as soon as Lydia answers.

“Count your figures” Lydia replies, “Why?”

“Because I ran into this unbelievably handsome guy, and instead of being angry, he smiled and offered to buy me another coffee. He held the door open and held my chair out for me Lydia!”

“What’s his name?” Lydia asks, “I want to look him up”

“I…” Stiles goes to respond but realises he doesn’t actually know. “I’m not sure” Stiles slowly answers. Just then, Derek comes back with their drinks. “He’s back, I gonna go” Stiles whispers and hands up.

“Girlfriend?” Derek asks, even though he could hear that it was Lydia, his best friend.

“NO!” Stiles shouts and immediately blushes in embarrassment. “No, just my best friend, Lydia. Which reminds me…” Stiles holds out his hand, “I’m Stiles”

Derek takes his hand, “Derek” He smiles. Derek asked about Stiles' classes and interests, genuinely interested in getting to know him. Stiles, finding Derek's presence both comforting and overwhelmingly attractive, shared stories about his college life and his quirky hobbies, his words tumbling out in an excited ramble.

"You know, I can't believe I bumped into you—literally, ha! My day's been all over the place. First, I overslept because my alarm decided to take a vacation, then I spilled my breakfast all over my notes, and now this. But hey, at least I get to have coffee with a ridiculously handsome stranger, so I guess my luck's turning around!" Stiles chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Derek listened intently, a small smile playing on his lips. He found Stiles' rambling endearing, appreciating the unfiltered honesty and enthusiasm. "Sounds like quite a day," Derek said, his voice warm. "I'm glad I could be a part of it."

The conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared interests. Stiles couldn't shake the feeling that there was something magnetic about Derek, while Derek was captivated by Stiles' wit and energy.

After an hour of talking, Stiles realised he had to get back to his dorm. "I should probably head out, but it was really nice talking to you, Derek."

"Yeah, you too, Stiles. Maybe we can do this again sometime?" Derek asked, hoping to see Stiles again.

"Definitely," Stiles replied with a smile, his mind still reeling from the encounter. "How about next week, same time, same place?"

Derek's eyes lit up with genuine happiness. "I'd love that."As Stiles walked away, Derek felt a sense of satisfaction and excitement. He had finally made the first move, and it had gone better than he could have hoped. Watching Stiles leave, Derek knew that this was just the beginning of something special. Their connection was undeniable, and Derek was determined to explore it further, one coffee date at a time.

Stiles was still buzzing with excitement as he entered his dorm room. His heart was racing, and his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts about Derek. He couldn't wait to tell his friends about the incredibly handsome stranger he had just met.

Stiles grabbed his phone and sent a quick text to his best friends, Scott and Lydia, asking them to meet him at their usual hangout spot. Within minutes, they were gathered in the cosy corner of the campus cafe.

Scott raised an eyebrow, sensing Stiles' enthusiasm. "What's got you so hyped up, Stiles? Did you finally ace that test?"

Stiles shook his head, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Nope, even better. I met someone. And not just anyone—a ridiculously handsome guy named Derek."

Lydia's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Oh really? Tell us more."

Stiles took a deep breath, struggling to contain his excitement. "Okay, so here's what happened. I was leaving the coffee shop, minding my own business, when I literally bumped into this guy. I spilled my coffee everywhere, but that's not the point. Derek… he's tall, dark-haired, and has the most mesmerising eyes I've ever seen. I mean, seriously, this guy looks like he stepped out of a magazine."

Scott chuckled, amused by Stiles' rambling. "Sounds like quite the encounter. Did you get his number?"

Stiles shook his head, his enthusiasm undeterred. "No, we didn't exchange numbers, but we talked for an hour! He bought me a new coffee, and we just clicked, you know? We talked about everything—classes, hobbies, you name it. And get this, he actually listened to me ramble on and on. Most people would zone out or try to change the subject, but Derek was genuinely interested. It was amazing."

Lydia smiled, leaning in closer. "So, when's the next date?"

Stiles' grin widened. "Next week, same time, same place. I can't believe my luck. This guy is like a dream come true."

Scott patted Stiles on the back. "I'm happy for you, man. Just take things slow and see where it goes."

Stiles nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Yeah, you're right. I just can't shake this feeling that there's something special about him. I guess we'll see what happens."

Lydia raised her coffee cup in a toast. "To new beginnings and exciting possibilities."

Stiles and Scott clinked their cups with hers, all of them smiling at the prospect of what the future might hold. As Stiles recounted his encounter with Derek, he felt a sense of hope and anticipation. He knew that this was just the beginning of a thrilling new chapter in his life.

Derek sat at a nearby table, his heightened werewolf hearing allowing him to eavesdrop on Stiles' conversation with his friends. He listened intently, a small smile forming on his lips as he heard Stiles' excited rambling and the way he described their encounter.

Hearing Stiles call him ‘ridiculously handsome’ and ‘amazing’ made Derek's heart swell with happiness. He was relieved to know that Stiles felt the same connection and was looking forward to seeing him again.

Derek knew he had to be careful, but he couldn't help but feel excited about their next meeting. He was determined to make it as special as their first encounter. Derek watched Stiles and his friends laugh, he was excited to where this could go.

Chapter 2: The Second Coffee Date

Chapter Text

A week had passed since their first encounter, and Stiles couldn't stop thinking about Derek. He replayed their conversation in his mind, feeling a giddy excitement every time he remembered Derek's handsome features and the way he listened so intently. As the day of their second coffee date approached, Stiles felt a mix of anticipation and nervousness.

Stiles arrived at the cafe a bit early, wanting to make sure he got a good table by the window. He ordered his usual coffee and settled into a cosy corner, glancing around anxiously for any sign of Derek. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Derek walk through the door, looking effortlessly cool in a leather jacket and dark jeans.

Derek spotted Stiles immediately and made his way over, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Hey, Stiles," he greeted, his voice like a soothing balm.

"Hey, Derek," Stiles replied, his heart racing. "Glad you could make it."

"Wouldn't miss it," Derek said, taking a seat across from Stiles. "How's your week been?"

Stiles launched into a spirited recount of his week, his words spilling out in a rapid-fire ramble. "Oh, you know, the usual. Classes are a nightmare, but I'm surviving. I had this one professor who gave us a pop quiz out of nowhere. Seriously, who does that? And then, I had to help Scott with his research project, which was a whole other adventure. But hey, enough about me. How was your week?"

Derek chuckled, enjoying Stiles' animated storytelling. "It was good. Nothing too exciting, just work and the usual routine. I did look forward to today, though."

Stiles felt a warmth spread through him at Derek's words. "Me too. I've been counting down the days."

They spent the next hour talking about everything and anything. Stiles shared more about his studies, his friends, and his quirky hobbies, while Derek opened up about his work and his love for the outdoors. The conversation flowed effortlessly, punctuated by laughter and shared smiles.

At one point, Stiles couldn't help but mention how grateful he was for their chance meeting. "You know, I still can't believe we ran into each other like that. It's like fate or something."

Derek's lips curled into a smirk, his eyes glinting with something unspoken. "Maybe it is. I'm just glad we did."

Stiles was smitten by Derek's confidence and the way he seemed so genuinely interested in everything he said. He found himself drawn to Derek in a way he couldn't quite explain.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow through the cafe windows, Stiles realised it was time to head back to his dorm. "I should probably get going, but I had a great time, Derek."

"Me too, Stiles," Derek said, his gaze lingering on Stiles. "How about we do this again next week?"

Stiles' smile was radiant. "I'd love that."

Derek's expression grew more intense, a hint of possessiveness in his eyes. "Same time, same place. I'll be here."

Stiles nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity. As he walked away, he couldn't help but think, ‘I can't believe someone like Derek wants to hang out with a guy like me’.

Derek watched Stiles walk away, his heart full of happiness and satisfaction. His plan was working perfectly. Watching Stiles leave, Derek knew that this was just the beginning of something special, and Derek was determined to make Stiles his.

Chapter 3: Watching

Chapter Text

Derek Hale watched Stiles walk away from the cafe, his heart swelling with a mix of happiness and satisfaction. His plan was working perfectly, and he was thrilled to get to spend time with Stiles. But as much as he enjoyed their time together, Derek couldn't shake the protective instinct that urged him to keep a close watch over Stiles.

As Stiles disappeared from view, Derek slipped into the shadows, his heightened senses allowing him to follow Stiles without being detected. He moved silently, his eyes never leaving Stiles as he navigated the bustling campus. Derek's heart raced with a mix of excitement and possessiveness, knowing that he was the silent guardian watching over his destined mate.

Stiles, oblivious to Derek's presence, walked back to his dorm with a spring in his step. He couldn't believe his luck—someone as handsome and intriguing as Derek wanted to spend time with him. Stiles' mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, replaying their conversation and the way Derek had listened so intently.

Derek followed Stiles at a safe distance, his keen hearing picking up snippets of Stiles' excited rambling. He couldn't help but smile at the way Stiles' mind seemed to jump from one topic to another, his enthusiasm infectious. Derek felt a deep sense of affection for Stiles, knowing that he would do anything to protect him.

As Stiles reached his dorm, Derek found a discreet spot to watch from. He observed Stiles' interactions with his friends, noting the way they laughed and joked together. Derek's heart swelled with pride, knowing that Stiles was surrounded by people who cared about him.

But Derek's protective instincts never wavered. He knew that the world could be dangerous, and he was determined to keep Stiles safe from any harm. As the night wore on, Derek remained vigilant, his eyes never leaving Stiles' dorm.

When the lights in Stiles' room finally went out, Derek allowed himself a moment of relief. He knew that Stiles was safe for the night, but his watchful vigil would continue. Derek was determined to be there for Stiles, to protect him and cherish the bond they shared.

As Derek slipped away into the night, he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation for their next meeting.

Stiles sat in his criminology class, trying to keep his focus on the professor's lecture about criminal profiling. The room was filled with the sound of pens scribbling on paper and the occasional murmur of students, but Stiles' mind was somewhere else entirely.

He tapped his pen against his notebook, his thoughts drifting back to Derek. Stiles couldn't help but replay their coffee meetings in his head. Derek's intense gaze and the way he listened so attentively had left a lasting impression on him.

He couldn't shake the image of Derek's rugged good looks and those piercing eyes that seemed to see right through him. Why am I so obsessed with this guy? Stiles wondered, a small smile tugging at his lips.

He glanced around the classroom, noticing that most of his classmates were diligently taking notes. Stiles sighed, knowing he should be doing the same, but his mind was completely preoccupied. I need to focus, he told himself, though he knew it was easier said than done.

As the professor continued to talk about behavioural analysis, Stiles allowed his thoughts to wander for just a moment longer. He couldn't help but wonder what Derek was doing right now. Is he thinking about me, too?

Stiles shook his head slightly, trying to push the thought away. He needed to concentrate on his studies, but Derek's enigmatic presence was hard to ignore. He couldn't wait for their next coffee date, eager to learn more about the man who had captured his attention so completely.

The weeks continued to pass, and Stiles and Derek fell into a comfortable routine of meeting at the cafe every week. Stiles looked forward to these dates with a mix of excitement and curiosity, eager to learn more about the enigmatic Derek. Each meeting seemed to bring them closer, their connection deepening with every shared story and laugh.

One afternoon, as they sat in their usual spot by the window, Stiles felt a surge of boldness. "You know, Derek, we've been doing this coffee thing for a while now. How about we try something different for a change?"

Derek raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on his lips. "What do you have in mind?"

Stiles shrugged, trying to play it cool. "There's this park nearby. We could grab our coffee to go and take a walk?"

Derek's smile widened. "That sounds great. Let's do it."

They ordered their coffees to go and headed to the park, chatting about their week. The park was a peaceful escape from the bustling campus, with winding paths and blooming flowers. As they walked, Stiles felt a sense of calm wash over him.

Stiles relaxed, enjoying Derek's company. They strolled through the park, talking about everything from their favourite movies to childhood memories. At one point, Stiles noticed a particularly beautiful flower and turned to Derek. "Look at that! Nature's pretty amazing, huh?"

Derek studied the flower for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, it is."

Stiles smiled, feeling good about their time together. "I'm glad we did this. It's nice to see another side of you."

Derek's gaze softened. "I enjoy spending time with you, no matter what we're doing."

Stiles felt his cheeks warm. "Same here."

After they left the park, Derek walked Stiles back to his dorm. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the campus. They paused at the entrance, reluctant to say goodbye.

"I had a great time today," Stiles said, his voice sincere.

"Me too," Derek replied, his eyes steady. "Let's do this again soon."

"Definitely," Stiles agreed, feeling anticipation for their next meeting. As Stiles watched Derek walk away, he couldn't believe how much his life had changed since they met. He felt a sense of excitement about their journey ahead.

Derek, too, felt satisfied as he walked away. His plan was unfolding perfectly.

Derek observed Stiles in various settings—at the library, during his classes, and even when he hung out with his friends. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as he watched Stiles navigate his daily life with energy and determination. Derek was captivated by Stiles' quirks and the way he seemed to bring light to every room he entered.

Chapter 4: Friends

Chapter Text

Stiles was bubbling with excitement as he recounted his latest coffee date with Derek to his friends. "You guys won't believe it! Derek and I went for a walk in the park, and it was amazing. He's so different from anyone I've ever met. I mean, he's got this intense gaze that just... I don't know, it feels like he's really seeing me, you know?"

Scott chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "Sounds like you're really into him, Stiles."

Lydia smiled, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Tell us more about him. What does he do?"

Stiles launched into a rapid-fire ramble, his words tumbling out with enthusiasm. "Well, he's got this quiet, mysterious vibe, but when he talks, it's like every word matters. He's into the outdoors and loves hiking and stuff. And he listens to me, like really listens. Most people would get bored or try to change the subject, but Derek... he makes me feel heard."

Scott raised an eyebrow. "So, when's your next date?"

Stiles grinned. "We're meeting again next week. I can't wait. I just feel like there's something special about him."

Lydia leaned in closer. "Do you think he's the one?"

Stiles' smile faltered slightly as he considered the question. "I don't know. It's too soon to say, but I can't deny that there's a connection. I guess we'll just have to see where it goes."
________________________________________________________________

As Derek continued to listen to Stiles' conversation with his friends, a sense of unease settled in his chest. When Stiles admitted that he wasn't sure if Derek could be "the one," Derek felt a pang of disappointment. He had hoped that their growing connection would be enough to convince Stiles of their bond.

Derek's mind raced with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he understood that it was still early in their relationship and that Stiles needed time to figure things out. On the other hand, Derek couldn't shake the feeling of frustration that Stiles didn't see what he saw—their undeniable connection.

As he watched Stiles laugh and chat with his friends, Derek's protective instincts kicked in. He was determined to prove to Stiles that their bond was special, that they were meant to be together. Derek knew he had to be patient, but the thought of losing Stiles was unbearable.

That night, as Derek kept his silent vigil outside Stiles' dorm, he couldn't help but replay the conversation in his mind. He resolved to show Stiles just how much he cared, to be there for him in every way possible. Derek was determined to protect Stiles, not just from external threats, but from any doubts and insecurities that might stand in the way of their relationship.
________________________________________________________________

As the days passed, Derek and Stiles continued to look forward to their weekly coffee dates. Each meeting brought them closer, and Derek was determined to show Stiles that he could protect and provide for him.

Their next coffee date arrived, and they met at their usual spot. The cafe was bustling with activity, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. Stiles greeted Derek with a warm smile, and they settled into their favourite corner by the window.

As they chatted about their week, Stiles couldn't help but feel a growing sense of comfort and security with Derek. He found himself opening up more, sharing his thoughts and worries. Derek listened intently, his gaze steady and reassuring.

Partway through their conversation, a commotion broke out near the entrance of the cafe. A man was causing a disturbance, shouting angrily and making other patrons uncomfortable. Stiles tensed, his anxiety rising as the situation escalated.

Derek's protective instincts kicked in immediately. He stood up and approached the man, his presence commanding and calm. "Hey, man, why don't you take it easy? Let's not ruin everyone's day."

The man turned to Derek, his anger evident. But then Derek flashed his eyes red for a brief moment, a silent warning. The man's anger faltered, he hesitated, his eyes widening with fear as he stumbled over his words before backing down and muttering under his breath as he left the cafe.

Derek returned to the table, his expression relaxed. "Sorry about that, Stiles. Are you okay?"

Stiles' eyes were wide with admiration and confusion. "Yeah, I'm fine. That was amazing, Derek. You handled that so well."

Derek smiled a hint of pride in his eyes. "I just wanted to make sure everyone was safe, especially you."

They continued their coffee date, the atmosphere returning to its usual warmth. However, as the conversation continued, Stiles' mind kept drifting back to the incident. How did Derek manage to stop that guy so quickly? he wondered. And what was with his eyes?

As they finished their coffee and prepared to leave, Stiles couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Derek than he had initially realised. He felt a newfound sense of curiosity and determination to understand the man who had captured his attention so completely.

Derek, too, felt a deep sense of satisfaction. He had proven to Stiles that he could protect and provide for him, and their bond had only grown stronger as a result. Watching Stiles walk beside him, Derek knew that their connection was something truly special, and he was determined to cherish and nurture it.

As they walked back to Stiles' dorm, Stiles couldn't help but steal glances at Derek, trying to piece together the mystery of the man who had become such an important part of his life.
____________________________________________________________________

Stiles sat with Scott and Lydia at their usual spot in the campus cafe. He couldn't shake the nagging curiosity that had been eating at him since his last coffee date with Derek. The incident with the aggressive man and Derek's red eyes had left him with more questions than answers.

"Guys, I need to talk to you about something," Stiles said, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

Scott looked up from his drink, sensing the seriousness in Stiles' tone. "What's up, Stiles?"

Stiles took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "It's about Derek. There was this incident at the cafe. Some guy was causing a scene, and Derek stepped in to calm him down. But it was weird—Derek's eyes... they turned red for a moment, and the guy just backed off like he'd seen a ghost."

Lydia raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Red eyes? Are you sure you weren't imagining things?"

Stiles shook his head, his expression resolute. "No, I saw it. And the guy was terrified. It was like Derek had some kind of power over him."

Scott frowned, his concern evident. "That sounds pretty intense, Stiles. Have you talked to Derek about it?"

Stiles sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I haven't had the chance. But I can't stop thinking about it. What if there's more to Derek than I realise?"

Lydia leaned in, her eyes thoughtful. "It's possible. Maybe you should ask him about it. You deserve to know the truth."

Stiles nodded, feeling a mix of determination and apprehension. "You're right. I need to find out what's going on."
_________________________________________________________________

Meanwhile, Derek was dealing with a different kind of threat. As he walked through the dimly lit alleyways of the city, his heightened senses picked up on the presence of a rogue werewolf. The rogue had been causing trouble in the area, and Derek knew he had to put a stop to it before anyone got hurt.

Derek moved silently, his instincts guiding him through the labyrinthine streets. He finally spotted the rogue, who was lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce on an unsuspecting victim. Derek stepped forward, his presence commanding and unyielding.

"Hey, back off," Derek growled, his voice low and threatening.

The rogue turned to face Derek, a snarl on his lips. "Stay out of this, Hale. This is my territory now."

Derek's eyes flashed red, a silent warning. "Not if I have anything to say about it."

The rogue snarled in response and without warning, lunged at Derek. The two werewolves clashed with a ferocity that echoed through the alleyways. Derek's strength and training were evident as he matched the rogue's every move, their growls and snarls filling the air.

The rogue swung a powerful fist at Derek, who deftly dodged the blow and countered with a swift punch to the rogue's gut. The impact sent the rogue stumbling back, but he quickly regained his footing and launched himself at Derek again, claws bared.

Derek blocked the attack, their claws clashing in a shower of sparks. The rogue's eyes burned with anger and desperation, but Derek's gaze remained focused and determined. He knew he had to end this fight quickly before anyone else got hurt.

With a burst of speed, Derek landed a series of rapid punches, each one driving the rogue further back. The rogue retaliated with a vicious swipe, catching Derek's arm and leaving a deep gash. Derek gritted his teeth, the pain fuelling his resolve.

The rogue lunged again, but Derek anticipated the move. He sidestepped and delivered a powerful kick to the rogue's chest, sending him crashing into the wall. The rogue struggled to get up, his breath laboured and his movements sluggish.

Derek approached, his eyes blazing red with intensity. He grabbed the rogue by the collar and pinned him against the wall. "This is your last chance," Derek growled, his voice low and menacing. "Leave now, and don't come back."

The rogue's eyes widened with fear, realising the strength and power of the alpha before him. He struggled for a moment before finally submitting. "Fine," he muttered, his voice filled with frustration. "I'm leaving."

Derek released his grip, and with a final growl, the rogue retreated, disappearing into the shadows. Derek watched him go, his protective instincts never wavering. Watching as the rogue disappeared into the shadows. He took a moment to catch his breath, his heightened senses still on high alert. The threat had been neutralised, but Derek knew he couldn't let his guard down.

With the immediate threat handled, Derek made his way back to his usual patrol route, his thoughts drifting back to Stiles. He knew he couldn't keep his secrets hidden forever, and the time was coming when he would need to explain everything to Stiles. Derek was determined to protect Stiles, no matter what challenges lay ahead.

Chapter 5: Jealously

Chapter Text

As the days passed, Derek and Stiles continued to look forward to their weekly coffee dates. Each meeting brought them closer, and Stiles found himself increasingly curious about Derek's mysterious nature.

Their next coffee date arrived, and they met at their usual spot. The cafe was bustling with activity, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. Stiles greeted Derek with a warm smile, and they settled into their favourite corner by the window.

As they chatted about their week, Stiles couldn't shake the unsettling feeling from the last time they were at the cafe. The incident with the aggressive man and Derek's red eyes had left him with more questions than answers. Determined to get to the bottom of it, Stiles decided it was time to bring it up.

"Derek, there's something I need to ask you," Stiles began, his voice steady despite his racing heart.

Derek looked at him, a hint of concern in his eyes. "What's on your mind, Stiles?"

Stiles hesitated for a moment before continuing. "The other day, at the cafe, when that guy was causing a scene... I saw your eyes turn red. And it wasn't just me—the guy was terrified. What's going on?"

Derek's expression grew serious, and he carefully considered his response. "Stiles, I think you might have imagined that. There was a lot of commotion, and sometimes our minds play tricks on us."

Stiles frowned, not entirely convinced. "I know what I saw, Derek. Your eyes definitely turned red, even if it was just for a moment."

Derek maintained his calm demeanour. "I understand that it might have seemed that way, but I can assure you there's nothing unusual about my eyes. Maybe it was the lighting or the stress of the situation."

Stiles looked down, feeling a mix of frustration and confusion. "I don't know, Derek. It felt so real."

Derek reached across the table, placing a reassuring hand on Stiles'. "I promise you, Stiles, there's nothing to worry about. My main concern is making sure we enjoy our time together."

Stiles sighed, deciding to let the matter rest for now. "Okay, I guess I'll take your word for it."

They continued their coffee date, the atmosphere returning to its usual warmth. As they talked, Stiles couldn't help but feel grateful for Derek's presence, even though he still had lingering doubts.

The next week, Derek arrived early (3 hours early) when he got a text from Stiles.

Stiles: Hey, Derek. I'm really sorry, but I have to cancel our coffee date today. I completely forgot about this assignment I have due, and I need to work on it with my partner.

Derek read the message, his attention immediately piqued. Partner?! Determined to find out what was going on, Derek decided to follow Stiles and see for himself.

Derek knew Stiles' usual routines and quickly picked up his trail. He followed Stiles from a distance, ensuring he remained undetected. Stiles seemed distracted and anxious as he made his way across campus, his brow furrowed in concentration.

Eventually, Stiles arrived at the library and made his way to a study room where his assignment partner was waiting. Derek found a discreet spot to observe from outside. He watched as Stiles and his partner, a fellow student named Alex, settled in and began discussing their project.

As the hours passed, Derek's jealousy grew. He saw how close Stiles and Alex seemed, working together, sharing ideas, and laughing at each other's jokes. Derek couldn't help but feel a pang of insecurity. ‘What if Stiles starts to like Alex more than me?’ he wondered, his protective instincts flaring. Jealously also flares up when Stiles smiles at Alex. ‘Why does Stiles look so comfortable with Alex? Why is he laughing like that?’ Derek's thoughts were consumed with jealousy, and it took all his self-control to stay hidden and not confront them directly.

Inside the study room, Stiles was oblivious to Derek's presence. He was focused on the assignment grateful for Alex's help in catching up. They worked well together, and Stiles found himself enjoying the collaborative process.

Derek remained outside his emotions in turmoil. He knew he had no reason to doubt Stiles, but his jealousy was hard to control. As he watched them work, he couldn't help but feel left out and uncertain about his place in Stiles' life.

After several hours, Stiles and Alex finally wrapped up their work. Stiles thanked Alex for the help and made his way out of the library, feeling relieved that the assignment was finally done. As he walked back to his dorm, Stiles couldn't help but think about Derek and how much he missed their coffee date.

After several hours, Stiles and Alex finally wrapped up their work. Stiles thanked Alex for the help and made his way out of the library. Derek continued to follow Alex, his jealousy fuelling his determination to find out more about him.

As Derek trailed Alex, he noticed that Alex seemed to be heading towards a different part of campus. Derek's curiosity grew stronger, and he kept a close watch, ready to confront Alex if necessary. He couldn't shake the feeling of possessiveness over Stiles.

Eventually, Alex stopped at a cafe and took a seat at an outdoor table. Derek watched from a distance, his mind racing with thoughts of what he would say to Alex. He was about to approach when he saw someone else join Alex—a person who greeted him with a warm smile and a kiss on the cheek.

Derek's anger began to dissolve as he realised the truth. Alex was dating someone else. The two of them looked happy and comfortable together, clearly in a relationship. Derek felt a mix of relief and embarrassment for letting his jealousy get the better of him.
_______________________________________________________________

Derek took a moment to collect his thoughts, feeling grateful that he hadn't confronted Alex. He realised that his jealousy had been misplaced and that he needed to trust Stiles more. Derek decided it was best to leave without saying anything to Alex.

Derek: How was the assignment?

As he turned to leave, he saw Stiles in the distance, looking down at his phone with a focused expression. Derek found a spot where he could watch unnoticed as Stiles typed out a message and sent it. Moments later, Derek's phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and read the message from Stiles:

Stiles: It went well. Thanks for checking in. I'm sorry again about cancelling our date. I promise I'll make it up to you.

Derek felt a wave of guilt for his earlier jealousy. He texted back:

Derek: That sounds great. See you tomorrow!

Stiles smiled as he read Derek's response, relieved that everything seemed normal. He was eager to spend time with Derek and make up for the cancelled date.

After cancelling their coffee date, Stiles couldn't shake the feeling that Derek was upset with him. He noticed subtle changes in Derek's behaviour—more quiet and contemplative moments, a lingering tension in his eyes. Stiles decided to talk to Scott about it, hoping his best friend could offer some insight.

They met up at Scott's house, where Stiles immediately started to unload his worries.

"Scott, I need to talk to you about something," Stiles said, pacing back and forth in Scott's room.

Scott looked up from his textbook, concern written across his face. "What's going on, Stiles?"

Stiles took a deep breath, trying to collect his thoughts. "It’s about Derek. Ever since I cancelled our coffee date, he's been different. Quieter, more distant. I can't help but feel like he's mad at me, but I haven't asked him directly."

Scott nodded, listening intently. "Have you tried talking to him about it? Maybe he's just dealing with something personal."

Stiles shook his head, frustration evident in his voice. "No, I haven't. I'm too afraid to bring it up. What if he is mad at me? I don't want to make things worse."

Scott sighed, thinking for a moment. "Well, I can't say I know him, but from what you're saying, it sounds like he might just need some time. Sometimes people don't always communicate their feelings right away."

Stiles stopped pacing and looked at Scott, his eyes filled with worry. "But what if he's mad at me? What if he doesn't want to see me anymore?"

Scott stood up and placed a reassuring hand on Stiles' shoulder. "Hey, you'll never know unless you talk to him. You should give it a shot. Maybe he's waiting for you to make the first move."

Stiles nodded slowly, appreciating Scott's support. "Yeah, maybe you're right. I'll try talking to him. Thanks, Scott."

Scott smiled, giving Stiles a reassuring pat on the back. "No problem, Stiles. I'm here for you."

As they continued talking, Stiles felt a little more at ease. He knew that Scott was right—he needed to talk to Derek and clear the air. But Stiles also knew that he wouldn't stop worrying until he found out what was going on with Derek.
_____________________________________________________________

After his conversation with Scott, Stiles decided it was time to talk to Derek and clear the air. He couldn't stand the thought of Derek being mad at him, and he needed to know the truth. Stiles texted Derek, asking if they could meet up for a quick chat.

They met at the park, a neutral place where they could talk without distractions. Stiles' heart raced as he saw Derek waiting for him by the bench.

Stiles approached Derek, trying to muster the courage to bring up his concerns. He took a deep breath and spoke.

"Hey, Derek," Stiles said, his voice slightly shaky. "Thanks for meeting me."

Derek nodded, his expression neutral. "Hey, Stiles. What's up?"

Stiles hesitated for a moment, then decided to dive right in. "I've been worried about something, and I need to talk to you about it. Ever since I cancelled our coffee date, I've noticed you've been a bit... distant. I can't help but feel like you're mad at me, and it's been eating me up inside."

Derek looked at Stiles, his eyes softening as he listened to his words. He could see the genuine concern in Stiles' eyes, and it made him realise how much Stiles cared.

‘He's worried about me. I need to be honest with him.’

Derek sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Stiles, I'm not mad at you. I promise. I was just... dealing with some stuff, and I didn't want to burden you with it."

Stiles felt a wave of relief wash over him, but he still had questions. "Dealing with stuff? Like what? You don't have to hide things from me, Derek. I care about you, and I want to be there for you."

Derek looked at Stiles, appreciating his concern. He decided to open up a bit, even though it wasn't easy for him.

"It's just... sometimes I get in my head. I worry about things, and I didn't want you to think it was your fault. When you cancelled the date, I was disappointed, but I understand. Life happens."

Stiles nodded, feeling a mix of relief and guilt. "I should have talked to you sooner. I just didn't want to make things worse. I'm really sorry, Derek."

Derek shook his head, a small smile forming on his lips. "It's okay, Stiles. We all have our moments. Let's just promise to be honest with each other from now on."

Stiles smiled, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. "Deal. No more hiding things."

Derek nodded, feeling a sense of contentment. "Good."

Stiles grinned, the tension between them melting away. "So, how about we reschedule that coffee date?"

Derek's smile widened. "I'd like that."

Chapter 6: A day out together

Chapter Text

A few days after their rescheduled coffee date, Stiles and Derek decided to spend an entire day together. They wanted to have some fun and enjoy each other's company without any distractions or outside interference. Stiles suggested a day trip to the amusement park, and Derek agreed. It was the perfect opportunity to unwind.
_____________________________________________________________________

The sun was shining, and the air was filled with the cheerful sounds of people enjoying their day. As they entered the amusement park, Stiles couldn't contain his excitement.

"Alright, Derek, what's your favourite ride?" Stiles asked, looking around at the various attractions.

Derek glanced around, a small smile forming on his lips. "I haven't been to an amusement park in ages. But I've always liked roller coasters."

Stiles' eyes lit up. "Great choice! Let's hit the biggest one first!"

They made their way to the park's most popular roller coaster, and the line wasn't too long. As they waited, Stiles couldn't help but talk about everything and anything, his energy infectious.

Stiles felt a surge of excitement and nervousness as they approached the roller coaster. He was thrilled to be spending the day with Derek, but he also wanted everything to go perfectly.

Once they were strapped into the roller coaster, Stiles looked over at Derek, his heart racing with anticipation. "Ready?"

Derek nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and amusement at Stiles' enthusiasm. He appreciated how lively and genuine Stiles was, and it made him feel more at ease.

As the roller coaster took off, they both screamed and laughed, feeling the adrenaline rush through their bodies. By the time they got off the ride, they were both exhilarated and ready for more.
__________________________________________________________________

They spent the day trying out various rides, playing games, and indulging in classic amusement park treats like cotton candy and funnel cakes. Stiles made sure to capture every moment on his phone, taking selfies with Derek and documenting their adventure.

Stiles couldn't stop smiling. He loved seeing Derek's more relaxed side and watching him enjoy the day. As they shared a funnel cake, Stiles felt a warmth in his chest.

‘This is perfect. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun. Derek seems happy, too, and that's all that matters.’

Derek was pleasantly surprised by how much he was enjoying himself. Spending the day with Stiles had brought out a side of him he hadn't felt in a long time—carefree and genuinely happy.

‘I didn't think I'd enjoy this as much as I am. Stiles has a way of making everything feel special.’
________________________________________________________________

As the sun began to set, they found a quieter spot to watch the colourful lights of the amusement park come to life. The day had been filled with laughter and excitement, and they both felt a sense of contentment.

Stiles looked at Derek, feeling grateful for the day they had spent together. "Thanks for today, Derek. I had an amazing time."

Derek smiled, feeling the same way. "Thank you, Stiles. This was exactly what I needed.
_______________________________________________________________________

After their fun day at the amusement park, Derek and Stiles decided to plan another outing. This time, they opted for something a bit more adventurous—a hiking trip. They both loved the outdoors, and it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy nature and spend quality time together.

The morning was crisp and clear as they arrived at the trailhead. Stiles had packed a backpack with essentials, including water, snacks, and a first aid kit. Derek carried a small map of the hiking trail, ready to lead the way.

Derek took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air and the sounds of nature around them. He looked over at Stiles, who was adjusting his backpack straps.

"Ready to hit the trail?" Derek asked, a small smile on his face.

Stiles nodded enthusiastically, his excitement palpable. "Absolutely! I've been looking forward to this all week."

As they started walking, Stiles couldn't help but ramble about various hiking tips and interesting facts about the trail.
____________________________________________________________________

They hiked through the dense forest, the path winding up and down hills, crossing streams, and offering stunning views of the landscape. Stiles took the opportunity to snap some photos and document their journey while Derek enjoyed the tranquillity and the company.

Stiles found himself talking non-stop, sharing stories and cracking jokes to keep the atmosphere lively.

"Did you know that some of these trees are over a hundred years old? It's crazy to think about how much history is here."

Derek chuckled, appreciating Stiles' enthusiasm. "Yeah, it's pretty incredible. And the fresh air is doing wonders for us both."

‘His energy is infectious. I love listening to him talk, even if it's just random facts. It makes the hike more enjoyable.’
___________________________________________________________________

After a few hours of hiking, they reached a scenic overlook that offered a breathtaking view of the valley below. They decided to take a break and enjoy the view.

Stiles sat down on a large rock, taking out a water bottle and a couple of granola bars. He looked out at the view, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

"This view is amazing. Worth the hike," Stiles said, offering Derek a granola bar.

Derek accepted the granola bar and sat down beside Stiles. He looked out at the view, feeling a sense of peace and contentment.

‘This moment is perfect. Just the two of us, away from everything, enjoying the beauty of nature.’

"Thanks, Stiles. This was a great idea."

After their break, they continued hiking, exploring different parts of the trail and discovering hidden spots along the way. They encountered wildlife, crossed more streams, and even found a small waterfall.

Stiles couldn't stop smiling. He loved every moment of the hike and felt even closer to Derek with each step they took.

‘This is the best day ever. I love spending time with Derek like this. It's like we're in our little world.’
_______________________________________________________________

As the sun began to set, they made their way back to the trailhead. The day had been filled with adventure and laughter.

Stiles looked at Derek, feeling grateful for the day they had spent together. "Thanks for coming hiking with me, Derek. This was amazing."

Derek smiled, feeling the same way. "Thank you, Stiles. I had a great time. Let's do this again sometime."
___________________________________________________________________

After their adventurous day exploring the woods, Stiles couldn't stop thinking about Derek. The realisation that he might be falling for him had kept him awake all night. But Stiles hadn't been able to muster the courage to tell Derek how he felt. He decided to give himself some time to sort out his emotions before bringing it up.

The next day, Stiles found himself hanging out with Scott at their usual spot in the park. He needed someone to talk to, and Scott was the perfect person to confide in.

Stiles sat down on the bench beside Scott, trying to find the right words to express what he was feeling. "Scott, I need to talk to you about something," he began, his voice a bit hesitant.

Scott looked up from his phone, concern evident on his face. "What's going on, Stiles?"

Stiles took a deep breath, deciding to just let it all out. "It's about Derek. Yesterday was amazing, and I had such a great time with him. But... I think I might be starting to fall for him, and it's kind of freaking me out."

Scott listened carefully, his expression thoughtful. "Wow, Stiles. That's a big deal. But why is it freaking you out? Derek seems like a great guy."

Stiles nodded, appreciating Scott's support. "I know he is. It's just... I'm scared of how he might react if I tell him. What if it's too soon? What if he doesn't feel the same way?"

Stiles ran a hand through his hair, feeling a mix of frustration and uncertainty. "I don't want to mess things up between us. I don't want to scare him away."

Scott placed a reassuring hand on Stiles' shoulder. "Stiles, you've always been honest and genuine. That's what makes you who you are. If you feel this way about Derek, then maybe you should tell him. But if you're not ready yet, that's okay, too. Just take your time and do what feels right."

Stiles sighed, feeling a bit more at ease after talking to Scott. "Thanks, Scott. I just needed to get that off my chest. I'll figure it out."

Scott smiled, giving Stiles a reassuring pat on the back. "No problem, man. We're in this together. Just remember, whatever happens, I'm here for you."

Stiles spent the rest of the day reflecting on his feelings and what he should do next. He knew that his connection with Derek was special, and he didn't want to rush into anything that might jeopardise it. But he also knew that he couldn't ignore his feelings forever.

As the sun set, Stiles made a decision. He would take his time, get to know Derek better, and see where their relationship naturally led. If the moment felt right, he would eventually tell Derek how he felt.

‘I care about Derek, and I want to be honest with him. But for now, I'll just enjoy the time we spend together and let things unfold naturally.’

Chapter 7: Jealously Part 2

Chapter Text

Derek and Stiles had been growing closer, their bond strengthened by their shared experiences and open communication.
Enter Laura

Laura, Derek's sister, had recently moved back to town. She was strong, confident, and protective of her brother. Derek and Laura spent a lot of time together, catching up and rebuilding their sibling bond. Stiles noticed the amount of time Derek was spending with Laura and started feeling increasingly insecure, mistaking her for a potential love rival. Derek, on the other hand, found Stiles' jealousy somewhat sexy and decided to play along a bit, enjoying the intensity of Stiles' emotions.

Stiles couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy whenever Derek mentioned Laura. He tried to ignore it, but the feeling only grew stronger.

Why is Derek spending so much time with Laura? What if she's more than just a friend to him?

Stiles' insecurity began to show in subtle ways—he'd make offhand comments about Laura, his tone laced with jealousy. Derek, aware of Stiles' growing insecurity, decided to play along for a little while before clearing up the misunderstanding.

Derek noticed Stiles' growing insecurity and couldn't help but find it sexy. He decided to tease Stiles a bit, hoping to coax out his true feelings.

One evening, as they were spending time together at Derek's apartment, Derek decided to mention his latest outing with Laura.

"Laura and I had a great time today. We went out for dinner and then caught up on everything we've missed," Derek said casually, gauging Stiles' reaction.

Stiles felt a surge of jealousy, unable to hide his irritation. "Yeah, I bet. You seem to be spending a lot of time with her lately."

Derek smirked, clearly enjoying Stiles' reaction. "She's really special to me. Maybe you should join us sometime."

Over the next few days, Stiles couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy and insecurity. Derek's comments about Laura continued to fuel his suspicions. One evening, Stiles decided to confront Derek about it, feeling both anxious and determined.

"Derek, can we talk about something?" Stiles asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

Derek looked up, sensing the seriousness in Stiles' tone. "Of course, Stiles. What's on your mind?"

Stiles took a deep breath, deciding to be honest about his feelings. "I've noticed you've been spending a lot of time with Laura lately, and it's making me feel insecure. I guess I'm worried that she might be more than just a friend to you."

Derek's amusement turned to concern as he saw the genuine worry in Stiles' eyes. He decided it was time to clear up the misunderstanding. "Stiles, Laura is my sister. She's back in town, and we've been catching up. There's nothing romantic between us."

Stiles blinked in surprise, feeling a mix of relief and embarrassment. "Wait, Laura is your sister? I thought... I mean, I didn't know. I thought she might be someone you were interested in."

Derek's expression softened, and he reached out to take Stiles' hand. "No, Stiles. Laura is just my sister. I'm sorry I didn't mention it earlier. I never meant for you to feel insecure. And to be honest, I kind of enjoyed seeing you jealous. It was sexy."

Stiles felt a wave of relief wash over him, though he still felt a bit embarrassed. "Thank you for telling me, Derek. I just couldn't help feeling jealous. I didn't want to lose you.”

“You’re not going to lose me”, Derek whispers. As they sat there, holding hands and feeling the weight of the misunderstanding lift, Derek leaned in closer to Stiles. The tension between them was palpable, and Derek couldn't resist any longer. He gently cupped Stiles' face and pressed his lips against Stiles' in a tender, passionate kiss.

Stiles' heart raced as Derek's lips met his. The kiss was everything he had hoped for—filled with warmth, love, and reassurance. He wrapped his arms around Derek, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss. Stiles could feel the intensity of Derek's emotions, and it made hisfeelingss even stronger.

Derek felt a surge of emotions as he kissed Stiles. His werewolf instincts kicked in, and he felt the mate bond strengthening between them. The kiss was a perfect blend of passion and tenderness, and he knew that this was where he belonged. He held Stiles tightly, savouring the feeling of their lips moving together. Derek's protective instincts flared, and he knew he would do anything to keep Stiles safe and happy.

Chapter 8: Losing Control- Full Moon

Chapter Text

As Derek and Stiles grew closer, Derek's struggle to keep his werewolf instincts in check became more challenging. The intensity of his feelings for Stiles only heightened his natural instincts, creating moments of inner conflict.

One evening, Stiles noticed Derek acting strangely. He was restless and seemed to be avoiding eye contact. Stiles' curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to follow Derek when he left the loft.

Stiles trailed Derek through the woods, his heart pounding with anticipation. He had a feeling that something big was about to happen. As he watched from a distance, Derek's behaviour became increasingly erratic.

Derek could feel the full moon's influence, and his werewolf instincts were becoming harder to control. He hadn't wanted Stiles to see him like this, but he knew he couldn't keep the secret much longer.

Stiles watched in shock as Derek began to transform. His muscles tensed, his eyes glowed an intense blue, and his fangs elongated. It was clear that Derek was struggling to maintain control.

Stiles' initial curiosity turned to fear as he watched Derek's transformation. He had never seen anything like it before, and the sight of Derek's werewolf form terrified him. He stumbled back, trying to process what he was seeing. What is Derek? How can this be real?

Derek, now fully transformed, sensed Stiles' fear. He tried to approach Stiles, but his werewolf instincts urged him to stay back. "Stiles... I can explain," Derek growled, his voice rough and strained.

Stiles couldn't find the words. His heart raced, and he felt a wave of panic. Without thinking, he turned and ran back to the loft, his mind reeling from what he had just witnessed.

Over the next few days, Stiles couldn't shake the fear and confusion he felt. He avoided Derek, unable to look him in the eye. When they did interact, Stiles' behaviour was awkward and distant.

Derek noticed the change in Stiles' behaviour and felt a pang of guilt mixed with hurt. He knew he had to talk to Stiles and explain the truth, but he also didn't want to push him further away.

One evening, Derek decided it was time to address the situation. He found Stiles at his dorm, sitting alone and lost in thought. "Stiles, we need to talk."

Stiles looked up, his heart racing. He knew this conversation was inevitable, but he wasn't sure he was ready for it. "Derek, I... I don't know what to say."

Derek took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "I know you're scared, and I understand why. But I need you to know that I would never hurt you. What you saw... it's a part of me, but it's not all of me."

Stiles struggled to process his emotions. "Derek, I don't understand. How can you be... that? And how do I know it's safe to be around you?"

Derek stepped closer, his eyes filled with sincerity. "Stiles, I'm a werewolf. It's something I've had to keep hidden for most of my life. But I trust you, and I want you to know the truth. I can control it, but sometimes it's hard. I promise you, I will always do everything in my power to protect you."

Stiles took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. "Derek, I need time to process this. I want to understand, but it's a lot to take in."

Chapter 9: Keeping Watch

Chapter Text

Stiles woke up to the sound of his alarm clock blaring. He groggily hit the snooze button and buried his face in the pillow for a few more minutes. Eventually, he dragged himself out of bed and got ready for the day. As he brushed his teeth, he couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him.

‘Maybe it's just my imagination. Or maybe it's because of everything that's happened with Derek,’ Stiles thought as he rinsed his mouth and grabbed his backpack.

Stiles' day at school was a mix of classes, homework, and hanging out with friends. He tried to focus on his studies, but his mind kept drifting back to Derek and the revelation of his werewolf nature. During lunch, he sat with his friends, trying to act normal, but his thoughts were elsewhere.

Derek watched from a distance, staying hidden in the shadows. He knew he had to let Stiles have his space, but he couldn't help but keep an eye on him. Derek's heightened senses allowed him to track Stiles' movements without being seen. He felt a mix of protectiveness and regret for causing Stiles so much fear.

‘I just want to make sure he's safe. I hope he'll come around and understand that I'm not a monster’, Derek thought as he watched Stiles interact with his friends.

After school, Stiles decided to head to the library to do some research. He was determined to learn more about werewolves and better understand Derek's condition.

Derek continued to keep a watchful eye on Stiles, even as he entered the library. He knew he needed to keep his distance, but he couldn't help but feel responsible for Stiles' safety. He found a spot where he could observe without being seen, his eyes never leaving Stiles.

As Stiles was engrossed in his research, he stood and moved to a nearby bookcase to find another book when he felt a presence nearby. He looked up and saw Derek standing a few feet away, his expression a mix of concern and longing.

"Derek? What are you doing here?" Stiles asked, his voice a mix of surprise and curiosity.

"I wanted to make sure you're okay," Derek admitted, his voice low. "I know I said I'd give you space, but I couldn't help but worry about you."

Stiles sighed, feeling a mix of emotions. "Derek, I appreciate that, but I need time to process everything. I can't have you watching me all the time. It's... it's a lot to handle."

Derek nodded, his expression filled with regret. "I understand, Stiles. I'll give you the space you need. I just want you to know that I'm here for you whenever you're ready."

With that, Derek left the library, giving Stiles the space he needed. Stiles watched him go, feeling a pang of guilt but also a sense of relief. He knew that they had a lot to work through, but he also knew that Derek's intentions were rooted in care and concern.

Chapter 10: Injury

Chapter Text

Derek had been tracking a dangerous creature that had been causing havoc in town. He knew he had to take care of it before anyone got hurt, but he was determined to handle it alone to keep Stiles safe.

One evening, Stiles was walking home from class, his thoughts drifting to the recent events with Derek. As he walked through a quiet part of campus, he heard the sounds of a fierce struggle coming from a nearby alleyway. His curiosity got the better of him, and he cautiously approached the source of the noise.

As Stiles peered into the alleyway, he saw Derek locked in a brutal fight with a monstrous creature. Derek's werewolf form was on full display, and it was clear that he was struggling against the powerful foe.

Stiles' heart raced as he watched the fight unfold. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, but he knew he had to help Derek. Without thinking, he rushed forward, shouting Derek's name.

Derek, already injured from the fight, was momentarily distracted by Stiles' voice. The creature took advantage of this distraction, landing a powerful blow that sent Derek crashing to the ground. The creature then runs off.

Stiles ran to Derek's side, his fear overridden by concern. "Derek, are you okay? We need to get you out of here!"

Derek, panting and bleeding, nodded weakly. "Stiles, you need to get away. It's too dangerous."

Stiles shook his head, his determination unwavering. "No way, Derek. I'm not leaving you. We'll get through this together."

With great effort, Stiles managed to help Derek to his feet. They quickly made their way out of the alley and back to Stiles' dorm, avoiding any further encounters with the creature.

Once they were safely inside Stiles' dorm room, Stiles carefully helped Derek to the bed. He grabbed a first aid kit and began tending to Derek's injuries.

"You're really hurt, Derek. We need to get you patched up," Stiles said, his voice filled with worry.

Derek winced as Stiles cleaned a particularly deep wound. "Thank you, Stiles. I didn't want you to see me like this, but I'm glad you're here."

Stiles worked quickly and efficiently, his hands steady despite his racing heart. "We'll talk about this later. Right now, we need to make sure you're okay."

As Stiles continued to tend to Derek's injuries, he realised how much he cared for him. Despite the fear and confusion he had felt, he knew that Derek was someone worth fighting for.

Derek, now bandaged and resting, looked at Stiles with a mix of gratitude and vulnerability. "I'm sorry, Stiles. I never wanted you to get hurt or see me like this."

Stiles shook his head, his expression filled with determination. "Derek, I don't care what you are. I care about you. We're in this together, and we'll figure it out."

Chapter 11: The discovery

Chapter Text

After the intense events of the past few days, Stiles found himself reflecting on everything that had happened. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Derek's behaviour and their relationship than he fully understood. Determined to uncover the truth, Stiles decided to dive back into his research.

Stiles spent hours in the library, sifting through old books and online resources about werewolves and supernatural lore. He was determined to find answers, and his relentless curiosity kept him focused.

As Stiles poured over an ancient text, he came across a section about werewolf bonds and mates. The description of the mate bond sounded eerily familiar, and he couldn't help but wonder if it applied to him and Derek.

The text explained that werewolves often formed deep, unbreakable bonds with their mates. These bonds were based on love, trust, and an instinctual need to protect and cherish one another. Mates could sense each other's emotions and were often drawn to each other in powerful, inexplicable ways.

Stiles' heart raced as he read the description. Is this what Derek meant? Is this why he was so protective and concerned? The more he read, the more he realised that the mate bond explained a lot about Derek's behaviour.

With his newfound knowledge, Stiles decided it was time to talk to Derek about what he had discovered. He needed to know if they were indeed mates and what that meant for their relationship.

Stiles found Derek at his loft, looking more relaxed now that his injuries were healing. Derek greeted Stiles with a warm if somewhat curious, expression.

"Derek, can we talk? I found something that I think we need to discuss," Stiles said, his voice steady but filled with anticipation.

Derek's curiosity was piqued. He motioned for Stiles to sit down and listened intently. "Of course, Stiles. What's on your mind?"

Stiles took a deep breath and began explaining what he had found in his research. He described the mate bond in detail, watching Derek's reaction closely. "Derek, is this what we are? Are we... mates?"

Derek's eyes softened, and he reached out to take Stiles' hand. "Yes, Stiles. We are mates. I didn't want to overwhelm you with everything at once, but it's true. The bond we share is deep and unbreakable. It's why I feel so strongly about protecting you and being with you."

Derek squeezed Stiles' hand gently. "I know it's a lot to take in, but we have each other. The mate bond means we're meant to be together, to support and love one another. I promise I'll always be here for you."

Chapter 12: Party

Chapter Text

With their bond stronger than ever, Derek and Stiles decided to take a break from the chaos and enjoy a night out. They went to a popular club in town, eager to relax and have some fun.

As they walked into the club, the pulsating music and colourful lights created an electric atmosphere. Stiles' eyes lit up with excitement, ready to let loose and have a good time. Derek, on the other hand, felt a mix of excitement and protectiveness.

Stiles grabbed Derek's hand and pulled him toward the dance floor. "Come on, Derek! Let's dance!" he shouted over the music.

Derek hesitated for a moment but then allowed himself to be dragged along. Stiles' enthusiasm was infectious, and he couldn't help but smile.

As they moved to the beat, Derek kept a watchful eye on their surroundings. He couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to protect Stiles, even in a place like this. The club was crowded, and his werewolf instincts made him hyper-aware of every movement around them.

Stiles was in his element, laughing and dancing with abandon. He lost himself in the music, his worries melting away. Derek, however, couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy whenever someone got too close to Stiles.

Derek's protective instincts kicked into overdrive as he noticed a few people eyeing Stiles with interest. He moved closer, wrapping an arm around Stiles' waist possessively. "Stay close to me, Stiles," Derek said, his voice firm.

Stiles looked up at Derek, a playful smile on his face. "You don't have to be so protective, Derek. We're just having fun."

"I know, but I can't help it. I want to make sure you're safe," Derek replied, his eyes scanning the crowd.

Despite Derek's protectiveness, Stiles couldn't resist the urge to explore the club. He slipped away for a moment to get drinks, leaving Derek feeling uneasy.

Derek watched Stiles' every move, his heart pounding with a mix of anxiety and protectiveness. He noticed a few people trying to strike up conversations with Stiles, and his jealousy flared.

As Stiles chatted with a few strangers at the bar, he couldn't help but notice Derek's intense gaze from across the room. He felt a rush of affection for Derek's protectiveness but also a desire to reassure him.

Stiles returned to Derek with two drinks in hand, a playful grin on his face. "Here you go, Mr. Overprotective. I got us some drinks."

Derek took the drink, his expression softening. "Thanks, Stiles. Just... stay close, okay?"

Stiles nodded, his smile reassuring. "I will, Derek. I promise."

With their drinks in hand, Derek and Stiles returned to the dance floor. This time, Derek allowed himself to relax a bit more, enjoying the moment with Stiles. They danced together, their love evident in the way they moved in sync with each other.

As the night went on, Stiles let loose and enjoyed himself to the fullest. The combination of music, dancing, and drinks made for an unforgettable evening. However, by the end of the night, Stiles had had a bit too much to drink.

Stiles stumbled slightly as he made his way out of the club, his laughter echoing in the night air. Derek, ever the protective mate, was right by his side, ready to catch him if he fell.

"Stiles, you really went all out tonight," Derek said, his voice filled with a mix of amusement and concern. "Let's get you back to your dorm."

Stiles giggled, leaning heavily on Derek for support. "Yeah, I might have overdone it a bit. But it was fun, right?"

Derek smiled, wrapping an arm around Stiles to steady him. "It was fun. Now, let's get you home."

Once they reached Stiles' dorm, Derek carefully helped him inside. Stiles flopped onto his bed, still giggling and clearly enjoying his tipsy state.

As Derek turned to leave, Stiles reached out and grabbed his hand. "Derek, stay. I don't want to be alone tonight."

Derek hesitated for a moment, his protective instincts kicking in. "Are you sure, Stiles? I don't want to make you uncomfortable."

Stiles nodded, his eyes filled with sincerity. "I'm sure, Derek. I feel safe with you. Please stay."

Derek's heart swelled with affection for Stiles. He nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed. "Alright, Stiles. I'll stay."

Stiles smiled, his eyes drooping with exhaustion. "Thanks, Derek. You're the best.” Stiles giggles, “That’s why I love you” Derek is in shock, and Stiles uses this to plant a kiss on Derek’s lips. “Good werewolf” Stiles mutters.

Derek gently brushed a strand of hair from Stiles' forehead. "Get some rest, Stiles. I'll be right here."

As Stiles drifted off to sleep, Derek stayed by his side, watching over him with a sense of protectiveness and love. He was determined to be there for Stiles, no matter what.

As the sun began to rise, casting a soft glow through the curtains of Stiles' dorm room, Derek sat vigil by his side. He had stayed up most of the night, watching over Stiles to ensure he was comfortable and safe. The events of the previous night were still fresh in his mind, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions.

Stiles stirred and slowly opened his eyes, squinting at the morning light. His head throbbed slightly, a reminder of the drinks from the night before. As his vision cleared, he saw Derek sitting next to him, looking both protective and concerned.

"Derek?" Stiles mumbled, his voice still groggy. "Did you stay here all night?"

Derek smiled softly, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from Stiles' forehead. "Yeah, I did. You asked me to stay, remember?"

Stiles blinked, the memories of the previous night slowly coming back to him. He felt a rush of gratitude and affection for Derek. "Thank you, Derek. I'm really glad you stayed."

Derek's expression turned serious. "How are you feeling, Stiles? Do you need anything?"

Stiles chuckles despite the slight headache. "I've been better, but I'll survive. Maybe some water and painkillers would be nice."

Derek nodded and quickly fetched a glass of water and some painkillers from Stiles' desk. He handed them to Stiles with a gentle smile. "Here, this should help."

Stiles took the water and painkillers, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over him. "Thanks, Derek. You really are the best.”

Derek sat back down next to Stiles, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions. He remembered the kiss and the confession from the night before, but he decided not to bring it up. He didn't want to make Stiles uncomfortable or put pressure on him.

Stiles furrowed his brow, trying to recall the events of the night before. "I feel like I might have said or done something embarrassing. Did I?"

Derek shook his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "Nothing to worry about, Stiles. You were just having a good time. Let's focus on getting you feeling better."

As Stiles sipped the water, he couldn't help but admire Derek as the sun shone through the blinds behind him. He looked beautiful.

Chapter 13: Past

Chapter Text

After the intense events of the past few days, Derek and Stiles decided to have a quiet night in. They ordered takeout, watched movies, and enjoyed each other's company. The atmosphere was relaxed, and they both felt a sense of comfort and ease.

As they sat together on the couch, Stiles couldn't help but feel curious about Derek's past and the life he had lived before they met. He wanted to understand Derek better and learn more about what made him the person he is today.

"Hey, Derek," Stiles began, his voice soft. "Can I ask you something?"

Derek turned to Stiles, his expression open and attentive. "Of course, Stiles. You can ask me anything."

"I know you've been through a lot, and I want to understand you better. Can you tell me more about your past? About your family and how you became a werewolf?" Stiles asked, his eyes filled with genuine curiosity and care.

Derek took a deep breath, feeling a mix of emotions. He had always been guarded about his past, but he knew that sharing his story with Stiles was important for their relationship. "It's not an easy story to tell, but I'll try."

Derek began to recount his past, starting with his family and their history as werewolves. He spoke about the challenges they faced, the fire that nearly killed his whole family, but they made it out in time.

As he told his story, Stiles listened intently, his heart aching for the pain Derek had endured.

Stiles reached out and took Derek's hand, offering silent support. "Derek, I'm so sorry for everything you've been through. You're incredibly strong to have come through it all."

Derek squeezed Stiles' hand gently, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Stiles. It means a lot to me that you care. Sharing this with you makes it a little easier to bear."

As Derek shared more about his past, Stiles felt their connection deepen. He admired Derek's resilience and courage, and he felt a renewed sense of commitment to standing by his side.

"Derek, I want you to know that I'm here for you, no matter what. We'll face everything together, and you don't have to carry the burden alone," Stiles said, his voice filled with determination.

Derek smiled, feeling a sense of relief and comfort. "Thank you, Stiles. Having you by my side makes all the difference. I love you."

"I love you too, Derek," Stiles replied, his heart swelling with affection.

Chapter 14: Meeting the Friends

Chapter Text

With Derek and Stiles moving forward with their relationship, they finally decide it's time for Derek to meet Scott and Lydia.

As they gather outside the campus cafe, their meeting point, Derek stands next to Stiles, his usual guarded expression in place. However, Stiles can tell he is nervous. Stiles looks at him with a reassuring smile, “Don’t worry, they’ll love you”, He says, squeezing Derek’s hand.

Together, they walk in and quickly make their way to the table with Lydia and Scott already there. Scott spots them first, his expression a mix of curiosity and friendliness. “Hey, Derek. It’s good to finally meet you,u,” Scott starts, standing up and extending his hand. Derek shakes it, nodding in acknowledgement.

Lydia follows, her sharp eyes taking in every detail. “So, this is the famous Derek,” She says with a hint of a smirk, “Stiles has told us quite a bit about you”

“All good things, I hope” Derek smiles, flashing a smirk at a blushing Stiles.

They all sit and begin chatting. “So, Derek, what do you do?” Scott starts.

“I own my own business as a builder,” Derek answers.

Scott beams, “That’s awesome, dude! Maybe you can help Stiles build a new bookcase for all his comic books,” He jokes.

Stiles playfully nudges Scott, “Ha ha, very funny”

“So, how old are you, Derek?” Lydia asks.

“I’m 27”, Derek answers. “I know I’m a bit older, but I love Stiles with all my heart. And I will protect him from those who cause him harm”

“Derek” Stiles mutters, speechless at the confession.

As the evening continues, they share more laughter and stories, the initial nervousness fading away. The group enjoyed Derek’s calm and dry humour. When it’s time to leave, Scott offers Derek a friendly smile. “Derek, it was great to meet you. You’re welcome to join us anytime”

Lydia adds, “Absolutely, you seem good for Stiles. But know this: If you hurt Stiles, we are coming for you”

Derek smirks, “Yes, ma’am.”

A few days later, it's a sunny afternoon when Stiles and Derek head to a cosy cafe where they’re meeting Laura, Derek’s older sister. Stiles is nervous but excited, especially after Stiles got jealous of Laura, not knowing they were siblings. Derek reassures him with a hand squeeze as they walk in.

Laura was already at the table, her confident and powerful presence immediately noticeable. She looks up and smiles as she sees them approaching.

“Laura, this is Stiles. Stiles, meet my sister, Laura,” Derek introduces.

Stiles extends his hand, trying to hide his nerves. “Nice to meet you, Laura. Derek’s told me so much about you”

Laura shakes his hand with a wicked smile. “Nice to meet you too, Stiles. I’ve heard quite a bit about you, too. All good things, of course” Laura smirks at Derek. They sit down, and the conversation slows naturally,

“So, Stiles, how did my hermit of a brother manage to snag you?” Laura questions.

Stiles laughs, “We ran into each other after I left a coffee shop. He offered to buy me another one, and we’ve been having coffee dates ever since,” Stiles beams at Derek.

Laura, however, frowns in confusion, “But Derek. You hate coffee”

Derek glares at her, “I’ve learnt to like it”

Stiles decides not to comment but files it away for late, and the rest of the night is filled with laughs and fun. Laura shares stories about their childhood, much to Derek’s embarrassment, and Stiles finds himself having a great time.

As they leave the cafe, Laura hugs Stiles. “I’m really glad we got to meet. You take good care of my little brother, okay?”

Stiles smiles, “Will do, Laura. It was great meeting you”

Laura smiles and walks to her car while Derek wraps an arm around Stiles’ shoulders as they walk in the opposite direction towards Stiles’ dorm room. “See? I told you she’d love you”

Chapter 15: Stalking?

Chapter Text

It’s a quiet afternoon at their favourite coffee shop, and Stiles is still thinking about the little fact Laura said about Derek. ‘But Derek. You hate coffee
Stiles takes a sip of his double shot mocha with 5 five sugars and notices Derek quietly stirring his black coffee, a thoughtful expression on his face.

"Hey, Derek, how's your coffee?" Stiles asks.

Derek hesitates for a moment, then sighs. "You’re still thinking about what Laura said the other day”

Stiles raises an eyebrow, "We've been on so many coffee dates. Why didn't you say anything?"

Derek looks a bit sheepish. "I didn't want to disappoint you. When I bumped into you, I couldn’t buy you a coffee and not buy one for myself, that would be weird. It was also a good way to ask you out and keep seeing you. Ever since I’ve seen how much you love coffee, and I wanted to spend time with you."

Stiles is taken aback, processing this new information. "So, all this time, you were just pretending to like it?"

Derek nods. "Yeah. I just wanted to be with you, even if it meant drinking something I didn't enjoy."

Stiles chuckles, shaking his head. "Derek, you didn't have to do that. We could have gone anywhere else. I just wanted to spend time with you, too."

The realisation starts to sink in, and Stiles feels a mix of amusement and frustration. "Wait a minute... what else have you been hiding from me?"

“Apart from being a werewolf and you my mate?” Derek jokes, avoiding the question. Luckily, Stiles just laughs and lets it go.
______________________________________________________________

It's a cosy Saturday morning, and Stiles and Derek are sitting in Derek’s apartment. Everything is normal, but Stiles can't shake the feeling that something is off. Later that day, while Derek is out running errands, Stiles decides to tidy up Derek’s apartment. As he's cleaning, he accidentally knocks over a box of Derek's things. Among the scattered items, Stiles finds an old journal with notes and pictures that make it clear Derek had been watching him long before they met.

Confused and hurt, Stiles sits down with the journal, reading through it. The realisation that Derek had been stalking him hits hard, and he decides he can't let this go without confronting Derek.

When Derek returns, Stiles is sitting on the couch, the journal in hand.

"Derek, we need to talk. I found this."

Derek's face pales as he sees the journal. "Stiles, I can explain."

"Explain what? That you've been stalking me? Why didn't you tell me about this?" Stiles slams the journal on the table.

Derek takes a deep breath, knowing he can't avoid the truth any longer. "I didn't know how to talk to you. We walked past each other on the pavement, and right then, I knew you were my mate. I had to make sure you were a good person. After what happened with the fire, I had to make sure. You have to understand Stiles; it was just to make sure”

“It took you 5 months to make sure?!”

“No, it took me 2 weeks to make sure. But after a while of watching you, I began to fall in love with you. Everything about you was perfect; I had to make sure you were safe and protected at all times until I gathered the nerves to meet you”

“When we first met. You ran into me on purpose,” Stiles realises.

“Ye,s”, Derek admits quietly.

"So, you thought it was okay to keep it a secret? To keep pretending like everything was normal? You made me fall in love with you!"

"I didn’t know how to come clean without losing you. You are my mate, Stiles. I love you with all my heart. You felt our bond, you just need to accept and be mine” Derek’s eyes shine red.

Stiles looks away, struggling with his emotions. "I need time to process this, Derek. I don’t know what to think right now."

Derek nods, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Take all the time you need. I'll be here when you're ready to talk."

As Stiles stands up to leave, he pauses at the door and looks back at Derek. "I care about you too, Derek. That's why this hurts so much. You stalked me for months. It feels like I don’t even know you anymore.”

Derek watches Stiles leave, a mixture of hope and regret in his eyes. He knows the road to rebuilding trust won't be easy, but he's willing to do whatever it takes.

It's been a few days since Stiles confronted Derek about the journal. The initial shock has worn off, but the pain and confusion remain. Stiles has been avoiding Derek, needing space to process his emotions. Derek, on the other hand, is feeling the weight of his actions, tormented by the possibility of losing Stiles.

One evening, Stiles decides to take a walk to clear his head. He ends up at their favourite spot in the park, sitting on the bench where they used to share so many happy moments. As he sits there, lost in thought, he hears footsteps approaching. It's Derek, looking worn and vulnerable.

"Stiles, I know you said you needed time, but I couldn't stay away. I need to know how you're feeling."

Stiles looks up, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and hurt. "How I'm feeling? I'm feeling betrayed and exposed, Derek. You lied to me. You watched me without my knowledge. How am I supposed to trust you now?"

Derek sits down beside him, a few feet away. "I know I messed up. I was wrong, and I'm so sorry. I love you, Stiles and the thought of losing you is killing me."

"Love isn't enough to fix this, Derek. Trust is everything in a relationship, and you shattered mine. I don't know if I can get past that."

Derek's voice cracks with desperation. "Please, Stiles. I'll do anything to make it right. Just tell me what to do."

Stiles shakes his head, tears welling up in his eyes. "I don't know if there's anything you can do. This isn't something that can just be fixed overnight. It takes time, and right now, I don't even know where to start."

Derek nods sadly "I understand. I'll give you all the time you need.” Derek leaves, and Stiles watches him go.
______________________________________________________________

It's been a few days since the park, and they've both been taking time apart. Stiles has been trying to focus on his studies and spend time with Scott and Lydia, but he can't stop thinking about Derek and the revelation that has shaken their relationship.

One afternoon, while Stiles is walking through the city, he spots Derek across the street. Derek is walking with his head down, lost in thought. Curiosity and a lingering sense of concern drive Stiles to follow him.

Stiles keeps his distance, making sure not to be seen. Derek weaves through the busy streets, occasionally stopping to glance at shop windows but mostly keeping to himself. Over the next few days, Stiles continues to follow Derek, observing him from a distance.

Derek's routine becomes familiar: he visits the same bookstore every morning, spends hours at the cafe, and takes long walks through various parks. Stiles notices that Derek often stops to help strangers—offering directions to tourists, assisting an elderly woman with her groceries, and even rescuing a stray cat from a tree. Derek's actions reveal a caring and protective nature that Stiles hadn't fully appreciated before.

One evening, Derek heads to the secluded park where they used to spend time together. He sits on a bench, staring at the ground, clearly deep in thought. Stiles watches from a distance, his emotions a whirlwind of confusion and longing. As he observes Derek, he begins to understand that Derek's stalking, though misguided, came from a place of genuine concern and love.

Instead of approaching Derek, Stiles decides to quietly leave the park, giving himself more time to think. He spends the next few days reflecting on everything he's observed and writing his thoughts down in a journal. Slowly, he starts to see why Derek did this to him for months.

Several days later, while sitting in his favourite cafe, Stiles receives a text from Derek. It's a simple message asking if they can meet to talk. After a moment of hesitation, Stiles agrees.

They meet at their cafe, the place where they used to spend so much time together. Stiles takes a deep breath, his heart pounding as he prepares to speak.

"Derek, I've had a lot of time to think. What you did hurt me, but I understand why you did it. I see the care and love you have, even if it was misplaced."

"Stiles, I'm so sorry for everything. I know I broke your trust, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make things right."

"We need to take it slow. No more secrets, no more lies. Just open communication."

Derek nods, relief evident in his eyes. "Stiles. I'm here for you every step of the way."

"Okay. Let's take it one step at a time and see where it goes."

Derek and Stiles hold hands on the table, nervous about what will come.
