Dear Cherry...I think I am in Love with my Best Friend

Summary:

Sakura Haruno writes a column for the Konoha University Paper under the pen name "Cherry," where she offers relationship advice to her peers. However, what her readers don't realize is that Sakura is the one in need of guidance; her love life is non-existent. The object of her affection, Sasuke Uchiha, only sees her as a friend. But when she asks her to fake date, she agrees-at what cost?

Will he learn of her alter ego? Or will they turn this fake dating scheme into a relationship?

Chapter 1: Seizing the Moment

Chapter Text

Dear Cherry: How do you know if you are in love with your best friend?

Dear Cherry’s, latest letter was lying open in Sakura’s medical textbook as her emerald, green eyes were transfixed on Sasuke as he gracefully threw a baseball back and forth with Naruto on the university quad.

The afternoon sun glinted off Sasuke's raven hair and his toned arm muscles flexed as he caught the ball with a satisfying whack of leather on skin. How she wishes it was her skin slapping against his!

Sakura sighed dreamily, her mind wandering to thoughts of what it would feel like to be wrapped in those strong arms as they made love under the stars. She was so entranced that she didn't notice her best friend Ino plopping down on the bench beside her.

“You know you should not have those letters out in the open forehead.” when her friend didn't answer her, she looked over at who she was staring at, of course, it was Sasuke.

“Earth to Sakura,” waving a hand in front of the pink-haired girl's face. "You're staring again, forehead!"

Sakura startled, her cheeks flushing as pink as the cherry blossoms she was named for and pretended to go back to studying.

Ino's baby blue eyes sparkled with mischief as they darted to the open textbook on Sakura's lap.

"OMG, is that another one of your Dear Cherry letters?" the blonde gasped dramatically. "You better be careful, leaving those out where anyone could see! Do you want the whole school to find out that you're the secret advice columnist everyone's obsessed with?"

Ino giggled conspiratorially as Sakura hurriedly slammed the textbook shut, shoving it deep into her bookbag.

“I don't know what you are talking about.”

Even as she tried to laugh it off to Ino, Sakura's heart raced with the anxiety of her identity being discovered, especially by a certain dark-haired baseball player she couldn't seem to take her eyes from.

“Then why hide the evidence? Scared a certain tall, dark, and hottie of a best friend is going to find out about your side gig.” Ino couldn't help but tease her, Konoha University's very own Dear Cherry was gazing at the boy she was in love with once again—the university heartthrob, star athlete Sasuke Uchiha—Sakura’s male best friend.

Once upon a time, Ino was in love with Sasuke Uchiha too, but once she met Sai, she knew it was nothing more than a childish crush. That and how Sakura and Sasuke look at each other—like they were the only two in the room.

"How can I not? He's the most handsome guy I've ever seen," Sakura replied, resting her chin on her hand.

“And the only girl he gives two shits about.  Are you ever going to tell him how you feel?  Ino asked, raising an eyebrow.

"How could I? We're best friends; I don't want to ruin that," Sakura sighed, feeling the weight of her unspoken feelings—her unrequited love.

Ino rolled her eyes, a playful smirk dancing on her lips. "Sakura, you do realize that being best friends with him doesn’t mean you have to stay in the friend zone forever, right? You could at least drop a hint or two. Maybe wear that cute red mini dress I bought you last week?"

Sakura shook her head, her cheeks flushing at the thought. "I don’t want to make things awkward. What if he doesn’t feel the same way? I’d rather keep him in my life as a friend than risk losing him altogether."

Ino leaned closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "But what if he does feel the same way? You won’t know unless you try! Besides, you’re Cherry, the relationship guru! You give everyone else love advice, but you’re too scared to take your own."

Sakura sighed, her heart heavy with the weight of her own advice. It was true; she had written countless articles on how to express feelings, how to take risks in love, and how to communicate openly. Yet here she was, paralyzed by her fears. "It’s different when it’s you, Ino. I can help others, but when it comes to my heart, I freeze up."

Ino nudged her playfully. "You need to channel your inner Cherry! Remember that article you wrote about seizing the moment? You can’t let this opportunity slip away. Sasuke isn’t going to wait around forever. His mother has been forcing him to go on these dates and one of these days, one of the girls his mother picks out will be the one.”

“I know.  He has told me about these dates and how much he dislikes them.” Sakura glanced at Sasuke, who nearly took Naruto’s head off with a curve ball. She could hear Naruto’s profanities from a mile away.

“Maybe he is waiting for you to save the day from girls he has no interest in dating.”

“I doubt that.” Sakura watched Sasuke pinch his nose as Naruto continued to curse. “He just sees me as one of the guys.”

Ino sighed dramatically, throwing her hands up. "You’re overthinking it! Sasuke Uchiha doesn't see you as one of the guys. Have you seen the eye sex you have been having with each other over the past few months? He is into you and wants to fuck you. Invite him to hang out, just the two of you. You can’t keep hiding behind Cherry and your friendship forever. You need to take a leap of faith!"

Sakura bit her lip, contemplating Ino’s words. The idea of spending time alone with Sasuke both thrilled and terrified her. What if it went well? What if it didn’t? Deep down, she knew staying silent was slowly eating away at her.

"Okay, maybe I’ll give it a try," she finally said, “but only after Tsunade’s big test.”

Ino raised an eyebrow, “You said that the last time I brought it up.” Ino reminded her.

Sakura sighed, “This test is crucial,” she insisted, her grip tightening around her bag as she prepared to leave. “I’m heading to the library to study.”

“Don’t tell me you’re really planning to pull an all-nighter!” Ino exclaimed, worry etched on her face.

Sakura nodded, her mind already racing ahead to the pages of information waiting for her, and she walked away.

“Don’t forget to eat, Forehead!” Ino shouted after her, concern lacing her words as Sakura disappeared into Hashirama Library.

“What the fuck, you almost took my head off with that pitch, teme.” Naruto shot a glare at Sasuke.  “What is wrong with you today? You never pitch this bad!”

The sun beat down on Naruto and Sasuke as they threw a baseball back and forth in the university quad.

Sasuke caught the ball with a loud smack against his glove, his dark eyes narrowed in frustration as he hurled it back to Naruto. "My mother is at it again, trying to set me up with every eligible girl she can find. This time it's Hinata Hyuga."

Naruto whistled low, tossing the ball back. "The Hyuga heiress, huh? I mean, she's cute and all, but definitely not your type."

"You think I don't know that? She is in love with your annoying ass.” Sasuke snapped, firing off a fastball that Naruto barely managed to catch. "But apparently it would be 'good for business' according to my grandfather, so I'm stuck."

Naruto pursed his lips thoughtfully as he lobbed the ball in a gentle arc. "She is in love with me?”

“Surprise, someone is in love with you dead last?”

“Not really, I am the university golden boy. Of course, I have many admirers, both men and women, but most know I am not into girls.”

Sasuke rolled his eyes and wondered why he was still friends with Naruto.  Maybe he would shut up if he ignored him, but the last time he tried that, the idiot followed him around for days—nagging him.

“You know, you could always write to Dear Cherry for advice. She's the relationship expert for the university paper, I bet she'd have some advice for you."

Sasuke scoffed, snatching the ball out of the air. "And spill my personal life to some anonymous advice columnist? No thanks. I'll handle this myself."  Sasuke didn't need Naruto to find out that he had not only reached out once but multiple times to Dear Cherry—not just for romantic advice but for other issues in his life. She never published what he'd written to her, but she did respond to him—giving him advice he did need.

Maybe he was like the rest of the student body, obsessed with this mysterious writer who felt familiar. He could not figure out why.

"Suit yourself," Naruto shrugged, holding up his glove to receive Sasuke's next throw. "But unless you want to be stuck going on awkward dates with girls you have zero interest in for the rest of your life, you might want to consider other options.”

Other options? What else could he do? His mother was so persistent in wanting him to find a nice girl to settle down with. He is just 21 and still needs to get through his master's program before thinking about marriage.

“Hey, I know! Why don't you just fake date someone? Get your mom off your back for a while."

Sasuke paused, considering it for a moment before shaking his head. "Like who? I'm not going to use some random girl like that."

A sly grin spread across Naruto's face. "What about Sakura-chan? You guys are close, I'm sure she'll help you out. Plus, it’s Sakura, your mother loves her and will leave you alone for eternity if she learns you two are dating!"

Sasuke frowned, tossing the ball up and catching it restlessly. "I don't know...I don't want to put Sakura in that position or make things weird between us."

"Come on, what are best friends for?" Naruto smirked. "Besides, it's either that or resign yourself to a lifetime of miserable dates with your mom's picks. Your call, bro."

With a heavy sigh, Sasuke hurled the ball back to Naruto, his mind churning with the possibilities and potential pitfalls of his scheming best friend's suggestion. Fake dating Sakura...it was crazy. But it just might be crazy enough to work.

Sasuke found Sakura on the top floor of the library, surrounded by towering stacks of medical textbooks and journals. Her pink hair was pulled back in a messy bun, a few stray strands framing her face as she pored over the dense material, a look of intense concentration in her emerald eyes.

Sasuke approached quietly, setting down a brown paper bag and a cup of sweet milk tea on the table beside her. The fragrant aroma of anko dumplings wafted out, and Sakura glanced up, meeting his dark gaze. "Sasuke-kun," she said with a small, tired smile.

“Hn," he grunted in reply, his standard monosyllabic greeting. Sakura eagerly reached for the bag, her stomach growling as she realized how long it had been since her last meal. But as she bit into the soft, sweet dumplings - her absolute favorite treat - a flicker of suspicion crossed her face.

Sasuke was thoughtful, often bringing her healthy snacks to keep her going during long study sessions, but he only indulged her sweet tooth when he needed a favor. "Alright, what is it this time?" she asked, arching an eyebrow. "Another exam you need help studying for?"

Sasuke shook his head, looking uncharacteristically nervous. "No, nothing like that. I... I need you to be my girlfriend." Sakura nearly choked on her dumpling.

"Sasuke, we're already friends," she said, confused. He sighed, running a hand through his raven hair.

“For someone so brilliant, you can be dense sometimes. I mean I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend. My mother won't stop trying to set me up on dates, and I'm not interested in any of those girls. I need her to think I'm already in a relationship."

Sakura leaned back, considering his request. She had heard from Ino about Mikoto's relentless matchmaking attempts. "Alright, I'll do it," she agreed. "But you owe me big time, Uchiha."

A rare, genuine smile tugged at the corner of Sasuke's mouth. "Thank you, Sakura. We're going out tonight. I'll pick you up at 7." With that, he turned and strode away, leaving Sakura to wonder just what she had gotten herself into.

Ino did tell her earlier that she should take her own advice that she gave as Cherry to seize the moment.

Sakura trudged down the dormitory hallway, her large tote bag overflowing with heavy medical textbooks. She sighed as she reached the door to the room, she shared with Ino, looking forward to taking a hot shower and changing into comfy clothes before her date with Sasuke later that evening.

Unlocking the door, Sakura stepped inside - and froze. There on Ino's bed was her roommate, completely naked, with an equally nude Sai thrusting into her from behind. Ino's large breasts bounced with each powerful stroke.

"Oh! Forehead, I thought you were pulling an all-nighter at the library again!" Ino exclaimed breathlessly, looking over her shoulder at Sakura. This was not the first time Sakura had walked in on them having sex and not the last.  When Sakura pulled all-nighters, it was usually true, but for her to be back before the library closed at two am was odd.

"I was, but I'm meeting Sasuke for dinner in an hour” Sakura replied, averting her eyes from the intimate scene.

Sai continued pumping away, seemingly unfazed by Sakura's sudden appearance. “Hi, Ugly.”

“Did you finally take my advice and ask him out," Ino asked with a giggle that turned into a moan as Sai changed his angle slightly. "Mmm, babe, just like that," she purred to him.

“Not exactly…” Sakura walked over to her dresser in search of a dress to wear tonight. She continued to ignore her roommate and boyfriend making love in front of her.

Ino turned back to Sakura. "What do you mean by not exactly, forehead you better tell me what the fuck is going on!"

Sakura sighs not wanting to tell Ino what Sasuke has asked her with Sai in the room.  They were teammates on the baseball team and Sasuke liked to keep his personal life private.

"I'm going to shower," she said, grabbing her robe and toiletries. "Try to keep it down, will you? I'd like to get ready in peace."

"No promises!" Ino called after her as Sakura shut the bathroom door, still able to hear her friend's escalating moans and the rhythmic thumping of the headboard against the wall. She could not wait to go out tonight.  This was her chance to seize the moment!

An hour later…

Sakura emerged from the bathroom, feeling confident and pretty in her seafoam green dress that flared flirtatiously around her toned thighs. Her pink hair fell in soft, glossy waves and her makeup was impeccable - she felt more than ready for her upcoming date with Sasuke.

"Ugh, you're seriously wearing that? It's so...cute," Ino said, her nose crinkling in distaste as she perched on her bed, wrapped in a silky purple robe.

Ino had eagerly awaited Sakura's appearance from the bathroom, ready to get all the juicy details about this surprise date with Sasuke. She had even kicked Sai out after just one round of steamy sex, sacrificing a second round of mind-blowing sex for this crucial girl talk.

"What's wrong with my dress?" Sakura asked, glancing down at her outfit with a small frown.

Ino dramatically rolled her baby blue eyes. "Cute is fine for like, brunch with the girls. But this is SASUKE we're talking about! The boy you've been in love with since you were twelve. Mr. Hot Shot baseball star...your best friend that you've been having naughty sex dreams about."

"How do you know about the sex dreams?" Sakura squeaked, eyes wide with shock and embarrassment. "And anyway, it's not a real date..."

"Oh please, you talk in your sleep," Ino said with a dismissive wave of her hand. She gracefully rose from the bed and sauntered over to their shared closet. "This calls for something sexy and jaw-dropping. Something that will make Sasuke unable to take his smoldering dark eyes off you all night. Where did you put the dress, I bought you last week?"

Ino rummaged through the hangers and pulled out a skimpy, bodycon dress in a bold, seductive shade of red. "THIS is what you need to wear. It will hug your curves in all the right places and have Sasuke drooling. If you want to turn those steamy dreams into a reality, you need to go all out and turn up the heat tonight, even if you claim it's just a 'fake' date."

Sakura bit her glossy lip, eyeing the provocative dress uncertainly. But Ino did have a point—she had been pining for Sasuke for so long. Maybe it was time to throw caution to the wind and make a real play for his heart (and his body), starting with this date. She did not want to admit to Ino that she was taking her alter ego ‘Cherry’s’ advice about seizing the moment.

Sakura reached out to take the red dress from Ino. Tonight, shy and sweet Sakura was getting a daring makeover.

Chapter 2: Club Tsukuyomi

Chapter Text

Sasuke stood leaning against his sleek black sports car; his dark eyes focused intently on his phone screen as he waited for Sakura to arrive at their agreed-upon meeting spot—the far end of the university’s campus closer to the city. The night air was cool against his skin, carrying with it the distant sounds of Konoha’s nightlife beginning to awaken.

He was dressed sharply in a fitted black dress pants, the top button of his crisp black shirt undone slightly. When the sound of approaching footsteps reached his ears, Sasuke glanced up from his phone—and promptly felt his breath catch in his throat.

Sakura was walking towards him, her pastel pink hair gently tousled by the breeze, wearing a figure-hugging red dress that clung to her curves in all the right places. The short hem showed off her long, toned legs, the heels of her strappy black stilettos clicking against the pavement.

Sasuke swallowed hard, feeling a flush of heat rise to his cheeks. He was so used to seeing Sakura in her usual uniform of oversized sweaters and comfortable jeans, her natural beauty shining through without the need for adornments. But this...this was something else entirely. She was a vision in scarlet, exuding confidence and allure with every step.

“Sasuke-kun," Sakura greeted him with a smile as she drew near, her emerald eyes sparkling, "You clean up nice. So, are you going to tell me where we're going on this fake date?"

Sasuke cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "I thought we could head to Club Tsukuyomi," he replied, naming the popular nightclub owned by his cousin Obito. "It'll look convincing, and my brother and my cousins hang out there often. Obito has a big mouth, and I am sure this date will get back to my mother."

Sakura nodded, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. "Lead the way then," she said, moving around to the passenger side of Sasuke's car. As he opened the door for her, catching another glimpse of her dress and the creamy skin it revealed, Sasuke had a feeling that tonight was going to be very interesting.

Ino marched down the hallway of the dorm with fiery determination, her eyes locked on Naruto's door at the end of the corridor. She knocked her knuckles against the wood forcefully, tapping her foot as she waited impatiently.  This fake dating scheme has his name written all over it.

After a few moments, the door swung open to reveal a shirtless Naruto, his blonde hair tousled and a look of surprise on his face. "Ino? What are you doing here?" he asked, but Ino pushed past him into the room without waiting for an invitation.

She whirled around to face him, hands on her hips. "I know it was you, Naruto. You're the one who suggested to Sasuke that he should ask Sakura to fake date him, aren't you?" she demanded, her voice rising with each word.

Naruto held up his hands, his blue eyes wide with fake innocence. "I don't know what you're talking about, Ino! I didn't do anything!" he protested, but Ino wasn't buying it. She stepped closer, jabbing a finger at his chest. "Don't lie to me, Naruto! I know you're behind this ridiculous scheme!"

From further inside the room, a calm voice interrupted their confrontation. "Naruto, just be honest with her," Gaara called out from where he sat on the bed. Gaara knew Ino was protective when it came to Sakura.  He heard from Naruto that the poor girl was bullied as a child—how Sasuke and Ino were the two who came to her rescue.

Naruto glanced over his shoulder at his boyfriend, then back at Ino, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "Alright, fine. Maybe I did mention something to Sasuke," he admitted sheepishly. "But I was just trying to help! I thought it might bring him and Sakura-chan closer together—to help him prevent his mother from matchmaking with some girl he doesn't like! I even suggested he reach out to Dear Cherry!”

Ino rolled her eyes, “Sasuke reaching out to the person he is in love with would be interesting.”

“Huh? Are you telling me that Sakura-chan is Dear Cherry?”

Sasuke held on to Sakura's hand as he walked past the crowd trying to get into Obito's popular club, feeling the envious glares boring into his back. The pulsing beat of the music emanating from inside reverberated through the ground.

"Sasuke-kun, don't we have to wait in line like everyone else?" Sakura asked, her eyes wide as she took in the massive queue of people waiting behind velvet ropes.

Sasuke just smirked, striding confidently up to the imposing bouncer guarding the entrance. Kisame looked down at the young Uchiha, crossing his muscular arms over his broad chest. "Well, well. You don't come here often, Sasuke," he remarked with a hint of amusement, his sharp teeth glinting. "To what do we owe this rare pleasure?"

"Hn," Sasuke grunted dismissively, matching Kisame's gaze. The bouncer's small eyes flicked over to Sakura, who was clinging onto Sasuke's arm and trying not to be intimidated by Kisame's formidable presence. A knowing look passed over the bouncer's face as he instantly realized what the younger Uchiha was up to. "You know your brother is going to see right through this little charade of yours, kid," Kisame chuckled deeply.

Sasuke's eyes flashed with irritation. "He is not the one I'm trying to convince," he replied curtly. "Are you going to let us in or not?" The two stared each other down for a long moment, obsidian eyes locked with beady black ones, until Kisame finally stepped aside with a shrug, unclipping the velvet rope.

Sasuke pulled Sakura past him without a second glance, into the dark, loud interior of Club Tsukuyomi. The heavy bass pounded through their bones as flashing neon lights illuminated writhing bodies on the dance floor.

Sakura looked around with wonder, vibrant pink hair shimmering in the strobes. Sasuke led her over to the crowded bar, ordering a sweet, fruity cocktail for her and a bitter shot of whiskey for himself. They downed their drinks, the alcohol sending liquid warmth spreading through their veins. It was going to be a long night, and Sasuke needed liquid luck.

The downed one more drink before Sasuke pulled Sakura onto the dance floor, their bodies instinctively finding the rhythm together. Sakura rolled her hips sensually against Sasuke's, his hands gripping her waist. She ran her fingers through his dark, spiky locks as they grinded in time with the heavy electronic beat, getting lost in the music and each other.

Sakura has a talent for making things convincing Sasuke thought to himself.  He could sense eyes staring at him from above.  He knew to put on a show for his obnoxious cousin. To have him run to his mother that he was taken— to put a stop to her matchmaking.   He’s not going to be used as a pawn in whatever game his grandfather was trying to play.

Sasuke spun Sakura around on the dance floor, pulling her flush against his hard body. "Obito is watching us from the VIP balcony," he murmured low in her ear, his hot breath fanning her sensitive skin and making her shiver. "We need to convince him this is real. I'm going to kiss you now."

Sakura's emerald eyes widened but she nodded almost imperceptibly.

Sasuke's onyx gaze smoldered as he cupped her face and captured her lips in a searing, hungry kiss. Sakura melted against him, her fingers curling into his silky raven hair as she kissed him back with matching intensity.

His tongue delved into her mouth, stroking against hers, sending molten heat coursing through her veins. A soft moan escaped her, and Sasuke swallowed it greedily, angling his head to deepen the kiss further. It was hot, intense, intoxicating.

Sakura felt her head spin and her knees go weak. Liquid desire pooled low in her belly as Sasuke ravished her mouth thoroughly, leaving her breathless and aching for more.

They finally broke apart, panting, eyes glazed with want. Sasuke was just about to dive in for another drugging kiss when a meaty hand landed on his shoulder. They looked up to see one of Obito's bouncers looming over them. "Boss wants to see you. Now," he rumbled.

Sasuke shot Sakura a heated look before taking her hand and allowing the bouncer to escort them up to the VIP lounge, to face his cousin's knowing smirk and probing questions about their scandalous little display.

Obito's eyes scanned the crowded dance floor of the dimly lit club from his perch in the exclusive VIP section above. Pulsing beats vibrated through the space as the mass of bodies moved in time with the music. Suddenly, a flash of pink caught his eye near the entrance. Focusing his gaze, he spotted his younger cousin Sasuke accompanied by a strikingly beautiful girl with vivid pink hair. He watched them as they went to the bar to the dance floor but was caught off guard when the couple started making out on the dance floor.

Intrigued, Obito gestured to his bouncers to have them join him in the VIP area. As they ascended the stairs, he called out with a smirk, "Hey Shrimp, did you have to pay this lovely lady to come out with you tonight?"

Before Sasuke could respond, Itachi emerged from the back and greeted the pink-haired beauty warmly. "Sakura, it’s so good to see you."

Obito looked at his cousin quizzically. "You two know each other?"

"Of course, I know Sakura. She has been close friends with Sasuke since childhood," Itachi replied.

“Why didn’t I know about Sasuke’s pretty friend?” Obito asked.

"You were too busy partying to care about what I do," Sasuke retorted.

Obito turned back to Sasuke, ignoring his comment about partying, and expressed curiosity about Sakura. "How did a guy like you end up friends with someone as beautiful as her?"

Annoyed, Sasuke possessively wrapped an arm around Sakura's waist and stated firmly, "How we became friends is none of your business, and she’s not just my friend. Sakura is my girlfriend."

Itachi raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Oh really? When did this happen, little brother?"

“A month ago!” Sasuke glared at his brother.

“We talk daily, and you never mentioned your relationship with Sakura had changed.” Itachi crossed his arms.

“Because it’s...” Sasuke started.

Obito looked between the two brothers, thoroughly entertained by the unfolding drama. He decided to interrupt them, saying, "Well, well, isn’t this interesting! Sasuke, I am not surprised you never mentioned having such a stunning girlfriend to Itachi. I would keep her a secret too. Please, do tell us more about how this romance blossomed!"

Sasuke scowled, pulling Sakura even closer to him. "There's nothing to tell. We've been friends for years and recently decided to take things to the next level. End of story."

But Itachi wasn't going to let it go that easily. He fixed Sasuke with a knowing look. "Sasuke, you know you can't lie to me. This sudden relationship wouldn’t have anything to do with Mother’s matchmaking attempts or Grandfather’s business dealings with the Hyugas, would it? It seems rather... convenient in its timing."

"I said it has nothing to do with that!" Sasuke snapped, his onyx eyes flashing with irritation. "Sakura and I are together because we want to be. I don’t care about Mother’s meddling or Grandfather’s corporate schemes."

Sakura placed a calming hand on Sasuke’s chest. "It's okay, Sasuke," she soothed. Turning to Itachi and Obito, she smiled sweetly. "I can assure you both that our feelings are genuine. We may have started as friends, but we have grown to care for each other very deeply.” Sakura lied, hoping Itachi would believe her.

Sasuke's phone buzzed with an incoming text. Glancing down, he saw it was from his mother, requesting that he bring Sakura to dinner that weekend. "And to go easy on the drinks," he muttered under his breath.

Shoving the phone back into his pocket, Sasuke led Sakura over to one of the plush couches. He sat down and tugged her into his lap, his arms encircling her possessively. "Look, I don’t need either of you giving me the third degree about my relationship," he stated firmly, his gaze flickering between his brother and cousin. "Sakura is my girlfriend—end of discussion. Now, can we talk about something else? Preferably over a drink?"

Obito chuckled, clearly amused by his younger cousin's defensiveness. "Alright, Shrimp, we'll leave you two lovebirds alone... for now. But don't think we won't be watching!" He winked playfully before sauntering off to get their drinks.

Itachi lingered for a moment longer, studying the couple intently. "Sasuke, can we talk?" He inclined his head toward a quiet corner.

Sasuke sighed and gently shifted Sakura off his lap. "I'll be right back," he murmured, brushing a kiss on her temple before following his brother.

Once they were out of earshot, Itachi turned to Sasuke with a serious expression. "I hope you know what you're doing, foolish little brother. If this is just an act to get Mother and Grandfather off your back, you're playing a dangerous game. Sakura is a sweet girl; she doesn't deserve to be used as a pawn."

"I'm not using her. She agreed to help me deal with my mother's meddling, and I do like her—a lot," Sasuke confessed to his brother. He knew he couldn't keep this a secret from him. "I care about her, Itachi. More than... more than I ever thought I could care about anyone."

Itachi searched Sasuke's face for a long moment before finally nodding. "Alright, but you need to tell Sakura that. I will try to convince Grandfather not to use you as a pawn in his business ventures." He placed a hand on his brother's shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Tell her how you feel. From the looks of it, I think she may feel the same way."

With that, Itachi walked away, leaving Sasuke to his thoughts. He gazed over at Sakura, who was laughing at something Obito had said, her emerald eyes sparkling in the dim lighting of the club.

Sasuke walked back over to them and sat next to Sakura, pulling her back into his lap.

"Everything alright?" she asked.

"Hn, I will tell you about it later," he replied.

Sakura sat beside Sasuke in the cozy, dimly lit confines of the university's 24-hour coffee shop. The rich, aromatic scent of freshly brewed coffee permeated the air as they discussed their strategy for the upcoming family dinner on Saturday. Sasuke's jacket was draped protectively over Sakura's shoulders. Not wanting anyone to look at Sakura. The dress she wore this evening was revealing and probably Yamanaka’s doing.  He didn’t question it before, but when they were walking to Four Leaf, and he saw others staring at her, he wanted to cover her up—using the cold spring evening as an excuse.

With a heavy sigh, Sasuke's gaze remained fixed on the swirling patterns in his steaming cup. "Itachi knows what we're up to," he revealed his tone grave.

Sakura leaned in; her brow furrowed with concern. "Is that why he pulled you aside earlier?" she asked.

Sasuke nodded. "He warned me to be careful. When my grandfather wants something, he can be dangerously persistent. He's been pursuing a merger with the Hyuga security business for years, and now he believes an arranged marriage might be the answer."

Sakura's eyes widened as she processed the weight of Sasuke's family expectations. "And you think he's asked your mother to arrange a match with Hinata?"

"I do, but my mother seems more interested in someone else for me," Sasuke replied, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice. "She's always pestered me about you." He knew his mother was right, but he was unsure of Sakura's feelings after their kiss at the club.

Sakura nodded thoughtfully, cradling her steaming mug and allowing the warmth to seep into her hands. "I can only imagine how thrilled your mother must be. She's always had a soft spot for me," she mused, trying to light up the moon. A small smile played on her lips.

Sasuke ran a hand through his dark hair, his brow furrowed. "That's an understatement. She's practically planning our wedding already," he muttered.

Sakura reached across the table and placed her hand over his, her green eyes earnest. "We can do this, Sasuke. We've been friends for so long, surely we can pretend to be in love for one evening."

Sasuke met her gaze, his dark eyes unreadable. "It's not just one evening though, is it? If we pull this off, we'll be expected to keep up appearances. Attend events together, go on dates, the whole nine yards. My family influences this city and…"

Sakura bit her lip, considering the implications. Her friendship with Sasuke has always been met with pushback. How could such a commoner be friends with Sasuke Uchiha? "I know. But it's worth it, isn't it? To help you not be used as a business deal. I'm sure Hinata has no interest in these sorts of things."

Sasuke sighed, his shoulders slumping. "I suppose so. But Sakura... thank you, for doing this. I know it's a lot to ask."

She squeezed his hand, offering a reassuring smile. "That's what friends are for, right? Now, let's start planning our strategy for this dinner. We need to get our story straight and figure out how to act like a couple madly in love."

Not like it will be hard, Sakura thought to herself. I have always been in love with you.

“So, I guess the fake date went well with Sakura-chan?” Naruto asked as he walked beside Sasuke.

They headed towards the dining hall for breakfast.

“Hn…”

“You got in late last night. Go anywhere? Do anything?” Naruto pressed for answers. Trying to get more information from Sasuke.  Information Ino had failed to obtain from Sakura. The excuse Ino told him she was unable to talk to Sakura this morning because like always, Sakura got up with the chickens. He never understood how Sakura could wake up so early, especially after being out late with Sasuke the night before.

“Sakura and I went to Four Leaf for coffee to discuss things last night.” Sasuke sighed, already dreading the interrogation he knew was coming.

“To discuss what?” Naruto questioned.

It seemed everyone wanted details about his evening with Sakura—Shisui had already texted him, crudely asking if he needed any condoms, while his mother had called eagerly inquiring about Sakura's favorite foods which she already knew. He could even hear his father's stern voice in the background, warning him to treat Sakura right. Which surprised him—Fugaku Uchiha doesn't like anyone. Liking Sakura didn't surprise him, Sakura has the appeal to get anyone to like her, it was annoying, especially when other men tried to pursue her for dates.  He hated that.

But the worst was yet to come—his grandfather Madara had requested his presence in his office this afternoon, undoubtedly, to discuss the implications of last night's PDA and his budding relationship with Sakura.  The Uchiha are not the type to show public displays of affection.  They are private people when it comes to love and intimacy.

Sasuke's mind raced, but Naruto's boisterous voice cut through his thoughts. "So... anything else happen between you and Sakura-chan besides coffee at Four Lead?" Naruto asked suggestively, waggling his eyebrows.

Sasuke shot him an icy glare, "I don't know what you're implying, idiot."

Naruto formed an "okay" symbol with one hand and lewdly thrust his other finger in and out of the circle, grinning wickedly.

Sasuke swatted Naruto's hands away, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment and irritation. "We did NOT do...that, moron."

“But you want to,” Naruto only smirked wider, his blue eyes sparkling with glee as he pulled out his phone. "Well, from the looks of this steamy kiss, it sure seems like you wanted to take Sakura for more than a spin on the dance floor!  I didn’t even know you could dance like that—don’t give me the excuse that you were trying to convince Obito. You have been wanting to kiss and grind against Sakura for a while. You even grabbed her ass."

“I don't know what you are talking about.” Sasuke lied and tried to play it off.

“I’m surprised you didn't fuck her right there on the dance floor. Sakura in that red dress.” Naruto whistles before thrusting his phone in Sasuke's face, displaying a tabloid photo of Sasuke and Sakura locked in a passionate embrace, their lips crashing together and hands roaming on the crowded dance floor of Club Tsukuyomi.

Sasuke's eyes widened in horror as he read the blaring headline from Konoha Today:  "IS THE YOUNGEST UCHIHA FUCKING TSUNADE'S STAR PUPIL!"

His heart hammered in his chest, and he cursed under his breath. He should have expected this to happen. Obito’s club was always swarmed with people who would sell out the elite for money.

Shit

If Naruto was able to find that picture, anyone could. His hoard of jealous, heartbroken fangirls would undoubtedly be the first to know and be hounding Sakura, and the one who would lead the charge against her would be Ami.

Without another word to Naruto, Sasuke turned on his heel and sprinted towards the dining hall, desperate to find Sakura before his rabid admirers did.

The last thing he needed was more drama in his life.

Sakura sat alone in the dining hall, her nose buried in a book as she tried to tune out the chatter and clatter of dishes around her.

Suddenly, a shadow fell across the pages. Sakura looked up to see Ami looming over her, surrounded by her usual posse of cronies.

Sakura closed her book and sighed, already sensing where this conversation was headed—to Sasuke.

"You need to break up with Sasuke-kun," Ami declared, arms crossed over her chest. "We've tolerated you two being friends, but dating is completely unacceptable."

Sakura met Ami's glare, refusing to be bullied. "You can't control other people's feelings or relationships.  Sasuke and I care about each other. You need to respect that and stop trying to interfere."  She needed to keep up this charade for Sasuke’s sake. Ami knew powerful people and Sasuke did not need any more drama. He was already stressed out enough.

Ami's face twisted into an ugly sneer. "Oh please, stop acting like you're 'dear cherry' trying to give relationship advice.”

Sakura rolled her eyes. She didn't have time for this, so she started to pack her things up to leave, ignoring Ami.

“Sasuke doesn’t love you. We all know it won't last. Hey billboard brow, don't ignore me, bitch.”

Ami raised a hand to slap Sakura, but a blur of movement intercepted her. Sasuke stood there, grabbing Ami's wrist in midair. "Back off," he warned.

“Sasuke-kun…you’re hurting me,” Ami whined.

“And you're harassing Sakura,” Sasuke growled, releasing her wrist before turning to Sakura, “You, okay?” He asked as he cupped her face gently and kissed her forehead, in front of everyone.

Sakura's eyes widened in shock—Sasuke was never one for PDA. She was the one always initiating contact, but this kiss was unexpected. Sasuke was usually so reserved, and he had only kissed her last night as part of their ruse to trick Obito. But this... this felt different. Her pulse raced and butterflies fluttered in her stomach as she stared up at him with wide eyes.

"I- I have to get to class," she stammered, grabbing her book and fleeing the dining hall, all too aware of the tingling warmth of Sasuke's kiss lingering on her skin.

Sasuke sighed, his dark eyes following Sakura's retreating form as she hurried away, her pink hair bouncing with each step.

He clenched his fists in frustration, knowing he desperately needed a private conversation with Sakura—to sort out the complicated feelings swirling between them. He thought their fake relationship wouldn’t change things between them, but he was wrong.  He felt guilty for putting her through this.  He should have never listened to Naruto about pretending to date to get his mother off his back. Before he could dwell on it further, Ami sidled up to him, a sly smile on her face.

“So, Sasuke-kun, word on the street is that you and Sakura are dating now. But we all know that's just a sham, right? I mean, everyone's talking about the big merger being negotiated between the Hyuga and Uchiha. Surely you wouldn't jeopardize that by falling for someone like her," Ami purred, batting her eyelashes in a poor attempt at flirtation.

There was absolutely nothing wrong or lacking when it came to Sakura—she was perfect in every way that truly mattered. Yes, they may have come from different walks of life, with him being the heir of a powerful, wealthy family and her having more humble roots. But none of those superficial trappings made any difference to who they were at their cores. Sakura saw past all of that, saw him simply as Sasuke—the man, not the Uchiha name and legacy. She understood and appreciated him on a profound level that no one else ever had. It is why he had fallen for her in the first place, but he has never told her that. Friendship came first, but he knew things were changing.

"Listen carefully, because I won't repeat myself," he snarled, his rich baritone leaving no room for debate or defiance. "Sakura is the woman I love with every fiber of my being. She owns my heart completely and irrevocably. And I absolutely will not tolerate anyone disrespecting her or belittling our bond. So, I strongly suggest you and your pathetic little entourage of nobodies back the hell off and leave us in peace, or you'll sorely regret it."

Ami's eyes widened in disbelief as she took a step back, quickly signaling her friends to follow as they hurried away.

Naruto appeared next to Sasuke, letting out a low, impressed whistle. "Damn, Teme, that was intense!

"Not another word," Sasuke growled warningly.

"How can I not comment? I still can't believe you laid one on Sakura-chan in front of the whole damn school!" Naruto crowed.

"I said shut it, Dobe," Sasuke snapped irritably.

"And I can't believe she bolted like a spooked rabbit afterward! I mean, I get it - I'd probably freak out too if I suddenly got a smooch from the Uchiha hottie himself," Naruto snickered.

"Naruto..." Sasuke's voice dropped into a menacing hiss.

"Relax, Teme," Naruto smirked. "Sakura-chan didn't run off because she's not into you. That girl is head over heels, crazy in love with you just as much as you are with her. The sexual tension crackling between you two is so damn thick, you could cut it with a knife! She's just scared if she stays too close, she won't be able to keep her hands off your hot body of yours, if you know what I mean," he added, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. "She wants that Uchiha Dick, BADLY."

"Naruto!" Sasuke barked, cheeks flushing the barest hint of pink.

"For real though, anyone with eyes can see you're both gone for each other. I'm telling you, if you two would just give in and bone already, it would go a long way to resolving this whole angsty 'best friends secretly in love' drama you've got going on. I mean, that's why I suggested this fake dating thing in the first place—to give you a much-needed push in the right direction!" Naruto huffed. “And to get Aunite Mikoto off your back.”

"And what direction might that be?" Sasuke bit out tersely, narrowing his eyes.

"Uh, towards finally admitting you want to be way more than 'just friends' and making it official? Turn the fake dating into an actual relationship with sex. Duh!" Naruto spelled out like it should be obvious.

"Hn..." Sasuke grunted noncommittally, shoving his hands in his pockets as he turned and walked away, a contemplative furrow in his brow. Unwilling as he was to admit it, maybe the idiot was on to something. Maybe it was time to lay all his cards on the table and confess his true feelings to Sakura. To call off the fake dating. But first, he needed to have a crucial conversation with his grandfather and make sure nothing would stand in the way of claiming Sakura as his... permanently.

Sakura sat on the roof of the medical building, her heart pounding and mind racing as she tried to process the whirlwind of emotions consuming her. Sasuke, her childhood best friend, longtime unrequited crush, and now fake boyfriend, had once again come to her rescue like a dark knight, saving her from the vicious verbal attacks and jealous rage of his obsessive fangirl Ami and her loyal clique.

But it wasn't just his chivalrous heroics that had Sakura's pulse racing and head spinning—it was the tender, intimate moment that followed, seared into her memory. In front of the entire crowded dining hall, Sasuke had leaned in close, his smoky onyx eyes smoldering with an intensity that made her weak in the knees, and pressed his lips against her forehead in the gentlest of kisses, sending shockwaves of molten desire rippling through every nerve ending in her body.

As Sakura replayed the scene over and over in her mind like a broken record, she could feel the searing heat rising in her cheeks, and a familiar ache of need pulsing between her trembling thighs.

God, how was she supposed to keep pretending this relationship was fake when every cell in her body screamed for it to be real? It was getting harder each day to resist the magnetic pull she felt towards Sasuke. To stop herself from grabbing him by the collar of his shirt, pulling him close, and crushing her mouth against his in a passionate, desperate kiss.

Sakura fantasized about running her fingers through his dark, silky hair as he kissed down her neck, his hands roaming her curves...She imagined straddling him right there on the rooftop, grinding against the hard bulge in his pants as breathy moans escaped her lips. In her mind, she was bold enough to undo his zipper, freeing his throbbing erection before sinking down on him, taking every inch deep inside her aching core...

"Fuck," Sakura whispered, her cheeks flushed and panties damp from the forbidden direction of her thoughts. Being alone with Sasuke was getting dangerous. All it would take was one heated look, one lingering touch, and Sakura knew her willpower would crumble. She'd end up begging him to take her, right then and there, consequences be damned.

Avoiding him seemed the only solution, but it was impossible with the upcoming dinner at Emberleaf looming over her. Sakura groaned, knowing she'd have to play the devoted girlfriend in front of his whole family and pray she didn't slip up and reveal her true feelings in the process. Because if Sasuke discovered the depth of her desire for him, the tender friendship they'd built would lay in ruins. And that was a heartbreak Sakura wasn't sure she could survive.

Sakura groaned and buried her face against her knees.

“Are you avoiding me, forehead!" Ino's accusing voice cut through Sakura's turbulent thoughts. The blonde stood with her arms crossed, blue eyes narrowed.

"I am not avoiding you, pig," Sakura mumbled.

“You left early this morning…”

“I always leave early in the morning.  The gym is empty, and I needed to punch something.”

“My mistake, you're avoiding Sasuke's fangirls?" Sakura lifted her head, shooting Ino a glare.

“Not exactly, besides, they found me already, not like it is hard when you are the only student at this university with pink hair.”

“Okay… so, you are avoiding Uchiha!”  Ino sat across from her friend.

“Yes and no..." she admitted.

“Do I need to force the words out of you? Use mind tricks to get you to talk.”

Sakura bit her lip, knowing her best friend wouldn't let this go until she spilled everything. "You don't need to use your Jedi mind tricks on me.”

“Nerd!”

Sakura stuck out her tongue and knew the nerd comment was not an insult. Ino was just trying to lighten up the mood.

“So, are you going to tell me why you are losing your mind?” Ino questioned.

“Because I am! Dinner with his parents and god knows who else!" Sakura cried.

“You have had dinner with them before.”

“We weren't in a fake romantic relationship then, and at his parent's house not a fancy restaurant like Emberleaf.”  Sakura grumbled, “Sasuke-kun and I came up with a strategy, but I just know something will go wrong. I'll slip up and his parents will see right through our act. Then not only will things be awkward."

“His family loves you and Mikoto has wanted you as her daughter-in-law for years.”

“Do you talk to Sasuke-kun behind my back? Because he said the same thing.”

“Sasuke, talk. All that boy knows how to growl and grunt. The only person he has a conversation with is you! Anything else bothering you, I can tell you are sexually frustrated.”

"Ugh, it's just getting so hard to keep pretending with Sasuke," Sakura groaned, burying her face in her hands. "Especially after we kissed at Obito's club the other night on the dance floor. It felt so real, so electric. I can't stop thinking about it."  She looked up at Ino with tortured eyes. "And the dreams...oh god, the sex dreams about Sasuke are so vivid now. I'm worried that if I'm alone in a room with him, I might not be able to control myself."

Ino's eyes widened. "Whoa, sounds like you've got it bad, girl. But you've got to keep it together.”

She shook her head miserably. "I'm not sure how much longer I can do this, Ino. Pretending to fake date the guy I'm head over heels for...it's torture. Especially now that I know what his lips feel like, how perfectly our bodies fit together when we dance... I'm doomed. Even as Cherry, I don't know what the fuck I want to do!!!”

Sasuke arrived at the top floor of the prestigious Uchiha Law offices, his nerves on edge as he prepared to face his grandfather and discuss his relationship with Sakura. As he stepped out of the elevator, he was immediately greeted by the warm smile of Izumi, his brother Itachi's fiancée and Madara's trusted secretary. "Sasuke, it's wonderful to see you," Izumi beamed, her kind eyes crinkling at the corners.

"Though I wish it were under less stressful circumstances." Sasuke let out a tense sigh, his dark eyes flickering downward as he contemplated the impending conversation. "I just hope Grandfather isn't too upset about my relationship with Sakura. I know he had other plans for me," he confessed, his shoulders sagging slightly under the weight of his worries.

Izumi reached out and gave Sasuke's arm a reassuring squeeze, her touch gentle yet firm. "You have nothing to fret about, Sasuke. Your family adores Sakura! Her close connection to Tsunade is a huge asset, and I guarantee it won't jeopardize the merger with Hyuga Corp whatsoever. Madara is a smart businessman—he recognizes the immense value she brings to the table," she affirmed, her voice brimming with confidence and support.

At that precise moment, Izuna emerged from Madara's office, his eyes lighting up with genuine affection when he spotted his beloved great-nephew. "Sasuke, my boy!" Izuna chuckled, his deep, rich voice echoing through the elegantly appointed waiting area as he clapped Sasuke heartily on the back.

Sasuke managed a small smile in return, though his stomach still churned with nerves, a vortex of anxiety swirling within him. He knew his uncanny resemblance to Izuna was likely why Madara had always taken such a keen interest in grooming him as his successor, even over his brilliant and accomplished older brother, Itachi.

"My brother is ready for you," Izuna said, ushering Sasuke toward the imposing double doors that led to Madara's inner sanctum. "And don't look so worried! Madara isn't angry, I assure you," he added with a reassuring wink.

Is he truly not angry? Sasuke couldn't help but wonder as he took a deep, steadying breath and nodded, steeling himself for the potentially life-altering encounter that awaited him. With a final step, he crossed the threshold into his grandfather's expansive corner office, the epitome of power and prestige. Madara looked up from his desk, his piercing gaze softening slightly as he took in the sight of his youngest grandson, the spitting image of his beloved brother Izuna.

"Ah Sasuke, do come in," he rumbled, his deep baritone filling the room as he gestured to the plush, leather-upholstered chair opposite him. "Let's discuss this Sakura situation, shall we?"

Sasuke lowered himself into the chair, his posture straight and proud despite the nervous energy thrumming through his veins. Meeting Madara's intense stare head-on, "Grandfather, I know my relationship with Sakura may seem sudden to you, but I assure you, my feelings for her are genuine and unwavering. She means the world to me.”

Madara leaned forward, his elbows resting on the polished mahogany desk as he studied Sasuke thoughtfully, his eyes seeming to peer into the very depths of his grandson's soul. "I don't doubt the authenticity of your feelings, Sasuke. And truthfully, I quite approve of the match. Sakura is intelligent, accomplished, and well-connected—all admirable qualities. She'll make a fitting Uchiha bride," he acknowledged his words carrying the weight of centuries of tradition and expectation.

"We've only just started dating, Grandfather. We haven't discussed marriage yet," Sasuke interjected, his brow furrowing slightly at the presumptuous nature of Madara's statement.

"You may not have proposed the subject of marriage explicitly, but it is undoubtedly on the table, Sasuke. Having someone with close ties to the Senju family as part of our own is a matter of great strategic importance," Madara countered, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Sasuke felt a wave of relief wash over him, the knots in his stomach loosening ever so slightly. He had feared his grandfather's wrath and disapproval, but it seemed that Madara was more amenable to his relationship with Sakura than he had initially anticipated. However, the young Uchiha couldn't shake the nagging feeling that there was more to this meeting than met the eye, a hidden agenda lurking beneath the surface of Madara's apparent acceptance.

As if reading Sasuke's thoughts, Madara leaned back in his chair, "However, before I bestow my full blessing upon this union, Sakura must first prove herself worthy of bearing the Uchiha name. She must pass a test of my own devising, a trial that will demonstrate her dedication to our family.”

“And what kind of test will it be?”

“You will find out this weekend, don’t be late, Sasuke.”

Sakura's stomach churned with anxiety as she frantically rummaged through her closet, tossing aside shirts, skirts, and dresses in a desperate attempt to find the perfect outfit.

Today was the big day—the nerve-wracking introduction to Sasuke's family as his girlfriend where they would have to convincingly play the part of a happy couple, even though their relationship was nothing more than an elaborate ruse to get his family off his back about a possible arranged marriage with Hinata Hyuga.

Sakura's hands trembled slightly as she held up a floral sundress, scrutinizing it with a critical eye before shaking her head and discarding it onto the growing pile on her bed.

Ino watched her best friend's frantic state with amusement and concern. "Sakura, relax! You've hung out with Sasuke's family plenty of times before," Ino reassured her, but Sakura just shook her head, emerald eyes wide and anxious. "This is different," she insisted.

“We've always just been friends, but now... now I have to make them believe we're madly in love. What if I say the wrong thing? What if they see right through me?" She groaned, burying her face in her hands.

Ino crossed the room and gently pried Sakura's hands away, giving them a comforting squeeze. "You've got this," Ino said firmly. "Sasuke's going to be right there with you, and you two have been strategizing all week for this. Now, let's find you something stunning to wear that will knock their socks off!"

Ino dove into Sakura's closet, plucking out a sleek red cocktail dress. Sakura eyed it warily, but Ino just grinned. "Trust me, you'll look amazing in this. Sasuke won't know what hit him!"

“We are only friends, and he is not the one I need to impress. Besides nothing is going to come out of this!”

“Didn’t you tell me the other day that you are afraid you are going to jump him, and have you seen the way he looks at you? He is so in love with you too and trust me.”

An hour later, Sakura stood nervously adjusting the dress as she examined her reflection. Ino had worked her magic, and with her hair swept into an elegant updo and smoky eyeshadow making her eyes pop, Sakura had to admit she looked incredible.

A knock sounded at the door, and Sakura's heart leaped into her throat. This was it. She took a deep breath, grabbed her clutch, and went to face Sasuke, praying they could pull off the charade in front of his eagle-eyed family. It was going to be a long night.

Chapter Text

"Sasuke is never late," Mikoto said, pacing back and forth in the private room they had booked at Emberleaf, Konoha’s Michelin Star Restaurant. Her father hadn't arrived either, but he was always fashionably late. She was not worried about him. She was worried about her baby boy.

Mikoto was upset with her father and the games he played regarding the relationships her children formed.  Whether romantic or friendship, Madara always had to test those who wanted to be close to their family.  She knew it was resentment of how they were treated in the early days of Konoha, but things were different now. The Uchiha were respected amongst their peers and one of the most powerful families in this city.

"Tsuma, I'm sure he's just stuck in traffic. It is Friday evening in Konoha.” Fugaku tried to calm his wife. He knew she was worried from the way she dug her nails into her first, one of the habits Sasuke inherited. He knew she had every right to be worried after someone kidnapped Sasuke as a child, but their son was an adult now capable of taking care of himself.

"I bet he's stuck in traffic," Shisui whispered to Obito, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"I bet little Sasuke is off somewhere secluded with his hot girlfriend," Obito snickered. “I am sure they are getting handsy.”

Itachi shot his cousins a disapproving look. He didn't understand why they were there. This was supposed to be a small affair with his parents, his fiancée, and their grandfather, but now it had turned into a grand event with extended family. Sasuke having a girlfriend was a big deal. A bigger deal than him marrying Izumi in a couple of months. Everyone thought Sasuke would end up alone the way he pushed girls’ way.

"Dear, you don't need to worry," Izumi said, placing a comforting hand on Itachi's shoulder.

"This is out of character for Sasuke. He's either early or exactly on time. The only time he was late was when he was seven, and you know the story," Itachi sighed.

"I know, and that's why you have him share his location with you, so that event doesn't happen again," Izumi sighed, "Have you checked his location?"

Itachi sighed and looked down at his phone. Sasuke's location showed him a block away from the restaurant, but that was twenty minutes ago.

"See, he's—" Izumi began, but Itachi cut her off.

"I need to make a call." Itachi leaned down and kissed Izumi on the cheek before heading to the lobby.

Sasuke looked at Sakura as he drove to Emberleaf.  He watched Sakura scrunched the fabric of her red dress in her hand. Did he make her nervous? He had been meaning to ask her why she’s been avoiding him all week, but he already knew the answer.  Naruto spelled it out for him. For an idiot. He seems to understand others' feelings well.

He continued to stare at her and let out a heavy sigh. Sasuke knew Sakura was one to wear her heart on her sleeve. He should have seen it—her feelings for him were clear as day, but part of him was not ready to accept it. They already acted like a couple even before this whole pretend dating scheme. Why not make it official? Was he worried about losing her if he made a mistake? He knew he was guilty of making her cry on multiple occasions, but he was also one of the few people who made her smile. Truly smile.

Sasuke bit his lip and knew there was no turning back once those floodgates were open. Uchiha's love is different.  It is filled with passion. Emotion.  A love that binds the soul.

“Sakura…” He pulled over suddenly.  They were about a block from the restaurant, in a secluded spot, near a cherry blossom tree.

“Why did you pull over? We don't want to be…” Sakura paused when she met his gaze, “Is something wrong Sasuke-kun.”

“You have been avoiding me all week, are you upset with me.” He questioned.

“No, I have just been…” Sakura avoided Sasuke’s gaze, her heart fluttered when she heard the crinkling on his leather seats and his hand on her chin.

“Sakura, if something is wrong you can tell me…” Sasuke spoke softly. “Did I do something wrong?”

“You didn’t do anything wrong…” Sakura's heart raced as Sasuke's obsidian eyes bore into her emerald orbs.  Why did he have to look at her like that?  She has been trying to keep herself in check this whole ride. She was a wreck inside ready to explode. Ready to jump him at any chance.  To take his, thick, hard—Sakura pinched herself. She cannot be thinking of his dick in a moment like this.

“Sakura…” He spoke softly.

Control yourself, Sakura thought to herself.

She felt his thumb gently brushing away the tears that had begun streaming down her flushed cheeks.  Why did she have to cry in front of him? Sakura looked down at her trembling hands, unable to meet Sasuke's intense stare any longer. Her heart felt like it was being squeezed in a vice grip as she struggled to find the right words.

“You can talk to me, Sakura.”  He hated seeing her upset. It broke him to see her sad like this.  The last time he saw her cry was when her parents got divorced when she was twelve.  Or when she was sleep-deprived, studying for one of Tsunade’s tests.

"Sasuke-kun, I... I can't keep pretending like this anymore. Going through the motions of this fake relationship, putting on an act in front of everyone. It is tearing me apart. I..."

She paused, swallowing the lump rising in her throat. "The truth is I've been in love with you since we were kids. Genuinely, deeply in love. I never dared to tell you, terrified that I'd lose you as a friend. You've always been one of the few people I felt close to. But with each passing day of this charade, seeing how easy it is for you, my heart breaks a little more. I can't keep fooling myself, thinking maybe, just maybe, you'll realize you feel the same way. It hurts too much, Sasuke-kun. I... I think we need to end this before I completely fall to pieces."

Sakura finally lifted her watery eyes to his, a sad smile on her trembling lips as the tears began to fall freely down her cheeks.

Sakura's eyes shimmered with tears as she awaited Sasuke's response, her heart lay bare and vulnerable before him.

Sasuke's onyx eyes widened slightly as Sakura's confession washed over him. His heart began to race, pounding against his ribcage as the weight of her words sank in. At that moment, all the pent-up emotions he had been suppressing for years came rushing to the surface like a tidal wave.

Reaching out, he cupped Sakura's face tenderly, his thumb brushing away the crystalline tears that trailed down her cheeks. "Sakura," he breathed, his voice low and husky, "I feel the same way. I always have."

Leaning in, he captured her soft, pink lips with his own in a searing kiss that conveyed the depth of his feelings more than words ever could.

As their mouths moved in perfect synchronicity, Sasuke's hands began to roam over Sakura's curves, the heat of his touch igniting a fire within her very core.

Sakura tangled her fingers in Sasuke's raven locks, pulling him impossibly closer as she melted into his embrace, the rest of the world fading away until only the two of them remained.

Sasuke kissed Sakura's neck, his tongue tracing a sensual path as he slowly pulled the thin strap of her elegant red dress down her shoulder. The silky fabric slipped away to reveal her pert, rose-tipped breast. Sasuke's lips found the sensitive peak, drawing it into his warm mouth and swirling his tongue around the hardened nub. Sakura let out a breathy moan, her fingers tangling in his raven hair as sparks of pleasure radiated through her body. She fumbled with his tie, finally loosening it enough to undo the buttons of his crisp white shirt, exposing his perfectly sculpted chest and abs.

Sakura's mind was fogged with heady desire, scarcely able to believe this was really happening and not just another one of her long-held fantasies starring the devastatingly handsome Uchiha heir. But as Sasuke's fingers slid beneath the high slit of her dress and slipped under the lacy edge of her thong to stroke her slick, aching center, Sakura knew with absolute certainty that this was no dream.

Sasuke captured Sakura's lips in an intense kiss, his tongue delving into her mouth to taste her sweetness as his fingers continued their sensual exploration. He groaned low in his throat when he found her dripping with arousal. "You're so wet for me already," he murmured huskily against her lips. Sasuke was painfully hard, his rigid length throbbing with need as it strained against the confines of his trousers.

Sakura's fingers made quick work of his belt and zipper. She wrapped her small hand around his impressive girth, stroking him from base to tip in a slow, sensual rhythm that had Sasuke letting out a guttural moan. He slid two long fingers into her tight heat, pumping them in and out as his thumb circled the sensitive bundle of nerves at the apex of her thighs.

"Sasuke-kun!" Sakura gasped, her back arching as jolts of electric bliss shot through her. She was so close already, teetering on the edge of euphoria. Sasuke withdrew his fingers, making Sakura whimper at the loss, but it was only so he could hook his thumbs into her lacy thong and drag the scrap of fabric down her shapely legs. He tucked the damp panties into his suit jacket pocket with a roguish smirk before positioning himself at her entrance.

Just as Sasuke was about to plunge into Sakura's welcoming warmth, the shrill ringing of his phone cut through the haze of lust like a bucket of ice water. "Ignore it," Sakura pleaded breathlessly, but Sasuke pulled back with a frustrated growl, fumbling for the device. Itachi's name flashed insistently on the screen.

"What?" Sasuke bit out as he answered the call. Sakura took the opportunity to lean down and take his thick, pulsing shaft into her eager mouth, swirling her tongue around the engorged, glistening head.

Sasuke's fingers threaded into her silky pink tresses, holding her hair back from her face so he could watch as she bobbed up and down his impressive length, her lips stretched obscenely around his cock. Sakura moaned around him, the vibrations sending shockwaves of pleasure through his body.

"I hope you're aware that you and Sakura are now fifteen minutes late," Itachi's smooth voice came over the line.

Sasuke struggled to keep his voice even, barely suppressing a groan as Sakura hollowed her cheeks and sucked him harder, taking him deep into her throat. "I'm very much aware," Sasuke grunted. "There's a lot of traffic."

"You're a terrible liar, little brother," Itachi chuckled knowingly. "I can see that you're parked just a block away. Next time, remember to turn off your location when you plan to fuck. Luckily, Grandfather hasn't arrived yet..."

"We will be there in ten minutes," Sasuke lied, his breath hitching as Sakura fondled his heavy balls.

"I will give you twenty—any later, I am sending out a search party for you. I don't think you want Shisui or Obito finding you and Sakura in such a compromising position."

The phone call ended abruptly. Sasuke's head fell back, onyx eyes fluttering shut in bliss as Sakura worshipped his cock with her talented mouth, driven by an all-consuming need to taste his essence. "Sakura," he rasped, "as much as I want to come down your throat right now, we need to go before Itachi makes good on his threat."

With a final, sensual lick, Sakura released him and sat up, lips swollen and glistening with saliva and pre-cum. "To be continued," she purred with a wink, leaving Sasuke painfully hard and aching for release.

Sakura and Sasuke finally arrived at Emberleaf restaurant, their appearances slightly disheveled, subtle evidence of their heated encounter moments before in Sasuke's car still clinging to them like a tantalizing secret. Itachi stood waiting in the grand lobby, his arms crossed and his perceptive gaze taking in their mildly rumpled state with a knowing glint in his eye as if he could see right through the façade of their hastily straightened clothes and smoothed hair. "You are lucky grandfather has not arrived yet," he remarked, a hint of amusement dancing in his velvet voice. "But I am glad you made it here within the time I allotted. I am quite certain you did not wish for our cousins to stumble upon you two in the midst of your...intimate activities."

"We did not have sex," Sasuke growled, his voice low and defensive, though his thoughts betrayed him. You interrupted us, he silently lamented, frustration simmering beneath his stoic exterior.

"Ah, but you were on the cusp of it, were you not?" Itachi countered smoothly, a sly smile playing at the corners of his lips. Turning his attention to Sakura, his expression softened, a gentle warmth emanating from his handsome features as he regarded her with a touch of affection.

Sakura felt a blush rise to her cheeks at his astute observation, embarrassment flooding through her at the realization that he knew exactly what they had been up to. However, her self-consciousness quickly dissipated as she found herself once again in awe of the breathtaking beauty that seemed to be an inherent trait of the Uchiha clan. Each time she encountered one of them, she couldn't help but marvel at their stunning good looks, as if it should be a crime for a single family to possess such an overabundance of attractive genes.

"It's wonderful to see you again, Sakura," Itachi greeted her warmly. "I trust that Sasuke has fully briefed you on the nature of grandfather's test and what it will entail?"

"Test?" Sakura echoed, turning to Sasuke with a quizzical look, only to find him quickly averting his gaze. A sinking feeling settled in her stomach as she realized that perhaps avoiding him all week had not been the wisest course of action. If she had made an effort to communicate with him, she would have been well-informed about this mysterious test Sasuke’s grandfather had in store for her. Had Sasuke intended to fill her in during their car ride, before they became swept up in their passionate encounter?

"You neglected to properly prepare Sakura for grandfather's impending interrogation?" Itachi questioned, his eyebrow arching in surprise and disapproval.

Sasuke tugged at his shirt collar, feeling the heat of a flush creeping up the back of his neck as Itachi's astute observation hit the mark with uncanny precision. "I had every intention of explaining it to her, but we found ourselves...otherwise engaged," he admitted, his dark eyes darting away briefly, a telltale sign of his discomfort.

Itachi's piercing gaze bore into them, effortlessly seeing through the thinly veiled excuse, understanding the unspoken truth that hung heavily in the air between them. "I see..." he mused, a note of empathy lacing his words. He was all too aware of the electric tension that had been crackling between Sakura and Sasuke ever since that fateful night, the unresolved desire that threatened to consume them both. Silently, he hoped that the evening would unfold in their favor, allowing them to finally surrender to the undeniable passion that burned within their hearts, to lose themselves in the sweet embrace of love, and finally find the happiness they both so desperately craved.

"What exactly does this test involve?" Sakura asked, glancing between the two brothers.  Sakura could tell Itachi knew what almost transpired between her and Sasuke.  Her core was still aching for him. She took a deep, steadying breath, trying to shake off the remnants of passion and focus on this test.

"It's a long-standing tradition in our family," Itachi began. "Grandfather firmly believes that before anyone can truly be considered part of the Uchiha legacy, they must first prove their worth through a series of challenges designed to test their character. It's not simply about physical strength or skill; it's about deeply understanding and embodying the core values and principles that our family holds dear."

Sasuke shifted his weight uncomfortably, a frown tugging at his handsome features. He should know better than anyone what these tests entail, having witnessed Itachi go through a similar ordeal with Izumi. But putting it into words himself proved more difficult. "And what exactly does that mean? What kind of challenges are we talking about here?"

"It varies," Itachi replied, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. "Some tests are intensely physical, pushing the limits of endurance and strength. Others are more mental, challenging the intellect and powers of deduction. There may be intricate puzzles to solve or high-pressure situations that require Sakura to demonstrate her loyalty, integrity, and strength of character. Grandfather wants to see how she handles immense pressure and makes critical decisions while under duress. The Uchiha have always had a flair for the dramatics and theatrics, so you must be prepared for anything he might throw your way.”

Sakura felt the knot of anxiety tightening in the pit of her stomach, twisting and turning like a coiled serpent ready to strike. "And when does this test take place?" she asked, her voice steady despite the rising tide of apprehension surging within her. She clenched her fists at her sides, nails digging into her palms as she fought to maintain her composure.

"It could be at any moment now," Itachi replied, his gaze flicking to the ornate, antique clock hanging in the opulent lobby, its intricate hands ticking away the seconds. "Grandfather is notoriously capricious and unpredictable, reveling in the element of spontaneity and catching people off guard. You must be prepared for anything, ready to adapt and improvise at a moment's notice."

Sasuke raked a hand through his dark, unruly hair in frustration, the strands standing on end like the hackles of a cornered animal. "Great. Just what we need—even more pressure and scrutiny piled on top of everything else," he muttered under his breath, his jaw clenched tight with simmering tension.

"It's not meant to be a punishment, Sasuke. You of all people should understand that, and it should be easier for you both now that you've decided to abandon your ill-conceived charade," Itachi said, his tone firm but not unkind. "And I have the utmost faith in Sakura.  She is fiercely intelligent and determined - not just anyone can gain admittance to Tsunade Senju's notoriously competitive medical program."

Sakura felt a flush of pride warming her cheeks at Itachi's sincere compliment. Getting accepted by Professor Senju had been no easy feat - she had very nearly been rejected, but Sakura's tenacity and grit had won out in the end when she marched into Tsunade's office and boldly demanded to be taken on as her student.

"Sasuke already informed me that you were aware of our arrangement," Sakura said, crossing her arms over her chest, a defensive posture belying her inner turmoil.

"Sasuke always was able to confide in you, even when he struggled to open up to others," Itachi said with a warm, affectionate smile as he regarded his younger brother. "This test is meant to be an opportunity for growth, not only as individuals but as a couple as well. You've always excelled in terms of physical prowess and strength, Sasuke, but this challenge is about so much more than brute force alone. It's about deeply understanding your place in the world, the weighty responsibilities and lofty expectations that come with being a Uchiha, and rising to meet them head-on with unwavering courage and steadfast conviction."

"We should head in and face this test."

Sakura nodded slowly, the gravity of Itachi's words settling over her like a leaden cloak. She steeled herself for whatever trials lay ahead, reaching out instinctively to intertwine her trembling fingers with Sasuke's, drawing strength and comfort from his familiar, reassuring warmth as they followed Itachi into the room.

Sakura's keen gaze swept the room, alighting on some familiar faces - Izumi, Shisui, Obito. But one man caught her off guard, an older gentleman who bore an uncanny resemblance to Sasuke.

"That's my great uncle Izuna," Sasuke murmured under his breath. "He's my grandfather's younger brother. Many in the family believe Madara favors me because I'm the spitting image of Izuna in his youth."

"I can certainly see the striking resemblance," Sakura replied, mustering a polite smile as Izuna approached them purposefully.

"Sasuke, my boy. You've finally arrived," Izuna said, a warm, genuine smile illuminating his weathered features as he clasped a hand on his great-nephew's shoulder. "And this lovely young lady must be Sakura. I'm sorry we haven't had the pleasure of meeting before now, but I'm afraid my frequent business travels always seemed to coincide with Mikoto's invitations to have you over."

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Sakura said graciously, her smile widening as she watched Izuna fuss over Sasuke's slightly askew tie with obvious fondness.

"You know, kid, you really ought to have popped into the restroom first to make yourself more presentable. We can't have my brother getting wind that his favorite was engaging in any pre-dinner canoodling, now can we?" Izuna chuckled, his eyes glinting with playful mischief.

Sasuke's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and he quickly averted his gaze, suddenly finding the intricate pattern of the marble floor utterly fascinating.

"Ah, don't you fret, your secret is safe with me. But I'm afraid I can't make any promises when it comes to Shisui or Obito - they were already making some rather cheeky remarks when your mother was beside herself with worry over your absence," Izuna continued, a knowing, conspiratorial grin tugging at the corners of his mouth.

Sasuke's shoulders slumped in resignation, a barely audible "Ah" escaping his lips as he realized the futility of trying to keep anything from his nosy relatives.

"I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it - I doubt Mikoto was paying their gossip any mind, so preoccupied was she with fretting over you. Why don't you go over there and offer the poor woman a heartfelt apology? And for heaven's sake, come up with a plausible excuse for your tardiness," Izuna advised, giving Sasuke an encouraging pat on the back.

Madara made his way to the restaurant, intentionally arriving fashionably late for the dinner set up to test Sakura.

He was coming from his meeting with his old friend Hashirama. The purpose of their rendezvous was to gather intelligence on Sasuke's alleged new girlfriend, a young woman Madara was already somewhat acquainted with through his daughter Mikoto's frequent mentions of her - the girl she desperately hoped Sasuke would finally take an interest in. Madara had his suspicions that Mikoto was purposefully trying to pair Sasuke up with women she knew full well he would never be attracted to.

His mind wandered back to the conversation he had shared with Hashirama earlier that day in Hashirama's office. "This is an unusual surprise, you coming to see me at work like this," Hashirama had commented with a raised eyebrow as Madara took a seat across from him. "Well, you're not an easy man to pin down these days, and I didn't want to bother your granddaughter about this particular issue, seeing as it concerns her star pupil," Madara smoothly replied.

"I see, so this isn't merely a friendly social call then. You're after information on the young lady your grandson has taken up with," Hashirama astutely deduced. "Or more accurately, the one he's pretending to have taken up with," Madara clarified. "I know my grandson inside and out - the boy is brilliant and normally ten steps ahead of the game, but when it comes to the fairer sex, he's utterly hopeless. I'd bet my fortune that he's somehow persuaded this poor girl to play along with his little charade."

"No doubt that rapscallion Naruto played a role in convincing him to go through with it," Hashirama mused with a chuckle. Madara simply grunted in agreement.

"So, tell me, what would you like to know about the lovely Sakura? She's practically an honorary member of the Senju clan at this point, what with how fond Tsunade has grown of her," Hashirama offered amiably.

"I'm curious about her family background," Madara said, getting straight to the point as usual.

"Well, her parents are divorced, you see. When she wasn't away at school, she lived primarily with her father. I suspect that's a large part of why she formed such strong bonds with both Tsunade and your Mikoto - the poor dear was sorely lacking a maternal figure in her life," Hashirama explained, his expression sympathetic. "I must ask though, what exactly are you plotting in that devious mind of yours to test young Sakura's mettle?"

"Now Hashirama, you wouldn't dare give the girl any advanced warning, would you?" Madara replied, crossing his arms with a stern look.

"Oh, I assure you, Sakura is more than capable of fighting her own battles," Hashirama said with an amused smile. "But I will say this much - that young woman is head over heels in love with your Sasuke. Has been for years, though she was always too shy and intimidated to breathe a word of it until recently. Sakura is a wonderful girl - an absolute genius with a heart of gold. Any family would be beyond lucky to have her marry into their clan. That girl is destined for great things, mark my words."

Mikoto faced her son, hands on her hips, and expressed her concern. “Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been? I thought something awful had happened to my sweet boy.”

"I'm sorry, Mom. The traffic was a nightmare," Sasuke replied, his voice soft with contrition as he leaned in to plant a tender kiss on her cheek, hoping the simple gesture would soothe her frayed nerves. He could feel the tension slowly ebbing from her shoulders, but he knew it would take more than a kiss to fully allay her motherly concerns.

"Well, I suppose you're forgiven, especially since you finally came to your senses and asked my future daughter-in-law to be your girlfriend,” Mikoto smiled brightly.

"And whose fault is that? You should have snatched her up back in high school, when you had the chance," Mikoto chided gently before turning her warm gaze to Sakura. "But better late than never, I always say." She reached out and clasped Sakura's hand in her own, "I simply cannot wait for the day when I can officially welcome you into the family, my dear."

"Mother, please..." Sasuke's voice held a note of pleading, his eyes silently begging his mother not to embarrass him further.

"Now, now, Mikoto, let's not get ahead of ourselves. They need to date for at least a year before we start talking about wedding bells," Fugaku interjected.

"Oh, hush, anata. If I recall correctly, we were engaged a mere six months after we started courting," Mikoto reminded him, a playful gleam in her eye.

"Yes, well, that was because you were already carrying Itachi long before you walked down the aisle," a deep, rumbling voice cut in, causing all heads to turn.

"Father! When did you..." Mikoto's cheeks flushed a becoming shade of pink.

"Just now," he replied, his piercing gaze settling upon Sakura. Those ancient, fathomless eyes seemed to peer straight into the very core of her being, as if he could read her every thought and intention. The room fell silent, the air heavy with anticipation as they awaited his judgment.

After what felt like an eternity, Madara spoke, "I had originally intended to put you through your paces, girl. To test your mettle and determine if you were truly worthy of standing beside my grandson." He paused, his eyes never leaving Sakura's face. "But seeing the two of you together, the way you look at each other... I realize now that such trials are unnecessary."

He took a measured step forward, his presence intimidating and strangely reassuring. "There's a fire in you, Sakura. A strength of spirit that shines through like a beacon in the night. It's abundantly clear that you are no ordinary woman - it would take someone truly remarkable to capture Sasuke's heart so completely."

The corners of Madara's mouth lifted in the barest hint of a smile, a sight as rare as a blue moon. "In all the years I've known the boy, I've never seen him look at anyone the way he looks at you. That, in itself, tells me all I need to know."

Reaching out with a gnarled, battle-scarred hand, he placed it gently on Sakura's shoulder, the weight of his approval almost palpable. "You have my blessing, child. I do not doubt that you will make a fine addition to the Uchiha clan. All I ask is that you love him with all the fierce devotion of your heart and treat him with the care and respect he deserves."

Chapter 5: The Reveal

Notes:

Hi everyone, hope all is well. Also, I will be extending this story one more chapter, plus an epilogue.

Chapter Text

Tsunade strode into her grandfather's office, her brow furrowed with concern. "What's this all about, Grandfather?" she inquired.

Hashirama gazed out the expansive window, the moonlit sky casting a warm glow across his features. "I received an unexpected visit today from an old acquaintance. Madara Uchiha had some questions about your star pupil, Sakura," he replied, his voice calm yet tinged with the weight of the situation.

Tsunade's eyes narrowed. "And just what exactly did Madara want to know?" she pressed, already suspecting the answer.

"He was quite interested in the nature of Sakura's relationship with his great-grandson, and what implications that may hold," Hashirama explained, turning to face Tsunade directly.

"I trust you were honest with him, Grandfather," Tsunade said, crossing her arms defiantly.

"Of course. I shared the truth - that Sakura is an exceptional young woman any family would be fortunate to call their daughter-in-law. And that she and the young Uchiha heir have harbored deep feelings for one another for quite some time, though they've hesitated to act on that affection." Hashirama's eyes twinkled with a knowing glint.

Tsunade sighed, her shoulders slumping almost imperceptibly. "Yes, I'm well aware of my pupil's fondness for that brat," she admitted begrudgingly.

"Then surely you recognize the potential benefits their union could yield in strengthening the bonds between the Uchiha and Senju clans," Hashirama pointed out.

"Yes, yes, I understand the political advantages," Tsunade conceded with a dismissive wave of her hand.

"But your personal reservations linger," Hashirama observed, studying his granddaughter's conflicted expression.

Tsunade met his gaze, "As long as Sakura is truly happy, then I shall be happy for her as well. Her well-being is my priority."

Hashirama smiled, placing a comforting hand on Tsunade's shoulder. "I have a strong inkling those two will be exchanging vows shortly after completing their doctoral studies. Theirs is a love that has been a long time in the making."

Sai looked at Ino lying provocatively on his bed, her sundress discarded on the floor, revealing her luscious naked curves. "Why are you sleeping here tonight, gorgeous?" Sai asked curiously.

Ino smirked seductively. "I wanted to give Sakura some quality alone time with Sasuke. She texted me from the Emberleaf bathroom, gushing about how she almost fucked him right there in his car. His huge cock tastes divine and he gets her dripping wet."

"Huh, so they need privacy to have sex?" Sai mused. "I'm surprised Uchiha is even capable of satisfying a woman, especially with ugly."

Ino crawled over to where Sai was sitting at his desk, sketching. She draped her arms around his neck and nibbled his earlobe. "Oh, he's very capable, according to Sakura's vivid description of their steamy foreplay session. She couldn't stop raving about his impressive size and how horny he makes her."

"I've seen Uchiha's big dick in the showers after practice," Sai admitted.

"Why are you checking out other guys' packages?" Ino teased.

"For anatomical reference in my artwork. I struggle with drawing the human form accurately, especially male genitalia. It's tricky to sketch your own junk."

"Well then..." Ino purred, pulling away and posing naked in front of him. "How about some hands-on anatomy practice with my body? Or you could film us making love and study that to improve your erotic sketches."

Sai flashed a devilish grin as he positioned his phone camera. "Brilliant idea. Let's create some sexy art together, beautiful."

"Tonight went better than expected," Sakura said with a contented sigh as she walked beside Sasuke, their footsteps echoing softly in the quiet hallway leading to her dorm room. The evening air was cool against her skin, a welcome peace from the crowded dinner with Sasuke’s family they had just left behind.

Sasuke grunted in response; his brow furrowed. He couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was amiss with Madara's uncharacteristic decision not to test Sakura like he did with everyone else. Was that the reason behind Madara's conspicuous late arrival? The thoughts swirled in Sasuke's mind, distracting him from the present moment.

"Sasuke-kun..." Sakura's voice took on a playful lilt as she tugged gently on his sleeve, trying to draw his attention. When he continued to seem lost in thought, she pouted adorably, her full lips pursed. "Sasuke-kun, would you like to come in?" she asked, her emerald eyes sparkling with invitation.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Sasuke realized they had arrived at Sakura's dorm. He glanced at her, an amused smirk playing on his lips. "Are you sure it's safe in there? I'm not going to be subjected to the sight of Sai's pasty ass if I step inside, am I?" he teased, recalling the numerous times Sakura had inadvertently walked in on her roommate Ino and her boyfriend in compromising positions.

Sakura laughed. "Don't worry, Ino is staying at Sai's place tonight. She didn't want me interrupting their... activities... for the umpteenth time," she explained, fishing her key out of her small clutch purse.

"Thirteen times, wasn't it?" Sasuke quipped, his obsidian eyes glinting with mischief.

"It hasn't been that many!" Sakura protested, inserting the key into the lock and twisting it open.

"My mistake, twenty then," he retorted, his deep voice laced with amusement.

"You're ridiculous," Sakura huffed, rolling her eyes good-naturedly as she stepped into the darkened room.

"And you have an uncanny talent for walking in on your best friend fucking," Sasuke countered, following her inside and shutting the door with a soft click.

Sakura set her purse down on the desk and turned to face him, a coy smile gracing her features. "Well, maybe it's high time she got a taste of her own medicine," she suggested.

Sasuke's gaze intensified, his onyx eyes smoldering with barely restrained desire. "Maybe..." he agreed, his voice low and husky.

"Are we going to talk about what almost happened in your car earlier? After we confessed our feelings for each other?" Sakura asked, reaching back to fumble with the zipper of her figure-hugging red dress. "Before your brother's call so rudely interrupted us?"

Sasuke watched her struggle, his eyes darkening with want. "Need some help with that?" he offered, closing the distance between them. Sakura nodded, and he gently brushed her silky hair aside, his fingers grazing the smooth skin of her neck. Unable to resist, he leaned in and pressed a tender kiss just below her ear, eliciting a shiver from her.

"Sasuke-kun," Sakura breathed, a becoming blush staining her cheeks. "The zipper..."

"If I unzip this dress, I'm not sure I'll be able to control myself," Sasuke murmured against her skin, his hand resting on the zipper, slowly dragging it down, tooth by agonizing tooth.

"What if I don't want you to control yourself?" Sakura challenged.

With a low, rumbling growl that sent shivers down Sakura's spine, Sasuke finished unzipping her tight dress, his onyx eyes watching with hungry attention as she shimmied and wriggled her way out of the clingy fabric. Sakura turned to face him, a seductive smirk playing across her kiss-swollen lips, her emerald eyes glinting with mischief and desire. Sasuke's breath caught in his throat, his pulse pounding, as he drank in the sight of her standing completely bare before him, her creamy skin glowing in the dim light.

"Take it off," Sakura demanded, her husky voice dripping with need. She placed her hands on her curvy hips, striking a provocative pose that made Sasuke's mouth go dry.

"Take what off, Sakura?" he asked roughly.

"Everything," she purred, her eyes roving over his lean, muscular form, still far too covered up for her liking.

"Hn..." Sasuke grunted in acknowledgment, fingers rising to his tie and tugging it loose. He tossed the strip of silk to the floor carelessly as he shrugged out of his suit jacket, draping it over the back of Sakura's desk chair. Stalking towards her with predatory intent, he cupped her chin and claimed her lips in a searing kiss that left them both breathless.

"Sasuke-kun..." Sakura pulled back just enough to narrow her lust-filled jade eyes at him in a heated glare. "I'm naked, I'm horny as hell, and I need your hard cock inside me right fucking now."

"Such vulgar language coming from that pretty little mouth, Sakura-ka..." Sasuke tsked in mock disapproval, even as he trailed hot, open-mouthed kisses down the slender column of her throat, nipping and sucking at her sensitive skin.

"Then I guess you'll have to teach me a lesson and put my naughty mouth to better use... Uchiha," she purred seductively, threading her fingers through his silky raven locks and tugging sharply, urging him on.

"Mmm, if you behave like a good girl…" Sasuke smirked devilishly as he scooped her up in his strong arms and carried her over to the bed. He unceremoniously dropped her onto the mattress, scattering the papers that were strewn about. Sasuke hastily stripped away the rest of his clothing, revealing his toned body and impressive erection bobbing heavily between his legs.

He knelt on the bed, hovering over Sakura's petite form. Sasuke captured her lips in a searing kiss, his tongue delving into her mouth to taste her sweetness. His lips then trail down her neck to her heaving breasts. He took a pert nipple into his mouth, swirling his tongue around the bud until she was writhing beneath him. Sasuke continued downward, dipping his tongue into her navel before finally reaching his prize nestled between her milky thighs.

Sasuke buried his face in her glistening pink folds, inhaling her intoxicating musky scent. He used his fingers to spread her open before diving in, lapping at her dripping slit like a man starved. His lips wrapped around her swollen clit, sucking hard as he thrust two fingers knuckle-deep into her tight sheath.

"Oh fuck, Sasuke-kun…." Sakura gripped onto his hair for dear life as he began to fuck her mercilessly with his talented tongue and fingers, driving her closer to the edge with every firm stroke against her g-spot.

"Hn…you taste divine," he murmured against her skin, the vibrations sending electric shocks of pleasure through her body. Sasuke kissed and nipped his way back up her quivering body until he found her kiss-swollen lips once more. "Tell me what you want, Sakura-ka…I want to hear you beg," he demanded huskily.

"Please, Sasuke-kun, I need you inside me… stretching me, filling me up so deep," Sakura pleaded wantonly as she spread her legs wide in offering, opening herself completely to him.

He positioned the blunt head of his thick shaft at her slick entrance, poised to thrust home, but something on the floor caught his eye - the letter he had sent to Dear Cherry asking for advice.

Dear Cherry, How do you know if you are in love with your best friend? I think I'm falling for her but I'm terrified of ruining our friendship...

Sasuke leaned down and picked up the letter with a frown, glancing between it and Sakura's flushed face. "What is this doing here?"

"Umm…I can explain..." Sakura's eyes widened in panic, cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"Sakura…are you Dear Cherry?" he asked slowly, realization dawning on him.

Tears began to form in Sakura's emerald eyes and spill down her cheeks. Sasuke was the last person she ever wanted to discover her secret identity. She had considered telling him the truth at one point, but ultimately decided against it when she overheard him telling Naruto that the whole advice column was stupid and pointless.

"Sakura…" his voice softened, onyx eyes searching her face.

"Yes, I'm Cherry…" She confessed in a small, trembling voice. "I'm so sorry, I never meant for you to find out this way..."

"Hn…" He grunted, processing this revelation.

"Are you angry with me?" Sakura asked

"No…" He stared intensely at her and then back at the letter clutched in his hand. "But I am curious how you would answer this particular question, if you don't mind."

"Why are you so curious about that one?" Sakura pressed as she squirmed impatiently, hyper aware of Sasuke's rigid cock still pressing insistently at her entrance but not yet breaching her body. The anticipation was killing her.

"No particular reason." He averted his gaze, a light blush staining his high cheekbones.

Realization hit Sakura. "Oh my god...it was you! You're the one who wrote that letter, aren't you?" She asked breathlessly, a knowing smirk playing at the corners of her mouth when his blush deepened, and he refused to meet her eyes.

"Well, if I were replying to him, I would tell the writer that he shouldn't worry so much about potentially making things awkward or ruining the friendship. Because it's entirely possible that the girl he's been pining after since childhood feels the same way about him. It's important to seize the moment and take a chance before the opportunity for something truly amazing slips away forever," Sakura said softly, reaching up to caress Sasuke's face tenderly.

Sasuke dropped the letter and turned his gaze on Sakura, onyx eyes blazing with barely restrained desire and something deeper...something a lot like love. "Well, I guess he finally stopped being a coward and seized his moment then."

"He definitely did, but she seized her moment right along with him," Sakura smiled radiantly, happy tears shimmering in her eyes.

"Hn. No more talking," Sasuke growled impatiently. "You've been a very naughty girl, keeping secrets from me..."

"Mmm, and how do you intend to punish me for my deception?" Sakura asked coyly, hooking her legs around his hips.

"By fucking you senseless until you're screaming my name...and obeying my every command like an obedient little cherry blossom," Sasuke rasped, finally sinking his aching cock to the hilt in one powerful thrust, stretching and filling her so perfectly. He set a relentless pace, fucking her with deep, pounding strokes.

“Sasuke-kun…” Sakura moaned. “Don’t stop.”

“Hn…” he quickens his pace and intertwines his figures with Sakura.

"Oh god, Sasuke-kun, yes!" Sakura cried out in ecstasy as he drove into her harder and faster, their bodies moving together in perfect sync. She clung to his shoulders, nails digging into his flesh as the coil of pleasure wound tighter and tighter in her core with each deep, powerful thrust.

Sasuke groaned against her neck, his hot breath fanning across her sweat-slicked skin and making her shiver. He slipped a hand between their undulating bodies to rub tight circles over her clit, pushing Sakura closer to the edge.

"That's it, come for me," Sasuke commanded huskily, his voice rough with lust.

Unable to resist the sinful combination of his skillful fingers and thick shaft hitting her sweet spot just right, Sakura surrendered to the overwhelming pleasure, inner muscles clamping down on him as a mind-blowing orgasm crashed through her. "SASUKE-KUN!" she wailed, seeing stars behind her eyelids.

With a feral growl, Sasuke pistoned his hips frantically, chasing his release. He buried his face in the crook of her neck to muffle his loud groan as he exploded inside her, painting her quivering walls with his seed. They clung to each other as the aftershocks slowly subsided, pulses gradually returning to normal.

"I love you, Sasuke-kun. I always have," Sakura whispered, pressing a tender kiss to his jaw.

"I know. I love you too," he replied softly, capturing her lips in a deep, passionate kiss.

Naruto huffed in frustration; his brow furrowed as he glanced impatiently at the clock. Sasuke's uncharacteristic tardiness gnawed at him, distracting his thoughts even as Gaara's skilled mouth worked its magic below.

The redhead pulled back with a soft pop, jade eyes flicking up to meet Naruto's distracted gaze. "Shouldn't you be happy he's late?" Gaara questioned, a hint of annoyance creeping into his usually calm voice. "We rarely get any alone time together." He sat up, fixing Naruto with an annoyed look.

Naruto sighed, running a hand through his unruly blond locks. "I know, I know... It's just, Sasuke never stays out this late without saying something. It's weird."

Gaara's eyes narrowed. "Maybe he's off doing the same thing we're trying to do right now with Sakura. They had that dinner with his family tonight," he said tersely, crossing his arms over his bare chest. "Honestly, Naruto, sometimes I think you're more invested in Sasuke's relationship than ours. I'm right here in front of you, and you're still thinking about him!"

Gaara's words hung heavily in the air between them, the unspoken insecurities and jealousies threatening to boil over and shatter their intimate moment.

“I'm sorry babe…” Naruto looked at his boyfriend.  “Let me make it up to you.”

Sakura's eyes fluttered open as the warm morning sunlight streamed through the dorm room window, casting a golden glow across her naked body entwined with Sasuke's. The hazy memories of their passionate lovemaking the night before drifted through her mind, and for a moment, she wondered if it had simply been another one of her vivid erotic dreams. But the solid heat of Sasuke pressed against her back, his hard arousal nestled between her ass cheeks, assured her that their union had been blissfully real.

Rolling over to face him, Sakura drank in the breathtaking sight of Sasuke's handsome features - his chiseled jawline, the aristocratic slope of his nose, sensual lips that had explored every inch of her body. Scarcely able to believe that this gorgeous man had finally claimed her, filled her, and made her his, Sakura reached out to reverently trace his face with her fingertips.

"Sakura..." Sasuke murmured, obsidian eyes opening to meet her emerald gaze.

"You're awake," she whispered. "What time is it?"

"Past ten," he replied, voice still rough with sleep. "You were out cold."

A rosy blush stained Sakura's cheeks. A night of mind-blowing sex had thoroughly exhausted her. "You should have woken me..."

"You needed the rest. You've been overworking yourself," Sasuke said, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead.

A wicked smile curved Sakura's lips. "Well, I'm very well-rested now, Sasuke-kun," she purred, slender hand skimming down the defined ridges of his abs to wrap around his impressive erection. "Care to wear me out again?"

Rising, she positioned herself over his thick shaft, slowly sinking down with a drawn-out moan as he stretched and filled her. Bracing her hands on his chest, Sakura began to rock against him, undulating her hips in a sensual dance.

Sasuke watched her through hooded eyes dark with lust, captivated by this bold, uninhibited side of her. Large hands sliding up to cup the weight of her breasts, he rolled the pebbled nipples between his fingers, making her gasp.

"Mmm, Sasuke-kun, that feels amazing," Sakura panted, picking up the pace as she rode him.

"Hn," he grunted in response, bucking his hips up to meet her downward thrusts, driving himself impossibly deeper. They moved together in perfect sync, giving in to the simmering desire that had built between them for so long, lost to everything but the joining of their bodies and the pleasure sparking through their veins

He felt Sakura’s walls clench against him, and he once again filled her up with his seeds.  She collapses on top of him and remains attached to him as she presses her lips against his.

“As much as I would like this all day, I need to do some research for Lady Tsunade.” Sakura pushed herself off him and headed to the bathroom. “Would you like to join me for a shower?”

“Are you sure that is wise, Sakura-ka?”

“No, but I want you to shower with me.”

“You and I both know we are not going to get much showering done,” Sasuke smirked.

“Exactly!” Sakura winked and walked into the bathroom.

Sakura sat in the lab, nervously fidgeting as Tsunade strode in, arms crossed and a stern expression on her face. "You're late," Tsunade remarked.

"I'm so sorry, I was just..." Sakura began, but Tsunade cut her off.

"Save the excuses, Sakura. I know exactly who you were with," Tsunade said, her amber eyes boring into her prize student.

"We were only studying together, honest," Sakura offered weakly.

"Oh, I bet you were - studying each other's anatomy in great detail!" Tsunade retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Sakura's face flushed crimson. "How...how did you find out?" she stammered.

Tsunade sighed heavily. "Besides the fact that you're practically glowing, my grandfather informed me that Madara paid him a visit to discuss you and his great-grandson's new 'relationship.' I just hope you two lovebirds are at least using protection."

"About that..." Sakura looked down guiltily. "We may have gotten a bit carried away in the heat of the moment. But I'm on the pill, so it should be fine..."

"Sakura, you of all people should know that the pill isn't 100% effective," Tsunade chided gently. "Look, I'm not trying to lecture you. I've seen how you've pined after that Uchiha brat for ages, and I'm genuinely happy you two finally got together. I just want you to be safe and smart when you inevitably 'study' again, okay?"

"I'll try my best, Lady Tsunade, but I can't make any promises," Sakura said with a shy smile. "Sasuke is just so irresistible sometimes."

"So, you and Sakura finally sealed the deal, huh?" Naruto asked with a sly grin as he walked into their shared dorm room, eyeing his best friend, who was engrossed in a book on his bed.

Sasuke glanced up, his dark eyes narrowing. "I have no idea what you're talking about, idiot."

"Oh, come on, you didn't come back to the dorm last night. It doesn't take a genius to figure out where you were," Naruto persisted, plopping down on his bed across from Sasuke.

Sasuke sighed and snapped his book shut. "If you absolutely must know, I had a few too many drinks at dinner and my mother insisted I stay the night rather than risk driving Sakura back to campus intoxicated. That's all there is to it."

"Bullshit!" Naruto exclaimed. "You two totally got it on, I can practically smell the sex on you." His blue eyes sparkled mischievously.

"You can't smell a damn thing. Yamanaka texted you, didn't she?" Sasuke accused.

"Okay fine, Ino may have sent me a text," Naruto admitted. "Telling me how lucky Sakura was to experience the legendary Uchiha prowess. Seeing your huge dick in action was quite the spectacle."

"Well at least I'm not packing a micro penis like you," Sasuke retorted with a smirk.

"Hey! My dick is perfectly average sized. And Gaara has no complaints," Naruto defended.

"Hn, whatever."

"Anyway, quit trying to change the subject! You have to give me all the juicy details. You two finally confessed your feelings for each other and let all that pent-up sexual tension explode. How was it? Was it everything you've been fantasizing about?" Naruto pushed.

"The details of my sex life are none of your damn business, moron," Sasuke grunted.

"Of course it's my business! My two best friends in the world finally hooked up. I've only been waiting forever for this to happen. The hotshot baseball star and the sweet girl next door, together at last. I've even been writing to Dear Cherry for months asking for advice on how to get you two idiots together."

"I'm sure Sakura would be thrilled to know you've been meddling in her love life behind her back," Sasuke said dryly. "She already got punished by me when I found out she was Dear Cherry. But I forgave her, since her advice helped me make a move."

Naruto's jaw dropped. "Wait a second...I thought you said it was stupid to write to some anonymous advice columnist for help with your love life?"

"I never said that," Sasuke lied smoothly.

"Yes, you did, bastard! Just last week, you told me, and I quote, 'Why the hell would I spill my personal life to some advice columnist? No thanks, I'll handle this myself - remember?"

"Tch, I know what I said, loser." Sasuke shot Naruto an icy glare as he abruptly stood up from the bed. He couldn't think straight with this interrogation.

"Hey, where do you think you're going? I'm not done grilling you yet!" Naruto called after him.

"Well, I'm done listening to your idiocy," Sasuke snapped as he strode to the door and yanked it open. He slammed it forcefully behind him, leaving a pouting Naruto alone in their dorm room.
