Chapter 1: Black Dress With The Tights Underneath

Chapter Text

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Frank groaned, sitting up to the sound of his blaring alarm clock signaling another excruciating day. He slapped his hand down on the button to make it shut up and flopped back down. After a few deep breaths and failures at convincing himself he was hella sick and wouldn’t be able to work, he grumbled to himself about his annoyance and got up. The start of his routine was simple: wake up, actually get up, shower, get dressed, drink coffee, brush teeth, and leave for work.

Despite the simplicity, he usually skipped most of the steps.

Often, he’d end up showering later in the day than in the morning. Sure, he was a morning person, but did that mean he wanted to get up as the ass-crack of dawn and take a freezing cold shower since he can never wait for it to heat up? No, not at all.

Frank managed to chug down his coffee (he had to skip the shower since he wasted too much time sulking in bed), brush his teeth, and get dressed in his normal white button-up and tie. He was never one for a boring desk job, always hoping he could reach for something cool like a band or a music store, but he loved that he could wear thin, white button-ups that just barely showed the ink on his chest. Frank loved his tattoos with all his heart. Showing them off was just another perk of the look itself. White button-ups were always barely thick enough to be up to code but barely thin enough to show the black lines on his chest.

Once he finally got his hair the way he wanted it and slipped on his shoes, he headed out to work.

His mind always wandered as he drove. It was about a 30 minute drive to work, so Frank would always spend that time thinking about what he’d be doing that day. Recently, he heard they were getting a new secretary due to the old one being 200 and some years old and still on her feet. He was glad Janice (or whatever her name was) quit. She creeped him out, and if she didn’t leave, she might’ve died before she got the chance. Frank just hoped it wasn’t some weird, old lady again, even though it most likely will be. Cool people don’t work as secretaries. And besides, the world isn’t a rom-com. It’s not like some gorgeous chick will work the desk and always be barely out of Frank’s reach until she breaks up with her boyfriend. No, he didn’t just explain the plot to Jim and Pam’s relationship in The Office (he envies them so much).

When he finally arrived at work, he noticed the new car immediately. It was a black, sleek car that wasn’t expensive, but it screamed, “I’m beautiful” anyway. He also noticed the stickers on it as he walked past. There were all the general ones you’d find on someone's car like equal rights, no war, coexist, gay rights (which made Frank a little too excited), and such. The one that stuck out to him the most, however, was the very subtle sticker in the corner that said, “Don’t honk! I’ll cum!” He felt his jaw drop, and he laughed so hard it hurt. Okay, maybe this new secretary isn’t going to be so bad.

When he stepped into the office, he felt himself almost rush over to the secretary desk. Honestly, for once in his life, he felt excited to meet someone new. The first thing he noticed was the person's hair. It fell into their face almost gracefully despite how messy it seemed to be. His brain was very confused as to if he was looking at a woman or a man right now. Either way, they were looking beautiful.

He stepped up to the desk with a smile. “Hey, you’re the new secretary, right?”

The (his brain officially decided) woman looked up and smiled back as an immediate response. Jesus, her smile was adorable.

“Hey! Yup, I’m the new secretary. I’m Gerard. Nice to meet you…?”

Frank was officially stunned now. THAT’S A GUY? Holy shit this man is going to make him panic. It took Frank a good few seconds to notice that the gorgeous man, who he now knew as Gerard, asked him a question.

“OH! Sorry! I’m Frank.” Frank smiled lopsidedly, immediately tugging at his collar out of nervousness.

The angel that sat in front of him giggled (HE FUCKING GIGGLED .) and returned a funny, angled smile. “Nice to meet you, Frank. If you need anything, I’ll always be right here.”

“Yeah, I’ll stop by sometime.” Frank laughed nervously. This guy was getting him flustered, and it’s day one of meeting. This is going to be great. “See ya, Gerard.” Gerard gave him a small wave, and Frank scurried off to his cubicle.

Frank was fucked. The new secretary is hot as shit, and Frank totally crushed his first introduction due to being flustered purely from the man’s masculinity and femininity all at once. He’s never seen a guy look that good in a skirt. Sure, there are some drag queens who look good, but they never look like a man and a woman all at once. Honestly, he couldn’t understand why such a gorgeous guy was working at such a boring place. He could be a stripper or some shit. Frank would fucking pay to see that. Why was he thinking these kinds of things about the new secretary? It’s not like the dude looked like he fell from heaven (maybe). I mean, besides, they’ve just met. Don’t get your hopes up, Frank.

Frank could barely get his work done all day, earning glares from Brian every time he got distracted. It was all worth it when he got to spend lunch with Gerard, though. They spoke about what made Gerard end up working here, Frank’s experience working here, and other small things about themselves. Apparently, they shared a very similar music taste despite being born a few years apart. They had that perfect age gap where Frank grew up with CD’s and Gerard grew up with cassettes, the rise of CD’s beginning around the time Frank was born.

“You seriously listen to all the same bands as me, but you’re telling me you’ve never genuinely dressed punk in your whole life?” Frank laughed, leaning over the table slightly to look more surprised.

“I don’t know why! I never managed to get into the style, okay??” Gerard laughed back with an infectious energy. When his laughter died down, he spoke so softly Frank could have missed it. “I’ve always thought it was hot, honestly. The spikes, shaved hair, leather jackets, patches, pins, you know.”

Frank felt his brain melt at the thought of Gerard seeing how Frank dressed outside of work and thinking he was hot. His brain decided to crush that dream though, reminding Frank that Gerard could just be attracted to women like that. Of course, Gerard could read his mind or some shit. “I remember seeing guys in my neighborhood and totally swooning.” Gerard did that high pitched laugh that was in between a cackle and a giggle similarly to when they first met that morning. Gerard was totally growing on Frank.

The moment Frank began to speak, one of his coworkers, Ray, butted in.

“Oh! Hey, Frank!” Ray has worked with Frank since day one, their immediate connection forming over hatred for the boss Brian. “Gerard, right?” Ray, brandishing his normal “I don’t bite” smile that made people love him so much, turned to the secretary. Gerard nodded, smiling in a similar way back.

“Yup! What’s your name?” The two shook hands as Ray briefly introduced himself.

“I see you’ve already met Frank.” Ray grinned, elbowing Frank who responded in a grunt.

“Of course. He’s sweet.” Frank would have sworn that Gerard’s smile looked sincere for a moment.

“Frank? Being nice? Damn, Iero. You’re actually trying to make a good first impression?” Ray barked out a laugh, receiving a punch to the arm from Frank.

“Hey! I can be nice when I want to!” He then turned to Gerard, grinning slightly. “Ignore him, he’s high.” He poked his thumb in the direction of a currently dumbfounded Ray.

“I am NOT! If anyone’s high, it’s you, Mr. Suddenly Nice Guy!” Ray snapped back, still laughing. Frank was about to squeak out of vulgarities until Gerard butt in.

“Jesus! Children, children! Calm down!” He laughed, waving his hand slightly up and down at them as he spoke. Frank and Ray both glared at each other before continuing the conversation calmly (mostly).

Once he could leave, Frank practically ran to his car, not trusting himself to stop at the secretary desk and make a fool of himself. It seemed the universe had other plans. Frank could not get his car to start. He knew this thing was an old piece of junk, but seriously? The one day he needed to be as far away from this place as possible? Ray had already left, none of his coworkers even tolerated him enough to give him a ride, and Brian was at some meeting, having left around 5. That, perfectly enough, left Frank with one simple option: The new secretary, Gerard.

Gerard was still at his desk, tending to whatever a secretary does that causes him to stay after work. Frank walked up feeling like a fish out of water with the empty office building.

“Hey, uh, I can’t get my car to start. Would you mind, you know, giving me a ride?” Frank asked hesitantly. Before Gerard could respond, Frank—out of fear of being misinterpreted— quickly corrected himself. “Of course, you don’t have to leave now, and if the answer is no, that’s totally cool. We just met, so it’s weird that I’m—“

“Frank, calm down.” Gerard quickly interrupted, putting one of his hands near Frank on the edge of the desk to show everything was okay. He smiled softly and turned his attention to the clock before making eye contact with Frank once again. “I’m going to leave in probably about 30 minutes. Does that work?” Gerard seemed to genuinely care, so Frank nodded in response. “Perfect.” Gerard’s smile widened before he turned his attention back to his work. “All I have to do is finish some stuff up, and we can head out.”

“You have a lot of work for your first day.” Frank muttered, pulling up one of the nearby desk chairs to sit next to Gerard and watch him work.

“No, not really. I just had a lot of things to do other than work. Introductions, proper tours, explanations, more introductions, you get the idea.” He laughed.

Frank watched quietly as Gerard worked and immediately perked up when he realized the secretary began getting his stuff together. Gerard stood and smiled down at Frank. “Alright! Are you ready to go?” Frank quickly got up and retrieved his stuff he had previously discarded on one of the lobby couches.

“Yup.” He smiled back and followed closely behind as Gerard headed out of the building.

Chapter 2: I’d Do Anything Just To Hold You In My Arms

Chapter Text

“AUGH!” Frank shouted when was splashed by a massive puddle the moment his foot hit the concrete outside the doors.
“Watch it!” Gerard barked out a laugh. “It’s pouring outside.” He stated the obvious, slipping the jacket off his shoulders to leave his blazer resting on top of the button-up. “Here.” He muttered quietly as he held his massive coat above the two of them. Frank audibly sighed over the rain when he no longer felt water assaulting his skull. He looked over to meet the soft eyes of the secretary next to him.
“Thanks. Your hair still looks amazing even though it’s soaked.” Frank chuckled before realizing he let that slip out. “Shit. Sorry. That’s weird.” He quickly averted eye contact, barely missing the red that filled Gerard’s cheeks.
“Oh! Uh, thanks!” Gerard laughed nervously and then began to walk slowly. “Come on. My car’s just over here.”

Once Frank’s brain calmed down, he realized that they were in fact heading towards the black, shiny car with the funny sticker that made Frank practically collapse in the parking lot this morning.

Gerard handed Frank the large, leather coat for him to cover himself from the rain. Of course, Frank felt terrible because Gerard was now getting soaked in the pouring rain, but he jumped in the car before Frank could protest in any way. So, Frank grumbled his way into the car, quickly hopping into the passenger seat.
“Thanks for a ride. Sorry, this is one hell of a first day for you.” He laughed, placing Gerard’s dripping, leather coat in the back seat.
“Eh, it’s alright. No harm in a little excitement.” Gerard started up the car and backed out of his spot in the parking lot. When he pulled up to the exit, he turned to Frank. “Show me the way to your place.” He smiled softly and barely laughed at his own words.

On the way, they made general small talk. Frank couldn’t help but feel giddy at the thought of Gerard driving him home. Maybe he could come in. They could chat over a small dinner. Gerard would announce that he’s too tired to spend the night, and Frank would offer to let him stay the night. Gerard would gladly accept the offer and find Frank’s couch too uncomfortable to sleep on, causing him to sleep in Frank’s room. They would get all close and whisper things to each other they’d never say in public until—

“This it?” Gerard smiled at Frank, who was just snapped out of his dangerous trance.
“Oh, uh, yeah. Sorry, I zoned out.” Frank laughed nervously and made sure he had all of his things before quickly hopping out of the car. “Again, seriously, thank you for the ride. See you tomorrow at work?”
“No problem. See you tomorrow, Frank.” Gerard gave him that sweet, infectious smile again, making Frank unconsciously grin wildly before running up to his apartment.

When Frank got into his home, the first thing he did was make sure to watch Gerard’s car drive away just to make sure he didn’t imagine that entire car ride. What the actual fuck just happened? Frank went to work, met the hot new secretary, and out of pure coincidence his car didn’t want to start, so Gerard had to drive him home. And he acted like a total teenager the entire time! Jesus Christ, Frank! What’s wrong with you?? Okay, maybe, he just needs food. And to think things over more. And to apologize tomorrow because that was just embarrassing.

Frank set off to the kitchen to make some microwaveable meal, ignoring the fact that he almost dropped it multiple times due to his hands shaking. Gerard wasn’t even in a 2 mile radius of Frank, yet he was still nervous. He didn’t know how this would impact them as coworkers at the least. Would they be closer or farther apart? Frank has a notorious talent to scare people away with his up-in-their-face first introductions. This was definitely one of the top 5 unforgettable introductions, that’s for sure. If this doesn’t weird out the new secretary, Frank doesn’t think anything could.

After scarfing down his food and burning his tongue to oblivion, Frank brushed his teeth, made sure to set his alarm, got dressed up in some rainbow dash pajama set (he bought them as a joke, but they are extremely comfortable), and passed out the moment his head hit the pillow.

-

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

The same old blaring alarm clock attacked his eardrums, signaling his brain to get up and get ready. The only difference between this wake-up call compared to every other was how nervous he felt. Instead of slapping the mute button, he simply tapped it, sighing when the sound stopped. Frank didn’t know if he was ready to confront the man he embarrassed himself so much in front of. Skipping over his pouting in bed, Frank got up and made himself a cup of coffee in the kitchen.

For some reason he didn’t feel like getting ready about as fast as a turtle like he usually does on days he gets up too early. At about an average speed—or a little fast for him— Frank did his normal routine. Nothing was skipped over because he had enough time to do everything and even take a small break after. Shower, get dressed, brush teeth, make sure he looks good by messing with his hair for a solid 20 minutes, then walk to work. This day might actually go well.

When he got to work, he walked past Gerard’s car and couldn’t help but laugh to himself at the stickers again. He also got reminded of the night before. He still couldn’t believe that actually happened. Hopefully, Gerard wasn’t too freaked out by it.

Gerard greeted Frank with a warm smile the moment Frank stepped in the building. Frank smiled back and speed walked over to the secretary desk.
“Hey Gerard!” He beamed.
“Hey Frank. You figure out what’s up with your car yet?” Gerard stopped his typing to fully focus on Frank, which made Frank's legs weak.
“Nah, not yet.” He sighed. “I’ll let you know if I need a ride again today. I’m friends with someone who’s a total nerd, so I’m gonna see if he can check it out today.” One of Frank’s friends, Matt, knows a whole lot about cars and hopefully can help him. For now, he’s hoping it rains so he needs a ride again.
“That’s really helpful.” Gerard seemed genuinely happy. “I hope he figure’s that all out.” There was a beat of comfortable silence where they both just seemed to stare and smile at each other. Unfortunately, Gerard had to break it with a sigh. “Well, we should both probably get to work. See you after work, Frank. Let me know if you need a ride again.” He chuckled and turned back to his computer.
“Yup. See you after work, Gerard.” Frank beamed once again, heading off to his desk.

Frank spent the day similarly to yesterday. He zoned out thinking about Gerard and his car. Thankfully, Matt called him back and told him that he could get the car fixed in a few days. Then again, Frank wouldn’t be able to spend his time after work with Gerard, so he didn’t exactly know if that was a ‘thankfully.’ He tried to get his mind off of everything by doing busy work like making calls and typing up quick little reports, but none of his attempts to focus worked. His constant thinking of Gerard cleared up once they had lunch together, but Ray didn’t help with cutting into their conversations.

After work, it was pouring outside causing Frank to awkwardly creep up to Gerard’s desk and chuckle nervously. “Heyyy… So… Could I have a ride again?” Frank gave a silly smile, trying to look as calm as possible.
Gerard gave Frank a joking ‘seriously?’ look before shaking his head and sighing. “Yup. If you don’t mind waiting for a while.”
“No worries. I don’t mind.” Frank shuffled over to the chain next to Gerard’s desk and waited patiently for him to finish his work.

Once Gerard had finished his work, they both headed out. They repeated the process and used Gerard’s massive leather coat as a shield from the heavy rain.
Gerard had to practically yell over the rain to make conversation as it was much heavier today. “I really need to buy an umbrella.” He barked out a laugh. Frank laughed along as they walked over to Gerard’s car. Gerard got into the driver seat, and Frank got into the passenger. They chatted normally and Gerard occasionally asked for directions, but, for the most part, he remembered the way to Frank’s apartment. When they got there, however, that was the only break in schedule. Frank’s only thought in the moment was, ‘fuck it.’
“Hey… Gerard?” Frank spoke pretty quietly, but he knew he cou;d be heard.
“Yeah?” Gerard furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
Frank swallowed his rising anxiety and asked the question. How bad could this go?
“Do you wanna… come inside?” Frank twisted his thumb slightly, inpatient for an answer.
Gerard paused before smiling. “Sure! Just give me a minute to find a parking spot.”
Frank felt his whole body freeze for a second. Holy shit. He said yes.

Frank led Gerard up the stairs to his apartment. Frank couldn’t think of a time he had ever been this nervous. He was practically shaking. How was he going to open the door without collapsing? When they got to the door, Frank managed to shakily unlock the door and open it.
“Right this way.” He outstretched his arm to lead Gerard into his place. It was a small apartment, but not a bad one. One of the main things that stuck out about it was the array of different music related things scattered across the walls and rooms. In the corner of his living room, he kept a guitar stand with two guitars. In another corner, you could see a large CD player next to a record player with a short bookshelf full of strictly CD’s and records at the bottom. Frank stepped in and all he could do was sigh.
“Sorry, it’s not the cleanest, but it’s my apartment. Welcome.” He laughed.
Gerard looked around with stars in his eyes. “I love your guitars.” A grin stretched across his face as he then rushed over to Frank’s collection of music. “And you really do have amazing music taste.”
Frank walked over and chuckled when he noticed Gerard deeply inspecting each CD and vinyl with occasional comments about how cool they are or how much he loved the album. On albums he didn’t know, he asked Frank for basically a whole run down of the album, and they listened to any of them that Gerard said sounded interesting.

After the whole music frenzy, Frank turned to Gerard with a smile and asked, “Are you hungry? I don’t have anything special besides my company.”
Gerard laughed and grinned back. “I’d love food.”

Chapter Text

Frank and Gerard both sat at Frank’s coffee table in his living room each with a plate of simple Fettuccine Alfredo. They were both sitting on the floor and eating since Frank has never been fond of using his small dining table.

While they were both scarfing down some pasta, Frank spoke up.

“Do you want to watch a movie or something?” He shoved another fork-full of noodles in his mouth after speaking.

Gerard simply shrugged. “Sure. What do you have?”

Frank stood with a quiet ‘um…’ and headed over to his DVD’s. He listed each of them one by one, separating them into three piles according to Gerard. The first pile was maybes, the second was yes’s, and the third was no’s.

After a hot minute of them playfully arguing over specific movies, the two settled on Star Wars. Frank thought he was a fan until he saw how happy even the mention of Star Wars made the secretary. So, of course, Frank couldn’t say no to that face.

They sat on Frank’s couch under a thick blanket and started to watch the movie. Frank couldn’t keep his eyes off Gerard, though. This gorgeous guy becomes the new secretary at his work, he has to give multiple rides to Frank, and now he’s sitting on Frank’s couch, highly engrossed in a movie he claimed to have seen over 15 times. It felt unreal.

Every time something happened, Frank couldn’t help but turn to see how Gerard reacted. It was like seeing a little kid watch the same tv show over and over, yet they still get so excited over it. His eyes would sparkle when he would see a cool scene or Luke Skywalker would show up.

At some point, they both just started to talk. They talked about their lives, how it’s all led up to this point. Gerard spoke about how his whole childhood he wanted to be a comic book artist and even went to school for it, but it never ended up working out. Of course, Frank immediately got the best idea ever.

“You should draw me!” Frank jumped into Gerard’s face with a huge grin. When Gerard smiled at him, he felt his face burn up and quickly moved back.

“I can try.” Gerard laughed. “One second, I think I have a pen in my bag.” He hopped up and headed off to grab his bag.

He came back into the room spinning a pen in his hand. Frank had already set up a piece of paper and sat very proper on the couch with a massive smile on his face. Gerard sat on the floor and got right to work. He would take a good look at Frank, draw, get a good look, draw, and repeat. Frank was nervous that he would be a bad model for constantly zoning out at the adorable sight of the man drawing him.

Gerard sat leaned up against the coffee table with terrible posture and his tongue slightly sticking out of the corner of his mouth. If it wasn’t, he was barely biting his lower lip. His dark hair fell in his face, and he would have to constantly tuck it behind his ears due to it not wanting to stay. Despite the fancy outfit, he seemed very informal.

It wasn’t just adorable, it was unbearable. Frank couldn’t understand how this man seemed to be adorable but sexy. Adorably sexy? Is that even a thing? Apparently, since that was the perfect way to describe Gerard, it was a thing. Every time Frank looked at him, he either thought,  “Wow, he’s so cute” or “Holy shit, I need him in bed NOW.” with barely any in between.

Frank was snapped out of his thoughts with a paper being placed on his lap and a shy voice. “It’s not great, but it’s not terrible.” Gerard seemed nervous about Frank’s response. Of course, the drawing was beautiful. Small features of his were apparent, and all of Frank’s tattoos looked way cooler than ever. This one’s going on the fridge.

“Dude, this is awesome.” Frank said, the awe dripping from his voice. “I couldn’t even draw something that looks remotely like myself.” He laughed.

Gerard smiled, his cheeks now turning a visible red. “Thank you. It’s not that awesome, but thank you nonetheless.”

“You should draw me a tattoo.” Frank said unconsciously. When he looked up from the paper, he noticed Gerard in slight shock.

“Woah, uh, what would you want? I can try.” He chuckled nervously.

“Anything’s cool. Here, here, wait.” Frank waved his hand at Gerard and quickly rushed off to grab something. He came back with a variety of different sized permanent markers. “You can draw it on me!” Frank grinned.

Gerard hesitated before beginning a sketch on a piece of paper. Frank started up the movie once again and waited patiently. Soon, Gerard joined Frank on the couch and began to draw on his arm. It was extremely calming. So calming, Frank could just fall asleep right here.

Which is exactly what he did. He didn’t even know he fell asleep until he was being poked awake by an exuberant Gerard. “I finished.” He beamed. Frank sat up and yawned to get a good look at his arm. The drawing did not disappoint. It was a black rose surrounded by a ring of guns. Behind all that was the Japanese red sun. Frank was definitely getting this tattooed.

“I fuckin’ love it, dude.” Frank twisted and turned his arm to get every angle of the drawing that plastered his elbow. Frank directed his attention to the TV, realizing the movie had ended. Gerard followed his line of sight and perked up.

“Oh! You fell asleep, and I felt bad waking you up. I accidentally just let the movie run. Sorry.”

When Frank began to speak, Gerard’s phone on the table began to ring.

Something had occurred to Frank. Something he begged wasn’t true. What if Gerard had a boyfriend? What if the person calling him right now was his boyfriend waiting for him to come home? What if there’s another man on the other side of that phone that’s pleading for Gerard to come to bed so they could whisper unspeakable things to each other? Frank couldn’t help but feel a bit of jealousy boil up when Gerard answered the phone.

“Uh-huh? … Yeah, of course. … Yeah, yeah, I know I’m always busy. Hey, I’ll take a day off so we can spend some extra time together, cool?” Gerard chattered with whoever he was calling.

So, what Frank is assuming of course, Gerard is going to take a day off to spend some extra time with his alleged boyfriend and abandon Frank to the misery called work. Awesome! And just when he thought he might be able to score a dude like this.

“Sorry about that.” Gerard laughed, placing his phone down. “I have no idea why he’s calling me so late at night. He knows I’m busy.”

“It’s cool, no worries.” Frank smiled weakly. “About it being late, you should maybe head home.” His smile turned to more of a forced look.

Gerard, however, didn’t hold back his frown. “I guess you’re right. I’ve had a lot of fun, Frank. Thank you, seriously.” His smile lifted back up.

With Gerard’s infectious smile, Frank couldn’t help but genuinely smile. “You’re welcome. My door’s always open.”

They both sat in a comfortable silence with soft smiles on their faces. Frank could have sworn Gerard started leaning forward— No. Boyfriend. Right. He’s just jealous and over analyzing everything.

Frank mentally broke his mood, so he broke the silence too.

“Well, I’ll help you to your car.” Frank stood with a sigh. Gerard followed suit and grabbed his blazer and slipped on his wedges. Frank handed Gerard the blazer he had left on the edge of the couch and pulled open the front door for him.

“What a gentleman.” Gerard chuckled as he stepped through the door. “Thanks for tonight, Frank. I’ll see you at work tomorrow.”

“No problem. See you at work, Gerard.” Frank smiled back at Gerard’s warm smile and watched him walk off.

When he was at a safe distance, Frank basically slammed the door.

Why didn’t he think of the fact that a beautiful guy like Gerard would have a boyfriend? Of course, he hadn’t heard Gerard say he had a boyfriend, BUT he definitely does. I mean, who wouldn’t want to date that miracle of a guy? Frank got too distracted by the fact that he was in desperate love for this man to even THINK that he wasn’t single.

Frank didn’t even care to brush his teeth when he started to get ready for bed. He stomped off into his bedroom, basically stripped, then flopped onto the mattress.

Even though he convinced himself Gerard wasn’t single, he couldn’t get the secretary out of his head. Everything about him was perfect. His hips were perfectly carved, the button-ups and blazers accentuating his Greek statue of a figure. His shoulders were tough but soft up close. His chin and his jawline were wonderfully rounded, created to be kissed. His arms were strong and feminine and almost mesmerizing with how they flowed so perfectly.

And his legs. Holy shit, his legs. They were strong, similarly to his arms, however in less of a ‘you’d be able to squeeze me’ way and more of a ‘holy shit, I NEED you to CRUSH ME.’ way.

Frank couldn’t stop himself when he imagined himself squished in between Gerard’s thighs, looking up at the mess he had made the secretary into. He felt every drop of sweat that rolled down from the man’s bare legs and onto Frank. He imagined licking a stripe up Gerard’s gorgeous legs, getting increasingly closer to where Gerard needed him the most. Gerard was breathing so heavily that Frank could watch his chest rise and fall aggressively. He felt the vibration of his whine when Frank nibbled on the inner thigh that was pressed to his left cheek. Frank wrapped his hands around the outside of Gerard’s legs and pushed them closer together, almost suffocating Frank in a magical way. Frank huffed, his breath tickling Gerard’s skin, and licked his lips as he looked the secretary up and down. He saw the man’s hair sticking to his face with sweat and his jaw slightly agape. Frank’s brain melted into the moan that left those lips when he gripped Gerard’s legs even tighter. Fuck, he needed this. Now.

There’s nothing wrong with a little masturbating over a guy that works at his office, right?

Chapter Text

BEEP! BEEP! BEE—

Frank hit the mute button on his alarm clock so hard he swore he heard a crack sound. Whatever. It’s not like it matters. He couldn't seem to get over the fact that Gerard was very possibly not single, and it was pissing him off.

He showered, got dressed, brushed his teeth, and left for work. Honestly, he looked like shit. His tie was all messed up, there were extremely visible wrinkles all over his button-up, and he hadn’t bothered to do his hair. It’s not like there was someone he needed to impress.

When Frank officially got to work, his car having been dropped off at his house by his friend at some unholy hour that morning, he didn't know if he wanted to say hi to Gerard. It felt rude not to, but it was rude of Gerard to have a boyfriend. Frank isn’t being dumb and jealous. Gerard’s the one in the wrong. So, Frank walked in, and barely greeted the secretary.

“Hey, Frank!” Frank noticed Gerard do a double take at how much disarray Frank was in. “You sleep alright?” There was genuine concern written all over Gerard’s face, but Frank’s a terribly petty person.

“Yeah.” Frank mumbled, and he walked away without another word.

Frank immediately started to regret his decision to be an ass towards Gerard. Sitting at his desk and overthinking about how Gerard might be feeling won't do anything. He should just rip off the bandaid. Maybe Frank can ask what day Gerard’s taking off then very slowly shift the conversation to who he’s taking it off for. The moment Frank had officially decided he was going to abandon his desk to desperately mend his relationship with the secretary, a cup of coffee was placed softly on his desk.

Of course, when Frank looked up to see who it was, it was no other than the aforementioned secretary.

“You seem like you need some caffeine in your system. Let me know if you want anything special in it.” Gerard smiled softly as if Frank didn't just give him the cold shoulder.

His voice giving away how stunned he was, Frank almost stuttered out his words. “Oh! Um. Thank you. I don't need anything in it.” Frank panicked out. Gerard smiled genuinely once again and clicked off back to his desk in his heels.

Okay, so, Gerard is the nicest man on this planet. Frank has been an ass to him all morning, and Gerard just brought him a cup of coffee AND offered to add anything extra that Frank wanted. Frank never gets his coffee plain, but he couldn't bring himself to ask for anything else.

Frank felt honored, until the jealousy came back. Whoever Gerard was with was really lucky to have a guy like that.

Lunch was surprisingly not awkward. Ray rambled about how he used to dream of making a band as a kid and play every single Iron Maiden song known to mankind on his guitar. Gerard just had to give himself more cool points for being so happy at purely the mention of Iron Maiden. Not long after, both of them decided to pester Frank about his childhood, which he didn't give in. All he brought up was a dog he used to have that he loved and made them shut up when he wouldn't stop talking about how much he loved New Jersey.

At the end of the day, unfortunately, it wasn't raining. Even if it was, Frank can't exactly lie about his car with it clearly in the parking lot. On his way out, he stopped by the secretary's desk.

“Hey. Thanks for the coffee.” He sighed, still nervous due to how the morning had gone.

“It’s really nothing. You didn't seem in a good mood, so I got you some coffee. That always makes me feel better.” Gerard chuckled, not looking away from his computer screen. Frank decided to finally put his idea into play.

“So, are you actually going to be taking a day off?” He leaned on the counter and watched Gerard’s fingers tap away at the keyboard before halting. When Frank looked up, he met Gerard’s eyes.

“Yup. It’s probably going to be tomorrow actually.” He smiled slightly weakly.

“What are you going to be doing all day?” Frank put a hand on his chest to act offended when he spoke. “You know, since you’re abandoning me.”

Gerard cackled, slightly folding in on himself and scrunching his nose. It was adorable. “I know, I know! I’m sorry! My brother has been begging me to spend time with him, so I just decided to get it over with.” Gerard turned his attention back to the computer. Frank, however, was frozen.

“Brother?” He muttered. Unfortunately, it was barely loud enough for Gerard to hear.

“Yeah?” Gerard laughed softly once again. “Did I not mention I had one?”

“Well, no, but I just thought…” Frank’s sentence drifted off. It was dumb to finish his sentence, but when was Frank ever making good decisions?

“I just thought you had a boyfriend or something.” He muttered. Frank could feel the heat climbing up his neck.

He couldn't bring himself to make eye contact until it was far too quiet for too long. Frank met Gerard’s eyes. Oddly enough, he seemed surprised too. He only took a second before his face went back to normal and he smiled. Something about his smile looked mischievous, though. It’s that look someone gives you when they’re about to say something you’re not prepared for.

“Really? Why? Were you jealous?” Gerard laughed softly. He didn't break eye contact. He was waiting for an answer. Frank can't keep his big mouth shut.

“I mean, like, um. Kind of.” He scratched at his neck nervously.

Gerard, being much more smug than Frank would have ever expected, simply giggled and turned his attention back to his computer. “That's cute.” He let his words float in the air before speaking up once again. “Do you need a ride? I will warn you, I’m going to stay a while later because I’m taking tomorrow off.”

Frank shook off his nerves and sighed. “No, I should be good. My car’s back up and running.” He fidgeted with his hands. How is Gerard being so calm after what the hell just happened?

“That’s great.” Gerard smiled warmly and stood. “Here, let me see you out.” He walked around the desk and grabbed Frank’s items off the couch he had haphazardly tossed them onto.

Frank couldn't deny the offer, so he walked with Gerard to his car. It was a short walk, but it meant so much to him. They talked about hanging again some other time. Gerard specifically mentioned wanting to watch Dawn of the Dead with Frank, and Frank happily accepted the idea of spending time together. Right when they got to Frank’s car, Gerard handed him his things and smiled. “See you later, Frank.” When Frank replied with a goodbye and turned to get into his car, Gerard spoke up again. “Oh! Wait! By the way, do you have a boyfriend? I don't want to bother your partner with our constant date-like behavior.” He laughed.

“Nope.” Frank couldn't help but laugh. “I’m not that special, so don't worry about spending too much time with me. Anyway, see you later.” He chattered, almost nervous at the topic of a partner.

Gerard smiled and pressed a kiss on Frank’s cheek. “See ya, Frank!” He quickly rushed inside, waving as he almost ran back into the building.

What.

Frank felt his brain short circuit. Did Gerard just kiss him? Did the hot secretary that he has been head over heels for since day one just kiss his cheek? This can't be real.

Frank sat in his car and stared into the distance, still absolutely stunned. Was he awake? He pinched, slapped, and twisted his skin just to make sure. That was real. This is real. He took a few deep breaths before driving home and plopping himself down on the couch.

Fuck, he can't do this. He doesn't even have Gerard’s number. Frank has been staring into space and overthinking everything for a while now. It wasn't until about an hour that he realized he knew where Gerard was. It was worth a shot. If he wasn't there then Frank would just have to wait a whole day to see him. No biggie. Frank’s brain said, “Fuck it” and he quickly got dressed and rushed to his car. He wasn't going to let this eat at his brain for a whole day . He was going to confront Gerard, and they will figure things out (make out).

When he got back to the office, Frank felt insanely relieved to see Gerard’s car still in the parking lot. He wasn't kidding when he said he was going to stay late. So, Frank practically rushed in and froze in the middle of the front office with the secretary desk in view. Gerard’s head snapped up and a smile immediately filled his face.

“Hey, Frank! What are you doing back here? Is everything okay?” Gerard stood, motioning for Frank to fully walk up to the desk.

Instead, Frank ran. He swiftly went around the desk and stopped right in front of the secretary. Frank huffed as he stayed still. He spoke almost hushed.

“Why’d you kiss me in the parking lot?”

Gerard smiled. “Because I wanted to. I thought it was cute how flustered you were over being jealous, and it really just got worse from there.” He giggled.

Frank wanted to say more, but he couldn't find the right words. He simply moved ever so slightly closer and spoke even softer.

“Can I kiss you?” Frank whispered.

Gerard didn't even bother to respond. In one swift movement, he brought his hands up to cup Frank’s face and pulled him into a kiss. They both stood there for a moment just melting against each other's lips. It felt magical. Soon, Gerard barely pulled away just so he could speak.

“You should really head home.” He smiled and laughed when Frank gave him a look. “I’ll see you in a day or so, okay?”

Frank muttered out a quick okay and brought Gerard into another kiss. Frank was the first to pull away this time. “Could I have your number?” He asked. Gerard’s eyes practically sparkled as turned to the array of stationary on his desk. He grabbed a Post-It note and scribbled down his number. To confirm the number, Frank typed it in and texted a simple “hi!”

They shared a few more kisses and quiet conversations about work before Frank told Gerard to text him sometime and skipped off back to his car to head home. Despite how happy he was, he was out like a light the moment his head hit the pillow. He couldn't remember the last time he was this happy.

He has a boyfriend !
