Chapter Text

Alec stands in front of the Hunter's Moon reading a sign that says, "Closed for a private party." Alec can hear the music playing and people talking and laughing. Alec just stands he knows he is not wanted. The man he loves, his sister and brother have turned their backs on him thinking he betrayed them and the Downworld. Alec hears the cheers for Clary deemed as the savior of the shadow world. Clary killed her own father from using the Soul Sword and stopping him from fulfilling his devasting wish. But Alec knew the truth about the how Valentine was able to get his hands on the sword. Alec also knew Valentin can't be easily defeated in that way. Alec clinched his fists tight thinking back to the moment his father made the decision to destroy everything that he held dear.

"You will not tell that filth Magnus Bane or to anyone, that the Clave gave Valentine the soul sword for the purpose of wiping out those disguising creatures! If you do, I will make sure that your precious Magnus will be arrested for treason" Robert yelled.

"Dad, why are you doing this to me?" Alec pleaded. Robert's smile was sinister, before he spoke, "Because, once your precious Magnus discoveries he has been betrayed, he will end this farce of a relationship and when that happens you will marry Lydia as planned. I will not have a faggot as a son!" Robert growled.

Alec still standing in the front of Hunter's Moon, Alec held back his tears. Alec never had the time to come up with a way to inform Magnus and his family what the Clave had done. His own father set him up from the start and now he lost the great love of his life and family all because they believed he chose the Clave over them. With a deep breath, Alec opened to door and went inside. The music was loud, and the drinks were flowing. All of the races of the Downworld were together celebrating as one. Alec didn't care about any of that, his main focus was to talk to Magnus and let him know the truth about the soul sword. Before he could begin his search, the music stopped abruptly, and he felt all eyes were on him.

"You are not wanted here Alec" Jace growled walking towards Alec with Izzy, Clary and Simon on his tail. Alec felt the rage and betrayal from his parabatai, but Jace closed off their bond when he came face to face. Alec saw the disappointment in the eyes of his family which shatter his heart. He so desperately wanted them to know the truth, that this was all Robert and the Clave's doing. Without proof, it was just an empty accusation. Alec was pushed out his thoughts when he felt a shove from his brother.

"What are you doing here Alec! no one wants you here!" Jace yelled. Izzy folded her arms glaring at her brother. "Jace is right no one wants you here after what you did. Why don't you go back and be the Clave's bitch and let us have our moment!" Izzy yelled. Izzy saw the dejected look in her brother's eyes, but she didn't care if it hurt his feeling, because she felt that her brother deserved whatever was coming out him. Izzy and Jace smirked and decided to add another insult to their brother. "After what you did to Magnus, we are glad that he ended things with you. You don't deserve to be LOVED by anyone especially Magnus!" Jace yelled. 

Alec's whole demeanor shattered. Alec looked around the room and just everyone nodded in agreement. Alec fought back the tears that was threating to fall. He looked at his siblings. "I'm sorry, but it's not what you think." Alec all but whispered. Before Jace and Izzy could say anything, Magnus and Dot walked up to see what all the commotion was about. Magnus was shocked to see Alec stand before him. Magnus gave a quick glance at Izzy and Jace. "What is going on? Why is this Shadowhunter doing here?" Magnus asked not looking at Alec. Alec heart continue to be shattered when Magnus didn't even acknowledge him by name.

"Nothing, Magnus. We were about to ask this traitor to leave, because he is ruining the celebration" Clary chimed in. Alec turned to Magnus with pleading eyes. "Magnus, I didn't mean to ruin everyone's good time. I just wanted to talk to you, because there is something that you need to know and its important" Alec said looking at Magnus defeated. Magnus really looked at Alec and notice that his appearance drastically changed. Alec lost some weight and the dark circles under his eyes show he has not been sleeping. Magnus snapped his fingers, and the music started to play. "There is nothing to see here, everyone, please go back and enjoy the party. I will handle him." Magnus turned and looked at his ex-boyfriend. Dot watched the loving stare between Alec and Magnus. Dot looked at Magnus "Magnus would understand" she thought. Magnus with his drink in hand, walked up to Alec. "Shadowhunter, whatever you want to say, it can wait" Magnus said emotionless. Alec choked in a sob. "Magnus, this can't wait. Can we talk privately?" Alec asked. "Once you hear what I have to say and you still don't want nothing to do with me, I will respect your decision" Alec's voice quiver. 

Magnus saw the seniority in Alec's eyes. "Okay, we can talk. How about we go out back where there is less noise" Magnus nodded towards the back exit. Alec nodded in agreement. Before Alec could speak, Dot interrupted them, "Magnus, I think Rapheal wants to talk to you" Dot said, wrapping her arm around Magnus's arm. Alec looked down and for a split second he saw a pink sparkle come from Dot's fingers. Alec looked again and it was gone. Magnus smiled and looked at Dot. "Okay my dear" Magnus looked at Alec. " I just meet you out in the back" Alec said. Magnus nodded and walked away with Dot. Magnus didn't notice that Dot was placing a hidden Encanto spell on him and the rest of the guest. She leaned over and whispered. "Alec was never here, lets enjoy ourselves tonight" Alec looked at Magnus and Dot and saw the pink tendrils of magic around Magnus. Alec didn't think nothing of it. In the corner Sebastian and Raj, Ryan was standing with some werewolves and vampires staring at Alec with disgust. They watched Alec walked to the back exit. With a sinister smile and his eyes flashing black Sebastian leaned over and spoke, "I think we should teach the Head of the New York Institute a lesson for his betrayal. I think it's high time Alec steps down as the head of our establishment" Sebastian said.

The gang had a menacing smile. "What do you have in mind Sebastian" Ryan asked. Sebastian smiled, "Come closer and I will tell you" The gang disperse and walked out. Dot looked a Sebastain who walked over. "Thank you for this opportunity, Dorthea" Sebastian whispered in her ear. A shivered went down her spine as she saw a glimpse of evil in Sebastian's eyes for a spilt second. Before she could respond. She watched Sebastian walked away. "Why don't we take this party back to my place" Magnus said.  Dot saw Izzy looked around for Alec. Before Izzy could mention her brother's name, Dot quickly waved her hand at the direction of Jace, Izzy, Simon and Clary. Light pink fairy dust enters their noses, they shook their heads. In unison they said "Let's party at Magnus's loft" Magnus scratched his head thinking there was something important he needed to do, but he couldn't put his finger on it. Magnus turned and was about to walk towards the back exit, when Dot stopped him. "Hey, how about we just walk, your place is not that far anyway." Dot suggested. Magnus smiled. "Let's go and make this night to remember" Magnus said. While the gang was heading out to have their fun filled night of fun, Alec was waiting outside in the back for Magnus. Alec looked at his watched. "Why hasn't Magnus come out yet" Alec spoke softly while staring at his watch. Alec needed to tell Magnus the truth and maybe they could come up with a way they could get concrete proof of the Clave's deceit. Alec suddenly felt a coldness surrounding him, before he could react, he felt a blunt object hit him on the back of his head.  The force was so strong, he fell to his knees. Alec touched the back of his head and felt a sticky substance. He pulled his hand forward and say blood. Alec's vision began to blur when he heard footsteps coming his way. Before Alec blacked out, he heard a cold voice say, "No one is going to help you now Lightwood!"

Inside Hunter's Moon the crowd was slowing leaving to party elsewhere. Clary finally felt like she accepted in the shadow world after killing her father. Izzy, Jace, Simon and Magnus smiled knowing the pain she endured being the daughter of Valentin Morgenstern. "Magnus, I heard your parties are legendary" Izzy said with excitement. "Well, yes my dear Isabella, I tend to throw on hell of a party" Magnus said waving his hand around. Dot smiled, "Let's just say his parties tend to get a bit sexual at times." Magnus fixed his shirt and puffed out his chest with pride. Dot stared at Magnus thinking finally she can have him all to herself. "We are down for anything, let's go!" Izzy said. Everyone cheered and started to grab their things and leave to have a fun-filled night at Magnus's loft.

Meanwhile in the back ally of Hunter's Moon........

Alec felt the raindrops hits his face; at the same time, he felt his body being dragged further into the alley way. Alec was thrown on the ground hard. Alec felt someone grab a hand full of hair and pulled his hair back roughly. Sebastian leaned close to his ear and bit his earlobe hard causing it to bleed. "No one is going to help you now Lightwood" Sebastian and his cronies laughed. Alec used whatever strength he had and headbutted Sebastian breaking his nose. Sebastian fell and groaned in pain. Raj, Ryan, two Alpha werewolves from Luke's pack name Sam and Jared glared at Alec. "You are going to pay for that traitor! Get him!" growled Sebastian. The rain started to pour harder as Alec was doing his best to defend himself despite with the head injury. One of the Alpha wolves tore off his leather jacket in the process using his Alpha strength, he not only dislocated Alec's shoulder; with a stomp he broke his arm. Alec screamed in pain. Sebastian walked over and kicked Alec with such force, Alec could feel two, maybe three of his ribs being broken. "You are going to pay for that" Sebastian growled. 

Alec tried to crawl away trying to reach the edge of the alley for help. The sinister group was stalking dangerously behind him. "You know since you like to open your legs to Magnus, Magnus would not care if we had a piece" Sebastian smirked. The others smiled hungrily. Sam said and turned around to show his back was wet. Magnus just looked at the Alpha, he felt like his instinct was telling him something was not right. Before he could ask, Izzy chimed in. "Hey, if you are not doing anything, you are welcome to come with us to Magnus's place for another epic celebration" Izzy suggested. Sam smirked and tried not to look back at what was going on behind him. "Maybe later, I have some other plans right now if that's alright with you" Sam said. Dot was standing next to Magnus who had an expression on his face that she could not understand. Magnus kept looking at the alley, he felt something familiar was calling out to him. Magnus was about to walk into the alley to investigate when Sam stopped him abruptly. "Mr. Bane, don't you think you guys should get going before the rain gets worst" Sam didn't want Magnus to discover what was happening. "Yeah, let's go everyone" Magnus was still distracted he waived his hand to form a portal. "PARTY AT MAGNUS!" Izzy and Clary held hands and yelled while walking into the portal. Jace was still rubbing his rune watching Sam walked back into the alley. "Come on Jace the girls are waiting" Simon pulled Jace towards the portal. Magnus continue to stare into the alley feeling heartbroken. Magnus heard some sinister laughing and a person in pain, he was about to walk to investigate when Dot grabbed his hand. "Magnus there is nothing back there" Dot whispered as she injected some more of her power into him. Dot leaned closer and said, "Let's celebrate like we did during the time of the Romans" Dot smiled and wink. Magnus smiled and nodded. Magnus walked and disappeared into the portal. Dot looked back into the alley and thought to herself "Alec will be just fine" and disappeared into the portal.

Alec was laying on his stomach watching the glow of Magnus's portal disappeared. Jared with Alpha red eyes was growling and thrusting hard into Alec. "This is far from over" Sebastian whispered as they disappeared into the darkness.

The figure stepped in front of the dome and knelt down. White wings spread and flapped gently. The figure gently pulled a feather from his wing and laid it on the ground. The feather glowed a soft blueish grey orb, the figure smiled as the orb turned into a small white wolf cub. "Watch over him while I get help" the figure command. The small wolf cub nodded and entered in the silver dome that was protecting Alec. The small cub sniffed Alec and whimpered that his new master was hurt. The cub curled next to Alec's neck to watch over him. "Don't worry brother, you are safe now" the figure stood up and with a strong force flew into the night sky.

Cat was working in the ER checking on patients, she checked her watch looking at the time. Cat was worried about her friend Magnus. She knew with reason; Magnus will realize that Alec was nothing like Camille or any of his exes. Cat's gut was telling her there was more behind why Alec was reluctant to tell him about the Soul sword. Cat was brought out of her thoughts when she heard a man call her by a title that she has not heard in over 200 years, "The Healer of all Creation" When Cat turned around, she gasped covering her mouth. "Archangel Michael" Cat whispered. Cat was about to bow in respect when Michael stopped her and smiled. "There is no time Alec needs your help" Michael said. Cat was confused, but when she saw the seriousness and vengeance in his eyes, she knew something bad happened. "My shift is over, take me to him" Cat did not hesitate, the moment she met Alec she knew he was something precious that needed he to be protected at all costs. 

Michael and Cat walked out of the hospital into an alley, from there Michael created a silver portal and took Cat's hand and walked into the portal. When they entered from the other side of the portal Cat was about to ask where Alec's was when she heard a soft painful whimper. Cat turn to see what was inside the silver doomed. "ALEC!" Cat screamed running over to him. She lightly touched the dome which accepted her to entered. She knelt down and touch Alec's head and felt blood. She slowed moved the hair from his face and gasped tears filling up and falling. "OMG! What have they done to you" Cat began to sob when she felt Michael's hand on her Shoulder. "We need to get him to safety, before the demon from Edom comes back for him" Michael whispered. Cat gently cradled Alec in her arms and looked up at Michael, "What demon from Edom? You know what hold that thought. Let's get Alec out of here first" Cat command. 

Michael waved his hand to make the dome disappear as Cat conjured up a portal to her home. Michael picked Alec up who groaned in pain. Cat touched Alec's forehead and casted a sleeping spell before going into the portal. The wolf club followed Michael and Cat into the portal. Cat entered her apartment, "Take him to the guest room" Cat said. Michael carried Alec laid him gently down on the bed. The wolf cub tried to jump on the bed to be next to Alec. Michael smiled and picked up the cub and sat him on the bed. Cat walked into the room and saw the cub watching over Alec. When Cat came close the cub growled. Cat smiled, "I want to help him, he is very special to me, can you let me do that?" Cat asked the cub. The white wolf cub looked at her with his blue grey eyes and then at Michael. The cub pushed his nose in her hand agreeing to let her help his Alec. Cat smiled "Thank you little one" Cat conjured her magic and began to make her assessment on Alec. As Cat was checking his body, tears started streaming down her face and then her face turned into anger. "Pink fairy dust" Alec whispered. 

Cat turned and looked at Michael. "I know" understanding what Cat was feeling. "Angel Raziel said Alec will need to be reborn" Michael said giving her list of ingredients. Cat was looking at the list and she know where to go to get them. "Call Max instead of Jace and Izzy." Michael said. Cat was shocked. "Let's just say Raziel is disappointed in those two right now. Cat nodded in his understanding. "Please stay with him." Cat still in her bloody scrubs disappeared thru the portal. Cat stood out in front of Magnus door. She could hear the loud music pumping thru the walls, but what made her angry was the loud moaning going inside. Cat closed her eyes her and blew thru her nose as her healing magic went from green to a deep purple, she waived her hand in front of Magnus's door and slammed the door wide open.

Cat stormed in to witness Magnus, Dot, Simon, Jace, Izzy and Clary having one big orgy. They all stopped and jumped when they saw a very pissed off Cat covered in blood. Cat glared at all of them. "OH, don't stop on my account" Cat growled. Magnus moved Dot from his lap and snapped his fingers to put some lounge pants on and gave everyone a sheet to wrapped themselves up with. Magnus saw his best friend covered in blood. He walked over to her to see if she was alright. He stopped when he saw that her fists were incase in purple magic. "Cata..." Cat interrupted Magnus and put her hand up. "Don't!! you all continue fucking each other, I mean you wasn't even thinking about Alec Magnus. So don't worry because I won't be here long anyway."  Cat said. Magnus went pale at the mention of his ex-boyfriend's name. Cat was about to walk away, but she stopped and looked at Magnus for a second. She thought back to what Alec whispered. Cat just stared at Dot. "Cat what happened to you?" Magnus was starting to be concern. Cat looked down at her uniform that was covered in Alec's blood. Cat laughed, which shocked everyone. Cat looked around the room, "Why do you even care, I mean you all were fucking like rabbits while" Cat stopped herself from telling them what happened to Alec. "All I am going to say I have a Shadow Hunter who is fighting for his life right now" Cat looked back at Dot who looked the other way. "What Shadow Hunter?" Jace and Izzy both asked at the same time. 

Cat smirked and pointed to everyone especially to Magnus "Right now you all don't deserve to know, now if you excuse me" Before anyone can protest, Cat stomped her feet to the ground that caused a shockwave that forced everyone to sit. Cat grabbed her cellphone to make a call staring between Magnus and Dot who decided to stand next to Magnus. "Hey Max" Cat said it loud enough for everyone to hear. Magnus stared at Cat who looked very disappointed and walked towards his apothecary. Dot tried to touch Magnus's arm and tried to get his attention. "I need to talk to Cat" Magnus followed Cat into the apothecary. Dot looked at Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon who felt ashamed.

Cat was pulling the ingredients from the list that Michael gave her that could help Alec. Magnus walked in watching her mixing the ingredients into his cauldron. "Cat, can you please talk to me?" Magnus pleaded. Cat closed her eyes, "There is nothing to say, you should continue to have your fuck feast with Dot and with those Shadow Hunters" Cat didn't notice Magnus staggered when a flash of a memory of him saying Shadow Hunter to Alec. "Is this about me breaking up with Alec? Magnus asked. Cat slammed the paper she was hold down the desk as everyone entered the room. Cat laughed again in annoyance. "Why do you want to know uh? because Dot's opinion is more important than mine apparently" Cat yelled. Everyone jumped at the accusation. They watched Cat mixed the ingredients effortless without skipping a beat when she saw Max calling her back. "Hello, okay I will be there shortly. Just continue to monitor his breathing and let me know if his breathing changings" Cat instructed. "We can go and help Max if you want?" Clary asked. "Don't bother we have this handle" Cat demanded. Cat walked over to Magnus with determination.

Dot was nervous, she had a feeling that Cat might have already figured out what she has done. Before she could say anything, Cat spoke; "Magnus, you said I am one of your most trusted friends, right?" Magnus nodded his yes. "Don't ask me why, but I need a drop of your blood now" Cat simply demand. Cat did not have time to waste, she needed to make this potion for Alec's partial rebirth. Cat walked back over to the table and stood over the cauldron with a small dagger. Magnus was about to walk over when Dot stopped him. "Magnus this is not a good idea, maybe" next thing Dot knew her mouth disappear. Everyone's eyes went wide looking at Dot who was mumbling, they all looked at Cat who was smirked unfazed. "Magnus a man's life depended on this, are you going to give me a drop of your blood or not?" Magnus walked over and gave his hand to Cat who made a tiny prick on his finger. The drop of his blood floated into the cauldron. Cat stood back and ripped her shirt and just stared at the blood stained. Everyone saw Cat trying to hold back her tears. Without looking she waived her hand at Dot where she gasped for air while pulling a droplet of Alec's blood from the shirt. The droplet of Magnus's and Alec's blood mingle together and glowed as it mixed with the other ingredients. Cat then grabbed to medium size glass bottles and poured the mixture the shimmer white mixture into the bottles. 

Izzy grabbed Cat's arm to stop her from leaving. Cat looked at Izzy's hand and then looked at her. "If I was you, I would remove that hand" Cat demanded. Izzy step back and felt ashamed. "You said that a Shadow Hunter was hurt, and you have Max monitoring his breathing. If he needs helps let us take him back to the Institute's infirmary" Izzy pleaded. Cat smiled and then became serious, "The Shadow Hunter that I am helping was very adamant to stay where he is for now since there is a threat inside the Institute" Cat thought she was telling a little white lie, but in actuality, it's safe to think if Alec was awake, he would say the same thing. "What threat?" Jace asked.  Cat walked out of Magnus's apothecary walking towards the door. "Oh, I almost forgot." Cat turned to walked over to Dot. Cat leaned closer and whispered in her ear "I hope you are ready for the fallout of your actions, because once Magnus finds out not only what you did to him, but the result of your actions, you just might see a side of the Prince of Hell that you have not seen before" Cat's statement sent shivers down her spine. Cat smiled and patted Dot on the shoulder, "Good luck with that" Cat turned to Magnus "Thank you for the blood, and oh by the way, you might want to check your blood out. I mean there was abnormality during the bonding of my patient's blood' Cat hinted. Dot's face went pale, and Cat smiled at Dot's discomfort. Cat formed a portal and turned and look everyone. "Before, I leave you might want to know that Jonathan Morgenstern is very much alive" Cat waved and disappeared into the portal. Izzy and Jace tried to run into the portal, but a strong force threw them back as the portal closed.

Chapter Text

Izzy and Jace were stunned that they could not follow Cat into the portal. An unknown force prevented them from entering into the portal that led to Cat's apartment. The room was silent, Magnus walked over to his bar to make a very strong martini. Dot watched Magnus make his drink and went over to sit in his chair and crossed his legs. Dot wanted to be selfish and get everyone back into the mood, but she decided against it fearing it would draw suspicion towards her. Izzy and Jace sat on the other couch with a look of concern. "Magnus do you think you can make a portal so we could go Cat's house and find out who the mystery Shadow Hunter that was injured?" Clary asked sitting next to Jace.

"I don't think that would be a good idea right now" Magnus said while nursing his drink. "I don't mean no harm, but Cat is helping one of own and whoever this injured shadow hunter is should know that he could heal himself using a rune" Jace said. Magnus briefly glared at him. "If you want to barge into Cat's home be my guest but let me remind you, I know Catarina best, and I can tell you right now she is one warlock you don't want to piss off more than she already is." Magnus said.  Jace, Clary and Izzy went pale. "Whoever the shadow hunter is, Cat seemed to be very upset about it' Simon chimed in. Magnus was deep in thought thinking back to what just happened. He felt his heart breaking replaying the disappointment and devastation look in his best friend's eyes. Magnus couldn't help but think that a very important puzzle piece was missing from this evening festivities. Magnus was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Jace speak. "Why hasn't Alec answer his damn phone" Jace growled looking at his cellphone. "He should have reached out to us to let us know someone was hurt right?" Jace asked.

Magnus felt his stomach twist into knots hearing his ex-boyfriend's name. Before Magnus could say anything, Clary chimed in, "Maybe we should go straight to him and ask him in-person" Clary said. Izzy looked at Jace and Simon and nodded in agreement. "I think Clary is right, maybe we should go back to the institute and find out what's going one" Izzy suggested as she was getting her shoes on. Magnus waved his martini glass away and stood up. Dot watched Magnus's movement she wonders what Magnus was thinking about. Magnus elegantly moved his hands and formed a portal to the institute for the shadow hunters. "I think it's best to see what's going on, we have to make sure there is no Circle members lingering around trying to exact revenge for their former leader. Once you know we can go to Catarina's together and try to smooth everything over" Magnus suggested.

"You think Cat is that angry with all of us?" Dot asked. Magnus turned and looked at Dot for a moment remembering what Cat said about his blood. "Whatever happened tonight, has set Catarina off in a way, that even a greater demon would be too scared to face" Magnus said. In his heart Magnus felt like he betrayed his best friend in some way. Magnus knew Catarina hated when he sabotages himself whenever he gets hurt. "Hey Magnus, if we find out anything we will let you know okay" Izzy said rubbing his arm. "Besides, with everything that loser or that so-called fearless leader of ours has done to you and us, you deserve to let loose Magnus." Clary said folding her arms. "Clary is right Magnus, you have nothing to be ashamed of. We had an unforgettable night" Jace said. Magnus had his doubts, because he truly felt that something was off, and he just couldn't pinpoint the nagging missing piece. "You should get going, I will see if I can talk to Catarina and find out was going on" Magnus said.

Everyone nodded and walked into the portal. Dot walked over to Magnus and touched his arm. "Do you regret what happened tonight?" Dot asked. She knew she manipulated the situation, just so she could finally have Magnus to herself. Dot doesn't know her selfish decision will change the lives of those she held dear forever. Dot was bought out of her thoughts when Magnus lightly touched her arm. "Dot, are you okay?" Magnus looked concerned. Dot smiled. Dot was about to lean over and kiss Magnus, Magnus stepped back looking confused. "Tonight was nice, but I think I am going to call it a night" Magnus said as he walked towards the balcony. Dot was stunned by Magnus mood change. She watched Magnus stared at the city lights of New York. Dot knew if she made Magnus forget what happened this evening, Jace, Izzy, Clary, Simon and more importantly Cat would become suspicious. She just needed to make sure that no one knew that Alec was actual at Hunter's Moon tonight. "It's not like anyone got hurt tonight. I just need to try erase what Cat said to Magnus" Dot thought to herself as pink magic lite up her hand. Dot slowly walked up behind Magnus.

Magnus stood on the balcony watching the stars shine bright in the dark sky. "You might want to check your blood" he remembers Cat's cryptic statement. "What's wrong with my blood?" He softly asked to himself. Magnus was yearning for Alec, thinking maybe he jumped to conclusions too quickly. Magnus laid his hand over his heart. He laid out his hand and his cellphone appeared. Magnus quickly scrolled thru his contact list and found the number he was looking for. He pressed the call button and waited for the other person to answer the phone. "Uh, I hate leaving an outgoing message Magnus. Come on my darling angel people need to know they are calling the right person." "Okay fine. Uh, hello, you reached me Alec I am unavailable, please a message and I will call back. Is that good?" Alec asked annoyed. "Perfect angel' Magnus said. The phone beeped to leave a message. Magnus's breathe quiver and a tear rolled down his check. "Alexander, you must be busy. I uh, don't know what compiled me to call you, but I " Magnus was interrupted by footsteps. He turned and looked at Dot who was startled. She put her hands behind her back to push her magic back down. "Call me please" Magnus said while staring at Dot. Magnus ended the call. "Magnus, why don't we..."  Dot started to say. "Dot tonight was fun, but its late and I am really tired" Magnus said as he waved his hand to form a portal. Dot tried to step close to Magnus, but he stepped back. Dot hid her rejection. "Okay I will talk to you tomorrow" Dot turned around and disappeared into the portal.

Cat walked into her apartment. Madzie was sleeping on the couch. Cat smiled and waved a soft blanket over Madzie. Cat walked into the guest room; Max turned and wiped his tears. Cat walked over and hugged Max tightly. Michael watched Cat comfort Max. Max and Cat both turned and looked at Alec was still protected under the silver dome. Alec's face and body was covered in bandages. Every inch of his body was covered in black, blue and purple bruises. The swelling in Alec's face was slowing coming down. Cat slowly walked over and put hands up when she saw the wolf cub popped his head up. Max eyes went wide when he saw the little cub propped his head up from under Alec's neck. "Where did he come from?" Max pointed to the wolf cub. "It's Alec's spirit animal or as humans call them familiars" Michael said. Cat sat at the edge of the bed and held Alec's hand. 

Cat felt Alec squeezed her hand. She saw a tear leave Alec's eye. The wolf club licked his master's face. "Don't worry Alec, no one will hurt here" Cat whispered. Cat opened the bottle and poured the shimmering white liquid in Alec's mouth. Cat did one more scan of Alec's body and gave a sad smile. Cat stood up and stepped away, the silver dome appeared around Alec. "Cat will my brother be, okay?" Max whispered. Cat turned and wiped Max's tear-filled face. Michael walked over and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry Cat has done her part, it's up to Raziel and Alec now" Michael gave a comforting smile. Max looked at both Cat and Michael, "What happened to my brother?" Max whispered. "Max, Alec was brutally raped and beaten." Cat's voice quivered holding back her own tears. The 19-year Lightwood tried to hold his rage at bay. "The brutality of the assault should've have killed him. He suffered serve head trauma, who ever hit him, hit him with so much force his left eye almost popped out of socket. Alec suffered multiple fractures, broken bones, a punctured lung, multiple stab wounds and..." Cat couldn't continue to speak of all the injures Alec sustained. Cat nearly collapsed, Michael and Max helped Cat up and sat her down and gave her moment to pull herself together.

"Where did you find my brother?" Max was trying to figure out why Jace didn't feel that Alec was in danger. "I found him behind Hunter's Moon." Michael said. Max stood up and formed a fist. "That doesn't make sense. Wait Magnus, Jace, Izzy, Clary, Simon and Luke were there, right?" Max asked. Max paced back and forth trying to connect the dots. "OMG!!!" Max whispered. Michael and Cat stared at the shock expression on Max's face. Max turned and looked at Cat. "With Jace closing their bond, they left him to face the danger alone before knowing the truth about the soul sword" Max was raging with anger. Cat's eyes widened, "What truth about the soul sword?" Cat asked. She had a feeling there was a reason why Alec didn't tell Magnus about the soul sword. Max took Cat's hands and gave it a loving squeeze. "The attack on the Institute was staged. The soul sword was not lost, while the shadow hunters were defending the Institute, the clave handed the sword to Valentin. I overheard my dad arguing with Alec about the clave's deception and then Robert made a threat to Alec forcing him to keep silent or Magnus will be arrest and put to death for treason and I was able to get proof just in case no one believed my brother" Max said. 

Michael stood calm, "So the clave deliberately defied the Accords." Michael said. Max nodded his head and looked down at Cat. "I can't believe it, but at the same time I am not surprised" Cat calmly said. Michael closed his eyes and glowed. Max watched in amazement that he was witnessing angelic power for the first time.  Michael opened his eyes and looked at both Cat and Max. "I have informed Raziel of recent events, he will informed Alec of this" Michael whispered. "Give me your hand Max" Michael laid out his hand. Max without an ounce of hesitation walked over to Michael and gave his hand. Michael spread out his wings and a soft white glow surrounded both him and Max. Max felt pure angelic power rush thru his body. Max saw new rune that he has never seen before formed on his right wrist. The rune glowed a blueish grey, once the glow disappeared Michael smiled. Max just stared at the new rune. "I never seen a rune like this before" Max said studying the new design on his wrist. Cat studied the rune and her eyes went wide. Cat just smiled because she knew the meaning of the rune and in due time Max will know the special meaning too. Michael smiled and placed his hand on his shoulder, "This rune is only given to the most loyal. When Alec wakes up, he will tell you the true meaning of this rune. He will then ask you a very important question" Michael waited for Max to digest the new information. Michael continued, "But for now this rune will protect from the evil that walks thru the walls of the Institute" Michael finished. Max looked at the rune and smiled, "I will stand by my brother no matter what, he deserves to know despite everything that he has been through, my love and support will never waiver" Max said with confidence. Cat just smiled knowing that Max's dedication to his brother will be rewarded. Cat smile turned into a frown. Max recognized the change in Cat's mood. "How are we going to cover Alec's disappearance?" Cat question.

Max turned and smiled. "No worries, I got that covered. I made a call to Jia at the London Institute and explained that Alec was severely injured and needs time to heal, because our Institue has been compromised" Max explained. "I explained to Jia we could not alert the enemy of Alec's condition, Jia suggested that she will make it like Alec came to London to help with confirming active Circle members and observed some new recruits. That should buy us at least 2-3 weeks at most, so Lydia will cover the Institute until Alec returns" Max said. Max knows Lydia can be trusted and will have to find a way to let her know what really happened with Alec and the Clave breaking the Accords. Michael and Cat nodded in agreement. "That will give Alec enough time to recover" Cat said while she looked at her patient. Alec protected under the sliver doomed showed some discomfort. The wolf cub gently laid on his chest and kept watched for any danger.

Alec stood on a beautiful, lush landscape. As Alec looked to the night sky, his breath hitched as he watched the most beautiful Northern lights he has ever seen. The vibrant colors of blue, purple and green effortlessly glided through the night sky. Despite what Alec had endured, he felt at peace. He finally didn't feel the disappointment from his family and friends. A soft voice brought him out of his thoughts. When he turned around, he was face to face with Raziel. Raziel smiled at Alec, "We finally meet Alec." Raziel waited for Alec to register what was happening. Raziel stopped Alec from bowing to him. "There is no need for that my son" Raziel smiled. Raziel touched the side of his face. Alec leaned into the touch. "This is what is feels like to have a father's love" Alec thought to himself. "Have I died?" Alec asked. Apart of Alec felt like the shadow world would be better off without him, but at the same time he yearned to be with Magnus, and he couldn't leave Max by himself. "No, my son." Raziel placed his hand on his shoulder. "You have suffered so much. You will suffer no more" Raziel said with love and determination. "It's time to embrace your true destiny my son. You will have your vengeance Alec" Raziel said. Alec closed his eyes and flashes of him being brutally assaulted came to the forefront of his mind. Tears ran down as he remembered being scolded, by his father, Jace, Izzy and Clary. Alec felt broken that people he loved turn their backs on him. 

Without realizing, Alec felt something change in him. Alec took a deep breath and slowly opened his eyes and looked at Raziel. Alec's eyes were no longer hazel with the gold tint. Raziel was now looking at the Nephilim with blueish grey eyes and smiled "The Alec that everyone looked down upon as weak and useless, died in the dark alley behind Hunter's Moon. I am ready Raziel to embrace who I am truly meant to be" Alec said. Alec knew he was forever changed, and eventually he will need to come to terms with that. For now, he had to put the assault in the back of his mind, because there were people that he needed to protect and there were people who needed to make pay for what they had done to him. Raziel stepped back, with a wave of his hand silver, white and blue flames circled around Alec. Alec looked around at the flames and then looked at Raziel. "Let us begin" Raziel said.

Chapter Text

Max took a deep breath before entering the Institute. Max hated leaving his brother, but he needed to speak with Lydia. Max rolled up his sleeve and smiled looking at the special rune on his wrist. He felt a small pulse of angelic magic thru the rune. He remembered that Michael told him the rune will protect him. Max looked up to sky thinking of his brother. "Big Brother, I hope you know that I am here for you, and no matter what I stand with you" Max whispered to himself. Faint breeze blew thru Max's hair. Max thought he could feel his brother's presence around him. It gave Max comfort knowing that his big brother will come back to him when he's ready. Max took another deep breath and entered the Institute.

"Guys, are you sure a Shadow Hunter was injured?" Andrew asked. "Yes, Cat said it was a Shadow Hunter but refused to tell us the name" Jace said. Izzy was about to continue when they say Max walked in typing on his phone. "Max" Izzy yelled and walked over to her baby brother. Max looked up and rolled his eyes and tried to walk in the direction to Alec's office. Jace, Izzy and Clary blocked his way. Max closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Max noticed the other hunters was watching the scene to play out. He felt the rune on his wrist pulsate; Max turned and saw Sebastian, Raj and Ryan standing together. Max looked closer at Sebastian, and he finally understood Michael's warning about evil lurking in the halls of the Institute. "You son of a bitch" Max said to himself as he was glaring at Sebastian. Max was bought out of his thoughts when Izzy lightly squeezed his arm. 

"Max, did you hear anything we said?" Izzy seemed to be annoyed, but to Max he didn't care. "Have you heard from Alec?" Izzy asked. "He's not answering any of our calls or fire messages" Jace stated. Clary could not read Max's facial expression when he showed a sly smirk and then became serious. "To answer your question Izzy, yes I talked to my brother and to answer your question Jace," Max let out sarcastic laugh, "Why would my brother want to talk to you three, when you call him useless, weak, liar and let's not forget a traitor to his face" Max growled stepping in front of Izzy, Jace and Clary. Max could see that they were feeling uncomfortable. Jace could feel the eyes were staring at them. "We just want to know if Alec knew about the injured shadow hunter, I mean you must already know who it is so just tell us already" Clary said. Max folded his arms and glared at Clary. "Yeah, I know who it is, and you three don't deserve to know and I am not planning on betraying his trust unlike some people I know" Max growled. For a quick second Jace saw Max's eyes change from brown to silver, he was taken aback. "If you excuse me I have somewhere else to be that needs my attention" Max shoved Izzy and Jace from his path as he was about to walk towards Alec's office.

Jace grabbed Max's arm before Jace could react an invisible forced knocked Jace to the ground. Everyone in the Ops center was silent and shocked. Max turned and smiled knowing the special rune was protecting him. Max could almost feel his brother was with him. "What the hell Max!" Izzy yelled. Izzy and Clary helped Jace up. Jace was still in shock. "Who were you with?" Jace asked. Max glared, "It's none of your business!" Max yelled, before he could continue, "Breathe baby brother, it's okay" Max heard his brother's voice in his head. Max held back the tears knowing his brother was okay and protected. Everyone watched as Max was about to get emotional, Maryse laid her hand tenderly on Max's shoulder. "Is everything okay, sweetheart" Maryse had a look of concern. Max turned and looked at the crowd and at the trio that was standing in front of him. "To be honest mom, I am not okay, that's why I wanted to talk with you and Lydia privately, but I was delayed." Max said looking at his sister and brother 

"Bring mom and Lydia to Cat's" Alec said softly in Max's mind. Max didn't react he just stared, Max was about to answer when he saw his mom catch a special fire message. Maryse was silent reading the message, she lifted her head and looked at Max. "Mom what's wrong?" asked Izzy. Maryse looked at her youngest son, Izzy tried to reach out and take the fire message to see what it said. Suddenly everyone watched in astonishment as the message burst into a silver flame. "Everyone back to work, there is nothing to see here. All of you to Alec's office now" Lydia commanded. 

Everyone entered Alec's office as Lydia sat down at the desk. Max felt his rune tingle he turned to see Sebastian was about to come into the office. A barrier pushed Sebastian back. Clary's eyes went wide as Max looked serious, but he was smiling inside. "Sebastian are you okay?" Clary asked. Everyone in the room expect for Max was confused. "Yeah, I just lost my footing. I wanted to know if I could be of any help” Sebastian said suggestively.  Sebastian wanted in because he wanted to find out where Alec was, so he could continue to break him apart. Sebastian tried entered the office again, the invisible force slammed he back into the wall. Clary was about to walk out when Max spoke, "If you walk out of this office, you will not be allowed back in." Max said shrugging his shoulders. Everyone was shocked seeing Max being so outspoken. Clary stepped back from the entryway looking at Sebastian. Jace and Izzy looked at each other wondering, what Max meant. "Sebastian, I appreciate that you want to help, if there is anything we need, I will be sure to let you know" Lydia said. Max turned his back on Sebastian staring at the trio. Sebastian stood up and rubbed his back glaring at the backside of Max. "Maybe I should teach you a lesson, like I did your brother" Sebastian said to himself. In that very moment Sebastain almost fell back again when he saw Max turned around with such fury in his eyes, he thought there was no way Max could have heard him. "You will never get the chance you son of a bitch" Max thought glaring vengefully at Sebastian. Max closed the door in Sebastian seething face.

"Mom what did that fire message say?" Jace was now curious what the message Maryse read left her speechless. Max placed a silencing rune on the door. "Uh, Max is to take Lydia and myself to meet with Cat" Maryse said looking at her youngest son who didn't look surprised. Max smiled knowing who sent the message. "I will bring them to you, big brother" Max thought to himself. "Yeah, that is no problem, once you are there you will understand" Max said. Max took out his cellphone and sent a text message and slipped his phone back in his pocket. A few minutes later a silver portal appeared inside the office. Everyone was shocked that the wards did not go off. Max smiled, "Mom, Lydia we should get going" Max said as he was standing next to the portal. Lydia and Maryse looked at each other and nodded. Lydia looked at Izzy, Jace and Clary, "If anyone ask. I am doing some paperwork, and I do not want to be disturbed" Lydia stood up and walked thru the portal. "Mom, we should go" Max said laying out his hand to his mother. Maryse grabbed her youngest son's hand, as they were about to walk thru the portal Izzy called out. "Wait mom, we should come with you" Izzy pleaded.

Max turned around and glared at his siblings. "I think its best you search for Jonathan instead of worrying about with us" Max growled. "Honey it's alright, they can come" Maryse pleaded. Jace, Clary and Izzy nodded in agreement as they tried to walk thru the portal. A powerful force blocked them from entering and moments later a beautiful full-grown white wolf with blueish grey eyes, the tip of his tail was silver growled which force Izzy, Jace and Clary to step back. They looked at Max who was not afraid of the mysterious wolf. Maryse was definitely confused about the animosity between her children and Clary. "Hey, I won't be long, if what Max says is true, Jonathan will impose a much bigger threat to the entire shadow world" Maryse commanded. She took Max's hand and walked into the portal with the white wolf by their side. The portal closed behind them. Clary took out her cellphone and sent a text message to Simon. "I just texted Simon to meet us and take us to Cat's apartment" Clary said. Jace tried to feel out Alec thru their bond. Jace knew that he was wrong in muting out their parabatai bond because he wanted to punish Alec for lying to them about the soul sword. Now could barely feel Alec thru their bond. "Jace, are you trying to reach out to Alec?" Izzy asked. Jace nodded in confusion. "I can barely feel him; I can't explain the sensation. Maybe he still thinks I'm still mad at him and thought to mute the bond on his end." Jace was still angry with his older brother, but at the same felt like they were growing apart and that concern him. "We will figure out about that later. Let's call Magnus and have him meet us at Cat's" Izzy said giving Jace soft squeeze on his arm. Jace nodded. "Let's go"

Maryse and Max entered Cat's apartment. The full-grown wolf walked out of the portal as it closed. Maryse and Lydia watched the full-grown glowed and shifted into a cub as he walked into the guestroom. "Honey what is going on?" Maryse asked. When she turned around, she saw her youngest son hold back his tears. Her motherly instincts kicked in seeing her child in pain. She watched as Max averted his eyes to the guestroom. "Mom, Lydia, you need to prepare yourself for what I am about to tell. I lied about Alec being in London." Max said softly. Maryse became worried, "If Alec is not in London, then where is my son?" Before Max could answer Cat came out of the guestroom. "Alec is in here Maryse" Maryse turned to see her best friend. She quickly walked over to Cat. Without saying a word, Cat took Maryse's hand and squeezed it. As they walked to the guestroom, Maryse gut was telling her whatever she was about to see behind the door was going to change her life.

They stopped at the door. Cat turned to look at her best friend and Lydia. Max stood behind his mom, knowing when she sees Alec it was going to break her heart. "Is Alec behind this door" Maryse voice cracked with worry. She looked at Max and from his expression, whatever Alec's condition was; it wasn't good. Cat squeezed Maryse's hand and opened the bedroom door. Maryse saw the situation and her whole world shattered. Lydia covered her mouth and started to cry seeing Alec lying on the bed motionless but was protected under a silver dome. Max caught Maryse as she collapsed seeing her first born lying on the bed covered in bandages and bruises. The wolf club turned and looked at Maryse as she staggered to get to her son. Silver dome allowed Maryse to enter. She began to cry her first son gently put her arms around her son. Max put his head down and wiped his tears as he heard his mother crying and pleading for Alec to come back to them. "My poor baby, Mama is here" Maryse ran her fingers through Alec's hair. She began to cry again when she didn't get a reaction.

"Hello Maryse" a deep voice softly echoed in the room. Everyone turned and saw Michael standing in the corner. 'Who are you" Lydia asked. Maryse laid Alec back on the bed and kissed his forehead. She stood up and walked over to Michael. Lydia watched as the silver dome appear. "Archangel Michael" Maryse whispered. Lydia eyes went wide. "That can't be" she said both confused and surprise. Michael gave a smile. "How did you come here?" Michael asked. Before Maryse or Lydia could answer, Max spoke standing next to Cat. "Alec asked me to bring you here, I think it was for the best considering we have a mole in the Institute" Max said. Cat and Michael tried not to smile knowing a beautiful surprise was waiting for him when Alec wakes up. Maryse looked at Max and then at Michael, "What happened to my son?" Maryse asked. 

Cat walked over to her best friend and sat her down on the couch. While holding her best friend's hand and thru tears, Cat began to explain what happened to Alec at Hunter's Moon. Maryse closed her eye shaking her head vigorously and crying hearing that her beautiful baby was brutally raped and beaten nearly to death. Lydia wiped her tears hearing the truth about Alec. "Why was Alec at Hunter's moon in the first place?" Lydia asked.

"It's my fault" Max whispered putting his head down. Everyone in the room looked at Max. Michael walked over and gave him a comforting squeeze on his shoulder. "Sweetheart how is it your fault?" Maryse asked wiping her tears. Max's breath hitched. "I convinced Alec to go to Hunter's Moon and tell Magnus the truth about the soul sword" Max said. Lydia and Maryse looked at each other and then at Max, "The soul sword was lost during the Valentine's attack on the Institute, right" Lydia 's gut was telling her Max was about to drop a bomb on both her and Maryse. "While the Institute was being attack, the soul sword was not lost, the Clave handed the sword to Valentine" Max watched his mom and Lydia's mouths open and then close. Max walked over to his mom and knelt in front her and gave her his cellphone showing the video of Valentine receiving the sword by the Clave. Maryse watched the video and her eyes went wide. Her face went from shock to anger; she abruptly stood up holding the phone. "That son of a bitch!" Maryse growled glaring at the phone. Lydia walked over and looked at the video, "Wait, are you saying Robert was with the Clave when they gave the sword to the Valentine" Lydia said. She could not believe that the man she looked up too would commit such a betrayal.

Max was holding his mom's hand. "That's not all," Max looked at this mom, "I overheard dad threaten Alec if he revealed the truth about the soul sword, he would see to it that Magnus be arrested and executed as a traitor. If I haven't convinced Alec to go, he wouldn't be fighting for his life" Max started crying.  Maryse grabbed her youngest son and held him tight. "You didn't know this would happen, and your brother would tell you the same thing" Maryse said. They all turned and watched a sleeping Alec under the silver dome with the wolf cub laying protectively on his chest. No one notice a rune under right wrist was slowly forming. Maryse looked at her precious boy battered body, the lioness inside was hungry for vengeance. "I am going to kill that piece of shit husband of mine" Maryse growled. Michael stopped her. "Not yet we have to wait for Alec. I understand you want justice for you son, but I have a feeling Alec might have something planned, since the Clave has broken the accords" Michael pleaded. 

"I have a question; do you think that Alec told Magnus before he was attacked?" Lydia wonder. Lydia felt something wasn't right. "I mean, if Alec was able to tell Magnus and everyone at Hunter's Moon, Alec wouldn't have been attacked" Lydia said. Cat was sitting on the couch thinking and then everything clicked when she remembered Alec whispering pink fairy dust. Cat was bought out of her thoughts when she heard Max talking. "I don't think my brother had a chance. From what I heard, Jace, Izzy and Clary pretty much humiliated Alec in front of the entire shadow and down world. Mom, Jace has muted his parabatai, they just left him" Max couldn't hold his anger. Maryse just hugged her son. "We need to talk to Magnus" Cat thought to herself, she felt ward alerted her that an uninvited guest had arrived. Before they could go see who was at the front door, they all heard a faint voice in the room, "Don't mention to them I was at Hunter's moon, just yet" Everyone looked around the room and all eyes landed on a sleeping Alec. Alec's hair was a little longer and close glance they saw a faint silver streak in his hair. Max just smiled, "It's Alec. He must have a plan" Maryse looked at her eldest son and looked at Max, "Are you sure?" Maryse whispered. Both Cat and Max nodded, "We have to trust him Maryse" Cat said giving her best friend a reassuring smile. "Now let's see who is at my door"

Magnus, Dot, Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon were standing in front of Cat's door. Magnus was feeling uneasy since he last saw his best friend. Dot grabbed his hand, Magnus looked down and tried to release the hold, but Dot squeezed his hand tighter. "Magnus, your hand was severely shaking" Dot said while she lightly injected her magic to him. Magnus removed her hand from his. "Why isn't Cat answering the door, our mother and Lydia are in there." Jace interjected. Magnus just glared at Jace, before Magnus could answer blondie's question the door opened. Madzie peaked her head out and smiled when she saw it was her uncle Magnus. "Mag, Mag!" Madzie swung the door opened and jumped in her uncle's arms.

"Hello sweet pea, is mommy home?" Magnus asked kissing Madzie's cheek. Magnus sat her down and suddenly Madzie pulled Magnus into the apartment. Everyone followed Magnus into Cat's apartment. Madzie pulled Magnus to the couch and sat on his lapped. Madzie was smiling looking around, suddenly her smile faded. Magnus caught that Madzie's mood had changed. Madzie turned and looked at Magnus, then at Dot. Madzie was scratching head looking utterly confused. "Mag, Mag, are you and her together now?" pointing at Dot. Before Dot could answer, Madzie asked another question, "Uncle Mag, where's Alec because you don't look happy anymore. Do you and Alec not love each anymore? " Madzie whispered and sniffed trying not to cry. Magnus looked how devasted his precious sorceress was, "Uncle Alec is currently in London helping some people in need. And to answer your second question I am very much in love with Uncle Alec" Magnus said and kissed her forehead. Magnus hated himself for how things are with his ex-boyfriend. He allowed his fear of being betrayed get the best of him. Magnus laid his hand over his heart and rubbed. He felt his magic was pulling in the direction of the guestroom. Magnus didn't notice how upset Dot was with his answer. Dot squeezed her fist and bite inside her mouth in frustration and felt blood in the inside of her cheek. "He is still thinking about that Damn Alec. Magnus is mine damn it" Dot thought to herself. Dot looked up and was startled at the way Madzie was looking at her. "Izzy where is your mommy?" Clary asked. Madzie turned and looked at Clary, "Mommy is in the room with Auntie Maryse and Ms. Lydia and Max helping an injured angel" Madize said with pride of her mommy.

Jace, Izzy, and Clary stood up ready to walk towards the guest room, a power force stopped them from entering. Magnus eyes went wide "That's impossible" he said in whispered. Everyone looked at Magnus. Magnus was about to elaborate when they heard a male voice. "May I ask why you are here?" Michael stood at the entry way with Cat, Max, Maryse and Lydia. "Max do exactly like I said" Alec whispered to him. Max smirked looking at his sister and brother, "I can't wait to make you squirm" Max thought to himself, "This is about to get interesting"

Chapter Text

"This is going to be interesting" Max thought to himself. Magnus kept rubbing his chest feeling his magic being drawn to the guestroom. Magnus remembered he gave Cat a dropped of his blood to help the injured shadow hunter. Magnus felt someone grabbed his hand and a little tug from his pants leg. Magnus was bought out of his thoughts when he heard Cat speak. "So, are you two together now?" Cat asked pointing at Dot holding Magnus's hand. Dot was about to give a devilish smirk when she felt Magnus let go her hand. Dot looked was shocked that Magnus rejected her once again. Magnus knelt down and looked at Madzie with a smile. "Sweet Pea, how about you go and check in on the injured angel in the guestroom while us adults have a conversation. Can you do that for me?" Magnus asked. Madzie looked around the room confused. She couldn't understand why everyone looked unhappy. Madzie looked at Cat for approval. Cat smiled at her, "You can go in and sit in with the injured angel. We won't be long." Madzie turned and hugged Magnus and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Before Madzie left, she turned and looked at everyone, "Please be nice, Uncle Alec does not like when people are mad at each other." Everyone nodded in agreement as Madzie walked to the guestroom.

Magnus rubbed his legs and stood up looking at his dear friend. "To answer your question Cat, Dot and I are just friends" For the last few days Magnus kept to himself to reflect on his handling of Alec keeping the truth of the soul sword from him. Magnus only hoped he can eventually talk to Alec in hopes to salvage what they have together because he came to the realization their love was something worth fighting for. Magnus was bought out of his thoughts of Alec when he heard Jace speak. "Don't you think Alec should at least reached out to us?" Jace felt like Alec was not acting like the head of the Institute. Max stepped up and just looked at Jace. "I am going to ask you this one more time. Why would my brother, your parabatai would want to talk to you?" Max demanded. Everyone was shocked how vocal Max was. In all honesty, Jace couldn't really answer his younger brother. Jace knew things have been estranged in the last few weeks. "Observe Dot" Alec whispered to Max and Cat. 

Max turned and looked at Cat with the same shock expression. After they both realized it was really Alec speaking to them telepathically, they nodded in agreement. Max placed his focus back on Jace, Izzy, Magnus, Clary, Simon and Dot. "All of you treated my brother like shit for the last few weeks. I mean, your way to punish my brother is to mute the parabatai bond you both share!" Max growled. Everyone in the room was shock with Max's outburst. Jace was about to respond when Max interrupted him abruptly. Max pointed at his brother and sister. "If you knew the lengths that my brother took to protect you selfish bastards" Max quietly yelled. Izzy and Jace looked at each confused. "What are you talking about Max?" asked Izzy. Max just shook his head in annoyance at his older brother and sister. Maryse was just as confused, but something in her gut was telling her that whatever Max was going to say, was going to set her off.

Max turned angrily at his siblings pointing at them. "Between you two breaking the rules and you Jace showboating your cockiness in front the redhead" pointing at Clary "Going on unsanctioned missions, Alec had to suffer in silence because of you four" Max growled looking at Jace, Izzy Clary and Simon. Magnus stood in silence not understanding where the conversation was going, until a memory flashed of Alec coming home with a slight limp and a busted lip. Magnus remembered Alec saying the injury was from fighting hellhound. Magnus was bought out of his thoughts when Dot tugged his arm. Magnus blinked and looked at Max who had the looked like he was ready to beat the hell out of Jace.

Maryse whispered, "What do you mean by Alec suffering?" She didn't know how much more her heart could take. She was already devasted that her oldest was in the guestroom fighting for his life. Maryse felt Cat squeezed her hand for moral support. She looked at her best friend and gave a wry smile. "Whenever the Clave discover that you two failed to follow protocol, the Clave sends our father to issue the punishment to Alec" Max said holding back tears. "Our fucking father takes our brother down to the catacombs and for 12hrs Alec is tortured and beaten severely. One time dad, with the help of a warlock force Alec to be deruned and fight off a demon the mundane way" Max choked with tears rolling down. Maryse covered her mouth crying at the revelation. Izzy and Jace faces went pale. "Dad would never do something like that" Izzy choked out.

Max glared at his sister. "I witnessed it with my own eyes. Dad got more sadistic when he found out Alec fell in love with Magnus and helped out Clary when they went to see Iris about resurrecting Jocelyn" Max turned and looked at Clary. "Dad said sadistically that he would tie Alec down and force him to watch helplessly as Izzy and Magnus get gang banged by those disgusting Downworlders" Max growled.  "Robert even confessed that he could get away with it because he had done it to Magnus many years ago" Max whispered. Magnus caught the last statement from Max. Magnus doesn't even remember being held captive by Robert. Clary staggered back in shock that her selfish actions has costed Alec so much pain. "Dad loved abusing my brother, because he thought he could beat the gayness out of Alec. When dad realize that didn't work, he did the next best thing" Max said cryptically while looking at Magnus.

"What does not mean?" Jace asked. Jace was still reeling that Alec was being punished for their behavior. Jace looked at Izzy who also looked ashamed for how she acted. Magnus's heart sunk hearing that his ex was going thru so much. He felt his power surge under his skin when he realized what Max just said. Magnus ran his fingers thru his hair and closed his eyes trying to remember. Dot rubbed his back at the same time Max and Cat watched as they saw a faint pink magic entered Magnus body. Max turned and looked at Cat who fumed with anger. 

"Dot is using an ancient Encanto spell. Obviously, Dot might be aware of Magnus past trauma that even Magnus himself is not aware of" Cat said telepathically to Alec and Max. Max nodded and turned back around and stared at Magnus who was rubbing his temple. Cat felt sympathy for her oldest friend, now knowing that Magnus might have experience the same fate as Alec years ago and does not even remember it ever happening to him. "Max in a few minutes follow my lead" Alec whispered. Max could fell the raw emotion of his big brother. He felt love, sympathy, disappointment and rage.

"Excuse me I understand that Robert is the scumbag dad of the year, but aren't we supposed to be finding out the mysterious injured shadow hunter?" Simon interjected. "Max turned with a look that no one could decipher. "You want to know about the mysterious shadow hunter? Let's talk about him" Max said. "It's my fault that this shadow hunter is fighting for his life. I asked him to go to Hunter's Moon to talk to Magnus, because he had some information regarding the attack on the Institute and the missing soul sword" Max watched the faces standing before him. "He went there hoping to talk to Magnus, but he was stopped and ridicule in front of the entire shadow world." Max watched as Magnus, Jace, Izzy, Clary and Simon looked confused. But what caught Max's attention was Dot's reaction. Max now knew Dot is the reason why Alec is in a medical induced coma protected by angel magic.

Max took a deep breath and continue to recount what happened to Alec without mentioning his name, "So, the shadow hunter went out back hoping to speak with Magnus, but he was ambushed by unknown assailants. Just know the attack was violent and if Gabe didn't show up, I believe the shadow hunter would've been killed" Max said. He turned and looked at Michael and winked. Michael was standing with a dumbfounded look wondering why Max didn't call him by his true name. Michael then caught on as to why Max didn't let anyone else know expect for Maryse and Cat. In order to raise Raziel an angel needs to be sacrifice.  No one needed to know that an archangel was waking among them, so Michael nodded in agreement. Magnus absentmindedly rubbed his hand over his heart feeling his power pulling him towards the guest room.

Magnus was about to walk towards the guestroom, when everyone heard Max's cellphone was ringing. Max looked down at his phone and did not recognize the number. "Hello" Max answered putting the phone on speaker. There was a brief silence and then a soft voice filled the room. "Hey baby brother" Alec whispered. Max's head shot up and looked at Maryse and Cat with a shock look on their faces. The only that was not surprised was Michael who just stood there in silence with a smirk. Maryse looked at her best friend who was also surprised. 

"Max, are you still there?" Alec whispered. Max smiled, "Yes I'm here, but I am not alone. I am here with Jace, Izzy, Dot, Magnus, Clary, Simon, Lydia, Cat, Michael and Mom" Max whispered. Everyone heard Alec's breath hitched hearing that his mother was there. "Mama" Alec whispered softly. Maryse can hear the devastation in her baby's voice. She needed to reassure him that despite what happened to him, she will stand with him. "Sweetheart, I know, and we will get through this together" Maryse said while chocking back her tears. Cat laid a comforting hand on her lower back. Maryse looked at her dear friend and nodded in agreement.

Before Jace could speak, Alec spoke; "Max, do you have me on speaker?" Max looked around the room still trying to figure out how his big brother is able to call him while he was still in a medical induced coma in the guestroom. "I have you on speaker big brother" Max stated. Jace still could not feel anything through their bond. Jace looked at Izzy wondering if they had made a mistake in the way they were treating Alec for the past few weeks. Jace was bought out of his thoughts when he heard Alec's voice.

"Good, because I have a few things I would like to say to everyone, and I would appreciate that no one interrupt me." Alec's voice was stern and didn't leave any room to argue. "I have decided on some things concerning the future of the Institute, since you all have lost confidence in me to lead the Institute effectively. I will announce those changes when I return." Alec said with no emotion. Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon went pale with regret. "And before you ask, I am currently in London assisting with the capture of active Circle members. We have reason to believe that Valentine and Jonathan is very much alive, and they are in the process of locating the death mirror." 

As a mother, Maryse never wanted to see her children suffer. It took everything she had not to run into the guestroom and hold her precious boy. Izzy and Jace was rattled with guilt. Izzy spoke, "Alec is there any-" "At this time I don't need anything from you" Alec demanded. The room was eerily silent. Magnus felt his heartbreaking for his ex. Suddenly Magnus staggered backwards holding his head. Magnus shut his eyes and a brief flash of Alec standing in front of him surrounded by a crowd. Alec sensed Max's distress when he called out Magnus's name. Max gave Maryse his cellphone and rushed over and grabbed Magnus before Dot could touch him. Max helped Magnus sit down on the couch. Magnus was still holding his head.

"Mom what's happening, is Magnus, okay?" Alec asked very concerned. "I'm not sure honey, Magnus just collapsed. Cat is checking him now" Maryse said. Maryse knew Alec's love for Magnus runs deep. Maryse watched Cat use her magic and completed a full body scan on Magnus. Dot watched nervously as Cat was checking on Magnus. Dot was confident that she hid her magical signature well. Max looked at Cat. "What's wrong with Magnus?" Max asked as he placed a pillow under Magnus head. Michael walked over and looked down at Magnus. Michael's eyes turned ice blue as he scanned Magnus. Dot stared at both Michael and Cat who schooled their facial expressions. Michael walked over to Maryse who softly talking to Alec. "I know what is wrong with Magnus" Michael whispered low enough that only Alec, Lydia and Maryse could hear. "It looks like Magnus overexerted himself" Cat said. Max knew that Cat was lying because they knew Dot was behind Magnus's condition. Maryse walked over and placed the phone near Magnus's ear. 

Cat looked at Maryse. "Alec asked me to place the phone next to his ear" Maryse said. Dot tried to lean in to see if she could hear what Alec was saying. Max grabbed her arm. "Dot what do you think you are doing?" Max glared.  Dot tried not to seem nervous, "I'm just concerned for Magnus" Dot said acting like a concern friend. Max looked down at his cellphone next to Magnus and saw a faint blueish grey line of magic enter Magnus's ear. Max and leaned over and grabbed the phone. Max put the phone to his ear listening his brother speak and looked at Cat. "Okay I will let her know" Max hung up the phone and placed it his back pocket.

"What did he say?" Izzy asked. She was hating that Alec was distancing himself from them. At the time they thought Alec deserved whatever bad karma he should endured because they felt he was being so high and mighty. Now after hearing that Alec was secretly being punished by their father for their rebellious behavior. Apart of Izzy didn't want to believe that their own father would do such a thing. But hearing how cold Alec was towards them during the telephone call. With Magnus collapsing they all forgot to ask Alec about Robert. 

Magnus groaned squeezing his eyes shut rubbing his temple. Cat waved her hand to dim the lights. Magnus was about to sit up fast when two strong hands stopped him. "Alexander" Magnus whispered still having his eyes closed. Dot bit the inside her mouth in anger. She still couldn't believe after everything Magnus was still thinking about Alec. "Take it easy Magnus" Max gently helped Magnus sit upright. Magnus was still rubbing his temple; he slowly opened his eyes. For a split-second Max saw Magnus's warlock mark change from gold cat-like eyes to blueish grey cat-like eyes. Max made a mental note to ask Alec how he was able to help Magnus thru the phone. "What happened?" Magnus asked while adjusting his eyesight. With a look of concern Cat sat on the other side of Magnus, "We are not entirely sure, but you collapsed. I think you might have overexerted yourself" Cat said looking directly at Dot who turned away. Magnus looked around the room confused, and his eyes widened with a revelation. Magnus turned and looked at Max grabbing his hand lovingly, "Alexander?" Max squeezed his hand. "Before Alec disconnected, he wanted me to relay a message to you. He said, once you hear you will understand somewhat, and the answer will be revealed when he returns"

Everyone in the room was silent. For the first time, Magnus smiled. "And he says warlocks are cryptic" Max smiled and then became serious, "Alec said you need to know the truth about the soul sword" Magnus eyes went wide and said to himself "Hunter's Moon"

Chapter Text

"You have to know the truth about the soul sword" Max said still holding Magnus's hand. "Hunter's Moon" Magnus thought to himself. Magnus closed his eyes and bowed his head. He rubbed his temple trying to figure out why he felt like someone cracked his skull scrambled his brain cells. Catarina looked at her oldest and dearest friend with concern. Cat knew Magnus would not believe her right away if he knew the real reason as to why he was feeling well all of a sudden. Cat glared at Dot who was staring at Magnus. Cat could not believe that Dot would stoop so low and because of her decision nearly cost Alec his life.

Magnus opened his eyes and looked around the room and then back at Max. "What do I need to know about the soul sword? You said the person came to Hunter's Moon to inform me about the soul sword, right?" Magnus asked quietly. Max bit his bottom lip and bowed his head. Max felt so conflicted because he was the one who pushed Alec to go to Hunter's Moon and now, he was in the guestroom healing from his injuries. Max didn't know if Magnus would blame him if he knew the injured Shadowhunter was Alec. Magnus caught a faint glow under Max's right wrist. Magnus was about to inspect the mysterious rune when heard speak softly. "I think its best that we wait for Alec to return and I can provide the evidence to prove his findings" Max said. Magnus caught the pain in Max's voice when he spoke Alec's name. Magnus squeezed Max's hand. "Okay, we'll wait for Alexander to return from London" Magnus didn't want to push Max any further, he could tell Max hiding something more painful that he was not ready to reveal just yet.

"How are you feeling now?" Cat asked scanning her friend once more. Magnus squinted his eyes to get a better look around once more. Magnus looked at Dot and thought to himself why was she looking nervous while everyone looked concerned. "I'm still feeling a little lightheaded right, but I can't shake this memory from my mind" Magnus said while scratching his head. "What memory?" Dot asked. Cat sat on the other side of Magnus and held his other hand. "I kept seeing distorted imagines, it's hard to explain. One vision that sticks from my mind is seeing Alexander surrounded by a blur I believe it might be a crowd I think, he looked heartbroken. I just don't know the location" Magnus said still rubbing his temple. Max and Cat looked at each other and didn't say a word. Max looked at Magnus, "Magnus, I think you should stay here a bit longer just to make sure you don't have another episode" Max suggested. Before, Magnus could speak, Dot spoke; "Maybe we should all leave. Uh, if what Alec said is true then both Valentine and Jonathan can pose a huge threat to us all" Dot needed to get Magnus alone and make sure he doesn't remember Alec was there at Hunter's Moon. 

Cat slowly turned her body and looked at former friend. "Dot, do you think it's wise that Magnus leave in the state that he is in right now?" Cat growled lowly.  Dot opened and closed her mouth to respond. Dot decided against it, because if she were to push the issue everyone will start to wonder. Magnus looked at both Max and Catarina with a wry smile and squeezed their hands. "Dot is right, maybe we should leave. I am sorry that we have upset you today. We were just concern about the injured Shadowhunter" Magnus said softly. Magnus looked at the closed guestroom door, he couldn't help feeling being drawn to the person inside the room. Max watched Magnus looking at the closed door, he wished he could tell his future brother in-law that the love of his immortal life was in that very guestroom fighting for his life. Max squeezed Magnus's hand and looked at him, "It's up to you Magnus, but I agree with Cat it's best you stay for just a little bit just to make sure you don't have another episode,' said Max. 

Magnus looked around the room at concerned faces one last time. Magnus took a deep breath and released it slowly. "I will stay a bit to ease your minds" Magnus said looking at Max and Cat. Max and Cat both smiled knowing that Dot was pissed off that Magnus was not leaving with her. "Magnus I could stay with you" Dot said. "No Dot, I will be fine. You and the others should go." Magnus suggested. Magnus was not sure why, but he just needed to be alone for a moment. He wanted to talk to Max about what he heard about Robert. He still didn't remember ever been held captive by Robert. "Magnus is right we should leave" Izzy said. Izzy was still reeling from what she heard from her younger brother about her father punishing Alec and with Alec calling she couldn't help but feel the distance from both Alec and Max. Izzy looked at Jace who also looked dejected. "Izzy is right, we should go. We need to know about Valentine and Jonathan. If what Alec said is true, this war is far from over" Jace said. Jace still could not feel Alec through their bond, because of his actions his older brother suffered for it. Cat waved her hand to form a portal, "It's been a long day I think you all and by that, I mean Dot, Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon should go" Cat requested. 

Clary was about to protest when she saw an anger Max glaring at her. Clary kept her mouth close. "You guys go ahead with Lydia. Max and I will meet up with you later" Maryse commanded. She didn't want to leave any room for an argument. Max didn't look at his Izzy and Jace. The way how they treated Alec without knowing the truth was unforgivable in his eyes. He made a promise to himself that he will never allow anyone to hurt his big brother ever again. Max turned to watch Lydia, Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon walked into the portal with regret on their faces. Max then turned to Dot who was still standing near Magnus. Max knew Dot is hoping that Magnus would change his mind and decide to leave. This would give her the opportunity to make sure that Magnus memory does not return. "Dot, you really need to go, I will be fine. Besides I need to speak with Max about something else" Magnus said looking at Max. Dot became very nervous and before she could speak, Magnus cut her off. "Dot, there is nothing to be worried about, I just need to speak to Max about another matter, that does not pertain with what happened today" Magnus said weakly. In around about way Cat realized Magnus lied but kept it to herself. She turned and looked at Dot waiting to see how she was going to respond. Dot could feel all eyes were on her and that made her nervous. "Can I at least wait for you at the loft?" Dot asked. Dot knew once Magnus agreed Catarina or Max could not stop her from being with Magnus. "That's fine, I won't be long" Magnus said. Dot smiled for a small victory. "Okay, don't be long. I will see you in a bit" Dot said as she walked towards the portal and disappeared at the portal closed behind.

Magnus laid back down across the couch and closed his eyes. Cat laid her hand over Magnus forehead and let her magic flow over him so he could rest. The guestroom door opened, everyone turned and watched the wolf cub walked over and jumped on the couch and laid across Magnus chest. Max watched with amazement as the wolf cub glowed a soft blue. The soft blue glow surrounded Magnus as he slept. Michael motion for everyone to the guestroom. Everyone walked into the guestroom where Alec was still sleeping under the silver dome. Cat picked up a sleeping Madzie and walked out to put her sleeping daughter to bad. Cat walked back to the guestroom and closed the door. Cat then placed a silencing spell over the door. Magnus could not hear, but she could hear if Magnus wakes up. Michael turned around and spoke, "I know what is really happening to Magnus" Max, Maryse and Cat looked at each other. "We know that Dot has place a spell on Magnus to block his memories" Max said thinking back how Magnus never mention Alec being at Hunter's Moon the night of his attack.

"Cat is right when she said it was an ancient Encanto spell. But this type of Encanto spell if not caught in time could be deadly for the victim. If the spell is used to many times, the victim's memories will eventually be wiped out. They would become a hollow shell of a person with no idea of who they are. It's like what humans call it Alzheimer's" Michael stopped to let Cat, Max and Maryse comprehend what they just heard. When Cat connected the dots, she nearly collapsed. Maryse and Max caught her in time. They sat her down on the loveseat. "Who would do such a thing to Magnus?" Maryse asked confused. Maryse knew Magnus would not allow anyone to get close to like that let alone allow them to harm him. Maryse was bought out of her thoughts when she heard Max. "Mom, Dot is the one who has been casting the spell on Magnus. The memory Magnus had about Alec was the night when Alec was attacked behind Hunter's Moon." Maryse eyes went wide. "But Izzy, Jace and-" Maryse stopped in mid-sentence when she realized they never mention Alec being at Hunter's Moon; "That Bitch!" Maryse growled. Max looked up at Michael, "Is there anything we can do to help Magnus?" Max asked. Michael smiled, "At the time there was no way to remove the spell without causing further brain damage to the victim, however I think your brother has cast his own spell to counter Dot's spell" Michael said. Max whispered "The phone" Michael nodded his head yes. "I'm not sure, but think with the help of Raziel, Alec might have found a way to counter the Encanto spell."

Magnus stirred and opened eyes to see an adorable white wolf cub laying across his chest. Magnus noticed a soft blue glow outlined around him. He felt angelic magic cursing through him. Magnus was surprised he wasn't bursting into flames since he is the Prince of Hell. The wolf cub poked his ear up when felt Magnus's breathing had changed. The cub lifted his head and looked at Magnus for a moment and walked over and licked his face. Magnus laughed holding the wolf cub. "Do you have a name little one?" Magnus whispered as he was running his fingers through the cub's soft white fur. "You know Alec would love you. He always had a fascination of wolves. I took him to cute little town in Canada where we spent time in a quiet little cabin and each morning, we wake up open the curtain and watch the wolves with their cubs play in the snow. I would just watch him smile so beautifully looking at the wolves" Magnus said as he was thinking about his time with Alec. Magnus looked at the cub who was waiting patiently for him to finish his story. "You know, I my 300 plus years I have loved deeply and shattered within the same breath. I thought, I would be fine living this immortal life alone and unloved until I met Alexander who changed everything for me. For the first time in my life this love was different from any other person I have ever loved. But of course, my insecurities will not allow me to forget the past betrayals and for that simple fact I made the biggest mistake of my life." 

The cub stood up and wagged his tail and pushed his nose under Magnus's chin as to give him comfort. For a moment he almost felt like Alec was around him listening to a very private conversation. A tear rolled down from the corner of his eye. The cub licked his cheek and snuggled under his neck. Magnus gave a teary smile, "You see I thought Alec betrayed me by not telling me the truth about the soul sword. I just jumped to conclusions thinking that Alec was just like my exes. I didn't even give him the benefit of the doubt. My insecurities got the best of me. Everyone around me would always tell me that Shadowhunters will always choose their own kind and I actually believed it. So, I decided to do the same thing to him." Tears continued to stain his face. "When I walked away from him, I would never forget the devasted look in Alec's eyes. I should've given him a chance to explain and now I don't know if we can ever get the chance to fix our shattered hearts. Raziel, I miss him so much and to be honest I never stopped loving him" Magnus choked. I don't even know if Alec would want me back after the way I treated" Magnus tearfully choked. 

Suddenly Magnus held his head as another memory flashed. The wolf cub ran to the guess room and made a desperate howl. Cat turned and ran out the room when she saw Magnus was having a seizure. "Michael, I need your help" Cat yelled. Michael, Max and Maryse came out of the room and froze. Michael quickly walked over and knelt down next to Magnus. "Max, Cat, I need you to hold him down" Michael commanded. Maryse covered her mouth as she watched her best friend, youngest son and the angel work to stabilize Magnus. Michael put his hands together. As he closed his eyes, everyone watched as he forming different hand symbols while he began to glow. Michael opened his ice blue eyes and let out a slow breath. "Hold him down" Michael said. Cat and Max did as they were told. Michael laid his hands on each side of Magnus's temple and pushed thru his angelic magic. Magnus arched his back and began to scream in pain trying to break free from the hold. Maryse held back her tears and looked back at the guestroom. Inside the guestroom the wolf cub watched as Alec squeezed the sheets forming into a fist. Tears ran down the side of his face as Magnus screams continue to feel the apartment. The apartment became eerily silent Michael stood up, "Magnus is resting now, this spell is hard to break so I thought it was best to infuse a little more angelic magic along with Alec's" Michael whispered. Max was stunned to hear that his big brother has pure angelic magic.

"If we tell him the truth, he may not believe us without proof, right?" Maryse asked.

Max felt the rune under his wrist and smiled. "I have a feeling that my brother may have a way to prove Dot's betrayal" Max said smiling. Maryse was to ask how her youngest knew this, Magnus started to wake up. Cat helped him to sit upright on the couch. Magnus still had his eyes and rubbing the back of his neck. When Magnus finally opened his eyes, he was staring at concerned faces. "Uh, what happened? I mean I don't understand what is happening to me" Magnus was panicking inside. Cat bit the inside of her lip but then an idea popped in her head. "I am not 100% sure, but I have reason to believe that someone cast an ancient Encanto spell, I uh, just don't know who casted" Cat said bowing her head down. 

Max caught on what Cat was doing and smiled. Magnus sat there frozen with the diagnosis. Magnus was trying to wrap his head around the fact that someone has placed a spell on him. Magnus was brought out of his thoughts he felt a loving squeeze. He turned and looked at Cat, Maryse, Max and Michael. Max knelt in front of Magnus and laid his hand on his knee. "Magnus, what is the last thing you remember? It could help us with a timeframe" Max asked sincerely. Magnus rubbed the back of his neck to think. A few w minutes passed with no response. Suddenly Magnus stopped rubbing the back of his neck. "The last thing I remember, was being at the Institute when you were injured. That was the moment when Alec and I went our separate ways. At the same time, we found out that Clary stopped Valentine from raising Raziel to make that God awful wish" Magnus whispered in shame.

Max and Cat looked at each other in shock. Magnus looked at both Cat and Max confused. His gut telling him that he was not going to like what happens next. Max turned and looked at Magnus and spoke, "If what you sad was true then you have been going thru this since the celebration at Hunter's Moon which happened 3 weeks ago." Magnus eyes went wide. "Why would someone do that to me" Magnus yelled quietly. "Because someone doesn't want you to know whatever happened that night" Cat said matter of fact. 

Magnus abruptly stood up; Max and Catarina stood up with him concerned. Magnus felt his power wanting to leash out and cause some destruction. Magnus didn't want the people that he deeply cared about to see him in this state. "I need to be alone" Magnus whispered as he waved his hand to form a portal. Max was about to protest when he sees Cat shaking her head no. Magnus's eyes soften when he saw the worry look on Max's face. Magnus laid his hand on Max's shoulder, "Max don't worry I will be fine. I just need to go somewhere to unleash my power, and I don't want to hurt anyone because I have already hurt someone that I love deeply" Magnus choked back his tears. Max had tears in his eyes nodded in acceptance. Magnus looked at Cat and turned to look at Maryse and Michael, "Thank you for helping me tonight" Magnus didn't wait for a response and disappear into the portal.

Maryse walked over and placed her hand on Max's shoulder. "Honey, it's been a long day. Why don't you go back to the Institute and get some rest. Don't worry I won't be long" Maryse didn't leave any room to argue. Max nodded and turned to Cat, "You guys will let me know if there is a change in Alec's condition, right?" Max didn't really want to leave, but he knew that his mother was right. "I will let you know if there is any change" Cat said to reassure Max's fears. Cat knew deep down Max is still blaming himself for what happened to Alec. She only hoped that when Alec wakes up, he could reassure Max himself.  "I will see at the Institute, Mom and Michael thank you again" Max whispered.

"I am honor to helping out you and your family" Michael bowed. Max bowed his head back to Michael. Max walked over and hugged and kiss Maryse on the cheek. Cat formed a portal to the Institute for Max. Max walked into the portal and the portal closed behind him. Maryse turned around and looked at Cat and Michael. "I am starting to think the Encanto spell has been casted longer than 3 weeks" Maryse said as she sat down and continued, "Remember Max revealed that my piece of shit of a husband had held Magnus captive at one time and Magnus's reaction alone spoke volumes." Cat was deep in thought, then stood up. "OMG!! that means Dot cast the spell then" Cat stood up and started to pace back and forth to gather her thoughts. Cat turned and looked at both Maryse and Michael. "Most Encanto spell can be used as either temporary or permanent fix to erase a person's mind. In Magnus's case, Dot used an ancient spell. She would have to cast the spell when Robert was in the Circle. The spell laid dormant in Magnus until the night of Alec's attack" Cat flopped on the couch in disbelief and Maryse was in a state of shock and anger at the revelation.

"Well until Alec wakes up, we have to hope that Dot does not do any other harm to Magnus" Michael said. Maryse realized there was nothing they could do because there was no counter spell for the Encanto. Maryse started thinking about all the evil things Robert has done not only to Magnus, but to Alec. Maryse felt like she failed as a mother to her first born. She didn't even recognize the changes in Alec. The more she thought about the angrier she got. Michael looked at the guestroom and smiled. "Maryse, you should go home and get some rest" Michael lightly touched her hand.

"Yeah, you're right, I should go. I just want to see Alec one more time before I go." Maryse said as she walked towards the guestroom. Cat stood up to follow her, but Michael stopped her. "What's wrong?" Cat was confused. Michael looked back at Maryse walking towards the guestroom and smiled again before looking at Cat. "Maryse is about to get a lovely surprise" Michael winked. "You m-" Cat wanted to run and witness the beautiful reunion. "Can we go peek, I mean I am one of Maryse's best friend and she will need me for moral support" Cat gave a mischievous smile. Michael was shaking his head with a huff of a laugh.

Maryse wiped her tears and opened the door to walk in the guestroom. Maryse was stopped in her tracks looking at a tall figure with black hair with silver streaks that looked untamed. The tall man was looking at the window with his arms fold. The figure was wearing soft white lounge pants and no shirt. Maryse could see the scars on the tall man's back. The man turned his head to the side when he realized he was no longer alone in the room. Maryse's tears started to fall, and her heart was racing when she watched the young man slowly turn around. His eyes went from hazel to blueish grey. A soft smile appeared across his face. "Hi, mom"

Chapter Text

Alec watched as New York came alive with bright city lights. Alec looked down at the wolf cub who was sleeping soundly in his arms. Alec doesn't know how long he has been unconscious, but he had a feeling it's been a while since the brutal attack. Alec closed his eyes and tried to control his breathing as flashes of that horrific night flashed in his mind. The cub felt his master's distress and looked up and licked his chin. Alec opened his eyes and smiled at the cub. "I'm okay buddy" Alec whispered. Alec looked back out the window while he ran his fingers through the cub's fur. Alec was bought out of his thoughts when he heard a sudden gasp. Alec turned his head to the side to see woman standing in the doorway. Alec slowly turned to look at the woman and gave a small smile, "Hi, mom" Alec whispered.

Maryse covered her mouth as she watched Alec's eyes changed from blueish grey back to hazel. "Alec" she stuttered. Alec set the cub down as Maryse ran and hugged her eldest son. Maryse hugged Alec like her life depended on it. Alec held his mother tight as she cried. He closed his eyes and breathed in the familiar scent of Japanese Cherry blossoms. Maryse stepped back and took a really good at her son. Physically Alec looked fine but mentally she was not sure. Through her tears she looked up to her son with loving eyes and held his face as to remember his features. "I am so sorry baby" Maryse choked out. Alec laid his hand gently on the side of his mother's cheek. No words were needed; he pulled her for another embrace.

"Alec" Cat whispered. Maryse and Alec looked at Cat who gave a tearful nod. Cat walked over and gave Alec the most comforting hug. Alec closed his eyes and gave her a tight squeeze. "Thank you" he whispered under the crook of Cat's neck. Cat smiled and rubbed the back of Alec's neck. Michael stood there watching the emotional reunion. Alec looked at Michael and gave an encouraging bow. Michael bowed back to Alec. Alec stepped back and sat down on the couch. Maryse and Cat sat on each side of Alec holding his hand. Cat waved hand to do a final scan of his injuries. "It looks to me you are physically healed" Cat said as she squeezed Alec's hand. "I still have some aches, which I can manage" Alec said. "I should call Max" Maryse was pulling out her cellphone when Alec stopped her. "Don't call him just yet, I want to surprise him myself" Alec smiled. 

Maryse nodded as she was rubbing his hand when she notices a faint glow on his wrist. Alec watched his mother inspect the mysterious new rune on his wrist and smiled. "When did you get this? I have never seen a rune like this before" Maryse was confused. Cat, Alec and Michael smiled. "Mom, Raziel gave me this rune. I can't tell you the true meaning just yet, because I have to speak to Max first" Alec stated. Maryse didn't want to push, she thought Raziel must have his reason as to why he gave Alec a special rune. "Mom, I know you want to know who attacked me that night, but I am not ready to talk about it right now, because we have a more pressing matter to deal with" Alec stated. 

"Has Raziel told you about the sword?" Michael asked. Everyone looked at Alec as he picked up the wolf cub and started to rub his fur. "Yes, that's why I came back." Alec looked down at the cub. Maryse recognized the expression on her son's face which almost looked sinister. He was coming up with a plan to deal with the Clave, Dot and Valentin. Alec looked at Cat, Michael and his mother. "You are all aware the three mortal instruments combined can summon Raziel" everyone nodded except for Michael. "But what you don't know is Valentin will need to make a sacrifice. He will need pure Nephilim blood. But what Valentin and Jonathan don't know is the soul sword has a hidden fail safe. If fallen into the wrong hands, let's just say the sword can literally end the world as we know it" Alec waited to continue. "What do you mean?" Maryse asked.

Maryse and Cat noticed that Alec was looking at Michael. Michael gave a slow breath and spoke, "In order to call on Raziel one has to be worthy to meet his presence" 

"Raziel will deem both Valentin and Jonathan as unworthy and with that Valentin and Jonathan will bring forth the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse" Alec stated. Maryse and Cat's eyes went wide with fear and concern. Cat looked at Michael who nodded in agreement. "Valentin will think that he can control the Four Horsemen into doing his bidding but will soon learn a mere mortal won't have the power to control them even if he thinks he can wield the soul sword "Michael stated as he sat across to them.

"How can this be prevented?" Maryse asked. She was horrified to know no one will be safe if Valentin is able to find all three of the mortal instruments. She felt Alec squeeze her hand. "Mom what I am about to tell you is going to upset you" Alec whispered. Maryse felt her heart was going to drop once she hears what her eldest was about to say. "In order for my rebirth to be complete, Valentin has to fail in summoning Raziel and trigger the apocalypse." Alec could tell that Maryse and Cat were both still concerned.  Alec knew he would have to explain how his rebirth fits into all this, but he needed to talk with Max and explain the matching rune they share. Alec turned to face Cat and took her hand. "I know that you are both worry about me, but it will all make sense once we go back to the Institute."

"Okay, Alec, we trust you" Cat whispered. She knew Alec has come up with a plan to protect the entire shadow world. Cat couldn't help but think about Magnus. Cat looked at Alec to see where his mindset was at regarding his ex-boyfriend. "Um, Alec about Mag-" Alec interrupted her knowing what she was thinking. "Don't worry Cat, Dot will be dealt with soon. How is Magnus?" Alec was concerned about Magnus. Alec couldn't blame him for thinking the way he did. The love he has for Magnus is something he was willing to fight for. But he had to show Magnus proof of Dot's manipulation. Suddenly Alec smiled and looked around the room. "I have a way to show Magnus the truth of Dot's manipulation. I know it might be dangerous but it's concrete proof that Dot did something to him" Alec stated.

"What do you have in mind?" Cat asked. Alec looked between Cat and Michael, "I need one of you to do a memory orb on me from the night at Hunter's Moon. I know that Magnus is not going to believe me when I tell him that I was there to speak to him that night at Hunter's Moon. I need for him to see it for himself. I need for him to know and he could decide for himself if he wants to fix our relationship" Alec pleaded. Cat and Michael understood, this is the only way to show to Magnus and to anyone else that Alec was actual there that night before the assault. "With your memory and Max's evidence that the Clave gave Valentin the soul sword, will silence the non-believers" Cat reassured him. Maryse rubbed Alec's back for comfort, "We stand with you honey" as she kissed her son's temple. Alec closed his eyes and lean into his mother's embrace. 

Few days later Max laid across his bed admiring his special rune. He couldn't help to think of his big brother Alec and praying that he will be okay. For a while, Max knew Sebastian/Jonathan was trying and failing to get close to him, so he could get any information about Alec's return and the location of the death mirror. Max wanted to know who else beside that bastard was involved in Alec's brutal attack. Max knew he couldn't handle Sebastian on his own, because he was not sure if he was just a regular demon or something more powerful. Max bolded up his fists in anger as he thought how his other siblings along with the selfish redhead and Simon on the way they treated Alec. Max was bought out of his thoughts when he heard someone knocking on his door. Max got off his bed and opened the door and frowned when he was facing Jace.

"What do you want?" Max walked away from the door and sat on the edge of the bed putting on his combat boots. Jace could feel Max distancing himself from him and Izzy as of late. "Are you still anger with us about how we treated Alec?" Jace said annoyed. Max rolled his eyes at his brother and looked up at his brother. Max stood up and stood toe to toe with Jace. He didn't care if Jace was one of the best soldiers in the Institute. Max knew of a better fighter, but he was in a medical induced coma trying to heal. Max glared at his older brother, "You damn right I'm mad. You humiliated him in front of the entire down world that night at Hunter's Moon" Jace was taken aback and confused. "What are you talking about? Alec was never there and if did he show up he deserved whatever he got coming to him" Jace growled folding his arms. In a fit of rage Max punched Jace squared in the jaw. Jace staggered back holding his jaw in shock. Izzy and Clary walked in looking at what was unfolding.

"What the hell is going on?" Izzy demanded not understanding what was happening. Izzy looked at her baby brother who turned. His eyes flashed from silver grey back to blue. Max was furious at them. He turned and glared at Jace and pointed at the three of them, "You don't deserve to be his parabatai! You three just left him there" Max yelled. Izzy, Clary and Jace looked confused and shocked. Before Izzy could ask, Sebastian walked in curious about the tension. "What's going on?" Sebastian stood close to Clary. Clary turned and looked at Sebastian, "Uh, we are not sure" Clary said looking perplexed at the current situation. Before Clary could elaborate, Max spoke up, "Why are you here Sebastian?" The look Max was giving to Sebastian made everyone in the room feel uncomfortable. "Uh, Maryse asked for you four to report to the Ops center" Sebastian acted like he was nervous around Max. 

"You know what, I don't have time for this shit" Max growled. He shoved both Izzy and Clary out of his way and walked out of his room. He needed to walk away from the four people who caused Alec so much pain. Jace rubbed his check and rushed after him followed by Izzy, Clary and Sebastian. Jace finally caught up with Max. He stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes wide. Izzy, Clary bumped into Jace. "What the hell Jace" Izzy mumbled. "Alec" Jace whispered. Everyone looked towards the entrance. Max looked at the shocked facial expressions of Jace, Izzy, Clary and Sebastian. The Ops center was in complete silence. Max felt the rune on his wrist pulsate. Max slowly turned towards the entrance to see four figures standing at the entrance.

Maryse stepped to the side as the figure alongside a full-grown white wolf with blueish grey streaks stepped out of the shadows. Max felt the tears welled up in his eyes staring at the figure before him. Max ran and slammed into the figure arms and just let the tears fall under his neck. "Alec" he choked out like it was a silent prayer. Alec closed his eyes and squeezed his baby brother tightly. Maryse watched two of her children embraced. Maryse held back her tears and tried not to get to emotionally because she still didn't know who attacked Alec. Cat laid her hand on the lower back of her best friend and smiled. 

Alec gave a comforting rub on Max's back. "You're not dreaming Maxie" Alec whispered. Max smiled under Alec's neck. Sebastian was raging with anger seeing Alec healed and not broken. He looked over at Raj and Ryan who were in a state of shock as well. Sebastian turned back and saw Alec looking right at him with a sadistic smirk, Sebastian couldn't decide if he should be worried. Sebastian just thought to himself, that Alec was a weak Nephilim and he would need to break him again and maybe with some more help this time around. Sebastian was bought out of his thoughts when Clary touched his shoulder. "You, okay?" Sebastian nodded his head yes as he turned and saw both Max and Alec staring him with an unreadable look that he could not decipher.

"Alec you're finally back from London" Izzy said breaking the tension in the room. Alec looked around at the audience that gather. Ignoring his sister, he looked at Andrew. "Andrew, please inform all shadow hunters that is currently on patrol and have them report back to the command center immediately. I have something to announce" Alec commanded.  Andrew nodded and walked away to complete his task. Alec saw Lydia walked up and smiled. "Mom, can you and Lydia contact all the representatives from the Clave and Down world to be present within the next hour?" Alec asked. Maryse and Lydia both nodded and walked away. 

Izzy was hurt that Alec was ignoring her. "Alec is there anything you would like for us to do?" Izzy softly asked. Alec turned and looked at Jace, Izzy and Clary. Alec dropped his head down a gave out a sarcastic laugh. Alec walked over with Max, Cat and Michael in toe. Alec folded his arms and observed his surroundings before speaking to Izzy, Jace and Clary who looked nervous. "Come to think of it since, you three are not out on an unsanctioned mission. You three, I mean you four could go to a corner bash me behind my back as I am not a good leader" Alec growled. Max smirked as he watched the trio faces went pale. 

Jace tried to get close to Alec when the wolf growled standing in front of Alec. Max realized the cub and the wolf were one in the same. "Alec is this?" Max pointed at the wolf. Alec looked down at the wolf and smiled who was still growling at Jace. Alec rubbed the wolf on his side. "Max, say hello to Shadow" Alec said looking at the wolf. Max knelt down and the wolf nudge him with his nose. Jace to get a feel out his bond with Alec. Alec turned and tilted his head to the side. Alec unmuted his bond slightly and watched Jace collapsed to his knees holding his side. "You might want to take Jace to his room. Max, Cat and Gabe, please come with me please?" Alec asked as he walked past Clary, Izzy and Sebastian. "The rest of you get back to work before the briefing" Alec commanded. 

Izzy and Clary helped Jace back to his room and laid him across his bed. Sebastian watched standing in the doorway. Jace couldn't stop the tears from falling. He was breathing heavily. Clary and Izzy looked concerned. "What happened to him?" Clary whispered. Sebastian walked over and stood next to Clary. "He is going to be okay Clary" Sebastian acting like he was reassuring her. Jace slowly sat up still holding his side. "Jace are you alright?" Izzy asked. Jace closed his eyes and shook his head no "Alec unmuted our bond briefly. He has so much rage I could barely breath" Jace whispered. Jace realized the emotions that Alec was holding back was a ticking time bomb waiting to be unleashed. But Jace couldn't tell Izzy and Clary about another powerful sensation he felt. He didn't fully trust Sebastian since he arrived at the Institute. Jace looked back at Izzy and Clary, "We need to talk to Alec" Jace stuttered. Jace stood up too fast and lost his balance briefly. Izzy and Clary grabbed him to keep him steady. "Okay, let's go look for Alec" Clary whispered. 

Meanwhile......

Alec, Max, Cat and Michael walked into the director's office. Alec closed and locked the door. Max watched in amazement soft blue grey glow around Alec's hand as silver barrier wrapped around the office. Alec turned around his eyes turned ice blue. Alec scanned around the office and smirked, with the wave of his hand miniature listening and camera devices floated in the air and landed in the palm of his hand. Alec closed his fist, and a silver flame glowed around his hand destroying the listening devices into black ash. Alec let the ash fall on the floor. "WOW! that is cool" Max was amazed. "Let's just say when I was with Raziel I was gifted with some upgrades" Alec said rubbing his hands together. "Now that we don't have anyone listening" Alec looked at his younger brother and smiled. Before he could continue Max interrupted him.

"I am sorry Alec. This is all my fault." Max had his head shaking in defeat, "If I hadn't pushed you to go to Magnus that night, you wouldn't be-" Alec grabbed Max and held him tightly. Max couldn't hold back the tears any longer. Max wrapped his arms around his big brother and held him tight. Cat choked back a tear watching the Lightwood brothers comfort each other. Alec placed his hand on the back of Max's hair and closed his eyes and kissed his forehead. "Maxie, look at me please" Alec quietly pleaded. Max looked up to his brother's eyes and he didn't show no resentment just love. "None of this is your fault. You could not have known that I would be ambushed and attacked" Alec allowed Max a moment to digest what he just he said. Alec placed his hand on Max's shoulder and looked at him lovingly. "I want to you know that I don't blame you for what happened to me. I blame those whose decisions has changed me forever and I promise you that they will all pay dearly." Alec thought to himself that once he deals with the threat of Valentin, he will focus his attention on his attackers.

Max noticed a glow on Alec's wrist and realized it was the same rune he had on his right wrist. "You have the same rune as me" Max was surprised. Cat and Michael smiled. Michael walked over and stood next to Alec and Max. "Remember when Alec was in a coma and I told you that Raziel only gives this rune to the most loyal?" Michael asked.  Alec looked at Cat who was smiling with pride knowing the question Alec was about to ask his younger brother. "Yeah, I remember you said that rune would protect from the evil that larks inside the Institute" as Max was replaying the conversation he had with Michael a lightbulb went off his head and looked Alec who had a shy loving smile. "You said when my brother wakes up, he will have an important question to ask me" Max whispered looking at Alec.

"I do have an important question for you?" Alec rubbed the back of his neck. "Would you be my new parabatai?" Alec asked with a slight blush. Max shocked and excited that his brother has asked him to be his new parabatai, but then became confused. "Wait, aren't you already bonded with Jace?" Asked Max. Alec took a slow breath and nodded his head. "It's true that Jace and I share a soul. But after with everything that has happened, Raziel has decided that Jace is no longer worthy to my parabatai." Alec turned his and Max's wrist to show their special rune which started to glow. Alec was about to continued when Max gave him the biggest hug. Cat smiled with tears witnessing the special moment.

Max didn't have to think about it. He stepped back smiling at his big brother. "Before you overthink, it will be my biggest honor to be your parabatai" Max beamed with pride. "But there is a catch" Alec stated. Max tilted his head to the side confused. "How do you feel about becoming immortal?" Alec blushed. Cat's eyes went wide at the realization. "It makes sense" Alec blushed and Max looked confused. "With Magnus's blood and the completion of your rebirth you will become immortal" Cat said thoughtfully. "If I can stand by my brother for the rest of my life, sign me up" Max stated. Alec was beaming to see his baby brother was willing to jump in the fire with him. "The only question I have is how are you going to get your soul back from Jace?" Max question. Alec looked at Michael and Cat and became serious. 

"Do you trust me?" Alec asked. Watching the determination in Max's eyes as they glowed soft blue. No words needed their rune pulsated with the answer. "Raziel and I have a plan, but it's risky" Alec looked at Michael, Cat and Max. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Alec waved his hand to partial remove the barrier and the door opened. Maryse and Lydia walked in. Maryse walked over and hugged Max and Alec tightly. "We notified everyone, and they will be here momentarily" Lydia stated. Alec nodded his head and walked around and sat at the desk. Shadow walked over and laid down next to Alec. Alec saw Jace, Izzy, Clary, Simon and Sebastian come to the door trying to enter, but an invisible force field block them from entering. "Alec, can we please just talk" Clary pleaded. Max looked at Alec and then back at the door. Max walked over; smirked as he closed the door. Alec ignoring the constant banging on the door, Alec snap his fingers and the banging stopped. "Now that we have some time before all hell breaks loose, what's the plan?" Lydia asked. Everyone looked at Alec as his physical appearance started to change. Silver and blue streaks appear in his hair. Alec leaned back and looked at the very people that he currently trusts with executing this plan. "In a nutshell. It's going to end with me destroying the Accords and the Clave"

Chapter Text

"It will end with me destroying the Accords and the Clave" Alec spoke with determination. Everyone in the room remained silent. Maryse stood next to her youngest son and spoke. "Whatever your plan is I will stand with the of you. But I want Robert" Maryse growled. Alec stood up and walked over to his mother and younger brother and hugged them. He looked over to Catarina, Michael and Lydia and smiled. "So, its settled then. Let's bring these sons of a bitches down" Alec commanded holding his mother's hand.

Two hours later........

Everyone gathered at the ops center. Magnus and Dot walked out thru the portal. Raphael walked over looked at his godfather with concern. "¿Estás bien, padre? No te ves bien (Are you okay father? You don't look good)" Raphael whispered. Magnus gave a wry smile, "I am okay, just being feeling off lately" Raphael didn't look convinced. Dot tried not to show that she was nervous given the fact Lydia invited all the warlocks to be present. Dot looked around and spotted Sebastian standing with Raj, Ryan, Sam and Jared. She felt uneasy when Sebastian turned and looked at her the same way he did the night at Hunter's Moon. 

 They watched as Michael, Max, Lydia, Maryse and Cat walked up and stood on the platform waiting for someone. Magnus felt a pull through his magic. He didn't feel like his magic was going out of control, it felt like he had an anchor. Dot saw Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon walking towards them. Jace looking dejected and depressed.  "Why the long faces?" Magnus asked. Jace was about to speak when they all heard yelling between the Clave, warlocks, fairies, vampires, werewolves and Shadowhunters. 

"Your kind is not wanted here, and we damn well don't need your filth here" Victor Aldertree growled. "Our presence was requested by Ms. Lydia" Merliorn said politely. "Whatever this meeting is about does not concern you" Robert was annoyed. Luke and some of the werewolves from his pack growled. "We have every right to be here unlike some people I know" Luke growled eyes changing to an alpha red. Suddenly Shadowhunters took a combative stance as their steles lit up, Vampires eyes red showed their fangs, warlocks took a stance ready for battle. "Go back in the shadows where you belong" James Blackthorn yelled. Chaos erupted. Maryse, Lydia and Cat was about to jump into action, but Max stopped them. "Don't" Max said quietly.

Magnus watched Max as he smirked watching the scene unfold thinking why Lydia, Maryse, the mystery gentleman and Max was not trying to stop the fighting. Magnus started rubbing his chest feeling a much stronger pull from his power. Dot looked concern as she watched Magnus stare at the platform. "Magnus, what's wrong?" Dot asked softly as she leaned close to him. Before Magnus could respond they heard a voice. 

"ENOUGH!" the voice boomed in the ops center. The voice was so powerful, the very foundation of the Institute shook, light fixtures and some of the monitors shattered. The Ops center went deadly silent looking around for the voice. Robert looked at Max and Maryse who showed no fear and stepped to the side.  Everyone watched in silence as a white wolf with blueish grey streaks walked onto the platform and growled at Luke's pack. Magnus, Dot, Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon watched in astonishment as Luke and his pack bend the knee to the mysterious wolf. "Izzy, where did that wolf come from?" Dot asked. Before Izzy could answer, they heard the voice echo again.

"Now that I have everyone's attention. Stand with your respective group" the voice demanded. Dot's eyes went wide as she watched Alec slowly walked up to the platform standing next to Max and Michael. Alec folded his arms behind his back in a soldier stance and glanced around the room. "Alexander, oh my God it was you" Magnus whispered realizing the injured hunter that Cat was talking about was his ex-boyfriend. 

Alec looked around the room, his face remained emotionless until he saw the five men who brutally attacked him and changed him forever. Imagines of that dreadful night flashed to the forefront of his mind. Alec felt his chest get tight as he stared at Sebastian, Raj, Ryan, Sam and Jared. Max followed the direction of what Alec was looking at. At that very moment, the pieces feel into place. Alec grabbed his arm and just looked at him. No words were needed, Max understood there will be a time and place to deal them. Max nodded his head and took a step back and placed his hands behind his back.

Alec looked back at the crowd in attendance. "First, thank you all for coming, but I will not tolerate any disrespect in my institute, do it again and you will be dealt with. I don't care who you are" Alec yelled looking towards the Clave members. Everyone was shocked into silence. Jace looked at Izzy, "Is it me or has Alec changed since coming back from London?" Jace whispered. "You might be right. Can you feel anything thru the bond?" Izzy whispered and looked at Jace who's face went pale. Jace was regretting muting his bond with Alec. Apart of Jace thought, Alec will look the other like he always did when he was being an ass to him. "I am starting to think I pushed it too far this time" Jace regretfully whispered.

"There are a few things I would like to say regarding what I learned during my time at the London institute. First and foremost, Valentine and Jonathan Morgenstern are very much alive and are looking for the third mortal instrument which is the death mirror" before he could continue Raj spoke up. "Well thanks to you he has the soul sword."

Alec glared at Raj arms still folded and Shadow gave a menacing growled that even Sam and Jared shiver in fear. "Since you mention the situation regarding the soul sword. The soul sword was never lost. The attack on the Institute was a distraction so the mole could give the sword to Valentine!" Alec yelled without looking at Robert and the other Clave members go pale. We don't know who the mole is, but we have evidence of the sword being given to Valentine, Andrew would you please"

Andrew displayed a video the night of the attack showing Valentine and cloaked individuals handing him the soul sword. Everyone in the room gasps in disbelief. Maryse watched the video and recognized the silver Rolex watch and glared at Robert. Alec spoke again, "We have yet to identify the culprit, but when we do, they will be dealt accordingly."

Everyone remained silent. "I discovered the location of the death mirror" Alec stated. Max looked at his mother and both smiled at each other understanding what Alec was doing. "The mortal mirror is Lake Lynn located in Idris" Alec informed the crowd. Alec heard the whispers and looked around taking a mental note there were still loyalist to the Circle. Alec wanted purposely announced the location of the mortal mirror, because he wanted Valentine and Jonathan to know.

**Flashback**

"Alec you really want Valentine and Jonathan to know the location of the death mirror?" Lydia asked surprised and confused. Alec nodded his head yes as he ran his hand thru Shadow's fur. "Yes, I want him to believe that he will succeed in getting in his plan of wiping out the entire down world. I will have to face Valentine and Jonathan alone. Valentine thinks he needs to sacrifice an archangel to raise Raziel, which is true, but we can't reveal that we have an archangel among us, Raziel and I decided to give Valentine misinformation on how to raise him. I am going to make it seem that a special kind of Nephilim blood will be needed to raise Raziel. Once I show the "special birthmark" the clave, Robert and Jonathan will know it's me"

Maryse did not like how the conversation was heading, but she could see the change of defiance in her son's eyes. Everything that her son has gone thru with her piece of shit of a husband and that dreadful night at Hunter's Moon, she could see that her sweet boy was forever changed. She folded her hand into a fist thinking of ways to torture her soon-to-be ex-husband. Maryse was bought out of her thoughts of chopping off Robert's dick when she heard Alec continue to speak. "More than likely Robert and Jonathan will report this information to Valentin and they will then plan for my kidnapping which I will allow to happen." Max understood in order for Alec to get his soul back from Jace and for him to become his new parabatai, Alec would need to die and reborn into a more power Nephilim and stop the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Max looked at his mother who looked concerned. "I don't like the fact you are going to use yourself as bait, but I trust that you know what you are doing" Maryse whispered while holding back her tears.

Alec walked over and hugged his mother. "Mom, I know that you are worried, but this has to be done. Besides my death and rebirth will serve another purpose" Alec stated. Everyone in the room looked confused expect for Michael. "The ancient Encanto spell on Magnus" Michael answered. "I don't understand," said Cat.

Alec turned and looked at his friend and spoke. "When I was unconscious and with Raziel, I learned when someone loses their memory, sometimes a disastrous event can force those memories to come to the surface. In the case of Magnus, Dot is forcing him not to remember what happened to him while in the clutches of Robert and the night at Hunter's Moon. I know that Magnus loves me with all his heart" before Alec could continue, Cat spoke "Magnus will have to witness your death and when that happens his powers will be unleashed breaking the spell and he will see thru Dot's manipulation."

"That is correct. But there is something else you all have to know." Alec leaned against his desk. "Valentine will no longer be able to wield the soul sword once its merges with the mortal cup and mirror. Only I will be powerful enough to wield the sword and with the help of Magnus's newfound power, we will not only put down Valentine but stop the Four Horsemen from causing any more destruction," said Alec. "But what about Jonathan?" Max asked. Alec stood silent, biting the inside of his mouth. Alec closed his eyes and heard Jonathan in his head "We are going to fuck you until you bleed. God your ass is so tight. I am going to make you, my bitch." Alec felt his chest getting tight as tears ran down his face. Max and Maryse both realized Alec was on the verge of having a panic attack. 

Michael walked over and laid his hand on his shoulder. A soft white light surrounded him and Alec, "You are safe, he will not hurt you" Michael whispered. Max watched as his big brother's breathing went back to normal. Alec bottom lip quivered and his opened his eyes. He hated to look weak in front of everyone. "Sorry" Alec whispered. Maryse walked over and hugged her son. "Sweetheart, there is no reason for you to apologize to us. You were..." Maryse couldn't bring herself to say it. "Gang raped, mama" Alec choked out. Max held his head down wishing that he could've saved Alec. "Big Brother, I want you to know beside Magnus, the very people in this room loves dearly and we will get through this no matter what" Max stated while giving his big brother a comforting squeeze on his arm.

Alec looked at his mother and brother, then looked at Lydia, Cat and Michael who nodded in agreement. Alec knew that somewhere down the line he will have to deal with his trauma, but he took comfort in knowing that he would not be alone. After a few minutes, Alec was able to compose himself and his eyes shifted from hazel to ice blue, "Once the threat of Valentine had been dealt with, Jonathan and his pals will be dealt with swiftly" Right now as much as he wanted to lock himself in his room and hide from the world, he couldn't. Millions of innocent lives depended on him to keep them safe.

**End of flashback** 

"While in London, we discovered in order for Valentine and Jonathan to summon Raziel to make his god forsaken wish, he will need the blood of a pure Nephilim with this special birthmark." as Michael spoke Max lifted a drawing of an angel wing surrounded flames. Alec facial expression remained neutral as he watched Robert, Aldertree, Blackthorn and Sebastian looked surprised. "Oh my God" Jace whispered with worry. Izzy and Clary looked at Jace whose eyes realizing the danger. "Jace what's wrong?" Clary asked rubbing Jace's back. Jace looked at his sister, "Alec has that birthmark" Jace whispered. Magnus and Izzy both turned to face Jace in shock. Izzy looked back at Alec, then back at Jace, "That means..."Izzy stopped mid-sentence when she looked at her older brother. 

Alec knew eventually someone ask the burning question of who had the special birthmark. Alec thought to himself this will be the perfect time to drop another bombshell to the down world community. Alec stepped up to face the crowd and folded his arms. "Before anyone ask who bears the special birthmark" Alec stated and waited for the right moment to make the shocking announcement. "It has come to my attention that some of you feel that I am no longer fit to lead this Institute" Alec's voice was cold and calculating. Alec watched Jace, Izzy and Clary faces go pale and lowered their heads in shame. Sebastian smiled thinking that his Alec was going to give him the Institute. Alec looked at Max and his mother who solemnly nodded their head in support.

Alec turned back around with anger in his eyes, "So with that being said, effective immediately I will be stepping down as the Head of the New York Institute" Alec paused as he heard people gasp with shock. Magnus was shell shocked at the announcement. Magnus knew Alec worked so hard to get himself under the shadow of his parents and became the head of the New York Institute. Magnus looked at Izzy trying not to cry. "Oh my God, what have we done" Izzy chocked out. Izzy watched as Shadowhunters and Downworlders alike protesting Alec's decisions while others welcome it. Suddenly those haters were silenced when Shadow gave a menacing howl. The room became silent once again. Sebastian was about to walk to the podium to take his rightful place as the new head of the Institute when Alec spoke with dominance.

"I understand that some of you are upset about me stepping down and I greatly appreciate your support, however, this is what is best for the Institute for right now. With that being said, effective immediately Lydia will be the new head of the New York Institute. I expect you all to show your respect to her" Alec commanded as he watched Sebastian become upset at the announcement. "You will pay for this" Sebastian thought to himself while he stared at Alec. 

"Alec why are you stepping down?" Luke asked. Luke was disappointed in Clary being so selfish in her pursuit to find her mother Jocelyn. Because of her selfish actions all of the Alec's hard work he had done in bringing everyone together was in vain. "Luke to answer your question, I thought it was best to step down because I will put the Institute in danger again" Alec stated. Everyone watched as Alec lifted his shirt and showed the special birthmark on the left side of his waist. The room gasped in shock. Raphael kept his face neutral and looked at Izzy, Jace and Clary who were standing next to Magnus and Dot. "I guess you three finally got what you wanted" Raphael whispered.

"I will go into hiding to avoid being capture by Valentine" Alec spoke softly. "We decided it was for the best" Alec continued. Alec looked over at the Clave envoy, who looked uncomfortable. Alec dared them to say anything, because they realized with him stepping down, he will no longer be bound by the accords, so they could not tell what Alec had in store.

"Thank you for standing with me during this difficult time, but I truly believe if we work together, we can finally rid this world of Valentine, Jonathan and any and all active Circle loyalist. Lydia will discuss counterattacks against the Circle. Everyone is dismissed" Alec commanded. Alec and Max walked down from the platform to greet their guests. Maryse watched in amazement as some Downworlders offered sanctuary in their realm because they didn't want anything to happen to Alec. Alec turned and gave an assuring nodded to his mother. Magnus watched Alec and Max talk with Raphael, Dot tugged at his sleeve. "Magnus what's wrong, maybe we should..." Dot spoke softly. 

Magnus watched Jace, Izzy, Clary followed by Simon and Sebastian towards Alec in lightning speed. Magnus was more determined than ever to speak with Alec. "I need to speak Alexander alone"

Chapter Text

Alec stood in-between Max and Catarina with Shadow at his feet. Alec closed his eyes and took a deep breathe relaxing his nerves a bit. He felt a comforting hand on his shoulder which grounded him. "Alec how are you holding up?" Cat whispered. Alec opened his eyes and smiled, "I really need a shower" before he could continue to answer Cat's question, he saw Robert from the corner of his eye storming towards him with his hand raised like he was about to hit him. Jace, Izzy and Clary froze in their tracks watching Robert's attempt to hit Alec. Before Robert could successfully connect his fist to his eldest son's face a hand grabbed his wrist. "How dare...." Robert was about to demand when he saw the person stopping him from discipling his son. Robert's face went pale when he stares into the fierce eyes of his wife Maryse.

With murder in her eyes, she stood in-between her soon-to-be ex-husband and Alec. Even though she was a Lightwood by name, she was a Trueblood, and her lineage throughout history proves just how fierce they can be. Maryse just glared at Robert with disdain malice. "Touch my son and I will fucking kill you where you stand" Maryse growled. Maryse turned and glared at the members of the Clave and dared them to say something. While still squeezing Robert's wrist Maryse spoke, "I don't need to remind you I maybe a Lightwood, but I will always be a Trueblood. Oh, and there was a reason why I was once I was second in command in the Circle which I am not proud of when I was young and naive" Maryse said bitterly. Everyone watched as the Clave went pale and step back not saying a word. Catarina smiled proudly at her best friend knowing Maryse was young, and Robert coaxed her into becoming a member of the Circle. Now Maryse is fearless standing in defiance against Robert and the Clave. Victor tried to show his dominance and stepped up to Maryse in hopes of intimidating her. Before he could step into her 3 feet of personal space Victor was met with a powerful punch that sent him hitting the floor hard. Everyone stood in silence as they watched Michael/Gabe standing over Victor.

Victor glared at Michael, "Who do you think you are?" Victor stood up still holding his jaw. "I am making sure that you don't interrupt the lovely lady who is dealing with her bastard of a husband" Michael stated with a British accent. Alec and Max tried not to laugh as they saw their mother trying really hard not to blush. Max leaned over and whispered, "I wouldn't mind if mom and Michael/Gabe got together" Alec looked at his brother shaking his head. Alec turned slightly and saw Magnus standing next to Dot and Jace with a depressed expression. From looking at Magnus he could tell the spell that Dot has casted on him was affecting his health. "He doesn't look good" Alec whispered with concern. Cat and Max looked towards the direction and was shocked at Magnus appearance. Under the makeup, Magnus looked drained and has lost some weight. Alec was concerned for Magnus's well-being, and he needed to break the spell soon or it will be too late to save his beloved. Alec turned and looked at his mother with pride as she shoved Robert back.

She stepped really close to Robert and whispered in his ear, "I know what you did, and you will pay for it dearly" Robert eyes widen as Maryse gave a smirked and walked back over to Alec, Max, Michael and Cat smiling folding her arms acting innocent, "What, I didn't kill him yet" Maryse shyly spoke. Alec rolled his eyes at his mother's antics. Cat couldn't help but laugh at her best friend. "Only you Maryse" Cat said shaking her head. "I think it's best that we leave for now" Robert spoke to the other Clave members. "I couldn't agree with you more" Maryse standing fierce watching the portal open behind the Clave member. The members turned and disappeared into the portal not even daring to look back.

 As Alec turned and walked towards the Great Hall, Jace grabbed his arm. "What the hell Alec" Jace yelled. Alec saw a flash of Sebastian and Jared grabbing him violently as they dragged him back in that god forsaken back alley. Max went into action seeing the shock look on his big brother's face. Alec pulled his arm back and staggered back as Max shoved Jace with such force Jace bumped into Izzy and Clary. "Back the fuck off Jace!" Max yelled. Shadow stood in-between the trio and Alec letting out a menacing growl. Everyone froze in fear that the wolf was about to attack anyone who was a threat to Alec.

Magnus couldn't understand why Alec was on the verge of having a panic attack from a simple grab by Jace. Magnus instinct was telling him something was really wrong. For whatever reason he could not announce that Alec was the mystery shadow hunter that Cat was talking about that night in his loft and knowing they maybe Circle agents in the mist. Magnus knew without a shadow of doubt he needed to talk to his ex-boyfriend privately. Magnus was bought out of his thoughts when he heard Izzy speak. "Alec, were you serious about stepping down as the Head of the Institute?"

Alec glared at Jace, Izzy, Simon and Clary. At that moment Alec was so done and needed to unleash his anger because every selfish decision they made led him to lose the love of his life and be brutally rape and left for dead.  Alec bitterly laughed "Why do you even care. I mean you all got what you wanted right" Alec yelled. "Alec, what are you talking about? We" Jace was interrupted when Alec spoke again while pointing at Clary, "Since she bulldozed her way into our lives, you two decided to through caution into the wind and did whatever the fuck you wanted and the hell with the consequences which by the way I suffered for" Alec yelled hitting his chest. Michael saw Sebastian was about to walk in to see the commotion, with the wave of his hand the door to the Great Hall closed and an invisible sound barrier was placed. Sebastian tried to open the door and was forced back. "Damn you Lightwood" Sebastian growled to himself in frustration but then smiled wickedly when he came up with an idea. Sebastian turned and walked into the direction to Alec's room.

Alec was grateful for Michael for blocking Sebastian/Jonathan from entering, he had to deal with one crisis at a time. Alec turned and looked at Izzy, Jace, Clary, Dot and Simon. "My life became a living hell, because you couldn't keep your fucking dick in your pants and you" Alec pointed to his sister, "And you being Robert's perfect Babygirl, just rebel not giving a shit!" Alec then turned and pointed to Clary. "As long you got your way, you didn't give a flying fuck who got hurt" Alec yelled with tears streaming down his face. Izzy wanted to speak up, but she could tell that Alec wasn't done.

"I lost everything because of your selfishness!" Alec tearfully chocked. Maryse's heart broke for baby, she was so disappointed in Jace and Izzy thanks to Robert favoring them so much. Maryse looked at Magnus and who was equally heartbroken watching Alec fall apart. "Because of all of you, I lost everything, I lost the love of my life, and I was..."Alec stopped himself to reveal his trauma. Max walked over to his older brother with tears in his eyes. "This is all my fault Alec, I should've never convinced you to go to Hunter's Moon and tell Magnus the truth about the sword" Max whispered. Alec looked at the devastation in his baby brother's eyes. Alec just grabbed his little brother in a tight hug. Max closed his eyes and squeezed his big brother tight.

Magnus watched the emotional embrace and suddenly his eyes widen when he remembered what Max just said. "Max, I am confused. When did Alexander go to Hunter's Moon?" Magnus asked. Dot tried with every fiber her being not to look nervous. Catarina smirked watching Dorthea become nervous. Come to think of it she thought Max did that on purpose. Max and Alec broke from their embrace and looked at the shocked crowd. "Magnus I was at Hunter's Moon the night everyone was celebrating Clary as the savior of the Downworld. I wanted to tell you that Robert had threaten me with arresting you for treason if I told you the truth about what really happened with the soul sword. But I never got the chance because my lovely sister, brother and Clary humiliated me in front of everyone telling me that I was not wanted. I don't deserve to be loved or lead the New York Institute because I was a failure" Alec closed his eyes and wiped his face.

Jace and Izzy went pale when they saw the disappointment in their mother's face. Clary stepped up and glared at Alec, "That's bullshit Alec, you were never at Hunter's Moon" Magnus looked at Clary flabbergasted at her rudeness. Magnus looked at Alec who was annoyed with Clary. Alec bit his bottom lip looking around nodding his head. He looked over at Catarina and gently nodded. Cat smiled "With pleasure, Alec" Cat turned and looked at Magnus, Dot, Clary, Izzy, Jace and Simon. "I can prove that Alec was indeed at Hunter's Moon" Everyone watched as Cat laid out her hand and a floating orb appeared out of thin air. Inside the orb they watched a memory of Alec standing in the rain with tears in his eyes standing in front of Hunter's Moon. The memory flashed showing Clary, Izzy and Jace berate Alec as everyone gathered around and yelling at him to leave. Magnus watched himself just standing there watching Alec standing in the crowd looking defeated. Magnus eyes went wide when he saw himself agreeing to speak to Alec privately. The memory skipped showing Alec standing in alley waiting to speak to Magnus and abruptly went black. Cat purposely did not show that Dot casted a spell on Magnus and the defiant trio. She wanted Dot to stew in her fear, that once Magnus discover she not only manipulated the situation, but what her decision cost Alec that night. 

Max watched Alec's breath hitched as he knew what happened next when he was knock unconscious. Shadow rubbed himself on Alec's leg giving him comfort. Alec looked down at his wolf and smiled. Alec looked at his mother who walked over and laid her hand on his cheek and careful wiped his tear. Alec leaned into the soft caress of his mother's touch. Alec could tell that Magnus was confused what he just saw. "That's impossible, it has to be fake" Clary was annoyed.

Alec closed his eyes shaking his head. Alec opened his eyes to see Magnus staring right at him, "It's not fake, but I don't understand why I don't recall this ever happened" Magnus whispered looking at Alec and Catarina. Dot tried to stop Magnus who was slowly walking towards Alec and Cat. Magnus squinted his eyes rubbing his temple, "I don't think I was blacked out drunk. Why can't I remember?" Magnus asked. Magnus always knew he had a good memory. "Magnus, when you passed out a few days ago at my apartment, I ran a scan on you. I have reason to believe that someone has placed an Encanto spell on you" Cat watched Magnus looked back and forth at her than Alec.

Magnus staggered back in disbelief. "Impossible, why would someone do that, I mean Alexander was not even threat. Wait Vampires are the only ones who can cast an Encanto spell" Magnus was wrecking his brain that someone would betray him like that. Dot watched nervously as Magnus was made aware of the spell. "I have to do something, before Cat says anything else" Dot thought to herself. While everyone was distracted, Dot was about to cast a spell on Magnus to cause him to leash out at Alec and Cat. Dot wanted Magnus for herself.

Cat caught the sight of Dot's magic coming to life. She was getting ready to set a counterattack when she heard Alec yell. Catarina turned and saw Magnus's eyes rolled to the back of his head and his nose started bleeding. Alec caught Magnus before he collapsed on the floor. Cat ran and knelt down next to Alec who was holding Magnus in his arms. Izzy, Jace and Clary stood in silence. Cat scanned Magnus and became concerned. Alec picked up Magnus and stood up. Magnus instinctively snuggled into Alec's neck. "Cat open a portal I am taking Magnus to my room now. Max, Shadow come with me" Alec commanded. Cat nodded and portal opened. Alec adjusted Magnus in his arms and walked into the portal with Max and Shadow by his side. Cat turned and walked over to Dot. Dot nearly tripped on her feet as Cat got closer to her. "What you did to Magnus is unforgiveable. Be ready for the fallout, because Magnus will know the truth" Cat whispered. The threat sent a shiver down Dot's spine as she watched Cat disappear into the portal.

Alec walked thru the portal into his room carrying Magnus in his arms. Alec froze when he saw an uninvited guest in his room. Sebastian standing against the wall with an evil smirk, "I've been waiting for you"

Chapter Text

"I've been waiting for you" Sebastian/Jonathan smirked.

Alec froze staring at the man along with four other men, brutally raped him and nearly beat him to death. He should've died that night, but was grateful that Michael, Raziel and Cat saved him. He was also thankful for his mother and brother Max for standing by him thru everything. He felt pressure against his chest, and he realized why he felt heavy. Alec also felt the special ruin on his wrist pulsate. Alec realized he was not alone and begin to smile. Sebastian was taken aback that the fear in Alec's eyes disappeared. Alec watched as Sebastian's sinister smile disappear as he realized they were not alone in the room. Magnus groan in Alec's arms and snuggled closer to his neck and Max stepped out of the portal standing next to Alec.

Alec smiled from the inside as he watched Sebastian's smirked disappear. Sebastian rage grew when he saw Alec showed no fear. Before Sebastian could move a white flash slammed into him throwing Sebastian out of the room causing him to fall on the ground. Michael and Maryse approached the scene with Izzy, Jace, Clary, Simon and Dot not too far behind. They saw Shadow standing on top of Sebastian growling. Max stepped out of the room glaring at Sebastian. Max looked back at his brother who was laying Magnus on the bed and Cat stepping out of the portal. Alec stood up and looked back at Max and nodded his head. Izzy and Jace watched as Max was looking back in the Alec's room. Max then glared at Izzy, Jace, Clary, Simon and Dot. "Gabe/Michael, Alec and Cat need your help, Magnus doesn't look good" Max stated while still glaring at Sebastian.

Michael squeezed Maryse's shoulder and walked into Alec's room to assist the situation. Max never looking away from Sebastian, he smiled as he watched Sebastian become scared as Shadow continued growling at the demon. Before Max could speak, he heard Clary's annoying voice. "What the hell is going on?" 

"Yeah, Sebastian hasn't done anything wrong" Izzy speculated. Max turned and glared at his older sister. "If you only knew." Max hinted and then continued while pointing at Sebastian, "If you must know. This person is not the real Sebastian." Everyone was looking at Sebastian in disbelief, they did not believe Max's accusation. "Shadow, show them who he really is" Max commanded.  Sebastian tried to break free from Shadow's powerful grip, but the wolf was too powerful. Shadow began to glow a luminous color of blue, white and silver. Everyone watched as the glow surrounded Sebastian as he began to scream when the angelic power began to breakdown the Sebastian's glamour. Shadow stepped backed and walked over to Max.

"Like I said this is not the real Sebastian." Max said. He looked at Clary, "It's your brother, Jonathan Morgenstern. Alec discovered that the real Sebastian was killed months ago" Max said with conviction. Izzy, Clary, Jace, Simon and Dot were in a state of shock when Jonathan's true face was revealed. Max turned towards two shadow hunters and pointed at Jonathan, "Take this piece of trash away to await transfer to Idris" Max commanded. Jonathan started struggling as the two shadow hunters picked him off the ground.

"You can't do this to me. Clary, tell them I'm Sebastian!" Jonathan yelled. Clary stood in silence and stunned to see her brother had deceived her all this time. Clary looked at Max who was daring her to say something. Clary was bought out of her thoughts when she heard her brother yelling. "Alec, I know you hear me in there. I'll get you again, I will break you just like that night at Hunter's Moon but worst!" Jonathan yelled and laughed as he was being dragged away. 

Max and Maryse looked at each other with concern. Izzy caught the interaction. "What did Jonathan mean about breaking Alec?" Izzy question. Jace tried to feel Alec thru his parabatai bond. Jace could barely feel their connection anymore. For a split second he felt panic from Alec. "It's none of your concern now" Max said coldly and walked back into Alec's room along with Shadow. Maryse looked at her other two children with disappointment in her eyes. "Mom, why is Max angry at us? We didn't do anything to him" Izzy said quietly.

Maryse just shook her head. "After the way you have treated your older brother, Max has every right to be angry with the both of you. And to answer your other question, due to your actions that night at Hunter's Moon caused Alec great harm at the hands of that bastard. Max has every right not to forgive any of you. Don't even ask me what happened, because it's not my story to tell. When Alec is ready, he will tell you." Maryse did not wait for a response and walked into Alec's room. Dot became extremely nervous because whatever happened to Alec that night was her doing. She looked at Izzy, Jace, Clary and Simon who stood in silence after Maryse putting them in their place. Dot needed to make sure that Magnus should never know that her selfish decision was the cause of whatever happened to Alec at the hands of Jonathan. She was bought of her thoughts when she heard Clary.

"I don't know about you guys, but I am going to find out what the hell is going on" Clary snorted and stumped towards Alec's room. Everyone froze as they watched the chaotic scene unfold in front of them. Alec was gently holding Magnus down on the bed who was having what seems to be a seizure. Cat's magic was working overtime trying to stabilize Magnus. Once Magnus stopped convulsing the room become eerily silent. "I need a few minutes" Alec said softly and walked towards the bathroom with Shadow close behind. Once Alec and Shadow was in the bathroom Alec slammed the door shut, which caused Izzy and Dot to jump. "Max closed the door please" Maryse asked looking at her youngest son. Max understood and closed the door; he then places a silent rune on the door. Maryse then looked at Michael, "Michael can you please scanned the room for any listening devices" asking him telepathically. 

Michael nodded and closed his eyes. Izzy, Jace, Clary Simon and Dot looked confused, because Maryse was just looking at Gabe/Michael. "Maryse what is" Jace was about to ask when Maryse lifted up her hand to silence him while watching Michael. The next thing they saw was multiple listening devices floating in the air and landed on the table. Izzy and Jace's eyes went wide. Maryse was raging in anger. Cat watched her best friend walked over to the table and grabbed one of the listening devices and spoke coldly, "I know you are listening, and listen well. Since you did not heed my warning from earlier, considered this as your days of reckoning is upon you. There is a reason why people can't afford to offend the Trueblood family and unfortunately there was a reason why I was once in second command of the Circle. I will end your very existence. Consider this your last will and testament" Maryse growled. Cat smirked at her best friend being so fierce, she knew from history the Trueblood bloodline was one of the most powerful families in the shadow world. Even though Maryse was young at the time, she owned up to her mistakes, but she never forgot where she came from. She watched her best friend grab the listening devices and threw them into the fireplace. Silence and shock filled the room as Maryse ran her fingers through her hair and turned to the crowd. "Now that has been taken care of, how is Magnus?"

Before anyone could answer the bathroom door opened. Alec walked out wearing fresh clothes. Shadow who turned back into a wolf cub was laying on his shoulder with his tail wrapped around Alec's neck giving him comfort. Alec looked at a concerned Cat. "I need to be alone with Magnus for a few minutes" Alec spoke softly. Dot was about to protest when Alec glared at her. "Let's give Alec a few minutes with Magnus and then I will explain everything" Cat stood and walked out the door. Maryse walked over to Alec and rubbed his arm up and down. She grabbed his hand and gave it a light squeezed. She leaned over and whispered, "Take your time sweetheart, no one will be listening in on your conversation" Alec was stunned to learning someone was spying on him, but then again, he was not surprised. "I see Robert and the Clave trying to keep tabs on me. They wanted to make sure I didn't tell Magnus they gave the sword directly to Valentine" Alec growled. "In all due time, they will pay for their deception, you have my word son. I love you." Maryse gave him a big hug. Alec closed his eyes and held his mother tightly. "Love you too mom" Alec whispered.

Max looked at his older brother and gave a comforting smile. Alec gave comforting smile back. Max walked over and gave his brother a light squeezed. Max turned to look at Izzy, Jace, Clary, Simon and Dot "You should step out a well" Max didn't leave any room for them to protest and walked out the door. Jace is in shocked and looked at Alec who was just staring at Magnus. Jace could tell that Alec's skin was very red and inflamed. Jace was about to approach Alec, he stopped when he heard Alec's voice. "I can't right now" Alec's voice was soft, but distant. Alec never taken his eyes off Magnus. Jace could tell that something was off with Alec and wanted to confront him about it. Jace decided against it, since Alec's main focus was on Magnus. Jace grabbed both Clary and Simon and walked out of the room. Dot still remained looking between, Alec, Michael and Magnus. Dot stepped up and looked directly at Alec. "Alec, let me take him back to his loft to..." Dot was soon interrupted, "To what, so you can cast that God awful spell on Magnus again and have a good fuck with him!" Alec growled and stared at Dot with disgust in his eyes. Dot went pale as she watched Alec walking towards her, his eyes flickered from hazel to blueish grey back to hazel green.

Michael watched as Dot become very fearful of Alec's aura. "You have no idea what you have done not only to him, but to me as well. Once the threat of Valentine and Jonathan has been dealt with, I was going to deal with you, but I will let Magnus have that honor." Alec looked back at Magnus and then back to Dot, "Now, I would like to be alone with Magnus" Alec whispered pointing to the door. Dot just stood frozen knowing that Alec figured out that she was behind the spell. She thought she really need to do something before Alec ruins her plan to get Magnus to herself. Dot straightens herself up and looked at Alec, "You already betrayed Magnus once, what makes you think he will believe anything you say?" Dot tried to sound confident and defiant. Both Michael and Alec stood side by side unimpressed. Alec folded his arms, "Let's just call it a hunch that Magnus will believe me without hesitation" Alec said with confidence. With everything that has happened between them, Alec was not 100% sure if Magnus would believe him without proof, but he could not afford to show his doubt in front of Dot. Alec saw the flash of concern in Dot's eyes and remained silent. Dot gave one last look at Magnus, before looking back at Alec. She couldn't let it slip that she was the one who casted the spell on Magnus. Dot was about to speak but decided against it because she didn't want to cast anymore suspicion on herself. Dot slowly walked out of the room. 

Michael was about to leave when Alec stopped him. "Gabe, please stay behind" Michael nodded and closed the door in front of the small crowd that was waiting to go back inside. Michael turned around and stood in front of Alec. "I need to tell you something about Magnus" Alec whispered looking at Magnus. Michael gave Alec his full undivided attention.  Alec reached in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper and gave it to Michael. "Raziel gave me a vision with this marking," said Alec. Michael looked at the drawing of a red sword with intricate symbols meaning for chaos. "This is the sword for the Horsman of war. Why did Raziel show this to you?" Michael asked looking back at the design. "Because Raziel showed me that one of the Four Horsemen is already among us, but he doesn't know it yet. The name is etched in the sword" Alec stated. Michael looked at the drawing again. When he discovered the name, he looked up at Alec in shock. "How's that even possible, are you sure?" Micael asked. Alec took a slow breath and nodded his head yes. "He is the son of one of the first fallen angels" Alec stated. Michael nodded in agreement while setting the drawing on fire. "It makes sense why you will be the only one strong enough to stop the horsemen especially the Horseman of War." Michael speaking his thoughts out loud. 

"That is why once all hell breaks loose, I am trusting you to protect my family because the Horsemen will have one thing in mind and that is destroy all life" Alec said. If Alec wanted to be vindictive, he let Izzy, Jace, Clary, Simon and Dot fend for themselves; but he couldn't because in his research he knew just how powerful the Horsemen can be if they united as one. For him to deal with Valentine and Jonathan, he will need the power of the four Horsemen to do it. He was bought out of his thoughts when he heard Michael. "Alec, I am concerned about one thing. Aren't you worried that Jonathan..." Michael didn't have the heart to continue because he could see the same worry look on Alec. Alec set Shadow at the foot of the bed and gently laid down on the bed next to Magnus. "I'll take my leave so you can have your privacy with Magnus. Just let either me or Max know that you are ready for everyone to come back in" Michael said and walked out the room closing the door behind him.

Alec closed his eyes and snuggled in the crook of his neck. Shadow snuggled in between Alec and Magnus wagging his little tail. A tear ran down the side Alec's face. Alec breath in the beautiful scent of his ex-boyfriend. He closed his eyes again and began to glow which incase him, Shadow and Magnus in a cocoon. Alec slowly wrapped his arm around Magnus waist and lowered his head on his chest to listen Magnus's heartbeat. Alec choked back tears. "Magnus, you probably can't hear me and maybe it's better this way. These last few weeks has been so difficult for me, at times I just want to give up. I keep thinking that Jace and Izzy are right when they said I don't deserve to be loved." Alec whispered squeezing his eyes shut. "That night at Hunter's Moon I wanted to tell you the truth about the soul sword. You see, I was investigating the night when Valentine attacked the Institute and the sword went missing. My gut was telling me that something was off, because I was certain the soul sword was safely secured. I guess the Clave got wind of my investigation and sent Robert. In his arrogance, he admitted the fucking Clave arranged to give Valentine the soul sword so their beliefs could finally be realized."

Alec took another slow breath and continue to tell his story. He figured this was the only way he could talk it out thinking Magnus wouldn't hear anything that he was saying. "I knew you needed to know the truth and warn the Downworld, but Robert threatens to have you arrested for treason and will enjoy torturing you. So, he forced me to keep quiet. I was still trying to figure out how to tell you in spite of Robert's threats, but I didn't know he had already set me up as the scapegoat and have everyone I love turned against me. Robert loved rubbing in the fact that you broke up with me and everyone at the Institute felt I was no longer fit to lead." Alec snorted and continued, "I went to Hunter's Moon to tell you the truth about the sword, but I wanted you to know that I will always put you first before anyone. That night I will never forget the looks on everyone's face of betrayal, distrust and hatred towards me." Alec felt his chest get tight thinking about that dreadful night.

Alec scouted closer to Magnus feeling safe. "I never got the chance to tell you that night, because I was ambushed by Jonathan and four other men. I fought so hard praying that someone would stop.... I heard your voice at the edge of the alley hoping you would save me, but I guess fate had another twisted idea in store for me." Alec sobbed for a brief moment. When you left with Dot, Clary, Izzy, Simon and Jace thru the portal I knew my life would change forever. I wanted you to be my first, but it was taken from me. I was raped." Alec choked out crying. Alec started to panic and stuttered, "They would call me Magnus's demon whore. As they took turns, I was beaten severely. I tried Magnus, I really tried to fight back, but I couldn't. My father would say that I was weak and useless. Here I was unable to protect myself from being brutally violated over and over again. There have been moments that I wished they would go ahead and just fucking kill me. I came to the decision since everyone thought I was such a disappointment, the world would be better off without me in it. But Raziel came to me and told me that I matter, and this world needs me; you and Max needed me."

Alec stopped speaking for a moment to calm down. "I am grateful for the angel, Cat and Shadow for saving me that night." Alec looked at Magnus who was still sleeping. The color on his beautiful face was coming back. "I guess this is the only way I can say what happened to me. I know when you wake up, you won't remember anything and that's fine. It's better this way. If people were to know what happened, they wouldn't believe me anyway, especially Izzy and Jace. They would say "What the mighty Alec Lightwood was ganged raped what a joke right, no one would want me. Part of me thinks, you wouldn't want me a filthy, broken and used up Nephilim. No matter how hard I scrub my body raw, I still feel dirty, the trauma is still there. I can't even process right now with the threat of Valentine on the horizon and your health. I can't dwell on my trauma right now; I need to focus on stopping the pending war. Magnus, even if you never wanted to get back together with me, just know that I am still madly in love with you. Maybe one day I will tell you what happened to me at Hunter's Moon." Alec finally felt exhausted talking about Hunter's Moon and what happened in the alley. Alec leaned over and softly kissed Magnus's lips and laid his head across his chest to listen to his heartbeat. Alec let the thumping of Magnus's heartbeat lulled him to sleep. What Alec didn't realize that someone was listening to his story, tears ran down the side of Magnus's face. Magnus slowly opened his eyes. His glamour disappears only showing golden cat eyes raging with fury and then soften. "I heard everything my love. I will help you make them all pay" Magnus whispered and he lightly ran his fingers thru his angel's hair. Magnus also didn't notice a faint mark of a red sword appeared and then disappear under his wrist.

Chapter Text

Everyone was patiently waiting to be let back in Alec's room, so they can find out how Magnus was doing. Dot was not only starting to get impatient, but nervous waiting to go back in to see Magnus. With Alec still inside with Magnus, she was not sure if Alec was going to tell Magnus the truth. Max watched Dot discreetly and smirked. Max knew that Dot should be nervous knowing she is the caused behind Alec's secret pain. Max was bought out of his thoughts when he felt a hand his shoulder. He turned and saw Cat. "I am going to check on Alec and Magnus" Cat whispered. Max nodded his head in understanding. Clary and Dot saw Cat walking towards Alec's bedroom door. They were about to follow her when Max and Michael stood in their way. Max folded his arms across his chest glaring at them. "If I were the two of you, I would just wait until Cat says it's okay to go back in" Max demanded. Izzy and Jace slowly pulled Clary and Dot back with a look of concern.

Meanwhile......

Magnus took slow deep breaths trying to push down his rage. In the mist of waking up he heard Alec was speaking to him. He listened intently the heartbreaking secret that the love of his life was carrying alone. He wanted to tell his angel, that no matter what he will love him even more, and he matter. Rage still boiled inside him knowing that Robert and the Clave not only gave the sword to Valentine but used him as a threat to keep Alec quiet. A tear ran down the side of Magnus's face remembering the most devasting secret. His beloved was brutally raped and nearly killed. Magnus's heart shattered thinking back at that night at Hunter's Moon. He remembered hearing someone was in pain and people laughing, Magnus now realized that it was Alec, and he just left him there. Magnus closed his eyes feeling the weight of that night. Magnus mind also wonders who in the hell casted the Encanto spell on him. If it wasn't for the Encanto spell, Magnus thought he could have saved Alec from a world of hurt. "Whoever cast the spell on me would beg for death, once I get through with them" Magnus thought to himself. Magnus was bought out of his thoughts when he heard the door opened. He turned to see one of his best friends, Cat.

Cat closed the door behind her and walked over to the bed. Cat could see Magnus was a little distracted. "Magnus" she whispered, "How are you feeling?" Cat could see that Alec was sleeping soundly. Magnus looked around and saw that he was being protected under powerful dome. "The blood that you needed from me that night, was for Alexander correct" It was more like at statement then a question. Cat sat down at the edge of the bed and touched the dome. The dome deemed her not a threat and expanded to cover her as well. Cat held Magnus's hand, "Yes, your blood was to help Alec heal from his injuries" Cat whispered. Cat was not sure if she should tell Magnus the true extent of his injuries. Cat decided against because it wasn't her story to tell. "Do you know who casted that God awful spell on me?" Magnus tried to hide his anger, but Cat could tell that Magnus was working to keep his power in check. "Alec has a theory. He wants to get proof before he can say who he believes placed the spell on you" Cat whispered watching Alec sleep. Cat and Alec already knew the culprit, they knew Magnus will find it hard to believe that someone close to him would betray him like that.

Outside of Alec's room, Max watched his older brother and sister who were talking to Clary, Simon, and Dot. Maryse walked over to Max and lightly squeezed his arm. Max looked at his mother. Before Max could speak, he felt his special rune start to pulsate. "Shit" Max said out loud gaining everyone's attention. Max looked at Michael who had the same look of concern. They both turned and ran to Alec's room as everyone heard a scream. Max opened the door and saw a chaotic scene unfold. The room was a complete mess. Alec was scrunched in the corner of his room having a serve panic attack. "What's going on?" Jace asked with a look of concern for his parabatai. Michael looked at the window and saw a serve thunderstorm was happening outside. Michael understanding why Alec was having a panic attack. 

"Alec was sleeping when it started thundering outside. Alec woke up abruptly. I don't think he knows where he is right now" Cat said looking at Maryse. Maryse looked at her oldest with concern. Magnus was just staring at his beloved protected under the dome with Shadow trying to comfort him. Alec was squeezing he's eyes shut. When the thunder struck again Alec scream trying to fold into himself further. Max was scared for his older brother. He knew what was happening. Max got upset and glared at Dot. If it wasn't for Dot's selfishness Alec wouldn't be suffering.

Everyone watched in silence as Magnus walked towards the protective dome. Magnus placed his hand on the dome. Magnus could feel his magic surge through the dome. Magnus slowly stepped inside to everyone's shock. "Magnus, please help my brother" Max pleaded. Magnus turned and looked at Max and nodded in agreement. Magnus turned and looked at his beloved. Alec was covering his ears trying to block out the noise. Magnus waved his hand to place a sound barrier inside the dome so no one can hear their conversation. Magnus knelt down and looked at Shadow whimpering. 

"Please, not like this" Alec pleaded with tears in his eyes. "No one is here to stop them" Alec whispered. Magnus's heart was breaking. Magnus closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Alexander, love it's me. Is it okay I touch you?" Magnus whispered. Alec hiccupped through his tears and nodded his head yes. Magnus softly took Alec's hand and placed it over his heart. "Follow my breathing and heartbeat my love" Magnus instructed. Alec did as he was told. "You are safe angel, no one will hurt you" Magnus whispered. "He will find a way to hurt me again" Alec whispered. 

Alec opened his eyes and watched Magnus's drop his glamour to reveal his cat eyes. "I'm so sorry" Alec whispered. Magnus only showed love in his eyes. "There is nothing to be sorry about" Magnus whispered. Alec didn't see any distrust in Magnus's eyes only love and concern. "You wouldn't want me if you knew" Alec said in a child-like whisper thinking Magnus did not hear it. But Magnus did hear Alec's last comment. Magnus waved for Max to come over to him and Alec. Everyone watched Max entered the protective dome still not understanding what was happening to Alec. For a moment, Jace felt fear thru their bond, but Alec closed off their bond immediately. Jace was at a lost as to why Alec wasn't asking for him.

Max entered the protective dome and knelt down beside Magnus and a still frighten Alec. "Darling, can you look at me for a moment?" Magnus asked. Alec slowly opened his eyes and looked at the man he loves more than anything. Magnus looked at Max and then back at Alec. "If you want a little more privacy, we can go home if you like" Magnus watched the wheels turning in his angel's head. "If you are nervous about being alone with me, Max will come with us for now if that will make you feel at ease" Magnus suggested. Alec head shot right up in surprise. He hated that Magnus was thinking he was a danger to him. Then it dawned on Alec, Magnus asked him to come home with him, not his loft. "Home" Alec whispered. Magnus nodded.

Alec started rubbing his arms roughly and started to pull at his shirt. "When we get home, I will make you a nice hot bath. How does that sound?" Magnus reassure his beloved. Alec looked over at his baby brother who nodded in agreement. "I think a change of scenery will do the trick. Besides I think Shadow and Church should meet" Max suggested and smiled at his brother. Through the special rune Alec could feel that Max was truly there for him no matter what and that him gave him strength.  Alec was starting to feel exhausted from him his panic attack. Alec soon realized that Cat was about to give an update on Magnus's health. Magnus realized what Alec was thinking. "That could wait for right no darling. My main focus is you right now." Magnus stated. While holding Shadow in his cub form, he looked back at Magnus. "If it's alright I would like Max to come home with us" Alec whispered.

Maryse stood next to Cat. "Will my son be okay?" Maryse asked. Cat was still looking at Magnus with Alec and Max. "It looks like Magnus was able to calm Alec down" Cat whispered. Everyone watched as Magnus formed a portal from inside the protective dome. Magnus and Max helped Alec stand up to walk through the portal. Magnus turned around and looked at Cat with his glamour down. Cat's eyes went wide staring at Magnus who turned and gently picked Alec in his arms and disappeared through the portal. "He knows" Cat whispered and looked at her best friend.
