Potions, Souls, and The Sun

Summary:

Two dreemurrs wake up. One exists in barren lands with barely any safety, one exists in a bright and tall city with refugees. A troubled alchemist wakes up, one whom exists in a mossy forest with a cozy atmosphere.

Our savior and their god wake up.

They only have one shot.

(WARNING!! This is really self indulgent, so the characters might (will) be ooc at times, and this is my first fanfic, soo yeah!! Anyways, enjoy!!!)

Chapter 1: NOTES + DEBATING!!!

Chapter Text

Okay, so some notes

First off, this is post true pacifist Frisk with an aborted genocide route, however Kris wakes up in the refuge during the events of Chapter 2, pacifist route. Their souls are not exactly connected, however Frisk was possessed during the actual aborted geno + true pacifist route, and Kris's soul stays with them in the Refuge. Varian is a goddamn nerd and he's going to ramble, so get ready for that!!! Btw Varian ends up in the Glen during Season 3 because his character is awesome during S3 and I imagine he still struggles to forgive himself so like.. Varian angst!!!

Second, I was inspired by the fanfic Ambers and Buttercups, go check it out, not sure if it's finished or not but it's awesome

Third, I am debating on if I should give Frisk the journal instead of having it be in the safe. I forgot if the journal is the only thing in the safe or not, but I think having Frisk be given the journal gives them this special aspect. Varian sticks around Calamus and Alula, so he's given a lot of information about the yellow feather, and he most likely tries to study yellow phosphor. Kris and the soul stick around Plight until they eventually join Varian, Frisk, and Niko.

That's all, leave suggestions in the comments!!

Chapter 2: The Savior awakens

Summary:

How does one react when they wake up in a strange place with only the memories of what they were doing earlier? Well, naturally, they freak out and start screaming and crying.

This little one, however.. surprisingly calm, for the most part.

No wonder they had been chosen as the messiah.

Notes:

So.. most of this chapter is just the very beginning of Oneshot in written form, but read it if you like!!! Frisk appears at the end of it.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

"H-..hello?"
The Messiah, or, rather, Niko, called out. The first words that they would speak inside of this strange and unfamiliar world that they had woken up with. They got up, stretching like a cat. They even looked like they were a cat. However, they weren't a cat, or a furry in denial. They were a human being with a beating heart, and most importantly, the savior of this world.
Niko got up and examined the room, feeling as though someone was guiding them along the way, however they weren't quite sure what was. They found a TV remote and picked it up.

They tried to examine the buttons, however it was too dark to see, so what they decided to do was go up to the window and try to use the faint light of the window to see the buttons. All of the numbers except zero, in a bright red color, seven, in a glowy blue color, eight, in a shiny yellow color, and six, in a grassy green color were missing.

After memorizing the colors for a moment, Niko was guided to the computer, where they were asked to input a code.

[ 0 7 8 6... ]

[ . . . INCORRECT. ]

[ 7 6 0 8... ]

[ Access granted. ]

Niko gazed at the screen with wonder as text boxes appeared on the screen.

"..." "You found me." The text boxes had no comforting welcome, like one would expect. More text boxes appeared, saying, "...Why? You're already too late. Not much of this world remains. This will be apparent once you go outside. This place was never worth saving." Niko frowned, feeling discouraged and confused. They didn't know what the weird computer was talking about at all! And not much of the world remaining sounded.. scary. The text boxes continued.

"...Do you still want to try?"

"Then, remember this:"

"Your actions here will effect Niko. Your "mission" is to help Niko leave. And most importantly.."

Another smaller text box appeared.

"You only have one shot, Mealsticks."

Niko blinked numerous times and stammered, although no words came out of their mouth. They were too bewildered to speak, and they had too many questions with no answers to ask. Wasn't Niko Niko? More importantly, who was Mealsticks?! Why would Mealsticks's actions affect them? Niko heard the sound of a door unlocking.

A yellow-skinned human who went by the name of Frisk whose body contained a human SOUL awoke in a bed inside of a structure in barren lands. They yawned and then yelped upon looking at their surroundings. This wasn't home! Where was Toriel? Where was Chara? And most importantly..

They got up, their boots clanking against the metal floor. They questioned..

"Where am I?"

Notes:

For those wondering.. FRISK WILL HAVE THE JOURNAL! However, they will be giving it to Niko at the end of the normal route so Niko can wake up with it in the (hehe spoilers) route. Also, this will have VERY inconsistent updating and I might not even finish it lmao

Btw.. someone like... made a similar fic.. (it was posted a day after mine... but like.. idrc lolz, they probs didn't see mine and idrm tbh lol- IF YOU SEE THIS, FANFIC CREATOR, HAPPY WRITING!!! :D) I'll leave the title in the comments once I find it... it has Siffrin AND Frisk, so ISAT and UT fans, enjoy that fic as much as you can!!! >:D

Chapter 3: Bearer of The Curious Soul Searches

Summary:

The child savior of the underground awoke with a fright
To barren lands in a broken world with the lack of light
Yet their fear doesn't keep them down
And their curiosity pounds
As they wander and search through the cold with only their hope

Chapter Text

Frisk turned their head left and right around the cold and cramped 'house'. Besides the broken computer terminals, all they could really spot was the bed they woke up in, and a broken piece of railing. They lifted up the piece of railing in hopes of seeing spiders. Unfortunately, there were none.

They didn't quite think of anything else to be of interest, so they decided to leave the.. trailer? Whatever it was.
Upon leaving, Frisk felt the ground. It felt sandy and rough, not to mention cold and unfamiliar. Nothing like The Ruins, or Snowdin, or Waterfall, or Hotland, or New Home, and especially nothing like The Surface. They roamed around, observing the damaged and powerless robots.

"No power," they said. "I wonder it there's any sort of generator, or anything similar to that. Maybe it's used to power these.. and maybe I could power these robots back on!" Frisk smiled and began running around, eventually running back to the 'house' they woke up in to grab the piece of railing.

Frisk kept running around the barren lands, spotting an area with what seemed to be mini-volcanoes of strange bubbles. It seemed foggy, too. They ventured in, and immediately began coughing. They shook and ran back, eyes watery and feeling all spicy.

"Ough.. my lungs.. need a break." They gasped while walking around with the railing piece in their arms. They tried to wipe away their tears, however the railing just ended up hitting their face due the fact that their arms moved it. "OWW!!!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Niko, after leaving the house they had woken up in, had instead found theirself inside of what could be considered as some sort of 'trailer' or building. All that was there was what was left of a computer terminal and a broken floor. They went outside, and observed the blue and dark scenery that was only lit up by the sun in their hands.

They had only been outside for thirty seconds when they had heard a loud "OWW!!!" come from someone nearby, someone who sounded like a young child, just like them. They ran over to the sound and found what seemed to be a twelve year old in a striped shirt with bright yellow skin, a shade similar to Niko's eyes and similar to the sun. The child was sobbing and they were covering some scratches on their head.

Niko went over to the child slowly and asked,

"Are you okay?"

Chapter Text

"Are you okay?"

Frisk's head shot up and looked at the cat looking child who asked the question. They sniffled and shook their head no in response. "..No."
The cat looking child covered their mouth at the bleeding scratch on Frisk's head. "Oh!.." They looked around for any sort of cloth, but all they could really see was their own scarf. The one their mama had knitted. They didn't want to ruin it, but they also didn't want Frisk to keep bleeding. They took off the scarf and wrapped it around Frisk's head. "Better?"

Frisk smiled at the warmth and nodded. "Much better, even if it still hurts a little.. I'm Frisk. Who are you? Why are you carrying a lightbulb? Are you a cat?" "I'm Niko!" Niko responded. "I'm not sure why I'm carrying a lightbulb, and no, I'm not a cat, I'm a person!" Frisk looked closely at Niko. "You could be a cat person!" "Huh?" "You know, like a person with cat features! Plus, you.. don't really seem to have any human ears." "They're under my hair!" "Oh yeah.. you could still qualify!"

Niko then looked around at their dullen, blue, and dry surroundings and frowned with confusion in their cat-like yellow eyes. "So, Frisk.. where are we? Do you come from here?" Frisk shook their head and frowned as well, saying, "No, not at all, I don't know anything about this place! I'm assuming you also woke up in a strange bed..?" "Yeah, I did! Then I found this lightbulb that lit up when I went up to it!" "Woah.. maybe if there's anyone here, they could explain to us what it means!" Frisk's expression became brighter as they exclaimed this. They were being helpful! Niko nodded and smiled softly as well. "Alright.." They responded.

Niko began following Frisk, and Frisk began following Niko. They both bumped into each other and Niko's grip on the sun tightened. Frisk giggled. "Right, who's following who again?" They inquired. Niko felt a strange feeling that made them want to lead the way, so, of course, they responded with an assertive tone. "I'll lead the way." They confirmed. Frisk and Niko both got up and Frisk began following Niko, with neither of them bumping into each other this time.
