Chapter Text
His body was gone.
After rebuilding, Lucifer found himself out back behind the new and improved hotel. He wanted to find Adam’s corpse to make sure he disposed of it. He didn’t need Charlie to see it anymore than she had to. Now was time for celebration after all and the body of the first man just lying around would ruin the mood.
Yet it was gone.
One of the cannibals must have gotten to him first, he thought. Yes, of course. After such an uphill battle of course the cannibals wanted to enjoy some of the leftovers. Some of the cannibals must have found Adam’s body and taken him back home. He’s probably in pieces on the plate of their Overlord and her fellow citizens as they continue to celebrate their win alongside mountains of fresh angel flesh. The thought made the slightest twist in his stomach.
Lucifer shook his head, quickly pushing any remaining thoughts of the man out. Why would he feel bad now after everything he’s done? He put his hands on his daughter! He almost killed Charlie! That arrogant asshole brought this all on himself. He caused his own death. Lucifer can almost imagine what should be on his headstone. Here lies Adam the First Man. From the moment he was created, he was nothing more than an idiot who brought misery to those around him. Lucifer would put it on. Couldn’t keep a wife. Couldn’t keep a deal. Couldn’t keep it in his pants. Karma must have finally had enough after centuries of his shitty attitude and even shittier life choices and took matters into their own hands. This was how it was always gonna end for Adam. Feeling any sort of pity would just be a waste.
With a quick turn, the Devil made his way back to the hotel. Charlie and the others were probably wondering where he was right now after his sudden disappearance. It was time to leave the dead be. As he turned around, his phone went off. He pulls his phone out of his pocket and glances to see who it was. His breathing hitches. Heaven was calling.
Adam should be dead.
The sudden pain from behind, Lute crying out his name, those were the last things he remembered before everything went black. This was it. The end of the first man. The man created in God's image and father to all of humanity. Taken out from behind like a pussy. A shitty end according to Adam but in those final moments, he knew he couldn’t change anything. He accepted it even, welcoming the black nothingness he was going into. He was just so tired.
And then he woke up.
It was the noise that finally made him stir awake. Adam groggily opened his eyes to a red sky. The same one he saw when he died. Am I…dead? The pain in his back begged a differ. Slowly, Adam forced himself up. Looking around, he noticed he was surrounded by brick walls. An alley from the looks of it. He pushed himself off the ground and stretched. That’s when he felt it. Or rather felt the lack of. Where the hell are my wings!? Adam’s head jerked behind him, trying to catch a glimpse of his golden wings but they were gone. Panic started to set in as Adam tried to think what happened to him. He turns to see light at the end of the alley into the street. Quickly, he made his way over to it only when he stepped into a puddle.
“Aw fuc-” Adam stopped and looked down. Wait a minute…Where are my fucking feet? Carrying him was not human legs, but goat legs with hooves. The sight made his legs buckled underneath him, causing him to fall in the same puddle. Scrambling back up. Peeking back into the puddle, he managed to get a glimpse of himself.
He wishes he hadn't.
His brown hair remained the same but peeking out was a pair of goat ears. The horns that were once on his helmet looked to be permanently attached to his skull. His eyes were still gold but the sclera around it had become red instead. He looked down further to see he wasn't in his usual exorcist outfit. Rather he was just in a ratty, black cassock almost like his own.
Adam fell back. No no no nonononono . His hands clawing at his face as if he could just tear off these demonic features. Adam only stops when his face starts to burn. He puts his hands back to see red blood on his fingers. Not gold.
In a matter of seconds he's back on his feet (hooves?) and makes a mad dash towards the street. Looking around, there is only one place he can go. To his left towering over the other buildings was the Heaven Embassy. Sera can fix this. Knocking every sinner in his way, ignoring the curses slung at him in response. His eyes fixed on that golden building. When he finally made it, Adam practically threw himself at the doors, yanking at the door handles. But it wouldn't budge. That didn’t stop Adam pulling at the doors.
“HEY!! OPEN UP!!” He kicks the doors. Still nothing. “COME ON!! COME ONE!! COME ON!!” In desperation he throws himself against it only to bounce off like a ball, just barely stopping himself from following on his ass. For the next couple minutes he continued to pull, kick, throw himself, and scream for the next couple of minutes.
“FUCK! OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR-!”
Just as he pulled, the door opened. Adam stumbled backwards, this time managing to not fall to the ground. He looked to see who finally opened the door and of fucking course it’s the one person he doesn’t want to see. Lucifer in all his short, wife-stealing, life ruining glory stood before him. From the look on his face, he looked just as shocked as Adam to see him. Neither of the two said anything, instead processing what to do next. Finally, it was Lucifer who spoke first.
“Adam?” He carefully questioned.
“Who the hell else would I be?!”
“You…died…”
“Do I look dead to you dipshit?” Lucifer didn’t respond. Instead he just looked at him, his face remaining neutral. It left Adam to unconsciously hold his breath. Wondering what the Devil was thinking. After not speaking for what felt like forever, Adam opens his mouth to speak.
“Hey, what are yo-”
Then Lucifer started laughing. His gleefully, almost manic, laughter causing him to hunch over with tears forming in his eyes. Adam's face flushes with anger. How dare this bitch laugh at me! He wants to wring his skinny ass neck but flashbacks to Lucifer only an hour ago beating the hell out of him nearly to death stops him.
“I can't believe it! Look at you! Can't say I like this new look but it feels you to a tee!” Lucifer manages to get out once he finally calms down.
“Oh fuck you! This was your fault I bet. The hell did you do to me?!”
“Oh I didn't do this but I kinda wish I did! This is hilarious!"
“Yeah sure. Then what happened to me you jackass!”
Lucifer put his finger to his chin in a fake thoughtful manner. He then just shrugs.
"Well go call Sera so she can fix this!" Adam demands.
“Why would I do that?”
Lucifer’s voice was still calm but even so Adam felt a shiver run down his spine.
“What…what do you mean? You have to tell them I’m still here?” Adam manages to keep his voice level.
“You’re dead to them. That's what I was just talking to Sera about. She just wanted to confirm some stuff like your death with me before the shut down.” Adam's breathing stopped. Shocked at what just came out of the Devil’s mouth.
“What? What shut down?”
“Starting today, Heaven’s on lock down. Sera thinks it’s best for Heaven to spend some time recuperating. Apparently some stuff came up that she needs to deal with and doesn’t plan to communicate with Hell for a while. Her decision, not mine.”
“Well…well you can still reach her right. I’m not dead! She needs to know. They all need to know!” Desperation apparent in Adam’s voice. Lucifer just smiles.
“Too bad buddy. I have no plans of disturbing her. And even if I was gracious enough to call up Heaven for you, why would I? You don't deserve that.” Lucifer slowly walked towards him while Adam remained frozen in place. “After everything you've done. By some miracle you're still alive because something believed you should stick around. So here you are! Stripped of Heaven's blessings and left with nothing but your bare self. A sinner just like the rest of us here.” Lucifer inched closer to Adam’s face. “Don't worry Adam, you're right where you deserve to be.”
Lucifer’s intense gaze caused Adam to collapse to the ground, now at eye level with Lucifer.
“Now I’m gonna set a few rules for you. Normally I don’t pay mind to the average sinner, but I’ll make an exception for you.” Lucifer’s voice which was unapologetically cheerful dropped into something more sinister. “I don’t ever wanna see you near Charlie. If she shows up anywhere you happen to be at, I want you gone from the area. She thinks you're dead and I want to keep it that way. You’ve caused enough damage in her life.” As he speaks, Lucifer brings a hand to Adam’s neck, his finger lightly grazing his skin. Adam swallows the spit gaining in his mouth but refuses to break eye contact. It’s the last bit of defiance he has in him. “If I see you even remotely close to my daughter, her friends or her hotel, I will not hesitate to put you right back in the dirt you quite frankly should be in right now. Understood?”
“Fuck you! Like hell I'd ever go near your brat’s-” Lucifer's hand squeezes Adam’s neck causing him to gasp. His hands go to Lucifer's wrist, attempting to pull him off to no avail. Like stone Lucifer remains still, looking at Adam with an unimpressed look.
“Understood?”
Lucifer’s grip tightens more. Adam tries to remain strong, to not give in but with every second he is going more and more light headed.
“F-fine!” Adam finally managed to get out. With a smirk, Lucifer pulls back, leaving Adam gagging. “Well Adam, this was truly the highlight of my day! I’ll be going now! Charlie's throwing a little celebration for our victory and I promised I'd be back in time for cake! I'd say see you later but well, I don't plan to! Good luck with your new life!”
With a little wave he summons a portal and is gone in an instant. Adam remains on the ground, still trying to catch his breath and calm his heart. Everyone thinks I'm dead? Heaven is closed? I'm stuck here? No, this is not fucking possible! This is just some elaborate lie created by Lucifer. Of course someone like Lucifer would create such an elaborate prank all to fuck with him.
But then he remembers Lute’s face. Her crying out his name with tears in her eyes before everything went black. The sound of her ordering the others back, the flapping of angel wings growing more and more distant before he couldn't hear anymore. She wouldn't have left his side if she knew he was still alive. Adam knew his top girl and best friend better than that. She thought I was dead. When she got back to Heaven, she told Sera that I’m dead. Nobody’s gonna come back for me.
He remained on the ground frozen. The realization of his situation he found himself in finally set in, slowly crushing him from the inside out. Only one thought repeated in his mind.
He was completely and utterly fucked.
Notes:
Hello! This is my first time posting fanfiction so I'm still learning the format of everything here. Please let me know your thoughts on how the story is formatted. So for a while things like the warnings and tags might end up changing/being added, what you see know should give you a good idea of what's to come. I have a good potion of this story planned out so I'll try to get the proper tags in before it happens in the story.
Anyway, special thanks to Adam for giving me such bad brain rot this past year that I finally got the guts to make and post fanfiction. I couldn't have done this without you baby boy.
Chapter 2: To Survive
Summary:
Adam adjusts to his new life in Hell and yet things always find a way to go from bad to worse.
Chapter Text
“Heyyyyyy. You look familiar. Have we, like, met before?”
A sheep sinner had taken it upon herself to seat herself next to him at the bar Adam was drinking at. She clearly had one to many mojitos and thought she stood a chance at getting into his pants. However, Adam wasn’t interested. Was she hot? Absolutely. Was he gonna stick his dick in her? Fuck no! Like he would ever put his gift to humanity in some sinner trash. That meant until he was back home he was (unfortunately) going celibate. That doesn't mean he can't check out her tits. She was practically shoving them in his face. Too bad he could barely enjoy them with her consistently yapping in his ear. Oh how could his life come to this?
Even after Lucifer left, Adam didn't stop fighting with the doors to the Embassy. A small, delusional part of his brain doubted Lucifer’s words. He was the Devil after all! A liar. Why trust him? It took another hour at the doors before he officially gave up. What the fuck am I suppose to do now?!
When night came, Adam got up and did the only thing he could think of at that moment. He started walking. Roaming aimlessly about the city, hoping that some amazing idea would hit him on the head and solve all his issues. Unsurprisingly, nothing ever came. Soon tiredness started to creep in. Looking around, Adam decided to take a break on a nearby bench. Leaning back, he shut his eyes only for a second.
When he opened them, someone had snuck up on him attempting to pickpocket him. Adam made quick work of him. While he was lacking in his angelic powers, he still had raw strength. It only took one hit to knock him out. All the extra ones were for stress relief. After beating the sinner into the ground, he took whatever they had of value. With a little bit of cash in his pockets, Adam continued roaming.
The next couple of days became a cycle for Adam. He’d hang out in some spots, trespass in others, never the same place twice. When exhaustion became too much he would find a secluded place to rest. Somewhere he felt safe. Or at least as safe as someone like him could feel given the fact that he’s stuck in a place where everyone most likely wants him dead. Getting a hotel room was too much of a risk.
When he was short on cash, he would get in a fight with whoever looked at him wrong. The first time he tried this he underestimated the guy as it turned out that he had some friends with him. Adam managed to put up a fight but ended up face first in the concrete, bloody and bruised every way. One of those bastards even got a couple of stabs in. He spent that night in that dirty alley until his wounds healed enough to walk.
Adam learned then to be more careful with who he starts fights with after that. From then on, every sinner Adam got his hands on he took to pound town (the not sexual one) and took whatever they had. That's how he made his money. Taking out weaker sinners and stealing their shit. It was all invigorating and for the first time since waking up in this hellhole he felt good. When he’d see the blood of other sinners covering his hands, he felt like he was in control. But then he was reminded of where he’s at and he would go back to feeling like shit. God he was going to bitch so hard to Sera when he got back to Heaven.
If I get back to Heaven .
A small voice would echo that in his head from time to time. Mainly when he thought about home, Lute and the rest of his girls, or Sera. So he keeps an ear out for any news on the lockdown and when Heaven might open back up. He has yet to hear anything good.
After a few weeks, Adam found himself sick of just surviving. If he's truly going to be stuck here for the foreseeable future, he should find something to entertain himself. After news of the attack on the hotel died down, everyone seemed to forget the event entirely. When it became clear that people didn't recognize Adam, he got more and more bold. Night after night, he would find a new bar to drink at and forget the previous 12 hours.
All of this to survive.
That had to be the worst part of it all for him. He was mother-fucking Adam! The leader of the Exorcists. The First man! The Father of Humanity! Every God forsaken sinner in this shithole should fear him. Worship him. Beg on their hands and knees so that he doesn’t kill them. Yet here he was, keeping his head low hoping nobody would take a close look at him.
God he was pathetic.
So here he was getting drunk off whiskey and listening to shitty music while wearing a hoodie and jeans he stole from a laundromat next to some sheep bitch who wouldn't just shut the fuck up.
“But no, like,” She started again. “I think I've met you before or something.”
“No we haven't.” Adam curtly responds back hoping she takes his curt response as a sign that he was not interested in talking. Of course she didn't.
“Are you sureeeeeeeee?” Her words are slurred and she's leaning close to his face now. As much as Adam wants to wring her skinny neck out, he doesn’t. He has no idea who she's here with and the last thing he wants right now is for them to jump him for doing anything to her.
“Yes! Now get the fuck out of my face!”
“Hmmm…” Adam can smell the alcohol on her tongue with how close she is. Adam’s pulse quickens and he tightens his fist. Her eyes board into him as his gaze focuses ahead pretending that she's not freaking him out. Go away. Go away. Go away.
“Well what do we have here?” A voice, a man, came from behind.
“None of your business bitc-” Adam sighs, turning only to be face to chest with someone much taller than him. He looks up to see a man resembling a moth wearing a long red coat, shades, and an ugly ass hat. In one of his four hands a light cigarette burned leaving a trail of red smoke behind him. The smell makes Adam want to gag. The sheep girl sees him and falls back into her seat, happily waving at the man as she focuses all her attention on the man. Thank God.
“Oh my God Val! Hi! What are you doing here?” She asks.
“Fuck off.” His voice annoyed. He didn't take his eyes off of Adam.
The sinner girl gasps, pouts, and mutters something under her breath before angrily getting up and stumbling off into the crowd. Once she leaves, the man gives Adam a sleazy smile.
The man bends down to be face to face. “I saw you hanging around the bar and I wanted to get a closer look at you.” His voice flirtatious yet slimy in a way that made Adam’s skin crawl.
“Not interested.”
“Why, you didn't even let me speak.” The moth man’s (Val was it?) smile dropped, irritation evident on his face.
“Like I said, not interested.” Getting out of his seat, Adam attempts to walk past when he suddenly feels a hand grip his shoulder. In just a few seconds, he found himself thrown back into the bar. Pain shooting up his spine. Sinners scattered about, hoping to catch a glimpse of what’s about to go down. Close enough to see the action but far enough to not end up losing a limb or two. Before Adam can get back up to fight, the other’s hand grabs his neck forcing him back down on the counter. He reaches to pry him off but two more hands grab both his wrists and pins them down next to his head. His last hand is still casually holding onto his cigarette.
“Now listen here, when I talk, you listen. You got that whore?” Val grits out.
“Who the hell are you calling a whore?!” Adam yells.
“The bitch I have pinned down obviously.” He hissed back. Despite all the drinks he downed earlier, Adam still managed to put up a struggle. Kicking and thrashing against the other. Val grimaced as he put more pressure on him, successfully holding him down. As much as he hates to admit it, it atleast made sense that Lucifer was able to hold him down. Despite his clown self looking as intimidating as a kids cereal mascot, Adam had the excuse that he was the fucking Devil. This 11-foot nobody on the other hand managing to keep him down? Now that was just embarrassing.
“I know it's you.”
Adam stopped struggling. There was no way he knew his true identity. This purple bitch had to be bluffing and he was going to prove it.
“I don't know what the fuck you’re talking about. Now get the fuck off me!” The other smirked then leaned down close to Adam’s ear.
“You're the First Man right?”
Well, guess he wasn't bluffing.
“Seeing how nobody is trying to murder you, I'm guessing nobody else knows. You wanna keep it that way right?” Adam doesn’t respond.
“I think we should go somewhere a little more…private. Let's head out for a bit.”
“Like hell I will.”
“That wasn't a request.”
The next thing Adam knew, he felt something wet pressed against the side of his neck. It moved slowly up from his collar bone up to just below the ear. Did this fucker just lick me!? Before he could properly break free and kick his ass, his body started to feel hot and fuzzy all over. His breath coming out in short pants. The club starts to spin, his bones turn to jello, and any fight left in him drains out completely leaving him limp against the bar counter.
“What the…what did you do?” Adam mutters. Trying to sound menacing but failing miserably. The other man chuckles.
“Just a little something to calm you down. It will make this next part much easier too.” Val responds.
“Wha-”
Val backs up, pulling Adam along with him. With one arm around Adam’s waist (his hand grabbing a little too low for Adam's liking), Val holds him steady against his side and begins to almost drag the other man away. He feels like he's floating, unable to ground himself and push Val away. The sinners that had crowded around them to see what was happening moved to make way for the two. Nobody stopped Val. But why would they? Their sinners after all. They probably enjoyed the show Adam thought bitterly. Val leads the two of them towards the entrance.
Outside the club a limo was waiting for them. A small sinner holding the door open. Val shoves Adam in, his body crumpled on the floor. Stepping over him, Val makes himself comfortable, even propping his legs on top of Adam's motionless body. The small sinner quickly closes the door and gets back to the driver's seat.
“You know where.” Val says.
“Y-yes sir.” The driver stutters out as he quickly pulls out into traffic.
With whatever Val had used on him still coursing through his body, all Adam could do was lay there. A human foot cushion for some perverted asshole who was currently on his phone rapidly texting.
“Oh they are gonna love this.”
Laying down on the ground of some purple bitch’s car going God knows where wasn't exactly how Adam thought his night was going to go. Then again, anything is possible at this point for him. Dying. Being reborn in Hell as sinner. Basically being homeless. Might as well add drugged and kidnapped to the list. However, as Adam laid there a single thought came to mind. This was probably the best place he's slept all week.
Chapter 3: Meeting from well...Hell
Summary:
Adam meets some new faces. He wishes he hadn't.
Chapter Text
Adam doesn't remember passing out, but he must have as he's jerked awake. Two pairs of hands grab onto him and drag him out the car into a building. Everything was still blurry for Adam as he tried to focus on his surroundings. With the moth man leading the way, they then enter an elevator and then another room. Finally, Adam was released only to find himself tied to a chair. He slowly comes to. He was at a table and across from him was somebody else. Multiple of them but he could barely focus on just one of them.
Suddenly, an electric shock courses through him causing his body to painfully convulse. Adam screamed. “WHAT THE FUCK!” It was enough to wake him up from his drowsy state. Awake and alert, the man starts thrashing in his seat.
“See? The man just needed a bit of a wake up call. That's all.” An unfamiliar voice said. “But you’re right Val. Sounds just like him.”
“Told ya~” Adam snarled, his eyes burning with malice as he continued to struggle against his restraints. “I’d cut that out if I was you. Don’t want another shock do you?” Adam looked up to see who was talking. There was a man with a screen for a head looking back at him.
“Let me out of here you filthy Apple looking bit-!” Before he could finish his insult, a piece of cloth is put in his mouth and tied around his head. Effectively shutting him up.
The TV man turned his attention to the two sinners who dragged him here. A cheap smile plastered on his face (Screen?). “Thank you for that. Did not want to listen to any more of his yapping. You’re excused.” The two thugs quickly made their way out of the room leaving Adam alone and at the mercy of the other three sinners. He didn’t need to be told their three were much more powerful than other sinners he had come across. The TV man made his way back to his seat across from the man. To his left was the man who kidnapped him lazing about in his chair. To his left was a woman with pigtails who was focused on her phone.
“Alright, let’s get down to business. Welcome to Hell Mr. First Man. Pleasure to meet you. The name’s Vox. The one behind all the media here in Hell is yours truly.” The man gloats, then motions over to the woman on her phone. “This is Velvette. Our lovely fashion icon.” Velvette finally looks up from her phone and gives him a smirk. Vox then motions to Val. “And I believe you’ve already met Valentino. Leader in Hell’s Porn Industry.” Val smiled and gave a flirty little wave. “We are known as The Vee’s.”
Adam was somewhat aware of them. Every year for the exterminations it was hard to miss the neon tower. He would see their faces plastered on various buildings and billboards throughout Hell just as he saw that spider porn star the hellspawn was trying to fix. He figured they were a big deal but that was about all the thought he ever gave them. They weren’t important to him so why bother? Never would have thought he’d end up in front of them and be at the disadvantage.
“It’s quite a surprise to see you still standing after that beating you got. We all thought you died! But here you are in the hellish flesh. Impressive really.” “Now, you must be wondering why we brought you here.”
“That’s what I’m wondering about Vox.” Velvette pipes up. “I was in the middle of something really fucking important before you called me up here. This had better be worth it.”
“Why Velvette, that’s no way to treat our special guest. Meetings like this don’t happen often you know.” Vox’s voice is dripping with mockery. “But you’re right. Let’s skip the pointless chatter. Wouldn’t want to keep you from your work after all.”
Vox’s attention is back on Adam. “Now, what to do with you.”
Val groaned. “Let’s just make him sign a contract already. Get this shit over with.”
Like hell I will! Adam wants to yell but the gag resulted in only muffled.
“That would make things easier.” Vox silently contemplates Val’s suggestion before shaking his head. “No contracts right now. He may be a sinner but we don’t know what might happen once word gets out that he’s still alive. Last thing we need is to attract Heaven or Lucifer’s attention and a binding contract could make things more complicated for us in the long run.”
As if. Adam thought. If Heaven had found out, there would be without a doubt issues for them and Lucifer would definitely get involved. That sounds like a nightmare for any sinner no matter how strong.
But Heaven is not only closed off for the foreseeable future, but think he has been dead for at least a month now. And Lucifer on the other hand made it pretty clear his stance on Adam’s situation. Nobody was coming for him. At least not now. Best not to let them know that important fact.
“No contract? Why is he even here then? With how easy it was for Val to drag him here, he probably can’t do anything.” Velvette complains, her attention back to her phone.
Adam could feel his blood start to boil. How fucking dare she say shit like that to him. Vox must have noticed his agitation. He raises his hand as electricity travels along his hand. A silent warning to calm down that unfortunately works on the first man.
Vox turns his attention back to his colleagues. “It’s not about what he can do. It’s about what he represents. For thousands of years Adam has led a powerful army to slaughter our kind. He was every sinner’s worst nightmare. But look at him now. Nothing more than the sinners he has killed. Stuck here in this cesspit with the rest of us. And now he’s under OUR control. Think about it, what do you think that says about us? Of course nobody needs to know that he’s powerless. Just that he’s the first man and he’s working for us.”
“For now, nobody can know that he’s here.”
“C’mon! I’m the one who had to drag his fatass here and I can’t even make a movie with him?! People would kill for something like that!” The moth man whines. Adam stomach drops. He can’t be serious. He couldn’t seriously use him to make porn. Could he?
Vox’s smile falters. Frustration evident on his face. Vox takes a deep breath and turns to Val.
“Hey Val, what do you need to make a film?” He asks.
“Uh…actors, camera crew, sound people, makeup and costume crew...”
“That sounds like a lot of people.”
“Well, duh.”
“And by having all those people around, they might notice who he is right?”
Val sighs, realizing what Vox was getting at. “I guess…”
“Right! You got it!” Vox cheers in a happy and obviously patronizing way. Val clearly doesn’t realize this as he is smiling back at the praise. Adam swears that the two of them are giving each other bedroom eyes. The sight made him want to gag.
“So it’s best we don’t let that happen.” Vox turns to look at Adam. “At least not yet. But don't worry. We'll figure something out.”
“You do realize that means you can’t keep playing Alastor getting his assed kicked on loop in the lobby anymore right?” Velvette teases. Vox sighs looking almost sorrowful.
“Unfortunately, yes.”
“Gracias a Dios! I was getting sick of seeing it. The only reason I recognized him was because you kept replaying it.”
Soon the three of them are conversing with one another with playful insults being thrown around. All of this as Adam sat silently tied up across from them. It was aggravating. Sitting helplessly as they discussed what to do with him without being able to speak back. The three sinners turned their attention back to Adam. They were like a pack of wolves who had managed to corner their wounded prey. Adam swallowed. Sweat gathered on the back of his neck. He tries to hide the fear he starts to feel growing in his chest but with how they smiled, their sharp teeth exposed, he knew they could tell.
“Well Adam,” Vox gets up from his seat and walks over to Adam. He leans down until they are eye level. “We look forward to working with you in the future.”
Adam isn’t completely aware of how he got here. One minute Vox is telling him to follow him, his eyes turning a red and next thing he knows, he’s obeying! He doesn’t even realize what has happened until he is locked away.
Turns out Vox had a room set up just for him. It looked like a standard hotel room. It had a queen size bed, a TV, and a mini fridge filled with various drinks. There was also a private bathroom. He even got a gift basket with some snacks left sitting on the bed. No windows though. Instead, a painting of the city hung on his wall.
Adam’s first reaction was to do what he always did since he was reborn in Hell. Panic. He learned quickly that the walls in his room were thick and made with some type of metal as they didn’t give in under Adam’s relentless beating. After tiring himself out, Adam found himself sitting on the edge of the bed, thinking of what his next move will be.
I’ll knock out the next person who opens that door. What if it’s that TV fuck again? If it’s not, maybe I could run. Will they come after me? Probably.
Adam then remembers something that Vox said.
“The one behind all the media here in Hell is yours truly.”
If he were to escape, would he expose who he is? He knows who he is. He probably has evidence of it too. If that happened, what would be the point of escaping at that point? Nowhere would be safe for him.
Defeated, Adam reaches for the remote and flips through various channels. No matter what he thought of, he won’t be able to do anything right now. Might as well try to rest up before he does anything reckle-
“-ooking for a chance at redemption?”
That voice. He knew exactly who that voice belonged to.
“A chance at Heaven. Please stop by the Hazbin Hotel!” Charlie Morningstar appeared on the small tv screen. Behind her is the hotel. Though he could have sworn it was a look less…put together considering he razed the building to the ground. But there it was, bigger and brighter and more tacky than ever.
Shots from inside the place showed on the screen. Vaggie talking to someone in the lobby. The porn star showing off the new rooms. (That wasn’t the only thing he was showing off) A grumpy looking cat man working the bar. A tiny maid running around trying to stab something. A familiar steel stiletto in her hands. The sight left Adam shaking and his breathing uneven. Thankfully, the shot changes and the commercial continues until it cuts back to Charlie.
“Come on down to the new and improved Hazbin Hotel. A path to redemption is for everyone!” Charlie proudly states. Her friends join her and together are waving at the camera as the screen goes black and another commercial starts.
It was all her fault. Everything that has happened to him is because of her and her stupid fucking hotel. That mistake of a hellspawn should be dead alongside all her traitorous bitch of a girlfriend and the rest of her sinner trash friends while he celebrated with his girls. But instead she’s out there celebrating while he was stuck here. A prisoner trapped in Hell with nobody coming to save him. If only she just fucked off after that first meeting.
Adam once again felt all his anger built up. This time with no restraints holding him back, he exploded. “GODDAMMIT!” Adam screams and chucks the remote against the wall, completely shattering it. “FUCK YOU YOU BITCH! FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU!” He threw a couple more punches at the wall for good measure before settling back into the bed. Once the anger was gone, there was only exhaustion.
Laying down on the pleasantly soft bed, he felt his eyes become heavy. Whatever he does next will have to come tomorrow. Hopefully someone could get him a new remote by then.
Chapter 4: Ground Rules
Summary:
Adam gets a tour from our favorite TV Overlord. Lucky him!
Chapter Text
Adam spent the next two weeks in his new room though he wouldn’t have realized it as the days quickly blended together.
While he may have been stuck, at least was well cared for. A working shower. A comfortable bed to sleep in. Some fresh clothes to wear. Three full meals a day plus snacks. He hasn’t been this comfortable since this whole being stuck in Hell fiasco started. Even if he wasn’t here by choice, Adam made sure to savor every drop of hot water from the shower, every bite of the mildly good food served to him through the slot in the door, and every minute of uninterrupted sleep he got. He had to save up energy for the moment he could fight back.
But as the days went by, that urgency quickly disappeared when it became apparent nobody was coming to let him out. Adam found himself laying in bed a majority of the day watching tv. (Thankfully someone got him a new remote.) While Hell may be a degenerate and disgusting place, and it still is, the television down here was admittedly enjoyable. Not the kind of stuff you would see in Heaven. Soon his schedule consisted of waking up, eating, watching tv, eating some more, watching more tv, going to bed, repeat. With the occasional pacing around his room when he felt particularly restless or when his memories of home became a bit too much, that was all he would do. Well, all he COULD do.
By the third week, someone finally knocks at the door. As Adam quickly sits up from his spot on the bed, the door opens and that familiar flat face fuck walks in.
“Hey there. Sorry for leaving you alone for so long. Things have been busy as fuck lately. But hey, I’m here now!” Vox exclaims happily as if that would make Adam feel any better. Though he wouldn’t admit that he was tired of being alone. Left to stew in his own thoughts. He was relieved to finally have someone to talk to. Even if it was the same person who trapped him here.
“Spent a lot of time going through security footage of you from all around Pentagram City. Had to basically erase your existence. For your safety of course. You’re welcome by the way.”
“Why am I here? What do you want exactly?” Adam demands as he slowly creeps forward, ready yet wary of the TV sinner.
“To improve of course! That last extermination showed us a lot of important things. The most important being an angel’s fragility. Who knew the very weapons you use could take you out as well?” Vox asks as if Adam would answer him when Adam himself sure as hell didn’t know. When it is clear Adam doesn’t have an answer, Vox continues.
“Anyway, we at VoxTech hope to use what we’ve learned to improve our company. We had some of our people gather up remains found on the Hotel’s premises right after the fight. Anything that could be of use to us. Primarily weapons and bodies.” Adam’s stomach drops. The fuck are they going to do with his girls?! The thought of their bodies not just being eaten, but being used for whatever freak shit Vox has in mind sends Adam spiralling. Vox must have caught onto Adam’s panic as he continues.
“Relax, we didn’t get much anyway. Unfortunately, those fucking Cannibals managed to get their teeth into just about all of your soldiers before we could get to them.” That didn’t comfort Adam in the slightest and from the look Vox was giving him it wasn’t suppose to. With quick, methodical steps Vox makes his way towards Adam.
"However, we did get something I believe is much more valuable.”
Adam screams as the sudden shock from Vox stuns him, allowing the sinner to slip something around his neck.
“Stop doing that! And what the fuck did you put on me?!” His hands quickly reach for his neck only to feel metal. Adam hurries over to the mirror on his dresser to see what Vox did. Around him was a thick metal collar. He yanks at it hoping he could break it but to no avail. He angrily turns to the smug face bastard watching him.
“What the fuck is this for!?”
“Just a little something to keep you here. It’d be annoying to have to keep an eye on you every second of the day. It’s just a prototype but if it proves to be useful, you will definitely be seeing more of these bad boys in the future.” Vox explains. “With that on, you will not be able to leave the premises. Any attempt will be met with a much harsher shock than the one I just gave you. But hey, you’re free to try leaving if you don’t believe me.”
Given the way he has been treated thus far, Adam didn’t need any more convincing of what anyone here would be willing to do to him.
“What do you want?” Adam asked, desperately trying to hide the distress in his voice.
“You will be working for us. From today forward, you will be helping us in our endeavors to grow the company and improve our customers' everyday lives.”
“What?” That wasn’t what Adam had been expecting.
“Don’t worry, I will explain everything you need to know. Now Adam, come with me.”
For the next hour, Adam was shown around the building since he was expecting to work there until further notice. “A grand tour from none other than Vox himself!” Vox had said. Lucky him. The floors ranged from various showrooms to film sets to studios to tech labs. There was nothing these guys didn’t have when it came to entertainment. It made Adam wonder if there was anything the Vee’s didn’t have their hands in here in Hell.
Vox had given him a rough idea of what he will be doing during his involuntary stay here. Running errands, cleaning up after filming. (The idea of what he was expected to clean up after made Adam gag), and basically just help wherever he is needed. All things Adam was not looking forward to. This wasn’t work for someone as important as him. He should be killing sinners, fucking bitches, and being generally an awesome dude. Not getting people coffee and cleaning up jizz stains.
As they were walking, an eel looking man ran up to Vox yapping about some new projects they were working on. As Adam waited for them to finish, Vox rambled on as the assistant quickly scribbled everything he said on the clipboard. As he writes, the pen suddenly falls out of his hand and onto the floor. Before the assistant could pick it up Vox stops him and instead turns to Adam.
“Pick that up for me.”
“Pick it up yourself fucker.”
Vox signs, as if he expected that response. “Guess this is a perfect time to try this out.” Vox’s hand digs into his pocket and pulls out a small remote. With a click of a button, electricity courses throughout Adam’s body. While it wasn’t as strong as the other times Vox had shocked him, Adam still finds himself on his knees gasping for air after it stops.
“What the fuck! I didn’t go anywhere!”
“Did you really think keeping you here was all that collar could do? Oh no buddy.” Vox fiddles with the controller before putting it back into his pocket. He gives Adam a sadistic smile. “Gotta keep you in line somehow.” Vox then leans closer to Adam, his voice cool. A sharp change from the pleasant attitude he had before.
“Now Adam, I’m going to set up some ground rules for you to follow from here on out. When you are told to do something. I expect your immediate compliance. No complaining, no back talk, nothing. Whether it’s from me, Val, Velvette, or any other person working here. Remember, you are at the bottom of this corporate ladder. Understand?” That last word was less a question and more of a demand.
Adam wanted nothing more than to punch the man's face. Break every microchip, circuit board, whatever he had in his face into a million pieces. Slowly tear every limb from his body until he’s a weeping mess, crying for a mercy he knows he wouldn’t get. Oh the things he could do to this man if he still had his powers. He would do all things he knows he can’t do right. Instead, feeling defeated, Adam nods.
“Now I’ll ask you again. Pick it up.” With a huff, Adam reaches over to the pen before standing back up and shoves it towards the assistant. He quietly thanks him before scurrying off somewhere.
“Good job! An attitude like that is gonna get you far around here. Now let's keep going.” Vox beckons for Adam to follow him. With a reluctant sign, Adam wordlessly trails behind the man.
The rest of the tour was uneventful for the most part. However, every once in a while Vox would stop everything to have Adam do something. It was always something small like to hold the door open for him or hand him something nearby. Still, it never failed to irritate the first man.
Afterwards with the conclusion of the tour, the two of them made their way back to Adam’s room.
“And that is the end of our tour. Do you have any questions? I’ll be happy to answer them.” Vox happily asks.
“You can’t be serious about any of this, right? Cleaning, errands, what is the point of all this stupid shit? What do you actually plan to do with me?” Adam’s exhaustion is evident. If they wanted to do some dangerous experiments on him or chop him up for parts, at least wanted to know that was what’s in store for him. What he couldn’t handle most was not knowing.
“Honestly? Nothing else that I know of. We could always use someone to run around and help out so that’s what you will be doing. And really, with how you are currently, what else can you really provide us anyway?”
That shouldn’t have pissed off Adam as much as it did. He had been hanging around this fucker all day. He should be used to his shitty comments by now. Yet the insinuation that he, Mother Fucking Adam, was worthless to a sinner of all people had him growling. His hands form fists and he takes a step towards the other. Vox raises a brow, an unamused look on his face. It felt as if he was tempting the other man to fight back. I dare you to try something.
Sadly Adam knows what will happen if he fights back. So he stops and turns his head away in a small act of defiance. It wasn’t much, but it was all he had at the moment. Vox laughs.
“Look at you keeping that tempter in check. Good on you. Here.”
Vox pulls out a small bottle out of his blazer of what looks like vodka and tosses it to Adam. He looks at Vox confused.
“What’s this for?” Adam asked.
“Consider it a gift for being so well behaved. You can expect much more in the future if you continue to behave yourself. Goodnight Adam.” Vox leaves, making his way down the hall towards the elevator. As Adam opens his door, Vox quickly turns around and calls out to him.
“Hey Adam!”
“What?” Adam groans. He was tired, pissed off, and just wants this day to be over with. At least now he had something to help make the day go away easier.
Adam sees Vox smile at him. It wasn’t the same cruel one he would so often give him. It was almost…friendly? If that was even possible for someone like Vox. It at least lacked any of the usual malice he had seen from the TV sinner prior. A chill ran down Adam’s spine. It was unsettling.
“Welcome to the team.”
Chapter 5: Going Through the Motions

Chapter Text
“Ohhh yes, keep going, keep going~”
Adam can’t remember the last time he’d watch porn. Someone like him didn’t need to. If he wanted to fuck, he’d call up the closest babe and invite her over to his place. Within an hour he would have already came, grabbed a sandwich from the fridge, and had the bitch out the door. Life was just that easy for him and God had he missed it. Instead, here he was. Forced to witness this mess.
“Haah…ahhh…AH!” A man was helplessly grinding down onto his partner’s cock who looked equally debauched. His face in pure bliss as he rode out what has to be his 9th orgasm.
Turning his back to the scene playing out has not been as helpful as he thought it would be. The sound of moaning and skin slapping is too loud for Adam to ignore. He tries to imagine that it was something more appealing to him but fails miserably.
Adam can feel shame building up in his chest. He should not be as…responsive…to what is happening. He settled on it being his current celibate state and nothing more. As the moaning grew loud, Adam became more flushed. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE!
Working for the Vee’s had been exactly as Vox described it. Everyday at 6:00 am, Adam would be awakened by a blaring alarm coming from a speaker hidden somewhere in his room. Adam grabs a pillow in an attempt to ignore it yet it doesn't stop. When it becomes clear that it wasn’t going to stop, he gets ready for his first day of work.
He’s left with a few simple polo shirts and work pants. The VoxTek logo on the corner of them. Once he was dressed, he would walk out and see a note taped to his door. A list of all his tasks for the day. Most days, it was running errands all day. Others would be dedicated to cleaning. Some days would be a mix of both. After a short lunch break, he would work until 5:00 pm and could return to his room. It was a system Adam unwillingly got used to.
Today was a cleaning day. The location? Val’s studio. The last place Adam wanted to be. Out of the three Vee’s, Val was definitely the worst. While Vox acted pleasant and Velvette mostly just ignored him, this pervert always took the opportunity to make him feel uncomfortable. Sexual comments. Unnecessary touching. Adam always became Val’s favorite plaything the moment he walked into the room.
So here Adam was, awkwardly keeping his attention everywhere but the scene before him. The moth man sitting nearby in the director's seat. However, Val would occasionally focus on him instead. As if he was waiting for Adam to do something. What exactly Adam didn’t know.
“Cut!” Val shouts. With the scene finally over, Adam turns back around. The actors stumble their way off stage leaving their mess for Adam to clean. As Adam grabs his cleaning supplies, Val saunters over to him.
“Ashamed I can’t get you in front of the camera. You sure you don’t want a chance at stardom?” Val asks. His voice in a teasing tone.
“Fuck no! I’m not some whore!”
“Never said you were but I think you’d do very well as one.” Adam rolls his eyes and focuses his attention back to his work. The clear lack of interest didn’t stop Val from talking.
“I swear, you plus my Angel Dust together would make a killing!” The moth man continues with no care for Adam’s discomfort. Truly he seems to revel in it. Unsurprising given every interaction the two have had. But Adam refuses to let him get under his skin like this.
“Not interested.” He interrupts Val, his voice remaining neutral.
“It would get you out of cleaning duty.”
“Not. Interested.”
“Well, let me know if you change your mind. I promise it’ll be worth it~”
After putting on some gloves, Adam pulls the cleaning cart towards the wrecked bed and gets to work. Or at least tries to. Adam stares at the bed covered in fluids. He did NOT want to touch any of this.
“Hey, no slacking off!” Some nobody who was manning the camera yells.
Adam flips him the middle finger before focusing his attention back to the set. Carefully, he takes the sheets of the bed and stuffs them into a basket connected to the cart as he mentally makes a note to stop by the laundry room before the end of his shift.
Seriously, fuck everyone in this shit hole. Can’t they just mind their own business? The other day, Adam was totally taking a break and not just slacking off on his cleaning when a worker, a crow sinner, walked up to him.
“Hey, I need this lab cleaned now.”
Adam rolled his eyes. “Fucking hold on. I’ll get there.”
The crow sinner looked like he wanted to say something but instead pulled out a phone and quickly typed something before looking back at Adam. Adam’s brow furrowed in confusion. Seconds later, a quick electric shock coursed through his body.
“Hey-!”
“Get back to work.” The annoyed crow said before walking away. Looks like everyone was made aware of Adam's collar, its purpose, and who to call if he acts out.
Adam stands up and gets back to sweeping the floor. That’s another sinner going on Adam’s personal shit list which has grown very long in the past couple days. This is just great Adam thought. This place wasn’t filled with just degenerates, assholes, and creeps. It was full of narcs as well.
“It’s funny really. I never thought I’d see someone like you working for me.” Val continues. He just can’t leave him alone could he?
“Yeah well, I’m sure nobody did.” Adam grumbles.
“Such a bitchy attitude you have going on. Is that how you lost both your wives?”
Adam froze. He thought he was finally getting the hang of dealing with their invasive commentary but the mere mention of Lilith and Eve brought unexpected feelings of anger, dread, and hurt. God if Lilith knew he was alive down here. He can almost see her face now, laughing at him. At the mercy of the realm she built. Enjoying his misery. The thought pisses Adam off to no end. Fuck that cheating bitch and her short ass homewrecker of a husband.
As for Eve…
The less he thinks about her the better.
“Did I strike a nerve?” Adam didn’t need to see the smirk on Val’s face to know it was there. “Seriously though, you give off such bottom energy. No wonder they left you for someone like Lucifer. Hell, the way he was knocking you around made me a little hot and bothered.” Val bends down to be face to face with Adam.
“Maybe if he dicked you down too you’d be less pissy.”
“SHUT UP YOU BITCH!” Adam screams. Just as quickly as he said it, regret comes in. Shit .
“Well now, that’s not how you speak to your boss.” Val didn’t sound angry. Rather he sounded giddy. After putting one of his hands in his coat pocket, Val fishes out a remote identical to the one Vox had. After making a show of having it, his finger lightly grazes the button. Tempting the other to make the next move. Adam held his breath. Just breathing wrong felt like it might set Val off.
“Adam, what do you think you should do now?” Val asks and Adam hates that he knows what he’s supposed to do next.
“I’m sorry.” Adam manages to get out.
“Aw. How precious. But I think I’m gonna need a little more than that.”
Adam grits his teeth. “I’m sorry for speaking out of term. I won’t do it again.”
Val smiles. “Better.”
The door opens and a small group of people enter the studio. The moth sinner’s attention swiftly changes from Adam to who just came. Surprisingly, it was Vox followed by a group of what he assumed to be scientists.
Since the tour, Adam hadn’t seen much of Vox as he was always busy with something else. At most Adam would get a nod of acknowledgement from him as he walks by. Adam has considered himself lucky for this. Now if only Valentino was as distant.
“Ah Vox, glad to see you here!” Val exclaimed.
Vox quickly glances at Adam before looking back at Val. “Hello Val. Just wanted to stop by and see how our favorite worker was doing.”
Val hesitates and fakes a contemplative look. Given Adam's freak out, he must be debating whether or not he was gonna throw him under the bus. Thankfully, Val decided to be merciful.
“Oh he’s doing great. A little slow in his work but otherwise just fine. He did freak out though.” Val tells Vox. Adam tenses up. Ready for the upcoming shock he was sure was coming.
“But don’t worry. He apologized!”
Vox smiles wide, pleased with this news. “Wow, that's great to hear! Keep up the good work. Say, once you’re done here, why don’t you take the rest of the day off. You’ve earned it.”
Thank God Adam thought. He needs to get out of here. However, a question pops into his head. Do I need to say thank you? Will not saying thank you get me in trouble? Given how petty the people here are, he didn't want to risk it. Adam sticks to a silent nod in acknowledgement and mutters a quiet “Thanks”. It seems to work as Vox turns his attention back to Val.
“How’s the latest batch of love potions going?” Val asks. Vox looks back at the head scientist behind him. He steps in front and in his hands is a bright yellow flask. Adam recognizes him as the crow sinner from earlier this week. The fucking narc!
“Everything is going great. This is proving to be the most effective batch yet. Next to instant effectiveness. An addictive taste. And best of all, those who take it will have no memory of what happens afterwards. It’s perfect!” The crow happily declares. It made Adam’s stomach churn in disgust. The scientist sounded so proud of the date rape drug they made. Oh yeah, these guys are so worth saving Adam thinks bitterly, reminded of a certain blonde headed hellborn.
“With just a couple more changes, we’ll have it ready for mass production. Right now we’re working on the color. No matter what we do, it always comes out a bright yellow. Not the most appealing color I know but I’m sure we’ll have it fixed real soon.” The crow finishes. Val nods, happy with the results.
“Good, good. Get on that now. I’d LIKE to have this up on shelves by next month but we haven’t even gotten started on the promotional work. NOW HURRY THE FUCK UP AND GET ME SOMETHING I CAN ACTUALLY USE!” Val chucks the flask at the crow’s face as he quickly and clumsily manages to catch it before it could fall.
“R-right! We’ll get on that immediately.” With Vox’s silent permission, the crow and the rest of his team hurry out of the studio. Val signs as Vox places a hand around his waist, pulling him closer in an attempt to calm the other.
“Relax Val. Everything is going according to schedule. Everything will be ready by then.” Vox spoke. His tone surprisingly soft.
The two walk off leaving Adam to his work. He gets off early today and would rather be anywhere else. If it was three months ago, Adam would have taken this as his chance to plan an escape. A work around his collar. Now though, he knew better. Escaping right now was impossible. Better to focus on staying out of trouble for now. Even if that meant having to mop up cum off the floor.
Notes:
Hello my dear readers! I just wanted to thank everyone who has been showing this story support! I know I don't respond to comments (I was too nervous at first and by the time I was ready an embarrassingly long time has passed so I just didn't) but just know that I read all of them and they mean the world to me. I'll start replying more.
Thank you for reading!!
