Chapter 1: Zenkai no Zenkaiger wa! (Prologue)

Chapter Text

Last time on... ZENKAIGEEEEERRRR!!!!

The Earth and Kikaitopia, a world full of mechanical aliens, merged into the world we now know as, Zenkaitopia! It took some time to get used to, but eventually, the humans and the kikainoids were able to co-exist in the same world. Unfortunately, the evil dynasty, the Tojitendo, wanted total rule overall, human and kikainoid alike. They used the power of entire worlds they had captured from across the multiverse. Keeping them inside gears and using them to power their army!

However, one person rose up to stand in their way. The high-spirited, friendly human, who's always up for doing something great. Kaito Goshikita! And with the help of yours truly, Sechan, he dawned the powers his parents had left him and became, Zenkaiser! Teaming up with his newfound Kikainoid friends, Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon, the five of them transformed into heroes of justice and became, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger! Many battles were fought. Defeating and liberating one world after another.

Fighting enemies, gaining allies, uncovering secrets and mysteries. It was all one crazy ride! Until the day finally came that the Tojitendo were finally defeated, and all the captured worlds were set free!

With the Tojitendo defeated, The Zenkaiger and I can now enjoy our time together. Traveling to every world they can! They've been to a whole lot of already. See new things and meeting new people. Every day became a new experience.

I can't wait to see what world we go to next!

World 213

It was a late Sunday night. And everyone's favorite unicorn-turned-human, Sunset Shimmer, was getting ready for a goodnight sleep. Brushed her teeth, changed into her pajamas, all the normal things one would do. But right before she went to sleep, she did one thing most people wouldn't find so normal. Write in her magic journal to write to her pony pen pal, Twilight Sparkle. Who's only the Princess of Friendship and ruler of an entire nation!

What does one even write to someone that important on a daily basis? Sure, Sunset obviously doesn't have the most normal life either. But between her and Princess Twilight, there's really no comparison. Especially lately. Before she could tell her about how she and her friends stopped a plant controlling camp counselor, a time altering relic, or a psycho social influencer with a magic phone. That last one took a little extra writing just to explain everything.

Point is, lately things have been a bit, well boring. No magic problem, no adventures. It's like all her adventures just came to a complete stop. What could she write now? How she passed her algebra test? How she beat the final boss on her new game, The Wrath of Tirek? Oh yeah, that'll seem impressive. That said, she did have something to write to the princess about this time.

Dear Princess Twilight,

Been some time since I've last wrote. At least not just to say hi. I finally took you up on your invite to check out Ponyville. Wish you could've been there though. But I was told you had to deal with a misunderstanding between the griffons and the yaks. That must've been fun. Starlight Glimmer was able to show me around. It sure was something. It's definitely much smaller, but strangely, kinda similar to Canterlot City. Minus the obvious differences of course. The places, the ponies. It all had a certain charm to it. I see why you liked it there so much. Everyone was so, well friendly. It was getting dark by the time I came back to Canterlot City.

Honestly, she might of had more fun than she expected. Sure it was a relatively small and normal town, but it was something she missed. Not so much Equestria, but just the thrill of doing something different than her, now kinda basic, lifestyle.

Next time I'm in Equestria, let's make sure to meet up. And I'll want to hear about all your latest adventures.

Your Friend, Sunset Shimmer

Having closed and put away her journal, she laid down in her bed. Though getting to sleep proved difficult considering everything on her mind.

Things sure have changed in Equestria since she left. Dragons, griffons, and even changelings are getting along. There are five Alicorn princesses now. Starswirl the Bearded and the other pillars are alive! Things over in that world got crazy.

As for this world, very similar but VERY different. Life just seems to move forward, without anything really changing. I mean when you have magical powers but no reason to use them, you might as well just be a normal teenage girl.

Don't get her wrong, she loves it here. But she can't help but wonder what things would have been like if she had stayed on Equestria. Or what if the mirror portal had taken her to some other world. Are there any other worlds? How many? Or is two different worlds enough for her?

Well, thinking about all that now didn't do her any good. After all, she needed her rest for school tomorrow. And who knows. Maybe Sunset will get lucky. And something amazing will happen tomorrow.

After all, it's not every night a giant alien spaceship hovers way above the city, completely unknown to everyone below.

The Next Day

It was a beautiful Monday morning. The sun was rising, the birds were singing, and everything was... exactly the same as the last time Sunset was on her way to school! Take a shower, change out of her pajamas, run to school. Her daily routine really has become repetitive. Oh well, she can't complain too much. After all, the one great thing about doing the same thing every day, she can always count on hanging out with her best friends in the whole world. In fact, there's one of them right ahead of her.

"Hey, Twilight!" The former unicorn called out. "Wait up!" Sunset ran up to her glasses-wearing friend, but the closer she got, the slower her pace became. Because something about Twilight was different. That something was her clothes. For some reason, Twilight was wearing a black blouse attached with a sailor-style collar, a pleated skirt, black penny loafers, and a red neckerchief! I'm mean, Twilight was never the group fashionista, that honor belonged to Rarity, but this is just... just... why?

"Oh, hey... Sunset?" Twilight turned towards her friend, looking just as confused as Sunset. The two stared at each other, wondering who's gonna say something first.

I guess Sunset might as well speak up. "Uh, Twi, what are you wearing?"

"What am I wearing?" Twilight asked. "What are you wearing?!"

The same clothes she wears almost every day. "Uh, my usual clothes." Why is Twilight acting like she's the one wearing weird clothes?

"Yeah but, to school?" Twilight asked.

"Uh yeah, now let's get back to you." The one who's actually wearing the unusual outfit. "What the heck are you wearing?"

"My school uniform, of course." She answered, getting back to her walk to school.

School uniform?! Sunset would say this had to have been some kind of joke. But Twilight said it as if it was so obvious. Like she really did have to wear that ridiculous getup. Noticing that Twi was getting ahead of her, Sunset quickly followed after her, mainly for follow-up questions.

"Since when does CHS have a school uniform?" She's been going to that school longer than you have, so she pr would have known if it had a dress code.

"CHS? You mean THS." THS?! Now you're really not making any sense, Twilight!

"THS?" Sunset couldn't wrap her head around it. It's not like Twilight to make such little sense. "Okay Twilight. I'm gonna need you to explain right... about... now?" As Sunset and Twilight stepped onto schoolgrounds, Sunset couldn't believe her eyes. It's not just Twilight. Everyone is wearing a uniform! Not only that, but perched upon the stone block, where the mighty Wonder Colt used to be, was some kind of weird symbol. She couldn't describe it, but the symbol was like nothing she's seen before. Almost... alien? "What in the world?!"

Sunset wanted something different to happen in her life. And she's about to get more than she asked for.

No.1-Kai! Same School, Different Worlds?!

World 213

Sunset stepped forward into her school. Or at least, she thinks it's her school. It looks like her school, for the most part, but it's just so weird. Why is everyone in uniform? And what's with the weird symbol on the stone block outside? What does it mean? What does any of this mean?! You need to figure this out. Think Sunset, think Sunset, think...

"Sunset?!"

"Wah!" Okay, think later. "Oh, yes Twilight?"

"Are you okay?" Twilight asked with concern. "You've been standing there, staring for almost five minutes."

"I'm... fine." Even though, nothing about this is fine.

"Are you sure? You've been acting strange all morning." Again, with the making it sound like she's the one acting strange!

"Y-Yeah. Just... uh, lost in thought." This can't be real! Can it? "Uh, Hey Twilight, where are our friends? I'd like to talk to them before class." Maybe one of them knows what the heck is going on here.

"There probably already in class." Twilight took a quick look around to make sure the coast was clear. "And so should we. You know how the principal gets about tardy students."

The principal! "Yeah, you're right Twi," Sunset said, playing along. "But I better go speak with the principal. You know, about getting a new uniform for today. I'll see you later."

Not even waiting to hear Twilight's response, Sunset took off like a rocket. Hopefully talking with Principal Celestia will shed some light on this whole situation. The sooner she gets some answers, the sooner she can set everything right. Hopefully. Unfortunately, Sunset was running so fast that she didn't notice the wet floor sign she zipped passed. You can probably guess what happened next.

"Woooaahhh!" Yeah, she slipped and fell, just barely managing to catch herself before she hit the hard floor. It was then that the shadow of a certain someone was cast over her.

"And that's why the principal has rules against running in the halls." The figure looming above Sunset said.

Sunset got up on her knees before turning to the person behind her. "Sorry. I was just in a hurry to see... Principal Celestia!"

In a strange twist of fate, the person standing behind her was none other than Celestia herself! In the hallway? With a mop? And a bucket of water?!

"Principal Celestia?" The seemingly non-principal said. "Now, wouldn't that be nice? But no, I'm just the janitor."

The janitor? Janitor Celestia?! You've got to be kidding me! "Janitor... wait what?" Sunset said. "Then who's..."

"Cutting class are we, Sunset Shimmer?"

Sunset took a look behind her to find Vice-Principal, well possibly Vice-Principal, Luna standing there with her arms crossed and a look of pure disappointment. "V-Vice Principal Luna?" At this point, there's no telling if she's vice-principal or not.

"Yes, it's me. Vice-Principal Luna." Well, at least something's the same around here. "Which is bad news for people like you who think that the rules don't apply to them. And why aren't you in your school uniform?"

Oh yeah, that. "My uh, uniform got ruined in the wash last night." Sunset lied. "I was hoping I could see the principal about getting a new one."

The vice-principal sighed before helping Sunset to her feet. "Very well, I'll take you to see the principal. And then it's straight to class."

"Yes ma'am," Sunset complied. At least she's still getting to see the principal. Now she just has no clue who that principal is.

"Very good," Luna said. "Now follow me and leave my sister to her job."

The two walked off, leaving Celestia back to her job. "Yes, because I was in such a hurry to get back to work." With a roll of her eyes, Celestia got back to mopping floors and picking up trash.

Luna and Sunset came to the principal's office and Sunset couldn't be more curious. Who could possibly be the principal if not Celestia or even Luna? Well, whoever's behind that door, she'll have to be ready for anything.

Luna opened the door, letting Sunset inside first, before addressing the principal. "Sir, I have a student in need of a new uniform."

"Really?" The principal said. The principal was sitting at his desk. Sunset couldn't see who it was because his swivel chair was turned to the back wall. She didn't recognize the voice either, so that doesn't help. "Well, I can't have that. She must have a new uniform."

The principal turned in his chair to reveal himself and the person Sunset saw sitting in the chair was nothing even remotely close to any idea of who she was expecting to see. Like at all! In fact, not even sure if she could call who she saw a person at all.

"Thank you so much..." Luna said as the principal fully turned towards her. "Principal Academy World."

Out of all the weird things Sunset has seen, this had to be one of the weirdest. The principal, he's... he's... well she's not quite sure what he is! His body is made of steel, and he's got gears all over his body. and a tacky purple tie. But the weirdest part is definitely his head. It's literally shaped like a school building! As unbelievable as this is, the best thing for Sunset to do is to play it cool and wait until the she can come up with a plan.

"May I have your name Miss?" The building headed principal asked.

"Oh, uh, it's Sunset Shimmer... sir." She still can't believe what she's talking to right now.

"Miss Shimmer, I'm in a generous mood today," Acadamy World stated. "So, I'm going to let you off with a warning. But don't let us catch you without your uniform again. Or there will be consequences."

And just like that, with a snap of his fingers, Sunset's clothes were instantly replaced with a uniform identical to all the other girls attending this school. At this point, it's clear that this Acadamy World is responsible for all the changes that had happened to CHS. Now she just has to figure out how to change everything back.

"Uh, thank you Principal Sir," Sunset said trying to act casual. "I'll get straight to class now."

"Very good. Go and learn the values of the Tojitendo way!" Academy World said with pride.

"Toji-what now?" Sunset mumbled, just barely being heard by Academy World or Luna.

"Hmm?" The principal asked.

"Oh uh, just excited to get back to class." Nice save Sunset.

"Very good. Now do hurry!"

"Yes sir." With that, Sunset made her to her first class.

After that encounter, Sunset had just one thought on her mind. How the heck did all this happen! Okay yes, it's probably the work of that Acadamy World thing. But where did he come from?! And why is it taking over her school?! She has to figure out a way to set everything right. But how? I mean, it's not like the solution is gonna hit her right away.

TTHHHUUUUUDDD!!!!!!!

Well, something hit her. Or I guess I should say someone. As in, someone had run straight into Sunset, knocking her down.

"Oof," Sunset exclaimed as her rear made contact with the hard floor. "Ow. Okay, that rule against running in the hallways, actually kinda valid."

"Oh, sorry, sorry," the person responsible for knocking her down blurted out. "Let me help you up." The guy held out his hand, as close to her as possible strangely enough, to help Sunset back on her feet.

Sunset looked up to the person, but was surprised to see it was someone she didn't recognize. It was a boy who looked kinda normal. Not a weird robot thing, so that's a plus. Realizing she's been staring for too long; Sunset shook away her thoughts and accepted the boy's hand.

"Thanks." As Sunset got back on her feet, she took one last quick look at the boy to make sure she didn't recognize him. "Uh, sorry are you new here? I can't seem to remember name?" Or your very existence.

The boy's face lit up as he extended his hand again. This time for a friendly handshake. "My name's Kaito! Kaito Goshikita!"

"Kaito... Goshikita?" You won't hear many names like that around here. Sunset excepted Kaito's friendly handshake. Though, he shook with a bit more vigor than she expected. "That's a pretty interesting name. My name's Sunset Shimmer, by the way."

"Woah, your names pretty interesting too!"

Is it? Names like that are pretty common here. This gut must be some kind of foreign exchange student. But is it just coincidence that he shows up as soon as her whole school is turned upside-down? Maybe she should ask some questions.

"So, Kaito," Sunset said as the two made their way to their first class. "Seeing how you're not in class either, I'm guessing you were late too. May I ask why?"

Kaito turned to Sunset right before saying the honest truth. "Oh, I was trying to bungee jump of the tallest tower in the city."

"Huh!" Sunset wanted to think that was a joke, but just the look on his face and the way he said it. He was serious! Bet he was thinking of the jump right then. Jumping off and going "Yahoo!" or something.

"Unfortunately, I was thrown out before I had the chance." Yeah, obviously you were.

"Why would you even want to do that?" Sunset asked.

"Because no one ever has before!" Kaito said with much excitement. "I want to be the first person in the world to do something amazing!"

"And that amazing thing is bungee jumping of a building?" Yeah, sounds logical.

But Kaito shook his head in response. "Mm-mm. Not just that. You never know when you'll be able to do a first."

"A first?" Sunset wasn't exactly following.

"Mm-hmm! There's a chance to do a first every day. And when you find it, you go after it! At Full Power..." Kaito suddenly stopped mid-sentence. Like the words he was about to say were more important than he thought. He knows it's something he says often, but he can't help but feel like he's forgotten something. "Full Power Non-Stop?" He mumbled to himself. Were those words reminding him of something? "Hmm?"

"What was that?" Sunset asked

Kaito shook his head, to ease Sunset's concern and shake away his previous thoughts. "It's nothing." He reassured. "Come on, let's get to class!" And with that, Kaito ran off, once again breaking the 'no running in the halls' rule.

Now, once again, alone in the hallway, Sunset can get back to figuring out what's going on around here. But first, to find her friends!

Sunset made her way to gym class, and class was in session. The students there were busy with rigorous exercises. Some were even to the point of nearly passing out. Sunset herself included. She's lost track of how many laps she's already ran. Although she was having it rough, there as one person here doing pretty well. And she's about to come running up to her once again. Her very athletic friend, Rainbow Dash.

After waiting for the moment no one else was around her, Sunset took the opportunity to speak with her. "Oh, *huff* hey *huff-huff* Rainbow Dash." Sunset said between breathes.

"Sunset?" Rainbow said with bit of worry. "You know we're *huff* not allowed to talk *huff-huff* while in class, *huff* unless spoken to." Seriously Rainbow?

"Well, *huff* now you've been spoken to." Sunset said, exploiting the loophole in Rainbow's sentence. "So, *huff* do you remember gym class being like this? I mean, *huff-huff* doesn't this all seem a bit... off?"

Rainbow looked at Sunset with a puzzled expression. "Off?" she began, her voice strained from the exertion, "This is just how it's always been. *huff-huff* The Tojitendo way of learning is strict and disciplined."

Okay, let's try a different question. "Well then, what about our coach?" Sunset panted, her eyes scanning the room. "Doesn't he seem at all... unusual to you?"

Rainbow looked over to the coach, and normally, the coach may have seemed unusual. He was, yet another robot! His head is red and had, what appeared to be, a metal mohawk on his head. He's wearing the usual clothes you'd expect a gym coach to wear, but with the same tacky, purple tie that Academy World was wearing.

"You mean Coach Juran?" Rainbow replied with a smile, not seeming to catch Sunset's concern. "What about him?"

Sunset looks back to the coach in question. Who... actually didn't seem so bad. Right now, he was watching a student who was having some trouble keeping up. Another one of Sunset's friends, actually. Fluttershy. And she could barely even keep standing.

"Hey kiddo," The coach said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Why don't you take..." Coach Juran stopped for a second but then finished his sentence. Only, the second half of the sentence sounded a bit harsher than expected. "...another lap slacker! There's no rest in the Tojitendo! Go, Go, Go, Go!!"

Fluttershy jumped from being startled by the sudden change in the coach and then ran as fast as her aching legs could go.

Sunset winced at the harshness of his tone, and her thoughts raced. She knew she had to be careful. If she said anything out of place, it could blow her cover. But seeing her friend like this... it was more than she could bear.

"Like I said," Rainbow replied, her eyes never leaving the coach, "this is just the Tojitendo way."

Sunset nodded, trying to process everything. But before she could say another word, the bell rang, signaling the end of gym.

The next class was home economics, and Sunset had managed to get together with Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Unfortunately, they were just as clueless about the robotic takeover as the rest of the school.

Speaking of which, the teacher in this class is yet another robot. A yellow one with cat ears and cord-like dreadlocks. With, of course, the same tie as the other two robots. Apparently, his name is Gaon. He sure does look like he loves cooking. Maybe he's a robot chef when he's not... you know, taking over schools.

"Okay class, time to present your dishes!" Gaon announced.

Sunset sure was glad she got paired up with Pinkie. Because she had absolutely no idea what she was making. Apparently, it was something called a "Gear-Powered Fusion Cake". And it looks as appetizing as it sounds. An all Grey blob of a cake, with what seemed to be wires sticking out of it.

Everyone brought the exact same looking cakes to the front, each one a dull grey color with no discernible flavor. It was like an assembly line of mass-produced boredom, each one more lifeless than the last. But then there was Pinkie's, and Sunset's by technicality, cake. A beacon of color in a sea of monotony. It was a spectacle of pink frosting, sprinkles, and rainbows, looking like it was plucked straight out of a cartoon. She just couldn't resist adding her own touch. The stark contrast made Gaon's eyes widen with what Sunset hoped was surprise.

"Ah, Ms. Pie, your cake is... so cute! Sunset couldn't help but crack a smile at Gaon's sudden shift in tone. "And I bet it tastes as delightful as it looks!" Pinkie beamed with pride.

But just as quickly as the warmth filled the room, it shattered as Gaon's expression grew stern. "However, this is not the Tojitendo way!" Before anyone could react, he raised his arm and smacked the cake, sending it flying into the air in a burst of frosting and sprinkles. The class gasped in shock, while Pinkie's face fell, her eyes filling with tears.

"Why'd you..." Sunset managed catch herself before finishing the question, not wanting to blow her cover. But her eyes were filled with a mix of anger and confusion. She couldn't believe what she just saw. Why would he do that? Why would anyone do that?

But she had no time to ponder as the bell for next period rang. The class quickly dispersed, leaving a saddened Pinkie behind. "It's okay, Pinkie." Applejack comforted, patting her on the shoulder. "Your cake was the best looking one here."

"Thanks, Applejack." Pinkie sniffled, trying to hold back the tears.

Next was English class, and as Sunset was met by yet another robotic figure. This one was a pink female robot with a long black ponytail and a heart on her forehead, who introduced herself as Magine. "Mmm-Mmm-Mmm," the teacher seemed to keep mumbling as she frantically paces around her desk.

Fortunately, she was distracted by trying to clean all the papers on her desk. This gives Sunset the chance to whisper over to Rarity, who's sitting right next to her. "Hey, Rarity. What do you think of all this?"

Rarity looked up from her work. "What's there to think about? This is just another day at Tojitendo High, darling!"

"And the name Canterlot High doesn't mean anything to you?" Sunset whispered urgently.

Rarity gave her a puzzled look, blinking rapidly. "Tojitendo High is our school, Sunset. I don't know what you're talking about."

"Right. Of course not," Sunset mumbled to herself, trying to maintain her cool. Sunset looked back at Magine trying to finish cleaning her desk. Weirdly enough, it somehow looked twice as messy than when she looked away just a minute ago.

This whole day had been one weird event after another, but as lunchtime had arrived, Sunset still had no clue what to do about the robot takeover. Alright, no more playing subtle! She gonna go grab her friends and do whatever it takes to convince them that something is off here!

"Tune tune tune tune tune!"

What was that?!

Before Sunset could even consider the question, she saw something coming, well, flying, her way. A bird? No, it was a robotic bird with a red and white body and a metallic yellow beak. It was like something straight out of a sci-fi anime. But I guess, considering what she's seen today, that's not too far-fetched anymore.

"Tune tune tune tune!" It squawked as it flew directly towards her. Sunset tried to dodge, but she was too slow. It grabbed her by the hair and pulled her in a different direction. "Hey, let go!" She yelled, trying to pull away, but the thing was surprisingly strong for its size.

It dragged her into the nearest bathroom, which was thankfully empty. Sunset stumbled into a stall and looked up, her eyes widening as the bird perched on her lap.

"Seriously?!" Sunset exclaimed. "Now what are you supposed to be? This school’s weird mascot?"

"I'm no macot, tune!" The bird chirped. "And I need your help, tune!"

Sunset blinked. Did she just hear that right? "Wait, you can talk?"

"Of course, tune! I'm Secchan, the robotic assistant of the Zenkaiger!" The bird announced. "And I need your help to save our worlds from the clutches of the evil Tojitendo!"

Sunset's mind raced. This was definitely a lot to take in. "Okay, okay. Let's start from the beginning. First of all, you know about the Tojitendo?" The robotic bird, now known as Secchan, bobbed its head in a nod. "And you want my help?"

"Yes," Secchan chirped. "I've been watching, and you're the only one who seems to know that things aren't right here, tune."

"Tune?" Sunset questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Tune!"

Moving on. "Okay, so what exactly are the Tojitendo, and why are they here?"

"The Tojitendo were an evil alien dynasty, tune," Secchan began. "They sought to conquer every world they could get their hands on. Wanting to expand their territory. They were about as bad as it gets, tune."

"Were?" Sunset echoed, her confusion deepening.

"Yes," Secchan corrected. "Though the Tojitendo were strong, they weren't match for the Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, tune! They fought bravely, and in the end, the Zenkaiger triumphed, tune!"

"Zenkaiger?" How many times is he going to say something she doesn't understand today? "What's a Zenkaiger?"

"They're heroes of justice, tune!" Secchan answered with excitement in its mechanical voice. "A group of friends that came together to fight against the Tojitendo's tyranny, tune!"

One thing still doesn't add up. Well, one thing that she's specifically thinking of at this moment. "Well, if these Zenkaigers already defeated the Tojitendo, how are they taking over our school?"

Secchan looked at her with a slightly sad expression, if a robotic bird could have one. "It's most likely that someone is attempting to revive the Tojitendo," he chirped. "But how and why, I don't know, tune."

Sunset's eyes narrowed. "Okay, but what do they want with our school?" she questioned, her curiosity piqued.

Secchan tilted his head slightly, the mechanical whirring within it audible as it processed the question. "I'm afraid I don't know that either, tune," he replied. "But I do know that if we don't act soon, the Tojitendo will spread their influence far beyond this school."

Sunset frowned, her mind racing. "So, if these Zenkaigers defeated the Tojitendo before, why don't we just get them to do it again?" she suggested hopefully.

Secchan's eyes dimmed slightly, and it looked away for a moment before speaking. "They can't, tune," he replied solemnly. "The Zenkaigers have also fallen under the power of Academy World. They're here, in this school, just like everyone else."

"What? They're here?!" Sunset's eyes went wide with shock. "Where?!"

Secchan cocked his head slightly. "The leader of the Zenkaiger, Zenkaiser, thinks he's just a normal student here," it revealed. "He doesn't remember who he truly is, tune."

He thinks he's a student? Then first, Sunset needs to talk to him. "Okay, who is he? What's he like? Maybe if we talk to him, we can remind him of who he is." Talking didn't go so well for her friends, but hey, what other choice did she have?

Secchan's beak opened slightly as he spoke, "His real name is... Kaito Goshikita, tune."

Sunset felt a jolt of recognition run through her. "Kaito? The new guy?" Obviously it was him! Why else would some random new guy show up at the same time all these alien robots?

"I tried to get to him," Secchan continued, its metallic voice sounding slightly defeated, "but he's always on the move, never stays in one place for too long. And when he does, he's surrounded by other students and faculty, tune. Faculty all currently working under Academy World. I couldn't get to him, but maybe another student could. Someone who could blend in, who wouldn't raise suspicion, tune."

Sunset nodded slowly, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Okay, I'll find him," she decided.

"Good," Secchan nodded, looking relieved. "Now as for the other Zenkaigers..."

But before Secchan could finish, the robotic bird was abruptly interrupted by the shrill sound of the school bell, signaling the end of lunch. There's no way that was enough time for anyone to eat a full meal.

"Oh, shoot!" Sunset exclaimed, jumping to her feet as the bell rang. She had to get to class before she was noticed missing. "I need to go. You can tell me about the other Zenkaigers later. I'll find Kaito, but for now, just stay hidden until I do."

Secchan chirped in agreement before flying out the bathroom window, leaving Sunset with a new mission. She had to find Kaito Goshikita, the leader of the Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, in the middle of a robot-controlled school. Easy, right?

Taking her seat in history class, Sunset's thoughts remained on how she's going to find Kaito without arousing any suspicion. But how? What would be her approach? And where in this entire school could he be?

"Hey, Sunset!"

"Hey, Kaito." Kaito?! Wow, that actually was easy. Sunset's thoughts came to a screeching halt as she looked up to see none other than Kaito Goshikita sliding into the desk next to her. "Kaito!"

"Eh-hem!"

Sunset's head snapped to the person who had just called her out. It was the history teacher. And, oh what a surprise, he was also a robot. This time, however, he was a bulky, almost blocky, blue robot, wearing the same purple tie and glasses. Do robots need glasses?

"Miss Shimmer, Mister Goshikita, is there something you two would like to share with the class?" The teacher's voice resonated through the room, his glasses reflecting the harsh fluorescent lights.

"No sir, Mister Vroon," Kaito said, his eyes as innocent as a newborn fawn's. "We were just discussing the upcoming test."

Vroon's robotic eyes narrowed slightly. "Ah, I see. Well, remember to keep your conversations to a minimum during class. Now, let's proceed with the lesson."

"Yes, Mister Vroon," Sunset mumbled under her breath. She couldn't believe it. Kaito was sitting right next to her. Now she just needs to figure out a way to get him alone. And without Vroon noticing. Maybe if she whispers really softly...

But before she could get the chance, a sudden, high-pitched "Achoo!" filled the air. Sunset's head snapped around to see Twilight, her cheeks pink with embarrassment, holding a hand over her mouth. But what Sunset saw as just a sneeze, the fear in Twilight's eyes suggested something more.

The room froze. Vroon's head whipped around, his robotic eyes narrowing on Twilight. With a swiftness that belied his blocky frame, he reached to the side of his desk and pushed a button.

A split second later, the air was filled with the sound of rushing wind, and Twilight's pen blew up as if it were a tiny bomb! Leaving the poor girl's face covered in smoke, Her hair a mess, and her glasses askew.

"There will be no more disruptions!" Vroon announced, his robotic voice echoing through the suddenly silent room. The class stared in shock at Twilight, who was desperately trying to pat down the ink smudges on her face and straighten her glasses.

Sunset couldn't believe what she just witnessed, And Kaito seemed a bit unsure himself. Okay, so even whispering's out of the question. What now?

Huh? She's got a pen. She's got paper. He's sitting right next to her. Hmm... ugh, passing notes in class is so cliclé. But hey, if it works, it works. She scribbled down her message as fast and as discreetly as she could, trying not to draw the attention of Vroon's eyes.

Sunset folded the note into a tight little square and waited for the perfect moment. As Mr. Vroon droned on about the historical significance of the first Tojitendo overlord, or something like that, she took a deep breath and quickly slid the note onto Kaito's desk. She didn't dare look at him, but she could feel his eyes on the paper. She pretended to focus on her own notes, her heart racing like a pegasus in flight.

Kaito's eyes darted to the paper, his curiosity piqued. He looked up to make sure Vroon wasn't watching and unfolded the note with the same subtle urgency. "Meet me in the hall after class. It's really really REALLY important," it read. His gaze flickered towards Sunset, a question in his eyes. She nodded slightly before looking back at the chalkboard, her expression unreadable.

Rising from her chair, Sunset raised her hand. "Mister Vroon, may I use the restroom?"

The robot teacher paused mid-sentence, his eyes scanning her before nodding. "You may go, Miss Shimmer. But do not dawdle. You know the Tojitendo policy on bathroom breaks."

"Yes, sir," Sunset said, her voice as calm as a moonlit lake. She collected her things and made her way to the door.

Kaito, understanding the unspoken signal, waited a beat before raising his own hand. "Excuse me, Mister Vroon?"

The robot's gaze shifted to him. "What is it, Mister Goshikita?"

"I'm sorry, but I need to go too," Kaito said with a forced cough, playing along.

Vroon sighed. "Fine. But be quick about it. The Tojitendo way does not tolerate laziness."

Sunset and Kaito practically bolted from the room once Vroon's gaze returned to the board. They took a few steps down the hall, ensuring no one was around to hear them. "So, what's so important that you had to drag me out of class?" Kaito asked, his curiosity clear as day.

"I need to talk to you about something," Sunset began, her voice low and urgent. "Do you remember anything about being a... a hero?"

Kaito blinked, his expression a mix of confusion and amusement. "A hero?" He laughed. "What's that got to do with history class?"

History... Ugh, okay then. "Nothing! Look, I really need you to remember, Kaito. You're the leader of the Zenkaiger."

The color drained from Kaito's face. His eyes grew wide, his laughter dying on his lips. "Zenkaiger? What's that?"

"Secchan told me," Sunset whispered. "You guys defeated the Tojitendo once, but now they're back and they're taking over our school."

"Secchan?" The name did seem to ring a bell, but Kaito couldn't quite place it.

"Yeah, Secchan," Sunset nodded. "Hold on, let me see if I can find him." She turned away and started calling for the little robotic bird as loudly as she could without attracting too much attention. "Secchan! Secchan!"

To her surprise, Secchan didn't take long to arrive, fluttering down from the ceiling vent and landing on her shoulder. "You called, tune?"

Sunset nodded and pointed at Kaito, her eyes wide with excitement. "Look who I found!"

Secchan's eyes lit up like the Fourth of July. "Kaito!" He chirped before launching himself off her shoulder and into Kaito's arms. "K-Kaito, it's so good to see you again!"

Kaito stumbled back slightly, caught off guard by the tiny metal bird throwing itself at him. "Wait, what?!" he exclaimed, his arms awkwardly wrapping around the robotic creature, before flashing him a smile full of curiosity. "Woah! Who are you?! You seem cool!"

If it were possible, Secchan would have she'd a year right then. "Kaito it's me, Secchan. We've been together since you were a little boy, tune," he explained. "You have to remember, tune! This world needs you to defeat Academy World!"

"Principal Academy World?" Kaito echoed, his voice filled with doubt.

Sunset nodded fervently. "Yes, Kaito, I know it sounds crazy, but it's true!" She grabbed his shoulders, her eyes pleading. "This isn't how this school is supposed to be! It used to be a place where me and my friends laughed, learned, and had fun together. Right now, you're the only one who can fix this."

Kaito's gaze searched hers, looking for any sign of deceit. But all he found was earnestness and a hint of desperation. "Your friends?"

"Yeah," Sunset said, her voice catching in her throat. "Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Twilight Sparkle. We used to have the best times here. But now..." She trailed off, her eyes falling to the floor. "Everything's just... wrong."

She was serious. Kaito could see it in her eyes, hear it in her voice. This wasn't some kind of joke or a weird prank. She was genuinely concerned. And if what Secchan said was true, then this was no time to be skeptical.

Secchan flew out of Kaito's arms, hovering in the air before them. "Kaito, I know it's a lot to take in, but you are the hero known as Zenkaiser, tune!" The little robotic bird's voice was filled with a sense of urgency and hope. "You and your team, the Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, defeated the Tojitendo before. And now you must do it again, tune!"

Suddenly, Secchan's beak opened, and out dropped a small, golden gear into Kaito's palm. It glinted under the harsh fluorescent lights, the image of a helmeted, white hero emblazoned on its surface, with the number forty-five etched beside it. Kaito stared at it, his eyes widening.

"This gear?!" Did it work? Does he really remember?!

"So, you remember," Sunset said quietly, hope blossoming in her voice.

"Nuh-uh." Well, don't get their hopes up like that!

The words were like a sledgehammer to Sunset and Secchan's hearts. The hope that had been building in the air was shattered into a million pieces.

"But," Kaito continued, holding the golden gear up to the light, "I can't ignore this feeling." He looked at Sunset and Secchan, his eyes searching theirs. "I may not remember, but I can feel it in my heart that something's wrong here."

Sunset's eyes lit up. Maybe there was still a chance.

"I can feel it too," Kaito murmured, his thumb tracing the contours of the golden gear in his hand. "School is supposed to be a place to make friends. To learn and have fun, right? But today... everyone just seems so... sad. I don't think it's supposed to be this bad. I mean, how could any school be this bad. And if this really is some kind of evil plan, then I've got to do something about it."

Sunset's hope grew stronger. "That's the spirit," she said with a smile.

Kaito responded with a bigger smile. "I've made up my mind!" He declared. "I'm going to see where helping you two takes me! And until I get some results-" He raised his fist high in the air. "-I'll go Full Power Non-Stop!"

And with that declaration, something clicked inside Kaito's mind. What was it. The words he just spoke, he said it before! But for what reason? There was something he had to do before! This gear in his hand, it does belong to him. Where did he get it? Someone made it for him. No! Two someones! His mom and dad, they made it! But for what reason? It was... it was... to protect the world!

Secchan and Sunset watched as a wave of realization washed over Kaito's face. His eyes grew distant, lost in a flood of memories that had been buried beneath layers of a fabricated reality. The gears, the battles, the friends he had made - it all rushed back to him. He knows who he is!

"Secchan?" Kaito mumbled, turning back to them with newfound conviction. The robotic bird hovered closer, chirping with excitement. "Secchan!"

"Kaito!" Secchan exclaimed, flying back into his arms. "You remember, tune!"

Sunset watched as Kaito and Secchan embraced, their bond rekindling in front of her very eyes. Hopefully soon, she'll be able to do the same with her friends.

Secchan was the first to break the silence, his voice quivering with excitement. "Kaito, what happened to you and the others? When I came back, you all were gone, tune."

"I'd like to know that too," Sunset added, leaning against the lockers with her arms crossed over her chest.

Kaito took a deep breath, followed by a quick nod. "Okay then. It all started when we first came to this world," Kaito began as he prepared to explain how everything in this world changed.

Notes:

Okay so, originally this was gonna be a longer chapter. But I was worried about it running too long. At least while I'm still trying to get the hang of writing a crossover story. Character portrayal is still my biggest worry. An using two casts of characters has me even more nervous. So, I'm testing the waters. The next chapter will be the second half of this one. (Or depending on how long it is, I may just add the rest to this chapter later. I don't know) Let me know any improvements you think are needed or just what you think of the story so far. And look forward to the next part. Coming as possible.

Chapter 3: Dai Ik-kai! Onaji Gakkō, Chigau Sekai?! (Part 2)

Notes:

Full Disclaimer: as the new author of this fanfic, this is my first time writing any fanfic. So, please bare with me. I'm not the best at character descriptions, so you may have to look up the Zenkaiger characters if you're unfamiliar with the series.

Also, while the next chapter was meant to be a part of this one, and is almost finished, I decided to split them to not make the chapters too long. So the chapter before this will be part 1, this one part 2, and the next one will be the third and final part of the first "episode" in this story.

That's all I have to say. Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments, and the next chapter should be finished soon

Chapter Text

World 213

Today was by far the weirdest school day Sunset has ever had. And she's had some doozies! Still, even on her standards, she could barely fathom what she's been through in just the past few hours. Her school has been completely changed. Taken over by an evil robotic alien dynasty called the Tojitendo..The former principal, Celestia, is now the janitor and has been replaced by an alien robot with a school building for a head, known as Academy World. And worst of all, she's the only one who knew anything was different. Even her best friends had no idea this wasn't the way their school had always been. Plus, a supposed team of superheroes is here at her school. The Zenkaiger. Who, apparently, consists of five people here at school. Including their leader, the strange new kid, Kaito Goshikita. Too bad the Zenkaiger had also been brainwashed by Academy World. Fortunately, with the help of the robot bird, Secchan, they were able to restore Kaito's memories. And he's about to explain what the heck is going on around here!

"Kaito, what happened to you and the others?" Secchan Asked. "When I came back, you all were gone, tune."

"I'd like to know that too," Sunset added, leaning against the lockers with her arms crossed over her chest.

Kaito took a deep breath, followed by a quick nod. "Okay then. It all started when we first came to this world," Kaito began as he prepared to explain how everything in this world changed. "Secchan and I were traveling through the worlds with our friends. Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon."

"Wait, hold on," Sunset interrupted. "Those four teachers are actually your friends? They're the other Zenkaiger?" So not every alien robot here is evil.

"Mm-hmm," Kaito nodded proudly.

"And what did you mean by 'traveling through the worlds'?" Like how she goes to Equestria and back?

Secchan turned towards Sunset, eager to explain. "One of my functions allows me to create portals to any world within the multiverse," he chirped, his metallic eyes gleaming with pride.

What?! Any world?! Just like that? Sunset's mind raced with questions, but she had to keep it cool. "So, after you came to... this world?"

Kaito nodded. "Yesterday, we came to this world to see what cool adventures we could have here. That's when we saw Academy World here at your school."

Flashback Starts

It was a peaceful day at Canterlot High. Mainly because it was Sunday and there were no students or teachers to disrupt the tranquility. But then, out of the blue, a swirling vortex of color and light appeared in the courtyard. The portal grew larger and larger until it was the size of a small car. And out of this whirlwind of color came five figures, each one more peculiar than the last.

Jumping out was Kaito, Secchan right behind him. "We've arrived at our two hundredth and twenty-second world!" He exclaimed as he took in the unfamiliar surroundings of Canterlot High.

Behind Kaito, the remaining four members of the Zenkaiger team followed. The alien robots known as the Kikainoids. First was the red one, Juran. The party-loving, eldest member of the team. Then a yellow one named Gaon. He loves organic creatures, especially cute little animals. The pink, sole female member of the team, Magine, stepped through next. She loves magic and telling fortunes. Even if her fortune readings are wrong pretty much all the time. And the last one to walk through the portal, well, actually nearly fall through, was the blue, glasses-wearing Kikainoid, Vroon. He has an almost uncontrollable curiosity for knowledge.

"Heh, not a bad place to visit," Juran said, stretching his arms out wide and looking around the courtyard.

Kaito pointed towards the school, excitement buzzing in the air. "Check it out! It looks like a school. This must be some kinda school-themed world!"

"Kaito, Kaito, Kaito," Juran began, his tone one of mild amusement as he placed a hand on the young man's shoulder. "It's possible this is just a school in a regular world."

"Oh," Kaito nodded. Yeah, that may make more sense.

"I am curious as to see what kind of world this is," Vroon said, adjusting his glasses as he studied the school's architecture.

But before they could even take a step, something zipped by high above them, catching only Secchan's sharp eyes. "Eh. What was that?" he asked, tilting his head upwards.

Kaito and the Kikainoids looked up, but by the time they had, it was gone. "What'd you see?" Magine asked, her curiosity piqued.

"I'm not sure," Secchan said, his eyes still focused on the spot where he had seen the strange object. "I'll go investigate, tune!" With a burst of speed, the little robotic bird shot upwards into the sky, leaving Kaito and the others staring after him.

"Don't go too far, Secchan!" Kaito called out after his friend with a wave of his hand.

"Kaito, what do we do in the meantime?" Gaon asked, breaking the silence.

"Hhmmm..." Kaito rubbed his head as he pondered their next move.

Magine, noticing the uncertainty in her leader's eyes, took the initiative. "Why don't we let my fortune-telling guide us?"

"Uh, maybe that's not the best idea," Gaon mumbled, scratching his head.

"That could be fun!" Kaito exclaimed, his enthusiasm bubbling over. "Let's try it!"

Magine pulled out her crystal ball and began to murmur an incantation. "Mmm-Mmm-Mmm-Magine. Mmm-Mmm-Mmm-Magine." Of sorts?

"Well, guess we're doing this," Juran said as he and the others huddled around Magine.

"Mmm-Mmm-Mmm-Magine," she murmured. The crystal ball in her hand began to glow with a soft light, casting an eerie glow on their faces. Suddenly, a silhouette appeared within the crystal depths. A silhouette of... a pony? It can't be serious.

"Wait, is that...?" Vroon whispered, his eyes widening.

"Whoa, it's definitely a pony," Kaito said, leaning in closer to the crystal ball.

Gaon gushed at the thought, "Aw, adorable little ponies! Maybe this isn't so bad after all!"

"But where are we going to find this pony?" Vroon asked, his metal body shifting uncomfortably.

The five continued to ponder the significance of the pony in Magine's crystal ball, their minds racing with questions and theories. Too bad they wouldn't get the chance to muse for long.

"Zenkaiger!!!"

The sudden shout echoed through the courtyard, pulling them out of their thoughts. They spun around to face the newcomer. Academy World, tacky tie and all.

"Eh!' Kaito exclaimed as he and his team spun around.

"You should know that on the weekend, you're not supposed to be on the grounds of the academy," Academy World said sternly. You know, as if he were an actual authority figure.

"Academy World!!!!!" The Zenkaiger exclaimed in unison.

"How are you here?" Kaito, asking the question they were all thinking. "We defeated you a long time ago!"

It's true. Academy World was already defeated by the Zenkaiger long ago. How is he here? And in a whole other world at that!

"Heh-heh, my defeat was only a temporary setback at my old academy," Academy World said. "But now, I've been upgraded into my ultimate self! The ultimate ruler of the academy!"

"Upgraded?" Vroon questioned. "How so?"

The school-headed robot adjusted his tie. "Well..."

The five heroes stared intensely at the robotic principal, their eyes narrowing with suspicion. A moment of silence fell over the courtyard. Until Academy World revealed the secret of his upgrades.

"You see," he began, "I've been built to be an exact copy of the original Academy World!"

"Then You're Not An Upgrade, You're A Cheap Fake!!!" All the Zenkaiger shouted in unison.

"R-Regardless!" Academy World sputtered. "This world is in serious need of the true Tojitendo spirit! A spirit of order, discipline, and superiority that only I can teach in my new academy!"

"Whatever you're planning," Kaito said, gripping his golden gear tightly in his hand, "we're going to stop you! Everyone, let's go!"

"Yeah!" The other four Zenkaiger exclaimed, their spirits high and their resolve unshaken.

"Whoa, whoa... wait, wait," Academy World stuttered, his robotic hands shooting up in a defensive gesture.

The colorful heroes didn't listen though, as they all held their gears high, ready to use them. Academy World had to act fast! "Academy Power... Unleash!" He shouted before releasing a blinding flash of light from his hands

"Change Zen..." The heroes were cut off as the light engulfed them. And not just them, but all of Canterlot City!

Just as Secchan was closing in on the object he was chasing, he saw the blinding wave of light come out of nowhere and envelop not just the Zenkaiger, not just the school, but the entirety of Canterlot City! Fortunately for Secchan he was too high in the air to have been hit by the wave. That didn't exactly make him feel better as he watched his friend get engulfed. On top of that, the strange object he was chasing flew off while he was distracted.

"EEEEEHHHHH!!!! KAITO!" The poor mechanical bird squawked as he watched everything happening below. "KAITOOOOOOOO!" But it was too late.

The light from Academy World's flash faded, and the Zenkaiger were nowhere to be found. Academy World marveled at the Tojitendo symbol that now stood atop the stone block the mighty Canterlot Wondercolt statue once stood.

"Ha-ha! That ought to keep them out of our way around this academy," Academy World chuckled to himself as he turned and headed back towards the school. "Now my lord can continue his plans while I run the academy!"

Secchan watched in horror as the robotic principal strutted away. What just happened?! Where did the Zenkaiger go?! Secchan can only hope that they're somewhere in this city. They have to be! With a flap of his metallic wings, he took off into the sky, searching for any sign of them.

"I'll find you Zenkaiger," Secchan whispered to the wind, his metallic feathers fluttering as he dove into the sky. "Even if it takes all day, tune!" Actually, it took two days.

Flashback Ends

"Next thing I knew, I woke up and got dressed and ready for school," Kaito said, his eyes still distant as the memories replayed in his mind. "I really believed I was a student at this school. But I actually graduated from high school years ago!"

So, Academy World pretty much brainwashed the whole city into thinking this school and Tojitendo nonsense was normal. That explains why Sunset wasn't affected. She was in Equestria when all this went down. And didn't come back until late at night. Unfortunately, her friends weren't as lucky.

Sunset looked to Kaito with a look of confusion. "Quick question." Naturally, after a story like that, I'm sure Sunset has plenty of questions to ask. "So... where exactly did you wake up and come to school from, if you're from another dimension?" Not quite the question I was expecting.

"There's no time for that now, tune!" Secchan's voice grew urgent, his little metal wings fluttering rapidly. "We must gather the other Zenkaiger and defeat Academy World, tune!"

"But they still think they're teachers, right?" Sunset reminded them of the current predicament. 'By the time we can convince all of them to remember who they are, Academy World is sure to notice what we're up to."

"Sunset's right," Kaito agreed in a firm tone.

"You said you beat him before, right?" Sunset questioned. "How did you do it?"

Kaito thought back to when they first faced Academy World. And then, the answer finally hit him. "Oh! His tie! We have to destroy it!"

...

...

"His tie?" Sunset raised an eyebrow. I know it's tacky, but isn't destroying it a bit... extreme?

"His tie gave the last Academy World his power," Secchan informed. "But that doesn't guarantee that it'll work the same way on this one, tune."

"Although," Sunset interjected. "Now that you mention it, all four of your friends are wearing the exact same tie Academy World is."

Sunset then thought back to the first time she saw the heroes-turned-teachers. At first, she thought it was just something that all the faculty here wore. But Vice-Principal Luna wasn't wearing one. Interesting.

"Everyone else seems to act the same around here," Sunset continued. "They've just been brainwashed into thinking this school is normal. But your friends, they acted really mean to my friends. And from your stories, that doesn't really sound like them."

Kaito and Secchan both nodded towards Sunset's deduction. She's really on to something.

"Academy World must be using his tie to keep them under his control through their ties," Sunset said, her eyes widening with realization.

Kaito nodded in amazement. "Whoa! You're pretty sharp, Sunset." Sunset was a bit taken aback by the sudden compliment. And how easily impressed this guy seems to get, but she couldn't help but feel a little proud of herself. It's not every day you get called sharp by a hero from another dimension.

"Alright, so we'll take their ties off and they should be fine," Kaito said, nodding along with Sunset's logic.

"But how do we do that without getting caught?" Secchan asked, his tiny wings fluttering in anxiety. "We're right back to our original problem, tune." So, it's either get all four of their ties without Academy World knowing or get his own without him knowing. Sure, sound easy enough.

Now it was Kaito's turn to think. Back in his world, Kaito often had to come up with plans to defeat the Tojitendo, being the team leader and all. And pretty much every time, his plan seemed rather silly or just plain crazy. But they were always crazy enough to work. Hopefully, this time was no different. Cuz now, he did have a plan. There was one other key aspect in defeating Academy World the first time!

"Ah," he exclaimed as his plan finished formulating. "I know what to do! And I'm gonna need your help, Sunset! You're gonna have to trust me."

Sunset nodded without hesitation. "Of course, I'll do anything to help my friends and get our school back to normal."

"Good," Kaito said, his smile returning. "Here's what we're gonna do."

...

...

...

After discussing Kaito's plan, he returned to Vroon's class. Kaito took his seat like a proper student should. Nothing suspicious about him, that's for sure.

But then Sunset entered right after. And she acted... a little less than proper. She slammed the door open and strutted in like she owned the place. Vroon's robotic eyes snapped to her immediately.

"Miss Shimmer, that's no way to enter a classroom," Vroon's voice was as cold as steel.

Sunset didn't even flinch. "Oh, come on. You expect me to march in here like I'm in the military?" She plopped into her chair, followed immediately by slamming her feet up on her desk. "Besides, I've got better things to do than sit in here all day listening to you drone on about Tojitendo history." And to really get on his nerves, she picked up her pen and started clicking it incessantly.

Vroon's mechanical eyes narrowed. "Miss Shimmer, that is quite enough."

But Sunset didn't think it was enough. In fact, she figured she could click her pen even faster. So, she did. And faster. And faster. Until...

"I said that's quite enough!" Vroon couldn't take it anymore. He reached over to his desk and slammed his hand down on the button. The same one he used to blow up Twilight's pen earlier. But Sunset was waiting for that. With a quick flick of her wrist, she sent the pen hurtling through the air, straight for his face!

Vroon's eyes went wide, his hand shooting up to block the incoming projectile. But it was too late. The pen smacked into his face and blew up in it too!

Sunset watched with a smug smile as Vroon stumbled back, his robotic face sizzling. "Whoops," she said with mock innocence.

The other students all gasped in horror as Vroon staggered back. Twilight's eyes were wide as dinner plates, and she could feel her heart thundering in her chest. She had no clue what Sunset was thinking! She's never seen Sunset act like this. So mean, like she can do whatever she wants! I mean, she's heard the stories, but she's never actually seen it!

But before she could say anything, the robotic teacher had recovered and was pointing at Sunset. "Miss Shimmer! You will report to the principal's office immediately!"

Sunset just grinned, not a hint of remorse on her face. "Sure thing," she said, hopping out of her seat. "Anything to get out of this snooze fest."

As instructed by Vroon, Sunset marched down the hallway with the same rebellious swagger that had earned her the title of 'biggest meanie' during her freshmen year. Her heart was racing, but she had to keep her cool. She had to stay in character if she wanted to pull this off. When she reached the principal's office, she didn't even bother knocking. Instead, she kicked the door open with a dramatic flair, causing it to slam against the wall.

And there he was, Academy World, sitting behind the desk with his tacky tie perfectly in place. "Miss Shimmer," he said, a hint of disappointment in his mechanical voice. "I heard of what happened in your class. This behavior is unbecoming of a Tojitendo student of my academy."

"Oh, really?" Sunset said, playing up the attitude as she took her seat. "And what's so great about the stupid Tojitendo, anyway?"

"This behavior is unacceptable in this academy!" Academy World stood up from his chair. "There are strict punishments for such behavior in this academy," he said sternly, his eyes flashing with a cold, metallic light.

Sunset rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever," she mumbled, slouching in her chair. "I've heard it all before."

"This isn't a joke," Academy World's voice grew colder. "You will learn to respect the order of the Tojitendo, or face the consequences in this academy!"

Sunset scowled. "Or what? You're gonna make me clean the toilets? Expel me?!"

The robotic principal leaned over the desk, his hand slamming down on the surface. "Miss Shimmer!"

Sunset shot up from her chair, her hands balled into fists at her side. "You know what, go ahead and expel me!" she yelled.

And to really put the cherry on top of this rebellious sundae, she not only kicked over the chair she was sitting in, she placed her arms on the fake principal's desk and moved them in a single, sweeping motion, sending papers and knickknacks flying across the room. The display of defiance was so sudden and over-the-top, it left Academy World momentarily speechless.

"Because I don't need you or this school!" Sunset yelled.

Regaining his composure, Academy World shot up from his desk. "Miss Shimmer, wait..."

"I've done just fine leaving my teachers before!" Sunset shouted, her voice echoing through the small office. "Why should now be any different?"

"Miss Shimmer, please," Academy World's tone was surprisingly gentle. He climbed over his desk, immediately falling face first onto the floor, before rushing over to her. His clumsy action took Sunset by surprise, causing her to pause mid-step.

"Uh... don't bother lecturing me," Sunset said, getting back into character as the rebellious student. "I'm not sticking around for this."

"Miss Shimmer, wait..." Academy World's voice trailed off as Sunset turned to leave. The robotic principal quickly grabbed her by the wrist, to which Sunset quickly fought back with a dramatic flail.

"Ugh, let go!" Sunset yelled, feigning a struggle as Academy World held her wrist tightly. "There's no place for me here!"

"Don't you know that I believe in you, Sunset Shimmer?!" Academy World said, his grip on her wrist loosening.

Sunset paused "What?" she said, her voice cracking. "You do?"

The robotic principal nodded, his eyes glowing with a warmth that seemed almost... genuine. "You have the potential to be one of the greatest Tojitendo students I've ever seen in this academy! I know you feel as if you don't belong here, but you do. And I want to help you realize that potential in this academy!"

Sunset's eyes filled with a glossy sheen as she choked back a fake sob. "I-I didn't know you felt that way, Principal Academy World," she said, her voice trembling. "No one's ever said they believed in a punk like me... principal!"

Sunset quickly embraced Academy World, wrapping her arms tightly around his metal frame. "Thank you, Principal," she whispered, her voice shaky and filled with hope. "I'll change. I promise!"

The robotic principal's grip loosened, and his metallic arms returned the embrace. "I knew you could, Miss Shimmer," he said warmly. "Together, we'll make sure you become the exemplary student in this academy."

But amidst their heartfelt moment, muffled by the walls of the office, the distant echo of voices grew louder.

"What's all that noise coming from outside the academy?" Academy World pulled away from the hug, his eyes darting towards the window. And what he saw was surprising to say the least.

Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon had all gathered in the courtyard, holding signs and chanting in unison!

"Teacher Strike! Teacher Strike!" The chant grew louder and more pronounced as the seconds ticked by. Academy World's eyes widened as he realized the gravity of the situation.

Vice-Principal Luna burst into the room, her eyes flashing with urgency. "Principal Academy World, the teachers are revolting!" she exclaimed, her voice a mix of panic and exasperation.

"Revolting!" The robotic principal couldn't believe his ears. "This is a disaster for the academy!"

Luna nodded gravely. "I'll see to it, Principal," she said, turning on her heel.

But Academy World stopped her with a firm hand on her shoulder. "No, Luna. This is something I must handle personally for the academy."

He quickly turned towards Sunset. "And fret not, Miss Shimmer. I'll deal with this nonsense promptly and ensure that order is restored to our beloved academy," he said with a firm nod, before dashing for the courtyard to handle the chaos.

As the door slammed shut behind him, Sunset couldn't help but smirk. That was easier than she thought. She turned to the vice-Principal, who was still standing there, a look of shock frozen on her face. "Well, I guess I'll just go back to class, then," she said, playing it cool.

Luna blinked a couple of times before nodding. "Yes, Miss Shimmer," she said, her voice slightly shaky. "Please do."

Sunset strolled out of the office, but didn't head back to class. Instead, she made a beeline for the courtyard to see the chaos firsthand.

As she reached the front door, the scene before her was exactly what she had hoped for. The teachers were holding signs and shouting their grievances at the top of their lungs. "Teacher Strike! Teacher Strike!"

"We're not gonna take Academy World's harsh rule anymore!" Magine yelled as she waved a hand-drawn sign that read 'Fair Treatment for All!'

"And we refuse to teach until we get better working conditions!" Gaon hollered.

"Yeah, and better textbooks, computers, and maybe some decent coffee in the teachers' lounge!" Vroon demanded.

"And most importantly..." Juran's voice boomed as the other three joined in on their final demand.

"WE WANT BETTER PAY!!!!"

"What is the meaning of this Strike against my academy!" Academy World's voice boomed across the courtyard.

"Well, if it isn't the big shot himself," Juran said.

"And until our demands are met, we refuse to return to our teaching posts!" Vroon exclaimed, raising his hand-made banner high.

Academy World had to play this right. He can't risk them leaving and complicating things. "Okay, okay. What are your demands for the academy?"

"Well... uh let's start with the coffee machine in the lounge," Juran began as the four of them went into a bunch of demands.

Sunset couldn't help but chuckle as Academy World was surrounded by the shouting Kikainoids. But what really caught her attention was Kaito—making a, somewhat clumsy, sneak towards the fake principal. And in his hand was his key to putting an end to Academy World and this entire ordeal.

A gatling gun... You heard me. An actual gatling gun! It was a red and black hand blaster with a crank handle on its side and the word 'GEARTLINGER' written on the back end. Must be what the thing's called. It also had a bird's head right above the revolving barrel. What is it with this team and birds? Whatever, Kaito's about to put an end to this... hopefully.

"Now, now, I can't promise paid time off from the academy," Academy World stammered. But for a brief moment, he thought he heard footsteps behind him. He turned towards the sound, only for a sign to be shoved in his face and blocking his view.

"And we also want decent health insurance!" Gaon shouted, his sign conveniently hiding Kaito from view.

Kaito sighed with relief as Academy World turned back toward the four complaining kikainoids. Sunset did too for that matter. But with the crisis averted, Kaito's eyes locked on Academy World's back. With his geartlinger raised, Kaito gritted his teeth. "Time to Full Power finish this."

Kaito had the element of surprise. There are no obstacles left in his way. No reason to fear. It was time for this hero to set this world back to how it was. He turned the crank handle on his gun a few times to initiate its most powerful attack! He came up mere inches away from his target. With one pull of the trigger this whole thing will be...

HERO! SUPER ZENKAI TIME!!!
...

...

Did... did his gun just talk?!

...

...

It did! It did talk. And is still talking! In some sort of chant on a loop!

Go Go! Ba-Bang! Go Go! Ba-Bang! Go Go! Ba-Bang!
And not very quietly either! And there's no way Academy World didn't hear that! This is proven when he swiftly spun around to find a gun pointed directly at him.

...

...

...

...

...

"Eh?" Academy World stared blankly at Kaito's gatling gun.

"Eh?" Sunset couldn't believe what was happening in front of her.

"Eh?" Kaito froze.

The courtyard fell silent, minus the gatling gun that can't seem to shut up! Kaito stared for a moment before realizing... he still had his geartlinger pointed at Academy World! Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger with all his might. The gatling gun roared to life, unleashing a massive beam of pure white energy!

Only for Academy World to his drop to the ground at the very last millisecond. The four Zenkaiger teachers quickly jumped out of the way to avoid getting hit themselves.

DAI ZENKAI!!!!
The gun roared one last time as the stray blast shot into the distance. Hopefully not hitting anything important.

As Academy World hustled back to his feet, you can imagine how angry he was. Almost getting blown up tends to tick people off.

"Mister Goshikita!" Academy World's voice crackled with fury. "Attempting to harm faculty is a grave offense in this academy!"

Kaito stood his ground. The act was up. Time to end this the old-fashioned way. "Sorry, but I'm dropping out. And putting an end to your control over this school!"

"You don't get to leave without receiving your punishment of the academy!" Academy World turned to the four teachers. "Listen my dear teachers of the academy! Seize the troublemaker, and I'll fulfill every request you want for the academy!"

The four mechanical Zenkaiger paid Academy World no mind at all as they pulled out their own geartlingers. They all pulled the trigger, shooting a few small shots at the villain. Knocking him back down once more.

"WHAT?!" Academy World yelled in shock. He looked to the traitorous teachers, realizing they had aligned themselves with Kaito. "Trying to betray your principal of the academy?!" he shouted as he scrambled back to his feet. "Then I'll just have to teach you all a lesson in respect for the academy!" He raised his hand toward his neck, ready to unleash his brainwashing power through his tie!

"Eh?" But his metallic fingers grasped nothing but air. "My tie!" he gasped, his eyes wide with horror. His tie was nowhere to be found. "Where is—?"

Sunset stepped forward with a triumphant smirk, holding the tacky tie high in her hand. "Looking for this?" The fabric dangled limply, its Tojitendo emblem glinting under the sunlight.

Academy World was speechless. She must have stolen it from him during their little hug fest. And now that he's thinking about it. His former teachers weren't wearing their ties either!

With a good toss and a big smile, Sunset sent the tie high in the air. And with one good shot from Kaito's gatling gun, the tie exploded in a shower of sparks.

"Wha... Noooo!" But no matter how loud Academy World screamed, it was too late. The tie disintegrated into nothingness. And just like that, the entire school grounds seemed to flicker. The Tojitendo symbol on the stone block was quickly replaced with the Canterlot Wondercolt statue. All the books and signs with anything about Tojitendo reverted back to their original form. And most importantly, the students and faculty all snapped back to their senses. The brainwashing had been broken. There clothes even turned back to what they would normally wear to school. Making Celestia, who was re-promoted back to principal, really happy. The janitor look was definitely not her best.

"Miss Shimmer..." Academy World's voice crackled, feeling the sting of betrayal. "I thought you were finally embracing the vision of the academy!"

Sunset crossed her arms. "Sorry to break it to you, 'Principal,' but there was no way I'd ever join your twisted academy."

Kaito stepped beside her, his smile sharp and triumphant. "It was all part of the plan."

Flashback Starts

"You want me to act like a delinquent?" Sunset had asked earlier after Kaito told her the first part of his plan.

"Mm-hmm," Kaito confirmed with a nod. "That way you'll get sent straight to Academy World's office." His eyes lit up as he leaned closer. "Then, you can get close enough to steal his tie while he's distracted. And that's when I trigger Phase Two."

Sunset raised an eyebrow. "Which is...?"

"While you keep him distracted, Secchan and I will convince our friends to help us draw him outside," Kaito explained, raising Secchan to emphasize his inclusion. "That's when I'll deal the Full Power finisher on him!"

"This plan is bound to work, tune!" Secchan chirped, fluttering beside Sunset.

The redhead still had one concern though. "But even if I get the tie, there's no guarantee your friends will regain their memories. Are you sure they'll help?"

But there was no doubt in Kaito's mind. "They don't need to remember," he'd said, a determined grin spreading across his face. "Whether they know the truth or not, in their hearts, they'll always be Zenkaiger!"

Flashback Ends

"So we held the strike in order to lure you out," Magine jumped in, waving her sign like a victory flag. "And it worked like a charm!"

"But even with my tie off, my brainwashing should have still held over the academy!" Academy World sputtered. "How could you have broken my control before I even exited the academy?!"

"Welp, we didn't actually do that," Vroon admitted, scratching his head. Until the tie was destroyed, they hadn't remembered a thing.

"Kaito was just able to convince us to fight for this school," Gaon explained.

"Simply put, buddy," Juran said with a shrug, "Whether our brains are scrambled or not, one thing remained clear."

"That Your A Horrible Principal!!!" All four kikainoids shouted in perfect unison, pointing accusingly at Academy World. Making the robotic villain gasp back in shock.

Juran stepped forward, his large frame radiating with satisfaction. "You fell hook, line, and sinker to the great performance of the Zenkaiger Theater Group," he declared, striking a dramatic pose.

Kaito flashed a sharp grin. "With guest star, Sunset Shimmer!" He said gesturing to her with jazz hands.

The four other Zenkaiger immediately broke into thunderous applause, their mechanical hands clapping with surprising warmth. Sunset’s cheeks flushed as she got swept up in the moment. She gave a playful, exaggerated bow, complete with a flourish of her arm.

Academy World's blood was boiling. So to speak. "How-How dare you ruin my perfect academy!" he snarled. "And treating your principal with such disrespect!" "You all deserve to be expelled from the academy! Permanently!"

"Sunset, leave the rest to us!" Kaito shouted.

With a nod, Sunset stepped aside, putting her faith in the heroes of justice! "Alright, he's all yours!" Though part of her wanted to give Academy World a piece of her mind, she kinda wanted to see the Zenkaiger in action.

"All right guys," Kaito called out. "Let's go!"

"Yeah!" His teammates' voices rang out in unison.

With that, the five heroes all pulled out a gear. Their special gears. Each emblazoned with a number and a picture of the helmet they'll soon be wearing. They lifted up the transparent plastic compartment on the top of their geartlingers and laid the gears flat inside. With a quick slap down of the plastic lid, the gears were locked in place. They all raised their geartlingers up and gripped the crank handles tightly.

"Change Zenkai!!!" The heroes roared as one. They then rapidly cranked the handle, charging the guns with energy. Once they finished cranking, the guns each announced a number specified by the gear inside.

#45 BANG! #16 BANG! #25 BANG! #29 BANG! #30 BANG!
With that, the last phase of the transformation began as the geartlingers were now on standby. Vroon and Magine did a quick twirl...

Bang-Bang!
Then Gaon and Juran did a twirl...

Bang-Bang!
And Finally, Kaito did a twirl...

Bang-Bang!
"Ha!!!" With sharp cries, the five heroes pulled their geartlinger triggers as one. Gear-shaped energy blasts erupted from the barrels—not toward Academy World, but arcing backward in impossible trajectories. The spinning discs of light slammed into each Zenkaiger. They were all engulfed in a bright light as they were transformed into their heroic forms.

BA-BANG! BA-BANG!! BA-BANG!!! BA-BANG!!!! BA-BA- BA-BAAAANG!!!!!
The four kikainoids became clad in vibrant, armored suits each with a core color and a seemingly random motif. Juran's armor was red with a t-rex head on his chest and big silver claws on his feet. Gaon's yellow armor looked the same, but with a lion's head instead. Magine on the other hand, looked quite different from the previous ones. Her armor was pink with metallic dragon wings on each shoulder. And the top of her helmet seemed to be designed after a witch's hat. Lastly, Vroon's blue armor was the bulkiest of the bunch. Complete with two wheels on each of his arms and the front of a truck designed into his torso.

All four of them looked so different from each other, but they all had one thing in common. A gold number on each of their helmets. Juran had the number sixteen on his, Gaon had twenty-five, Magine had twenty-nine, and Vroon had thirty.

But Kaito was the one who stood out the most. His suit wasn't really armor like the other four; it was more like a sleek, form-fitting jumpsuit. It was mostly white with a red stripe running down the center, and a yellow, blue, green, and pink stripe on both sides of the red one. Giving him a rainbow like pattern. Along with a cape and a gold V-shaped design on his chest and shoulders. The suit was completed with his helmet, baring the number forty-five on his forehead.

With the transformation complete, the geartlingers were proud to announce their new hero names!

ZENKAISER!
ZENKAI JURAN!
ZENKAI GAON!
ZENKAI MAGINE!
ZENKAI VROON!
But despite their guns having already told us their names, the five heroes still had to do it themselves. Que the roll call!

"New Student Power!" Kaito declared as he raised his fist high, before flashing a peace sign. "Zenkaiser!"

"Gym Power!" Juran boomed, flexing his arms and striking a bodybuilder-like pose. "Zenkai Juran!"

"Home Economics Power!" Gaon announced, slicing the air with sharp karate chops, his movements swift and precise like a chef's knife work. "Zenkai Gaon!"

"Language Arts Power!" Magine chimed, twirling gracefully before flourishing an imaginary quill like a poet. "Zenkai Magine!"

"History Power!" Vroon bellowed, standing stiff and proud before snapping into a dramatic salute. "Zenkai Vroon!"

The five of them stood before Academy World. A unified team ready for battle. Zenkaiser stood in the middle, as he shot his hand forward, his fingers spread out wide. "The five of us are..."

"Kikai Sentai... Zenkaiger!!!" The team roared while all striking one final, team pose. Truly a sight to behold!

Sunset Shimmer watched the entire scene unfold with a mixture of awe and sheer, unadulterated awkwardness. The look on her face said it all. The dramatic declarations, the exaggerated poses... it felt kinda cringe.

"Is the roll call really necessary?" Sunset muttered under her breath.

"Here we go!" Zenkaiser cried, gearing up for the fight. "Full Power Non..."

"STOOOOOOOOOP!" Academy World's metallic shriek sliced through the courtyard, freezing Zenkaiser mid-shout. The sudden burst almost made the heroes fall over themselves.

"Huh, stop?" Zenkaiser paused, lowering his geartlinger slightly. His teammates exchanged confused glances.

Academy World straightened himself up, dusting off his body with exaggerated care. Followed up with a chuckle. Not a nervous chuckle, mind you. But a low, rumbling chuckle that felt odd to here from the guy who's at a clear disadvantage.

"You may have destroyed my best tie..." he began, reaching into his nonexistent back pocket. "But a true principal is always prepared to dress his best in the academy!" With a flourish, he pulled from behind himself a hideous, red and black striped tie adorned with gold glittering Tojitendo symbols.

"EEEH?!" The Zenkaiger team gasped in unison, stumbling backward as Academy World popped on the fresh tie.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Sunset yelled in disbelief.

Academy World adjusted the tacky thing with smug precision. "Heh-heh, while it may not give me control over the entire academy..." He clutched the neck wear tightly before facing the school. "A handful of students will be just what I need to kick you out of MY academy!"

With a dee breath, he called the names of the exact students he needed. "Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy, report to the courtyard outside the academy! Immediately!"

His words rang out, sharp and commanding. Within the classrooms full of students still shaken up from the previous brainwashing, Academy World's order rung like an internal p.a. system in the minds of the six girls. They all understood the fake principal loud and clear. They all left their classrooms as quickly as they could.

The other students found them leaving to be weird at first, but they quickly let it go. After all, when those girls are involved, they knew it was just best to stay in the background.

The front doors swung open and bursting on to the scene, to Sunset's horror, were her absolute best friends.

"Principal Academy World!" Twilight Sparkle cried out. "What's wrong?!"

Oh great! They think he's their principal again!

"Those ruffians!" Academy World jabbed an accusing finger toward the Zenkaiger, his voice dripping with theatrical distress. "They stormed our orderly academy grounds and are now trying to destroy me in front of the academy!"

Twilight Sparkle's brow furrowed as she took in the scene—five brightly colored monsters who dared to threaten their beloved principal and school!

"What in tarnation are those things?" Applejack muttered.

"Who cares what they are?" Rainbow Dash shot back. "If they think they can mess with our school they've got another thing coming."

"Hey come on!" Juran called out.

"That's cheating!" Magine gasped.

But surprisingly, Academy World didn't care. "Heh-heh! My dear students, do whatever it takes to protect your academy!" He shouted, pointing dramatically at the Zenkaiger.

These girls were no strangers to having to fight weird things. And with Academy World having them believe the Zenkaiger are really the bad guys, they wouldn't hesitate to fight this time. It's Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Vs Equestria Girls!

Chapter Text

World 213

How did it ever come to this?! Everything was going so well just minutes ago. Academy World was just about to be defeated, Sunset had stolen his tie, Kaito had destroyed it, and the brainwashing over Canterlot High lifted. The Zenkaiger were at full power and ready to finish him off. But Academy World pulled out a spare tie and forced Sunset's friends to attack. Now Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy stand ready to fight the Zenkaiger, believing they're protecting their school from monsters.

"What in tarnation are those things?" Applejack muttered.

"Who cares what they are?" Rainbow Dash shot back. "If they think they can mess with our school they've got another thing coming."

"Hey come on!" Zenkai Juran called out.

"That's cheating!" Zenkai Magine gasped.

But as the misguided teens were about to charge, Sunset threw herself between them and the Zenkaiger, arms outstretched in a desperate shield. "Stop!"

"What the... Sunset?" Twilight was shocked at her friend stepping in front of the perceived threat.

"Sunset, darling, whatever are you doing?" Rarity gasped.

"Those guys are dangerous," Fluttershy said, worried for her dear friend.

Sunset shook her head urgently. "No, they're not! They're heroes!"

"I don't know," Pinkie squinted, staring intensely at Zenkaiser's helmet. "Look at the shifty eyes on that one!" She jabbed a finger accusingly.

"Eh?" Zenkaiser gasped. He felt a bit self-conscious. "Guys, are my eyes shifty?"

"What, no way!" Zenkai Gaon protested.

"You're not shifty in anyway," Zenkai Magine reassured.

"Can she even see your eyes?" Zenkai Juran muttered, leaning toward Kaito’s helmet.

While the, uh... heroes discussed Zenkaiser's *sigh* eyes and whether they were visible, Sunset tried to reason with her friends. "They're the good guys. Academy World is lying to you!"

Despite Academy World's influence, they knew Sunset wouldn't be doing this without a good reason. "Sunset's our friends," Twilight insisted, her voice tight with confusion.

"Yeah, she wouldn't lie to us," Applejack agreed.

Sunset beamed with hope. And the Zenkaiger finally re-focused their attention on what was going on in front of them. It's working! Her friends are actually listening to her!

But Academy World wasn't about to let Sunset Shimmer ruin his plans. "Of course she wouldn't lie to you, my dear students of the academy." The six girls turned to Academy World, who looks like he's on the verge of tears. "Boo-hoo-hoo!"

"Is he crying?" Sunset whispered. She knew that villain had to be up to something.

"But those monsters she's protecting..." Academy World choked back a sob, wiping a nonexistent tear. "...they brainwashed her into betraying the academy! Boo-hoo-hoo!"

"YOU'RE THE BRAINWASHER!!!" The Zenkaiger roared simultaneously.

"The only way to save her is to defeat these monsters and save the academy!" Academy World's words were all it took to re-ignite the girls' fury. While their personalities remained intact, Academy World's manipulation twisted their perception of reality.

"No, wait!" Sunset cried. "Just listen..."

"Using our own friend against us?" Rainbow Dash snarled, her fists clenching. "Now, you're gonna get it!"

The six girls surged forward, fists clenched and eyes blazing. Sunset and the Zenkaiger scrambled backward instinctively. They're not quite sure what to do here.

"Oh man. We can't fight Sunset's friends," Zenkaiser muttered.

"These precious humans don't know what they're doing!" Zenkai Gaon shouted, feeling really conflicted.

"We just need to get past them and take Academy World's tie again, right?" Zenkai Vroon asked, awkwardly shuffling behind Sunset.

"Well, that might be easier said than done," Sunset muttered.

"Eh, their just some teenage girls," Zenkai Juran boomed, stepping forward confidently. "How hard could it be?"

But Zenkai Juran quickly got his answer once he felt a powerful punch make contact with his face. Applejack, along with the full force of her magical super strength, punched him so hard that he was sent flying across the courtyard!

"EEEHHHH?!" The, still standing, Zenkaiger gasped at once.

"Yeah, they all... kinda have magic powers," Sunset explained sheepishly.

"Magic?!" Zenkai Magine questioned. Just to get a first hand experience as she was suddenly raised into the air by Twilight Sparkle's telekinesis. She floated helplessly above the ground, flailing her arms and legs like a ragdoll. "Wha! Whoa!" she cried, her voice trembling, before getting slammed into the ground.

The Zenkaiger barely had time to react as a rainbow streak swirled around Zenkai Gaon and Zenkai Vroon. "Too slow!" Rainbow Dash taunted before delivering a rapid-fire flurry of punches that sent them stumbling backward.

Zenkaiser put his guard up. He had to be prepared for anything. Even a... cupcake that fell into his open hand? "Huh? A cupcake?"

What Zenkaiser thought was harmless started to glow violently pink. The cupcake detonated in a blinding flash of pink frosting and confetti-like sprinkles, blasting Zenkaiser backward.

He scrambled to his feet, shaking frosting from his visor. Only to see Pinkie Pie, grinning wildly, already juggling three more cupcakes that pulsed with dangerous pink light. "Cupcake Bananza!" she cheered, quickly tossing more cupcakes.

Each pastry flew with unnerving accuracy, forcing Zenkaiser into frantic dodges. And he only got blown up like, four more times. Through the frosting haze clouding his visor, Zenkaiser spotted Academy World. The villain stood smugly by the Canterlot High statue, adjusting his hideous new tie while watching the chaos unfold. A perfect, unobstructed line of sight opened between them.

"Now!" Zenkaiser raised his Geartlinger, aiming past the magical girls. He fired a shot but a translucent diamond shield materialized inches from Academy World's smug face. The blast ricocheted harmlessly into the sky.

Rarity stood with elegant poise, her shield shimmering. "Such crude violence directed at our principal—unacceptable!"

Sunset groaned. "Guess it's up to me." She sprinted toward Academy World. She can get his tie off again... somehow. But Rainbow Dash rushed in front of her in a streak of color, grabbing her wrist mid-stride. Sunset gasped as her momentum jerked her off-balance.

"Sorry, Sunset," Rainbow Dash murmured, genuine regret flashing across her face even as her grip tightened. "But I can't let you hurt our principal."

"Rainbow Dash, let go! He's not our principal!" Sunset strained against her friend's grip. Things only got worse as Applejack and Fluttershy walked up.

"Do whatever you have to for the academy," Academy World ordered. Just to make sure the brainwashing stuck.

"Sorry, Sugarcube," Applejack murmured, pulling out her lasso as Fluttershy lowered her head in regret.

Sunset knew where this was going. In a matter of seconds, Rainbow Dash took the lasso and blurred into motion. Sunset’s brain didn't even have enough time to register the speed—one moment she was straining against Rainbow’s grip, the next she was wrapped tight from shoulders to ankles in sturdy rope.

"Hey, girls! Untie me!" Sunset yelled, wriggling on the ground as her best friends, reluctantly ignored her, charging toward the Zenkaiger. Only Fluttershy hesitated and turned back to her. "Don't worry, Sunset," she murmured, her voice trembling. "As soon as we beat those monsters, you'll be back to normal. Then I promise we'll untie you." With a sad smile, Fluttershy raced after her friends.

Sunset felt like she was losing her mind. "I'm Not Being Brainwashed!" Well, now that Sunset could do little more than a worm, it really was up to the Zenkaiger now. Maybe they're doing better. Maybe they've figured out a way out of this mess... and they're getting their butts kicked? Oh yeah, definitely getting their butts kicked.

Getting sugar-bombed here, super speed punched there, Zenkai Vroon ran directly into a diamond wall... Being unable to fight back was really frustrating!

Zenkai Juran finally stumbled back into the fray. His face still stung from Applejack's punch. "Uh, what the fudge just happened?" he mumbled, rubbing his helmet. Too bad he immediately got blown up by a stray exploding cupcake.

Twilight Sparkle narrowed her eyes. "Enough." A violet aura flared around her hands—and around Zenkaiser and Zenkai Juran. Both warriors gasped as they floated helplessly off the ground. Zenkaiser kicked wildly.

"Whoa! Hey! Put me down!" Zenkai Juran roared, flailing his limbs the best he could.

The other three tried to rush to their aid, but Rarity raised her hand. A shimmering diamond dome erupted around Zenkai Gaon, Magine, and Vroon, trapping them instantly. Gaon slammed his fists against the crystalline barrier. "Open up!" he yelled, but the dome held firm.

"Release your hold on Sunset and leave our school immediately," Twilight commanded. "This is your only warning."

This looks bad! They're serious! Twilight tightened her grip—Zenkaiser and Juran gasped as the telekinetic pressure squeezed their armored forms. The other girls looked pretty confident, stepping forward with fists clenched and eyes locked onto their trapped foes.

"Enough is enough!" Zenkai Magine cried out, as she pulled out he signature weapon, the Magine Stick! A pink magic scepter, that kinda looks like a dragon's tail. "It's time to fight magic with magic!" She gripped her scepter tightly and began to chant. "Mmm-Mmm-Mmm-Magine!"

A swirling pink light erupted from the scepter's tip. Twilight Sparkle braced herself, expecting an attack, but the light didn't hit her—it coalesced above her and Rarity. "Huh?" Twilight murmured, confused.

Four enormous, shimmering feather dusters materialized out of thin air. Each plume was larger than a person, fluffy pink feathers tipped with iridescent sparkles. They floated downward silently. Twilight and Rarity barely had time to register them before the feathers brushed rapidly against their bodies. Getting tickled by two dusters each.

Twilight yelped, a high-pitched gasp escaping her lips as the tickling sensation hit. "Ahaha! Wha—stop that! Hahaha!" Her concentration shattered instantly. Zenkaiser and Juran dropped unceremoniously to the ground with twin thuds, the crushing telekinetic grip vanishing.

Rarity fared no better. "Ohhh my! Hahaha! This—this is... Hahaha!" She staggered, clutching her sides. "Please... I beg of you! Hahaha!"

"Oh, nice Magine!" Zenkai Gaon cheered.

"Alright, now's our chance!" Zenkai Vroon took his turn to pull out his signature weapon, the Vroon Pick. A mighty silver pickaxe that had headlights designed on the top. With a grunt, he swung it with all his might. "Vroon Pick!" Without Rarity's concentration, the diamond dome shattered instantly.

"Nice job!" Zenkaiser cheered as he scrambled to his feet. He saw Academy World still standing smugly by the statue. "Oh, Juran! This is our chance to get Academy World!" Zenkaiser hissed, pointing urgently toward the tie-wearing villain.

Zenkai Juran nodded sharply. "Right behind you!" They bolted toward Academy World. Zenkai Juran pulled out his Juran Sword, yeah, it just basically looked like a sword, and was ready to swing.

Academy World began to panic. "Ahhh! Students, protect the principal of your academy!"

His cry was answered by Rainbow Dash. Whi blurred directly in the two heroes' path. "Oh no, you don't!" she shouted, arms spread out wide.

"Wha-hey!" Zenkaiser yelled, skidding to a halt, inches from Rainbow Dash. Juran slammed into his back, knocking them both down.

This gave Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie enough time to run after them. Zenkai Gaon and Zenkai Vroon tried to stop them, but the still laughing Twilight Sparkle managed to concentrate just enough to pull one of Zenkai Vroon's feet off the ground. Making him fall right on top of Zenkai Gaon.

"Ugh, Vroon! Get off!" Zenkai Gaon yelled.

Meanwhile, Zenkaiser and Juran scrambled upright. "Ah, we need to get him! Come on!" Zenkaiser yelled.

They ran around to Academy World's left flank—only for Pinkie Pie to bounce directly into their path.

"Hey, down in front!" They keep getting in the way. But Kaito has a foolproof plan this time. "Quick you run that way, I'll go this way!"

Zenkai Juran nods and bolts to behind Academy World. Zenkaiser ran in the opposite direction to Academy World's right flank. Only for Fluttershy to jump in front of him while Applejack blocked Zenkai Juran. Now someone was protecting Academy World from all sides. Maybe his plan wasn't foolproof.

"Ah, come on! Let me through!" Kaito pleaded.

But Applejack wasn't budging. "Y'all can just forget it!"

"Please!" Zenkai Juran asked Fluttershy, only for the animal lover to violently shake her head, and stand her ground.

Meanwhile, poor Sunset could only watch the chaotic standoff unfold, her struggles against the rope growing increasingly frantic.

"Gotta... get... free!" But all her struggles amounted to nothing. The best she could do was wriggle enough to lie on her back, staring helplessly at the sky. Which gave her a clear view of Secchan flying down and perching himself right on top of the Canterlot Wondercolt stone block.

"Kaito!" The mechanical bird chirped. "Use the Battle Fever J gear, tune!"

"Where have you been!" Sunset yelled at Secchan, her voice strained from struggling against the ropes. The bird tilted his head, oblivious to her frustration.

"Battle Fever?" Zenkaiser pondered for a split second before realizing Secchan's plan. "Oh, I see!"

His gloved hand darted to his belt buckle, which he could open up to reveal more golden gears inside. With the gear he wanted conveniently placed front and center. Zenkaiser pulled out the gear, showing it to bear the number three on it and the helmet of some other hero on it.

Zenkaiser slammed the gear into his Geartlinger and quickly turned the crank.

#03 BANG!

Bang-Bang! Bang-Bang!

Kaito aimed his Geartlinger skyward and pulled the trigger and blasted a giant ethereal version of the gear into the air. But this gear then burst into five shimmering figures. The heroes of another team, Battle Fever J!

BA-BANG! BA-BANG!! BA-BANG!!! BA-BANG!!!! BA-BA-BA-BAAAANG!!!!!

BATTLE FEVER!

Academy World and his four female bodyguards all stared at the five ghost-like figures above them. Five multi-colored warriors each one with a suit based off of a different flag design. They didn't have much time to react as each one suddenly flew down at blinding speed and merging themselves with their respective targets.

The pink warrior inhabited Rainbow Dash, the blue one merged with Fluttershy, the black 9ne with Applejack, the orange one with Pinkie Pie—and finally, the red Battle Fever warrior slammed into Zenkaiser himself. But for the moment, nothing seemed to have happened.

"I don't know what you just did," Rainbow yelled, her fists raised defensively, "but it won't stop—" Her words died instantly as her fingers started to snap rhythmically without her consent. "Huh?" And then she snapped again. "What the—?" Her hips began to sway and twist as her legs started to move independently. She gasped as she was suddenly thrust into a full-on 70s disco routine, complete with dramatic arm gestures and shoulder rolls. "Whoa! Hey! What's happening?!" Rainbow Dash yelled, trying to fight the movements but failing as her body glided and spun with impossible grace.

Fluttershy yelped as her own body seized control, her arms raising dramatically above her head. Her feet began to stamp in a rapid, fiery rhythm as she was pulled into a passionate flamenco, her cheeks flushing as she clapped and spun with fierce, uncharacteristic intensity. "Oh dear! I—I can't stop!" she cried, her voice trembling between steps.

Applejack grunted as she was forced to swing her arms back and forth while stepping into a lively folk dance, her boots stomping the ground in a pattern she couldn't control. "Dagnabbit! My body ain't listenin'! What's happenin'?" she yelled, her movements becoming more exaggerated with each step.

"I don't know," Pinkie said as she was forced into a deep squat kick, her legs springing into a frenzied hopak against her will. "But it's kinda fun!" Pinkie merely giggled as she actually found herself enjoying the dance.

"Battle Fever J fought using the power of dance, tune!" Secchan chirped, flapping his wings as if he were dancing.

Sunset managed to turn her body so she could get a better view. "Uh, okay, that's... useful." In this very specific situation, I guess.

Zenkai Juran saw the opening immediately. "Ah, nice Kaito!" With that, he ran in front of the dancing feet were still moving uncontrollably to their respective rhythms. "Alright ladies, conga!"

The four girls, limbs moving with unstoppable rhythm, stumbled into an awkward conga line behind Zenkai Juran's enthusiastically thrusting hips. "Yeah!" he bellowed, leading them in a wobbling, high-kicking parade away from Academy World. It was actually pretty hard not to enjoy it.

"Hey, wait! Girls! Get back here!" Academy World shrieked, his smugness evaporating as Zenkai Juran boisterously led the conga line further away. And seeing the girls smiling, laughing, even as their feet kept moving, was the worst part. "There's no dancing in the academy!"

"SSHHHWWAAAHHH!!!!!"

Academy World's panicked as he heard Zenkaiser's battle cry, but when he turned, the hero was already airborne. The red Battle Fever warrior's abilities surged through Kaito, flooding his muscles with impossible precision.

He landed a swift karate chop square on Academy World's head. The villain staggered, clutching his skull with a pained yelp. Before he could recover, Zenkaiser's leg snapped out in a lightning-fast roundhouse kick, striking Academy World's chest before sweeping low to sweep his legs from under him. Before the villain even hit the ground, Kaito dealt one final, powerful chop to his gut. Academy World crashed onto the grass, groaning in defeat.

"Battle Japan's dance style was martial arts, tune!" Secchan chirped, referring to the Red Warrior Zenkaiser merged with.

"Uh, does that count as dancing?" Sunset asked, momentarily forgetting the ropes that held her.

Zenkaiser stood over the groaning villain, his fist clenched and raised high. Academy World flinched, bracing for a devastating strike. But Kaito’s hand shot downward—not to punch, but to snatch the glittering Tojitendo tie. With one sharp tug, the fabric ripped free.

"Wha—huh?!" Academy World gasped, scrambling backwards as he saw Zenkaiser rip his only backup tie in half. "No!"

Once she saw the tie was destroyed, Zenkai Magine ended her tickling torture. Twilight and Rarity collapsed, gasping for air through their giggles. "Wha... heh... what happened?" Rarity stammered, pushing herself up.

Twilight, still clutching her sides, looked around in dazed confusion. "We're we just... wait?" She took a minute to try an fully remember what had just taken place. "What were we just doing? I'm so confused right now."

"Heh-heh," Zenkaiser chuckled, the Battle Fever energy fading as he tossed the shredded tie aside. He loomed over Academy World, who was cowering on the ground. "Now your control over this school is completely gone!" Kaito raised his geartlinger, ready to deliver a final blast. "Time to finish you!"

"I'm not going down like this in the academy!" Academy World raised his hands to initiate his final, surprising, ultimate attack! "Chalkboard Clap!" His palms slammed together, and a thick cloud of white chalk dust erupted from between his hands, momentarily blinding Zenkaiser.

The hero stumbled back, coughing as the gritty powder coated his visor and filled the air around him. "Ah, my eyes!"

By the time his vision cleared, Academy World was already scrambling through the school's front doors. "Wah! Come Back!!!" The white hero yelled as he sprinted after Academy World in frustration.

Sunset, on the other hand, couldn't help but smile as Academy World's grip on her friends finally shattered. The four girls stumbled out of their conga line, blinking rapidly as if waking from a dream. The four kikainoids made sure to see if the six of them were alright. Earning themselves a few wide eyes and confused glances, before reassuring they were okay. Obviously, they were confused. And she was going to have to explain a whole bunch of things to them. But for now, she had just one thing to say.

"Hey, can someone please untie me?!"

"SUNSET!!!" All six girls rushed to her side, their voices overlapping in frantic apologies and concern.

Back in the school halls, Academy World scrambled frantically past rows of lockers. He turned his head to see Zenkaiser charging after him.

"Full Power Chasing!" Zenkaiser yelled, tearing down the hallway.

"*huff-huff* As long as I stay ahead of him, I can find a way to take back my academ—eeeeehhhhh!" Academy World's frantic escape hit a literal slippery slope when he slipped on a puddle of murky water. He came crashing down and fell flat on his face. He raised his bruised head to see that the water came from a kicked-over janitor's bucket. Next to the foot responsible for kicking it over. He followed the leg up to see the towering figure of Principal Celestia standing over him. Along with Vice-Principal Luna.

"Oops," Celestia murmured, her voice echoing with icy calm as she gazed down at the spluttering villain.

"That's why there's no running in the halls," Luna declared, as she watched him squirm.

Academy World struggled to get back on his feet, but it was too late to run. Zenkaiser caught up in a flash, already cranking his Geartlinger with furious speed. As he completed the crank, an arrow-like symbol materialized behind. The mighty symbol of the Zenkaiger team. And the symbol seemed to follow him as he was running. "Time to end this!"

He leaped into the air, channeling every ounce of his strength into his right foot. Academy World barely had time to raise his hands in a feeble defense before Zenkaiser’s flying kick connected.

HERO! SUPER ZENKAI TIME!!

Zenkaiser’s boot slammed into Academy World’s chest, the momentum driving them both down the hall like a comet. The Zenkaiger logo flying after them. You can imagine the shocked look on Celestia and Luna’s faces.

Zenkaiser’s kick drove Academy World backward with unstoppable force. The villain’s back slammed into the school's brick wall and then straight through it, exploding outward in a shower of dust and debris. Zenkaiser kicked off Academy World's chest, launching himself high into the sky like a rocket. The massive, shimmering Zenkaiger logo followed him upward as Zenkaiser flipped midair, aiming his Geartlinger downward with both hands.

DAI ZENKAI!!!

"Zenkai Finish Buster!" Zenkaiser roared. His Geartlinger unleashed a torrent of white energy, pure and blinding, that slammed into Academy World. His mechanical body convulsed violently, sparks erupting from every seam as the beam brought him to his knees. And to finish the job, the flying logo dropped like a meteor, slamming down onto the villain with earth-shaking force. Academy World let out one final, guttural shriek before he exploded into a colossal fireball. Smoke and flames burst outwards as a small gear shot from the explosion and flew deep into Canterlot City.

Zenkaiser landed lightly on the grass just outside the shattered wall, the dust from Academy World's explosion still swirling in the air. This school was saved, the students were free, and the villain was gone. He felt really good about himself. Until he turned to his left to see the principal sisters staring at him through the massive, jagged hole he'd just kicked Academy World through. Celestia’s usually serene expression was frozen in wide-eyed disbelief, while Luna’s mouth hung slightly open, her gaze fixed on the wreckage

"Oh, uh, I'm so sorry about the wall!" Zenkaiser blurted out, bowing deeply. "Uhm, I'll fix it up real quick!"

He fumbled around the broken bricks, trying to stack a few precariously. "Uh, maybe like this? Or, uh..." His voice trailed off as Celestia held her hand up.

"It's alright," Celestia said, her voice carrying a hint of confusion. "We'll take care of it, but thanks." Not the first time a giant hole was blasted through the school. Not even the second time.

Zenkaiser nodded awkwardly before sprinting back to the courtyard. Leaving a couple of very confused principals.

"Who was that... oddly dressed young man?" Luna murmured, watching Zenkaiser depart.

"I'm not sure," the older sister murmured. "But I think he just saved our school."

Back at the courtyard, Sunset sat rubbing her freed arms as she explained everything. The Tojitendo, the Zenkaiger, everything. Her friends listened wide-eyed, occasionally glancing at the kikainoids and Secchan.

"So, if I'm following correctly," Twilight Sparkle said, her brow furrowed in concentration, "you're saying that Academy World was brainwashing us into believing he was our principal?" She gestured at the kikainoids, who stood nearby. "And these... heroes... traveled here from another dimension and were able to free us?" Sunset nodded, relieved to see her friends processing the truth. Nearby, Zenkaiser skidded to a halt, breathing heavily as he joined the group.

"And Academy World was part of an evil organization called the Tojitendo that the five of you defeated before, but is now back and in our world for reasons you're not sure about?" Rainbow Dash summarized.

"That's the gist of it, kiddo," Zenkai Juran confirmed.

"I... still have so many questions," Twilight began, but her words were swallowed by a deafening sonic boom before she pointed up in the air. "Like what is that?!"

The clouds in the sky ripped open above Canterlot City, torn apart by a violent descent. A massive shape plummeted earthward, landing with ground-shaking force. Right in the busiest part of the city! Cars screeched to a halt as the massive object blocked their paths. People screamed and scrambled for cover as the dust settled, revealing the intruder: a towering robot, its frame sleek and menacing black. It was as tall as the highest skyscraper. It stood on powerful, clawed feet, its thick tail lashing behind it like a whip. Where a face should have been was a single, colossal, unblinking red eye that glowed with malevolent light, scanning the panicked streets.

"Kudaitest has arrived!" The massive robot's voice boomed across the city.

"Huh, Kudaitest!" The Zenkaiger exclaimed in complete shock.

The Rainbooms were all speechless, jaws hanging open as they stared at the gigantic machine. They've never seen anything like that before. Huge and evil! The Zenkaiger were surprised as well, but for a different reason. The Kudaitests were things they dealt with on their world countless times. Emphasis on their world! How could one show up here!

"That... that thing is enormous!" Rarity shrieked.

"And it's gonna flatten Canterlot City!" Sunset followed up.

Rainbow Dash wasn't about to let some hundred foot tall robot intimidate her! Mostly. "Well, what are waiting for? We have to stop it!"

Fluttershy, on the other hand, wasn't as confident. "But how would we even fight something that big?" True, they've defeated a big, evil robot before. But it was a toaster! And nowhere near the same height as this thing!

Things only went from bad to worse as the Kudaitest finally spotted what it was scanning for. Amid the rubble of crushed cars and shattered pavement, a small, sparking, damaged gear. Academy World's gear! The Kudaitest's massive, clawed foot descended with a deliberate stomp, crushing the gear beneath its foot. The instant the gear shattered, purple smoke erupted from its foot, swirling upward. The smoke engulfed the Kudaitest's entire body for a brief moment, making the giant robot shudder violently. When the smoke cleared, the robot's head had changed dramatically. Becoming the blocky school-shaped head of Academy World. The Kudaitest has now become Great Academy World!

"I'm overflowing with the power of the academy!" Great Academy World boomed as a wave of energy pulsed from its chest. A menacing light erupted outward, washing over Canterlot City. And in a flash, the city was filled with giant desks, huge school supplies, towering stacks of textbooks, and a colossal clock tower that pierced the skyline.

The Rainbooms were a bit nervous but weren't just gonna stand around. If they had to fight a hundred-foot robot in order to save Canterlot City, then so be it! Fortunately, they didn't have to.

"Sunset," Zenkaiser called out. He stepped forward, placing himself between the Rainbooms and the colossal Great Academy World. "Don't worry. We'll take care of this."

Kaito raised his Geartlinger high, his voice ringing with unwavering determination. "Everyone, let's go!"

"Okay!" The four Kikainoids snapped into formation beside him, and opened the compartment on their Geartlingers. Each pulled out their signature gear and flipped it over, revealing the Zenkaiger symbol on the reverse side. With synchronized precision, they slammed the gears back into their weapons and rapidly turned the cranks.

BIG BANG!

With their geartlingers pointed into the sky, the four kikainoids fired simultaneously. The Zenkaiger materialized from the shot before descending towards them. The symbol phased through their bodies, causing them to grow rapidly.

GO! GO!! GO-GO-GOOOO!!!

ZENKAI JURAN GAON MAGINE VROON!!!!

"Kikai Transform!" As the Zenkaiger symbol pulsed through them, their bodies didn't just grow—their bodies twisted and reshaped into completely different forms. Each one announced the name of their new forms.

"Juran Tyranno!"

"Gaon Lion!"

"Magine Dragon!"

"Vroon Dump!"

Just as their new names implied, Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon transformed into a giant mechanical t-rex, lion, dragon, and dump truck, respectively. And the Rainbooms all marveled at the sight.

"Whoa!" Rainbow Dash yelled, her eyes wide with excitement.

"That's incredible!" Twilight Sparkle couldn't help but analyze the transformation process. Especially since the logic behind it seemed non-existent.

"Heh, not done yet!" Zenkaiser yelled, opening his own Geartlinger. He pulled out his signature gear, flipped it over, and slammed it back in. "Zenkai Combine!" He cranked the handle rapidly, and fired a blast skyward.

BIG BANG!

The blast exploded into a colossal, shimmering Zenkaiger symbol that hung suspended for a breathless moment before plummeting earthward. It slammed into the ground behind the giant Zenkaiger.

ZENKAI GATTAI!

Materializing around Juran Tyranno and Gaon Lion... it appeared to resemble a baseball stadium. Don't ask.

"Man, it's been some time, huh?" Juran Tyranno chuckled.

"Yeah, let's show them that we still got it" Gaon Lion roared.

While within the stadium, a giant ethereal Zenkaiser appeared, slowly bringing his hands together.

ZENKAI!!

With that, Juran Tyranno and Gaon Lion began to transform once more. Their bodies twisted and reshaped. Their beastly jaws opened wide as limbs folded into place. The two became symmetrical halves of what would soon be a single entity. Goan Lion becoming the right half, Juran Tyranno becoming the left.

"Like riding a bike!" Juran Tyranno roared before the two halves slammed together.

GASHIN!

Zenkaiser was then transported inside a cockpit, that would soon be used to pilot the newly combined mecha. He placed his Geartlinger on the control panel and the final process of the combination sequence began.

ZENKAI JURAN + ZENKAI GAON!

GO! GO!! GO! GO!! GO! GO!! GO! GO!!

After a few more adjustments, the legs and arms locking into place, the two separate heroes fused completely. Into a new form. The giant's chest plate locked into position to finally reveal the head of the new heroic mecha.

ZENKAI-OH JURAGAON!

"Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon!" The two voices roared as one from the colossal mecha, along with Zenkaiser, as it wielded the sword and shield Zenkai Juran previously had.

As all that was going on, Magine Dragon and Vroon Dump were undergoing their own transformations. Thier's happening in a boxing ring instead of a baseball stadium, though. Again, don't ask.

ZENKAI GATTAI!

"After all the times we've done this, are you finally used to combining?" Vroon Dump asked.

"Hurry! Hurry! I can't wait to combine again!" Magine Dragon chirped, not hearing a word Vroon Dump was saying.

ZENKAI!!

Just like with Juran Tyranno and Gaon Lion, Magine Dragon and Vroon Dump reshaped into halves of a new single entity. Magine Dragon the right, Vroon Dump the left.

"I guess i have my answer," Vroon Dump said with a bit of shock to Magine Dragon's enthusiasm. With that, the halves slammed together.

GASHIN! ZENKAI VROON + ZENKAI MAGINE!

ICHI, NI, SAN-SHI-GO! ICHI, NI, SAN-SHI-GO!

The wheels of Vroon Dump locked into place on the bottom of the legs. While the wings of Magine Dragon are attached to the back. The chest plate locked into position, and the head emerged.

ZENKAI-OH VROOMAGINE!

"Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine!" Their two voices harmonized into one booming declaration as the colossal mech stood tall, wielding the Vroon Pick.

Great Academy World's turned around to find two colossal mechs standing ready. The Rainbooms could only stare, utterly amazed. And a bit confused.

Twilight Sparkle adjusted her glasses, her mind racing. "Wait, so the four regular sized robots got really big and turned into two different robots?"

"That is so awesome!" Rainbow Dash yelled, practically vibrating with excitement.

"You got this, Kaito!" Sunset yelled, although she wasn't entirely sure he could still hear her.

"Come on, guys! Let's finish this!" Kaito shouted from Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon's cockpit. The colossal mecha surged forward, its shield raised and sword gleaming. Beside it, Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine charged, Vroon Pick ready for a crushing blow.

But Great Academy World didn't flinch. Instead, it raised one massive hand—not to attack, but to point dramatically at the towering clock that now dominated Canterlot City's skyline. "Halt!" Its amplified voice boomed, freezing the Zenkaiger mid-charge. "Observe the hour! It's time to begin your classes at the academy!"

The colossal clock face showed eight o'clock sharp. Which was in no way accurate to the actual time. But apparently, we're playing by Great Academy World's rules.

"First period: Mathematics!" Great Academy World boomed. He turned their attention to a giant chalkboard. "Solve this equation!"

The Zenkaiger mechas stared at the chalkboard, and what they saw was probably the most baffling mathematical expression ever conceived. It wasn't just complex—it was a chaotic jumble of symbols that defied all logic: a square root sign stretched over a matrix of Greek letters, tangled with integrals that looped back on themselves like Möbius strips, and topped with a pi symbol wearing a tiny hat.

"Eh! What the heck is that!" Juran's voice said through Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon.

"There's no way that's a real mathematic equation!" Vroon's voice announced.

"Times up!" Great Academy World boomed. And for failing to answer, the Zenkaiger mecha were instantly slammed by an onslaught of flying math equations and numbers. They were bombarded with numbers that exploded on impact. Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon staggered backward, its shield cracking under the barrage of Pi symbols and cubed roots. Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine fared no better, the Vroon Pick swinging wildly to deflect logarithmic functions that burst into showers of chalk dust.

"Aw, how was that fair?!" Zenkaiser complained.

"Second period: gym!" Great Academy World announced, ignoring the Zenkaiger's struggles. "Dodgeball!" Before the mechas could recover, the villain snapped his fingers. Instantly, colossal dodgeballs materialized in the air. They rained down like meteors. The balls slammed into Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon and Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine with explosive force. Each impact sent shockwaves rippling through the mechas' frames. Needless to say, dodging was completely impossible.

"Next period: Lunch!" Great Academy World bellowed.

The beaten mechas slowly rose, thinking they might finally get a breather. "Well, how bad can lunch be?" Gaon muttered.

"Food fight!" Great Academy World roared. From every direction, giant globs of gelatinous mystery meat, steaming mountains of mashed potatoes, and tidal waves of lumpy gravy materialized mid-air. They hurtled toward the Zenkaiger mechas like edible artillery. And once again, they were powerless to stop it.

"Ugh, how much more of this?" Magine groaned as Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine wiped lumpy gravy from its face.

"Until the clock strikes three, you can not leave the academy!" Great Academy World boomed.

And this kept going. Period after period. One after another. Chemistry. Acid rain poured down, sizzling against the Zenkaiger mechas' armor. Fourth period: History. Giant stone tablets depicting obscure dates slammed into them like blunt hammers. Fifth period: Literature. An avalanche of heavy, leather-bound books pummeled them relentlessly. Each "lesson" was a fresh assault, leaving Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon and Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine staggering.

The Rainbooms watched in horror. And a bit of disappointment in Rainbow Dash's case. "Huh, TV made giant robot fights look way cooler!"

The two battered Zenkaiger mechas struggled upright. Things were looking bad, but at least they managed to survive every period a school could have.

"Surely, now that we've done all the classes, we can fight back," Juran said with hope.

The Zenkaiger looked at the clock, only to see the minute hand click forward with a deafening tock. One minute had passed. One agonizing, endless minute.

"EEEHHHH!!!" Sounded the collective scream from the Zenkaiger, echoing from both mechas.

"How could it have only been a minute?!" Magine wailed as Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine stumbled backward.

"But we did all the classes!" Zenkaiser yelled from the cockpit. "What do we do now?!"

Great Academy World's massive school-shaped head tilted. "Heh-heh, I guess you'll just have to do all the classes all over again!"

Without any warning, every "period" attacked simultaneously. Calculus equations, textbooks, dodgeballs, old food, the works. It was like being trapped inside a school-themed hurricane. At this rate, the Zenkaiger will lose for sure.

"Hang in there, Zenkaiger, tune!" Secchan chirped from the sidelines, fluttering anxiously.

The Rainbooms watched, hearts pounding, as the battered mechas were engulfed in a swirling vortex of school-themed destruction.

"We can't just stand here!" Applejack yelled. "There's gotta be somethin' we can do!"

"Right, uh... any ideas?" Rarity asked, fluttering her hands nervously.

Sunset Shimmer's eyes snapped to the towering clock face, its hands crawling at a glacial pace. There no way the Zenkaiger will last until that clock strikes three.

...

Unless... no, that was ridiculous. Then again, when it comes to these guys, the idea maybe be just crazy enough to work. Sunset turned to Twilight, the only one that could make her plan work. "Hey, Twilight, let's try something."

Great Academy World raised both colossal arms, gathering crackling energy that warped the air around its fists. "And now: Detention... for eternity!" it boomed, preparing to unleash a devastating blast upon the battered Zenkaiger mechas. This was it—the finishing move. And possibly, the end of the...

*DONG!* *DONG!* *DONG!*

The deep, resonant chime of the colossal clock tower echoed across the transformed city, cutting through the chaos like a physical force. Great Academy World froze mid-motion before looking at the clock tower.

The hands pointed directly to three o'clock. With a little help from Twilight Sparkle's telekinesis. She lowered her hands, having completed Sunset's plan. Now all they can do is hope it works.

"School is dismissed!" Great Academy World boomed, its massive arms lowering instantly. The swirling vortex of equations, dodgeballs, and textbooks vanished as if they'd never existed.

The two colossal mechas stumbled back on their feet, just as Great Academy World approached them. "We'll pick up the lessons tomorrow," the giant robot announced in a suddenly calm, almost cheerful tone.

"Oh, uh... of course, teacher!" Zenkaiser stammered. The four other Zenkaiger's voice muttered similar statements.

"Don't forget to read chapters five through seven!" Great Academy World called over as he turned and walked away. "Now, where did I park my..."

KIKAI! SUPER ZENKAI TIME!!

Great Academy World slowly turned its massive, blocky head. Fear absolutely consumed him as Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon and Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine stood ready, their weapons crackling with intense, vibrant energy. He knew this could only mean one thing!

"Full Power Finisher!" Zenkaiser roared as he pulled the trigger on his Geartlinger.

The mechas surged forward in a blur of motion. Zenkai-Oh JuraGaon's sword and Zenkai-Oh VrooMagine's pick sliced through the air with blinding speed, each landing three devastating strikes in perfect, synchronized rhythm.

"Juran Sword: Full Moon Crash!"

"Vroon Pick: Accel Smash!"

Six simultaneous strikes ripped through Great Academy World's armored frame, each impact unleashing a shockwave of multicolored energy that pulsed outward like a dying star. His body sparked violently, bursts of energy exploding off his joints and torso as he staggered backward.

DAI ZENKAI!!!

"UUUUAAAAGGGHH!" With this being the end for him, Great Academy World said his final words. "Stay in school... kids..."

And with that, Great Academy World fell backwards and exploded in a spectacular fireball that consumed Great Academy World entirely. The Zenkaiger mechas smoothly pivoted away from the blast, striking synchronized victory poses as the flames roared behind them.

At last, the gear powering Great Academy World shattered into harmless sparks. Instantly, the towering clock, oversized desks, and giant textbooks simply faded away, leaving Canterlot City restored to its normal state.

The Rainbooms cheered, happier than ever that Canterlot City was restored to normal. And that the terror of Academy World was finally behind them. Thanks to the Zenkaiger.

"This Full Power World's... All Okay!" Zenkaiser declared as the twin mechas stood triumphant.

Having defeated Great Academy World, the Zenkaiger changed back to their untransformed selves and regrouped with the Rainbooms. Secchan fluttered above Kaito's shoulder, chirping happily. "Mission accomplished, tune!" he announced.

Sunset Shimmer stepped forward, a relieved smile spreading across her face. "You guys really pulled through," she said, her gaze shifting between Kaito and the Kikainoids. "But you did have us worried there for a minute."

"Heh, well, we never would've been able to finish him off without your help," Kaito admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "Thanks so much!"

Juran placed a comforting hand on Twilight's shoulder. "Yeah, you did great, kiddo!"

Twilight blushed slightly, adjusting her glasses. "Yeah, well, it's the least I could do after we... uh, attacked you." She glanced at her friends, who all nodded sheepishly.

"We're really sorry about that," Fluttershy murmured, twisting her fingers nervously.

"Super-Duper extra sorry!" Pinkie Pie bounced beside Fluttershy, her grin wide but sincere.

"Oh, no-no," Vroon waved his hands dismissively. "There's no need to apologize."

"Academy World was manipulating you," Gaon added firmly, crossing his arms. "He made you do those awful things."

"Yes, well, the worst thing he made us do was wear those dreadful uniforms," Rarity shuddered at the thought of wearing them.

"Way to have your priorities straight," Rainbow Dash chuckled, rolling her eyes.

"Okay, so maybe not the worst thing," Rarity conceded with a dramatic sigh. "But still!" Everyone burst into relieved laughter, the tension finally dissolving.

"I can't believe you girls have real magic!" Magine blurted out, her eyes wide with wonder as she leaned in close to Twilight and Sunset. "Can you show me how it works? Please?" Her fingers twitched excitedly.

"Heh, I guess we could show you a few things," Sunset chuckled. "Fair warning, though—we're still not a hundred percent on how it works ourselves."

As the two groups began to mingle, Juran approached Kaito and Secchan. His tone, a tad more serious.

"Hey, Kaito," The elder Kikainoid murmured, his voice low enough not to interrupt the others. "Academy World said he was built to be an exact copy of the original. That means someone else had to have rebuilt him." Secchan fluttered nervously, confirming the uneasy truth with a quiet "tune..."

"Hmm, your right," Kaito muttered.

"Also, why would the Tojitendo attack here of all places?" Juran continued, scratching his chin thoughtfully.

Kaito frowned, his gaze drifting upward as he pondered the question. Were the Tojitendo after these girls' magic? Or was it something else? But as Kaito continued to ponder, something above the school caught his eye.

"Ah!" He exclaimed while pointing upward. Secchan followed his finger, chirping urgently. Above Canterlot High's roof, a sleek black drone hovered silently. Its lens glinted like a predator's eye, rotating slowly to scan the courtyard below.

"EEEEEEHHHHH!!!!" Secchan shrieked, drawing everyone's attention. "That's the thing I was chasing when we first got here, tune!"

With its cover blown, the drone shot upwards like a startled bird. Twilight Sparkle's eyes narrowed behind her glasses. Without hesitation, she tapped into her magic. A shimmering purple aura enveloped her as she transformed: pony ears sprouted, wings unfurled from her back in a burst of light, and her hair cascaded into an impossibly long, shimmering ponytail.

"I'm going after it!" she declared, her voice layered with determination. If this were some more Tojitendo tech, she wasn't letting it escape. What better chance to study it?

"Twilight, wait!" Sunset yelled, but it was too late. Twilight was already airborne, her wings beating powerfully as she shot after the drone. The sleek black device zipped away, with Twilight hot on its tail.

"Whoa!" Kaito yelled in amazement. "So, you girls can change too!"

Sunset Shimmer cursed under her breath as Twilight vanished over the school's rooftop. "*sigh* Yeah, and I guess Twi can take care of herself," she muttered, though her clenched fists betrayed her worry.

Secchan fluttered anxiously beside her. "Don't worry, Sunset Shimmer, tune! So far, that thing hasn't shown any signs of being..."

*FZZZT!*

A blinding flash of light erupted around the tiny robot bird, swallowing him whole. Sunset recoiled, shielding her eyes against the sudden brilliance. When she lowered her arm, Secchan was gone—vanished without a trace, leaving only a faint ozone smell hanging in the air.

"Huh?! Secchan!" Kaito yelled, scanning the empty air where the robot bird had vanished.

Sunset's hands flew to her mouth, eyes wide with shock. "What was that flash? Where'd he go?"

Everyone started to look around frantically, scanning the sky above them as well. Kaito clenched his fists, panic tightening his voice. "Secchan! Where are you?!"

"Heh-heh-heh..." A low, gravelly chuckle echoed from behind them, chillingly close. "Looking for this?" The voice dripped with smug amusement. The Rainbooms and Zenkaiger whirled around as one, their hearts sinking. Standing nonchalantly behind them was another Tojitendo World. "Heh-heh, we meet again, Zenkaiger!"

His body was just like Academy World's, but his head was completely different. It looked as if his head was wrapped in bandages. And he also wore sharp sunglasses and a purple fedora. Like Academy World though, this World was also one that the Zenkaiger also recognized.

"Invisible World?!" They all yelled in unison, staring at the grinning Tojitendo World.

The new villain stumbled back. Seeming to be utterly insulted. "I'm not Invisible World!" he snapped. "I'm Thief World! THIEF... WORLD!!"

"Eh? But you look just like Invisible World!" Vroon blurted out, pointing at Thief World's bandaged face and fedora.

Invisible World was another World the Zenkaiger fought in the past. You can probably guess what his powers included. But, this machine that looks exactly like him is claiming to be someone else. Someone the Zenkaiger should know.

"You have to remember me, the thief. Right, Zenkaiser?" Thief World pleaded, tapping his bandaged forehead.

"I don't know who you are!" Kaito yelled, fists clenched as he stepped forward. "But give Secchan back!"

Thief World chuckled darkly, holding up Secchan tight in his grip. "Very well! If you didn't remember me from before, then you'll remember from henceforth! As I disappear like a true thief!" He raised his fist in the air and yelled at the top of his metallic lungs. "Portal World!"

Silence hung thick in the air. Thief World stood still for a moment before lowering his arm slowly. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Ahem. Portal World!" he shouted again, louder this time, gesturing emphatically toward the sky. Nothing happened. Not even a flicker of light or a ripple in reality. Just the chirping of a distant bird and the confused stares of the Zenkaiger and Rainbooms.

Thief World shifted uncomfortably, adjusting his purple fedora. "Uh... uh... Portal World?"

With a streak of rainbow light, Rainbow Dash swooped in and grabbed Secchan away from Thief World's grip. "Yoink!" she yelled triumphantly.

"Wah!" With a snap of his fingers, Secchan once again vanished in a flash of light, reappearing within his clutches again.

"Give him back!" Pinkie Pie yelled, bouncing forward only to grasp empty air as Thief World sidestepped with unnatural speed. Gaon lunged next but came up short as well. Both groups surged forward in a chaotic scramble—Applejack diving low, Vroon scrambling sideways, Sunset reaching desperately—but Thief World was able to avoid every grab.

His luck started to run out as the Rainbooms and Zenkaiger formed a tight circle, forcing him backward step by step. "Eh, stay back!" Thief World yelled, waving Secchan wildly like a shield. He backed up closer and closer to the Canterlot High statue base l. "I'm warning you! Don't underestimate a thief!"

He couldn't take many more steps back. Eventually, he was gonna hit the statue base. And when he did, Thief World stumbled backward—and froze. Not because he hit stone, but because his back sank into it. The solid marble shimmered like disturbed water, swallowing his shoulders and hips.

"Hmm?" The villain turned his head. The solid marble base of the Canterlot High statue wasn't solid at all where he touched it. Instead, it rippled like dark water, cold and strangely inviting. "A portal?" Thief World murmured.

Sunset Shimmer gasped as Thief World discovered the portal. "Uh-oh." She knew exactly where this was going. And it wasn't good.

"Aha! Portal World did come through for this thief!" Thief World cackled. He didn't hesitate. With a final, mocking wave of Secchan clutched in his fist, he got into lunging position.

"Quick, stop him!" Sunset yelled, lunging forward with Kaito and the others close behind. But they were to late.

"Time to escape like a true thief!" Thief World yelled, jumping straight through the rippling portal. Whether he knew it or not, he and Secchan were bound for Equestria!

"No, wait!" Sunset Shimmer lunged, fingers brushing empty air as Thief World vanished completely into the statue's base.

"Secchan!" Kaito yelled, skidding to a halt, inches from the statue base. The marble surface rippled once more, then solidified instantly, leaving no trace of Thief World or the tiny robot bird.

"This is bad," Sunset breathed, her voice tight. "That portal leads straight to Equestria!" She explained to the unaware Zenkaiger.

"Equestria?" The four Kikainoids echoed in unison.

Sunset turned to the portal, her expression hardening. "Okay, everyone, wait here—I'm going after them," she declared, already stepping toward the statue's base.

"We're coming with you!" Juran declared, stepping forward with Gaon, Vroon, and Magine close behind.

Sunset's eyes widened at the thought of the Zenkaiger following her into Equestria. Her friends going to Equestria for the first time caused enough confusion, especially since crossing over to the other side meant being turned into a pony. Wait, would that even happen to alien robots? Either way, Equestria probably wasn't ready for an encounter with the Zenkaiger.

"Uh, actually..." Sunset said, waving her hands quickly as Juran and the others moved toward the portal. "It's probably best if I go it alone. Equestria's... complicated." She locked eyes with Kaito, whose fists were clenched tight with worry. "I promise you, Kaito. I'll get Secchan back." Her voice was steady, carrying the weight of a vow. "I've got friends over there that will be more than happy to help."

Kaito hesitated, glancing at the now-solid statue base. "Hmmm," was all he managed—a low, uncertain hum.

Sunset Shimmer didn't wait. She stepped closer to the statue's base. "Make sure to tell Twilight what's going on when she comes back! And watch out for any more surprises. I'll be back as soon as I can!" Sunset yelled as she leaped into the portal.

Kaito stared at the now-solid marble, fists trembling. Secchan's cheerful chirps echoed in his memory. How he was there for him while his parents were missing. And how he would give them advice during battle. He was more than just a partner—he was family. Kaito clenched his fists tighter.

"Secchan..." Without another thought, Kaito lunged forward, straight into the statue's base. "Full Power Non-Stop!!!" he yelled, vanishing into rippling marble as the others shouted protests behind him.

Everyone froze, jaws slack and eyes wide as Kaito vanished into the solid marble. Juran’s hand was still outstretched, fingers grasping at empty air. But it didn't take him long to shake off his shock.

"Alright, if Kaito’s going, then we are too!" Juran roared, charging toward the statue with Gaon, Magine, and Vroon right behind him.

Applejack lunged forward, planting her hands firmly against Juran's chest. "Whoa there, big guy!"

Fluttershy was already clinging to Gaon's arm with surprising strength, her voice gentle but firm. "You don't understand what you're walking into!"

Rainbow Dash pushed against Vroon's shoulders. "Hold on! Definitely not a good idea!" She grunted.

And Rarity held her arms out wide, blocking Magine's path. With Pinkie Pie pulling her back by the waist. "Darling, you simply can't!" Rarity insisted, her voice sharp with alarm.

"Sunset knows what she's doing!" Pinkie Pie insisted, still pulling Magine back.

The girls and the Kikainoids struggled against each other, completely unaware of the shimmering purple light gathering beneath their feet.

Meanwhile, Twilight was closing in on the drone above Canterlot High. "Almost..." she muttered. She held her hand out and used her telekinesis to pull the drone into her grasp. "Gotcha!" she yelled, clutching the black drone tight. She began to descend toward the schoolyard, her wings beating steadily. But as she neared the ground, she saw something strange: her friends and the Zenkaiger were all pushing against each other. But even more strange, a purple light was gathering beneath their feet. Twilight's eyes widened. "Oh no! My friends!" she yelled, diving faster.

Suddenly, four portals exploded open beneath each of the struggling groups. One underneath Juran and Applejack, another beneath Gaon and Fluttershy, a third beneath Vroon and Rainbow Dash, and the last beneath Magine, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie.

"Huh?" They gasped as they looked down to see swirling purple vortexes beneath their feet. Before anyone could react, they all fell through, yelling as they vanished into the rippling darkness. The portals snapped shut instantly, leaving the Canterlot High courtyard eerily silent and empty.

Seconds later, Twilight Sparkle landed in the courtyard, clutching the captured drone. "Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, everyone?!" She yelled, scanning the empty schoolyard. Her heart pounded. Everyone was gone.

And just as Twilight thought things couldn't get worse, the sky suddenly plunged into darkness. Thick storm clouds boiled overhead, lightning flashing in every direction. Twilight looked up, clutching the drone tighter. "Oh, now what's going on?" she muttered.

Things were taking a turn for the worst. And Twilight could already tell that this sudden storm could only mean one thing: trouble!
