Chapter Text

Location: Mysterious Tower

"What to you think Master Yen-Sid wants to talk to us about." Sora asked as he and Riku were in the walking out of the Gummi Ship.

"Not Sure, the message just said he had a mission for the both of us." Riku answered. He too was curious about the mission and wondered where they were heading to this time. Upon entering the tower, Sora was tackled to the ground by two by two figures.

"SORA!" Riku looked down to see Donald and Goofy hugging Sora.

"Well, you both seem to be on good health." Roku said with a small smile. Sora laughed and pulled his partners off of him.

"Sorry Sora, it's just been a while since we've seen you!" Donald said smiling.

"Ahyuck! Yea when Master Yen-Sid told us you were coming, we high-tailed over her as quick as we could." Goofy said. Sora smiled and the trio high-fived. Riku smiled at the trio, but it quickly faded.

"Weird, I think I'm actually jealous of the bond those three have." Riku thought before walking into the tower.

"Hey wait up!" Sora said as he, Donald and Goofy quickly followed behind the silver haired boy. The warriors reached the top of the tower and opened the door to reveal Master Yen-Sid and King Mickey.

"Hey fellas!" Mickey Greeted. "Good to see you Mickey," Riku said with a slight bow.

"It's been a while your majesty." Sora said also bowing.

"Aww come on Sora, no need to be so formal with me." Mickey said with a smile.

"Hehe sorry Mickey." Sora said scratching the back of his head. The three key Bearers, Donald and Goofy all then turned to Master Yen-Sid.

"So what's that problem Master?" Riku asked. Yen-Sid took a deep breath.

"As you all know, I keep a close eye on the balance of Light and Darkness and I sense there are two worlds that are close to having the darkness take them. However, for every dark force there must be light and the light in each of those worlds is fighting back, but are weak. Riku, I'm sending you off to one of those worlds to meet an old acquaintance of mine. His name is Master Fu, Guardian of the Miraculous." The wise man explained. Riku and Sora raised an eyebrow at this.

"Guardian of the Miraculous?" Riku asked. Yen-Sid nodded.

"Yes, the Miraculous are powerful objects capable of giving its user a unique power. Two of these Miraculous are said to be the most powerful, the Cat Miraculous and the Ladybug Miraculous. When those two are joined together, they can be used to change reality itself." The old Master explained. Riku's eyes widened at what these 'Miraculous' could do.

"So what do you want me to do?" He asked.

"I fear that the Organization might try to target this world and take advantage of the darkness surrounding it." Yen-Sid explained.

"I understand, when do I leave?" The Young Master asked.

"We have a Gummi Ship already prepared for you." Yen-Sid said gesturing to the window. Riku looked to see the Falcon Gummi Ship all ready for him.

"Alright, thank you Master." Riku said with a bow. The old Wizard nodded.

"Be careful Riku, if the Organization does target that world you must be on your guard." He explained.

"I understand. Riku said with a nod.

"Good luck Riku, if you need us just call." Sora said with a smile. Riku smiled back at him.

"I know, later buddy." With that Riku walked out the door.

"Now Sora, for your Mission…"

Riku walked over to the Gummi ship and looked up at it.

"Black and silver….Perfect." He said with a small smile. He then walked inside and what he saw shocked him.

"The heck..?" He asked as he saw a huge room within the ship. Riku walked out of the ship looked all around it. It was the same exact size as Sora's but then…

"Why is it bigger on the inside?' Riku asked himself. The Silver haired boy went back inside still overwhelmed by the size of the ship inside.

"I guess I'll have to get use to it." He said. He actually found the place very cool, it had a fridge, a bed, a sofa and surprisingly a TV and training area.

"Yeesh if this is the Master treatment, I could get use to this." Riku said with a small smile. He then made his way to the cockpit and saw that his destination was set.

"Alright, let's see what this world has to offer." Riku said staring up the ship and with that he left Master Yen-Sid's tower.

TimeSkip

It had been two hours and Riku spent that time in the training room perfecting a few techniques.

"I wonder how much longer." He said dismissing his keyblade and walking over to cockpit. He looked out the window and saw the the world he was headed to was in sight.

"I don't know why but I'm getting a strange feeling about this world." Riku said with a serious look on his face

A/N: This is the first of three stories that are all connected! Riku, Sora and Kairi will be Heading off to different worlds alone fighting off Organization members and many monsters. As you can see, Riku is heading to the Miraculous World, where are Sora and Kairi heading...you'll have to wait and see in the upcoming stories.

Chapter Text

Location Paris, With Riku

Above the skies of Paris, a portal of light opened up and from it came a familiar black and silver ship. Riku looked out the window of the ship and looked to the city below. 

“Wow.” He said in amazement. The City was beautiful and it seems like some sort of festival was going on. “Wonder what’s going on down there. Well, only one way to find out.” Riku said before walking over to the controls and taking over manually. He saw a building big enough and tall enough to hide the Gummi Ship. He landed the ship in the center of the roof and the door next to him opened. 

“Alright, let’s take a look around.” Riku said walking out of the ship. He then jumped off  the building into a small alleyway and walks out onto the sidewalk. “Wow!” Riku said in surprise. The streets were all covered in red and black decorations, parade floats and food stands at every corner. “This actually looks amazing, I wonder what the occasion is.” Riku said to himself. As he walked through the city, he saw multiple posters of a girl wearing a red bodysuit with black polka dots and a boy wearing a black bodysuit and cat ears. He then stopped at one of the posters and began to read it. 

Heroes Day!

In Celebration of our city’s favorite Heros, Ladybug and Chat Noir! 

“ Ladybug and Chat Noir? The Master said something about a Cat and a Ladybug before I left the tower, they must have the two miraculous he spoke of ." Riku thought crossing his arms. 

"Mommy! Mommy! My balloon!" Riku was pulled out of his thoughts and turned to see a little girl crying. 

"Im sorry sweetie, it's too high up." The mother said sadly. More tears fell out of the girls eyes and she was about to scream. Lucky for her, a certain silver haired boy spotted her balloon and went to grab it. Riku jumped onto a trash can, up onto a tree and subtly cast a Stop spell on the balloon long enough for him to grab it. The mother and her daughter watched in awe as the silver haired boy landed in front on then with the balloon. Riku kneeled down to the little girl and handed her the balloon. 

"Here you go little one." He said with a smile. The little girl smiles back took the balloon from his hand. 

"Thank you." She said in a sweet tone. Riku nodded and the mother finally spoke up. 

"Thank you so much, i really appreciate it." She said. 

"It's no problem ma'am, just couldn't stand to see this cutie all sad." Riku said ruffling the little girls hair causing her to giggle. 

"Still thank you, also what you did was incredible. How did you learn to jump that high?" The mother asked. 

"I've been doing parkour stunts since I was 10. Jumping like that is pretty much childs play for me now." Riku half lied. 

"So cool! Mom I wanna learn parkour too!" The little girl said jumping up and down. Before the mom could say no, Riku spoke up again. 

"I don't think that's a good idea kiddo. Parkour takes a lot of trial and error and most of my training was error. I don't think your mom would want you breaking your arm." He explained. The small girl thought for a moment before she began rubbing her arm. 

"Ouchie." She said. 

"Exactly." Riku said. The mother smiled at the boy. 

"Thank you, the last thing I need is her jumping off the slide. Oh I'm sorry, i never got your name young man." She Said feeling a bit bad. 

“Oh sorry, it’s Riku Ma’am.” Riku said with a small smile. 

“Well, it's nice to meet you Riku. I’m Nadja and this little firecracker is my daughter Manon.” The mother now known as Nadja said. 

“HI!” Manon said waving at the silver haired boy. “

It’s nice to meet you both two.” Riku said with a slight bow. “Um, you mind telling me what’s going on around here. I’m new in town and I kinda feel out of the loop.” Riku said hoping to get a bit of info. 

“OH! OH! It’s for Ladybug, Chat Noir and the other heroes in the city!” Manon said while jumping up and down. Nadja giggled.

 “Yes the town is celebrating our favorite heroes, they have done so much for us and we wanted to thank them!” Najad said. 

“That’s actually really nice, they must have done a lot for this city.” Riku said crossing his arms. 

“Oh yes, helping others, saving us from Hawkmoth and his Akuma. They are all amazing people.” Nadja explained. Riku raised an eyebrow. 

“Hawkmoth? Akuma?” Riku asked in slight confusion. “Oh well you see-” 

*RING! RING!*

Nadja took her phone out of her pocket and answered it. “Yes!......ok…..Yes, I’m on my way!” She then hung up and looked to Riku. “I’m so sorry Riku, I have to get going, my boss is wondering who I am.” Nadja said before grabbing Manon’s hand. 

“It’s fine, you go and thank you.” Riku sia d Nadja nodded and SHe and Manon began walking away. 

“BYE RIKU!” Manon said waving to the boy. Riku smiled and waved back. “Well, I got a bit of info from that’s something. I’ll have to ask Master Fu about the rest when I find him.” RIku said before he started walking again. “ I should start looking for this Ladybug and Chat Noir first, maybe they can take me to Master Fu.” Riku thought. Just then, the silver haired boy stopped dead in his tracks and began sniffing the air. “I know that scent anywhere...Darkness!” Riku then began looking around and in the corner of her eye he saw a girl in a fox suit jumping from building to building. “It’s not too strong, but she is leaking darkness.” Riku said before running after the girl. 

With Lila, a few minutes ago...

“I HATE YOU LADYBUG!!!” Lila screamed in rage as she threw her laptop across the room. “I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU !!!!” Unknown to Lila a black butterfly entered her room and embedded itself in the girl’s bracelet.

“Volpina!”

“Hawkmoth!” 

“Your dreams were once a reality until Ladybug turned them into a nightmare! Regain your power of Illusion and make this ‘Heroes Day’ a Nightmare for all Parisians!”

“With great Pleasure Hawkmoth!” Soon Lila was covered in a black aura and in a few seconds she was wearing a skintight fox outfit, ears and mask. She was Volpina once again. Volpina quickly jumped out her window and made her way to the city. She knew what she had to do and how she was going to do it. Not only was she going to make the people of Paris feel pain and loss, she’ll make Ladybug look like a monster to the world. 

“ It’s finally payback time!” She thought before jumping to the tallest building she could find not noticing that there was someone following her from a safe distance. Volpina looked over at all the people below with a dark smirk on her face. 

“So many little ants, all filled with joy and happiness.” She then summoned her flute into her hands. “Let’s end that shall we.” She then began playing a small melody on her flute and said instrument started glowing. Volpina then pointed the flute to one of the giant balloons and fired an orange beam of light. Riku was a building away and saw what she had done. 

“What did she just do?” Riku asked himself as he was about to see something truly horrible happen. “As the orange light reached the Balloon, Ladybug and Chat Noir appeared from it, but Ladybug looked different.

“ Illusion Magic, but why ?” Riku thought. Just then the illusions of Ladybug and Chat Noir began fighting and it seemed Ladybug had the edge. The People of Paris were watching it all and some were ever recording it. 

“Everyone run, Ladybug has been Akumatized!” ‘Chat Noir’ said in a panic. 

“HAHAHAHAHAHA! Is that fear in your voice Kitty?” ‘Ladybug’ asked in a smug tone. 

“You wish!” ‘Chat’ said as he took out is bow staff. Ladybug lunged towards him and began attacking the blond with her yo-yo. The bug themed ‘Hero’ Then kicked the poor ‘cat’ in the gut causing him to fall to the ground. 

“Last chance kitty, be a good friend and give me your Miraculous!” ‘Ladybug’ commanded. 

“Sorry milady, but you’re no friend of mine until you’re de-Akumatized.” ‘Chat said Standing back up. 

“That’s too bad!” ‘Ladybug’ said as she wrapped her yo-yo around ‘Chat’s’ wrist. The Blonde smiled and pulled his arm back. 

“Thank you Bugaboo, now i have a present for you! I nice little CATACLYSM! ” He yelled as his hand was covered with destructive energy and nearing ‘Ladybug’s’ yo-yo. This time it was ‘Ladybug’s’ turn to smile as she yanked the ‘cat’ over to her and grabbed his Cataclysm arm. 

“Aww you shouldn’t have kitty, you should really have it BACK !” Just then, she forceed ‘Chat’ to hit his own stomach with his Cataclysm. 

“AHHHHHHHHHH!” ‘Chat’ screamed in pain as his whole body began to disintegrate. Lila from the top of the building began chuckling to herself as Riku from his building just stared at Volpina in shock and disgust. The people of Paris were doing no better than Riku, they had just watched their favorite hero kill her partner. Once ‘Chat’ was completely gone, ‘Ladybug’ picked up his Miraculous and began laughing. 

“YES I’VE WON AND PARIS IS DOWN ONE SUPERHERO! Don’t worry people of Paris, the worst is yet to come! Your ends will be just as dreadful as Chat’s!” She said before running off. Riku grit his teeth as he could feel the dread in the air. The people were giving off so much negativity that he was positive that the heartless were going to show up at any moment. Volpina looked over her work and smiled. Just then a butterfly symbol appeared over her face. 

“Dear Volpina, you have performed your roll well for the time being. We will meet again very soon.”

“I’ll be waiting Hawkmoth.” Just then another dark aura covered Volpina and she was back in her original clothes. Riku saw this and felt the darkness around her get weaker. 

“Her powers are gone, alright time to get some answers.” Riku said as he jumped over to the building where Lila was standing on. Lila continued looking over the city with a dark smile on her face not noticing the boy walking up to her. 

“You know-” Lila jumped slightly and turned to face Riku. “This is just wrong on so many levels, you know that right?” He asked glaring at the girl. Lila quickly composed herself. 

“Oh I know, Ladybug killed her partner it’s horrible.” She said holding her hand to her mouth. Riku just rolled his eyes. 

“You’re not fooling anyone, I saw what you did! You created that illusion, do you realize what you’ve done!” Riku said getting angry. Lila scoffed and put her hand on her hip. 

“I know exactly what I did and now this city and Ladybug are about to get what they deserve!” Lila said with a smirk.

“What are you-” Riku’s thoughts were cut off as he sensed something. He looked at the city and saw hundreds of red butterflies flying around. He turned back to Lila. 

“What are those things?” He asked with a glare. Lila chuckled. 

“Hawkmoth’s Victory.” She answered. Just then a scream was heard and Riku looked back to see that Butterflies were turning people into monsters. 

“What that hell?” He whispered to himself. 

“HAHAHAHA! Seems my little plan worked to perfection!” She said as she continued laughing.

“What have you done!?” Before riku could get an answer, another red Butterfly flew over to Lila and embedded itself in her bracelet. 

“Perfect timing!” She said as she transformed into Volpina once again only this time her outfit was pure scarlet! 

"That’s better, now I can’t have any witnesses of my involvement here.” She then summoned her Flute again. “So you’re going to have take a long nap.” She said with a smirk. Riku narrowed his eyes at the girl. 

“Sorry Fox girl-” He then summoned his Way to the Dawn and got into his battle stance. “But I don’t plan to go down easily.” He said in a confident tone. Volpina was shocked to see the boy summon a weapon, but she shook it off. 

“Alright if that’s how you want it! Let’s dance!”

Chapter Text

Location: Roof of a building in Paris..

Objective: Riku Defeat Volpina!

Riku and Volpina charged one another and both of their weapons clashed upon them being close to one another. Both fighters tried to overpower the other, but neither were making much progress trying to do so. Volpina then decided to play dirty and kick Riku in the stomach forcing him back a bit. “So not only are you an illusionist, you also have no sense of honor.” Riku said, regaining his balance. 

“Please, you think I have time for that kind of nonsense? Just fight me!” Volpina said, launching herself at Riku. Riku narrowed his eyes at the girl and raised his Keyblade in the air. 

“STRIKE!” Just as he said that a bolt of lightning shot down from the sky and struck Volpina before she could reach him. 

“AHHHH!!” Volpina screamed in pain. The Fox was now on her knees and breathing heavily with sparks of electricity still surrounding her. “Wha-What did you just do?” She said slowly looking up to him. Riku lowered his Keyblade. 

“Give up Fox girl, you can’t beat me!” He said avoiding her question. Volpina stood back up and glared at the boy.

 “Yea right.” Just then her Flute began to glow and she raised in the air. After a few seconds, a thick layer of smoke began covering the building and Riku could no longer see Volpina. “If you think your silly illusions are enough to beat me you’re wrong.” Riku said, getting back into his battle stance. Volpina had gone eerily quiet and Riku didn’t like that. Then out of nowhere, Riku was surrounded by a group of soldiers in Scarlet Armor. 

“If you’re trying to scare me, it's not-” Riku was cut off when one of the knights swung a sword in his direction. The boy just stood still thinking that the sword would pass right through him, that is until his instincts kicked in. “ Crap!” He thought as he quickly used his Dark Roll to avoid the sword. Riku reformed and narrowed his eyes. He saw the Knight’s sword hit the ground and to his shock it put a real crack in the ground. 

“ Ok illusions that do physical damage, that’s a New one.” Riku thought, getting back into his battle stance. The Scarlet Knights all rushed him and Riku put up a Dark Barrier around himself and as all the Knights struck the Barrier Riku smirked as he activated his ‘Counter Aura’ knocking all of the Knight back and causing them to disappear. The fog surrounding Riku began to fade and Volpina was nowhere to be seen. Riku didn't let his guard down though, he could still sense Volpina and she was planning something. 

"Come out and fight Fox Girl or are you too scared to show your face?" Riku Taunted. Volpina suddenly reappeared in front of Riku and kicked him in the chest knocking him onto his back. 

“The name’s Volpina, not that you’ll live long enough to-AUG!” Volpina was cut off by a slash to the chest. “You really shouldn’t gloat until you’re certain your opponent is down.” Riku said as he was now behind Volpina. Said Fox looked behind her with a look of shock on her face. 

“ I didn’t even see him move. How did he do that?” She asked herself. Riku then turned around to face her and pointed his Keyblade to her. 

“I’m giving you one last chance...Volpina was it? Give up or I'm putting you down!” Riku threatened with a glare. Volpina growled and leapt toward the young hero with her Flute in hand and attempted to strike him. Riku quickly raised his Keyblade to block the attack but as he did Volpina disappeared once again and reappeared behind him. 

“Got ya!” She said before Knocking him in the head with her flute. Riku grunted in pain and jumped backwards to gain some distance for the girl. “ Ahh that’s smart, She’s better than i gave her credit for.” Riku thought, rubbing his head. 

“Maybe it’s you who should give up, that overconfidence of yours has gotten the better of you twice.” She said with a smirk. As much as he hated to admit it, she was right. 

“You’re right, I need to start thinking before I attack or speak. Thanks for telling me, now let’s see if you can handle this!” Riku raised his Keyblade into the air and began to levitate. Volpina’s eyes slightly widened at this but kept her guard up. 

“DARK SPLICER!” Riku shouted as he dashed toward Volpina with great speed. Volpina wanted to jump out of the way, but Riku was too fast for her. His first slash stopped her from moving completely and once that was accomplished the boy continued to attack the girl with slashes so fast they could barely be seen. Riku then appeared behind Lila and he lowered his blade. “You’re done.” He said in a low tone. Just then, multiple cuts appeared on Volpina’s body and she cried out in pain. 

“AHHHHHHH” She screamed falling to her knees. 

“I warned you.” he said, turning to her. Volpina began breathing heavily and she glared at the boy. 

“I’m not gonna lose to some random nobody!” Volpina said getting back on her feet and he cuts in her suit began to repair themselves. 

“You really are a stubborn one Fox Girl.” Riku said, shaking his head. Volpina was about to use her flute once again only to be by a red butterfly symbol appear over her face. 

“ What’s with that symbol?” Riku asked himself.

“Volpina! I’m going to need your expertise soon, meet me at the Eiffel Tower at once!”

Volpina balled her hand into a fist and Riku noticed this. “I can’t leave now, i’m dealing with-”

“Do you want Ladybug to fail or not? If so, then get here NOW!”

The butterfly Symbol disappeared from her face and she grit her teeth. 

“Something wrong Fox Girl?” Riku asked, still in his battle stance. Volpina really wanted to settle this, but she wanted Ladybug to suffer more. 

“I’ll deal with you another time.” She said as she raised her flute in the air and created a blinding flash of light. Riku shielded himself from the light and Volpina quickly jumped off the building and headed for the Eiffel Tower. As the light died down, Riku opened his eyes and saw that the girl was gone. 

“Gone for real this time.” He said dismissing his Keyblade. “She was definitely talking to someone when that Symbol appeared over her face, I wonder who.” Riku said, putting a hand on his chin. 

“I should track her down before she- whoa.” Riku looked over to another roof top and saw a blonde boy in a skintight cat costume alongside a blonde girl in a skintight bee costume. “What’s with everyone and costumes in this world? They must have some connection to Volpina.” With that Riku ran or rather jumped after the two costumed heroes. 

With Scarlet Moth

“Everything is going according to plan.” Scarlet Moth said with a smile. A strange symbol then appeared over Scarlet Moth’s face.

“With this massive of an army and your back up just in case, victory is assured.” 

“And it’s all thanks to you Catalyst, soon Ladybug and Cat Noir’s Miraculouses will be mine!” He said with certainty. 

“Scarlet Moth!” The older man turned to see Volpina and his eyes widened. 

“What happened to you?” He asked, seeing that Volpina was a bit worse for wear. 

“Before you called me away, there was this boy with silver hair. He saw me creating that illusion of Ladybug killing Chat Noir and he confronted me.” Volpina explained. 

“That doesn't sound like too big a problem.” Scarlet Moth said, narrowing his eyes at the girl. 

“You don’t understand, this boy has powers I've never seen before. When I was re-akumatized, he summoned a strange looking sword out of thin air and as we were fighting he struck me with lightning, created a powerful aura to destroy my illusions and he stopped my movements all together while slashing me with his sword.” Volpina explained gritting his teeth. This caught Scarlet Moths’s interest, this boy sounded quite powerful. 

“Was he a Miraculous holder?” He asked. Volpina shook her head. 

“No, I think the power was his own.” She said. Scarlet Moth put a hand to his chin. “ This boy may be a problem, but if I can akumatized him along with the other heroes it won’t make a difference.” He then turned back to Volpina. 

“Thank you for the information Volpina, I will make sure whoever this boy is he’ll pay for what he’s done. Now, I need you just in case things go south.” Scarlet Moth said with a wicked smile on his face. 

With Riku

Riku followed the Cat and the Bee from a safe distance and saw them land on a rooftop with three more costumed people, a guy and two girls. "There are three more now." He said to himself while looking over the other three. One of them looked to be a turtle, the first girl looked very similar to the Ladybug illusion he saw earlier, only this one had a red suit with black spots and the second girl…

"Volpina!" He said summoning his Keyblade but before he leapt over to them he stopped himself and looked over the Fox Girl again. "Wait, that's not Volpina.” He said dismissing his blade. This Fox Girl’s suit was a darker shade of orange than Volpina’s original costume, not only that she had long wild red hair with white tips in a ponytail and she also lacked the sash around her waist that Volpina had. 

“Ok so I’m guessing there are two Fox Girls then.” Riku then looked over to the Eiffel Tower to see the whole army of Scarlet Akumas. “What is with all these monsters?” He wondered. Just then Scarlet Moth stepped forward on top of the tower and spoke to a Camera drone. 

“Ladybug, Chat Noir behold my powerful army and have no doubt that today belongs to Scarlet Moth!” He declared. Riku just rolled his eyes. 

“Typical Villains thinking they won before the battle even begins.” He said before Scarlet Moth started speaking again. 

“I can feel you both are close by, if you want to save Paris and all its people I’m giving you this one last chance. Give yourselves up and bring me your Miraculous!” He demanded. 

“He seems Pretty Confident about this attack.” Riku said narrowing his eyes. 

“HAWKMOTH! Riku looked back at 5 heroes and saw who he guessed was Ladybug standing tall on top of the building where they were hiding. “I hope you enjoyed Volpina’s Illusion because the real Ladybug will never give you her Miraculous!” She declared. The Cat then jumped up next to her. 

“We’ve got a better idea though, you’re going to give us your Miraculous!” He said with a confident smile. The Turtle and the other Fox Girl showed up next. 

“You may have an army of Akumatized Warriors-” “But We’re a whole team of Super Heroes!” They said finishing each other's sentences. Finally the Bee jumped up to finish their speech. 

“You’re going to wish you never wore that Utterly ridiculous Costume!” She said as she and the other heroes pulled out their weapons. Riku smiled at their declaration. 

“They seem pretty devoted to protecting this city and I can sense a strong light inside each of them.” He then looked at the Bee.

“Although the Bee seems to be closer to her darkness than her light, Hopefully she won’t let it overtake her one day.” Riku said with a worried look on his face.

He began remembering his days as Maleficent and Ansem’s pawn and vessel. He had done so many horrible things to not only innocent people but he also hurt his best friends. Sure he’s come to terms with this during the Mark of Mastery Exam, but that didn’t ease the guilt. Sora and Kairi had told him a million times that they have forgiven him, but he still feels responsible. Riku sighed and looked back to see that everyone had already started fighting. What Riku was seeing was actually amazing, Ladybug’s team seemed pretty in sync. Taking on every Akumatized person and returning them to their human forms. 

"Looks like I'm not needed here." Riku said with a small smile. He then looked back to Hawkmoth who was still looking very confident and Riku didn't like that. 

"Ok, maybe I am. Why is he smiling, his army is dwindling by the-" Riku stopped talking as his eyes caught sight of a boy with wings and a bow and arrows strapped to him looking over the battle with a sinister smile on his face. 

"Oh no." Riku whispered. The boy then aimed an arrow at the Turtle while he was dealing with a large robotic man. Riku’s eyes widened as she watched the boy shoot the arrow. 

“CARAPACE LOOK OUT!” Riku saw the other Fox girl running over to him and at the last second she jumped in on him taking the arrow to the back. 

“Rena!” The Turtle said, holding the Fox in his arms. 

“This doesn’t look good.” Riku said, gritting his teeth. 

“Rena Rouge, don't let negative emotions take you or else you'll get Akumatized!" Ladybug said in a panicked tone. Riku hoped Ladybugs words would get through to the Fox Girl now known as Rena Rouge, unfortunately those hopes dashed as Rena threw the Turtle on the ground allowed a Butterfly to embed itself in her necklace. Rena's suit was now pure Scarlet and she grinned evilly. 

"I am now Rena Rage!" She said. 

"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Carapace cried out as he felt himself overcome with grief and guilt. Just then another butterfly flew over to the fallen hero and embedded itself into his bracelet. 

"Carapace No!" Chat Noir yelled with wide eyes. Carapace slowly stood up as his costume turned scarlet as well. 

"There is no more Carapace, only SHELL SHOCK!" Carapace yelled as he threw his shield at Chat Noir. 

"Look out!" The bee said as she tossed her spinning top at the shield deflecting it before it could hit Chat. 

"Thanks Chloe!" Chat said before kicking Riposte away from him. 

"That's Queen Bee you Alley Cat!" The Bee said in annoyance. Riku really didn't like where this was going. Two members of their team had been lost and it seemed that things couldn’t get... 

"Chloe!!" 

Worse.

Queen Bee turned to Malediktator and Style Queen standing behind her with scowls on their faces. 

"Mommy! Daddy!" Bee said is shock. Malediktator then put two fingers in front of his lips. 

"By the power vested in me, Stop playing Superheroes!" He commanded before sending a small yellow ball of light towards Bee. Bee quickly deflected the ball and charged toward Style Queen not knowing that Despair Bare was waiting for a chance to strike. 

“You may be my parents, but that doesn’t mean I’ll hold-” Just then Despair Bear jumped out of his hiding place and grabbed onto Queen Bee’s Leg. 

“STOP!” He yelled, forcing Bee’s body to stop dead in its tracks. Once that was accomplished, an arrow struck her in the chest and another butterfly embedded itself in her hairpin. Just like the other two, Bee’s outfit became pure scarlet and a twisted smile appeared on her face. 

“Queen Bee!” Chat yelled in a worried tone. Bee turned to Chat and threw her spinning top at him.

“That’s Queen Wasp to you!” She said. Chat quickly dodged the top and ran towards Ladybug. 

“Milady, I think we might have miscalculated.” He said in a slightly scared tone. 

“I think you might be right and my Luck Charm is useless without everyone else.” Ladybug said as she saw that she and her partner were now surrounded by friend and foe alike. Hawkmoth smiled as his victory had finally come. 

“Checkmate Ladybug!” He said in a smug tone. Ladybug and Chat were now back to back as the Army of Amumas neared them both. 

“What do we do!?” Chat asked. Ladybug looked all around for a solution, but she couldn’t. 

“I...I don’t know.” She said looking down. The Scarlet army neared the two heroes and several of them charged towards them. Chat and Ladybug braced themselves and shut their eyes. 

They both waited to feel some sort of pain, but it never came. Ladybug slowly opened her eyes and saw that someone in front of her was holding up their right hand. A boy from the looks of it with short silver hair wearing a sleeveless, black, double-zippered shirt, over it was a white vest with yellow at the bottom and a blue stripe separating the two other colors. He Also had blue baggy pants that were held up by a black and silver belt and His white shoes are gray on the bottom and top, with three black stripes on each side and yellow laces. 

“Don’t lose heart.” He said in a soft tone. Chat opened his eyes as well and stared at the boy. 

“Hey, what are you doing here? You need to get out of here!” He said worried for the boy's safety. 

“He’s right it’s dangerous here, you need to go home.” Ladybug said agreeing with Chat. The boy turned his head to the duo to show them his cyan eyes and he smirked. 

“Really because it looked like you both were the ones in danger. Also is that the thanks I get for saving you for the moment.” He said in a smart tone. The heroes wondered what he was talking about, but quickly realized something. 

“Wait why aren’t-” Before Ladybug finished her sentence she looked around to see that she and Chat were being protected by what looked like a small barrier. 

“What… How?” She asked, watching as the Scarlet Army tried to penetrate the barrier. “I’m not sure, Milady.” Chat said Also in confusion. 

“No time for you both to get distracted, I can’t hold them back for long. Do you have a plan to stop this?” The boy asked. The Heroes looked back at the new boy. 

“No. We did, but our team was akumatized before we could attempt it.” Ladybug explained. 

“I see, well I think for now we should make a tactical retreat.” Riku suggested. 

“He’s right Ladybug, we’re in quite the cataclysmic situation.” Chat said. Ladybug's face then lit up as an idea popped into her head. 

“Cataclysm that’s it! Chat Noir aims for the ground.” She then turned to the new boy. 

“We need you to drop this barrier so we can-” “Understood, Let’s go!” The boy said lowering his hand, causing the barrier to drop. 

“NOW CHAT!” Ladybug yelled.

“CATACLYSM!” Chat yelled as an orb of destructive energy appeared in his hand and he brought it down onto the ground. Just then the ground began to crack and a huge hole appeared beneath the trio and they fell through. Scarlet Moth watched all of this and he was seething. 

“So that’s the boy Volpina told me about. Go forth my Army and capture all three of them at once!” He commanded. One by one the Army jumped down the hole and followed the trio of heroes. 

With Riku, Ladybug and Chat

The trio ran through the sewers to gain a good distance away for the scarlet Army. 

“We should be safe for the moment.” Ladybug said as they all slowed down a bit. Just then both Ladybug’s and Chat’s Miraculouses began beeping. 

“We’re about to transform back.” Ladybug said. She looked ahead and saw a split path ahead. 

“I go left, Chat go right.” She said running ahead. Chat nodded and went to the right side. 

“You just wait in front of us and don’t look.” Ladybug said to Riku. Riku raised an eyebrow at this, but shrugged his arms and ran past Ladybug and stood in the middle of the pathway up front. The Two heroes transformed back into Marinette and Adrien. 

“Eat up Plagg, you’re going to need all your strength.” Adrien said, pulling out a small piece of camembert. 

“We’ll share it, you need your strength too.” Plagg said, splitting the cheese in half. 

“Thank pal.” Adrien said, taking the cheese. He then turned to the direction of the new boy. 

“Hey thanks for the save, we owe you one man.” He said with a smile. 

“It’s no problem.”Riku said leaning against the sewer wall. 

“I’d like to thank you too. Who are you anyway, we’ve never seen you before and you don’t seem to be a miraculous holder.” Marinette said wanting a few answers. 

“I’m Riku, I’m a Keyblade Wielder.” Riku explained. Tikki and Plagg both gasped and floated over to the boy not caring about him seeing them. 

“You’re a Keyblade wielder!?” A small red creature asked him. 

“I thought there weren’t any left after that war.” A small black creature said. “Plagg get back here, you can’t let him see you!” Adrien said in a panicked tone. 

“Tikki, what are you doing?” Marinette said also worried. Both Kwamii’s ignored their owners and stayed with the boy. 

“Please, show us your Keyblade.” Tikki asked politely. 

“We need to make sure you’re legit.” Plagg said. Marinette and Adrien wanted to know what this was all about, so they both walked forward enough to see the boy and their respective Kwamiis and not each other. Riku looked at the two creatures and saw they both had hopeful looks on their faces. The boy nodded and raised his right arm. After a few seconds, his Way to the Dawn appeared in his hand and everyone had shocked looks on their faces. 

“It’s true, you are a Keyblade Wielder!” Tikki Cheered. 

“This one looks really unique, I’m loving the whole demonic angel look.” Plagg said, admiring the blade. 

“Uh, thanks.” Riku said. Marinette and Adrien were still very confused at what they were seeing. 

“Um excuse me, what’s going on here? Where did that sword come from?” Marinette asked. 

“Calm down Ladybug, It’s ok. He’s on our side!” Tikki said with a smile. 

“How do you know that?” Adrien asked. 

“Just trust us kid, He’s going to be a big help.” Plagg said, smiling. 

“Marinette and Adrien looked at their respective Kwamis and they nodded. Riku then spoke up. 

“Look I don’t have much time to explain but, I’m here to help.” He said hoping that they will trust him. 

“Well alright, if Tikki’s ok with you then I don’t see why we shouldn’t trust you for now. I’m Ladybug and this is my Kwamii Tikki.” Marinette said, introducing herself and gesturing to the red creature. 

“I’m Chat Noir and this is Plagg!” Adrien said with a smile on his face and gesturing to the black creature. Riku smiled. 

“As I said I’m Riku, nice to meet you both. Even though I can’t see you both yet.” Riku said with a chuckle.

“Sorry, we're not allowed to know each other's identities.” Marinette explained. Riku raised an eyebrow at this. 

“Why, aren't you both a team. Shouldn't knowing your identities bring you both closer as one?" Riku asked in confusion. 

"That's what I told her, but the Master of the Miraculous told us it was forbidden." Adrien said looking down. 

"Chat he's just protecting us." Marinette said. Riku still didn't get it, but decided not to push the subject. "So what do we do now?" Riku asked. 

"I'm not sure, Hawkmoth has never Re-Akumatized this many people before." Marinette said, looking down. 

"Maybe he figured out how to boost his power just like us." Adrien said, putting a hand on his chin. Riku could hear the fear in their voices and dismissed his Keyblade.

"Didn't I tell you both not to lose heart? You need to stay strong not just for yourselves, but for the people of the city as well. They're all counting on you, they believe with all their hearts that you will win the day. That belief will give you both the strength to carry on and beat Hawkmoth." He said, placing a hand over his heart. Marinette and Adrien were once again wide eyed, Riku's words seemed to have touched both of their hearts and they both started to feel better. 

“He’s right milady, We’ve been in tough spots before and we’ve always come out on top before and this isn’t gonna be any different.” Adrien said with a confident smile. Marinette took a deep breath and smiled as well. 

“You’re right, you and me against the world Kitty!” Marinette said in a confident tone. Riku also smiled. 

“That’s the spirit! Let’s go and show Hawkmoth what we can do.” He said. Marinette and Adrien nodded. 

“You’re very wise for someone so young.” Tikki said smiling at the silver haired boy. 

“Wiser than my kid I’ll say.” Plagg said with a smirk. 

“Hey!” Adrien said slightly offended. Marinette and Tikki  giggled while Riku chuckled. Just then the trio heard footsteps heading their way. 

“We have to move!” Riku said. “Let’s all take a dip then.” Adrien said with a nod. 

“Riku can you-” “No peeking promise.” Riku said cutting Marinette off. The trio then ran forward with their eyes shut and jumped into the deeper part of the sewer. 

TIKKI POWER UP!

PLAGG POWER UP!

As the trio dived into the sewer waters below, MArinette and Adrien both transformed into their Aqua Forms while Riku just covered himself in a blue aura and began swimming away from the Scarlet Army. 

"You guys know your way through here right?" Riku asked. 

"Yes we just need to cut through this tunnel and- Syren!" Ladybug said suddenly. Riku and Chat looked forward to seeing the mermaid akuma in front of them. 

"About face!" Chat ordered. "Too late." Riku said, summoning his Keyblade. Chat and Ladybug turned to see Animan behind them. "How do we deal with them?" Riku asked. 

"You need to break the akumatized object, that will release the akuma from within it and return them to normal." Ladybug explained. 

"Alright you both handle the mermaid I'll take the shark! Riku said before swimming toward Animan. 

"Sliding Dash!" Riku said as he swiftly charged Animan, knocking him into the tunnel wall. Riku then saw a small badge on Aminan's back. 

"That must be what Ladybug was talking about." Riku said before taking the badge and crushing it in his hand releasing a small red butterfly. Just then Ladybug threw her yo-yo at the butterfly capturing it. Soon after both Syren and Animan turned back to normal and Chat and Ladybug gave them both rebreathers. 

"Come on, let's get them back to the surface." Ladybug said. Both boys nodded and followed Ladybug while holding onto both civilians. It took a few minutes, but the trio along with the two civilians made it out of the sewer. 

"Finally, I'm gonna have to take a long shower after this one." Chat said. 

"You're not the only one." Ladybug said before turning to the civilians. 

"You both need to get out of here before Hawkmoth gets you both again." She said. The civilians nodded and quickly ran away. 

"So I guess we go after Hawkmoth now?" Riku asked. 

"Yes, De-Akumatizing the people one by one will get us nowhere, he's the source and we need to take him down." Ladybug said. 

"Then let's get to work Milady, we got this!" Chat said in an excited tone. Riku was about to speak up before he saw multiple ice shards coming towards them. 

“Look out!" He yelled, pushing Ladybug out of the way and raised his Keyblade in the air. "Dark Firaga!" He said as he fired a flaming dark orb at the incoming Ice Shards causing them all to melt before getting to their targets. The Dark orb then split into six and were homing in on the enemy known as Frozer who attacked them. 

"Wait what!?" Frozer said as he was struck by all six flames. Lucky for the heroes one of the orbs hit Frozers skates and released his Akuma. Ladybug quickly captured the akuma while Chat caught Frozer. Once that was accomplished, Chat and Ladybug looked at Riku. 

"You can control fire too, Awesome!" Chat said praising the boy. 

"That really was impressive, you certainly can do more than me and Chat." Ladybug said. 

"Very impressive indeed." The trio turned to the Eiffel Tower where Scarlet Moth was still standing. 

"You don’t wear a mask, so you’re really not a Miraculous holder. How is it that you got this power boy?” He asked in a calm tone. Riku just glared at the man. 

“Wouldn’t you like to know.” He said getting into his battle stance. Scarlet Moth studied the boy for a few seconds. 

“No matter, you’ll fall alongside Ladybug and Chat Noir.” He said with a confident smile but it quickly dropped when he saw Riku smiling as well. 

“If you really think I’m going to lose to a second- no, a third rate bad guy like you then you’re more foolish than I thought.” He said. Both Ladybug and Chat’s eyes widened once again and Scarlet Moth narrowed his eyes at Riku. 

“You’re just as irritating as those two heroes.” He said with a growl. Riku didn’t respond back, instead he slowly moved his keyblade to the back as some petals out of nowhere. 

“Zantetsuken!” He said as he took a simple step and vanished into thin air. The two heroes and Scarlet Moth all widened their eyes wondering where Riku had…

“ARGH!!” Scarlet Moth yelled out in pain as a huge slash mark could now be seen on his chest. Chat and Ladybug’s eyes continued to widen as they saw Scarlet Moth fall to the ground and they also saw Riku behind the villain with his Keyblade stretched out. 

“No way!” Chat whispered. 

“So fast!” Ladybug also whispered. Riku then turned around and looked down at the wounded Super Villain. 

“Sorry, but I’m not going to waste time talking to you. I can stop you right here and-” Riku sensed something and put his Keyblade behind his back blocking Shell Shock’s Shield. Riku turned to see Shell Shock, Rena Rage and Queen Wasp behind him. 

“You won’t hurt the boss again dude.” Shell Shock said before catching his shield. Riku got back into his battle stance. 

“Fine I’ll take you three on! Circle Raid!” He said throwing his blade behind him and once he did that his blad circle past him struck all three heroes off the Eiffel Tower. Riku jumped off the tower too and looked back to Ladybug and Chat Noir. 

“I’ll leave Hawk Moth to you two, I’ll take care of your friends until you can save them.” He said. Ladybug and Chat nodded. 

“Don’t hurt them too badly, they’re still our friends.” Ladybug said as she and Chat went after Scarlet Moth. Riku nodded and prepared to fight the three former heroes. 

Objective: Defeat Rena Rage, Shell Shock and Queen Wasp!

Riku rushed toward Queen Wasp first and struck her with three quick slashes and kicked her back a few feet. 

“How dare you!” She said before charging Riku and throwing her top at him! Shell Shock charged the boy as well and tossed his shield at him. Riku quickly put up his Dark Barrier and reflected both the shield and top and once Wasp and Shell were close enough he activated his Counter Aura to push them both away. Riku let down the barrier, but as he did Rena appeared behind and attempted to strike him. Riku simply put his Keyblade behind his back to stop her attack. 

“I know you’re not Volpina, but you sure fight like her. Bind!” He said as a small yellow ring appeared around Rena holding her in mid air. 

“Let me go!” Rena demanded. “As you wish.” Riku then pointed his Keyblade at Rena and smiled. 

“Collision Magnet!” Riku said as a Beam of light struck Rena covering her in a white aura. Riku then began spinning his Keyblade causing Rena the spin as well when he had enough force he tossed the Fox hero into Queen Wasp knocking them both to the ground. 

“Hope they can forgive me after this.” Riku said feeling bad. 

“Not Cool Dude!” Riku turned to see Shell Shock running towards him. 

“Dark Firaga!” He said launching six dark fireballs at Shell Shock. 

“Shelter!” Shell said holding up his shield and creating a scarlet barrier in front of himself. The fireballs all bounced off the Shield and Shell shock got close enough to Riku to finally land a strike. 

“Got you!” He said as he attempted to hit Riku with his shield. Just before Shell’s shield connected with him, Riku vanished and reappeared behind him as his Keyblade was now covered with Dark Energy. Shell Shock didn’t have time to react as Riku began striking him. 

“Shadow Strike!” Riku said before delivering four quick but powerful slashes to Shell Shock’s chest and back. Shell Shock fell to the ground holding his chest in pain. 

“Sorry man, nothing personal.” Riku said with a sigh. Riku looked around and saw all three heroes were down and decided to go help Chat Noir and Ladybug. As he started walking, he felt the large amount of negative energy covering the city suddenly disappear and he turned back to the three heroes who were now turning back to their original forms. 

“Hey are you three ok?” He said running over to Carapace first. 

“Ugh, oh man I feel like I got by truck.” Carapace said, holding his head. 

“I bet you do.” Riku said before looking over to the two girl heroes. “How are you two holding up?” He asked. 

“Why do I feel so dizzy?” Rena asked, shaking her head. 

“Where are Ladybug and Chat Noir?” Bee asked standing up. “ And who are you supposed to be?” She said pointing to Riku. 

“I’m Riku, I’ve been helping your Hero duo out since you all got… what's the word...Akumatized?” Riku asked, putting a hand on his chin. 

“We were Akumatized?” Rena asked in a shocked tone. Riku nodded and the three heroes felt so much shame. Riku saw this and sighed. “Look I know you all feel bad, but this is no time for you all to start feeling bad for yourselves. Ladybug and Chat Noir need our help right now, we can stop Hawkmoth for good.” He said before turning around and jumping onto the Eiffel Tower. The three heroes all looked at one another and nodded. 

“Let’s rock Ladies!” Carapace said running ahead. 

“I’m right behind you!” Rena said running after her partner. 

“Like I’m going to let you two have all the glory!” Bee said, running after the pair.

With Ladybug and Chat Noir…

Paris’s superhero duo had finally destroyed Hawkmoth’s can freeing the city from his influence. “It’s over Hawkmoth!” Ladybug said spinning her Yo-Yo. 

“Not as long as I’m standing Ladybug, it’s to show you kids what a man with nothing to lose can do!” Hawkmoth said as he and the two heroes charged each other. Unfortunately for the heroes, Hawkmoth is not just more experienced, but he also had them beat in physical strength. 

“If you both think that you can truly defeat me-” Hawkmoth then punched Chat in the gut knocking him onto the ground. “You both are truly out of your depth!” He said as he grabbed Ladybug’s arms and brutally tossed her onto the ground next to Chat Noir. 

“You are such weak young SuperHeroes, so inexperienced. Not only that, you both can’t even stay transformed after using your powers! You both are nothing more than children, but don’t  think that will stop me from destroying y-AUG!” Hawkmoth screamed out in pain as he was struck by a ball of lightning. 

“Wow that ‘Thundaga Shot’ of yours is very powerful.” Chat and Ladybug looked up to see Riku as well as their friends standing above them. 

“Need a hand you two?” Rena asked with a smile. Chat and Ladybug smiled back and looked at Riku. 

“Thank you Riku!” Ladybug said before throwing her Yo-Yo and creating a cage so Hawkmoth couldn’t escape. 

“As I told you, it’s over Hawkmoth!” She with a victorious smile. Riku and the other heroes jumped next to Chat and Ladybug. 

“Let’s end this!” Riku said, pointing his Keyblade at Hawkmoth. 

“Venom!” Bee said as a bee stinger appeared around her hand.

“I’ll Paralysis him and you can take him down Ladybug!” She said. All of the heroes began nearing Hawkmoth and he began backing away in slight fear. Just then a light blue symbol appeared over Hawmoth’s face. Riku saw this and thought back to when Volpina had a butterfly symbol over her face. 

“ Who’s he talking to ?” Riku thought

“Hawkmoth, I am Myura! Your worst fear has come to pass and your heart is being overtaken by despair. Allow me to help you.” 

“No, don't do that! You know what it will do to you!” Hawkmoth said in a worried tone. All the heroes looked at him with wide eyes. 

“What are you talking about, who are you taking to Hawkmoth?” Riku asked, stepping forward. Hawkmoth ignored the boy.

“Let your despair be embodied as a powerful protection!”

The Symbol disappeared and Hawkmoth fell to his knees. 

“Hey are you-” Before Riku could finish,  A huge moth looking creature appeared in front of them. It had largely sized dark purple wings with black and a white dot spots with gray edges at the end. It also has a magenta head with teal eyes with large dark yellowish-green antennas with the body having purple fur with black stripes with some yellowish-green spikes with each side of its body and large dark purple arms with the tail being violet. 

“What is that thing!?” Bee Shouted taking a step back. Before she could get an answer, the monster began flapping his wings creating huge gusts of winds and causing all of the heroes to be pushed back  effortlessly. Riku quickly embedded his Keyblade into the tower to stop himself. 

“That thing is no Heartless and it’s not a Nobody either. Whatever it is we go to-” Before RIku could finish his sentence, the monster vanished without a trace and the wind stopped. Riku lifted his Keyblade back up and  ran over to the spot Hawkmoth was at and picked up his broken cane. 

“I can probably track him with-” The can then disappeared from his hand. 

“Well there goes that plan.” Riku said before dismissing his Keyblade. The Heroes all walked over to him and he turned to them. 

“He got away, sorry.” He said. Ladybug shook her head and smiled at the boy. 

“It’s fine, what matters is that Pari is safe and we couldn’t have done it without you.” She said. 

“She’s right man you were awesome, you’ve got moves I’ve never seen before!” Chat said, smiling at Riku. Riku smiled back at them and nodded. 

“It was my pleasure, I was sent here to help you both anyway.” He said. 

“I’d like to ask you about that, who sent you-” Just then The heroes Miraculouses began beeping. “And I'll get those answers next time we get together.” 

MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!

Ladybug threw her lucky charm into the air and millions of magical ladybugs flew across the city repairing all of the damage done by the Scarlet Army. 

“Riku, We hope to see you again soon.” Ladybug said as she, Rena and Carapace ran off. 

“Come on Queenie, let’s head out. It was great working with you Riku.” Chat said as he and Bee ran off in the opposite direction. Riku watched as the heroes left nodded. 

“Well I guess that’s that for now.” Riku began walking down the tower and as he did he caught a glimpse of a familiar brunette running away from the tower. 

“So she was here and now she’s running like a coward.” Riku said, shaking his head. 

“ Hope that girl learns her lesson soon because if she doesn’t she and I are going to have a problem.”

Chapter Text

The next day, Location: Gummi Ship

Riku slowly opened up his eyes and got up from the Gummi ship's bed. 

“Aw man, still got a headache.” The silver haired boy said as he stretched his arms. 

“I didn’t expect my first day here to be so eventful, but I did find out a few things.” Riku then walked over to the ship's cockpit and began pressing a few buttons and brought up a few video clips the Villain known as Prime Queen made during Heroes Day. He then played one of the videos and sat in one of the ship’s seats.

Riku just rolled her eyes and went to the next video.

There seems to be a new Hero in Paris! He’s put up some sort of purple barrier to protect LadyBug and Chat Noir! He’s ruining Scarlet Moth’s Victory!

Riku smirked as he saw himself, Ladybug and Chat talking inside of his Dark Barrier before they all escaped underground. 

“That was quick thinking on Ladybug’s part, from what I saw yesterday she’s the leader of the Heroes in Paris and Chat Noir seems to be her main partner.” Riku thought aloud. He then brought up a few Clips of the other Heroes: Carapace, Rena Rouge and Queen Bee. Rena Rouge and Carapace seemed like competent Heroes in their own right, but Queen Bee...she seemed like a show off.

Riku cringed at the blonde’s declaration, Ladybug said something about secret identities back in the sewers and this girl just threw the rule out the window. 

“She seems more interested in showing off than saving the city, a bit self centered as well .” Riku said, remembering how the girl seemed more connected to her Darkness than her Light. “If she’s not careful, she could end up falling to her Darkness. I’ll have to keep an eye on this Chloe girl.” Riku then clicked on a video that came from a popular blog known as ‘The Ladyblog’. 

Hey what’s going on Lady Bloggers, My name is Alya Ceseaire and welcome to Akuma 101! As you know Paris has been threatened by the evil Hawkmoth and his villainous Akuma. Akuma are super powered people who do Hawkmoth’s bidding without real question. The kicker is that these Super Villains are just normal people consumed by negative emotions and Hawkmoth uses that Negativity to transform them into his servants!

Riku paused the video and glared at the screen. “Taking advantage of a person’s negativity and turning them into Monsters. The concept is similar to creating Heartless, but instead of Heartless the victim gets SuperPowers and a slightly evil streak. Riku continued to look through the LadyBlog and saw a few of the Akumatized Victims and honestly… he thought most looked ridiculous. “The Bubbler, Horrificator, Gigantitan, Glaciator… ok these names are just silly.” He commented. 

“Silly or not, they are a threat and I have to keep them and Hawkmoth at bay.” Riku shut down the Monitor and stood up. “I may know a bit more than I did before, but I have to know the whole story. Master Yen-Sid said I had to find Master Fu, I should probably get started on that.” Riku then opened the ship’s doors and walked out. The bright rays of the sun Blinded him for a few seconds before his eyes adjusted and he took a deep Breath and jumped off the roof where the Gummi ship was parked. Once he landed on the ground he began walking through the city. 

“This might take a while, this city is huge.” Riku said, looking around at all the buildings and people. The silver-haired boy huffed in annoyance. “I wish Yen-Sid gave me a picture of the guy or something.” 

Location: Marinette’s Room

Marinette was sitting at her desk also going through her computer at the Videos from Yesterday! She then clicked on the Video of Riku fighting off Carapace, Rena Rouge and Queen Bee in their Akumatized forms. She watched as the silver-haired boy knocked Queen Bee away with little effort and threw Rena into her using what she thought was a whip made of light. 

“Wow, he’s really amazing! As expected of a Keyblade Wielder!” Tikki said, admiring Riku and his skill. Marinette looked at the red Kwami and raised an eyebrow to her. 

“Tikki, what exactly is a Keyblade Wielder and how come you’ve never mentioned them before?” She asked before looking back at the VIdeo. Tikki stayed silent as she watched Riku striking Carapace down with a few quick slashes. Marinette flinched a bit seeing her teammates getting beaten by this unknown boy, but he really didn’t have a choice considering the situation they were all in. 

“He is very skilled and his powers are like nothing I’ve ever seen before.” She said both impressed and slightly scared. Tikki continued to stay silent and this worried Marinette a bit. 

“Um Tikki, you still haven’t answered my Question. What is a Keyblade Wielder?” She asked again. Tikki finally came back to her senses and giggled. 

“Oh Sorry, I’m just so shocked that after so many years another Wielder has emerged.” Tikki said in an excited tone. Marinette was still confused, but she decided not to ruin the Kwami’s good mood. 

“You see, Keyblade Wielders are ancient warriors that once protected this world and the ones beyond them. Marinette’s eyes widened at what her Kwami said. 

“Wait, Worlds?” She asked.

Location: Agreste Mansion

“That’s right kid, I said ‘Worlds’.” Plagg said, taking a bit out of his camembert. Adrien had been asking the same questions to his Kwami, he wanted to know who or what a Keyblade wielder was. 

“You mean Riku is from another planet?” He asked. Plagg shook his head. 

“Nope.” The Kwami of Destruction said. 

“Then what do you mean, ‘protect the worlds’?” Adrien asked, confused. 

“Sorry Kid, I’m not allowed to tell you anything else.” Plagg said, finishing up his Cheese. Adrien stared at his Kwami with his mouth hanging open.

Location: Marinette’s Room

“What do you mean you can’t tell me!?” Marinette spazzed. 

“I’m sorry Marinette, it’s Taboo for me to even tell you this much. There are rules that Keyblade Wielders must follow and for those who know of them. Just like how we of the Miraculous must keep our secrets, he must keep his unless told to do so by someone with knowledge of what he knows.” Tikki explained. Marinette really couldn’t argue, as Tikki said she had to keep her secrets. 

“Alright I guess I understand, but I’m wondering what he meant by he came to help.” Marinette wondered putting a hand onto his chin. 

“Maybe he’s just here to help deal with Hawkmoth, it is a Keyblade wielder's job to protect others from the darkness and Hawkmoth is as dark as you can get in Paris.” Tikki said. Marinette thought back to what Riku said in the Sewer and the advice he gave her and Chat. 

" Didn't I tell you both not to lose heart? You need to stay strong not just for yourselves, but for the people of the city as well. They're all counting on you, they believe with all their hearts that you will win the day. That belief will give you both the strength to carry on and beat Hawkmoth ." His words echoed in her head for a few seconds before she took a deep breath and stood up from her desk. 

“Let’s go and get some answers!” She said looking at her Kwami with a smile. Tikki smiled and nodded.

Location: Agreste Mansion

Adrien thought about Plagg’s words and decided that it was time to talk to a certain silver-haired boy. 

“C’mon Plagg, let’s find Riku!” He said with a look of determination in his eyes. 

“Oh no!” Plagg whined.

Riku was taking in all the sites as he walked through the city and he had to admit, this world was beautiful. 

“ This place might be tied with Radiant Garden for the most beautiful world .” He thought to himself. He then looked to his right and saw a large statue of Ladybug and Chat Noir in the middle of a park. “Wow, they even got a statue.” Riku said with a chuckle. 

“The people of this world must really love those two, I wonder how long they have been fighting Hawkmoth.” He said putting a hand on his chin. He then continued to walk and his thoughts shifted to the other reason he was here. “I’m actually shocked the Organization hasn't shown their faces yet, especially with all that happened yesterday. No Heartless, no Nobodies, nothing! No news is usually good news, but when it comes to them silence is just as bad.” He said, narrowing his eyes. 

“I should pick up the pace and find Master Fu. I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this. Only question now though is where do I go and how do I find- Oh!” Riku stopped himself as he saw Ladybug in the distance swinging from building to building with her Yo-Yo. “Talk about lucky.” Riku said as he looked around to see if there were any people around. When he saw no one around, he used his doubleflight ability to jump onto the side of a building and followed it up by using his flowmotion to bounce from building to building to catch up with the Red Heroine. 

With Ladybug

Ladybug continued swinging from building to building while simultaneously looking around for Riku. 

“This could take a while, it’s like finding a needle in a haystack.” She said before landing on a random building. “If only we didn’t have to split up the other day, I could have asked him if he could talk to us.” She said, looking down and crossing her arms. 

“You’re looking troubled, M'lady?” Ladybug looked to her left and saw Chat jumping over to her. 

“Hey Chat, What are you doing here?” She asked as her partner landed in front of her. Chat put his hands behind his back and smiled. 

“Well, I was out and about, enjoying the nice day and then I remembered that I had a certain Keyblade Wielder to thank for saving us.” Chat explained. Ladybug caught on to what Chat wanted to do and smiled back. 

“What a coincidence, I’m looking for him too.” She said. 

“Ah so that’s why you looked so down, you couldn’t find him right?” Chat asked. Ladybug scratched the back of her head and chuckled. “Well don’t worry, with the two of us we can cover more ground.” Chat said, giving his partner a thumbs up. Ladybug nodded. 

“You’re right! Come on, let’s find him.” She said with determination in her voice. Chat nodded and with that the two were about to jump off the building only for a silver blur to fly past them. 

“What...what was that?” Chat asked. Ladybug was just as confused, but then the silver blur landed on the building across from them and both the heroes' eyes widened. 

“Hey there, nice to see you both again.” Both heroes kept staring as they saw Riku on the other building with a small smile on his face. “Your faces will freeze if they stay like that.” Riku said with a chuckle. Ladybug and Chat both quickly composed themselves and jumped over to Riku who kept his smile. 

“Riku.” Ladybug said, walking up to the silver-haired boy. 

“That’s my name.” Riku replied. Chat chuckled and extended his hand to the Keyblade Wielder. 

“Well it’s nice to formally meet you, sorry our introduction wasn’t the best yesterday.” He said with a friendly smile. Riku nodded and took Chat’s hand. 

“It’s no problem, we were in a bit of trouble so I understand.” He said as the two both boys ended their handshake. 

“Yes thank you, we both really appreciate it.” Ladybug also offered her hand to Riku. “I told you, it’s no problem. I was sent here to help and that’s what I plan to do.” Riku said, taking her hand. 

“Actually, we wanted to ask you about that before we had to split off the other day.” Ladybug said, ending the handshake. 

“Yeah sorry about that man, we couldn’t risk transforming in front of each other.” Chat explained. 

“You both did say something about keeping your identities a secret, so I’m not bothered.” Riku said in an understanding tone. Ladybug and Chat smiled at the boy's answer. 

“Great, now about those questions-” “Whoa there M'lady, this isn't the right place to have this conversation. Let’s take this to our usual spot, it’s much more comfortable up there.” Chat said, interrupting Ladybug and pointing to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Ladybug, while annoyed by her partner's interruption, nodded and looked back to Riku. 

“Care to join us at the top?” She asked. 

“Sure, Hope you both can keep up.” Riku said with a smirk before activating his Flowmotion and gliding to the Tower. 

“WOW! C’mon M’Lady, we can't let this newbie show us up.” Chat said before taking out his staff and taking to the skies with it. Ladybug watched the two boys racing to the tower and she couldn’t help but giggle. 

“Something tells me Paris is gonna get pretty eventful with this boy around,” She said as she took out her Yo-Yo and followed the two boys. As the trio arrived at the top of the Tower, they all sat on the edge of it and the long conversation began. 

“Ok so, Riku, tell us why you're here. Who sent you to help us?” Ladybug asked, getting straight to the point. 

“I was sent here by my Master, his name is Yen-Sid. He told me that this world was in danger of falling to a powerful Darkness and that I was to help protect the users of the Cat and Ladybug Miraculouses.” Riku explained. Ladybug took in his words and began to think. She did remember Tikki telling her that Keyblade Wielders were meant to save the world from Darkness. 

“Well I say you’re doing a great job so far, you really saved our butts yesterday.” Chat said with a smile. Riku chuckled and couldn't help but think of Sora and how much Chat acted like him. 

“So tell us, what’s this Darkness that threatens this world your Master mentioned? Was he talking about Hawkmoth?” Chat asked. 

“Yes and No. From what I understand, Hawkmoth is the reason there is so much Darkness here. But there are others that might take advantage of the darkness he’s bringing to Paris.” Riku explained, narrowing his eyes. Chat and Ladybug saw this and they both got a strange chill up their spines. 

“Like who?’ Ladybug asked. Riku sighed. 

“You see there is a group of people known as Organization XIII, they go around to different places sowing seeds of discord and Darkness so that they can plunge it into Darkness.” Riku explained not giving away too much information. He couldn’t break the world order unless it was absolutely necessary or at least until he found Master Fu. Chat and Ladybug’s eyes widened at this, now they had not only Hawkmoth and the owner of the Peacock Miraculous to deal with, now they had to worry about this Organization. 

“What do you mean plunge Paris into darkness?” Chat asked. 

“I mean as in they will destroy Paris without a second thought, and they’ll destroy anyone who gets in their way.” Riku explained as he balled his hand into a fist. Chat and Ladybug flinched at this. Sure Hawkmoth caused damage, but he never went as far as killing people that weren’t them. “That’s why I’m here, my Master thinks that they will target Paris next and take advantage of the Darkness surrounding it.” Riku explained. Ladybug and Chat took a few seconds to try and process what Riku had just told them and before the two heroes could speak up again…

“I believe you missed a few details, young man.” The three Heroes turned around and saw a short old man wearing a red and hawaiian shirt standing behind them with a smile on his face. 

“Master Fu!” Chat and Ladybug exclaimed. Riku’s eyes widened as he continued to stare at the old man. 

“Wait, you’re Master Fu?” Riku asked in shock. 

“That I am, Welcome to our world Riku.” He said with a small bow. Riku quickly stood up and returned the gesture. 

“Thank you Master.” He said. Ladybug and Chat both stood up as well and walked up to the Guardian of the Miraculous. 

“Master, what are you doing here? I thought you had to stay hidden.” Chat Asked in confusion. 

“It’s alright Chat Noir, This is a special occasion, it’s not everyday my old friend Yen-Sid sends a Keyblade Master to our World.” Fu said, still smiling. Ladybug and Chat looked at Riku with wide eyes. 

“MASTER!” They both yelled in a shocked tone. 

“It was a recent thing. So you do know about the other worlds?” Riku asked the old man. Fu nodded. 

“Yes and I believe that it’s time they did as well. I was listening to your explanation and you left out a lot of important information.” He said. Riku gave the man a sheepish look and the old man chuckled. “No need to feel bad, the World Order must be kept and these two are part of maintaining that Order.” Fu said as he pointed to Ladybug and Chat who were looking very confused. Riku nodded and looked at the two heroes. 

“Alright, this conversation is about to get pretty long. You both might wanna sit back down.” Riku warned the two. The two heroes looked at one another and sat back down and Riku and Fu sat with them. “Ok let’s start over, My name is Riku Kurayami and I come from a world Known as the Destiny Islands…” Riku then began to tell his whole story from when he left his island home to his most recent fight with the Organization during the Mark of Mastery. “You see me and my two best friends Riku and Kairi dreamed of seeing worlds beyond our own and we wanted to as soon as possible. So we built a raft to sail off and find others, we were kids back then so we didn’t know better at the time. Looking back on it now, it was silly to think a raft was going to get us to another world.” Riku said with a nostalgic smile on his face. Chat took this opportunity to ask the question his Kwami refused to answer. 

“Sorry to interrupt, but you keep saying ‘world’. What does that mean, are you from another planet or something?” He asked. Riku shook his head. 

“To answer that question, I have to tell you what Master Yen-Sid told me.” Ladybug and Chat waited eagerly for the explanation the Silver-boy was going to give. “You see, a long time ago in the age of Fairy Tales, the Worlds were one and the people of that world lived in peace. Back then people lived in the Light and everyone loved the Light. It was said that that very Light came from an unknown power by the name of Kingdom Hearts.” Riku began. Ladybug and Chat listen carefully, but hearing this made them think they were listening to an old storybook. 

“Kingdom Hearts?” Chat asked Curiously. 

“The Heart of all worlds, a source of infinite power and wisdom.” Riku explained. 

“Whoa!” Ladybug said in shock. 

“From Kingdom Hearts came the original world and from that world came the people and the people had hearts. As I said, the light of Kingdom Hearts was a gift, but over time the people wanted the Light for themselves and the first shadows were born in the hearts of the people.” Riku said, looking down. Ladybug and Chat took a moment to process that. 

“So it was the people's greed for the Light that created the Darkness….ain’t that ironic.” Chat said, shuddering a bit. 

“Yea, to think wanting Light could be that dangerous.” Ladybug said, trying to wrap her head around what she just heard. 

“Even the brightest Light’s have their Dark corners and even in the deepest Darkness there is the smallest spark of Light.” Riku said. 

“Very true, you’re very wise Riku.” Fu said with a nod. 

“Thank you. Anyway, with everyone wanting the Light for themselves, they began fighting for it and soon a war broke out.” Riku continued. 

“A...a...WAR!” Ladybug exclaimed in shock. Chat was actually speechless, he wasn’t expecting a topic such a ‘War’ to pop up. 

“Yes, we called this the Keyblade War. According to Master Yen-Sid, The war did a lot of Damage. Not just to the people, but to the original world itself. Because of how intense the war was, the original world as well as the people and Kingdom Hearts itself was submerged in Darkness.” Riku said. Chat and Ladybug remained silent, neither knew what to say to all of this. “But not all was lost.” The two heroes perked up a bit at Riku’s words. 

“You see, even though the Darkness swallowed everything, it couldn’t touch the light within every child’s heart. Because of those pure and innocent Lights, the worlds were remade as we know them today.” Riku said with a small smile. Chat and Ladybug sighed in relief at hearing that. Both of them were wondering if the world was destroyed, why were they still here. 

“The Worlds Got a Miracle!” Ladybug said in a cheerful tone. 

“You have no idea. There were survivors of the War though and instead of taking the light decided to protect it instead of taking it for themselves.” Riku explained. 

“That’s great!” Chat said in an excited tone. Riku smiled at the two heroes as it was time to drop one of the other big bombshells on them. 

“Ok so you both know about the past, but now let’s get a bit into the present and the state of the worlds today. Tell me guys, when you look up at the night sky, what do you see?” Riku said with a smirk. Fu knew where this was going and he could help but smirk as well. Ladybug and Chat looked confused at the Keyblade Masters Question. 

“Um...Stars?” Chat answered. Riku and Fu’s smirks got wider. Ladybug thought about why he would ask an easy question like this, wasn’t this about the state of the….WAIT! Ladybug’s eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets. She then looked to Riku and then pointed to the Sky. 

“No…” She said quietly. 

“Yes.” Riku said with a nod.

“No.”

“Yes.” 

“NO!” Ladybug screamed as she put both hands on her head. Chat flinched at his partner's scream and wondered what he was missing. 

“I’m so lost, what are we talking about now?” He asked, scratching his head. Ladybug then grabbed Chat by his bell and pulled him close. 

“Chat! He’s saying the stars in the sky ARE DIFFERENT WORLDS!” She yelled. Chat let that information sink in for a few seconds and his eyes got very wide. 

“I...but...I...WHAT!?” he exclaimed as Ladybug let go of his bell causing him to fall onto his back. Ladybug then stood up and began walking around in circles.

“Oh my gosh, OH MY GOSH! My Mind! MY MIND!” She spazzed still not over what she had been told. Chat was still on his back and was just staring at the sky. 

“There...are others…” Chat couldn’t finish his sentence as his shock was too great. Riku and Fu Looked at one another and chuckled. 

“I somehow knew this would be entertaining.” Fu said. 

“Same here, it’s always funny when you get to tell people about the other world when you actually can.” Riku said before turning back to the Two shocked Heroes. “That’s right, the stars in the sky are different worlds shining in the distance and this world is just part of one that’s much bigger.” He explained using the words Sora used to describe their island after their second adventure. Chat and Ladybug couldn’t believe what they were hearing, to think that there were so many worlds besides their own. 

“I don’t think my mind can take anymore, that was just too much of a Catastrophic bomb for me.” Chat punned still in shock. 

“Minus the pun, I agree with Chat.” Ladybug said, trying her best to calm down. 

“Oh we’re not even halfway done, there's plenty more.” Riku said. Ladybug and Chat groaned a bit. 

“Oh come on man, what more could you tell us?” Chat asked. Riku smirked. 

“Well…” Riku then began explaining about the different Realms the world inhabited. The Realm of Light where they lived, the Realm of Darkness where worlds that fall to Darkness go and the Realm of Sleep where worlds that are sleeping are waiting to be woken up. He then began explaining The Keyblade and their origin. He Summoned his Way to the Dawn and explained about what he could do with it such as opening any lock, strengthening physical abilities and granting new ones, Using magic and opening and closing gates to other worlds. Chat and Ladybug were simply speechless and could barely keep up with what was being told. 

“Ok This is just too much!” Chat said, shaking his head. 

“Yea, I think we're a bit out of our depth here.” Ladybug said, rubbing her head. 

“I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t be telling you guys any of this if it wasn’t important. But now that we got the boring stuff out of the way, let’s talk about the enemies we might be facing.” Riku said in a serious tone. Ladybug and Chat both nodded and prepared themselves. Before Riku could speak about the enemies they would soon face, Ladybug and Chat’s Miraculouses began beeping. 

“NO! NOT NOW PLAGG!” Chat Complained pounding the ground with his fist. 

“Tikki Why!?” Ladybug also complained. Master Fu smiled and stood up. 

“It’s fine, I think you both have heard enough for today. I’m sure you both are overloaded from all this information, we can continue this another time.” The old man said. Chat and Ladybug stood up in shock. 

“But Master-” “No buts you two, I said we can continue this another day. For now, you both head home, de-stress and feed your Kwami’s.” The old Guardian said in a calm tone. Ladybug and Chat sighed in defeat and nodded. 

“Yes Master.” They both said. Riku felt a bit bad for the two heroes, he was getting to something very important. Chat then put a smile on his face and walked up to Riku. 

“Sorry man, we keep bailing on you don’t we?” Chat asked with a sheepish smile. Riku got up and smiled back at the cat hero. 

“It’s fine, I’m gonna have to get used to it.” He said with a small chuckle. Chat chuckled as well and raised his fist to Riku. 

“I’m really looking forward to working with you Riku.” Chat said. Riku also raised his fist and bumped his with Chat’s. 

“So am I, I can't wait to see what you both can really do.” He said. Ladybug then walked up and joined the fistbump. 

“With the Three of us here, Hawkmoth and this Organization better watch themselves.” Ladybug said with determination in her voice. Riku and Chat nodded. The three ended their fistbump and the heroes Miraculouses began beeping again. 

“Gotta go, See you soon boys! Bug Out!” Ladybug said before swinging off with her Yo-Yo. 

“I’m gone too, See ya pal.” Chat said as he took to the skies with his Staff. Riku watched the two heroes leave and smiled. 

“Those two have a strong bond and I can sense a lot of power within them.” He said. 

“Yes, the two of them have so much untapped potential. They’re growing stronger everyday and bond even stronger.” Master Fu said standing beside Riku. 

“I’ll do my best to keep them both safe, Neither Hawkmoth or the Organization will get them.” Riku promised. Fu smiled at the young boy. 

“Thank you Riku, now I believe we have other matters to discuss.” He said. Riku turned to the old man with a raised eyebrow. 

“What to you-” Before Riku could finish his sentence, the master handed the boy a folder with a few papers inside. 

“Yen-Sid wanted you to fit in while protecting this world and I felt the best way for you to do that was to join Paris’s society.” Fu explained. Riku was still confused as he opened the folder and began reading one of the papers. 

“Riku Kurayami, Age: 17. To attend Collège Françoise Dupont on Mon-WAIT, WHAT!?” Riku said Shocked by what he just read. Master Fu continued to smile at the boy and Riku looked at the Master. “Old man, please tell me you didn’t enroll me in a school.” Riku said in a pleading tone. The Master’s kinda smile turned into a smirk and Riku pinched the bridge of his nose. 

“Why did it have to be school?”

Location: Françoise Dupont High School

Riku looked up at the large school in front of him with a dark blue bag around his shoulder and he sighed in annoyance. 

“Why did it have to be school?” He said to himself. 

“Come on Juleka, We’re gonna be late!” Riku turned his head and saw a short girl with blonde pixie cut and sapphire blue eyes pulling the hand of another girl about his height with long black hair with a single long bang that covered her the left side of her face. Riku saw the mouth of the tall girl move, but she was too quiet for him to hear her. He watched as the two entered the building and he smiled a bit. 

“They both seem close and they’re both radiating a strong light. Maybe Master Fu put me here for a reason other than wanting me to get an education.” He said with a chuckle. With that, Riku walked upstairs and entered the school. Upon entering her looked around and honestly it wasn’t what he was expecting. 

“An inside Courtyard?” He said to himself looking around. The silver haired boy was overwhelmed by the amount of students in the courtyard, he wasn’t used to being around this many people but he knew he had to shake it off. “Calm yourself Riku, you’ve handled worse than a bunch of other teens before.” He said to himself. The boy then reached into his bag and took out the folder Master Fu gave. 

“Let’s see, my homeroom teacher is...Caline Bustier. Second floor, huh?” Riku said as he looked at the stairs leading to the second floor and began walking towards them. “Alright, let’s get this over-OOF!” Riku grunted as someone had run into him. 

“Ow!” The silver haired boy looked down and a girl a tad bit shorter than him on the ground and rubbing her head. “Hey, you ok?” He said, offering a hand to the girl. 

“Oh uh yea I’m fine, Thank you and sorry.” She said, taking Riku’s hand. Riku pulled the girl up and finally got a good look at her. She had medium blue hair tied in twin-tails, bluebell eyes and light freckles on her face. “Again thank...you…” The girl trailed off as her eyes went wide. Riku took notice of this and raised an eyebrow. 

“You ok, you didn’t fall too hard I hope.” He said in concern. The girl didn’t answer as a million questions were flooding her mind. 

“ W.. w.. What’s Riku doing here!? Master Fu didn’t tell me that he was going to be here! Is he joining our school!? Does he Know I’m Ladybug!? Did Master Fu Tell him!?” All these questions filled her head and Riku was getting more concerned. 

“Hello, is anyone there?” He asked, waving his hand in front of the girl. The girl finally came to her senses and shook her head. 

“Oh.. um right, Sorry! I didn’t mean to stare!” She spazzed. Riku was more confused, but he decided to let it slide. 

“It's fine, don’t worry about it. Are you alright?” He asked the girl again. 

“Uh yeah, I’m ok. I really need to watch where I’m going. Are you new here? Of course you’re new here, I’ve never seen you before! Nope, not ever.” She said with a sheepish smile. Riku waited until the girl finished spazzing and spoke up again. 

“No you’re fine and yes I’m new here. I just transferred from my old school back in America.” Riku explained using the cover story Master Fu gave him. Marinette knew he was lying since Riku told her his true origin yesterday, but she decided to play along for her secret identity’s sake. 

“America! That’s so cool, it must be weird being so far away from home, huh?” Marinette asked. Riku just shrugged his shoulders. 

“Not really, I'm used to traveling actually. My Parents always liked taking me to different places, they just decided that Paris would be a great place for us to settle down for a while.” Riku explained. He hated when he had to extend a lie for a long term stay, but he really had no choice. Marinette understood why he was telling her this story, Tikki did explain that Keyblade Wielders must keep their secrets. 

“That's amazing, I wish I could travel around the world. Paris is great, but I just-” “Wanna see what the rest of the world has to offer.” Marinette’s eyes widened, shocked that Riku finished her sentence. Riku smiled at the girl’s reaction. “I used to have the same dream, I wanted to see what was beyond my home and I got my wish.” Riku then frowned a bit. “But I went about it the wrong way at first.” He said looking down. Marinette saw the frown on his face and she began to worry. 

“Hey, are you ok?” She asked in concern. Riku looked back up at the girl and nodded. 

“Yea it’s nothing, sorry.” He said with a small bow. 

“Oh no, it’s fine. Oh, I never introduced myself!” Marinette then outstretched her hand. “I’m Marrinette. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, nice to meet you.” She said with a bright smile. Riku smiled as well and took Marinette’s hand. 

“Nice name, I’m Riku Kurayami.” He said, shaking her hand. 

“Pleasure to meet you, Riku.” Marinette said with a bright smile. Riku nodded and ended the handshake. 

“Pleasure is mine. So tell me, does this place have anything interesting to offer?” He asked. 

“Oh plenty to do here: fencing, archery, art, basketball, anything really. Trust me you’ll love it!” Marinette explained. 

“I have no doubt I will.” Riku said.

RIIIINNNNGG!

“OH NO! I’m gonna be late! It was nice meeting you Riku, see you later!” With that Marinette then ran off again. Riku watched as the girl ran to her class and he chuckled. 

“Weird girl, but she’s got a very positive aura around her. I wonder if everyone around here is as interesting.” He said as he began walking to his own classroom. 

“Excuse me, are you Riku?” The Silver haired boy stopped in his tracks and turned around to see an older woman with remillion hair and cyan eyes like his. 

With Marinette

Marinette was running to her class hoping not to be late on her first day of the new semester. 

“Well that was unexpected, who would have thought we would see Riku today?” Tikki said from inside Marinette’s purse. 

“That certainly was a surprise, you’d think the Master would have told us about this. Then again, Riku has to fit in when he goes into a new world so I guess this is the best way to do so.” Marinette said with a hand on her chin. 

“I think this is actually a great way for you to get to know him better in civilian form. While you’re Ladybug it’s all business, but as Marinette you could show him how to fit in better.” Tikki said in an excited tone. Marinette thought about this but she was interrupted by a voice calling out to her. 

“Well, look who’s finally on time.” Marinette looked up to saee Alya waving to her. “Oh Morning Alya!” She said waving back to her. 

“Good to see you early for once, come on we got new seats.” Alya said, wrapping her arm around Marinette. Marinette raised an eyebrow only for her eyes to widen and see that everyone’s seats had moved around and Adrien was in the front right section and Nino sitting behind him. 

“Oh my gosh!” She said before pulling Alya away from the classroom entrance. “How did you pull this off, you gave me a chance to sit next to Adrien! Wait, I have to sit next to Adrien! What am I gonna do, what am I gonna say? If I act so ridiculous around him, how are me and him supposed to work together?” Marinette continued to spazz for a good minute before Alya put her hand over her best friend’s mouth. 

“Easy there girl, the seat swap wasn’t my idea. Ms. Bustire said that seats were optional this time around. I’m sitting next to Nino and sorry to break the news to you but someone has already claimed the seat next to Adrien.” Alya explained. Marinette raised an eyebrow at this, when she looked in the classroom she saw that everyone but Adrien had someone sitting next to them. 

“Wait, then who-” “Girls get in here, class is gonna start soon.” Nino said from inside the classroom. Marinette and Alya jumped and walked back into the room, Alya went to sit next to Nino while Marinette decided to sit in one of the only two seats left and they were all the way in the back in the left section. 

“Oh well, it’s not all that bad. At least I got a nice view from the window.” Marinette sighed as she sat down at the window seat. After a few minutes, Marinette had gotten a bit comfortable in her new seat. Rose and Juleka were in the desks on the right side next to her so she had two of her best girlfriends to chat with if she wanted. Alya and Nino were a bit away from her, but they would send her smiles and waves whenever they could and that made Marinette happy. That happiness was nice but she still felt sad that she was so far from Adrien and the fact that she couldn’t see his face really brought her down a bit. 

“It’ll be ok Marinette.” Marinette looked down at her purse and saw her Kwamii smiling at her. 

“Yea you’re right, this year is gonna be great.” She whispered. Just as Marinette made that declaration, the door to the class opened. She had expected her teacher, but she saw the one person she really didn’t want to see….Lila 

“Good Morning Everyone.” Lila said with a ‘Sweet’ smile. Marinette was speechless. She knew Lila was still in Paris because of the Heroes Day attack but she didn’t expect her to return to school so soon. 

“Hey there Lila, Welcome back.” Nino said, smiling at the girl. 

“Yea it’s been a long time, did you have fun traveling?” Alya asked curiously. 

“Oh it was amazing, being in New York was the best part though. So many amazing restaurants, theaters, and people. It was amazing.” Lila said. Everyone in class except for Adrien, Chloe and Marinette stared at her in awe. Lila then looked to her seat next to Adrien. 

“Oh Alya, thank you for keeping my seat open for me. I really appreciate it.” She said in a sweet tone before walking over to her seat. 

“Oh it’s not a problem, I know you have a hearing problem so I knew you would have to sit in the front.” Alya said with a smile. Marinette couldn’t believe what she was hearing, Alya was saving the seat for Lila because of an obvious lie she told her. Lila then turned to Adrien who just gave the girl an awkward smile. 

“I’m so glad to see you again Adrien and I hope you can help me catch up on what I missed while I was gone.” She said to the blonde. Adrien scooted a bit away from Lila but kept his smile. 

“Uh, yea sure...no problem.” He said in a hesitant tone. Marinette couldn’t watch this any longer and quickly stood up, but before she could walk down and confront Lila… 

“Good Morning kids!” Ms.Bustire said with a cheerful tone. Marinette and the class gave the teacher their attention and Marinette sat back down with a frown on her face. 

“Good Morning Ma’am.” The class said in unison. 

“I’m happy to see all of you back for the new semester and I’m happy to welcome Lila back to class as well.” Ms.Bustire said as she gestured to the brunette who waved to the class. 

“Now before we get started, I have a small announcement. We have a new exchange student joining us for the year. He's a young man from New York, so I hope you all will get along with him.” She said as Everyone in class wondered who this new student was and what he was like. Marinette’s eyes widened as she had a strong feeling about who this new student was and she both felt excited and scared. 

“You may come in.” Ms.Bustire said, facing the door. A few seconds passed and the door opened to reveal a tall boy with short silver hair, Cyan eyes and a neutral expression on his face. Adrien, Alya, Nino and Chloe all widened their eyes as they saw the boy from the Heroes Day attack.

“ Riku! What’s he doing here!?” Adrien thought to himself. 

“ That’s the guy who helped us fight Hawkmoth...I think his name is… Riku?” Alya thought as she looked over the boy. Nino and Chloe had the same thoughts and questions but decided not to voice them. Marinette just stared at the Keyblade wielder and she sighed. 

“ Well… this just got more complicated.” She thought. Lila could only stare at the silver haired boy in shock and she didn’t show it on the outside but on the inside she was fuming. 

“What the hell is he doing here!?” She thought angrily. 

“Everyone, this is Riku Kurayami.” Ms.Bustire said, placing a hand on Riku’s shoulder. Riku looked around at all the students that were staring at him and he was getting a tad nervous but he took a breath and spoke up. 

“Hey, nice to meet you all.” He said with a small bow. 

The class all had differing opinions of him: Kim wanted to know if he was athletic, Juleka and Rose were in awe at his choice in clothing. Max, Nathaniel and Alix thought his voice was cool and quiet. Chloe just thought he was another idiot in the class while Sabrina stared at Riku with interest. Ivan and Mylene both thought of Luka when they saw Riku. Alya and Nino both thought the boy would be a nice addition to the class and a good chance to get to know the new Hero of Paris. Adrien was excited to have Riku join his class, not only will he be working with him as Chat but now he can hangout with him in civilian form as well. Lila was still seething on the inside, but kept her ‘sweet’ smile on her face. Marinette could only smile at the silver haired boy and his simple introduction. 

“Alright, does anyone have any questions for Riku before we get started?” Ms.Bustire asked the class. Many hands shot into the air. “Go ahead and pick someone Riku.” Ms.Bustire said. Riku nodded and looked around the class and pointed at Alix who smiled as she saw she was chosen. 

“Your last name Kurayami is Japanese right, does it have a meaning?” She asked. Riku was actually surprised by this question, no one ever asked about his last name before. 

“Actually yes it is and it means Dark Night.” He answered. The class except for Chloe and Lila actually thought that was cool. 

“Ooooh, We have a Dark Knight in the class!” Nino said with a fist pump. Riku chuckled at the statement. 

“No no, I mean Night as in the Night Sky.” He explained. Nino nodded at the explanation, but he still thought it was cool. Riku then pointed at Juleka. 

“Um… Where did you get your clothes from?” She asked quietly. 

“Oh I got these from three good friends of mine back home. They have a knack for making great clothing.” Riku said, remembering the three good fairies. Marinette was curious about this and wondered if she could get some tips from these friends of Riku. Riku then pointed to Kim who in turn stood up and pointed back. 

“You and Me, three laps around the school after classes end today!” He said, declaring his challenge. Riku just stared at Kim with wide eyes while the rest of the class just groaned. 

“Seriously Kim, he just got here! Give him a week to get to know us all at least!” Alix yelled. Kim was about to argue back, but Riku spoke up first. 

“No no it’s fine, I accept.” Riku said with a cocky smile. The class looked at Riku with wide eyes, but Kim quickly composed himself and smiled back. 

“Awesome!” He cheered before sitting down again. Riku chuckled again, Kim sorta reminded him of Sora when they were younger. 

“Alright kids, I think that's enough for now.” Ms.Bustire said before turning to Riku. 

“Riku, the only seat I see right now is next to Marinette in the back. Are you ok with that?” She asked. Riku looked over to see the Marinette in the back and gave a nervous wave. 

“Sure, I have no problem with that.” He said before walking over to his seat. Upon reaching Marinette, Riku placed his bag onto the floor, sat down and looked at the girl. “Didn’t expect to see you again so soon.” He said with a small smile. Marinette giggled a bit and nodded. 

“Yea, I didn’t think you would be in my class.” Marinette said with a warm smile on her face. 

“Just lucky I guess.” Riku said with a shrug. 

“Now kids, go ahead and open your textbooks to 23. Riku since you don’t have a textbook yet, you and Marinette can share hers.” Ms.Bustire said. Riku and Marinette nodded and the latter pulled out a small tablet. 

“Hope you don’t mind.” She said placing the tablet between them. 

“Nah it’s fine.” With that, Ms.Bustire began her lesson. As class was going on, Lila had taken some quick glances at Riku and she was not happy. 

“ Why is he here, isn’t he a hero!? This is bad, I need to come up with an excuse if he decided to out me for Heroes Day.” She thought to herself. Alya and Nino took some glances at Riku too both because they were interested in the new Hero and to see how Marinette was getting along with him. 

“So, what is your take on the guy?” Nino Whispered. Alya looked over the silver haired boy again and then turned back to Nino. 

“Well, since he helped us out against Hawkmoth back on Heroes Day, he can’t be that bad. Plus, it looks like Marinette is already taking a liking to the guy.” She said, 

“True, but do you think it’s a good idea for him to be here? He doesn't have a secret identity and I doubt he’s gonna sit on the sidelines if Ladybug and Chat Noir are fighting another one of Hawkmoth’s Akuma.” Nino said in a worried tone. 

“That’s not our call and honestly I don’t think it’s Ladybug or Chat Noir’s either. I think he might be working independently in another matter altogether and I think helping our two heroes is just a side gig.” Alya theorized. Nino thought about this for a minute and nodded. 

“That does explain why he wasn’t with us when we first grouped up against Hawkmoth's army and from what I could tell he doesn’t have a Miraculous.” He said putting a hand to his chin. 

“So the big Questions surrounding our new classmate are: Who is he, where did he get his powers and why is he in Paris?” Alya listed off. 

“ALYA, NINO!” The couple both jumped and looked at Ms.Bustier who had a disappointed look on her face. 

“I hope my lesson isn’t interrupting your conversation.” She said, Alya and Nino both shook their heads. “Good, now please pay attention.” The teacher said before leaning against her desk. 

“Yes Ma’am.” The couple said. Riku couldn’t help but chuckle a bit at the scene,it reminded him of how he and Sora would always get into trouble back when they were in school. 

“Something funny?” Marinette whispered. 

“Nah, just nostalgia. My best friend and I would sometimes cause trouble and those two getting lectured brought back some memories.” Riku said with a small smile. 

“Oh really, so you’re a troublemaker huh?” Marinette teased. Riku snickered. 

“I’ve done my best to grow out of it. Now instead of causing trouble, it always tends to find me somehow.” He said. Marinette giggled again. 

“Believe me, I know that feeling all too well.” She said, Riku chuckled. 

“Nice to know I’m not alone.” He said. The two  looked at each other and smiled.

 “Guess we have something in common, huh?” Riku asked, causing Marinette to giggle again. 

“AHEM!” Riku and Marinette jumped and looked up to see Ms.Bustire tapping her foot impatiently. 

“Riku since this is your first day I’ll let you off easy, but Marinette I expect better from our class president. Marinette shrunk in her seat with a worried look on her face. 

“It’s not her fault.” Marinette looked at Riku with wide eyes. “I was asking her if there were any good clubs around here and she was giving me some good suggestions. I didn’t mean to get her in trouble.” He said. Marinette continued to stare at Riku while Ms.Bustire slowly began to smile. 

“Well, Marinette is always one to help out others. I’ll look past it this time, for now, please pay attention.” She said, 

“Yes Ma’am, sorry.” Riku said with a small bow. He then turned to Marinette and smirked at her. 

“Consider that payback for bumping into me.” He said with a chuckle. Marinette did everything in her power not to laugh. 

“I guess you got me, thanks.” She said, 

“No problem.” Riku said. The two then finally turned their attention to Ms.Bustire and her lesson.

Location: Agreste Manor

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T TELL ME ABOUT THE BOY!?” Gabriel yelled as Nooroo flinched away. 

“A-As I said Master, I’m not allowed to. It’s taboo for us to discuss the job of Keyblade Wielders, unless you know one personally or you know someone with the knowledge that he knows it’s forbidden.” Nooroo Explained. Gabriel seethed at this information, Nooroo knew about the silver haired boy but he actually couldn’t talk about him. 

“What can you tell me?’ He asked. Nooroo gulped and began to speak. 

“All I can say is that Keyblade Wielders are ancient warriors that fight against the darkness of the world. They are very powerful.” Nooroo said. Gabriel groaned at the lack of information. 

“How does one acquire a Keyblade?” He asked. 

“I’m sorry Master, I don’t know. All I can say is that a strong heart is required.” Nooroo answered. Gabriel just pinched the bridge of his nose. 

“This is ridiculous, Ladybug and Chat Noir were bad enough but now we have this boy with powers even I can’t fathom! I need a way to end him before he starts truly getting in my way.” Gabriel said with a growl. Unbeknownst to Gabriel and Nooroo, a Dark portal was open above them and a shadowy figure was watching them with a dark smile.

Time Skip, Location: School Cafeteria

Riku and Marinette had become fast friends since their being partnered in class and Riku quickly noticed that Marinette was a bit of a klutz. She would sometimes trip over her words, she kept dropping her school supplies and just now she almost fell down the stairs as they were switching classes, lucky for her Riku caught her arm before she fell. 

“You really are accident prone, aren’t you?” Riku asked as he and Marinette arrived in the cafeteria. Marinette pouted at the Keyblade Wielders comment. 

“I’m not that accident prone, I’m just..” “Klutzy.” Riku said, finishing the girl’s sentence. 

“Exactly!.....HEY!” Marinette yelled as Riku laughed at her reaction. 

“You set me up for it, that’s your fault.” Riku said through his laughter. Marinette pouted again and crossed her arms which only caused Riku to laugh harder. 

“Wow Marinette, he’s only been here a few hours and he’s already comfortable with you.” Marinette and Riku turned around to see Alya, Nino and Adrien walking up to them with smiles on their faces. 

“Oh hey guys!” Marinette said in a cheerful tone. 

“Sup dudette I see you and the newbie are getting along just fine.” Nino said, giving the two a thumbs up. Marinette and Riku looked at one another and chuckled. 

“Yea I guess you can say that.” Marinette said. Adrien then spoke up. 

“I wouldn’t expect any less from you Marinette, you always make everyone feel welcome.” He said smiling at the class president. Marinette began to blush and giggle nervously. 

“I-Uh Thank you Adrien, I love-Appreciate it!” She said in an awkward tone. Riku watched the scene with a raised eyebrow and he knew right away that Marinette had a crush on the blonde in front of him. Alya and Nino both shook their heads and the former spoke up. 

“So Mari, you wanna introduce us or are we gonna have to do it.” Alya said with a smirk. Marinette blinked a few times and composed herself. 

“Oh yea, of course!” She then turned to Riku. 

“Riku, these are my pals from class. You should recognize a few of them.” Marinette then walked over to Alya and wrapped her arm around hers. 

“This is my best friend Alya, she a-”  “Reporter and the creator of the LadyBlog.” Riku said cutting Marinette off. Alya stared at the silver haired boy with shock in her eyes.

“You know me?” She asked in confusion. 

“I arrived here on Heroes Day and afterwards I wanted to know more about Paris and the stuff that was going down that day. Lucky for me, I came across the LadyBlog and it was very informative. You’ve done a great job with it.” Riku complimented. Alya’s shock was replaced with pride and she puffed out her chest. 

“Well Thank you, I do my best to make sure that my blog helps us understand our city’s heroes and the villains that threaten it.” She said. Marinette, Nino and Adrien couldn’t help but chuckle at the reporter. 

“That’s my girl, she really is a hard worker.” Nino said as he walked up to Riku. “Nino’s the name, DJ extraordinaire! Nice to meet ya dude!” He said holding a fist up to Riku. Riku smiled at the boy in front of him and he bumped his fist with Nino’s. 

“You too man, I’ve seen you in a few of Alya’s videos.” He said recognizing Nino. Nino smiled at being recognized by the Keyblade Wielder. Riku’s eyes then landed on the blonde boy that Marinette liked. “I don’t believe I know you though.” He said, gesturing to the blonde. Alya and Nino’s eyes widened at this, usually their Sunshine boy didn’t have to introduce himself to anyone due to him being the face of the Agreste Brand. Marinette and Adrien kept composed though since they knew Riku wasn’t from this world. 

“I’m Adrien. Adrien Agreste, Pleasure to meet you Riku.” He said holding his hand out to the silver haired boy. Riku quickly took his hand and shook it. 

“Pleasure is mine and good luck.” He said with a smirk. Adrien cocked an eyebrow at the Keyblade Wielder. 

“What do you mean?” He asked obliviously. Riku was confused now and looked to Alya and Nino who looked disappointed while Marinette was just staring at the boy with a love struck smile on her face. 

“ Oh…. I get it now. He has no idea, does he?” Riku thought to himself. Alya quickly went up to the two boys and spoke up. 

“Hey Riku, since you and Marinette have become fast friends, Would you like to join us for lunch?” She said with a smile. Riku knew that this subject was meant to be talked about without Adrien near. 

“Sure, I am hungry.” The Warrior of the Dawn said winking at Alya. Alya sighed silently knowing Riku understood. 

“Hey Sunshine, you grab a table for us and we’ll grab you a tray of food.” She said to Adrien. The model nodded and walked off not noticing that Marinette was watching him the whole time. Riku, Alya and Nino watched on with amused looks on their faces. 

“Wow, she has it bad.” Riku commented. 

“You have no idea dude.” Nino said with a chuckle. 

“Our girl loves that boy, but she’s too shy to confess and Sunshine is completely oblivious to her feelings.” Alya explained with a shake of her head. Riku didn’t know too much about love or romantic relationships, but he could tell Marinette really cared about Adrien and he smiled at that fact. 

“My lips are sealed.” He said with a thumbs up. Alya and Nino smiled back at Riku and the former walked up to her best friend. 

“Alright girl, let’s go get some food.” Alya said, leading Marinette to the lunch line. Nino and Riku followed after them and didn’t notice that Lila was watching the two with narrowed eyes. 

“Great, now not only is he a hero but now he’s close to Adrien and his friends. This guy is literally getting in my way and I doubt he even realizes it.” She said to herself. Lila then thought back to when she fought Riku on Heroes Day. Miraculous cure or not, she could still feel the pain of being slashed by Riku’s Keyblade and it angered her. “I’ll get you back for that!” She threatened.

Chapter Text

Location: Collège Françoise Dupont

“So tell us Riku, you said you transferred from New York, how was it living there?” Alya asked as she, Nino, Marinette and Adrien were eating lunch at a lone table with the silver-haired boy. Riku took a bite out of his apple before answering the reporter. 

“Not really much to talk about, I was only there for a few months before we moved again. Not enough time to really settle down and make too many friends.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders.

“You did tell me this morning that you move around alot.” Marinette said before drinking her tea. 

“Yea, my parents don’t like being grounded in one place but when we got to Paris I didn’t want to leave yet. So I told them I wanted to stay here till they came back around, simple as that.” Riku explained using the story Master Fu gave him. 

“That’s so sweet, you’re living alone then?” Nino asked with a smile.

 “Yea, my parents left me more than enough to live off of for the next year.” Riku answered. 

“You’re so lucky, I wish my parents would leave me and my sisters alone for a year.” Alya said with slight jealousy. Riku shrugged his shoulders at what Alya said. 

“I wouldn’t wish my family away if I were you. You could get your wish one day and regret it.” The group looked at the silver haired boy with wide eyes. 

“That… isn't actually something I'd expect anyone to say.” Marinette said, slightly confused. Riku sighed. 

“Let’s just stay, I spent some time away from my family a long time ago and I didn’t realize how much I missed them.” Riku explained, looking down in shame. Adrien knew the feeling of being away from a family member. Riku then shook his head and his smile returned. “Sorry, didn’t mean to bring down the mood. Enough about me, tell me about yourselves.” He then turned to Alya. “I bet there is more to you than just the ladyblog, am I right?” Alya gave the Keyblade wielder a nod. 

“In all honesty, I’m trying my best to be a reporter. The Ladyblog is just my stepping stone to achieving my dream. It’s what I’ve wanted to be ever since I was little… well that and a superhero.” Riku as well as the rest of the group chuckled at that last part. 

“I’m pretty sure every kid in the world wanted to be a superhero at one point or another.” Adrien said, causing the group to nod. Riku then looked to Nino. 

“And what about you mister DJ Extraordinaire, you have a big dream too?” Nino fixed his hat with a smirk. 

“Of course, music is my life. Bringing sweet beats and rhythm to the ears of the people. Seeing all the joy my music brings them is kinda what I live for dude.” Alya put an arm around her boyfriend. 

“Aren’t you sweet.” Nino blushed and smiled at his girlfriend. Riku also smiled at the two, it reminded him of how Sora and Kairi used to be before their last talk. He then frowned remembering he was there for that conversation. 

“ I should probably give him a call and see if he's doing ok. ” Adrien saw the frown on the Keyblade Master's face and spoke up. 

“Riku?” The silver haired boy turned his head to face the blonde. “You ok, we lost you again.” Riku realized he was bringing down the mood again, so he put on a smile for his new friends. 

“Don't worry about me, I'm good.” He then turned back to Alya and Nino. “You both make a good pair, keep on following your dreams. You both seem to already have everything you need to make them a reality.” Alya and Nino couldn’t help smiling at the Keyblade Master and his words. 

Riku then turned to Marinette and Adrien. 

“What about you two, any plans for the future?” The pair were silent for a few seconds before Marinette spoke up.

“Well, my dream is to become a big time fashion designer one day. Fashion has always been a passion of mine since I was little and I'm working my best to be a great designer.” Marinette explained with a hopeful smile.

“What do you mean ‘working’, your designs are already amazing. My father and Chloe's mom acknowledge how talented you are Marinette, that should tell you a whole lot about your future in fashion.” Adrien said, giving the Marinette a bright smile. Marinette blushed and covered her face in embarrassment while smiling blissfully 

“Oh stop it, I'm not that special.” She said, softly. The group laughed at their friend's reaction to the compliment. Riku then looked to Adrien who nodded towards him.

“I haven't really thought of anything past being a model for my father's company. In all honesty, I'm pretty boring.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders. Nino then put his arm around his best friend.

“Dude you're anything but boring and you just need to find something that speaks to you in the way our passions speak to us. I know that's hard for you considering how old man is but I know you'll find it.” Adrien chuckled at his friend and raised his fist.

“Thanks Nino.” The DJ bumped his fist with Adrien and nodded. Riku watched on with a nostalgic look on his face. Adrien and Nino reminded him of how he and Sora acted when they were young and how they would always have each other's backs no matter what.

“It's nice to see how close the two of you are.” Nino and Adrien nodded.

“Nino was the first friend I made when I transferred in, he's the best friend a guy could ask for.” Alya and Marinette giggled.

“Should I be worried about you taking my man, Sunshine?” Alya asked in a playful tone. Marinette and Riku couldn't help but burst out laughing while Adrien and Nino stuck their tongues out at them. 

As the group carried on having fun, Lila watched them from another table. On the outside she was putting on a sweet face but on the inside she was fuming as seeing Riku getting along with Adrien. 

“ It’s bad enough he ruined my effort to finally put Ladybug in her place on Heroes Day, but now he’s making quick friends with Adrien and his little group. How can he just be here, it makes no sense!” Lila’s thoughts were filled with such hate and confusion, she wanted nothing more than the boy to disappear.

“Lila, are you ok?” Lila was brought out of her thoughts and looked in front of her to see Rose and the rest of the class minus Adrien, Marinette, Nino, Alya, Chloe, Sabrina and Riku staring at her. 

“Oh yes I'm fine, just a small headache is all. I suffer from them from time to time, I appreciate you checking on me, Rose.” Lila said in a ‘sweet’ tone. 

“Oh no, Juleka and I will get you some water for that.” Rose said as she and her best friend got up and went back to the lunch line. Lila put on a fake smile and waved to them before putting her eyes back on Riku. 

“ I have to do something about this guy before he gets the chance to ruin everything again. ” Lila thought. As she was seething, she failed to notice a few wisps of darkness escape her.

Riku’s senses went off and he stood up without warning. The group all stared at him with shocked expressions.

“Riku, what's wrong?” Marinette asked in a worried tone. Riku didn't answer as he scanned the room for any signs of danger. His eyes landed on Lila who was staring right at him. No one else could see it, but there were multiple wisps of Darkness emanating from her. Riku narrowed his eyes and Lila did the same towards him. 

“Riku!” The Keyblade wielder was pulled out of his concentration and put his attention back to the group who all wore worried expressions on their faces. Riku gave Lila one last look before sitting back down.

“Sorry, I thought I saw something.” He said in a low tone. Marinette and Adrien knew there was more to it than that and so did Alya and Nino. “Tell me something, who is that girl, the brunette?” He asked. Marinette and Adrien flinched upon hearing his question.

“Oh you mean Lila, she's an exchange student from Italy. . She and her mother moved to New York last semester. She came back because she said she missed all of us.” Alya said with a smile. Riku narrowed his eyes again. 

“Is that right?” He asked in suspicion. Nino and Alya nodded their heads while Marinette and Adrien decided to keep their feelings about Lila to themselves for now. 

“Why do you ask, dude?” Nino asked innocently.

“No reason, just noticing that she’s getting a lot of good treatment from the rest of the class.” Riku said in a neutral tone. 

“It’s not surprising, Lila has a sprained wrist so everyone is just giving her a hand.” Nino said with a shrug of his shoulders.” Riku hummed to himself for a few seconds before speaking up again. 

“Didn’t she also say she had a hearing issue?”

“Yea why?” Riku just gave a silent groan.

“ This girl really is a class act, she’s got everyone wrapped around her finger.” He thought in slight irritation. Riku then looked to Marinette and Adrien and saw them looking a tad uncomfortable about the conversation. “ Maybe not everyone.” 

“Nevermind, just curious is all. So tell me, what kind of clubs are interesting around here?” Marinette and Adrien brightened up at the subject change and the latter gladly answered. 

“I say Fencing is a good club to join.” 

“Fencing, huh?”

Location: Agreste Mansion

Gabriel Agreste was tirelessly looking through every history book and online resource he could find, he was searching for anything related to Keyblade Wielders and their origins and so far… he found nothing.

“AHHH!” Gabriel screamed as he shoved multiple books and papers off his desk in a fit of rage. “How can there be nothing!?” Nooroo, Duusu and Nathalie watched on with worried looks on their faces. “I've cross referenced everything relating to the Keyblade and warriors that wield them, but nothing comes up!” Gabriel then sat down at his desk and put both hands on his head in anger. Nathalie slowly walks up to him and puts a hand on his shoulder.

“You need to calm down Gabriel, overworking yourself is only going to help Ladybug, Chat Noir and this Keyblade Wielder in the long run. You need to keep a clear head and stop obsessing over this. Maybe it’s time… we just stop.” She said in a soft tone. Gabriel groaned in annoyance.

“I can’t do that, you know I can’t. I have a chance this time, Ladybug and Chat Noir are nearly within my grasp. This Keyblade Wielder is just another complication I must overcome. I will gain their Miraculous and return Emile to us, I mustn't give up!” 

“Ohhh that’s soo beautiful!” Duusu said in an overly dramatic sad tone.

“Shhh, not so loud Duusu! We mustn’t interrupt them.” Nooroo said in a fearful tone. The Kwami’s were ignored by their owners and they sat in silence for a bit. 

“I understand, but you must think about your own he-” Nathalie then starts coughing sporadically causing Gabriel to quickly stand up and embrace her. 

“I’m more worried about your health, you shouldn’t have used the Peacock Miraculous. You know what it did to-” “I know, but I had to save you from the Heroes and the boy.” Nathalie said with a soft smile. Gabriel also smiled at her and he sighed.

“I'll find a way to help you both, but I must find a way to get rid of the Keyblade Wielder and seize Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous. It's the only thing I can do right now and I will do anything to make my promises a reality!” 

“Is that right?” Nathalie and Gabriel both jumped as a voice from nowhere had spoken up.

“Who is there, show yourself!” Gabriel demanded as he, Nathalie, Duusu and Nooroo were looking around the office for the source of the voice. 

“No cause for alarm, I'm a friend. One who can aid you in your fight against the Keyblade Wielder, Riku.” Gabriel's eyes widened.

“You know the boy?” He asked curiously. Just as he asked that a Corridor of Darkness appeared in front of him and Nathalie. Duusuu and Nooroo gasped and hid behind their holders as a tall man with long silver hair and yellow eyes walked out with a smirk on his face. “Who are you?” Gabriel asked as he and Nathalie took a step back. The man chuckled darkly.

“My name… is Ansem.”

Location: Collège Françoise Dupont

After Lunch was done and over with, Riku and his new friends all returned to Ms. Bustier classroom and Sat back down into their seats with the rest of the class. Marinette keeps her eyes on Lila as she forces herself into the model’s personal space. Riku took notice of the Marinette’s growing annoyance with the brunette and spoke up.

“I’m gonna take a wild guess and say you can’t stand her?” He said in a neutral tone. Marinette faced Riku with her eyes wide.

“Well… I mean… she…” She then sighs and puts a hand on her head. 

“Did she do something to you?” Marinette shook her head. 

“Not to me personally but… she’s just… a massive liar.” Marinette said, covering her hands with her face. Riku didn’t look surprised by what Marinette said, he knew Lila was a terrible person back when he fought her on Heroes day. She willingly worked with Hawkmoth and almost turned the City against Ladybug, in his eyes she would be a prime heartless leader candidate if the darkness in her heart was stronger than it was that day. 

“I had a feeling that was the case.” Riku said with a shake of his head. Marinette took her hands off her face and looked at Riku again.

“You… you did?” She asked in shock. Riku nodded and looked over to Lila and Adrien. 

“Let’s just say I’ve dealt with people like her in the past, people who use lies and deceptions to abuse the kindness and naivete of people to further their own goals.” Riku said in disgust. His mind flooded back to the days he was being used and lied to by Maleficent. Marinette sighed at Riku’s words.

“Those kinds of people really get under my skin and the fact that everyone just… believes her makes me even more upset.” She said, visibly shaking in annoyance. Riku put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. 

“I understand how you feel, but you mustn’t let your anger take over. Don’t wanna get akumatized, do you?” Riku asked in a serious tone. Marinette flinched at the very thought and took a deep breath to calm down. 

“Thanks and sorry.” She said looking down in shame. Riku gave her a small smile.

“It’s fine, I know it’s hard but you have to keep your emotions under control during times like this. Tell me, has she pulled this kinda thing before?” Marinette nodded.

“When she first arrived here last semester, she was feeding people all these stories about meeting royalty, traveling the world with rockstars on tour, ect. She had everyone wrapped around her thumb and then she got akumatized and apparently left the day after to ‘travel the world’ again.” Riku took in everything Marinette said and he shook his head. 

“I see, let’s put a pin in this for now Marinette. Something tells me this girl is gonna be a lot more trouble down the line.” He said as he put his attention on the Ms. Bustier who was walking back into the classroom. Marinette nodded her head and did the same. Riku gave Lila one final glance.

“ I’ll be keeping a close eye on you, Lila Rossi.”  

The school day had ended and Riku was walking out of the classroom with Marinette, the two were heading to the front of the school where Kim was waiting for his race with the silver haired boy.

“You know you don’t have to entertain Kim and his antics.” Marinette said with a smile. 

“I know, but I’ve always been competitive and this gives me an excuse to cut loose a bit.” Riku said in a cryptic tone. Marinette had a very good idea about what he meant, she knew Riku was very fast with his magic but she wasn’t sure if he was without it. She then felt a small tap on her side and looked down to see Tikki peeking out of her purse. 

“You go off without me, I gotta head to the bathroom.” Riku nodded towards the girl and went on his way while she ran off to the bathroom. Once she was inside and made sure no one was inside with her, Tikki floated up to her holder. “What’s up Tikki?” 

“I was just wondering what you thought of Riku now that you got to spend a bit of time with him.” Tikki answered in an honest tone. Marinette was taken aback by the question but she then leaned against one of the stalls and looked up to the ceiling. 

“He’s pretty normal considering what we know about him, he reminds me of Luka in a way, calm, cool and collected.” She said with a soft smile. Tikki smiled as well. “I was expecting him to be a lot different.” 

“I know what you mean, Keyblade Wielders back then didn’t always stick around for too long or connect with others not from their own world.” Tikki explained. 

“I guess because the threats back then probably weren’t that severe or maybe it was because of the ‘World Order’ rule.” Marinette theorized. 

“I can’t really say for sure, myself as well as previous Ladybugs from thousands of years ago didn’t really get to know them all that well… well except for one.” Tikki said, tilting her head.

“Really, you got to know a Keyblade Wielder before Riku?" 

“I wouldn’t say that, but she was really nice. My previous holder during that time and I worked with her to fight off a giant shadow monster.” Marinette was very curious about this now.

“What was her name?” 

“Oh, it was-” Before Tikki could answer, the door to the bathroom started to open. Tikki quickly got back into Marinette's purse and Marinette grabbed some paper towels and pretended to finish washing her hands. She then looked to the door and saw Lila walking inside. The brunette noticed the secret superhero and she smiled.

“Oh Marinette, I'm glad I ran into you, I wanted to pick your brain about something.” Lila said in a sweet tone as she walked over to her fellow classmate. Marinette wanted nothing more than to walk out of the bathroom at that moment, but she took a small breath and faced the brunette.

“Sure Lila, what do you need?” She asked in a neutral tone as she threw away the paper towels. Lila put a hand on her hip. 

“It’s the new student, I saw that you and him seem to be getting along very well. I was wondering if you could give me a way to go about approaching him.” Marinette narrowed her eyes slightly, she wants to get in Riku’s good graces and use him like she’s using the others. 

“Sorry Lila, I didn’t do anything special, I was just myself and he was ok with that. He seems to be pretty cool with people… so long as they’re honest. ” She said with emphasis on that final word. Lila’s ‘mask’ slightly cracked but she kept her smile. 

“I’m not sure what you mean by that, but there must be something you can tell me about him.” She insisted while moving closer to Marinette. Marinette took a small step back.

“Nothing that you can’t ask yourself, besides you’ve got such a good reputation with being up front with everyone else in class. Why do you need help with this?” She asked, crossing her arms. Lila’s eye twitched slightly.

“I’m not good with new people, I was just lucky that everyone here was just so accepting of me.” 

“Before or after you started spouting off lies to them?” Marinette asked in a smart tone. Lila finally dropped her ‘Mask’ and narrowed her eyes.

“I don’t know what you mean by that, I just tell people what they want to hear.” Lila said, also crossing her arms.

“That’s still lying, no matter how you try to sugarcoat it.” The two girls continued to stare at one another for a few seconds before Lila spoke up again.

“Whatever, it’s not like you can do anything about it anyway. Now tell me about Riku and I’ll be on my way.” 

“Give me one good reason I should!” Marinette said defiantly. Lila smirked.

“I’ll give you two. Number 1: Adrien!” Marinette froze. “It’s no secret that you like him, so believe me when I say I'll make every attempt to make sure you never get close to him again.” Marinette’s eyes widened at the threat. “And Number 2: I’ve already got your friends wrapped around my fingers, you think I can’t get them to forget all about their class president.” Lila then walked forward and pinned Marinette against the wall. “No friends, no love, and you will have NOTHING LEFT!” Lila exclaimed with a sinister smile. Marinette visibly shook at Lila’s words and actions, how could someone be so… horrible. Lila then released Marinette and flipped her hair. “I'll give you one last chance Marinette, you’re either with me or against me. I'll give you 'till the start of class tomorrow to tell me what you know about Riku or I'm going to make your life a living hell.” With that, Lila left the bathroom leaving a stunned Marinette who could do nothing but drop to her knees and cry. Tikki came out of Marinett’s purse and hugged her owner. 

“Marinette?” Tikki asked in concern. Marinette balled her hands into fists. 

“How… how can someone be that evil! Even Chloe was never this horrible, she’s… she’s…” Marinette just continued to cry instead of finishing her sentence. 

Location: Hawkmoth’s Lair

An ominous window opened and filled a dark room with butterflies with light. Standing in the room was Hawkmoth and Ansem both with evil smirks on their faces. 

“Ah yes, the anger and sadness of a young girl who’s in danger of losing everything she cares about. A perfect new victim for my Akuma.” Hawkmoth said as a butterfly landed in his hand. He then covered said butterfly with his other hand and infused it with power, turning its wings black. 

“I see, so you use the negative emotions of others to create your akumas. I’m impressed with your methods, Gabriel.” Asmen said with a dark chuckle.

“Thank you for your praise Ansem” Hawkmoth said before releasing the Akuma out into the world. “Fly away my little akuma and Evilize her!” He commanded as the Akuma flew off towards its target.
