Summary:

Kirishima met you one night for only a few moments. In those few moments he knew he wanted to know more of you.

That was until you disappeared without him getting to know your name.

A year later and he's stuck having to find a new place to live.

Now he's rooming with one of his best friends'older brother, a shut-in gamer and, to his delighted surprise, you.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

“Would you like another?” The bartender asks, a pitied look on his face.

Kirishima Eijirou had been stood up.

Having messaged a girl he thought liked him back for weeks, he finally decided to ask her out on a date. He picked the place, set the time and made sure everything was perfect. The red head arrived ten minutes early, flowers and her favorite drink ready to go for when she came. When eight rolled around and she wasn’t there, he thought she was running late. He sent her a text to check if she was alright.

Nothing.

Fifteen minutes later. Still no reply.

Twenty minutes later and he decided to call.

Straight to voicemail.

Thirty minutes later…

Forty…

Fifty…

An hour.

Not a single text or phone call.

So here he was sitting alone at a bar with a warm drink and slowly wilting flowers. Kirishima thought she liked him. They spent hours texting and talked on the phone when they both had the time. He thought they had a connection! A real spark!

But no.

No, now he was being stood up and probably ghosted and the bartender was there to witness it all.

“Just one more.” Kirishima sighed, defeated. He might as well drink down his sorrows before he makes the walk of shame back home. The home where his old classmates lived. The same classmates who encouraged him to try online dating in the first place. “You can close out my tab too.”

The bartender nods and quickly makes him a Jack and coke. Kirishima reached into his pocket, his wallet in hand when someone sat next to him. He glances over at a girl.

You…

Your hair was wet and windswept, makeup smeared, your outfit damp and sticking to your skin.

“What can I get ya?” Mr. Bartender asks.

“Long Island.” You huff as you run your hands through your hair.

“Rough night?”

“More like a nightmare.” You roll your eyes, your elbows resting on the bar. “It was a date from hell. This guy was the worst!”

“At least your date showed up.” Kirishima mumbled, more to himself than to you. “Mine is nowhere to be seen.” Your gaze flicks over to him, brows furrowed as you look at the forgotten drink and flowers. “I gave online dating a try no thanks to my friends and now I’m sitting at a bar drinking away my feelings.”

“Online dating, huh?” You ask, eyes softening.

“My friends made it sound so great! I thought it was too when I matched with this amazing girl! We had so much in common! I thought-“

“You had a connection?” You finish for him, he nods. “Yeah, online dating will do that to ya. It’s why I stopped. You can’t really connect with someone over the internet. It’s so easy to lie and make yourself up to be something you’re not.”

“Th-that’s what I said!” Kirishima straightens, a smile tugging on his lips. “You gotta be able to look someone in the eye and get the feel for them right then and there! That way, you’ll know their vibe or if they’re a decent person!”

“It’s easy to catfish someone, too.” You turn in your seat, your knee knocking into his. “The last date I went on was with someone I met online. We talked for like a week before meeting up. I get all dressed up, headed to the restaurant, and nearly screamed when I met up with a seventy-year-old man named Marty.”

“No way!” Kirishimas lips parted and your gaze lingers a little too long on his teeth before meeting his eye. “Who were you supposed to meet?”

“Some guy my age named Connor.”

“Did you leave?”

“I actually stayed.” You smirk, his eyes going wide and jaw dropping in disbelief.

“No way!”

“Hey a girls gotta eat.” You shrug. “Plus, he was actually really sweet. Turns out his wife passed about a year ago and he was trying to get back into the dating scene. His niece set up his profile for him, but after a month of no matches, she suggested posting a different picture. What she failed to mention was to post one of himself and not her boyfriend.”

“That- wow.”

“I was pissed, obviously, but after he literally got down on his knees for forgiveness, I caved and stayed for dinner.”

“Do you still talk?”

“We do.” The bartender hands the two of you your drinks, giving Kirishima a knowing look before tending to the other patrons. “I helped him spruce up his profile, and he is now sitting in the Bahamas with his new wife.”

Kirishima couldn’t stop the smile that stretched across his face. He watched you chug down half of your drink before sipping at his.

“So what about tonight?” He questions and gestures to your appearance.

“Oh, my date pushed me into the pool.” You say, Kirishimas smile falling. “Yeah, he thought it would be hilarious.”

“What’s so funny about that?!”

“I asked myself the same thing.” You giggle as you rest your cheek in your hand. “Not to mention it’s windy outside. I thought I was going to fly away.”

Kirishima noticed the slight shiver running through your body, saw the goosebumps on your skin and the subtle shaking of your jaw. He shot to his feet, startling you as he shrugs off his jacket and slips it over your shoulders.

“Bartender?” Kirishima called. “Do you have any towels?” The bartender nodded and headed to the back. You were staring at him, unblinking and surprise written on your face. “I’m sorry I didn’t notice sooner.”

“Th-thanks.” You mumble, wrapping the jacket around you tighter. “Most guys would never do that.”

“I’m not-”

“Oh, no- no!” You chuckle with a shake of your head. “Don’t you dare say you’re not like others guys or I might figurately die.”

“But I’m not!” He defends, smirking and hands up in the middle of his chest. “I’m a nice guy!”

“Says most serial killers.” You tease, he laughs. “And to think I was just about to let you buy me another drink.”

Kirishima blinks.

Oh...

OH!

“B-bartender!” Kirishima called again, excitement bubbling up in his chest. The man returns with a towel, hands it to you and meets Kirishimas eye. “Can she get another, um- what did you have?”

“A long island.” You were watching him curiously, a soft look of intrigue on your face. The bartender nods and turns while Kirishima offers you the towel. You dry yourself off as much as you could and switched the wet towel out for your drink. “Thank you.”

“Of course. Wouldn’t want you to get sick.”

“Eh, even if I did, I’m sure you’d be there to nurse me back to health.”

“That would be the manly thing to do.” Kirishima sips at his drink again, his smile so wide his cheeks were starting to hurt. You were flirting with him! At least he thinks so. Maybe him being stood up wasn’t such a bad thing after all. “Plus, having a hero at your beck and call would help.”

“Ah yes, cause the manliest hero out there has to be excellent with his bedside manner.” His heart skips a beat, his palms a little clammy. You called him the manliest hero! That just made his entire night, and you didn’t even know it. “Tell me, Mr. Red Riot, what would be the first thing you’d buy for a girl dying in bed with the common cold?”

“Oh- uh- Let me think.” Kirishima pinches his chin with his thumb and pointer finger as he thinks for an answer. “OH! Tylenol! That would help with the fever and then I’d get some cough drops, soup, tissues and- and- um- tea!”

“What if she doesn’t like tea?”

“Juice?” He makes a face, hoping you’d like juice. You said a girl, but he had a feeling you were talking about yourself.

He hopes…

“I could stomach some juice.” You were smiling a wide, toothy smile just like him. “I’m a giant baby when I’m sick. I hope you can handle it.”

Sitting here with you and the teasing back and forth was exactly the type of thing he loved about meeting people in person. Not only were you easy to talk to and unbelievably adorable, you seemed to be into him as well. That usually never happens! Kirishima could never seem to make the girls he’s interested in seeing him as more than just a friend.

“I’m sure I could.” His hand tightens around his drink, yours to your lips. “But let’s say someone wanted to- I don’t know- take you to dinner. What would you like then?” The question was out before he could stop himself. Between the alcohol and the way you were looking at him, he didn’t really think about it. It just felt right.

You hold your drink in your hand, swirling the liquid in the glass.

“I’d probably like unlimited all you can eat Japanese BBQ.” You answer, hiccupping. Kirishima beams and fishes out his wallet. He was ready to pay and hopefully turn your entire night around. “But this SOMEONE should probably ask me my name first.”

Kirishima straightens his spine and sticks out his hand, his heart hammering in his chest.

“I’m Kirishima Eijirou.” Your hand was cold, tiny compared to his. “What’s your name?”

You down your drink, your grip tightening slightly as you give him the sweetest smile he’s ever seen.

“I’m-”

“I am so sorry!” A girl apologizes as she wedges herself between you and Kirishima. “I tried getting here as fast as I could, but work was hectic.” It takes a hot second before Kirishima realizes that this girl, the one standing in between you and him, was his date. “I’m glad you’re still here.” She tosses her purse onto the counter, letting out a giant sigh of relief and a tired smile. “I wanted to call, but my phone died and I couldn’t find the charger.”

“Oh, it’s... fine.” Kirishima sheepishly rubs at the back of his neck.

So he didn’t get stood up. He thought that he would be happy about that.

He wasn’t.

Instead, he found himself wanting to spend the rest of the night with you. He wanted to get to know you more. Kirishima peered over the girl’s shoulder, ready to apologize when he saw your chair was empty and his jacket hanging over the armrest. He scanned through the crowd, hoping to see you nearby.

Kirishima had no luck.

The girl sat down where you had been, flagging down the bartender who did NOT look happy to see her there.

“Could I get Shirley temple please?” She asks, he frowns. Kirishima was still hoping that you would come back. He at least wanted to know your name. “Are they still serving food? I’m starving.”

“Can you wait here for a sec?” Kirishima says as he jumps to his feet and rushes out the door. The cold, harsh wind slaps him in the face the second he steps outside. People flooded the sidewalk, pushing past him drunk and barely able to keep themselves up. Friends were laughing, taking pictures while couples kissed and held hands as they waited for tables. There’s no way you could have gotten far. He snaps his head from left to right and left again.

Kirishima searched through the crowd for a few minutes before he accepted defeat.

You were gone...

Kirishima sighed, disappointment flooding his body as he made his way back in. His date was waiting patiently by the bar, eating cherries. She was pretty, just like her profile pictures, but he didn’t care too much about that. He apologized for running out and she just smiled and laughed, waving him off. The rest of the night went by without any incidents. She was nice and sweet and told him she would love to see him again.

And Kirishima was polite, a proper gentleman as he declined.

Kirishima just couldn’t get you out of his head.

So that night before he went to bed, he hoped that he would get to meet you again someday.

Kirishima Eijirou hoped that he’d see the pretty girl from the bar and finally learn her name.

Chapter Text

“That guy was a fuckin weirdo.” Bakugo said as he and Kirishima left a potential place to live. So far, every single place they’ve visited was either too expensive or the landlords were shady. Kirishima was hoping this last place would be a hit, but it was one hell of a miss. “Listen Ei, you don’t have to rush to leave. Izuku and I don’t mind you staying with us until you find an actual decent place to live.”

“I know that.” Kirishima sighed. “But I don’t want to intrude on your guys’ space any longer than I have to.”

“I told you we don’t care about that. You’re my best friend and his. You can stay with us for as long as you want. There’s no rush.”

“If this last place doesn’t work out, then I’ll stay.” He lied. As much as Kirishima loved his friends, he wanted out. He understands couples need their privacy. If this next apartment doesn’t work out, then he’ll have to consider other options that weren’t as appealing.

Bakugo huffed and rolled his eyes.

“Alright, but I’m telling ya this isn’t-“

Right as they turned the corner, Kirishima spotted Shoto and his older brother, Touya, leaving Endeavors agency. Touya looked annoyed and pissed off while Shoto held that same blank expression both Bakugo and Kirishima were used to. Touya was dressed in his black jeans, heavy black combat boots, and white t-shirt, while Shoto wore his hero uniform. He had more tattoos than the last time Kirishima saw him. Both his arms were covered in black ink snakes, blue flames and skulls. There were piercings in his nose now, three studs in the right nostril. Raven hair with white roots and his signature messy hair.

Yeah, he looks like a total thug compared to Shoto.

“Hey Shoto!” Kirishima called, getting both the Todoroki brothers’ attention. Shoto waved and made his way over to them while Touya reluctantly followed. “Good to see ya, man! How have you been?”

Shoto had been busy with hero work lately. With his growing popularity, his schedule was filled for days of team up missions, interviews and patrol.

“Tired.” Shoto said. “What are you two doing?”

“Apartment hunting.” Kirishima smiled. “Kats here is keeping me company.”

“Apartment hunting?”

“Yeah. I figured it was time to make a change and give Izuku and Kats their privacy.”

“Which I’ve said not to worry about,” Bakugo points out.

“We’ve been looking all day but I haven’t settled on anything yet.” Kirishima rubbed at the back of his head with a sheepish grin. “I wanted to be moved out by next week.”

“Oh.” Shoto glanced over his shoulder at Touya, who was staring boredly at the people passing by. Kirishima never spent much time with Touya. In high school, he and his friends would hang out at Shoto’s house a lot to study or hangout. Most of the time, Fuyumi and Natsuo would be there, but Touya would stay in his room. He had moved out when he turned eighteen and Kirishima saw him less and less after that. From what Kirishima could gather, he was a quiet guy who did not like to be bothered by much of anything. “Why don’t you move in with Touya?”

Touya’s head snapped in their direction, his brows rising to his hairline.

“Move in with who now?” Touya growled.

“You? You said you had an empty room after Jin moved out, right?”

“Well, yeah but-”

“So then Eijirou can move in.” Shoto stated and Touya glared.

“He’s not movin’ in.” Touya snapped as he shoved his hands into his pockets. “Don’t inconvenience me with your friends’ problems.”

“My friend needs a place to live, and that’s inconvenient for you?” Shoto asked, tilting his head. Touya scoffed and rolled his eyes before turning his back to the three heroes. Shoto slowly nodded, his mismatched eyes flicking between Kirishima and Bakugo. “It would probably be more inconvenient if Dad found out you were the one who stole his car and crashed it into the house when we were kids, right?”

Touya spun around, his eyes wide and jaw on the floor.

“You little fucker.” Touya stomped over to his brother, his head cocked to the side as he narrowed his eyes. “Are you trying to blackmail me?”

“Can Eijirou live with you?” He counters. The tension built between the two brothers as they stared each other down. Kirishima and Bakugo shift uncomfortably from foot to foot, neither one of them knowing what to do.

After a minute Touya worked his jaw, his hands balling into fists. He stepped back and sent a glare that could kill in Kirishima’s direction.

“You-” Touya pointed a ringed finger at him and scowled. “Let’s fuckin go.”

Kirishima didn’t argue as he, Shoto and Bakugo followed him to his apartment. He was quiet the entire way, never once bothering to tell Kirishima anything about the place or if he had any other roommates.

At this point Kirishima could only hope that it had four walls, a roof and bedroom he could lay his head in. Kirishima would keep low and out of the way until he saved up enough money to comfortably live on his own. Money was tight. Hero work paid well, but with him not being in the top ten like his friends, he didn’t get paid as much as they did.

Twenty minutes later, the four of them walk up to a five-story brick building. It was tucked away from the public street with the perfect view of Seiko Peak. Rindou flowers, irises, hydrangeas, peonies, and lavender surrounded the building. A giant tree sat by the entrance, the boys’ eyes going wide at the sight of the cherry blossoms in full bloom in mid-autumn.

“How-” Kirishima tried to ask but Touya cut him off.

“It’s my roommate’s quirk. She can make flowers bloom no matter the season or weather.” Touya said. “If you want to move in, then you’ll have to run it by her first. The apartment is in her name, as well as all the bills. We’ll split everything evenly between the four of us on the first of the month. She’s in charge of all the grocery shopping and cooking, so if there’s anything you specific you want to eat or snacks, just write it down for her.”

“Can’t I buy my own?”

“If you want.” He shrugs. “She only does it to give herself something to do.”

“You said we’d split the bills between the four of us. Who else do you live with?”

“Its me, poppy and Tenko.”

“Is that her name?”

“Nah.” He grins, his gaze softening at the thought of his roommate. “She won’t tell us her real name, so I just started calling her poppy cause those are her favorite.”

“Why not call her flower?” Bakugo asked.

“I... didn’t think of it.” Touya frowned. He led them into the lobby and into the elevator. Touya pressed the button for the fifth floor, his hands reaching for his phone and typing out a message. “Tenko never really leaves his room unless we’re doing roommate shit together. Other than that, you’ll probably never see him.” The doors slide open and the boys were met with a wood floor hallway and a single door that read E104. “He’s a gamer, so if you ever hear banging or the occasional rage screaming, just know it’s him losing his shit.”

Kirishima soaked in all the information Touya was throwing his way, nodding along and giving the random ‘okay’.

“What about the girl? What does she do?” Bakugo questioned.

“Dunno.” Bakugo stops inches from the door, his brows pinching together.

“How do you not know?”

“She’s pretty private. Tenko and I have tried, but she doesn’t like talking about herself at all. Whenever we try, she changes the subject or gives us some ridiculous answer.” Touya fishes out his keys, his face riddled with annoyance at the three of them being there. “She’s a nice girl, Bakugo. Red here will be safe and sound, living under our roof.”

Bakugo looks skeptical, but follows them inside anyway.

The inside of the apartment was huge. It was a four-bedroom loft with red brick walls, large glass windows that overlooked the mountains, and wood floors. The kitchen was full of stainless-steel appliances, black marble counter tops with an island to match and gray cabinets. A large gray sectional sat in the middle of the apartment and a sixty-five-inch tv with a mounted stand along the wall.

It was spacious, clean, and Kirishima loved it.

“Your room would be next to mine.” Touya hung his keys on a hook by the door. “Poppy would be next to you and Tenko has the room farthest from all of us, since he’s so damn loud.” He pointed to the right, where four doors lined the walls. “You, Tenko, and I will share a bathroom. Poppy gets her own, since she’s the only chick.”

He heads to the opposite side of the apartment and lightly knocks. A few seconds later, a tired eyed man with red eyes and pale blue hair peeks his head out. His skin was pale, with a small mole under the right side of his lip. He looks like he hasn’t seen the sun in years.

“What?” He yawns, his voice scratchy and dry.

“Come meet our potential new roommate.” Touya orders, forcing his door open and ignoring the man’s protests.

That must be Tenko...

Tenko throws himself onto the couch, yawning and roughly rubbing at his eyes. Kirishima watches Touya head to the side of the apartment with his room and hers. He knocked three times, steps back and shoves his hands in his pockets. The door swings open and Kirishima could hear the sound of a television playing.

“I have someone I want you to meet,” Touya said. “He’s looking for a new place to live and wants to move in by the end of the week.”

“Is he weird?” A sweet voice whispers.

Kirishima stiffens, his spine going rod straight.

He knows that voice...

“He’s best friends with Shoto. I’ve known him since he was a snot nose kid.”

“Sho’s friend?”

“Yeah. He’s-” Touya’s cerulean eyes glide over to the friend in question. “Nice.”

“Hero?”

“Unfortunately.”

“Can he follow the rules and pay his rent on time?” Touya looks over to him expectantly and Kirishima excitedly nods.

“Yeah.”

“Any pets or crazy ex-girlfriends I need to worry about?” Kirishima shakes his head no, Touyas gaze goes back to the girl Kirishima couldn’t see yet. “What does Tenko say?”

“Tenko wants to go back to bed,” Tenko groaned from the couch.

“So that’s a yes.” She giggles. “What about you?”

“I would love to say no but my baby brother is going out of his way to blackmail me so...” He trials off, annoyed. “I guess it’s fine.”

“Then it’s settled.” She chirps. “We have a new roomie!”

“Come out and meet him. Shoto and his other annoying friend are here too.” Touya huffed as he leaned against the wall. The soft padding of feet echoed from behind him as the girl heads into the living room where Kirishima was waiting.

She freezes next to Touya, her eyes going wide, and a surprised grin tugging on the corner of her lips.

“Well, if it isn’t the manliest hero.” You grin.

It was you...

The girl from the bar he couldn’t get out of his head since the first night he met you.

The two of you were going to be roommates.

And he couldn’t be more excited.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Chapter Text

It was surprising to see him here.

You never thought you’d meet the cute toothy red head again after that night at the bar.

The most you saw of him was on a billboard or the occasional live footage when he was fighting a villain. It was never anything you gave your full attention to, but you were always happy to see him. Of all the heroes you’ve seen, Red Riot has to be one of the best. He wasn’t your favorite, and you weren’t much of a fan girl, but you did know that if there was ever a hero you wanted in your corner, it would be him.

Plus, he was cute.

And his teeth….

You fuckin’ loved his teeth.

“How do you know him?” Touya asked, his brows pinched.

“Oh, we met a year ago!” Kirishima beamed. “My date stood me up- uh, well, I thought she did, but she was just late.”

“This was after my date had pushed me in the pool.” You add and Touya’s eye twitches. He remembers that night all too well. After you came home soaked to the bone and nearly freezing to death despite the jacket Kirishima given you to warm up earlier, Touya was livid when you told him why. He helped you warm up thanks to his quirk, ordered you your favorite take out, and watched a movie he would never willingly watch unless he knew it made you happy. The next day when he was nowhere to be seen, Tenko had told you that Touya went to teach your date some manners. A few hours later, you're getting a call from jail and Touya’s begging you to come bail him out. “Remember, T? The one you went to jail for?”

“Maybe don’t say that in front of my baby brother? The last thing I need is more shit for him to hold over my head.” Touya tilts his head with an annoyed expression. You laugh. “But yeah I remember.”

“Anyway, I sat on the stool next to him and-“

“She’s the one you wouldn’t stop talking about?” An ash blonde man gaped. “HER?”

“Yeah!” Kirishima nodded happily, his toothy smile giving you goosebumps. He meets your eye and steps closer to you. “I tried to find you, but you were gone so fast.”

“I didn’t feel like being a third wheel.” You shrug. “I got lucky catching a cab as soon as I walked out.”

“Still…” he trailed off and rubbed at the back of his neck. “I wanted to keep talking to you.”

You blink and Touya’s brows crease more and more as he stares at you and Kirishima.

“I’d like to change my answer.” Touya interrupted. From the couch, Tenko let out a cackle, his arm slung over his eyes and the other hanging limply off the edge.

“Request denied.” You answer. “He’s moving in.”

“Not so fast, lady.” The blonde stepped protectively in front of Kirishima, his face set in a scowl. “I gotta know more about you first before I let Ei live here.”

“And what would you like to know?” You meet blondie’s eye.

“Well, you can start with your name.”

“Poppy.”

“No, not your nickname. Your real name.” Your brow twitches and from the corner of your eye you can see Tenko sit up and Touya’s back straighten. They don’t know your real name. Ever since they moved in with you, they’ve been trying to learn your name. You never talked about yourself for good reasons. After a while of avoiding their questions, they finally gave in and let you be. You only let the smidge of information slip about your quirk and your favorite flower, but that was the only slip up you’ve had in six years.

“It’s poppy.” You answer. Touya’s shoulders sag and Tenko sighs, throwing himself back and covering his eyes again. “I have a job and money, and that’s all you need to know.”

“Poppy is a pretty name.” Kirishima adds. “It suits you.”

“Ei, you’re not living here.” Blondie’s jaw clenched. “I don’t trust her. If she won’t tell us her name, then she’s obviously hiding something.”

“Come on, Kats. She’s just private. That’s what Touya said.”

“Touya’s an idiot.”

“Hey!” Touya growled, Tenko snickered.

“Kats please.” Kirishima begged and blondie froze. “It’ll be okay, man. I’ll be okay. You don’t have to worry about me. I can take care of myself if anything happens.” Kirishima glances at you for a second. “We know Touya. He’s not so bad. I don’t think he’s the type to live with someone if they were bad, right?”

Blondie was quiet as he stared back at his friend. His fists were clenched, and his jaw was tight. It became clear to you that these two were close friends and you could understand his hesitation towards you.

Oh hell…

It’s just a name.

HE can’t find you if you tell them your first name in private like this, right?

It should be okay.

You hope…

Luckily you didn’t follow through thanks to blondie letting out a defeated sigh and reluctantly agreeing to trust Kirishima.

“We’ll take care of him.” You promise. “And you can come by anytime you want.”

“Yeah whatever.” He grunts as he steps out of the way and behind Kirishima.

“So this will be your room.” You say as you let Kirishima into his new room. “You’re between me and Touya. Tenko and Touya will be sharing a bathroom with you. If it’s ever an emergency, you can use my bathroom, but just make sure I can’t tell you were in there.” You stand in the middle of room and rest your hands on your hips. “Rent is due on the first of the month. You’ll have a designated shelf in the fridge for your food. Trash day is on Tuesday. We switch taking the trash so this week it’ll be my turn but after that it’s Tenko and then Touya and you’ll be next. I do everyone’s laundry on Sundays, so make sure to have your hamper out before you leave for the day.”

“I can do my laundry.” Kirishima chuckles. “And do my cooking and grocery shopping. I know I don’t look it, but I can do little things like that.”

“If that’s what you want, then that’s fine. Just know I’m more than happy to do it.” You smile. “I get bored very easily, so taking on a majority of the chores helps.”

“I’ll help out anyway I can! I’d feel bad letting you do all the housework. You can count on me to carry my weight around here.”

“Make yourself at home, Kirishima. Let us know what day you’re moving in and the three of us can help you out.”

“Any rules he should know about?” Blondie asked, his arms crossed.

“Right. You can have a pet, but the rent does go up a bit. You can have guests, like friends, family, or a significant other over. They just have to clean up after themselves and not start any shit.” You let out a deep sigh, racking your brain. “Oh, if you plan on having sex anytime soon, you aren’t doing it here. Either go to their place or get a hotel. You can thank Touya for that one.”

“It was one time!” He yells from the living room.

“Once was enough!” You shake your head with a grin. “He brought a girl here about two years ago, and I can still hear the nightmarish things she was saying. After that, poor Tenko and I were traumatized.” The memories of that night make you shudder. “So yeah, no sex. At this point, it’s just out of respect for everyone who lives here. Oh, and no drugs or smoking. If I ever find out you have, then your ass is gone, got it?”

“Yes, ma’am.” Kirishima nods. “Thank you for this. I really am grateful.”

“It’s not a problem.” You exit the room, ignoring the daggers blondie was staring you down with. Touya was resting on the couch with Todoroki and Tenko. “I’ll give you my num-“

“He can have mine.” Touya interrupted, as he jumped to his feet. “Just text me when you’re all packed and ready to go. If poppy and I aren’t around when you are, Tenko can let you in since he never leaves the house.”

“I leave the house.” Tenko yawns.

“Like once a month.”

“Still technically leaving.” Tenko waved him off. You watched as Touya gave his number to Kirishima while blondie couldn’t stop glaring at you. He obviously doesn’t like nor trust you. It didn’t bother you none, but if Kirishima was going to be living here, then you had to do something to get him off your back. You head over to him while Touya and Kirishima started talking.

“I know-“

“He met you for ten minutes.” Blondie said. “You were all he would talk about for months after that. It was damn annoying. Said you two had a spark and that he just had to find you.”

You felt heat rush to your cheeks as that night played in your head. It was brief, but you felt it too. He was cute and a gentleman to you. It was easy to talk to him, fun. Had that girl not shown up, then who knows how the rest of the night could have gone? The giddy feeling that bubbled in your chest when he looked at you. His ruby eyes and the hint of cinnamon coming off of his skin. Kirishima was all you could think about for a while too.

Well… him and Touya.

With Touya, it hit you out of nowhere. One day you woke up and suddenly Touya wasn’t just Touya anymore.

He was handsome and funny and a bigger bitch than you can be sometimes. He always had a way of making you feel better when you were down. You had fun with him. He’s the only one who can always tell exactly what you need without saying it. You were happy when he let you close to him, after all the effort you put into keeping him away.

But that wasn’t something you could ever admit to either of them.

As long as you all lived together, then any chance of a relationship would be off limits.

For one thing, it always gets messy dating roommates, and you didn’t want to ruin that.

Then the other… well, that was a wall you weren’t ready to break down yet.

“I don’t like you,” Blondie admits, and you’re not really surprised. “If anything happens to him, I promise you I will make your life a living hell.”

“He’ll be fine.” You reassure him with the sweetest smile you can muster. “I hope you and I can be friends one day.”

He rolls his eyes and stomps out the door.

“Eijirou! Let’s go!” And then he’s gone with Todoroki following with him.

“I uh-“ a shadow loomed over you and you turn to see Kirishima towering over you with a grin. “I’ll see you soon.”

“I’ll see you soon.” He waved goodbye, thanking the three of you one more time before softly closing the door behind him.

You slump down on the couch next to Touya and Tenko with a giggle. Dragging Tenko legs onto your lap, you rest your head on Touya’s shoulder and switch on the TV.

“What are you giggling for?” Touya huffed as he leaned his cheek onto your head.

“Nothing.” You hum, happy. “Just got a good feeling.”

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Chapter Text

You couldn’t stop staring.

Kirishima was moving in today with the help of you and his blonde friend who hasn’t warmed up to you at all. He said his other friends wanted to help, but they were stuck on patrol or in meetings. So it was just you, Kirishima and Blondie. Touya’s at the shop and Tenko said he’d help but he really didn’t want to, so he’s holed up in his room getting ready to stream.

The weather was a little on the colder side today. It was cold enough to sport a long sleeve and pants.

So why in the hell was Kirishima out here in basketball shorts and a tank top that left little to the imagination?

This man was a hulking 6’6 and pure, thick muscle with abs so defined you can see the outlines through his shirt. He’s lifting all his furniture like it weighed nothing. Sweat coated his forehead and biceps. A white bandana pushed his hair back, revealing a hint of a scar over his right eyebrow. You can see the cords in his arms every time he picked up a box and the way the muscles in his thighs flexed when he squatted down.

Then there was that toothy smile of his every time he looked at you. Ever since he pulled up in the moving van, you’ve tried to offer to help, but he politely declined. He told you to let him handle everything and then shoot you that smile that you can’t seem to get enough of. It was always so warm and inviting and kind. That night you first met him, it was his smile that won you over.

You liked it.

“That’s everything, Ei.” Blondie called from the truck as he locked the back.

“Thanks for all your help, man.” Kirishima said, his arms full with his last box labeled ‘weights’. “I really appreciate it.” Blondie nodded; his arms crossed over his chest. He had a scowl on his face that didn’t reach his eyes. In his gaze, you could see the look of admiration and love for his friend. If you had to guess Kirishima must be his best friend.

“It’s whatever. Couldn’t let you do this all on your own. Deku wouldn’t let me hear the end of it if I did.”

“Do you want to come up?” You ask him, trying your best to be polite. “I can fix us-”

“No.” Blondie declined and turned his back to you. You bite your tongue, force a smile and turn on your heel past Kirishima.

“Kats don’t be rude.” Kirishima scolded as he gave you an apologetic smile. “Sorry about him. He’s really not that bad once you get to know him.”

“As if I’d let some extra get to know me when she won’t even tell us her name.” Blondie huffed and headed to the driver's seat of the truck. “I’m taking this back to the lot and heading home. Text me if you need anything.”

Wow... he does NOT like you at all.

You and Kirishima stood at the entrance of the apartment in an awkward silence as you watch blondie drive away.

“Uh- are you hungry?” you ask, hoping to lighten the mood. “I could make lunch and after I can help you set up your room.”

“How about I treat you to lunch?” He offered with a toothy smile. “I was thinking Japanese BBQ.”

A smile of your own tugged at your lips at the suggestion. The night you met replayed in your mind, the conversation still fresh, as if it had happened yesterday.

“Unlimited?” You grin.

“Until our stomachs hurt.”

“Well, how can I possibly say no to that?”

“Cool! Let’s- oh wait.” He rubs a hand on the back of his neck. “I should shower first.”

You nod, giggling when you realize that he’s coated in sweat and wearing workout clothes. Neither of you were dressed to go eat anywhere. The two of you make the way back up to the apartment in a comfortable silence. When you step back into your loft, you can already hear Tenko starting his stream for the day.

“Just give me, like, twenty minutes.” Kirishima disappears into the bathroom after rummaging around through some of his moving boxes to find himself a pair of clothes.

You decided to change into a nicer outfit than the one you had on to help him move in. It was just lunch, but you still wanted to look good. You fixed your hair, applied some makeup, and sprayed your favorite perfume. Gathering your purse and your phone, you decide to wait in the living room until he was ready.

Twenty minutes later, and Kirishima stepped out of the bathroom followed by a giant cloud of steam. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a red t-shirt that once again left little to the imagination. His hair was still damp and instead of having it spiked like he usually did; it was down and framing his face. You like seeing his hair down, especially now that you can see the hint of black at the roots.

“Are you not a natural redhead?” You question.

“Ah no. I started dying my hair when I got into UA. It was to pay homage to my favorite hero.” He gave you a sheepish grin. “I’ve been meaning to touch up my roots, but things have been a little hectic.”

“I can help you.” You stand, craning your head up to meet his eye. “I help Touya with his hair all the time.”

“I... I’d like that.” He smirks. “Are you ready?”

You lead the way back to the door, Kirishima following close behind. His cologne smelled amazing, a hint of amber and spice filling the air. Your hand was inches from the handle when the door swung open and you were face to chest with Touya.

“You’re home early.” You say as you blink up in surprise. His hand reaches up to ruffle your hair, his gaze warm and a soft smile on his face. “Welcome home.”

“It was a slow, so Stain said I could head out for the day.” Touya threw his keys onto the counter as he meets Kirishima’s eye. “All moved in?”

“Yeah! I just have to unpack.” Touya nods and slowly starts to take in yours and Kirishima’s appearance. “We were just about to go eat. Wanna join us?” Touya quirks a brow, the corner of his lip twitching.

“Abso-fuckin-lutely.” He agrees through gritted teeth and you couldn’t help but chuckle. Touya hates going out to eat. He said he’d rather have your cooking than some takeout crap. “What about Tenko?”

“He started his stream already.” You shrug. “We can stop and grab him food after we eat.”

The three of you head out and follow Kirishimas lead to the restaurant.

“So um- how long have you guys lived together?” Kirishima asked.

“About six years.” Touya said, as he shoved his hands into his pockets. “I had just moved out of my dad’s place and her ad was the first one I landed on. She interviewed me and we’ve been living together ever since.”

“And what about Tenko?”

“He’s been my friend since we were kids. His grandma and my dad would work together sometimes so he’d hangout with me. The three of us have been inseparable for years.”

“The three of you?”

“Yeah. Me, Tenko and Keigo.”

“Keigo?”

“You probably know him as Hawks.” Touya rolled his eyes, annoyed. Keigo has stopped by the loft once a week for the last six years. He’s one of your favorite people and you consider him and Tenko to be like brothers to you. Touya, Keigo and Tenko were close, and you always loved when you had the chance to have them in the same room together.

“You’re best friends with Hawks?! No way!” Kirishima gushed. “I haven’t had a chance to meet him, but my friend Deku said he’s super cool.”

“He’s alright.” Touya huffed, but you knew he didn’t mean it. Touya would do anything for Keigo, and Keigo would do anything for him. “Anyway, Tenko came to live with us when he moved out of his parent’s place. His dad wasn’t too excited to find out his only son wanted to be a professional gamer instead of a hero, but he supports him either way. His family stops by to say hi every once in a while, so expect for them to just show up at some point.”

“And who was the last guy who lived with you? I think you said his name was Jin?”

“Another friend of mine. He was only here for a year or two until he met Hina.”

“Hina is his girlfriend.” You add, wanting to be a part of the conversation. “He lives with her now.”

“Aw.” Kirishima coos. “I hope I get to meet him.”

“You will. A lot of their friends stop by. You’ll meet all of them soon.”

“And what about you?” Kirishima glances at you. “Do your friends stop by?”

“As long as I’ve lived there, I haven’t seen a single person visit her.” Touya answers for you and you elbow him in the side. “You might want to keep this in mind, Red, but Poppy here doesn’t share much about her life. It took me years just to figure out her favorite food.”

A brief wave of guilt washed over you, but you forced it away.

The less they know, the better.

“That’s okay!” Kirishima chirps. “Everyone deserves their privacy. I’m sure she’ll open up to us when she’s ready.”

Touya stops in his tracks, his brows pinched and lips parted.

“Did you miss the part when I just said that it took me YEARS just to find out her favorite food?”

“I mean, sure, it took a while, but it doesn’t sound impossible to learn.” Kirishima said. “I bet one day she’ll trust us enough to tell us her name.”

You and Touya stare back at him. You with surprise at his confidence and Touya with confused annoyance at the same thing. It was sweet of him to be so optimistic, but you don’t see that happening anytime soon.

Not when you had everything to lose.

Not when your past could find you after everything you’ve done to hide from it.

“You’re sweet.” You hum. “Thank you for respecting my privacy, Kirishima.”

“Yeah- real nice guy,” Touya grumbles with a roll of his eyes. “Where the hell are we going?’

“Oh, it’s right around the corner.” Kirishima picks up his pace and stops, glancing back at you. He moves to the side so his body is closest to the street and you were in the middle between him and Touya. “Sorry. I wasn’t paying attention.” You tilt your head in confusion and look to Touya for an answer, but he only shrugs. “You know- the sidewalk rule.”

“The what?”

“The sidewalk rule. My mom taught me that it’s to protect you from traffic and any other dangerous stuff that could happen.”

“Oh my god.” Touya groans as he runs a hand down his face. “You’ve got to be kidding-”

“That is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard!” You gasp with a face splitting smile and Touya’s jaw drops. “That’s like, real chivalry.”

Kirishima preened at your compliment, his chest puffing out in pride. Touya looked like he was ready to gag, but you were on cloud nine.

It hasn’t even been a day and you can tell that living with Kirishima was going to be interesting.

And you couldn’t wait to see what happens next.

Chapter Text

Kirishima took a few months to get situated in the loft. It was a little tricky at first, but once he learned everyone’s schedule and their habits, he finally felt like he belonged there. He paid attention to everything, going above and beyond to be the best roommate he could be.

He and Tenko were close, which surprised you. The second they found out they liked a bunch of the same games, the two of them bonded faster than you expected. There would be times when Kirishima would even participate in his streams, which had Tenkos subscribers shoot up in numbers. Everyone wanted to see their favorite streamer playing with a pro hero. Kirishima even managed to get his other hero friends to join when their schedules aligned. Denki and Mina were the more frequent ones.

Mina liked you a lot and was trying everything in her power to be your best friend. Denki also liked you and would hit on you every chance he got. In fact, most of Kirishimas friends loved you.

Except Blondie... He still hated you with a passion of a thousand suns. You had tried and tried to get on his good side, tried to get him to be at least a little friendlier to you.

And you failed every single time. After a while, you decided to give up and just smile and wave whenever he was in the room. You can’t get everyone to like you, which you were fine with.

But you can tell Kirishima and Touya DID NOT like his constant disrespect towards you. From what Tenko had told you, Kirishima had tried to bring it up nicely to Blondie, but Touya was more heated and angrier during the conversation. Tenko said it didn’t end well.

So now Blondie doesn’t come over anymore.

Keigo loves Kirishima. Although that wasn’t surprising since Keigo pretty much gets along with everyone but you figured that would happen. You set two likeable, easy going guys into the same room together and the results add up to two new best friends. Keigo liked him enough to set up more team up missions with Kirishima. You knew they would get along, but for them to team up at work and constantly make plans together? Now that surprised you.

Touya took a hot minute to get used to Kirishima being around. You wouldn’t say they were best friends are anything, but they did seem to get along better. It was a little rocky at first. Kirishima is very happy-go-lucky positive and then there’s Touya who hates the sun and the sound of people breathing. While Kirishima was sweet and kind, Touya was still his prickly rude self. Their personalities clashed, which was to be expected. Luckily, after enough time together during movie and game nights and the dinners you went a little overboard making, they finally got closer to becoming semi friends.

It was better than nothing, but you were happy.

Now when it came to you…

Kirishima loved spending whatever free time he had with you.

If he wasn’t working or with Tenko or his old classmates, Kirishima was right by your side.

He shared the chores with you. If you were doing laundry, then so was he. If you were cooking, he was cooking. The one day out of the week when you deep cleaned the loft, Kirishima was up and ready to help. When you went shopping, he’d tag along. If there was a movie, you wanted to see that Touya and Tenko would never watch, Kirishima would sit next to you with a large bucket of popcorn and a box of your favorite candy. He watched you a lot, talked to you a lot. Any opportunity that presented itself for him to touch you, he’d take full advantage and make it count.

Kirishima was sweet, kind, strong....

And you were totally fucked.

Cause now you were the idiot who fell for TWO of your roommates.

Who could really blame you?

They were amazing. Two out of this world men who you loved being with. They evened each other out with their personalities. With Touya, you get the rough around the edges, tough love and then Kirishima is tooth rotting sweet who would be at your beck and call day and night. You were comfortable when you were in the same room with them. There isn’t anything you wouldn’t do for them and them for you.

But you could never act on it.

Not when your life was way too complicated.

Especially not with all of you living under the same roof together.

So you can settle for being friends and roommates.

That was enough for you.

It had to be...

You had just finished separating the clean clothes when your phone dinged.

Kiri: I finished patrol early! Since it’s my Friday, would you wanna grab a drink?

Poppy: Sure! Should I meet you somewhere?

Kiri: A new place opened up close to the agency. Mina says it’s good! I’ll send the address!

Poppy: Okie dokie!

Kiri: I’ll invite Touya and Tenko right now! See you soon!

You smile down at your phone.

He’s so cute.

You left the clean clothes out and unfolded and quickly got ready for the night. It was only you and the guys, but you a part of you still wanted to look good. Simple makeup, some pretty jewelry, a nice spritz of perfume and an outfit that you could risk getting messy in.

The bar was only a few blocks away, so you could easily walk there. You grab your purse, lock up the house and head down to meet your roommates. The bright city lights lit your path as you made your way through the bustling crowd. You wondered if Touya and Tenko would actually go. They weren’t too big about crowded, loud places. They were both homebody’s who liked their space. It was rare you could get them to go out anywhere.

You hoped they did tonight. It would be nice to drink and have some fun with everyone. If they came maybe, you could even convince them to go to karaoke.

There was a line by the time you arrived at the bar. You sent a text to Kirishima that you were waiting to get in when you saw a familiar mop of raven hair.

“Touya!” you call as you rush over to him. He had on his usual black attire, which didn’t surprise you. What did surprise you was the whiff of cologne he had on. Touya never wore cologne. You never knew why he didn’t, so you always assumed he just didn’t like it. Whatever he was wearing, though? It smelled amazing. Usually, he just smelled like a campfire and roasted marshmallows.

His cerulean eyes met yours, his icy glare warming at the sight of you. He wedged you into line with him and held you close, blocking you from everyone that bumped into him as the line moved.

“Is Tenko here?” You ask.

“He’s gonna be a little late. Said his sister wanted his help to set up her new switch.” He shrugs. “But knowing him, he’ll probably flake on us. This place isn’t really his scene.”

“It’s not yours either.”

“Yeah, well, I wasn’t going to come either, but Red seemed pretty fuckin’ insistent we all come.” Touya rolls his eyes, you giggle. The line slowly crawls to the front, Touya’s grip on you never once loosening. “He could have picked somewhere less crowded.”

“I think it’ll be fun once we get inside.” You hum, leaning into his touch. He was so warm...

“You, uh-” He clears his throat, his hand running up and down your arm. “You look nice.”

“Do I?” You lean your head back to look him in the face and quirk your brow. “You don’t look so bad yourself, hot stuff.”

“Stop.” He lets out a flustered scoff, a grin tugging at the corner of his lips. As long as you’ve known him, Touya could never handle it when you teased or flirted with him. He would hide it well, but you can tell it flustered him like crazy when you did. You found it odd considering you’ve heard his past dates say much, much worse, and he’s never so much as batted an eye. “You’re so annoying.”

“Aw come on, T.” You giggle. “I’m only playin’.”

Touya pushes you to the front of the line where a woman dressed in rainbow spandex asked how many people were in your party. You told her you had two more people joining and their names before she gave you and Touya wristbands before letting you in.

The bar was, in fact, not a bar.

It was a club. A very colorful, loud and fun night club.

Large ice cream cones, cotton candy clouds and a mirror disco ball hung from the ceiling. Rainbow bouncing balls, glitter and foam covered the ground. Some people wore neon paint and glow stick jewelry, while others wore outlandish costumes. Very early pop music blasted through the speakers as a constant spray of confetti fell from the sky. Everyone was dancing, laughing, and having one hell of a time.

You loved it.

“Oh hell no!” Touya snapped as he turned on his heel and tried to leave. You quickly grabbed him by the elbow and dragged him to the bar that looked like a gigantic ice cream truck. The bartenders wore go-go dancer outfits, and the servers wore sexy bunny costumes. “Seriously, what the fuck is this?”

“I like it!” You laugh as savor the mortified expression on Touyas face.

Yeah... this was definitely not his scene.

“Red didn’t say anything about this being a club!” He hissed. “It’s like I walked into a damn rainbow unicorn nightmare!”

“What can I get you two today?” A girl name Dot asked, her skin sparkly and blue. “I suggest starting off with our rainbow shots!” You excitedly nodded while Touya shook his head no. She shot you a bright smile before working on your drinks.

You took in the rest of the club, already feeling the beat of the music moving your hips. Touya ripped his phone from his pockets and pressed his phone to his ear.

“I should light your ass on fire!” Touya snarled, and you just knew he was on the phone with Kirishima. “Did you know this was a club?! And not just any club, NO! It’s some kind of bubblegum wonderland! I can’t- you knew?! What do- Mina told you?! And you still invited us here?!” Touya was fuming, his nostrils flared as he glanced at you. “She’s loving it! She already got us shots... What? No, I’m not- I’m not getting you shit! We’re not- you’re here?”

Kirishima caught your eye from the doorway, his smiling growing as he hung up the phone and headed over to you and Touya.

“This place is so cool!” You gush as Kirishima brings you in for a giant bear hug. His hair was down, still freshly wet from the shower. You could smell his cologne; the same one you told him you loved when you went to all you can eat BBQ when he first moved in. “I love it!”

“I thought you might!” He beams as he takes a seat at the bar and drags a reluctant Touya down with him. “Mina came here on opening night with a bunch of our old classmates and said she had the best night of her life.”

“And you thought bringing us here would be a good idea because?” Touya snapped.

“It sounded fun.” Kirishima shrugged as he looked out into the crowd. “Mina said they have a mechanical bull, bungee jumping and a pool further in. I guess this is the largest nightclub in Musutafu right now. They even have a costume rental here. That explains why so many people are dressed up.”

Dot returned with your shots and even had an extra ready for Kirishima. She winked at you before starting on another set of drinks for other customers. You handed a drink to each of the boys and raised the small glass in the air. Kirishima was pumped and already bouncing to the beat of the music with you while Touya begrudgingly accepted his fate.

“To one hell of a night!”

Notes:

Ill try to post to this fic a little more. Why Him is almost finished so I thought I could give this one some more love.

I also had an angsty, SAD solo fic for Touya that I've been thinking about. It would be my first fic that would have a bitter sweet ending. I want to write it but I don't have the strength to do it just yet lol

Thank you for reading <3

Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Chapter Text

“Oh my god what is this and how can I replace my blood with it?” You gasp after taking a sip of a drink that you told Dot to surprise you with.

She had been very attentive to you ever since you sat at the bar. For the last hour and a half, she’s refreshed your drinks with something new, each one sweeter and tastier than the last. Kirishima and Touya were trying to keep up with you but Touya tapped out after he realized they only had fruity drinks. Now he was the designated sober friend to make sure you and Kirishima got home in one piece. Kirishima shared your enthusiasm trying the same drinks as you but after the last gummy bear cocktail he decided that he would spend the rest of the night drinking an Adios. Dot gave him a worried look but shook it off when she took in the size of him.

“That one is called pineapple and dopamine. It’s one of my favorites.” She smiled with her hands spread out across the bar.

“Kiri!” You smile, taking another a sip before passing it over to him. “Try this!” Kirishima happily grabbed your drink, sipped and raised a pleased brow. “It’s good, right?”

“Yeah.” He takes one more sip and hands it back to you. “Can I get one too? Should probably switch it up a bit cause this is a lot stronger than I thought it was going to be.” His face was flushed, his eyes a little glossy.

Dot chuckled and quickly got to work on his drink. You were having a great time. The drinks were good, the music was great and the vibe of this entire club was lively. Everyone was having the time of their lives.

“I’ll be right back.” Touya leaned over to talk in your ear. “Tenko is here.” He tapped Kirishima on the shoulder to get his attention. “Watch her. Do NOT let her out of your sight.”

“I don’t need a babysitter!” You laugh.

“Yeah, you do.” He grins. “Cause you’re a magnet for trouble.”

“Whaattt.” You drawl, feigning innocence. “I have no clue what you mean.”

“Uh huh.” Touya rolls his eyes. “Let’s not forget what happened the last time you went out drinking.”

“What happened?” Kirishima asked as he turned in his chair to face you. He locked onto you and you can tell that he’s taking what Touya asked seriously. Touya disappeared into the crowd, cursing and pushing everyone that bumped into him or who didn’t get out of his way. You sipped your drink and rested your cheek in your hand.

“Touya and Tenko don’t really come to places like this. If they do, it’s usually forced for a special occasion. One time they did, it was a going away party for Jin. We all went to this bar that Tenkos’ friend owns. There was all this food and games set up for us in a private booth. It was fun. I had a few drinks and right as I was ordering another, this dude comes up to me and tries to grab me.” Kirishimas gaze darkens for a second, the muscles in his jaw flexing. “He tried to say that someone bumped into him and I let it slide. Then it happened again.”

“So here I am, my buzz ruined and my mood sour, right? I’m ready to bitch this guy out when once again he grabs me and tries to ask me out! And to make it worse, he wasn’t there alone. His girlfriend shows up at the worst possible moment and snatches me by the hair.” Kirishimas jaw drops. “She called me a bunch of names and tries to kick my ass right then and there. Next thing I know, me and her are in a cat fight. I’m crying cause she just ripped out some of my hair and she’s bleeding all over the bar cause I broke her nose.”

“You broke her nose?!”

“I sure did!” You giggle. “I wasn’t just gonna sit there and get the shit kicked out of me. I fought back! Usually I’m not one for violence, but when you’re backed into a corner than I think it’s necessary.”

“So what happened next?”

“Oh, the boyfriend got one good shot in before Touya showed up with Keigo, Spinner, and Jin. After that, all hell broke loose. Keigo tried to mediate everything, but once Touya saw that dick hit me, you can guess what happened next.”

“That doesn’t really seem like you started up the trouble.” Kirishima sipped at his drink again and you did the same. “You were defending yourself.”

“Oh well, that was just one time. Touya is right. Wherever I go, trouble always finds me. Fender benders that got out of hand, people picking fights when I’m just trying to mind my own business or bad dates that result in me calling Touya to pick me up after I snuck out through the bathroom window. It happens A LOT.”

The song changes, the lights changing from pink to blue.

“I’m sorry.” Kirishima places a hand on your thigh, a shot of electricity shooting through your body. His hand was hot, rough. “That guy and his girlfriend were totally unmanly. I promise I won’t let anyone lay a hand on you while I’m around.”

You stare back at him, surprised.

“You know,” you throw back your drink, heat pricking at your cheeks. “That’s the thing I really like about you, Red. You’re so… real. The way you act, how you talk. Everything you say and do is just so genuine. I’ve never met anyone like that before. Most guys I’ve met are jerks. Beside Touya, Tenko and Kei, I’ve never felt so safe with anyone else. You’re just so- so- god what’s the word I’m thinking of?” Kirishimas face was beet red, his lips parted and his hand tightening around your thigh. You blink as a soft smile spreads across your face. “Manly.”

“Y-you think I’m manly?” He stutters, his face as red as his hair. “I don’t- you- god.” He wipes a hand down his face to try to wipe away his blush. “Th-thanks.”

You rest your hand over his and watch as his composure slips more and more. The music slowed, the lights dimming and the mood changing. A slow song, one of your favorites, begins to play.

“Do you wanna dance?” You ask, he blinks.

“You wanna dance? With me?”

“You’re the only one I wanna dance with.” You admit. “Touya hates dancing and Tenko would rather eat glass than step on the floor. Plus, I figured a slow dance might be more your pace. I can dance to the crazy stuff after.”

Kirishima glances at the floor where people were coupling up, their bodies pressed together and swaying to the beat of the song. He swallows thickly, his hand a little damp as he downs the rest of his drink and guides you to the dance floor. He was nervous, that much was obvious. You just didn’t know why.

It was just you.

Kirishima takes you the middle of the dance floor and rests both his hands around your waist as you wrap your arms around his neck. Slowly, step by step, Kirishima leads you to the music.

“Can I ask you something?” Kirishima asks. “About the night we met?”

“Ask away.” You hum as you meet his eyes.

God... what a beautiful ruby red.

“When I asked you your name, what were you going to say?” You averted your gaze to the surrounding crowd. Truth be told, you wanted to tell him your name, wanted at least one person in the world to know who you really were. That night, you figured the odds of you seeing him again were slim to none. You thought it would be okay to tell a stranger. The long islands you drank way too fast encouraged your reckless decision. If his date hadn’t of shown up, Kirishima would know your name.

“I thought I would never see you again.” You admit. “So I- I wanted to tell you my real name. I was going to, but then, ya know.”

“Why can’t we know?” Kirishima guides your chin up to look at him. You try to find the right words.

How much are you really allowed to say?

“I hate the name I was given. That’s all.” You shrug. It wasn’t the complete truth, but not much of a lie, either. You did hate the name they gave to you. “Plus, I like what you guys call me now. It’s pretty.”

Kirishima was quiet, his eyes scanning over your face.

“I want to know you.” He whispers, your heart fluttering at how tender his voice was. “Touya and Tenko too.”

“I know.” You mumble, hiding your face in his chest. You can’t look at him anymore. If you did, if you stared a second longer into those puppy dog eyes of his, you’d probably cave.

But you can’t...

It’s against the rules.

“One day I hope you’ll feel safe enough to talk to us.” His cheek rests on the top of your head, his arms pulling you in tighter to him. “We’d be happy to listen.”

“I know.” You repeat.

You knew they’d listen.

You just couldn’t speak.

“Move it, Red.” Touya’s voice broke through the music, both you and Kirishima jerking away from each other flustered and shy. “It’s my turn.”

It took you a second to process what he said as you blink away your confusion.

“What?” You squeak right when Kirishima gently pushed you into Touya’s arms. From the corner of your eye you can see Tenko waving from the bar where Kirishima quickly joined him. Touya’s hands were hot as he gripped you tightly by the hips and pressed you tight against his body. “What are you doing?”

“Dancing?” He smirks.

“No, I can see that.” You giggle. “But you hate dancing.”

“I don’t hate it. I just didn’t want to.”

“But you’ve never wanted to dance when we’ve gone out.”

“Yeah, well, I wanted to today.” His hands grew hotter and you can see the tips of his ears brighten to a pretty pink. Touya’s cologne invaded your senses, his warmth putting you at ease. Between him and Kirishima, you’d be a puddle by the end of the night. “Poppy?”

“Hm?” Your eyes fluttered closed as you rest your head over his heart.

“You look nice.”

“You’ve said that already.”

“No, I mean- fuck- poppy, look at me.” You do, your breath hitching in your throat. In the club’s lights, his cerulean eyes glowed. It was mesmerizing. His fingers gingerly dragged up your waist, goosebumps pricking up on your flesh at the feeling. Carefully, as if he was afraid you’d break, he cupped your cheeks. His thumb glided across your bottom lip and you felt your legs turn to Jello.

What the hell is he doing?!

“Touya?” Your voice was pitched, barely above a whisper.

“You look fuckin’ beautiful.” He took a breath while all of yours was knocked out of you. “All this soft crap is what you like, right? The heart and flowers type shit?”

You didn’t know what to say, what to do.

Touya has never been like this to you before.

NEVER...

“I see how you get when Red does it. You get all happy and cute when he opens the door for you. Hell, you giggle like a fuckin’ school girl when he so much as gives you a compliment.” Touya rested his forehead against yours and you were positive that if he wasn’t holding you right now, you’d probably fall. “If that’s what you like, then I can do it too. I can’t promise I’ll be good at it like Red is, but I’ll try for you. Just... Can you look at me the way you look at him?”

Oh...

Oh, you get it now.

“Touya?” You call your voice low even as the music changed, and the bass deafened everyone on the floor. He couldn’t hear you, no one could. “I already do.”

Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Chapter Text

Six years ago...

This was his last stop.

If this apartment doesn’t work out, then Touya is gonna have to see if Stain would let him crash at his place for a while longer. He had barely turned eighteen a few days ago, but Touya was desperate to be out of the house. The faster he got away from his asshole dad, the better. To be free from Enji’s constant disappointment at him for not being a hero felt like a weight taken off his back. Touya didn’t have to feel the anxiety of being ignored or scrutinized for things he was actually passionate about. He was free.

Now all he had to do was find his own place to live and stop mooching off Stain. The man was a hard ass and one tough son of a bitch, but he was always more than willing to help Touya. He saw Touya as the son he never had. They had a heart to heart the day Touya crashed at his place. Their conversation set Touya’s loyalty to the man in stone.

He owed his life to the man.

Without him Touya would probably be dead or some low rank villain.

Touya forced himself out of his head the second he saw the building addressed in the ad. A brick building tucked away from the pubic that had a decent view of Seiko Peak.

It looked empty, abandoned…

There wasn’t an entrance facing the street, but Touya could see a trail of cobblestones that led behind the building. He followed the broken path, unease creeping up on him. What if this was some kind of setup? It’s like a false ad to lure desperate losers looking for a roof and kidnapping them to harvest their organs. Sure, Touya could easily defend himself, but he’d be in trouble if they ambushed him before he could fight back.

Right as he turned the corner, his unease melted away. A lush flower garden covered the entire courtyard. Freshly bloomed flowers, each different and out of season, filled the garden. He was positive most of them only grew in certain regions of the world.

“Must be someone’s quirk.” He mutters, uninterested. They were nice and all but Touya couldn't care less about some flowers. Touya pulls the ad he cut out from the paper and reads it over. “Apartment E104.”

Touya made his way into the building with his guard up. He wasn’t in the clear yet. Anything could happen between now and the interview.

So now as he stands in front of what could be his future home, Touya takes a deep breath and knocks. He tries to fix himself up a bit as he waits for someone to answer. Stain said first impressions are everything and if he wants to live here, then he should attempt to make himself seem like a decent guy, even if this ad was shady as hell.

One by one Touya hears, one, two, three, FOUR locks being undone before the door slowly opens.

You barely crack open the door, your eye peeking between the tiny gap.

“Yes?” You squeak. “Can I help you?”

“Uh yeah?” Touya holds up the ad he was beginning to regret answering. “Says here you have a room available.”

Your whole mood shifted. The door swung open, and you grabbed his hand, dragging him into the loft with a sweet giggle. It was fairly empty, but clean. From what he could see, all you had was a small couch and an old school TV that he knows was out of production. He could smell something baking in the kitchen, probably cookies. A tiny table, so tiny it could only fit a single person, sat behind the couch. It looks like you were in the middle of eating lunch.

“How exciting!” You bounce on the heel of your feet and give him a smile that had his chest feeling funny. “You’re the first person to show up. I’ve had that ad up since I moved in.”

“Are you-” He scans the paper for a name and frowns. “There’s no name.”

“Oh, I didn’t put it. The people at the ad office said I can be anonymous.” You chirp. “It’s not important, anyway. Do you want to pick out your room?”

“My room?” He asks, confused. “Don’t- I mean, shouldn’t you ask me questions first?”

“Questions?” You tilt your head like a confused puppy.

“Yeah... Like, I don’t know, ask me about my job or if I have pets- stuff like that.” He can’t believe he has to be the one to tell you that. Shouldn’t you know this? You weren’t really about to let some stranger move in without at least knowing their name, were you?

“Oh.” You glance around the room and softly bite into your bottom lip. “Do you have a job?”

“Don’t just repeat what I said!” He scolds, you jump. “Look up questions on your phone or something.”

“I uh- I don’t have a phone.” You admit.

“You don’t have a phone?”

“No. I didn’t need one.”

“How do you get a hold of people? Hell, what if your job tries to call you?” Touya watches as you slowly grow more and more uncomfortable at his questions. You were avoiding his eye, glancing off in every direction than at him. “God- okay wait.” Touya fishes out his phone from his pocket, does a quick search and hands you his phone. He guides you over to the couch and has you sit with him. “Read those.”

“Okay.” You frown as you stare at the phone. “How does it work?”

“The phone?” Is this real? Why are you acting like you’ve never seen a smartphone before? Touya can’t snap on you again. He’s gotta play nice if he- Eh then again, he doesn’t think his attitude matters. You were ready to let him pick out a room before he opened his mouth about the questions. Still, Touya mustered up all his patience and showed you how to use his phone. “See? It’s easy. Now-” He leans back and crosses his arms over his chest. “Read away.”

You nod and purse out your bottom lip.

“Do you have any pets or plans to get any pets?”

“No.”

“How often do you clean your place?”

“I don’t. Stain does all the cleaning since he likes things done a certain way.” He answers honestly. “But I know how to clean up after myself, so don’t expect me to be a slob.”

“How often do you think you’ll have family or friends over?”

“I’ve only had two friends my whole life. One of them is a hero, and the other is trying to play games professionally.” Touya studies your face, trying to get a feel for if you like his answers or not. “As for my family, I expect my ma and siblings to want to check in every so often, but they wouldn’t be here every day for hours.”

“And your dad?”

“We’re not close.” He was short, his voice holding a sharp edge when it involved his father. “Next question.”

“If you do, how often do you smoke? Do you do drugs?” You scrunch up your nose in disgust.

“Don’t smoke or do drugs. Never wanted to or saw the appeal.”

“Good.” You mumble as you scan more of the questions. At least that’s one thing he can tell you two have in common. “Let’s see... Do you have any significant others or exes that might come around?”

“Nah. I like to fuck around, but never anything serious.” You make a face and Touya can tell you didn’t like that answer.

“Have you had roommates before?”

“Do siblings count?” Touya can’t tell if this is going well or not.

“I think so.” You smile softly down at the screen and Touya feels that weird feeling in his chest again. “You still live at home, then?”

“I’ve been staying at a friend’s place, but I don’t want to keep invading his space.” Your gaze finally meets his, that sickly soft smile of yours making his heart race. “I uh- I don’t have a job yet. I’m trying to make it as a tattoo artist. For the moment I’ve been training under a friend of mine and have already started my apprenticeship at his shop. Money might be a little tight at first, but I swear I can find a job that pays the bills until I make it. Look, if you give me a chance, I promise you won’t regret it.”

Touya knows he’s begging, but he really is desperate. You stare back at him, Touya’s anxiety going into overdrive as you sigh and hand him back his phone.

“What’s your name?” You ask.

“It's Touya... Touya Todoroki.” He answers truthfully. Touya didn’t want to say his last name because of his old man, but-

“Do you want to move in today?” Your question stops his train of thought. “If we leave now, I can help you pack up your stuff and get you all moved in before midnight.”

“Are you serious?” He looks at you with disbelief. “Right now? Without checking my references or-”

“I’m serious. You seem like a decent guy. A little mean and kinda short tempered, but I like you. I think you moving in will be good for the both of us.”

Touya watches you stand and stretch, your shirt riding up to reveal soft skin.

“What about rent?” He clears his throat, averting his gaze to the floor when he caught himself staring up and down your body.

“We can worry about that later.” You point to one hallway that had four doors and the other door tucked away next to the kitchen. “There's four bedrooms and two baths. I have the room with my own bathroom. You can pick whatever room you want. There all pretty big, so you’ll have plenty of space.”

“Uh...” He trails off as he watches you switch off your oven and pull out a tray of chocolate chip cookies. You cover the tray with foil and head over to the door, where a pair of keys were hanging from a hook. “Okay?”

“So?” You look at him expectantly. “Are you ready?”

“Oh, we-were going now?”

“You want to move as soon as possible, right?” You giggle; he slowly nods. “Then let’s go. You can tell me more about yourself on the way there.”

“You- You’re serious? You’re gonna let me move in just like that?”

“I was going to let you move in no matter what, Todoroki.”

It was his turn to make a face.

“Call me Touya.” He orders. You rest your hand on your hip and give him a pleased grin.

“Touya... Are you coming?”

Oh, shit... His name sounds really nice coming from that pretty mouth of yours.

Now that’s he’s looking at you, like really taking you in, you’re fuckin’ gorgeous. He’s seen pretty girls before, but none as striking as you.

But there was obviously something wrong with you if you were just letting him move in this quick without checking for references or doing a background check.

So you were either pretty and fuckin’ weird or pretty and just plain dumb.

Touya can easily handle both. He finds you attractive, but that doesn’t matter. His dick isn’t controlling how the rest of his living situation with you is going to go. Odds are the two of you won’t even be friends. You and him will just be roommates. Nothing more, nothing less. He’ll bury that weird feeling in his chest whenever you smile at him and focus on making his life how he wants it to be. Eventually he can save up enough to get his own place and his new cute roommate will be a distant memory.

Chapter 8: Chapter 8

Chapter Text

The next day, after you spent the better half of the morning with Touya holding your hair back and your face in the toilet, you felt well enough to get some shopping done. To be on the safe side, you chugged a bottle of ginger ale and took some Tylenol before grabbing a water and heading out for the day. You were one step out the door when Kirishima stopped you.

“You’re leaving?” He croaked, looking like death. His hair was a tangled mess, dark circles under his eyes, and an imprint of the stamp everyone got last night on his cheek. “Do you-“ he burps into his fist. “What company?”

“I’d love that, but I think you better stay home and rest.” You giggle. “I’m not strong enough to carry you if pass out on me.”

“I’ll be fine. I have a cure for hangovers that works like a charm.” You notice the small glass bottle in his hand. “My friend developed this little baby when we graduated UA. Just one sip and it’s like you never drank the night before.” He chugs the entire bottle in one swing, a bright toothy smile on his face. “I feel better already.”

“Wow. That’s pretty cool.” You hum. “Maybe you can get some for me next time. Hangovers are the worst.”

“Yeah, because you drink like a fish out of water.” Touya adds as he steps out of the bathroom, his hair wet and slicked back. “If you had stayed hydrated like I was telling you too, I wouldn’t of had to hold your hair back at the ass crack of dawn.”

“I needed help. I had a headache from hell.” You defend.

“Yeah cause you cried yourself to sleep like a baby.”

“I did not!”

“Oh, really?” He grins. “Then what was all that blubberin’ about?”

“You wouldn’t let me sleep in your room!”

“And let you take up my bed? Yeah right.”

“Kirishima was gonna let me!” You point out and Kirishima nods.

“You’re funny if you think I was gonna let both your drunk asses sleep in the same bed together?”

“Why?”

“Cause a said so.” Touya rolls his eyes and heads to the kitchen. He opens the fridge, his cerulean eyes meeting yours. “Where are you going, anyway?”

“Shopping.”

“For what?”

“Presents.” You shift from foot to foot, a sweet innocent smile on your face. “It’s a special day.”

“It is?” Kirishima asked, glancing over at Touya, who looked just as clueless as him.

“Yup!” You chirp. “You guys can come. Couples get free stuff today.”

Touya had just taken a swig of orange juice, your poor roommate nearly choking at your comment.

“The hell are you talkin’ about?” Touya coughs.

“It’ll be fun. We can act like we’re dating and get all the cute couple deals they have at the mall. Oh, and this one restaurant gives you all heart-shaped food just for today! Plus, it’ll be perfect for you guys to pick out your gifts. I already know what I’m getting Tenko.”

“What-“

“They even have these cute couple shoots you can do! Oh, my god we can do the wedding themed one! The dresses they have are so cute! I’ve always wanted to try one.”

“Are you still drunk?” Touya frowns, you laugh. From the corner of your eye you can see Kirishima pull out his phone.

“Oh, I get it now.” Kirishima grinned. “It’s Valentine’s Day.”

“Valentines day?” Touya repeated, looking at you. “Why didn’t you say that?”

“Cause I thought you knew.” You step back into the apartment and softly close the door. “So? Do you wanna go?”

Touya and Kirishima were quiet, the silence stretching out longer than it should. You were ready to tell them to forget it when Touya let out a frustrated sigh and stomped over to Kirishima and grabbed him by the arm. You watched as Touya dragged him into his room, leaving you alone.

“I’ll just... wait here.” You say to no one as you take a seat on the couch.

Touya was ready to slam his door closed, but stopped himself. He knew you hated it. You always lose your cool when it happens. It was a pet peeve for sure and Touya was not trying to piss you off when you were still fighting off a hangover.

Now he had to think.

You wanted him and Kirishima to go out with you on Valentine’s Day. The most romantic day of the year. This might be his chance to finally change your relationship. He knows he showed you his vulnerable side last night, but he must do more to make you finally see that he was actually crazy about you.

The only problem now is Kirishima.

“You like poppy.” Touya states and Kirishimas face lights up into a deep red. “Well, so do I. She’s the only girl I’ve ever wanted to be with that wasn’t just a one-night stand. Poppy is one of a kind and I think you know that too.”

“I do.” Kirishima gives him a sheepish grin. “I thought about her every day after we met that night. All I wanted to do was get to know her and I mean, obviously she doesn’t actually let us know her but-”

“But just having her in the same room as you makes your chest feel funny and your mind race with all the things you want to do for her.”

“Yes! Like all I want to do is spend time with her. I wanna make her laugh and smile that smile that gives me goosebumps!”

“You find yourself wondering what she’s doing or if she’s happy or if she ate that day cause, she ALWAYS forgets to eat if someone isn’t constant reminding her.”

“I’ll be on patrol and see something that I know she’ll love. I wanna spoil her, give her whatever she wants because she deserves it.”

“And then when the night ends, and she’s not in your bed, you can’t stop thinking about what a coward you are because you can’t tell the girl you like how all you want to do is call her yours.”

Of course Touya wanted you in his bed. He just wanted you sober and lucid when it finally did happen.

The men fall silent, slowly nodding at the mutual understanding that was settling between them.

“So what do we do?” Kirishima asks as he bites into his inner cheek. “If I like her and you like her... how does this all end?”

Touya sighs and runs a hand through his hair.

“I think she has feelings for both of us.”

“She does?” Hope bubbles in Kirishimas chest. He thought you might, but he didn’t want to jump to conclusions.

“Maybe? I thought she only looked at you with hearts in her eyes, but after last night-”

“Last night?”

“She thought I couldn’t hear her. I, and if you say anything about this to Shoto, I’ll turn you into ashes.” Touya shot him a glare that could kill. “I asked her to look at me the way she looks at you and she said-she- god- she said she already did.”

“If that’s true, then what do we do next? Do we make her choose?”

“No- I don’t know.” Touya huffed. “Knowing her, she wouldn’t want to ruin her relationship with both of us. If it came down to it, she’d probably pick neither of us to keep things fair.”

Touya began to pace back and forth in his room, Kirishimas ruby eyes following his every move.

What can they do that doesn’t result in them losing you?

“Why don’t you both date her?” Tenko groaned from under Touya’s covers and successfully scaring the shit out of both of them.

“You were still in here?!” Touya growled. He forgot that you and Kirishima weren’t the only ones who were wasted last night. After he took care of the two of you, he had Tenko sleep in his room too exhausted to drag him to his own bed. Tenko wasn’t much of a drinker, but after some convincing from you, he caved in fairly easily.

“I can’t move.” Tenko rolled over to his side and poked his head out. “I did not make good choices last night.” He slowly peeled his eyes open, only to gag and hide his head under a pillow. “Oh no- no, no, no, no, no.”

“You must be delirious from the alcohol in your brain.” Touya scoffed. “We can’t both date her.”

“Why not? It’s pretty common. Have you been on the internet lately? I’ve seen a lot of people talk about the joys of having more than one significant other. A lot of the books nowadays really bank on it and people eat it up. It’s like that saying.”

“What saying?” Touya can’t believe he’s sitting here listening to this.

“Two is better than one.” Tenko pressed the pillow down harder over his face. “Seriously, guys, why not give it a shot? Instead of trying to one up each other and making her choose, why don’t you run the idea past her? She might be down for it. If not, then at least you know you tried.” Tenko barely lifted the pillow up so he could meet their eye. “I think you guys would be good together. Your personalities even each other out. The two of you put together would probably make Poppy the happiest girl in the world.”

“I don’t know.” Kirishima fiddled with his thumbs as he stared down at the ground. “It would be a little weird, right? Me and Touya?”

“Only if you make it weird. Mina said she ships it.”

“You talk to Mina?”

“All the time. We’re what you would call besties.” Tenko chuckled. “She’s actually the one who came up with the idea. Her and Himiko-”

“She’s friends with Himiko?” Touya interrupts, confused. “Since when?”

“They met on one of my streams. They bonded over animal crossing and have been hanging out ever since.” Tenko yawned, his body trembling under the blankets. “Look, just think about. Test it out today and see how it feels. If you have more questions about the whole poly concept text, Mina. I’m sure she’d be more than happy to gush about it with you two. Until then, just take Poppy out on one hell of a date. She deserves it.”

Touya and Kirishima let his words soak in.

Could they really do this?

“Lets- We can talk about this later, Red. For now, let’s get ready before Poppy gets tired of waiting and leaves without us.” Touya stripped off his shirt and grabbed one of his nicer button tops. “Hurry and shower. Wear something nice, too.”

“For a day out?” Kirishima stretches and Touya can’t stop his gaze from landing on his defined abs. He can’t lie... Touya can definitely see the appeal.

“It’s technically a date. We should look nice.”

“Should I make reservations somewhere?”

“Do you think you can get us a table at the last minute?”

“I can if I pull the hero card.” Kirishima grins and gives Touya a playful wink. Touya sputters, the tips of his ears burning hot. “Give me, like, twenty minutes.”

Kirishima swings open his bedroom door and softly closes it behind him. Touya stood in the middle of his room, frozen, his mind reeling with what happened.

“The man was too stunned to speak.” Tenko teased, a full, raspy laugh pushing past his lips. “See, T? Kiri is already giving it a try.”

Touya forces his blush away, trying and failing to concentrate on what he’s supposed to wear today.

Suddenly, his door swung open, causing Touya to jump and clutch his shirt at his still bare chest like a blushing bride.

“Are you guys coming or what?” You huff as you impatiently tap your foot. “I’ve been sitting out here for ten minutes!”

“Hi poppy.” Tenko waved from underneath the sheets.

“Hi Tenko.” You smile before glaring at Touya.

“We’re coming. Just let us get dressed.” Touya roughly tousled your hair, you swat his hand away and make your way to his bed. He watches you throw yourself next to Tenko, the tired gamer quickly taking advantage and snuggling into your arms. “Oh sure, make yourself comfortable.”

“We plan too.” You giggle.

Touya went through each of his outfits, trying to decide what would be perfect for today. He could hear you and Tenko whispering to one another. You two were close, have been since the day you met. Touya knew Tenko didn’t see you the way he did. Tenko saw you like a sister, a best friend he owed everything too. You were his biggest supporter and fan. Had it not been for you, Tenko would have never locked into becoming the best gamer he could be. Tenko owed all his success to you.

Touya never had to worry about Tenko when it came to you.

And now he won’t have to worry about Kirishima either.

Since they were both going to get the girl.

Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Chapter Text

“What about this, T?” you ask as you hold up a box of Hawks themed chocolates with a goofy grin. “They’re shaped like wings and have a caramel filling.”

“Why in the hell would you think I’d want Valentine’s chocolates that are themed after my best friend?”

“Cause they’re cute!”

“No- no they are not.” Touya rolled his eyes, turning his attention back to the shelves that were packed with heart-shaped boxes. “ALSO, you’re not buying me anything today, remember? Stop browsing for stuff for us and pick out something you want.”

You, Kirishima and Touya had spent the better half of the morning at the mall. It was supposed to be easy, in and out, and then you guys could go have fun somewhere else. But no… no, they decided that they didn’t want you to buy them anything. They said they wanted to treat you for Valentine’s Day and for you to pick out whatever you wanted. Then when you tried to explain that you were supposed to be the one to gift them today and they could treat on White Day, they completely brushed you off!

“I just don’t get it! Why can’t I get you anything? I get you chocolates every year!”

“Because I said so! Quit your little tantrum and pick something out!”

“But-“

“I think what Touya is trying to say is that we want to spoil you a bit today.” Kirishima stepped between you two with a sheepish grin. “You do a lot for us. I know it breaks traditional norms here, but we figured today would be the perfect excuse.”

“Yeah, what he said.” Touya huffed, his gaze still searching the shelves. “Now come on- pick something. Red and I have reservations for lunch and we don’t miss them.”

“Reservations?” You ask. “For what?”

“I pulled a few strings and managed to get us reservations at The Velvet Heart.” Kirishima picked a large box filled with an assortment of chocolates and handed it over to Touya, who nodded approvingly. “They have a special menu just for today.”

“Isn’t that place crazy fancy? We can’t afford that.”

“Don’t you worry about the prices, hun. Today’s all about you.” Kirishima rested his hand on the top of your head and gently ruffled your hair.

“Here’s the thing.” You rest your hand over his and pluck it off your head. “I know you said not to worry about it, but like, I’m genuinely curious why you two decided to go all out today. It doesn’t make sense.”

“Sure it does.” Touya plucked a single stem rose from a nearby flower stand and scrutinized it. That’s when you noticed the sweat beading on his forehead and the red painting the tips of his ears. “It’s what you do on dates.”

“I’m sorry?” You squeak, tilting your head. “Do on what now?”

Touya clicked his tongue and turned his back to you while Kirishima gave you a look that nearly made you melt.

“We didn’t really have time to talk it out.” Kirishima admitted. “It was Touya’s idea.”

“Touya?” That can’t be right. Touya doesn’t go on dates. He picks up girls, brings them home, and kicks them out when he’s finished. Why would Touya want to go on a date with you? You get Kirishima cause you knew he had a thing for you but Touya? He always treated you like a friend. Sure, you saw him as more and fell for him pretty hard. It never occurred to you that maybe he saw you the same way. Was that what Touya meant last night? He wants you to want him too? “Wait… I’m on a date with both of you?”

“Yeah.”

“At the same time?”

“Yup.”

“I don’t understand.” You were having a hard time wrapping your head around this. “I didn’t think you two liked each other like that.”

“What?” Kirishima blinked and Touya spun around on his foot, brows raised. “No, we- that’s not it.”

“We both like you, idiot,” Touya scoffed as he stomped over to you and ran a frustrated hand through his hair. “It’s you… we wanna be with you. Like Red said, we didn’t get the chance to really talk about it, but this was the one thing we knew for sure. Well, that and the fact that we know you want us to.”

You thought you hid it well.

Guess not…

But this was bad.

Really, really bad.

“Tenko had this idea we wanted to throw at you. We were hoping to talk about it at dinner. Although thinking about it now, we should have known you’d be suspicious.” Kirishima chuckled. “Have you ever heard of polyamory?”

“The shape?”

“That’s a polygon!” Touya gaped with a shake of his head. “Be serious!”

“Well, I don’t know Touya!” You snap.

“Alright, calm down.” Kirishima stood between you two and placed his hand on yours and Touya's biceps. “Let’s go sit at the food court and talk this out.”

“I’m buying these first.” Touya said, as he held up the flowers and candy.

Kirishima intertwined his fingers with yours, heat flooding your cheeks again. His hands are rough, calloused, warm. You watched Touya buy your gifts, adding one last thing you didn’t catch and made his way over to you and Kirishima. Kirishima was on your right, Touya on the left. They towered over you as they held you in the middle. The next thing you know, you feel another hand slip into your free one and your heart skipped a beat.

Touya was holding your hand…

He’s never held your hand.

It took years for you to rest your head on his shoulder or give him a half hug. The last few days were the most the two of you have ever touched. Kirishima was usually touchy feely with you but to do it with Touya?

It was nice.

“So what is it?” You ask as you sit at a corner table far from the rest food court and the mall.

“Basically, polyamory is dating more than one person at the same time.” Kirishima took the lead as he pointed to himself and Touya. “Tenko was the one who brought it up. Apparently, he got the idea from Mina. We can have her explain it to us better, but for right now, that’s the simplest way to put it.”

“I’ve known you for a long time, Poppy. Odds are you wouldn’t want to choose between the two of us and ruin what you’ve built. With this poly thing, you wouldn’t have to choose. We’d both be with you. We’d share our time and attention with you and only you,” Touya added. “It would only be us three. No one else.”

They both reached across the table and held on your hands.

You shifted in your seat, face hot and heart pounding.

Both of them?

You, Touya and Kirishima?

“I don’t know what to say.” You whisper even though you do know the answer.

“That’s okay!” Kirishima reassured you. “We aren’t expecting you to answer right now.”

“We aren’t?” Touya mumbled and earned himself an elbow to the ribs from Kirishima. “I mean- ow- we can wait.”

“It’s a lot to think about. There’s a lot to consider but if you say yes, then we can at least promise you this.” Kirishima rubbed his thumb over the top of your hand, grinning at the sight of the goosebumps pricking up on your skin. “We’d do everything to make you happy. Our attention would only be on yours. We can go on dates, spoil you so much you would never have to lift a finger again. Well, do whatever you want.”

Whatever you want? With them?

That sound so nice.

“But what if it doesn’t work out?” You want this. You want this so fucking bad. “We live together. If this ends up being a disaster, I don’t want things to be awkward at home. I don’t want to lose either one of you. You’re my favorite people in the entire world. I can’t handle it if I lost that.”

Touya’s chest heaved, his nostrils flaring as the temperature started to rise.

“You are the only girl I’ve ever met that I’ve wanted to wake up to.” Touya spoke softly. “There isn’t a single second when you aren’t on my mind. It’s all the time, every day. You make me look forward to things, to be better and more, just for you. I know you’re probably thinking that I should want to do those things anyway cause it’s the healthy thing to do, but fuck all that.” He grins. “I live my life the way I want. I always will. There was nothing that was gonna change my mind.” His leg began to bounce under the table, his foot tapping nervously.

“Then you opened the door. It took me a minute to see that you weren’t just some girl or my roommate. No, you were someone to me now. I can’t picture myself walking through the door and not seeing you on the couch watching some stupid movie or learning some new project you’ll drop after a month. Spending all this time with you, watching you and picking up on things you won’t talk about, but I can see.”

“I see you, poppy. I want to keep seeing you. Nothing is ever gonna change that. Not now and probably never. It’s gonna be you and me and-“ his cerulean eyes flicked over to Kirishima who was gazing at him fondly. “And Red. I can see it. It’ll work. I’ll make sure it does. You wouldn’t lose us. We want you too much to just let you go.”

“I know I haven’t known you that long.” Kirishima leaned forward in his chair to wipe at the tears that had fallen down your cheeks. You didn’t even realize you were crying. “The night I met you at the bar, I felt that connection I was always looking for. There had been times when I thought I did, but those were just small, nothing special.”

“Suddenly there you were, flirting with me and smiling that pretty smile of yours. I felt it. That overwhelming tug towards you. It was the connection I was looking for. Ever since that night, you were all I could think about. That single moment was all it took for me to know that you were the only one I wanted to feel that way for. No one else. These last couple of months have meant so much to me, and I’m happy to say it’s because of you.”

Because of you?

How can they say that any of that?

They don’t even know you…

“Just think about it, poppy.” Touya relaxed in his chair, his anxiety gone after he finally worked up the courage to tell you the truth. “We can wait. Until then, let us spoil you today.”

The table fell into a comfortable silence, the two men scooting closer to you.

They gave you a lot to think about.

You like them, cherish them and have thought about them as more than just friends. You’d love nothing more than to say yes and finally let yourself be truly happy.

But you can’t.

You’d be breaking not only their rules, but yours as well. If they knew the shit you’ve already broken behind their back, you’d never hear the end of it. They set those rules to keep you safe. If you broke the rules, it could be dangerous.

Shifting in your chair, your eyes focused on the pretty flower petals and mind racing, you try to muster up the answer you had to say. The logical, responsible answer. The answer that protected your life and possibly theirs.

You have to say NO.

So why can’t you say it?

Probably because want you want, all you really, really want is to say yes. It’s been years since you’ve ever been happy like how you are with them. You like them. You really do.

Why can’t you be happy?

You’ve already broken enough of the rules.

What’s one more?

“Ready to get out of here?” Kirishima asked as he glanced around the food court. “We have to be fifteen minutes early for check in.”

“That’s fine by me.” Touya shrugged. “Are you ready, poppy?”

Words rise in your throat as your heart tries to hammer itself out of your chest.

Oh, fuck it… you’ll deal with the repercussions later.

“My name is y/n.” You whisper, your eyes downcast to avoid their gazes. “If we- if the three of us are going to- to be together, then you should probably know my name.”

Chapter Text

Touya Todoroki should have paid more attention to the prices at this restaurant. Kirishima had said it was a little on the pricey side but Touya never imagined it was this expensive. One plate alone was the cost of one of the utility bills. The bill is going to exceed the rent at this point.

Yeah… He should have paid more attention.

In his defense, he could easily blame it on how fuckin’ happy he was. Not only did you say yes to being his and Kirishimas girl, but he also knew your name. It suited you. A pretty name for a pretty girl. He never thought today would go like this.

After years and years of knowing you, you were finally opening up to them! You were sharing your likes and dislikes, your favorite things in the world, and things that scare you. They were actually getting to know you.

 Well, sorta.

The one thing you still didn’t seem to want to open up about was your past. He and Red tried to ease you into the topic by talking about themselves, but you were quick to change the topic. He figured if you were being open now, what’s the harm in learning just a little more?

What are your parents like?

Do you have siblings?

Did you have a best friend growing up?

Shit like that.

It was simple, harmless questions like that he wanted to know.

So why won’t you talk about it?

He’s used to you dodging questions. Touya expects it at this point. That’s when the thought came to mind, a thought that made his blood boil. Was your family like his? Broken and abused with no room for weakness? Did your family see you like you deserved? Did they hurt you, secluded, or criticized you for every little thing you did? If that was true, that would make sense why you wouldn’t want to talk about it.

Okay, it’s settled. He’ll drop it for now and hope one day you’ll want to share your past. Until then, he can be happy with this. Just as long as he gets to call you by your name.

“Are you ready for dessert?” The server asks with a bright, pearly smile. “The timeless tiramisu is very popular today.”

“Oh, that sounds yummy!” You gush. “Can I get that, please?”

“Of course! What about you, gentlemen?”

“I’ll get the Doki Doki Daifuku.” Kirishima said.

“Can I get the Cherish me cheesecake?” Touya grimaced, hating the words that just came out of his mouth. “And then the bill.”

She writes down your orders and heads back to the kitchen.

“So what do you guys want to do after this? I was thinking we could do some more shopping and walk off our food.” You suggest as you pull out your phone. “It’s still early. Oh! What about the arcade? I haven’t been to one before.”

“You’ve never been to an arcade?” Kirishima asked.

“No. Never had the chance.” You admit as you fidget with the napkins. “I thought it could be fun for us- that’s like a classic thing couples do, right?”

“Totally.” Kirishima beamed as he intertwined his fingers with yours to stop your fidgeting. “I know the perfect place. I used to go there with Katsuki when we were in UA.”

“Speaking of high school, which one did you go to?” Touya piped in without thinking and he could see the brief second when your hand twitched in Kirishimas.

“I uh- I didn’t go to school.” They blinked, their heads tilting to the side. Kirishima and Touya caught on to the change in your body language and the nervous pitch to your voice. “Yeah, I was homeschooled. Guard taught me the basics to get by once I was on my own.”

“Who’s Guard?” Panic settled on your face as you cleared your throat.

“My um- uh- she’s kinda my mom? I guess?”

“She’s kinda your mom? What the hell does that mean?” Touya could slap himself right now. He said he’d drop the subject, but now that you’re talking about it, he can’t stop asking.

“She raised me.” You shrug, your knee bouncing nervously under the table. “I don’t have a family. They died when I was little.”

Oh… oh shit. So it was something shitty, like Touya thought. No wonder you kept dodging the questions. Who would wanna talk about their parents dying?

“So you’re adopted?” Kirishimas voice was gentle, warm.

“No… Guard is just the one who was assign-“

“One Doki Doki Daifuku, a cherish me cheesecake and one timeless tiramisu.” The server chirped with that pearly smile of hers. “And here’s the bill.” She places the bill at the corner of the table closest to Touya. “Pay when you’re ready.”

Touya quickly took a peek at the menu and the sight knocked the wind out of him.

700,000 Yen?!

Holy fuck, he can’t afford this!

Touya cleared his throat and nudged Kirishima with his elbow to show him the bill. The red head’s eyes go wide as he bites back a gasp. You focused on your dessert, a happy dopey smile on your face as you savored every bite.

“Will uh- will you excuse us for a second?” Kirishima forced a boyish grin as he and Touya stood from the table and made a beeline for the bathroom. “That can’t be right.”

“No, it’s right.” Touya huffed. “I did the math ten times in my head, Red.”

“What are we going to do?! We don’t have that kinda money!”

“No shit.”

“I thought it would be fine if we split the bill, but that is significantly more than I was expecting.”

Touya cursed his shitty luck as a thought came to mind. This was the last thing he wanted to do, but it was better than being a dine and dasher on his first date with you.

“Go back out there and keep her company. I’m gonna make a quick call.” Touya groaned, grabbing Kirishimas elbow before he stepped out. “Let’s not make her talk about her past anymore. I think that’s enough for today.”

“No kidding. I wasn’t expecting it to be so… dark. I see why she liked to keep her life private.”

“She was dodging the question all day. I’m surprised she even said anything.”

“I honestly don’t think she noticed. She let her guard down in front of us without thinking.” A small smile stretched across Kirishima's face. “I’m taking that as a good sign, man. Y/n is actually trusting us! It’s like we hit the jackpot.”

“Yeah… to tell ya the truth, Red, I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to know someone’s name before.”

“Me too. She’s always been so mysterious. Who knew today would be so rewarding?”

A comfortable silence settled in the room, the chatter of the restaurant slipping through the cracks of the door.

“I’ll head back to her.” Kirishima said, Touya nodded.

He fished out his phone and dialed the only person he knew could help him with a sticky bind.

“Ayo!” Keigo chirped. “What’s up?”

“I’m dating poppy.” Touya blurted out, deciding to keep your name all to himself rather than sharing with everyone else. “She- and don’t you dare judge me or I’ll light your ass on fire- she’s dating me and Kirishima.”

“At the same time?” Keigo sounded oddly calm. “Does she know that?”

“Wha- of course she does!”

“So it’s you, Kirishima and poppy… and she’s happy?”

“She… yeah, Kei. She told us her name.”

“WHAT?!” Keigo screeched, causing Touya to pull his ear back from the phone. “She told you her name?! Touya, that’s huge!”

“Why are you more surprised by that than hearing we’re a poly couple?”

“Cause I knew it was bound to happen. You’ve been in love with her since you met and Kirishima is the most obvious person in the world when it comes to liking someone. Poppy isn’t very hard to read either. I see the way she looks at you two. Somewhere I knew it would work out like that.”

“I didn’t think she’d say yes. We told her to think about it, but she was so quick to give us an answer. After that, she’s been spilling her guts to us.”

“She’s talking about her family and all that jazz? Really? She’s always-“

“I know.” Touya glanced at himself in the mirror and used his free hand to fix his hair. “Keigo?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m happy. Like genuinely happy.”

“I know, man. I know how long you’ve wanted this. Good to know you and Kirishima could finally lay it all out on the table.” Touya could hear the soft cooing rolling in the back of Keigo’s throat. “So what’s up? Did you call me just to tell me that?”

“Uhhhh- not exactly.” Touya frowned. “I’m kind of fucked here. Red and I took poppy to the velvet heart for lunch and-“

“The velvet heart? You can’t afford that!” Keigo laughed.

“Yeah, I figured that out!” Touya growled with a roll of his eyes. “We can’t tell poppy that Red and I can’t afford the bill.”

“And you're calling me to say that you’ll be washing dishes and she’ll be single again cause you’re a bum?” Keigo joked.

“I will roast your feathery ass!”

“Alright alrightttt.” Keigo laughed, Touya rolled his eyes. He loved his best friend, but sometimes he just wants to ring his neck. “I’ll send you the money.”

“Thanks.” Touya muttered. “Red and I will pay you back.”

“Aw, don’t worry about it, bud. Consider it a gift for the great news. Tell poppy I say hi and that I’ll come visit soon. Work has been hectic.”

“Yeah, I will. Thanks again, Kei.” The two friends hung up and Touya let out a deep sigh of relief. He knew Keigo would say yes, but he still hated having to ask. His phone dinged, the payment for their meal sent. Touya will have to make it up to him somehow.

Touya made his way back to the table where he found you taking the last bites of your dessert.

“Everything okay?” You ask.

“I just had to resolve some issues.” Touya sat and gave Kirishima a small nod to let him know he had taken care of everything. “How was your dessert?”

“Timeless.” You joke and Kirishima chuckles. “See what I did there?”

“Yes, very clever.” Touya smirks. He digs into his cheesecake and so does Kirishima, the two men oblivious to your adoring gaze. With a soft smile, you rested your cheek on your palm, your elbow propped on the table.

“Excuse me?” You call, catching the attention of your server. The boys watch you fish out your phone and hand it off to her. “Would you mind taking our picture? It’s our first date.”

“Of course.” She holds your phone with care, her eyes focused on the screen when she frowns. “W-with who?”

“Both of them.” You chirp as Touya and Kirishima wrap their arms around your waist and hold you close. Her eyes go wide, her lips parting in shock.

“Seriously? Your dating Red Riot and Endeavors son?” She gawked.

“I sure am!” You giggle, they grip you tighter. “I’m a lucky girl.”

“Nah, we’re the lucky ones.” Kirishima rested his cheek on the top of your head. “Right, T?”

“Damn right, Red.” Touya ran his fingers up your spine and loved the way you shivered and squirmed in your seat. He snaked his hand around the back of your neck, cradling you in place. “She’s the only girl for us.”

The server gawked and blushed as she tried to regain her professional attitude. She cleared her throat before pointing the phone in your direction.

“S-say cheese.” She stammers, trying and failing to not be so flustered.

You, Touya, and Kirishima smile for the camera.

Touya wasn’t big on pictures. He hated posing and faking a smile.

But after seeing the light in your eye, the pure look of joy and adoration on your face at the picture on your screen as you wasted no time in making it your lock screen, Touya decided that maybe they weren’t so bad if they were with you.

Notes:

A tornado touched down in my little town I live in. I have never been so scared in my entire life y'all. That was the first time since I moved here when one has actually tore through town. I genuinely thought I was going to die. Thankfully Im okay but still shook up.

I will admit my little brush with death made me think about all my unfinished fics lol. I'm going on vacation in two weeks so I'm gonna try to do better with posting until then.

Thank you for reading! <3

Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Chapter Text

“It’s hottt.” You whine as you throw your head back on the couch. “Why can’t we call your brother to ice over the apartment?”

“Cause that’s fuckin’ stupid.” Touya snapped. “For one thing, you, Tenko and Red would die from hypothermia or get frost bite. Second, you’re not even thinking about the water damage.”

It was currently the peak of summer and Musutafu was suffering from the worst heat wave in history. You miss when it was four months ago, and the weather was nice and cool and didn’t make you feel you’re living next to a volcano. It wouldn’t be so bad if your air conditioner was working, but unfortunately for you your AC unit decided to break on you at the worst possible moment. You had been trying to get someone to come out, but you weren’t able to get anyone here for the next couple of weeks.

“Eiji.” You pout to your other boyfriend, who was in the kitchen serving you a bowl of shaved ice. “Can’t you use the hero card to get us bumped to the top of the list?”

“I’d love to do that for you, hun, but I’m not as popular as you think I am. My hero connection doesn’t get me VIP treatment like you imagine.” Eijirou grinned as he poured your favorite syrup over the freshly shaved ice. “I can head out when it’s cooler to get more fans. Pretty sure I saw one where you put ice water into it and it’ll blow cold air out.”

“Don’t baby her red.” Touya rolled his eyes. “If you keep spoiling her, she’s gonna be a brat.”

Since you agreed to be their girl on Valentine’s Day, Touya and Eijirou have been the best boyfriends a girl could ask for. The development between you three was natural and honest, just felt so right. The three of you felt like you were always meant to be together.

You waited a month to ask Eijirou if you could call him by his first name. His face was so red. It was cute. Touya had also asked when you did, but he still calls him by his nickname. You both can see Eijirou enjoys either one.

The second month, you all decided that you were tired of sleeping in separate rooms, so now they both sleep in your room. You were always in the middle, sandwiched between two of that hottest men in Japan. It was amazing and you’ve never slept so good in your entire life. A good chunk of the time the night ended with Touya and you alone, since Eijirou worked a lot of night patrols or he would be gone for a team up a mission for a few weeks.

You hated when he left for missions.

Touya tried his best to reassure you that Eijirou would come home safe and sound and that he was way too strong for anyone to ever take him down, but you still had the anxiety of not knowing what might happen. Anything could go wrong at any moment. You believed in his strength and capability as a hero, but a part of you was still afraid. That was probably your least favorite thing about dating a hero. The fear that your toothy hero might never come back to you one day.

So when Eijioru came home, you clung to him like your life depended on it, pampering him and treating him like a king the second he walked back through the door. He loved it.

Touya and Eijirou have become closer over the last four months as well. It was nice to see your boyfriends acting like boyfriends with each other. It was small, but you would always catch the stolen glances or looks of admiration in their gazes. Hell, you’d even see them being affectionate with one another every so often. It wasn’t anything big or grand. Small pecks on the cheeks or teasing comments or the occasional flirting. It was nice.

And don’t even get you started on the sex.

It was mind blowing every single time.

You still wanted to uphold the rules of the apartment. When you and the boys really wanted to get lost in each other, you would either rent a love hotel, wait until Tenko was gone or take advantage of Eijirous’ office at his agency. You’d have to risk the chance of seeing blondie, but he still avoided you like the plague, so it wasn’t too hard not to run into him. Then there were the nights where they just couldnt wait to be alone or get away. Those nights they’d have your face buried in a pillow or their hands over your mouth to keep you quiet.

Touya was the rough one and Eijirou was the gentle dominant one while you took whatever they gave you. Sometimes it’d be one of them alone or, and these times were your favorite, it’d be the two of them together. They took their time with you every single time. Touya would edge and tease you until you begged and cried for him to make you cum, while Eijirou worshiped and spoiled you until your mind went blank and your body was spasming.

You were the happiest you had ever been.

Saying yes to them was the best decision of your life.

So what if you still haven’t completely told them about who you are or why you were in Japan? So what if they didn’t know what you did for money or who you’d occasionally check in with once a month at the cafe down the street?

And so what if you didnt tell the complete truth to who you were checking with? You werent hurting anyone. They didnt know about Eijioru or Touya or the many, many, MANY rules you’ve broken since being here.

None of it matters.

For the most part, the boys do know you.

They know your likes and dislikes and can read you like the back of their hand. They didn’t need to know about your horrible past. You let your walls down a little after Valentine’s Day. You talked more about yourself than you had in years. Before, you’d keep them guessing, never once fully telling them anything about yourself.

Now if they asked, you’d tell them.

But you made it clear that you will never be comfortable talking about your past.

Even though you let it slip about your parents and guard at lunch on Valentine’s Day. It was the first and only time you’d slipped up. You can never let it happen again.

So you were just a little more careful.

“Aw come on, T.” Eijirou padded over to you and handed you your sweet treat, but not without asking for a kiss in exchange. “You know I can’t help it with her.” You quickly shoveled the flavored ice into your mouth and moaned at the cold sweetness on your tongue. “I love spoiling my girl.”

“Whatever.” Touya scoffed and grabbed one of the paper fans on the coffee table. Eijirou plopped himself down on the couch, his legs spread wide and his bare chest glistening with sweat. All of you were practically half naked right now. You with the world’s shortest shorts on and a thin shirt while the boys wore nothing but their boxers.

It was truly a beautiful sight.

You savored every last bite of your shaved ice, pouting when you stared down at the now empty bowl. It helped a little, but you were still boiling. You wish there was something else you could do to stay cool. The fans weren’t helping and if you didn’t cool off soon you were seconds away from stripping completely and tossing yourself into an ice-cold bath.

The TV was playing Tenko’s stream, your best friend and roommate raging as he lost miserably to the new Mario Kart. His door was closed, his room dark and sweat coating his face. He had his hair pushed back with a headband, a tiny fan on his desk semi keeping him cool as he played.

“Chat please!” Tenko growled as he barely missed a green shell. “I’m trying my- who said that?! Ban him!”

“Oh, he’s getting trolled today.” Touya laughed. “How long has he been playing?”

“Three hours now- I think.” You say. “He hasn’t placed once.”

Tenko was locked into his game, his tongue poking out from the corner of his mouth and his controller right in his face. His chat screen was flying by, most people laughing and encouraging him to do his best. Then there were the trolls who were doing everything in their power to rage bait him.

“Here we go! See chat, you didn’t believe in me and I had to prove you wrong! I’m the best gamer in the- WHO THE FUCK THREW A BLUE SHELL!” Tenko screamed, his camera shaking. “No! No! Are you- is this a joke?! I was in first! FIRST! I can’t- OH COME ON!”

You tried so hard to hold back your laughter. On one hand, you hated seeing your best friend struggle so much, but on the other, it’s so funny to you how mad he can get over a game. Touya wasn’t trying to hide his amusement while Eijirou was the sweetheart he was and cheered Tenko on to do his best.

Hinahina03: Tenko come stay at my family’s resort for the weekend! All paid and everything!

Dottiedoesdungeon: go baby! You can do it!

Boxtroll69: you’re dog shit pal! Find a different profession!

You smiled when you saw Dot pop up on his chat. She and Tenko met the night you all went to the club together. They really hit it off that night. You remember her flirting with him the entire time he was there, offering him drink after drink and hanging out with him on her breaks. They exchanged numbers and before you knew it Tenko went and got himself a girlfriend.

You like dot. She’s very sweet and weird and loves playing games like Tenko does. Her schedule was a little hard to work around but whenever she had a day off she’d come over to hangout with Tenko or drag him off to the outside world when he wasn’t streaming. She got him out of the apartment more, had him trying and experiencing new things. She was good for him.

And just like you and the boy, she tried to tune into his streams whenever she had the chance to support him.

Hinahina03: in fact invite your friends! It’ll be fun! Private beach, all you want room service and free passes to the water park!

You shot up in your seat.

“Is that girl serious?” You ask and they both look at you, confused. “That Hinahina person! Look what she said!” They quickly scan her messages before more chats come up and their eyes went wide. Touya shot to his feet, rushed to Tenko’s room and bursted through the door.

“Say yes!” Touya ordered. Tenko blinked at his screen before barely glancing back at Touya. “Look at your chat!”

“I'm in the middle of a game!” Tenko snarled. “Just give me- ARE YOU- GOD FUCKIN- FUCK!” Tenko was hit with another blueshell and dropped all the way back to twenty fifth place. You’ve never seen him exit out of a game so fast. “Chat what’s my roomate bothering me for?”

The Hinahina girl donated to send him a private message, and you watched Tenko read it to himself.

“I’m gonna end the stream for today. Thanks for watching everyone and I’ll see you tomorrow at the same time!” Tenko ends the stream, the TV going dark. You and Eijirou made your way over to Tenko's room where Touya was making himself comfortable on Tenkos’ bed. “Usually I’d be pissed at you for interrupting my stream but I’m pretty sure I would of had a genuine crash out of you didn’t.”

“What did that girl say?” You ask, grimacing at how grossly hot Tenko’s room was. It was hotter than the rest of the apartment.

“She said she’s a big fan.” Tenko scanned the message, the screen bright and damn near blinding. “She’d love for me and my friends to come enjoy the weekend at her family's resort.” He pulled up another tab and typed something into the search bar. “It’s called The Oasis.” You all gathered around his screen and checked out the website together. “Looks legit. She said if we agree she’ll tell her parents to hook us up since she’s their favorite.”

“Say yes!” You tug at his chair. “We could all use a little vacation. You guys have been working hard all summer! Plus we NEED to get out of the apartment before we all boil to death.”

“I have some vacation time saved up.” Eijiro said with a toothy grin. “I wouldn’t mind getting away for a bit.”

“I can block off my schedule for a few days. Stain shouldn’t mind if I’m gone for a few days.” Touya winked at you and you could feel your excitement grow.

“Yeah, I guess a vacation does sound nice.” Tenko’s cheeks burned red, his gaze averting to the floor. “C-can I invite Dot?”

“It’s your fangirl sending the invitations. You can bring whoever you want.” You smile. “So?” You look at each of the boys who were grinning at you. “Vacation time?”

They each shared a look and nodded.

“Hell yeah!”
