YAY! I'm happy that I'm finally posting for this Fandom. I think there needs to be more Reverse AU's so here I am.

Chapter 1: In The Beginning

Chapter Text

He clumsily stumbled up to the window, cursing to himself about having climbed multiple floors instead of coming to the door. Slowly but carefully he opened the window to the room and silently crawled into the dorm. Once inside he made a small noise, sure he could’ve gone unnoticed if he wanted to but curiosity was the presiding factor in his whole plan. Quickly he went into the shadows of the space and not a second after another figure entered the room with something in its hands. He leaped towards the person from his hidden place and caught them by surprise making the object from their hands fall to the floor. The clatter of the object and the sound of struggle were the only noises in the room.

“Gabriel?” came a single worded question from the man now on the floor. All tussle had ceased when the name came out of the taller man's mouth.

“Hey Cas, looks like you’re getting rusty” the other man, Gabriel, chirped with a shit eating grin. Castiel, in response, flipped Gabriel onto his back and now he was on top of the other man. Shock flashed on Gabriel’s face, “What are you doing here Gabriel?”.

“Aww, why are you being so cold Cassy, I thought you loved me” he quipped with a smile reappearing on his face. Gabe knew Castiel probably wouldn’t want to see him but he was still a little hurt by his younger brother's response.

Castiel got off of Gabriel and walked over to the lightswitch of the room. Once the light exposed the room, Gabriel got a real look at the place. It was small and organized, everything looked clean, almost to clean as if not much of the space was actually used. Medical books laid neatly stacked on the closest table in the room. The floors and counters nearly spotless aside from appliances and coffee cups placed strategically on the surfaces to be most accessible.

“Gabriel.”, it was stern and assertive, a commanding voice that would be concerning to anyone else. Thankfully Gabriel wasn’t just anyone else and he was used to Castiel’s monotone voice.

“Alright, alright, fine…dad went out without notice and hasn’t been back in a few days…”, complete silence. The only noise in the room was the buzz of the technology and the wind from the window which was still slightly open from Gabriel’s forced entry.

“So why are you here Gabriel? You know I want nothing to do with our father.” Now that, that was a little too cold for Gabriel. He knew Castiel hadn’t had a good relationship with their father but how could he be so dismissive. Chuck may have been a drunk and a coward but he wasn’t a hunter. Anyone in the hunting community could tell you that and his disappearance hasn’t gone unnoticed by others.

“Please Cas, if something’s happened to him I don’t know what I’d tell the others…I don’t know what I’d do…”, Gabriel himself had to admit that the end of his sentence sounded like a pathetic beg but he didn’t care. He knew it was a low blow but he really did want Cas’s help and if that meant being a little manipulative then it was fine for him.

“...I can’t Gabriel, I’ve gotten out of hunting. I’m doing well in school and I’m actually making a life for myself-”

“Cas he left his journal.” Gabriel had interjected in the middle of Castiel’s sentence but Cas made no effort to continue after the new revelation. That got Catiel’s attention. Their dad NEVER went anywhere without his journal. It was the only thing he cared about more than his own life, his life’s work really. Chuck has known about the supernatural his whole life and unfortunately it made him a paranoid mess and an even worse father. That journal was, to him at least, the only thing he made that was worth anything to the world.

“Fine, but I need to be back before the weeks end. I have a final coming up that could really make or break my life.”

That was all that Gabriel needed to hear as he dragged Castiel out of his place and down to his car. Carefully parked a short distance from the entrance of the dorm was a 1967 Chevy Impala in a jet black color. It wasn’t in perfect condition but it was by no means ruined, plus the only reason he took the car from Chuck is because he thought it’d make him have a better chance with the ladies. Honestly Chuck never left the house either so he wouldn’t even notice if a car of his went missing. It was an old car but it held a history that no other vehicle had for the family.

Gabriel had hopped into the driver side of the car with the enthusiasm of a child but Cas just stood outside. This car was Castiel’s favorite, if he ever asked to go anywhere then he would beg his siblings to take him in the Impala. He lightly walked to the passenger side and slipped into the car. Memories of his childhood filled his mind with warm and bitter thoughts but he simply sat there in silence. Gabriel had shoved a cassette into the player as he started the vintage car, the rumble bringing it to life.

“Ready to go Cassy?” Gabriel’s voice filled with renewed excitement as he placed a free hand on Castiel's shoulder.

“I guess I’m as ready as I could be.” Cas had given the impression of uncertainty but he was glad to see Gabriel again. Maybe this hunt wouldn’t be so bad.

Not every episode is going to get a rewrite but the first will and that's what's coming next.
