Chapter 1: Hospital

Chapter Text

The first thing William feels as he wakes up is the pain going through his whole body. It takes a lot of effort to open his eyes. He sees there are bandages all over his body." Ah, Mr Afton, I'm so glad you're awake!" William looked towards the voice, and he saw a doctor." Why am I here." He asked." Well, Mr Afton, you were in an accident at work, and you have been in a coma for three months. I'm going to ask you some questions, ok." Willam nodded." Do you know your name?" "My name is William Afton." The doctor wrote something on her clipboard." Do you know how old you are?" He knew this was a simple question, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember. He tried to remember anything else but came up with nothing." I can't remember; I only know my name." The doctor writes it on her clipboard." That's ok, Mr. Afton. There is a chance you can get your memory back with time. I'll call your business partner. He has been looking after your kids while you were out."  The doctor left him with his thoughts. He has children, and he doesn't even remember how many doses he has, how old where they are, how many he has. What intrigued him the most was that they were staying with his business partner, that their mother was not in the picture, and what business he did.

William was brought out of his train of thought by the sound of the door opening, and four people came in. The adult was a blonde-haired bearded man who wore glasses, a flannel, and overalls. He was guessing this was his Business partner. With him were three children, two boys and a girl., who looked 13, looked exactly like him from the brown-haired and silver eyes. The boy had on a gray tank top, black jeans, and spike bracelets; the younger boy, who looked about 6, had brown hair and brown eyes he had on a black and gray striped t-shirt and gray shorts he was holding a yellow bear with a purple hat and bow tie it looks like he has been crying and finally the girl she looked the same age as the younger boy twins made? She had red hair, green eyes, and had on a pink shirt and a dark blue skirt." Good to see you finally awake, William. We've all been worried. The doctor told us about your memory loss, so let's make some introductions. I'm Henry Emily. We’ve been friends since college, and we own dinner together.” “ I’m Michael Afton. I’m 13.” Michael huffed, crossing his arms and looking away.” I’m Evan Afton.” Evan said timidly, hugging his bear closely.” And I’m Elizabeth Afton.”

William looks at all of them, but even with them right in front of them, he can’t remember them.” Where’s your mother?” Michael glares at him for saying that, but Henry speaks up.” She died in childbirth with Evan and Elizabeth.” Oh, so that’s why he is a silent parent.” What kind of dinner do we own?” Henry smiles.” It’s called Fred Bear family dinner. It’s a pizza place, and you and I built animatronic mascots. That is how you got hurt. You were fixing an animatronic.” William knew what an animatronic was and how to bold them. He finds it wears that he remembers that, not his children before he couldn’t ask any questions when the doctor came in.” Now that you are awake, Mr Afton, we want to keep you here for another week, and if everything is good, you can go home.”

Chapter 2: Welcome home

Chapter Text

William was released from the hospital late at night. Henry brought him back to his house. To say it was awkward would be an understatement. Henry keeps talking about their past, hoping that he can jog Williams's memories, but as he hears Henry's stories, that's all they sound like to him—stories of Henry and his other friend who just so happened to have the same name as him, so William just stays quiet, looking out of the window.

When they finally pulled up to what William guessed was his house, all he could say was that his other self liked purple. His home and car were purple." You might want to be quiet. The kids are asleep." William nodded, explained the car, and entered the house. The place feels just as foreign as everything else around him. He finds it odd that he has no pictures of his kids anywhere in the house; the kids' bedrooms are upstairs while he is downstairs, and the only thing that feels familiar is his workspace. There were many different uncompleted animatronics and several different blueprints. He was so familiar with this place that he could pick up the tools and build animatronics. This angers him. Why does he remember this but not his kids? He would try to remember his Michael, Evans, and Elizabeth.

William gets up early so he can start breakfast for his kids. As it seems he also remembers how to cook, he decided to make pancakes." What are you doing." William jumps at the sudden sound and turns around to find Michael standing in the kitchen's entryway, already dressed. Michael, I know it's a school day, but it's 5 AM, but you don't have to be there till 8:03. You could still have slept for another two hours, and I'm making breakfast for you and the twins. You can't go to school on an empty stomach." Michael looks at him in confusion.” You’ve never done this before. I’m usually the one that gets Evan, Elizabeth, and myself ready for school.” William stopped what he was doing. “ where would I be?” Michael shifted uncomfortably.” You would be in your workshop and didn’t like being disturbed.” William is angry at his past self for prioritizing his work over his kids.” Well, things are going to change, Michael. Go back to bed. I’ll get you and your siblings when it’s time to get ready for school.”

Chapter 3: Dad William

Chapter Text

William was left alone in the house when the kids were off to school. He decided to take a look around the house. He passes his workshop since he has already been there; the living room is bare, with only a couch and a TV, no pitchers or paintings. After leaving the room, he goes down the hall. The walls were bare, and only a grandfather clock was ticking away. He enters the room on the right and finds one of the kid's bedrooms. He guesses this is Evan's room because of Freddy's plush toys. He remembers that Evan also holds a golden Freddy bear, but as he looks at the plushies, he sees that the fox's head has been ripped off. William picked it up. I'm going to fix it for Evan. He exited the room and went to the one at the end of the hall. As he enters, he knows this is Elizabeth's room since it is all pink. On the floor of Elizabeth's room was a doll that was torn apart. William picked up the pieces and went to fix them as well; he eventually found Michael's room on the table. A notebook was ripped apart, and all the colored pencils were broken. From what he could see, Michael was a fantastic artist, but William guessed that Michael didn't consider all of it to be broken.

After fingering out the layout of his house, he went to fix his kid's things. He sowed the fox's head back on and put the doll back together. His younger kids must play with their toys roughly. Then he painstakingly tapped Michael's drawings back together and hung them around the house. He would make sure that he knew how a fantastic artist he was. He also walked to the nearby store and got Michael a product art sketchbook and a new pack of colored pencils. When the kids return from school, William gives them a loving smile.” Welcome home, kids. I have a surprise for you.” William handed Evan his fix plushy and Elisabeth her fix doll.” Here you go. I saw these were broken, so I’ve fixed them for you. Try not to play with them too roughly this time.” Then William turns to Michael.” Michael, you are a fantastic artist. You ripped up your drawings because you didn’t think they were good, so I put them back together and displayed them. Do you know you are amazing?” He handed Michael the sketchbook and pencils. “ why don’t you guys go play? I’ll be making dinner at 5.”

The kids have a sibling meeting in Michael’s room. They are all sitting on the floor looking at the stuff the father has given them.” I don’t like this.” Evan said quietly.” I agree this is so weird. He was the one that broke all this because we were bothering him too much, and now that he supposedly lost his memory, he wants to play like he is a good person.” Michael said.” Well, it is nice that he is no longer hitting or yelling at us.” Elizabeth said, and Evan nodded in agreement.” Yay, but how long do you think this is going to last? He will return once he gets his memories back to how he was.” Michael started, and the twins looked sad.” Look, you too. I don’t want you guys to get your hopes up that we can have a typical family. Just be on guard, ok.” The twins nodded, and Michael pulled them into a hug. He promised to protect them the day they were born, and Mom had died, and he was gone to keep it.

Chapter 4: Friends

Chapter Text

Henry decided to visit William after he had dropped Charlie off at school. When he pulled up to the house and knocked on the door Henry when William opened the door Henry was surprised that William was smiling brightly. Henry doesn't remember the last time his friend smiled." Henry! It's so good to see you come in, come in." William stepped aside, letting his friend in. When Henry walked into the house, he was surprised to see drawings that were once ripped apart but were now taped back together and hanging on the walls. William sees Henry looking at the drawing and smiles." It's Michael, who is so talented that he doesn't think so, so I am making sure he knows how proud of him I am. And Elisabeth is feisty. I know she will be able to achieve her dreams, and Evan, he is such a sweet boy and so bright." William keeps talking about his kids, but Henry doesn't know what to think about this new William.

"How are you feeling, William." William stopped his rambling." I feel great, Henry. Why do you ask?" Henry sighed." It's just I know you don't have your memories. It's just weird. I don't know how long I haven't seen you act like this." William frowned." How so?" "Well, you always complain about your kids, and we usually only talk about work and new animatronics designs." William thought about what his friend had said. He started not to like his past self. His kids are amazing, and he will make sure they know.

The two friends talked for hours. They talked about their kids and the projects they were working on, and Henry told him moments of their past.” So you still don’t remember anything?” Henry asked William, shaking his head.” Nothing at all, but the more I learn about my past self, the more I don’t like him.” Henry puts his hand on his friend’s shoulder.” I know you might have some problems, but you are a good person deep down.”

Chapter 5: Protective older brother

Chapter Text

Michael was barely paying attention to school. When his father was unconscious in the hospital, that was the best time of his and his younger siblings' lives because they were staying at Uncle Henry's place. In his place, there was no yelling, no hitting, or having their stuff broken for any minor inconvenience. When Uncle Henry told them that their father had woken up, it devastated Michael. He had prayed that his father would make it so he and his siblings could live permanently with Uncle Henry and Charlie. But that's not how things turned out. His father woke up, but he was not the same man he was. He was kind to his siblings and made them breakfast, replacing the items his past destroyed. he was acting like a good parent. But Michael couldn't let his guard down; he knows how manipulative his father is, and this could all be an elaborate act. In the past, he could predict his father's actions, which helped minimize the hurt his father did to him and his siblings, but now he is acting so out of character that he can't predict his actions anymore.

The last bell rang. Michael sighed and got up, slinging his backpack onto his back. He would have to face his father now, with unpredictability." Hey Michael!" Michael turns around and sees his friends coming up to him, Jeremy (Bonnie's bro), Clayton (Freddy's bro), Liam (chica's bro), and Charlie." I've heard that your dad is finally awake." Clayton said, tossing a set of firecrackers and catching them in the air, he always seemed to have a set no matter how many the teachers took away from him." Yay, my house is a lot quieter now." Charlie added, Michael frowned, as he wanted to tell Charlie everything that his father had done to him and his siblings, but he knew his father would kill Charlie if he said anything. So he just rolled his eyes." At last, I got my room back, and I don't have to share with you." Michael smirks." You have no idea all the secrets I've found. You should find a new place to hide your diary." His friends laugh while Charlie looks at him in horror. “So I heard your dad lost his memory, how’s that going?” Jeremy asked.” Weirdly, he is like a whole different person.”

As they left the school, Michael stopped when he saw a familiar purple car." Hey, son, get in. We need to get your siblings." William said happily. Michael was unsure if his father had ever picked him up; he usually had to walk to Evan and Elizabeth's school.” You weren’t kidding, he didn’t yell at us and call us pillocks.” Michael sighs and gets into the passenger seat as they drive off his father keeps chattering about anything. Still, he wasn’t listening when they got to the twins' school. Michael could see they were just as confused as he was when they saw their father's car pull up. Still, they see their brother in the car, so they get there. They all stay silent despite their father's attempts to converse with his children. When they make it home, they go straight into Michael’s room, leaving William confused in the entryway.
