Chapter Text

"Good grief. Well now that he's gone..."

Hivemind puts his gun away after killing Rider. He stared at Rider's lifeless body for a moment, and then walked away. It also started to rain a bit, so that signaled that he had to go. Once he was back at the hospital, he greeted Marie, who was getting some paperwork done. "So.. Marie. You seem off today. Something on your mind?" He leaned against the wall and looked at Marie, smirking. "...I'm fine, Hivemind. Just... I feel bad for those we've euthanized.. according to these papers.." She looked at the papers. Hivemind scoffed. "You're nothing but a snowflake, Marie. Those people who we've euthanized were nothing but vicious animals. All of them. Be glad we aren't infected by now." He took the papers.

"I know that Hivemind, but do we really need to kill them off? Like that inkling you killed back at that camp.. he didn't do anything! He was mourning and all you did was shoot him. Do you feel no remorse!?" Marie yelled at Hivemind. He gritted his teeth and grumbled. "Of course not! He nearly injured our only scientist!" Hivemind crossed his arms. "I'll kill as many fuzzy inklings as I want! I'll even kill your stupid cousin that I spared!" Hivemind took out his gun again. "....You wouldn't.. and how come you know whats best anyways!? We're not the only normal inklings left, yknow."

Hivemind rolled his eyes. "Of course I know that, Marie. You're overreacting." He put his gun away again.

"And you still think it's okay!?"
"Not entirely, but yes."
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"

"SHUT UP, WOULD YOU!? You're like a pro-life activist! And just for that.." He loads his gun. "I'll be searching for your cousin. Good luck telling her to escape. Oh wait, you can't. She'll be dead by then!" Marie gasped and tried to prevent Hivemind from leaving, but he didn't listen and left again. Marie was left alone in the lobby, on her knees, and tears escaping from her eyes. She couldn't let Hivemind get to Callie.. but neither could she stop him. While she was stuck in her own thoughts, Hachi walked into the room, and saw her crying. "M-Marie..? Is everything alright?" Hachi knelt down to Marie's level and put his hand on her shoulder. "....Hivemind... he.. he wants to kill C-Callie..." Marie growled, now clenching her fists.

"...What? Why? Did you two have some conflict?" Hachi tilted his head. Marie nodded and sniffled. "Yes.. and I will get my revenge on him for this...." She grumbled. Hachi's eyes widened as he heard that, having flashbacks from when Rider nearly attacked him. "Now let's not get drastic now.. if you do that, it won't make you any better. It'll only make you turn into what you hate." He tried to calm Marie down. Marie took a deep breath, wanting to scream, but she didn't. She calmed down just a little. "You're right, Hachi.."

Chapter Text

While Hivemind was walking towards the shed that he kept Callie in, he heard rustling in the distance. But he didn't do anything and shrugged it off. Once at the shed, he took out the keys for it. He heard the rustling again and turned around... to see Callie and an old friend, Fierce, lunging at him. They both landed on Hivemind's chest and snarled. "H-Hey, easy now... I'm no danger, I promise!" He hid his gun. Callie bared her teeth while Fierce bit off Hivemind's glasses. They both didn't seem to believe him either. Hivemind gulped and took his gun out again.

"Guess I'll have to do it the hard way.." He quickly pointed it at Callie. Fierce noticed what was going on and immediately bit Hivemind's arm. Hivemind yelled out in pain, and shot out a dart at Callie. But she dodged. Hivemind frantically shot the gun multiple times at Callie and Fierce, catching Callie two times and Fierce missing them. When Hivemind was on his last dart, he noticed that Callie was down and that she was shot two times. But Fierce was still up, and now was frightened of Hivemind. Hivemind stayed silent and grabbed Fierce. He put the gun to Fierce's chest, and teared up a bit as he whispered to him. "Forgive me... friend Fierce...." and he pulled the trigger.

Back at the hospital, Marie and Hachi were having some breakfast together, while talking a bit too. "So... how did you exactly get into here? Hivemind isn't really type to let people in freely..." Hachi tilted his head. "Oh, he found me. It's a long story." She chuckled nervously. Hachi chuckled as well. "I didn't think he would hire a girl though!" Hachi laughed while Marie was a bit offended at that comment, but didn't say anything. As they continued to talk, Hivemind quickly came in the hospital, holding his bloody arm from the bite he received. "Marie..... get a few bandages.. and Hachi... go find some disinfectant..." He panted.

Marie and Hachi both nodded and quickly went to do what Hivemind asked. Once the supplies were there, they quickly tried to help Hivemind out before he was infected. "What even happened!?" Hachi asked, carefully dabbing some disinfectant onto the wound. Hivemind gritted his teeth and panted. "There was another one with Callie... and it bit me.." He grumbled a bit in pain. Marie gasped. "And... what happened with Callie...?" She asked, her tears coming up again. Hivemind sighed and said, "I shot her. Two times.." He looked at Marie. Marie's eyes widened after she heard that, and pushed Hachi away to get to Hivemind. "YOU WHAT!?" She gripped onto Hivemind's shirt. Hachi took notice and tried to pull Marie away from Hivemind.

"Please calm yourself down, Marie! It isn't worth it!" Hachi wrapped his arms around Marie's waist to try and pull her away. Hivemind tried kicking Marie away, and it worked, making Marie fall back onto Hachi. "Damn it..." She groaned out in pain. Hachi still had his arms around her too. "Uh.. Marie...? Can you please get off me..? I can't breathe..." Hachi let go of Marie and tried to push her body up. "Oh right.. sorry." She got off of Hachi's body. Once they were both up, they saw that Hivemind was gone.

"He must've left while we were down.." Marie frowned. Hachi dusted off his knees and saw that Hivemind was gone too. "Nothing we could do now though..." Hachi began to walk away. Marie turned around, and went after Hachi. "Wait, where are you going?" She tilted her head. Hachi looked back one last time, and then left, leaving Marie standing there. Marie rolled her eyes and decided to just go back to her room.

While it was hard to keep track of everything afterwards, Marie, Hivemind, and Hachi still worked through those moments. And while Hachi was cleaning up his office a bit, he noticed a small, folded, picture on the ground. He picked it up and unfolded the corner. It was a picture of him, and another one of his old friends. Leah. The green inkling that seemed to disappear after they couldn't find a cure. Hachi looked sad and put the picture in his pocket.

When he was done cleaning up, he rushed over to Hivemind, and showed him the picture. "Do you remember her?" Hachi asked. Hivemind nodded his head a bit. "Yeah.. uh... wasn't she the step-mother of Rider or something...?" Hachi rolled his eyes. "I don't care about who she's related to, I'm asking if you remember! She was my scientist partner!" Hachi exclaimed. Hivemind shrugged. "Oh. Well how was I supposed to know? I'm a busy guy, Hachi."

Hachi frowned. (insert boo womp sound ok sorry I'll get back to writing ✍ 😭) "You're always busy..." Hachi walked away sadly. He went back to his office. He sat on his desk, staring at the picture. He started to daydream... about seeing Leah again.... working together.. laughing together.. until his thoughts went in a... interesting direction. Even though his heart was for Goggles, he still had his small crush for Leah... and longed to hear her voice... feel her body with his.. until..

"Hey, Hachi! HACHI!" Marie snapped her fingers, and Hachi snapped out of it. "Were you even listening!?" Marie frowned. "U-uh.. no! I think I was lost in my thoughts.." Hachi blushed and chuckled in embarrassment. Marie rolled her eyes and sighed. "I was asking if you could help me take care of a patient." She began to walk away. "A patient...?" He looked confused and went with Marie. He went to the room where Rider used to be in. He saw Goggles laying there, his neck bandaged and his scarred eye still there.

"Wait, I thought he was dead! Hivemind told me that before he killed Rider, he saw Goggles' mauled body!" Hachi tilted his head. Marie chuckled. "And when I was getting some food for us to eat, I noticed that he was there too, but he was still breathing. I quickly took him in and now.. here he is."

Goggles was growling a bit as he woke up, and when he did, he looked around. "Im.. alive... I'm alive!" He felt around his face. Hachi smiled a bit, and Marie was leaving. "Take care of him for me while I go get some medicine." She left the room. Hachi looked at Goggles for a moment, then hugged him. Goggles was confused, not seeming to remember Hachi as much. "Uh.. sorry, I don't understand.. uh... do I know you?" Goggles asked. Hachi, still hugging Goggles, said, "it's me, Hachi. I saved you, remember? When we were still teens?" Hachi had hope in his voice.

Goggles got his memory back up, and he smiled. He hugged Hachi back tightly. "I've missed you... for a long time.. I didn't know you worked here.." He chuckled weakly. Hachi pulled back a bit, and grinned. "And I still remember and love you like before..." He leaned in and kissed Goggles. They didn't notice that Marie was coming back though... "So Goggles, here's your-" She cut herself off as she saw them having their moment. She chuckled and rolled her eyes. "Fine, I'll leave you two alone, you gay cephalopods.." She smirked and walked away.

..but meanwhile...in another place far from the hospital.. and the deserts.. an inkling was walking the streets, hood up, and frowning. They also had a scarred eye, so that didn't make it better. Once they reached the hot deserts, they put down their hood. "I'm coming for you, Hivemind.." Vintage said, gritted his teeth and continuing to walk.

Chapter Text

Darkness surrounded the place. Nothing to be seen and nothing to be found. Hivemind was terrified of it all. Because that was his fear. Being left alone. He tried to call out for the others, but nothing came out of his mouth. He continued to walk through the endless hallway, until a light shined in a room. Two fuzzy inklings, with both ratty and messy clothing, sat there in silence. Hivemind knew who they were though. Rider and Fierce. But weren't they dead? Hivemind was unsure on what to do, so he walked up to them both. That didn't end well though... because they both quickly turned around and opened their jaws, biting Hivemind's face off. He screamed in pure horror as blood gushed out everywhere, until...

Hivemind woke up in his bed. He was sweating like crazy, and he seemed to be cold. It was just a nightmare. "They're dead though...." He said to himself. He shrugged it off and went to get dressed. Once done, Hivemind went to his office to look at patient records. He was too tired to even do that either. So he just went to the lobby where the others were hanging out. Marie and Hachi were both talking to each other, while the other patients, Army, Goggles, and Emperor, were having breakfast together. Marie was the first to call out to Hivemind. "Yo, Hive. You're up early." She sipped some coffee. "I'm always up early." Hivemind grumbled. "Looks like someone's got the morning grumpiness." Hachi laughed. Hivemind frowned and growled at Hachi. "I'm fine." He sighed.

Marie laughed too until she noticed something. There was a bit of fur on Hivemind's elbow. "Uh.. Hive..? Your elbow..." She looked worried. Hivemind looked and gasped. "I-.." He looked horrified as his eyes turned pink as well. He shook his head and the pink eyes went away. "I'm just tired. Nothing else, heh.." He smiled nervously at Marie. Marie was about to speak until there was a knock on the doors. Hachi went to answer it, but it flung open. A figure with a hood was there. "I'm looking for Hivemind." they said, their hood still up. Hivemind heard his name and gulped, wondering what they had to say. Two other inklings were behind them too. One with sunglasses and a hood, and the other with just a hood. They all took off the things that covered their face, and Hivemind's face quickly went into one with shock and fear. He knew who they were. Mitsuami, Ocho, and Vintage.

Mitsuami and Ocho pointed guns at everyone but Hivemind, and they backed away. Vintage walked forward to Hivemind. "Hivemind. The doctor that put down my friend. Even though she caused me this scratch, she could still be saved in this mistake of a hospital. Why, Hivemind? Why did you do it? You have other fuzzy patients that you kept, why did you put down Omega?" Vintage grumbled. Hivemind sighed and looked guilty. "I did it without thinking. She was just too out of control." Hivemind looked down.

"Well you have a ton of fuzzy patients that seem too "out of control", why did you keep them?"

"..."

"You have a scientist don't you? Why didn't you call him in?"

"..."

"Are you gonna answer me or not!?"

"I.."

"Cmon, Hivemind, WHY DID YOU DO IT!?"

"BECAUSE I ONLY THOUGHT OF MYSELF!" Hivemind blurted out. Everyone was shocked at the relevation. Even Marie and Hachi. Vintage let out an angered yell and turned around. "I knew you would've said that! You're always so selfish and you never think about anyone!" He grumbled angrily. "Mits, Ocho, cmon... let's go." Vintage began to walk away. The others followed, and Hivemind was left with the staff and his patients. Everyone was looking only at him, upset at his secret. Even Hachi was mad at him.

Chapter Text

After Vintage had left, Hivemind sighed and looked at the others. Goggles and Marie were both next to Hachi, and they were trying their best to calm him down since he was crying. Hivemind walked to the three of them anyway. Marie looked disappointed at Hivemind and Goggles stayed silent. Hachi just kept crying. "W-what were you thinking!? Putting a patient down just because they harmed someone, but it wasn't even their fault!?" Hachi sniffled. "Oh come on, be real! You didn't say anything when I killed Rider! What's the swi-" Hachi sobbed and yelled. "I'm upset about both, Hivemind! Rider was my friend!" Hachi cried into Goggles' chest. Goggles shook his head and rubbed Hachi's back. "If Vintage told me to tell him what I've been hiding, I would at least lie so I wouldn't look cruel." Goggles growled.

Hivemind let out a grumble and walked away from them. Goggles looked at Marie. "What do you think, Mar?" He asked. She shrugged and said, "I dunno. But I'm taking Vintage's side on this o-" She was cut off by Hachi yelling more and sobbing. "DON'T PICK SIDES NOW!" He sobbed more. Goggles and Marie looked at each other in worry.

Meanwhile, Hivemind went outside, trying to see if Vintage was still outside. But he wasn't. Ocho was there though.. leaned against the wall next to the door, smoking a cigarette. He turned his head and saw Hivemind staring. "Heh, I knew you'd come here." He spat out his cigarette and stepped on it. "Oh.. yeah uh.. I just came here to talk to Vintage, not you.." Hivemind muttered. "He isn't available. Only I am. So about that confession..."

He grinned. "I don't blame you at all. I never knew Omega well, but if she caused a scratch like that to me? Heh, I would put her down too." Ocho laughed. Hivemind tilted his head and rubbed his arm where the bite was. "But neither can I blame Vintage for getting mad at me.. I mean, Omega was his childhood friend. Wouldn't you be upset too?" Hivemind sighed. Ocho grumbled. "Like I said, Hivemind, I never knew her well. But yeah, I would be upset if Mits was killed or taken from me. Not Omega though, she was unhinged." Ocho rolled his eyes. "I can't be here for too long though. Vintage will be angry. it was nice seein' ya, I guess." With that, Ocho left. Hivemind grumbled and walked back inside the hospital.

Hachi was sniffling a bit as Hivemind got inside. Marie had left, and Goggles was leaning against Hachi. Hachi noticed Hivemind walking toward his coat and to the door. "Where are you going?" Hachi asked, wiping his nose. Hivemind paused as he was about to open the doors again. "I'm going to solve all these issues with Vintage. There's something strange that I need to fix. You're my work partner, you're supposed to help me." Hivemind frowned and left the hospital once again. Hachi looked down a bit, but didn't say anything. He knew Hivemind was right.

Hivemind walked silently as he tried to search for the forest. That's where Vintage was. But it was a bit difficult. He had no water, no food, and no communication. To make it worse, it was hot outside. Extremely hot outside. He still managed those hours either way.

No one ever saw him since the day of his departure..

[BONUS PART: MARIE'S BIRTHDAY]

"Happy birthday to yooouuu...!" Hachi, Hivemind, and other patients sang. Marie giggled. "Thanks, everyone!" She said, and blew out her candles. While she was laughing with the others, she didn't notice that Hivemind was behind her. Hachi chuckled and chanted, "Take a bite!" While everyone chanted the same thing too. "Okay, okay!" She smiled and leaned in the cake to take a bite. But she didn't notice Hivemind behind her, so when she leaned in, he pushed her head into the cake. Everyone laughed hard after he did that. Marie quickly put her head up, and licked some of the frosting. "Why you-!!" She grinned and threw some cake at Hivemind as well. "Happy birthday, Marie!" Hivemind laughed out.

Chapter Text

Hivemind continued his journey. Even though it was rough to get through, he still managed and reached the forest, which was now a bit cooler. Hivemind walked and walked.. until eventually he came across a path. He followed that path, and it let to a small, sort of old, and a bit destroyed shed. The shed had no doors, and the only door-like thing was a drooping branch with leaves. "This is where Vintage lives..?" He looked around, confused. Hivemind knew this was trespassing in a way, but he had no care for it right now... so he decided to just simply go inside the shed.

"Hello..? Anyone home..?" He peeked his head inside. The only thing Hivemind saw was a fruit pile, mostly full of berries and apples. And there was a small knife on the floor, made of a tooth and a twig. "Hmm. Well I am hungry.." He went to grab a fruit. But he paused.. because he heard the leaves rustling. "..Shit." He turned around and saw an inkling with a mask on, and full of scars. They hissed loudly and yelled. "EEK!! A CRITTER!!" The inkling yelled through their mask and pointed a crossbow at Hivemind. Hivemind quickly raised his hands, dropping the fruit. "DON'T HURT ME, IM A DOCTOR!!" He covered his head. The inkling put their crossbow down afterwards and calmed down. "Well why didn't you say so?" They took off their mask. "Also, is that you, Hivemind? I've never seen your eyes before!" Aloha exclaimed, laughing.

"Huh..? Who are you..? I've never seen you before..." Hivemind trembled and lowered his hands. Aloha cleared his throat. "I'm Aloha! Formerly apart of Team Pink and the S4! Now I'm just a primal hunter who's just trying to survive." He smiled. Hivemind looked unamused. "You're not even Hawaiian... anyway, Aloha... how come you're so... yknow, that?" He looked at Aloha up and down. "Oh.. well...I'm just working with Vintage to survive. He promised me food, and-" Hivemind's eyes widened at the mention of Vintage. "Hold up, Vintage!? Where is he!?" He gripped onto Aloha. Aloha pushed him off. "Why do you need to know? And don't touch me like that, creep. I don't like when someone just grabs me." He frowned. Hivemind sighed. "Look, just tell me. I really need to tell him something.."

Aloha took a deep breath. "Your promise you won't tell him that I led you to him?" He tilted his head. Hivemind nodded, so Aloha quickly told him. After, Hivemind thanked him. "Thanks.. Aloha. I'll see you later, I guess." And Hivemind quickly set off again, in search of Vintage. He followed the path that Aloha told him to go in, and as quickly as he left, he arrived at the cabin that Aloha told him to go at. He gulped and knocked on the door. Mitsuami opened the door. "Oh. You again. Look, Vintage doesn't want anything to do with you. So go back to your hospital." She closed the door, but Hivemind put his foot in before she could close it. "Please! I need to talk to him.." He looked desperate.

"...Fine." She opened the door and let Hivemind in. Hivemind looked around the cabin. "So... where is he?" Mitsuami closed the door. "I dunno. But what did you come here for?" She asked. Hivemind sighed.

"That's another story."

Oof sorry I haven't been updating this fic recently, I've been kinda burnt out on continuing it but it's whatever

For now I'll just say that the fic will be on temporary hiatus, sorry. I'll try to finish it when school starts for me.

Chapter Text

Mitsuami had her arms crossed, wondering what Hivemind could possibly want at that hour. "Well? Hurry. Vintage will return soon, and he will kick your ass all the way to when humans still existed." Hivemind took a deep breath, and then spoke. "I'm here to make a truce. That's all. I don't want him to remain angry at me because of something cruel I did. So please. Just tell me where he is." He sighed. "Then you would've fixed everything 10 years ago." Vintage grumbled, cocking a gun at Hivemind from behind. Hivemind flinched.

"Don't.. move.." Vintage muttered. "Little ol' Aloha told me where you were. I'm so glad I trust that fuzzball.." Vintage grinned. Suddenly, when he was distracted, Ocho came at him from his blind side, tackling Vintage to the ground. Hivemind quickly turned around, gasping at the sight of the two boys fighting.
Ocho landed punches at Vintage, while Vintage tried to shoot Ocho. "Damn it, Ocho!! Get off of me, you stupid-" Ocho cut him off. "Get off of you my ass! You need to get over it, Vin!" Mitsuami and Hivemind just watched as they both fought, shocked by the sudden hostility. "Psst. Follow me," Mitsuami whispered to Hivemind. Hivemind nodded and followed her, the two walking away from the situation.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Hachi was mixing up chemicals to find the cure. "When will I ever finish..?" He muttered, rubbing his eyes. Suddenly, when mixing up a chemical, Hachi's hand started to hurt really badly. "....Ow.. what the..?" He winced in pain, dropping the beaker he had. It shattered to pieces, but Hachi didn't care at the moment. Instead, he tried to handle the pain without screaming. Hachi's skin began to turn into fur, and his hands began to grow enormous and sharp claws. "M-Maybe kissing Goggles wasn't the best idea..." he whispered. His lab coat began to rip, his fur easily ripping through the thin fabric.

"I really liked this coat.." he grumbled, his left eye closed shut from the pain. He then suddenly roared in pure agony as his teeth shifted from mildly sharp to fully sharp, and more sharp teeth growing in. Before he knew it, Hachi was now a ferocious fuzzy. He turned to the exit of his lab and ran, now in search of Marie..

Mitsuami and Hivemind ran away from the forest, and away from the conflict between Vintage and Ocho. Hivemind let out short pants as he ran, while Mitsuami huffed and screamed. (pls tell me you guys get the reference istg) Then they both stopped for a breather. Hivemind was the one who was the most exhausted, and he was on his knees, huffing. "Holy.. so much.. running.." He nearly fell on the hot desert sand they were at now. "Really got to ya, huh?" Mitsuami wiped her forehead. Hivemind huffed some more and nodded.

"I'll show myself out at the hospital then.."

When Hivemind approached the hospital, he noticed something...off with the hospital. But he decided not to pay much attention to it. As he unlocked the doors, he walked inside, and noticed the lobby lights were shut off. He tried to turn it back on with the light switch, but it didn't seem to work. Hivemind had just figured that Marie or Hachi had just made a mistake with the lights. He grabbed a flashlight and switched it on, walking towards his room.

Hivemind walked through the dark hallways with his light, trying to navigate his room. But as he walked, he heard a few thuds in the ceiling. He looked up, wondering what those noises were about. "Hello..?" He whispered. No response. Hivemind just decided to shrug it off for now. He continued to walk through, until he spotted a dark silhouette at the end of the hallway. It was Hachi's silhouette. Hivemind flashed the light at Hachi's back, but Hachi immediately turned and hissed, his eyes a different color. Fuzzy eyes. Hivemind yelped and quickly turned off the light. He just decided to walk past Hachi, not flashing the light at all. He couldn't risk getting attacked..

But as Hivemind was almost to his room, Hachi crawled in front of him... and when Hivemind flashed that light once more, Hachi arose and hissed in Hivemind's face. (fnaf jumpscare) Hivemind screamed and rushed to his room, dropping the flashlight. He shut the door and panted, terrified from the encounter. "What... happened to him..?" He clutched his chest. He looked around his room, trying to search for something to call for help. His phone was the first thing he spotted.

With shaky hands, Hivemind grabbed his phone, trying to call Marie. He was only left with Marie's voice message. He called and called.. to no avail. Hachi, or now fuzzy Hachi, had probably got to her too. Hivemind slid against the wall, sitting on the floor and wrapping his arms around his legs. "What did I do to deserve this..?" He muttered to himself, tears welling up in his eyes. He lost everything at that point. Rider, Marie, Hachi, Goggles, Fierce, Callie.... everything dear to him was gone.

Meanwhile....
Back at the camp where Rider had been shot in the head, his body twitched a bit.. and his breathing had come back. He then opened his eyes, looking around. Blurry. Rider slowly sat up, rubbing the spot where Hivemind had shot him. Seems like it healed. But he was enraged... so enraged he could kill someone.

Chapter Text

Rider was angry. Angry that he had (almost) died that way.. angry that Hivemind betrayed him like that. He snarled and took a deep breath, before screaming at the top of his lungs.

"HIVEMIND!!!!!!!!" Rider screeched, his voice echoing through the area. Afterwards, he got up and ran in search of that wretched hospital.

Meanwhile, Hivemind sobbed to himself, still grieving over losing his coworkers. But when he heard that screech.. he knew he was in danger. "What the..?" He gulped. Before he could react, he heard thudding in the ceiling again. Even though it was risky, Hivemind finally decided to check it out. It would be bad either way. He looked at the vent in the ceiling, and reached up on his toes.

Hivemind couldn’t reach it.

He groaned in frustration and tried to reach higher, but he couldn’t. Nothing worked, and he would have to simply accept that he’s short. All Hivemind could do was to just stare at the vent. He squinted to try to see it better, but when he did so, Marie, or fuzzy Marie came down from the vent, scratching Hivemind’s eye. Hivemind yelled in pain and clutched his eye, backing away from the vent. Blood splattered to the ground as he clutched his eye tightly. Marie, still hanging from the vent, hissed at Hivemind and went back up.

Hivemind silently whimpered and cried, his tears mixed with blood from the scratch. He ran out of his room again, not noticing that Hachi was still out there, and now chasing him down the hallway. Hivemind desperately tried to reach the medic room, where he kept all the medical supplies. But it was locked. He turned around and saw Hachi slowly approaching him, those pink eyes staring back at his eyes. “What happened to you..?” Hivemind quietly said, stepping closer to Hachi. Hachi snarled.

“It’s me..”

Hivemind softly said, patting Hachi’s now fuzzy hair. Hachi flinched from the touch and bared his teeth. He was too far gone. But as Hivemind was distracted by Hachi… Rider, undead and crawling, came from behind Hivemind and scratched his leg. Hivemind yelled in pain and quickly moved out of instinct, kicking Hachi in the process. Hachi yelped and backed away, now frightened of Hivemind. Rider, however.. growled as he looked at Hivemind.

“This is what you deserve…”

Chapter Text

Hivemind backed away as Rider got closer to him, trying to find something that he could hit him with. Nothing. As Hivemind was distracted looking for a weapon, Rider took his chance and jumped at Hivemind, biting his arm. Hivemind screamed and tried to shake Rider off, but it only caused Rider to bite deeper. Rider pulled at Hivemind's arm, making the skin rip and expose the flesh beneath it.

Blood splattered everywhere as the scene continued, and Hachi just stood there the entire time, unfazed. (😭) He decided to walk it off for now. Hachi walked through the dark hallways, until he felt something on his back. He turned around and saw Goggles. Goggles grinned. "Thought I was done with you?" He pinned Hachi to the wall. "Goggles..? What are you-" Goggles silenced him with a nip to the neck, which made Hachi yelp in pleasure.

"You drive me crazy seeing you like this..."

Goggles huffed and continued leaving love marks on Hachi's neck. Hachi bit his lip and stifled back moans, his claws unsheathing to hold onto Goggles' back. "You made me this way.." Hachi moaned out. Goggles pulled back from his neck and smirked. "Good." He leaned into Hachi and pulled him into a passionate kiss while his hands wandered over Hachi's body. Hachi kissed back, and the two interlocked tongues as they slowly undressed each other. (fuzzy yaoi)

"Now you're driving me crazy.." Hachi pulled away for a moment and panted, before leaning back and kissing Goggles again. Goggles grinned through kisses. "Heh... I'm so lucky.."

Meanwhile, Hivemind with a now broken arm just stared at the two from the door, frowning. "So the fanfic is just gonna be taken over by them?" Hivemind grumbled, casually just breaking the fourth wall as I'm typing this. "I saw that." He growled.

Chapter Text

As Hivemind was confronting the two fuzzies, Hachi and Goggles, Rider snuck up to all of them, getting ready to attack. But just as he was about to, Hivemind turned around and struck Rider, kicking across his face. "AGHHHH!!!" Rider snarled in pain. Hachi and Goggles immediately went to check on Rider, while Hivemind took his chance and ran.

"Got to run.. got to hide.." Hivemind muttered, grabbing his valuable stuff and leaving the hospital. He didn't even look back. "It's just a dream.." He huffed, clutching at his bleeding arm. Hivemind ran past the deserts, the camps, and into the forest, where the encounter with Vintage took place. Though, when he arrived, he discovered that Aloha, the fuzzy that had helped him, was standing in front of him, seeming terrified of something. But what?

"Aloha-?" Hivemind began, but Aloha shushed him. "Q-Quiet.." Aloha prepared his crossbow, ready to shoot. "Something went wrong with Vintage... he turned into one of them.." Aloha looked at Hivemind. Hivemind was puzzled. "But... I thought he-" Aloha cut him off again. "No, that.. that wasn't the case.. a fuzzy came at him a while ago.. and he got bitten. I was there when it happened. He was frustrated at me because I talked to you, but then that just happened." He sighed. Hivemind's gaze softened. "Wait.. but what about Mitsuami? Or Ocho?" Aloha gulped. "They ran away... Somewhere.. I don't know where.."

Hivemind raised an eyebrow. Aloha was there.. but he didn't know where they were? Was he joking?

"Wait, wait, wait. So you were arguing with Vintage, then a fuzzy attacked him, then the others ran.. but you don't even know where they went!?" Hivemind was getting frustrated again. Aloha flinched. "I swear, I dont know! They just ran!! Why are you so pressed anyway!?" He trembled. Hivemind growled. "Because it was all.." Hivemind slowly transformed into a fuzzy. "..IT WAS ALL VINTAGE'S FAULT!!" He unsheathed his black claws, scratching Aloha's face. Aloha winced and backed away, dropping his crossbow. "What the-!?" Aloha looked up at Hivemind. Hivemind's eyes were now pink, his skin had developed a thin layer of fur, and he had gotten taller.

That was the last time Aloha would see the light of day.

Chapter Text

Blood poured from the now lifeless body of Aloha. Hivemind's pink eyes stared down at the poor fuzzy he had just mauled, feeling no sense of remorse or pity. That was until he suddenly found his consciousness again, and realized what he had done.

Hivemind killed Aloha. He really did.. And it wasn't just Aloha that he had put in danger.. he put everyone in danger. Everything had been his fault. Guilt gnawed at Hivemind's insides, filling him up with grief as well. "What have I done..?" He leaned against a tree, looking at his hands. "Im a monster..." Hivemind then slowly started to sob, feeling guilty for all he had caused. He should've never killed or hurt anyone in the first place.

Meanwhile..

Hachi and Goggles stayed at the hospital, alarmed at the sight of Rider, who was approaching them. "Stay back!!" Hachi snarled, his fur rising a bit. Goggles hissed at Rider as well. Until Rider decided to pounce. He pounced onto Goggles, attacking him more brutally than before. "Agh!!" Goggles grunted. Rider bit into Goggles' neck hard, ripping off the bandage. Hachi screamed and desperately tried to pull Rider away, but Rider just kept on mauling Goggles. "NO!!" Hachi cried out as he could only watch Goggles risk his life for his love.

Just as Rider was about to kill Goggles, (again 💀) Ocho and Mitsuami broke through the window, seeing the situation. Ocho ran up to the trio. "Okay, you three all have to get out of here. Fast.." Hachi looked up at Ocho. "But where will we-..?" Mitsuami cut him off. "Just listen to him!!" She exclaimed, helping up Goggles. Rider had already ran out, and Hivemind was already gone.

Ocho and Mitsuami with the others evacuated the hospital, making sure to get the other two to safety. "We're taking you to Splatsville. They have the cure there." Mitsuami panted, holding up Goggles' heavy body. Hachi was confused. "Wait, but-" Ocho growled.

"No time for questions!" He threw their stuff into the train that had stopped for them, and led the others inside. Once inside the train, Ocho quickly assessed Goggles' injuries. "Jesus, he's hurt bad.." Ocho winced. He grabbed a few bandages and wrapped Goggles' injuries with it. Hachi looked out the window the entire time. "...Splatsville..." he grumbled lowly. Mitsuami reassured him. "Don't worry, for us, it's home.. but for you.."

She sighed.

"Its a new chapter."

15 years later..

A male inkling reporter was sitting down with Hivemind during a live TV show, asking him questions. It was going well, until the reporter asked a personal question.

"And how do you feel about your past today? Are you glad you survived?"

...

Hivemind stayed silent for a few moments, until he answered, taking off his mask.

"I wish I had been dead."

He was scarred all over, from tentacles to body. And he was old now. 47 years old. But was it worth it in the end?
