Chapter 1: Party Poison

Chapter Text

Party fidgeted with their red and yellow bracelet on their wrist. They were sitting outside with Jet and Kobra. It had been a week since Jet joined Kobra out here, and Party was already in the routine of visiting every morning. They heard the door open behind them and turned to see Ghoul. Its hair was still messy from sleep and they were holding a can of Power Pup.

"Come on Pois, it's breakfast time." It walked over and offered his open hand to pull Party up.

They walked inside and sat down in the nearest diner booth, accepting the can that Ghoul slid them.

"Got any plans for today Ghoulie?"

"Actually! Yes!"

"Oh?"

It smiled to himself.

"Oh no, what are you plotting?"

"Nothin... just got a new idea for a bomb, gonna need some supplies though."

"So ya wanna head to the Zone 4 markets?"

"Yeah! That all good with you? Wanna come with and bring Girlie?" Ghoul was beaming now, it's been a while since they've been to the markets.

"Yeah, sure. Could probably do us all some good to get out. I'll go get Girlie up."

Ghoul chuckled. "Good luck with that!"

They laughed as they stood and headed down the hall to Girlie's room. They knocked and slowly pushed the door open. She laid sprawled out on top of one of her blankets, the others laid bunched up on the floor. She held Jet's rabbit loosely with one hand. Party walked up to the side of the bed and gently shook her shoulder.

"Hey sleepyhead, it's time to get up." They spoke as the girl groaned and started to open her eyes. She quickly grabbed the blanket and rolled away from them though. "Come on Girlie, we're going to the market today." This got her attention and she sat up quickly, somehow seeming much more awake all the sudden.

"Really? REALLY?! Can we get more spray paint??" She started to get up and put on her boots.

"Sure! How about you change out of your pajamas before putting on your boots though!" They laughed and ruffled her hair before leaving the room.

When they got back to Ghoul it was cleaning out the cans and storing them away. It only took a few minutes before The Girl ran into the room and started tugging on their arm.

"Let's go, let's go!!" Party let her pull them a few steps before stopping to ask Ghoul to grab her something she could eat. It nodded and grabbed a baggie of dog biscuits they had prepared for situations where they would need to eat on the road.

Party set Girlie in the back of the car with her rabbit and Ghoul handed her the biscuits as he climbed in next to her. Party hopped in the driver seat, started the engine, and started driving to Zone 4. Maybe today things would start better.

Chapter 2: Party Poison

Chapter Text

FUCK! WHAT THE SHIT??

Party scooped Ghoul in their arms. Their boyfriend, their last remaining crew member, the one they'd sworn they'd do everything to protect.

Blood. Fuck there was so much blood.

Blood. FUCK, there was so much blood. Why the fuck is this happening again? Again?? Fucking again??

Everything was fine. Everything wasn't really fine, but today had been the closest they had gotten to normal since losing Jet.

"I'm sorry... sorry."

"No no no baby it's not your fault it's not..." They had all gone shopping together, everything was just fine. They found everything they needed, didn't start any fights, even found the spray paint for Girlie. Things were gonna start being ok again. "...It's not your fault, it's not your fault..." Hell, today things have started to feel ok again! "...not your fault baby I promise." Things are never going be ok again. They couldn't have had one good day with their family before another one of them fucking died???

Today they bought the parts Ghoul needed for a bomb. The same bomb that somehow fucking exploded here in his garage. While he was working on it? Had to have been, considering all the fucking pieces of... whatever the fuck was... splattered behind him.

"Well Isn't this what we always joked about anyway?"

"Ghoulie not the time!" Unbelievably Ghoul chuckled a little as he snuggled his head closer into Party's shoulder. Party supported him by gripping near his shoulder... right arm... fuck... where his arm right arm had been. Party shook away the thought and focused on Ghoul's eyes.

"Shit..." He winced and squinted. "Just don't... don't you die too alright?" Ghoul coughed and wheezed. Party clutched him closer.

They were holding Kobra, trying to stop the bleeding by holding his jacket closer around him.

"Fuck Ghoulie not you fucking too I can't do this. I can't be without you. I can't be without you."

"For Girlie... Girlie." Party fought back the tears blurring their vision, but fuck he was right.

"Ok." They gave a weak nod. "Girlie, right, I'll live for her alright? She'll be ok. I promise, I promise."

Ghoul hummed an agreement. It met their eyes for a moment before coughing again. "Fuck... I..." His breaths were getting shallower. Party figured by the blood continuing to pool on the ground, that he really didn't have much longer. "Love ya... I love ya."

Party held their hand on the side of his palling face. "I love you too baby- love ya so much..." Their sobs grew more frantic as they ran their hand through its hair, tears mixing with blood. "...your so special to me, Ghoulie, your my Ghoulie, my Ghoulie..." They pressed a kiss to his forehead.

"Koby.. Koby... I'm right here." There were few other true words of comfort they could have offered in this situation, and they couldn't have brought themself to lie to him.

"I'm right here ok? I've got you..." Ghoul's eyes softened, but never left Party's. He took another shaky breath. Suddenly, Party realized what it really needed to hear. “...You can let go…” They whispered, their heart constricted itself. They could feel him untense in his arms. "...I've got you... You're so loved... baby I love you, you mean everything to me, Ghoulie... Ghoulie." And at some point, the eye contact was broken by a soft drifting, ever so slightly away. Accompanied by a soft last breath.

Party stayed, for who knows how long. Cause what else is left to do when you hold your dead lover in your arms, alone.
