Chapter 1: Perfect family

Chapter Text

Rick hated a lot of things. But one thing he hated the most was people going into his garage when he's gone. Even more, he hates people going into his basement. His hatred replayed in his mind while he stared at the dinner and juice sitting on his work table, and the notes left around the room.

Rick tore every single one down. Not because he was evil. Just because whoever put them there broke the rules, HIS rules. Which was ironic since laws are technically rules. And he’s broken every single law. The only reason he didn't toss the notes was clear. The signature.

“Your Granddaughter, (Y/n)”

They were all sweet things, telling him to eat slowly so he doesn't choke and the salt and pepper was by his food. But a note by the door proved otherwise (apparently you had locked yourself out trying to bring it to him).

Of course, he should've known that you’d try to weasel her way into the garage. He put all the notes on his desk before continuing his duty. Before this, he was on another planet settling duties with an assassin who was due to take out his weapons supplier.

Whoever sent her, had obviously sent her as bait, she was carrying raw crystals from Xen Prime. Everyone knew they were very rare and sought after. Sending her into a club full of power hungry murderers and money chasers has done it intentionally. He didn't understand why he cared so much. Truth was he didn't. He didn't know why he was wondering to himself so hard about the story of someone who unintentionally stepped in his way.

Oh well. It didn't matter. All he should worry about now was the buzzing of the radiator and the gentle clink of the crystals as they rolled around in the bag he put in his safe.

His blood soaked footsteps made squelching noises as he unconsciously walked around the room. Rick usually missed dinner, but his family didn't make the effort to save him a plate.. other than his middle granddaughter. He scowled. She always thinks everything is all roses and tea parties and trips to boob world whenever he misses dinner. But he was out there damn near killing himself protecting his family and his dragon hoard of knowledge.

He envied your childlike emotions and expressions, the way you behaved like a normal person. But you weren't normal. Rick would sit there for hours in his hologram room replaying your reaction to gifts or your midnight grandpa granddaughter dinners or the way you'd grin so big when he made fun of your dad.

You were a fucking seductress. A siren. Instead of singing about what he wants most, you sang about how much you loved him and the family he so carelessly abandoned. Yeah. He will never forget the day you comforted him after Jerry and Beth both had closed themselves off to him. They had rejected him. But you didn't. You had a big ass bowl of your favorite snack and a bottle of blibz soda and you sat between his legs in his room and watched Barney or my little pony until you fell asleep.

Rick quickly disposed of his clothes and changed without worry about the tattered and dingy pair he was wearing. He ultimately didn't care how his space looked since it was his. The only person who cared was you. Since you seemed to always manage to trip over everything.

He took a swig from his flask and reached for a button but he drew back. He sat in silence for a moment, the house was insanely still. No Beth and Jerry arguing, no Morty asking for stuff and Summer was having a sleep over at Tricia's house. He settled back in his seat and hit the button, his work station cleaned itself and he sat back, staring at the photo of you he had on his wall.

Fuck. He was such a disgusting perverted scumbag. The whole trip he was fantasizing about you. The way when you cried you'd nuzzle your way between his thighs and look up at him with teary puppy dog eyes. The way you called him “baba” or “papa” even when Jerry was in the room. A sick pleasure from a mixture of superiority and making Jerry feel insecure.

The only reason he managed to get the crystals was because he was a sick fucker. He had lied to the assassin, told her about how much of an amazing father and grandparent he was. Showing the pictures and visions of you and Morty baking cakes when you were younger and Beth carrying you like you were a toy airplane. Visions that brought her to tears, visions that dissolved her resolve enough for her to get a drink. He had a boner, thinking about you sitting on his lap. He couldn't shake the thought so he excused himself to the bathroom.

She obviously thought he was crying, like he was capable of feeling that much emotion from a glorified flashback. Well he was and his dick was pounding. Of course when she tried to ask what's wrong the Crystals fell from her pocket and the entire club went bat shit crazy. He barely managed to grab them and escape but not without a hefty amount of murder and assault.

His mind went back to the thought he had at the bar. The thought of fucking your mouth while you were crying between his thighs over your mom getting drunk and yelling at you. Your watery eyes shaking as he creampies your mouth, telling you everything will be okay. As long as you're happy he is. You were so caring of him despite all of these feelings he had. It made him mad.

His mind gushed over that morning, you had run into the garage with his lunch and kissed his cheek goodbye. Your soft rosy lips were so warm and perfect. His cock twitched at the thought of her lips wrapped around it. He was a gross old man.

“Fuck.. me..” Rick groaned, the fabric of his pants rubbed against the sensitive spot on his cock. He couldn't contain himself. The feeling of disgust and guilt was overwhelmed by the urge to release, even if it was to his teenage grand daughter who idolized him.

He clenched his jaw as his hand ran up and down his cock, he used his spit as lube. Rick moaned, leaning his head back as his cock seemed to buck into his hand. He felt pathetic, he felt barbaric, he felt raw and Alive. He envisioned the day you sucked his fingers clean when he wanted you to try his food to make sure it wasn't poisoned. Of course he knew it wasn't, that's Morty's job. He just wanted to see what you'd do if you were potentially poisoned. But that's what he told himself whenever he did anything with you. A test.

Rick called out your name by accident, moaning and grunting as he found himself so close to releasing, spurting his cum all over his hands and the floor. He cursed under his breath and took a precarious sip from his flask. He zipped up his pants and found his breath.

He felt guilty but God damn did it feel so good. Whenever he came to the thought of you he always came so much harder than when he wasn't. Ugh, the post nut clarity hit harder though. He rubbed his tired eyes and dragged himself from his garage and found himself gliding up the stairs and towards his room.

He stopped, however, his eyes looked in the direction of your room. He smiled softly. The door opened with a creek as he peaked in. He smiled at your sleeping frame and your Innocent demeanor. The childlike way you hid under your sheets. You were scared of the dark. He began to sink away to get himself to bed. It was 1 in the morning so who could blame him. Nobody was supposed to be awake. Especially after the day everyone had.

Except for you.

“Rick..?”

His heart leaped out of his chest. He almost dropped his flask.

“Uh.. y-*brpp*yeah it's me. Grandpa.” Rick said, lowering his voice to a whisper. “I-i thought you were.. asleep.” Rick took your sudden consciousness as permission to enter your room, sauntering around slowly.

“Since you're awake, stay out of my *brpp* fucking garage. Y-you could get shot by lasers or something. I don't need to eat everything you do-*brp*oo.”

You stared blankly at him, so he didn't know you were downstairs..

You hadn't.. meant to see that. ANY of that.

You just so happened to be awake at the time you knew he'd be back and waited by his door with a glass of water.

Truth be told he usually jerks off in the bathroom, his toothbrush in his mouth but.. fuck.

You're a pervert. You had butterflies in your crotch. It wasn't easy to admit you had a small crush on your grandpa. You would routinely watch him masturbate. You'd set an alarm for the time he'd usually get home and you'd sneak around or coincidentally have a nightmare. If anyone found out about your creeping.. you'd lie and say you heard something outside your window. But that wouldn't describe why you were creepily waiting for your grandpa to get home. Dear god. This is literally going to end whatever happy go lucky family relationship you both had…

“Did you hear any of what I ju-ust said? Or are you Jerry's daughter now?” Rick said, barely able to see your eyes open in the darkness of your room. He flickers on your lamp light and leaned down over you. The hand he used to.. he used was laid across your forehead.

You couldn't even call it happy, it was on record he took every chance to be mean, snarky or down right rude to you and your family. But what were you meant to call it now? It was ass before but now it's even more ass-y? You didn't know what it was but what you DO know is that you weren't mistaken, he was moaning your name. Looking at you. Thinking of you.

You didn't know what to think or what to say other than you felt whatever he did times ten. But why was he wasting his time jerking off. He could watch porn, make a device to make women fall for him, he could make robots..Everything he's already done and more probably. It felt… barbaric? As if he was hiding from himself when he did it.

“sorry” You barely managed to choke out. You watched him process your answer as if he could see straight past your lies.

“I shouldn't have to tell you this. Sl-*brpp*eep well or whatever.” Soon, he was out the door. You clicked the lamp light off, rubbing your eyes. The light burned them, it was too bright. You laid still until you could hear your grandpa's door close and the sound of him snoring.

Your thighs were soaked in sweat. You rolled around and looked at the door. You finally closed your eyes. You'd rather a monster appear from the dark and eat you than wake up and face the truth.

You woke up in a tantalizing daze, feeling your head spin with curiosity. Or maybe you were just sleep deprived. You looked over at your clock and sighed. It was 8:51am. You sighed and rolled from your bed.

You did your hair and took a shower, changing your pajamas and your underwear. On your way down to breakfast you trip on the 12th step down and fall flat on your face, which gains a exotic response from your family: laughter. Everyone but Rick.

“Hun, I thought I told you no more T.V after 11:30!” Your mom scolded you the moment you recovered from the fall. She pretended to be mad but she laughed more. This made Rick raise his eyebrows.

“What's this about T.V?” Rick said, raising an eyebrow. “I-i didn't go across the galaxy to get a crystal for interdimensional cable for you all to not watch it.”

“Oh yeah moms being a total almond mom now. Look at the cabinets.. and worst of all we can't watch interdimensional cable after mom goes to bed.” Summer was glued to her phone, barely looking up long enough to see his response.

“N-*brp-nnoo. About the.. the time?” Rick said. “Why are you going to bed so late? And it's summer! Why can't they watch t.v?”

“I know what you're going to say dad ‘calm down I didn't give you any limits when you were a kid’ but you were and still are an awful father.” Your mom folded her arms and immediately Morty and Summer jumped to Rick's defense.

“Why do you guys always support him? I don't care what you think! I shouldn't be going to bed at 12:30 and hear your sister's t.v playing.. I don't know, SpongeBob? South Park??” Beth put her foot down. Rick's face changed and he got up from the table, dismissing himself.

“W-well when you're done punishing your kids for ee-*brp*-njoying my creations, call me.” Rick left his plate at the table. You finally relaxed and began scarfing down your pancakes and eggs. Man. It tasted so fucking good. No wonder dad married her.

Morty immediately blamed your mother for Rick being distant, which didn't make the already tense meal better. You ate your pancakes in silence, hoping to avoid whatever they have going on.

After breakfast you decided you'd go ahead and clean the dishes for your mom and let her do something else.. like getting red wine drink at 9 in the morning to drown her sorrows about her dad and husband.

After the dishes, You were bored. You found yourself being bored more often in the summer. While your grandpa was off on adventures with Morty, Summer or both, you stayed home and hid from your parents while they fought. Or more commonly, got drunk and got into more physical fights.

You'd rather die than admit you were jealous. Because you weren't. And you were taught to never lie. Life was difficult for you in the smith family, you barely felt like a smith. You were the middle child after all.

Your grandpa favored Morty over you and your parents loved summer. This was clear from the time they all went camping and subsequently forgetting you at home. Or the time they went to the amusement park and left you at the hotel. Or the time they went out to grab takeout and forgot your order entirely.

Or the time during Christmas your grandpa got Morty a light saber and Summer money but didn't end up getting you anything.

Or the time Summer got a stat slider and Morty got to pick an adventure.. but when you asked if he could persuade mom to let you sleep over with your friends it was an automatic no.

You bit your tongue. You love your grandpa despite all of this, he was old and forgetful and most importantly he was caring for you. He was your grandpa, he isn't obligated to do anything for you. But your parents. Your fucking parents.

Ever since Rick crashed his ship, he began staying at the house more. He had to repair it after all, he claimed he'd fix it sooner than later but you didn't know about that. You decided to knock yourself out of your random daze of standing in the kitchen with your hands in the hot dish water that was cooling down rapidly and enter the garage.

“Grandpa?” You found yourself standing in the doorway. But it was empty. You looked around and closed the door. That was odd. Maybe he was in his room.. you skipped up the stairs without falling and rounded the corner to his room. It was right by yours which was… convenient? It made sneaking around at night easy. If he wasn't home you'd sneak out through his bedroom window and go get food.

You opened the door and peeked inside. The smell of alcohol was pungent, it punched you in the face but you were more than used to it at this point.

“Grandpa?” You said. It was silent until a small voice came.

“If your name starts with a J and you're married to my daughter don't even bother. I-if *brp* you're trying to ask for something, the answer is no.” Rick was laying on the floor. You rolled your eyes and stepped inside. “Oh. It's you. What do you want now? Gunna bother me about my fu-*brpp*uucking ship?” Rick was defensive when he was drunk.

You didn't answer his question, he was going to complain if you said yes or no. You began scooping up empty cans and tossing them in the trash, alongside bottles and odd empty bags with weird colored powders. These days he was reallyy trying to get people to comment on his ship. If you told him to do it, it would have given him no motivation to do it. And if you didn't tell him to do it he'd get mad you didn't tell him to do it.

“H-hey! Where do you get off too*brp*ouching my shit!?” Rick glared at you. He hated it when you cleaned up after him. He hated it so much he fucking loved it. You cared for him even though he was an awful father and grandpa. You cared even if he didn't care about you, you soaked up negativity and spat out positivity like some sort of glorified water filter but for emotions.

“Rick, respectfully, it's a mess in here. You can't live like a redneck. Also where's your laundry..? Now, tropical paradise or Vanilla sugar cookie?” You held up two air freshener cans and he groaned.

“I don't need ei-” he began to speak but you chose for him. Vanilla sugar cookie it was. You sprayed a thick amount in the air, going as far as dragging in the humidifier. It was dry as fuck in there.

Ok. Rick laid there like a sack of potatoes, he had absolutely zero intentions on moving at all that day, he wanted to be drunk and lazy. Which made you upset. Morty was busting his ass trying to get Rick motivated and Summer was trying to convince your mom and dad to go to couples therapy.

You bit your cheek. You watched him lay there and groan, staring at the ceiling. You rolled your eyes and dropped down to the ground.

“the f-*brp*uuck are you doing?” He said, looking down at his arm. You were lying beside him, you had wrapped his arm around you. Why did you have to nuzzle yourself around him like a fucking lapdog? “Ohh you wanna cuddle with your old grand-*brpp”dpa Rick?” He looked down at you and you nodded.

“Too bad, I have work to get done,” Rick got up faster than you can process what he even said. “Alright, now get out before I turn the lights off and trap you in here with the closet monster.”

He watched you as you maliciously planted yourself on his floor. No intent on moving. Rick was too old for this shit. Despite having a robotic spine and one too many strength boosters, he felt like he belonged in a retirement home instead of his apparent room turned daycare. He slung you over his shoulder, you smelled like strawberries and cola. He tossed you outside the door and locked it.

“Why don't you bother ss-*brp*someone else? I'm not playing games with you.” He immediately left you in the hall as he went down the stairs. God, he loved your determination.

“Hey! That's not fair, if you won't do your laundry someone has to! Not everyone can just.. magic up new clothes!” You ran after him and crossed your arms. Rick did a slow turn, he looked offended.

“You're r-right, not everyone can magic up clothes. Not even I can do that. Because I use something called science. Which is very real and ree-*brpp*spectable.” Rick loved shoving his knowledge in your face, it makes you try harder, your cheek would grow red and your voice pitches. You'd stomp your feet and point at him and accuse him of making you sound stupid.

Rick disappeared though the dining area and to the garage. You hopped down the remaining stairs and followed him to the garage. You watched as he busied himself with his car parts.

“Rick! boob World added new attractions! The busty bumper cars!” Morty came rushing into the garage. Apparently he had seen the ad too. Interdimensional cable was going to kill Rick. You could see Rick's frustration grow as Morty rambled on and on. “I-i really think this is our calling y-yknow- to finally go to boob world again!”

“Morty I swear to go-*brpp*ood.” You watched Rick's face relax. “That's the best idea you've had all year! Morty.. busty bumper cars!” Rick smiled. Morty was practically spinning with joy.

“Boob world.. sounds fun?” You barely muttered that, you were surprised they even heard you. “If you guys go, could I tag along?” You asked.

“Uh oh jeez..sorry boob world is more of a me, Rick and Summer thing..” Morty’s face looked regretful but you understood.

You understood better than he thought you did. Boobworld and sex robots and giant sperm, that was all Rick and Morty and Summer. Hotels where you never die was clearly dad and Rick's thing. For fucks sake, even your mom got to go to space. You thought your dad was the family's toilet paper but you were clearly the fucking rug they wipe their shoes all over. Even that would be more engagement than you actually had.

You ignored these things, you decided you wanted to be.. happy. For now.

Morty departed shortly after, you were just left standing there staring at the floor as Rick tinkered with the parts of his engine.

“Fuck!” Rick shouted, which brought you alive. You finally looked up at the man, who looked over at you. “Why are you still here? I thought you left with Morty, he asked you for help with his history homework.”

“Fuck Morty he can figure that shit out on his own.” You bit back at the man, with a bitter tone. He drew back.

“Woah. That's your brother man..” Rick opened his drawer and began looking through his scrap parts.

“No seriously, if he can't remember who in the Kennedy family was assassinated as President he isn't going to make it past his freshman year.” You sat down, across from Rick.

“N-*brpp*oo It isn't his fault he doesn't remember stupid things such as that. P-*brpp*lus that won't matter when we go to BOOB WORLD!” Rick stared at his options and groaned. “at least it wouldn't if we could go. I don't have anything to power my ship.”

“He's my brother, I get to make fun of him.” You huffed at the man. You were really pushing your luck with him. Two angry people don't make a happy person. “You don't have any pheno skilk? Or even eronic gunpowder?”

“No.. and how do you know those things exist, and better yet how do you know they'd work?” He glared at you from across the table.

“I'm not deaf like Morty or glued to my phone like summer, and I most definitely know you do *not* have lasers protecting your books.” You leaned back in the chair. Rick studied you.

“Woah woah you've been reading my books? You were in my garage when I was GONE?” Rick wasn't as pissed as you thought he'd be. He was… honestly.. Impressed.

“Nobody else is reading them. They've been collecting dust under your desk. Why write it if you're going to hoard all your knowledge to yourself?” You rolled your eyes. Rick hated it when you were nosy. You hated him when he pretended to be so secretive.

Your mind wandered back to last night the crystals he had.

“Ahh.. you wouldn't.. happen to have xennion Primus crystals.. and they don't happen to be.. raw?” You didn't know too much about science on earth. But Xen science was much more interesting. Ever since Rick copied it from his memory, you've been studying it from his point of view.

“Even if I did, that wouldn't work. It would fry the processor.” Rick glanced over at the safe.

“Yes it would! Raw, it's too concentrated. That's why you synthesize it with blue crytzon and condense it. Have you just been stuffing powders and liquids in your car and hoping it starts?” Rick stared at you in awe. How'd you know THAT? He knows you learned from him, his direct writing but.. he'd at least have a memory of figuring that out. Unless he didn't. And you did it.

“Jesus Christ, Paps. Maybe I don't want to go to boob world if you car has a 40 percent chance of fucking imploding if you don't even regulate what you fuel it with!” You get out of your seat. You were still mad about the boob world thing so you were going to go take it out on Morty by telling him the wrong answers to everything.

“Sweetheart, wait.” Your heart hit the floor hard,so hard you almost hit it too. You turned to face Rick who just shot the pet name your way. You bit your cheek to keep you from smiling. “The code to the safe is 1753, the crystals should be in there.” Rick pinched the bridge of his nose.

You walked over the false panel in the wall and typed in the safe combination. You pulled out the bag of crystals. You knew that's what the glow you saw last night was. You handed the crystals to Rick but he averted your gaze.

“I u-*brpp*uhm. Kid how do I say this. I don't know how to.. synthesize the Crystals. You'll need to help me.” Rick's face remained hard. He needed your help. And not just to hand him stuff, but he needed you to.. TEACH him. You grinned.

“What's the magic word~?” You giggled.

“Synthesize the crystals before I pulverize you.” Rick growled.

“Jeez finee, what happened to please?” You got to work fast. You would've called his bluff but your mom and dad both already have done that. What's the chance Rick didn't toss that rotten apple right towards your mother? You shook the thought away of your grandpa ever hitting you. Mostly because you were scared that the part of your brain that wanted to fuck him would like it.

“Dad? can you.. oh..” Beth walked into the garage, she peered into the garage and was met with the pleasant sight of you both doing science stuff together. She grinned. “Hey, can you watch her? I'm taking Morty and Summer to a pool party and I'm going to get my nails done and go grocery shopping.”

“S-*brpp*sure sweetie, you know I l-love my grandkids!” Ric nudged your back playfully and you nodded frantically. Beth looked a little suspicious but shrugged it off as she told her other kids to get in the car.

You immediately got to work submerging the crystals in iodized blue crytzon and heated the beaker up. The crystal rapidly changed colors and let off a few flying sparks. Soon after you used tongs to remove it from the liquid and set it on a machine that roughly did the condensing process. It wasn't meant for it but.. you didn't have time to ask your grandpa to invent a new machine.

Soon you had four midnight colored crystals and a breaker of condensed zenizon fluid.

“There. You have your crystals, you can crush them or you can use them full which will last longer, and your zenizon fluid is used to keep it fresh.” You set down your little experiment in front of Rick, who was following along the entire time.

“How'd my daughter and other grandkids miss the genius gene?” Rick joked. He let out a short laugh as he inspected the crystals. They weren't the purest but what do you expect from a glorified toaster and a human beaker. They can only withstand so much.

“They're all mixed with Jerry,” you snorted. Oh. That's right.

You weren't Jerry's daughter. Or were you. You mentally shrugged. When summer was only like one, Jerry and Beth split up before getting married. In this time Jerry spent his days trying to win back his future wife when Beth was.. open to her options. Yeah. You don't know if Jerry is your father or not. Your mom decided to delude herself instead of taking you both for a paternity test. Back when Rick first came back she went insane. She wanted a happy perfect family. She lost Rick and her husband once and she didn't want to lose them again or her image of a perfect family or her daughter in a court battle since she was a raging alcoholic.

Rick found joy in voiding Jerry the peace of thinking you were his daughter. Like a lot. You did like Jerry when he wasn't a complete baby or a total jerk. But those moments were few and far in-between.

“Damn that was kind of mean,” you giggled a little and looked at your grandpa who was busy drinking more. “it isn't because they're stupid.. it's just that..” you sat in your chair lost in thought.

“You think it's because Morty and Summer already have my *brp* respect?” you look up at Rick.

“No, it's because.. summer is always with her friends, Morty's always with you and mom and dad keep fighting. I have nothing else to do but…study you.” You take the first crystal and grind it into a fine powder before storing it into a jar. Next you begin inserting the next crystal into a glass tube. “I already know mom and dad like the back of my hands. Same with my siblings. But you? I don't even know you.”

Something about the way you said that made Rick's heart stop. He didn't know what to say to make it better, but he couldn't take you on adventures. He couldn't risk your life. The way your eyes light up when he does simplistic things for him. He doesn't want to ruin that by traumatizing you with space monsters.

He hated making you feel the way you do. But he can't be around you if he feels so.. strongly. If anyone found out you'd REALLY never know him. As in he'd have to destroy this planet and move on.. but there isn't another you. Anywhere. Of course Morty is standard, he's everywhere. And Summer is the only reason Beth and Jerry got married in some sort of shotgun wedding. But you were an oddity. Or rather, a rarity.

“How *brp* can you say that to the man that literally made a real life unicorn from my little pony for you?” He pretended to be hurt. “If you need to go to boob world to get to know me, then I don't think you want to know me.”

“No that's, ugh, it's because you're always at boob world! You're never here! Nobody is!” You finished screwing the bottom of the processor with the new crystal embedded. “And it's Alicorn now! Ever since season four..”

“There.. finished. You can go take Morty and Summer to boob world. I'm going to go see if I have any money and order lunch, Shoneys okay?” you pushed the processor to him and watched him marvel over it, completely forgetting what you just told him.

“H-holy shit this baby is going to make my ship faster! Overpowered ship time!! Wubba Lubba dub dub!!” You vacated the garage soon after you were done helping Rick. He was so tone deaf it would almost kill you. You wanted to make yourself a drink so you did. You stood in the kitchen while you checked out your wallet. Yep. 150 bucks. You've been saving up ever so slightly. You definitely needed a job.

Your mind was filled with distaste however. Boob world this and that. Why couldn't you go? You sighed. Just like you said you would, you went to find mom but she was gone. Her car wasn't outside either. That must've meant Jerry was upstairs.

Morty and Summer left to do something stupid like hang out at the mall or stalk her favorite cute guy. That's right! They went to a pool party!

So you were alone with your thoughts, your dad and Rick. Great.

You walked a few anxious laps around the house while you finished your drink. You decided you'd let Rick finish gushing over his car before finally circling back to the garage. You stood there awkwardly for a few moments before opening the door.

“Learn to knock.” Rick spat as he finished painting the last coat of his car. “Oh hey it's you, grab a seat, why'd you leave?”

“Uh.. I didn't. Morty and Summer left so it's just you and uh.. me?” You said cautiously.

“Well then, you can help with more stuff if you'd like.. there's a loo-*brp*oot I've been putting off.” Rick stepped back and admired his work.

You walked around the garage a little bit. There wasn't really anything that stuck out to you. Until you saw a box of memory stuff. Just as you bent down to grab it, your stomach growled. Shit. It was time for food. It's been hours since your mom and siblings left.

“Jerry's upstairs.. probably writing his book.” You said. “He hasn't shown his face since breakfast.. I think I'll go check on him? I'll ask if he wants anything to eat.” You were unsure of yourself. The more you were around him, the more you wanted to ask him about last night, you wanted to know if he loved you or if he just thought you were cute. God why were you such a weirdo.

“Well, when you come ba-*brp*ack being papa the vodka, please?” You nodded and you were on your way. You felt like a servant on occasion.

You journeyed the steps again for what felt like the 10th time that day. Your parent's room was at the end of the hallway.. which.. terrified you. To say the least. It was shrouded in darkness.

You knocked on the door before pushing it open slowly. Jerry was absorbed by his computer as he typed away. He was writing it seemed.

There was an ominous sense of doom in the room. You and Jerry did NOT get along. Whenever you two were alone he'd get very angry. You didn't understand, he wasn't this way with anyone else, not even RICK.

“Dad?” You shuffled in and closed the door behind you. “Uh.. mom is gone and so is Morty and Summer.. Did you want me to order us food? It's just you, me and Grandpa?” you waited what felt like an eternity for him to even answer you.

“Why?” His speech was slurred. He has definitely gotten into your mom's liquor cabinet. The bottle was two quarters and a half gone. It was strong liquor too, you were questioning how he was even awake.

“Because you.. need to eat?” You joked.

“No, I mean why are **you** caring? About me?” Jerry barely looked at you. You awkwardly shifted your weight from leg to leg. “You're probably not even my fucking daughter and here the fuck you are.” Jerry shook his head, sneering.

“Dad don't say that, everyone cares about you, this family loves you.” You walked further into the room. “I am like 80 percent sure you've had enough of this.” You reached for the bottle of alcohol he had on the table. You've done this many times with your mom, taking bottles from her while she cried and threw a drunken tantrum. Jerry was clearly different. He slapped your hand away.

“Oh psh yeah of course they fucking do. May-maybe they wouldn't all call me JERRY instead of fucking dad? Fucking off on stupid fucking adventures with my wife's dad like I'm not FUCKING HERE!” he spat when he screamed. You reached for his bottle again, and this time he grabbed hold of your wrist, squeezing it hard.

“Then you stroll in calling me *dad* like you CARE? You're a fucking bastard, a bastard fucking child. I don't want your sympathy.” He was spitting quite literally in your eyes. Your eyes watered. What he said hurt your feelings, nobody, not even mom when she was drunk, has said that to you.

“Dad you're drunk, I'm going to order you chicken Parmesan and you're going to let me go!” You snatch your hand back. “All you had to say was you weren't hungry!” You sniffled. Your eyes welled up with tears.

“Oh wahh wahh now you're gunna fucking cry like I'll feel bad for you, you never do when I cry!” Before you could call him out for his hurtful words you fell to the ground, your head hitting the floor.

Your cheek stung. Your vision was blurry, you tried to roll over but he wrestled you on your back. You tried to cry out but he pressed all the air from your lungs. You tried to voice your attempt to depart but you were met with zero mercy.

Jerry balled up his fist and punched you. You bit your tongue, groaning in pain, but he did it again. Cursing you. Blood leaked from your nose and that's when you freaked out. Your actions moved faster than your mind. Right when he grabbed your hair you screamed as loud as you could.

Rick heard your shrieking and coughed it up to you seeing your dad hanging himself or maybe drank himself into a puddle of water but your screaming was immediately interrupted and it became louder. He tossed his tools to the floor and rushed out of his garage. He peaked up the stairs. This was probably the worst time for Beth to get back with your siblings but.. his life is the worst so what the hell did he expect.

“Dad! Did you give summer an invisibli- who's screaming??” Beth followed Rick when he flew up the stairs. Summer and Morty followed.

Rick almost tripped over the door frame when he came in, Beth screamed the moment she walked in. You were full on wrestling your father.. and kind of losing..

“Oh my god dad!? what the fuck are you doing!? Get off of her!” Summer freaked out and rushed forward, trying to tug the now crying man off of you.

Your mom held Morty as she watched Rick and Summer peel the half conscious man off of you in time for him to throw up in a nearby trash can that was flooded with paper. You were fucking terrified. Your vision was blurred by both blood and tears as you crawled away from.. whoever was approaching you to help.

Rick stopped reaching out to give you space to harshly sob into the carpet. Now that you had enough air to do so. The room fell oddly silent. And very cold. All you could hear was your ragged breathing and Jerry doubling over and begging for forgiveness.

Your mom had dug into your father the moment the other two kids had disappeared. Beth had tried to pick him up but failed as he pushed her off.

“No what- wait I'm sorry-” Jerry tried crawling over to you, grabbing your shoulders. Basically shoving a drunken apology down your throat. “I didn't mean that I love you-” Jerry messily wiped your face but it made seeing almost immediately worse. Rick shoved him on his back where Beth wrapped her arm around his and hoisted him into the master bathroom, probably to spray him down with cold water.

Rick wasn't thinking fast enough, you were unconsolable and bleeding. He immediately grabbed you and held you closer to him, rolling into a more comfortable spot on the floor. You slowly had come to your senses, you definitely stopped crying as much. Rick dragged his oily hands through your hair, getting paint in it. It was very comforting though. It soothed your headache as well, which made you stop freaking out as much.

“Al-*brpp*Alright. Let's get you in the shower.” Before you could complain you fell onto the bathroom floor and Rick appeared right after you.

“Why..” you barely managed to get out. Finally Rick had used toilet paper to wipe your eyes so you could see.

“Because I fucking hate Jerry,” He motioned to the bath tub and you nodded. You turned the water all the way up to hot and dumped almost half a bottle of soap in. “Come here..” Rick said.

He sat on the edge of the tub while he gently ran his fingers through your hair. He parted your hair and rubbed a healing solution on the bleeding parts where Jerry pulled your scalp. You snuggled into his lap while he finished. He almost didn't want to interrupt you but he needed to. “Turn around,” he said gently. Your eyes were wide and full of tears. Instead of being full of fear they were full of pure hurt. He wiped your cuts with a wet rag and continued applying the healing solution.

“You.. when you said you didn't know me..” he muttered while rubbing your cut cheek. Definitely from Jerry's wedding ring he didn't deserve. “Neither does your mom. And I fucked up with her. I love you but you can't love me and expect me to show it. That's not my love language.”

You remained quiet, glancing up at him occasionally.

Rick finishes rubbing the cream on your face, the cuts healed immediately and you felt instant relief.

“This is why I can't risk taking you with me. With what happened with your dad. You don't have the balls to hit back.” Rick moved to take your shirt off and toss it in the dirty bin. “Plus, you're good to keep here at base. You're really helpful.. and I'll do my own laundry, you don't need to look after me.” Rick opened his flash and took a sip. He looked down at you as you got to work removing your pants and you tossed them in the laundry bin. You climb into the bath with your bra and underwear still on, mostly since Rick was still in the bathroom.

“Why would I want to hit my own dad?” Your voice cut into Rick. Not because you're sad but because you're so used to it by now. Your voice was monotone as you passed him your arm.

“Because.. if you went with me.. you probably would have to. Many times.” Rick finished with that arm and grabbed the other one. You sat in silence as he coated the other arm. He was so gentle as he applied it, running his hands over each cut twice.

“I love you, Rick.” Rick's body kind of shuttered hearing that. You sounded so much like.. Diane. So much like yourself. He closed his eyes and let out a shaky sigh.

“I.. love you too.” you sounded happier , that made him happier. Rick rinsed his hands off in the water before sliding on the floor by the tub. He took another sip from his flask and handed it to you. You cautiously took it and took a big sip. It tasted like burning smells.. and feels. You shook your head and took another guzzle which caused Rick to grab the flask from your hands.

“Woah, don't want you vomiting in the bath water.” Rick sat by the tub, he looked at how red his hand was from the burning hot water.

“Why are you still here? Scared I might drown myself and finish my dad's job” you joked, you wanted to be snarky but your nose hurt too much to sneer or exhale dramatically”

“Yes actually, you have the intelligence of a subhuman species and I don't plan on you discovering fire while trying to operate a comb.” Rick tossed you a towel and disappeared through a portal. You stared for an inhuman amount of time at it. It's bright, toxic green appearance. You.. wanted it.

Rick submerged and tossed you fresh clothes and a robe. Great. Rick had apparently gone to his own room while you struggled to get your wet bra off and put on your new dry clothes.

You left the bathroom afterwards and the hallway was like a desert. Nobody yelled or spoke or made even an ounce of noise. You walked to Rick's room and walked inside. He was laying in bed in his pajamas while you sputtered and tried to make useless conversation to try and stay in his room for the night.

Rick patted the bed next to him without a word. He made room for you while you bundled under the covers and snuggled into his chest. His warm hands rubbed your back. You'd think he'd be cold but he wasn't. He was like a blanket straight out of the dryer. You wanted to come to terms with what your dad is going through, a mountain of constant disrespect and disregard for his happiness. But.. then why would he get so mad you worried about him? Why would he lash out on you?

Rick was pleasantly surprised you went to sleep so fast in his arms. Or asleep at all. He hadn't noticed until now but he was gently rocking you. It reminded him of when you were younger and Jerry would slap you for bothering him or Beth while they were working. The way you'd fop onto his lap and sob and flail around until he'd pick you up and rock you to sleep.

So why was he so fucking mad now? Jerry left a scar on your cheek. Your perfect cheek. Your soft perfect puffy cheek. The one he'd kiss and put his up against to see if you're sick or not. You were so tiny and so vulnerable. If he had hit you and you had fallen onto their bed frame you wouldn't have woken up. And a clone of you wouldn't have been enough to soothe his pain if a fucking Jerry killed you.

Rick held you closer to him, even if you were like 8 million degrees and covered in two blankets. He loved feeling his skin against yours. You were quite literally his ray of Sunshine. He couldn't accept a Jerry of all people hurting you though. He'd just have to deal with that in the morning before boobworld.

Chapter 2: 1.5 Forgive thy Father

Summary:

Forgiveness.

Chapter Text

You had woken up early in the morning, Rick wasn't anywhere to be seen. Your head pounded the harder you thought. You tried to remember any of what happened yesterday and all you could muster up was your dad losing his fucking mind on you. You looked at the dried blood caked under your nails and you sighed.

Jerry barely glanced at the door when it opened. He had been outside for the past few hours ever since Beth had tossed him out. He was expecting to see Rick or maybe one of the other kids. But it was you. It was still dark outside. The light from inside the house illuminated his back, and when he looked up at you, his bloodshot tired eyes.

You held a blanket and the bottle of Rick's healing solution. You draped the blanket over his shoulders and knelt down in front of him. You opened the jar of the healing balm and began applying even coats over each laceration he had on his face and neck. You were both shrouded in a comfortable silence. Even if he was mean, he was your father. You loved your father even if he was an awful drunk.

“I'm so sorry..” Jerry hung his head, covering his eyes. It was clear he was going to cry. He was trying so hard not to let you see it. “When you were born, I promised I'd take care of you no matter what and I'm.. I'm not honoring it right.”

“It isn't your fault,” You dabbed a bit more healing gel on your fingers and rubbed it on his busted lip. You moved gently, like Rick had done to you. “You’re trying to keep up with mom.. she isn't carrying as much baggage so she doesn't get angry when she..” Jerry nods. He fought the urge to lick his lips.

“That doesn't make it any better, don't blame your mom for my insecurities.” Jerry wrapped the blanket around him tighter. It was cold outside even though it was summer. “I shouldn't take out my feelings on you or anyone.”

“I do it too sometimes.. don't tell anyone but when Rick forgot to get me a gift for Christmas I dipped Morty's lightsaber in oil so he'd drop it.” You snorted. You did do that, it was fucking evil of you. The president or something came to your house pretty pissed off at Morty.

“I guess you have my anger issues” Jerry’s laugh sounded refreshing. It was great hearing him in a mood where he didn't want to kill himself.

“Yep,” You glanced at his empty mug, he must've had a cup to sober up so Beth could yell at him. “Hey, let's have some coffee..” You helped him up, he was heavier than he looked.

You turned and looked up at the night sky. You haven't done that in a hot minute. You felt at ease staring out at the stars and the moon. Watching the clouds slowly being swept away by the wind.

"You've never been.. have you?" Jerry's voice came from behind you. You only nodded in response. It's the only reason you go to school, to become an astronaut. You looked down at your feet, kicking the rocks besides your bunny slippers. "It's.. very beautiful."

"I bet it is dad, I bet it is.." you quickly turned around and faced him. "Now let's get you inside before you catch a cold old man.." you laughed at the expression on your dads face.

“Thanks kid, I love you” Jerry reached his hand out and you took it.

“I love you too, dad.” You allowed him inside the house and shut it behind you.

Rick stepped on his empty can of beer and kicked it off the balcony. He knew you'd go out there, he was just surprised when you looked up you didn't see him watching you. He went back inside. It looked like he didn't need to get a new Jerry.

He couldn't pretend he didn't see the look on your face when you were watching the stars. But he could ignore it. He will ignore it for as long as he lives.

Chapter Text

“-and I think it's important to realize that forgiveness is a trait most humans learn by four-” the family therapist rambled on. You stared out the window for an amount of time you didn't want to admit. “And most humans tend to lose it by the time they're twelv-” Your mom and dad ushered everyone to go see a family therapist and a substance abuse specialist. “-ot at all, it's very ‘adult’, it's very developed for her.”

“Isn't that right?” You snap back to attention and look over at the therapist who was staring at you now. Your family seemed to have laid their eyes on you.

“Uhh yes?” You looked around. “S- sorry what did you say?” It was the first time your family as a WHOLE went to family therapy. Even your grandpa came.

“I was asking if you agreed with what I said, that your forgiveness is advanced for your age?” your therapist pushed a long strand of blonde hair out of her face and crossed her arms. She looked so much like grandma.

“No.” You said flatly.

“Why?” Your therapist tilted her head and began to write on her notepad.

“What you're saying suggests that you equate the development of forgiveness with age. You don't gain a better sense of forgiveness as you get older, just like you don't automatically gain respect as you age. If anything your sense of forgiveness gets worse as you age.” The therapist lady nodded slowly. You didn't even catch her name when she introduced herself to your parents.

“Do you think adults, like your parents for example, don't automatically deserve respect?” She asked.

“I think your parents get automatic respect until.. they just don't.” You shrugged your shoulders.

“And what about Rick, do you think adults like him deserve automatic respect?” You and Rick locked eyes for a split second

“No,” You said without missing a beat

“O-oh wow. Look at this guys, the man that used the Me-*brp*eseeks box to get laid gets automatic respect, b-but the guy that made it *brpp* doesn't.” Rick scoffed. It was 10 in the morning and he already reeked of alcohol.

“If you'd let me finish, I would've said, no they don't. But my grandpa does because he keeps the family *alive*” You looked over at your therapist. “He doesn't listen very often to others.. but he's nice. Sometimes.”

The family therapy meetings usually lasted an hour, this one ran through upwards of two. It was long and almost peaceful. Afterwards your entire family hugged most of it out and crammed into your mom's car. It was a couple days after the incident at this point. This was mainly because Rick had accidently broken his portal gun and apparently sent Morty to a wasteland billions of light years away.

You sat in the back next to Rick, who was crossing his arms. You normally played music during car rides and stared out the windows, but something about Rick caught your eye.

“Are you.. pouting?” You ask, a grin on your face. He totally was. He stopped it the second you said that.

Truth be told he was pretty depressed you had so much bad shit to say about him, partially he was glad you laid it out on the table but fuck he still couldn't stand you. He watched you the whole time you were there out of the corner of this eye.

You were such a bright radiant glow of light, but he hated looking at you. Your voice was angelic yet so grating and awful. He wanted to kiss you while he strangled you.

“Yeah I get it. I wanna pout too.” You said, looking down at your shoes. This seemed to intrigue him.

“Ye-yeah, why? Co-*brpp*ouldn't get all of it out? A-at the therapy appointment?” Rick was trying to demean you but he couldn't do that more than he already has in the past. He's already spent most of his days ignoring you or stomping on your pity party like he's the sad police.

“I mean I did.” You leaned your head against the hot window. “But you didn't.”

Rick scowled at you. Yes he carried a lot of baggage but it was invisible and nothing you'd ever understand. He was a fucking interdimensional god, people are killed every second for his intelligence, for a taste of his power. He's killed thousands and he'd do it again. He's trained Morty to be numb to death, he's trained Summer to be a cold hearted killer.

“Do-*brpp*-o you think I need therapy? I'm fu-cking Julius Caesar, therapy is for people who wanna cry about shit.” Rick spat. Even though you didn't want to go to therapy, your parents made you. Even if you and Jerry spent hours talking over coffee or talking to summer or crying it out with your mom or tossing all the alcohol in the safe upstairs.

Your eyes fell to your lap. *So then I'll be your Cornelia* you thought with a faint grin. The car suddenly jolted to a stop and you climbed out. Therapy was boring but you got a notebook and a few cool snacks that you decided you'd save for later. The family mood was uplifting to say the least. You all managed to gather in the living room to watch TV over lunch.

You were bored out of your mind though, you were watching some shitty medical show. You were nodding in and out of consciousness before you decided enough was enough and you were going to your room.

You found your way upstairs without tripping and you settled into a seat at your desk.

Your mind ran wild with all the possibilities. You had impressed Rick for the first time with the crystals.. you needed to do *more*. You gushed with ideas. Better self defense measures? Cooler jets on his ship? Maybe new medicines to help his snobby rude behavior?

Your demeanor changed as you sighed. You've already done something for him.. do something for yourself! Rick had all these cool gadgets like a ship and a meeseeks box and got to go on cool adventures and what did you have? A room. A laptop. A few chemistry sets you've decked out.

You wanted to know what was outside of your house. Outside of your city.. outside of the planet. You've never been to space yet you yearned for it every single day. So build a spaceship?

But you didn't have enough power nor money to build one from scratch.. Grandpa Rick got parts for his ship from the wreckage on an alien planet. Which.. he used his portal gun to find.

That's it. You would make a portal gun!

You've never seen Rick's portal gun up close. He never lets you touch it or even see it for longer periods of time. All you know is it opened up green portals to wherever he envisioned and boom.. he was there. But you didn't know what you wanted to envision. Space? But where… maybe you'd play it safe and teleport in and out of locked rooms but.. you wanted to see the stars.

You began to sketch the layout of your own portal gun with a pen. You didn't know what materials you needed. You needed to touch Rick's portal gun.. you needed to inspect it further.

You remember writing a paper on quantum physics and quantum tunneling. You decided you need to unbury that and you could use those two concepts to create the portalling effect. But wouldn't teleportation be.. easier?

You've probably spent hours working on the design and possible materials for it, all until someone knocked at your door. You closed your sketchbook. You laid your head down on your desk for a while. You closed your eyes. God you were tired.

“Come in! It's unlocked.” You shout towards the door. Slowly the handle turned and the door flung open. Rick came stumbling in, half sober. In a slight nervous panic you took your sketchbook and put it in your drawer. You grinned up at him with anxiety panting your face.

“Wha-aat are you doin? It's dark as fuck in here y-you’re not a super villain.” Rick flickered on the big light in your room.

“What do you want, paps?” you stood up from your chair and met him in the doorway.

“I.. I need your help, mor- your brother went to bed and I need help. I'll- I'll give you something in return.. you might like.” Rick slurred his words. He began his descent down the stairs and he heard your small steps behind him. He knew you'd follow him, he likes It when you're obedient to him. In his garage, he had laid down on top of a bench and stabbed a needle into his thigh. You gasped but he hushed you.

“I-i need you to go through my mem-memories, g-get rid of the thoughts of..” Rick shivered. “The dragon soul bonding.” Rick immediately fell asleep after saying that and you were left with confusion until you saw the helmet beside him. You put his helmet on but before you put yours on you stared at his unconscious body.

This was a sight you've only ever seen a few times. Rick Sanchez unconscious and fully vulnerable to your hand. You stepped over him and began looking through his things for a blueprint of his portal gun. You found nothing but your attention moved to his coat. You hesitated as you peeled it back and took out his portal gun.

You stared at it for a second, the beautiful green glow swirled in front of you. You instinctively screwed the top off and poured some of the solution in a stray jar and you put it in your pocket. While you screwed the lid back on, your body itched for you to pull the trigger but you relented. You stared at Rick. You were already going in there, he must have memories of his portal gun.. or something interesting.

Your mind wandered back to a couple of nights ago. You grinned as you crawled onto his lap and put the helmet on. It was more like a VR headset.. inside Rick's mind, you saw dragons and Summer in a very revealing outfit and.. is that a mammoth? Apparently they were slut dragons? Nonetheless you were told to get rid of this memory.. but how? You shifted on his lap which seemed to startle him within the memory. You instinctively began to wipe the memory, it slowly melted away. You weren't sure if you were doing it right, but a pleasant sigh from Rick seemed to reassure you.
You were hoping he'd at least have something dirty in there other than slut dragons but.. Rick was old and strange but definitely not boring.

You wanted to reach deeper into his memory.. suddenly a new one appeared, it was blurry and you could only *vaguely* make out a screen. It was a picture? When you finally managed to fully see it you gasped. Jesus Christ, was that a picture of you changing on Halloween?

You gasped as you felt the helmet being torn off your head. You felt your brain fog, you were supposed to do some sort of process like.. turn the helmet off before taking it off.

You made an attempt to slide off of his lap but Rick's hands gripped you tightly. holding you firmly in place. You squeaked, which made him look up at you defensively.

“Uh… no more slut.. dragons?” You asked, trying desperately to try and convince him you didn't see that last part, you struggling to put on your Halloween costume and your ass getting stuck.

“T-Thank god *brpp* fucking traumatizing” Rick looked up at you. “It's been a while since you sat there like this.. what happened?” he was sussing you out very hard. He was trying to see if you ACTUALLY saw what he did. But it was useless since he knew. He was trying to lie to himself.

“I grew up and stopped watching my little pony...” You refused to look him in his eyes. You looked at his shirt instead. Thinking. “I uh.. never wanna see a dragon again?” You muttered.

“Oh ye*brpp*eah, and you-you'll never see a dragon again. Promise.” Rick sucked in a breath through his teeth. He bit his bottom lip. why was he so fucking nervous, why'd he care what you thought anyways. You were just his dumbass granddaughter.

Rick leaned in and pulled you closer. You flinched but that didn't save your heart from the utter surprise of his lips locking with yours, the innocence within it vanished the moment his tongue grazed your lips and you let him in. His hand rode up your back and he held you tight.

You were the first to pull back surprisingly. You stared down at him with a glint in your eyes that he couldn't quite understand. Was it shock? Maybe fear? Arousal? He grabbed your jaw and closed your mouth, his hands were warm yet dry, they weren't soft either. They were jaggad and his nails were sharp.

“Was it fun sno-*brpp*ooping around in my min-memories?” Rick spat. He was partially mad, mad that you'd even attempt to do that. That you'd even think about it. “Yeah. It was fu-un looking at yours too.” before you could even process the words he just said your back met the floor.

“I- you tricked me!? You didn't even forget about the slut dragons!” Your face fell.

“Yep. Got all-ll the dirty shit I need. Good mast-Material. I think it's only fair since you've been googling me more than pornhub you f-*brpp*reak.” Rick watched you squirm in horror. You didn't know what to do or where to go or WHERE to look. Your face burned with embarrassment.

Rick was going to humiliate you, embarrass you and relish in it. He loved you but God it was so hard to show it in a way that wouldn't turn Morty away from working with him or making Summer call him soft.

“Hey, you're not any better! You have a picture of my ass! And it's in your memory!” You dusted your butt off once you stood up. “And.. and you just.. kissed me?”

“Yeah. You wanted it, so I did it. That's why it was a reward for letting me in your mind,” Rick turned to his work station. “Now I know where you keep hiding the key to the alcohol cabinet.” Rick reached into your bra within that moment and grabbed it.

“You- did ALL of that.. for the key to the liquor cabinet?” He just pried his dirty fingers into your brain and picked at your most sensitive parts just to get drunk! “So I guess you know.. god this is fucking embarrassing.” your hands met your face. You rocked back and forth when you were nervous. You usually swayed too far on the fourth rock and had to catch yourself before hitting the ground.

“Yep.” Rick said “..and y-you’re not going to say or d-*brpp*doo shit about it outside of this garage.” Rick mentally cursed himself. No matter how much he wanted to fuck you on the couch when everyone was gone, he couldn't. There needed to be rules, boundaries. What he was doing with you was risky, and you being who you are makes it worse.

“So you.. you'll be less mean to me in here?” You looked around. “In your garage? A-and you don't mind?” You watched him think.

“Yep. C-cuz if I'm nice in front of Morty he-he’ll lose his shit thinking I re*brpp*placed his ass.” Rick opened his flask and took a sip. Morty was easily jealous. Which made him wonder about you. He'd never dream of replacing Morty with you. Morty is replaceable, Morty is recreateable, Morty can be rebuilt. You can't. Something about your genes when he tried to clone you. They refused to cooperate.

Rick was expecting you to run away like a terrified little girl but he felt your arms wrap around his torso. That wasn't helping the odd strain he had on his dick. Rick grinned and turned around to face you, which was hard since your grip was so tight. You gave him the puppy dog eyes that killed him every single time.

“Ohh I see what yo*brpp*ou're doing. Only one more.” Rick brought his lips down to yours to kiss you but you couldn't stop laughing for him to kiss you properly. His lips trailed down to your neck, he planned on playfully nuzzling you but you gave him a wonderful response. You bit your lip after you had accidentally moaned when he kissed your neck. Rick was pleasantly caught off guard by your reaction which he showed by laughing at you while trying to kiss you again.

“Fuck I love it when you laugh, y-you sound like a fucking angel” Rick grinned down at you. You maybe stood there for four or five seconds just staring into his eyes when he turned you around.

“Rick? There you are! I thought you were in the backyard..” It was your mom. She looked down at you and up at Rick before putting her hand out. “Can I have a hand with this cut.. I was trying to open a box and it cut my hand.” She nervously asked Rick, who nodded quickly. You collected yourself while Rick busied himself with your mom.

“Good night guys! I uh.. I guess I'm going to get to bed!” Before Rick could respond you were gone. You hijacked the fridge for a soda and flew up the stairs with a dangerous speed. You almost fell again. Whatever just happened made you feel queasy. It was too many emotions, shame, arousal, and fear? Your mom coming in was purely coincidental but it was so close. What if Rick didn't know she was coming?

You had to kick the awful habit but how could you? You slouched into your chair until you felt the bottle in your pocket. The fluid! You grinned. The fun wasn't over yet.. you had to study it.

You immediately slid your chair in front of your desk and pulled out the jar of the stolen portal fluid and your sketch pad. It was science time.

•~Time skip~•

It had been a couple of days since that incident. Rick was such a fucking jerk. Whenever you were alone he'd whisper in your ear about how much he wanted to bend you over or sly kisses on the neck or back. Your body was weak from the sexual frustration and the late night science lessons.

So much so, you woke up at 8:52. You groaned and rolled over. What's up with you waking up so late? You rolled out of bed rubbing your tired eyes as you got ready.

You traveled down the stairs before immediately falling down the 11th stair and crashing into the floor.

“Fuck!” You shouted. This was pretty odd. The stairs were old and needed to be sanded but really? Four times, three days in a row. God you needed a fucking break. You pulled yourself off of the floor and ventured into the kitchen where it was just grandpa and your siblings. They seemed to be dressed up.

“Hey! You're up! We weren't expecting you to be out of bed this early..” Summer said. She shared a glance with Morty and they rushed over to you.

“Look.. uh. About what happened with dad—” Morty started.

“Yeah Morty, I talked to him about it.. I think we're good until next time..” You grinned at your younger brother. He seemed understanding. Too understanding. I guess that's what happened when you hung out with Rick all day.

“Well.. Mom and dad went to couples therapy. I think it's for the best.” Morty said the obvious. Where else would they be? In bed together?

“Hey,” Summer grabbed your shoulder. “Do you think you'll like.. be okay? Alone? We're going to boob world.” Summer pointed back at Rick who was finishing his breakfast.

“Why don't you come with us! I-i mean, you've never been right?” Morty pitched his grand plan and Summer nodded. Rick seemed to poke his head up. This excited you a LOT. You've never been to space, let alone any place called boob world. You were overrun with joy as you nodded quickly.

“Yeah, I mean you're not doing anything otherwise?” Summer clasped her hands. Rick got from his seat and approached the three of you.

“H-how about you aa-*brp*-ask the driver? Aka me?” Rick motioned for Summer and Morty to go to the garage and they followed without complaint. They gave you an unsure look.

“You need to stay here and clear things up with your mom and dad.” Rick counseled you, pointing at the door. “They'll be back at 11:30.” You frowned. Rick didn't seem to care all too much as he gathered his things but he stopped in his tracks and looked at you. “A-and if you're looking for my dishes.. I already did them.” you nodded as he swung the garage door open and shut.

So you were home alone again. No boob world for you today. You groaned and climbed the stairs once more to your room.

“What'd you say to her, Rick?” Morty struggled to buckle his seat belt and looked over at Rick.

“She said she didn't want to come,” Rick swallowed this lie perfectly. He buckled his own seatbelt and started his ship. “Besides, she wouldn't appreciate boob world, she's old school.”

Morty seemed to accept this answer perfectly, but Summer didn't. Summer literally didn't believe anything Rick's been saying lately. Especially if it concerned you. Summer knew he couldn't stand you but she didn't know why. Was it because you were smart? Summer was born at night but not last night. She saw the excitement when you were invited, the way you nodded so quickly she was worried she'd have to catch you because you'd give yourself whiplash.

“So are we just like.. going to ignore what happened with dad? I think we should be there since I had to wrestle him off of her.” Summer finally put her phone down. “I mean yeah we went to family therapy but Dr.Kulik sucks.”

“We-*brpp*-ee’ll be back in time, don't worry. Just going to check out boob world's new attractions and maybe get you a cup of their new boob-a!” Rick turned the Radio on and started blasting snake jazz. Summer kinda vibed with it. But not hard enough to not feel bad for you.

Back at home you had bundled up in your bed after taking a shower. You felt kinda depressed, being alone was taking a big toll on your mental health. But.. It's okay. Your parents would be back and you could talk with them and have lunch!

Speaking of being alone. You finally had the room you needed to work on your portal gun. The last few nights you spent pulling your hair trying to figure out where you'd get ingredients but you learned something new.

You discovered the dust you pounded the crystals into could be used as fuel. the chemical compound didn't really have anything dangerous. In fact,It would give you a very cool effect.

You sat on the floor just outside of the garage while you used the control panel inside of the air duct on the floor right beside the garage to disable it. Once inside you opened his safe and found the jar of powder. The lid felt like it was sealed shut though. You wrestled with the lid before the lid popped off and a cloud of smoke and powder hit the air. You were taken by surprise as you dropped the jar. It burned your nose and your throat and the moment it hit your brain your vision turned bluish and you almost fell “to the floor. Your skin crawled until you finally let out the inhale you didn't know you were holding. A puff of smoke filled the air and you blinked a few times.

You spent about a few moments panicking. You tried to scoop the powder into the jar while hacking and coughing and trying to breathe. Your blue vision wasn't helping either. You set the jar on the counter and you roll over holding your chest.

The sound you dreaded the most, Rick's footsteps. you almost had a heart attack when you heard the garage door open. You watched Rick rush in and you braced yourself but he didn't see you. He.. phased Right through you. He typed in the code on the odd vault floor in his garage.. and he vanished into thin air. You raised a shooken hand and pressed the same keys he did and pushed the latch open. You looked around before sliding in. You weren't expecting ladders and you hit your face on the ground.

Your eyes weren't prepared for what you saw. It was like a sci-fi dream. Computers and tubes and books and flasks, vials of everything you'd ever need. You didn't know when Rick would be back so you needed to be quick.

You knew you weren't supposed to be there.. it was probably the worst of the worst ideas for you to be there. But you knew you needed stuff for a portal gun and that's what you'll grab while you're here.

You'd need metal and some type of rubber. A glass thick enough to withstand the power of the liquid. You found basically everything you needed for a trial run and climbed the ladder as quickly as you came. It was important you rushed because the newfound drug wouldn't stick for long since you inhaled only a small bit and the side effects could've been adverse. The worst that would happen is you pass out in his basement and he finds you.

You scoped out the scene and checked your clock before you found your way to your room. It turns out Rick has touched a lot of stuff in your home.

You laid your things out on the table and decided working on the solution would be the hardest part.

You spent hours analyzing Rick's fluid and it was made from crystals you couldn't find in his basement anywhere. You considered giving up until you got more of the raw crystals he had. He clearly had enough. You grabbed four and cut them up before dividing them equally. They'd all make a normal amount of fluid but if you messed up and created faulty fluid you wouldn't know how to dispose of it other than going into Rick's lab and spilling it and pretending it was something he made.

You tossed the crystals into a tube and heated it. If you got it hot enough to liquidize then that's what you're going for. You needed to mix it with other chemicals to create a compound that wouldn't explode and kill you, so it needed to be careful. You slowly dripped liquid ezrec down the side of the vial and watched it slowly react. While it cooked you gently filled the core with virbacin and it sparkled to life.

After combining everything in a tube you stared down at the bright orange fluid and sprayed a bit on your wall. Two portals appeared in front of you. Holy fuck, you thought while you grabbed an orange off your desk and slowly passed it through the portal. Suddenly, sparks flew out the other end and a rotten orange was spat at you. You sighed. You knew I wouldn't be that easy but.. you thought it would take you less than three and a half days. You took the fluid and put it in a jar in the back of your drawer, never to be touched again.

You groaned and got back to work figuring what you did wrong. Sleep pestered you but you shook it away and got back to work. As you stretched however, you looked over in your bedside mirror. That was weird.

You had hand marks, very recent ones, on your hips. And smudges on your face. When was the last time Rick touched your face?

“Holy shit!” Rick shouted, he was on his hands and knees tossing sand behind him. They were just on the ship fifteen minutes ago but Rick had seen a glint and had to interrogate. Finally his hand hit something and he uncovered something blue. He knew immediately what it was. The Blue Gotron Ferret. He kicked sand off of it and began admiring its face.

“That's cool and all Rick.. but it thought we were going to b-boob world!” Morty said.

“Morty, do you have any idea how fu-*brpp*-ucking lucky I am to find this!? I-i’ve been looking for this Morty.. Morty, I've been looking for this ever since you were a toddler, Morty!” Rick Hopped inside of it, motioning for them to come inside.

“Oh fucks yeah, I remember these things! Fuck boobworld!” Summer hopped inside the ferret and buckled in. “Morty, Drive the ship to Grandpa's garage! We gotta try to take it out for a test run now that he has the last one!”

Morty sighed and climbed inside the drive side seat of Rick's ship and began to pilot it back. Rick's been blowing shit up and firing projectiles into space while Morty drove far behind them, barely managing to dodge the flying rocks. Rick was a huge child. And Morty was thinking that as he had to jeer to the left to avoid debris from an asteroid.

Soon they had gotten back, evident by Morty almost crash landing. Summer dragged him inside besides Rick who gave him a suit. He really didn't want to roleplay giant Mecha ferrets when the busty bumper cars were waiting for him.

“Beth!” Rick shouted, Morty turned to see her as she walked through the door. She wanted to wave hello but stopped immediately after seeing them holding some sort of costumes.

“Mom, dad!” Summer rushed forward holding suits up to them. “Come on! We found the blue Gotron Ferret! Let's go!”

“Summer.. we're a little too old to play dress up. I think you guys got this one.” Beth began to laugh, holding her husband's hand. It seems they made up.

“Oh my god. You always complain that we don't do enough bonding and then turn down the bonding experience! Either stop complaining or put on the suits!” Summer shouted. Beth and Jerry looked at eachother and grabbed the suits immediately. Suddenly quick footsteps were heard coming down the stairs.

You had sweat on your face and you smelled like burning tires but you were alive and you seemed to surprise your family who managed to forget you were upstairs.

“Oh you're all back! I- was just about to order pizza?” I watched them all look amongst each other.

“Actually we don't have time, we- were about to go play with the Gotron Ferrets.” Morty said. Summer nodded in agreement.

“Oh, uh mom and dad?” You turned to your parents.

“They're coming with us..” Summer answered for them.

“Ooh.. can I come?” Your grin was wiped off your face as you saw summer shared a look with Rick.

“There's only.. five Gotron Ferrets.. and mom and dad already called the legs.” Summer awkwardly admitted. If she could feel how you did she'd know your heart was in a different place. You were staring at what felt like your family yet you were being alienated.

“Ohh..” you tried not to sound upset but instead you sounded like a dick. You cleared your throat and nodded your head. “Yeah uh, I'll just get pizza or whatever and watch T.V, robotic ferrets sound kinda dangerous, bye guys!” You sounded as happy as the day you met Rick when you said that. But fuck did it hurt. You closed your door and stared at your desk that was adorned with burn marks and ash. You shrugged and approached your desk. You didn't know why you were crying, you were becoming a genius. You were going to order pizza and keep working until your fingers became brittle.

Your family cheerfully said their goodbyes as Your mom and dad ran off to get changed. They came back dressed in their outfits and gathered in the dining room. Summer adjusted her outfit and where her placement was. Shooing Jerry back to an exact spot in the dining room.

“What now?” Beth said, looking around. Rick shot her a look and suddenly, tubes shot out of the walls and ceilings and sucked them up. They were immediately descended through tubes and fell into giant Mecha ferrets.

“Holy shit! This is so cool!” Beth shouted. She could hear her headset jam with all the noise of her family going from confusion to some pain to joy. As she adjusted her seat, she grabbed the controls and wobbled around a little until she finally managed to get the hang of controlling the ferret. She catched up with her family in space as they navigate across the cosmos, joy sprouted in her face. “I-i feel like I'm forgetting something,” Beth laughed. “L-like my purse! My purse or my phone or something! Hahaa!”

“If you forgot it, it wasn't that important, sweetheart,” Rick called out to her. “Now let's go blow some shit up!!” Rick shouted. The family called with unbridled joy.

He felt sick with this power. Every Rick in every universe would want a taste of this. They'd want this for themselves. He knew exactly what to do.

As they landed on alien planets they transformed into a giant robot and King Kong’d a few Godzillas before returning home. They flew over the planet at a distance and watched as the clouds turned. It was the perfect way to end the day of bashing alien lizard guts everywhere.

You had been staring at the clock for hours. 11:30 came and passed and nobody came or left. You were left sitting on the top of the stairs looking at your phone. You contemplated calling Morty and asking when he'd be back. You wanted to feel less lonely so badly.

You had ordered yourself pizza and busied yourself by drowning your sorrows in greasy pizza and bubbly soda. You laid your head against the railing of the stairs. You took one more look at the clock. It was now around 10:48 pm. That's when you heard the garage opening.

Your mom was crying, she was laughing so hard. You sat quietly at the top of the stairs as you listened. You wanted to rush down and ask how it went, what they did and if they even missed you.

“God I love you kids so much.. I love this family..” Beth said, wiping her eyes.

“We love you too sweetie” Rick said, they encased each other in a family hug. You've never.. been a part of one. You sat there frozen in disbelief. They were.. happy. Without you.

“We need to do that again! I didn't think I'd enjoy blowing up asteroids with a giant ferret but.. what the hell! Jerry highfived Rick. It was a first for them. It was a first for you and you wouldn't even understand why they DID it. The matching suits. The matching emotions. God you wanted to melt into a puddle and disappear.

They had brought back dinner and they began to set the table. You felt sick to your stomach. You felt so. Alone. In a house full of your own family.

You didn't know what to do other than to hide. You needed to hide. You quietly closed your bedroom door. You had fumbled trying to lock it.

Your hands shook feverishly. Like you were scared of something. Your body ached as you sank down to the floor. You just.. laid there in defeat.

You stared at the roof. The first movement you made was your chest jerking as you began to cry, sending waves of utter sadness throughout you that shook you to your core. You physically couldn't keep it back, you sobbed into your arms as you sat there void of warmth.

They were so happy and complete without you. They were the perfect family without you. They never even texted or called to see how you were. They forgot entirely about you.

You sat alone in tears until you heard footsteps rush up the stairs and two people pounding on your door.

You laid there still. You held your breath. If you tried hard enough they'd think you were asleep and they'd go away.

“Dinners downstairs! Are you hungry?” Morty yelled out to you, he sounded very… cheerful?

“Yeah, Grandpa Rick got us pizza!” Summer shouted.

They stood there knocking and yelling before they tried the knob which was very conveniently locked. They stood in silence for what felt like an eternity before retreating down the stairs.

You swore under your breath and finally let the air out of your lungs you tried so hard to keep in. You laid down and stared at the carpet. Picking out strands while you laid there. You felt like you'd just lay there and rot for the rest of your years until your mom and dad divorced or you got a job or something.

Finally you felt the urge to get up and pry the door open after you heard someone else knock. You started expecting to see Morty but it was Rick.

“Oh good, come down, get dinner. I thought you were in a ‘mood’” He bent down and placed a kiss on your lips, gently. Your lips weren't dry, maybe from the excessive crying and snot. You didn't feel like responding or really reciprocating. It wasn't the time for it especially after he just excluded you.

You climbed down the stairs and almost lost your footing. You hopped down the last few steps and settled into your chair at the table.

You looked down at your plate with blurry vision. You hated pizza. You hated this family and you hated this fucking table. You hated everything right now. You didn't touch the now cold pizza. You didn't drink the now watered down soda. Not that you'd drink or eat anyways. The lock of hair stuck to a ball exploded and burned and now all you could smell was burning hair and rubber.

Your family spent their entire meal up to that point talking mindlessly about how amazing they were as ferret Gotron heros or whatever. You felt out of place. Like you were in the wrong puzzle box. As it was already completed.

“Why aren't you eating sweetie, are you feeling okay?” Your mom looked over at you. You didn't even look up at her. If you did you'd start crying. You just shook your head as you stared at the plate. She set her pizza down. “You look like you've seen a ghost..”

“I already ate.” You grit your teeth. “I ordered.. pizza for myself. Around one.” You took a deep, shaky breath.

“It's well past one, almost nine hours.. you need to eat, okay?” You nodded mindlessly at your mom. You could eat whenever you wanted to.

“Dude, Rick killed a planet’s God, shot it right between its eyes!” Morty shook you, which surprised you enough to snatch your arm away.

“Yeah.” Was all you could say. This felt like a form of medieval torture. You were purposefully putting yourself through this. Pushing yourself through your “mood”.

You glanced up at Rick, who flashed an odd nod. You wanted to cuss him out so bad.

You wanted to do a lot of things, like defend yourself. You wanted to say something that would cement your place in your family but you just couldn't. You felt like a ghost, like a background character in your own life. You felt like you carried a massive burden that your family didn't want to be around. It was eating you up inside.

Your mind wandered back to your work. Work made you calm. You were creating portal fluid from nothing but trash and stuff you could steal from Rick. You mindlessly took a sip from your drink and you recalled the poor spider that crawled into the portal. Spiders theoretically can get cancer but the likelihood was slim. So imagining what the portal would do to a human after it just gave a spider insta cancer made you shiver.

“Cancer..” you muttered. Rick looked up at you. You said that wayy too loud. “I.. mean.. Grandpa Rick.. could your portal gun give someone.. cancer?”

“No? I-*brpp*-if you went through one of my portals and found out you had can-cancer you had it before you went in.” Rick looked at you with suspicion. That was a weird topic for dinner conversation.

“oh. Yeah yeah totally.” You nodded. So then it had to be one of the chemicals reacting and creating radioactivity that seemed to give organic life cancer. You sit back and look down at your hands. What if you trained it not to destroy human flesh? No.. not safe enough. You prefer zero cancer over maybe cancer.

“That's a we-*brpp*eird question. Why did you ask?” Rick pulled his flask from his coat and popped it open. The question must've really intrigued the rest of your family since they all had eyes on you now.

“Be..cause my brother goes through those things all the time! A-and I'm researching cancer! I don't want my brother to get.. fuckin… I don't know.. some sort of alien cancer.” You saved your ass but with a landing cushion made of knives.

“You people a-*brpp*and your cancer. Li- as if it isn't insanely curable. There's worse diseases out there. Like alien AIDs.” Rick rolled his eyes. Alien AIDs seemed to make Morty look fearful. Looks like he was definitely planning on going to an alien strip club.

You didn't feel like responding. You got the answer you were looking for already. You excused yourself from the dining table and Beth tried to mention you hadn't eaten but you just wanted to go lay down. You cleaned up your desk and put away as much as you could. You didn't wanna smell burning anymore.

You took a quick shower and managed to rinse out the ash and unpleasant sweat. You felt more refreshed after showering, like a new person. Which is why after you showered you changed into clean pajamas and laid in bed you didn't feel as sad.

You were just going to delude yourself instead of being happy. Easier said than done though. In the middle of your silence, staring at the ceiling, your door creeped open.

“Hey.” Of course it was none other than Rick. He closed the door behind him and sat on the edge of your bed. He looked.. funny. “You were totally in a mood. You lo-oked like you wanted to stab me.” Rick felt.. odd when you ignored his kiss. Normally you'd be jumping to kiss him back but you just walked around him. He felt like his sort of hold over you was teetering.

You looked down at him when his hand ran up your thigh. It was a surprising new feeling. But it wasn't bad. You ached for it but.. it felt wrong. You just wanted to feel anything other than alone.

“Just a little upset I had pizza for lunch.. and you ordered it for dinner?” you made up an excuse and he seemed to eat it the fuck up.”why are you in my room? What is it?”

“I'm.. going to throw a little.. “Party” in a week or o-or two. I'll need you to entertain a g-guest of mine.” Rick pulled out his phone and handed it to you. It was a girl who looked slightly older than Summer. She had brown freckles all over her face. They looked like constellations. You looked up at Rick and he slid his phone back into his pocket where he replaced it with his flask.

“Why? Wouldn't she have more in common with summer for example? Why me?” You watched him take a sip from his flask and you grabbed it from him. The liquid almost burned a hole through your throat when you smelled it. Let alone when you sipped it. You took a gulp and tried to avoid it hitting your tongue.

“Bec-*brpp*causse her err.. dad would want someone more like you instead of summer.” Rick took the flask back. He liked it when you tried so hard not to make a face. You took it like you did medicine. You made that little scrunchy face.

You agreed to babysit the supposed 20 something year old girl. She looked like she wouldn't be interested in you at all. She had a low cut tube top on in her picture and she sported a cowboy hat. It wasn't the first time you've seen someone dress that way which is how you know she would not have fun with you. But.. you couldn't disagree with Rick. He'd airdrop her into your room and glue the door shut.

Rick seemed happy with your answer, as long as it was immediately or eventual compliance he'd be pleased. He ran a bony hand through your hair and looked down at you. You looked like you haven't slept in days, which was odd. Even if he didn't sleep he didn't hear a sound coming from your room. He was starting to believe you just laid there awake without moving. Which sounded like a special type of hell for someone like you.

You couldn't sit or lay still for long amounts of time even if it was dire for you to. It was like you were driven by a never dying battery. Rick leaned in and kissed your forehead. He was met with you pushing his shoulder which made him lean down and do it again, more rough this time. You weren't a stranger to his love language, instead you were quite literally the victim of it. Whenever you've been upset or stressed out lately, he'd push you into a secluded spot and kiss until all you could focus on was him.

“Why do you always kiss me like you want to fuck me but then just.. walk away?” Your voice was laced with frustration. Rick's grin was sick.

“Not my fault yo-you get turned on by a few little ki-*brpp*sses. We're already in too deep. And I li-love the look on your face when I leave you squir*brpp*ming in the hallway.” Rick sounded like a smart ass, which didn't help you.

“That's not fair! What if I did that to you?” You grabbed his dick through his pants before he could even react and began stroking it. Paying attention to the tip.

“I thou-*brpp*ght we were taking this *slow*. And we are.” Rick grabbed your hands yet he wasn't expecting you to fight back. He squeezed your wrists together and pinned you to the bed. You were going to use your legs to kick him but he weaseled his way between your legs.

The position was making your head swim. You were delirious with his love and very clearly intoxicated by his smell, which made you nervous that he would pull away after the last kiss..and he did. But you were met with a new feeling. His fingers pressed against your pajama bottoms which were already a little wet from your lack of panties and overflow of arousal. His hands slid into your pajama bottoms suddenly, which caused you to jump up slightly. You didn't even notice his other hand was free.

“God you are wet.. maybe I a-am an assh- pain in the ass.” Rick's fingers rubbed up your slit and slipped inside of you. His fingers worked inside of you. He watched your face as he pumped his fingers inside of you until you gasped.

“Theree it is.” Rick hummed, he immediately began pumping his fingers there. You swore you could see stars. His eyes were dark, it was clear he was enjoying this as much as you were. His lips locked with yours, you whimpered into his mouth desperately. You wanted more.. you needed more of him.

Rick leaned down to keep you from moaning too loud and it worked. It worked a little too well until he stopped and looked down at you with an evil grin.

“i-is someone brpp turn-turned on?” Rick grins. A very empty feeling hits you as his fingers leave you. You try to protest but he stuffs his fingers in your mouth. “O-oh of course you are. So I have to train you til you aren't.” Rick said cruelly. He was clearly enjoying the way you squirmed under him by the look in his eyes but he couldn't NOT enjoy it.. it was fun.

Chapter Text

You've been awake ever since yesterday morning. You didn't go to sleep after Rick left your room. How could you? He basically got you worked up and blue balled you. Your eyes were bloodshot and the medicated eye drops were your only saving grace. Working on portal fluid was going to be how you died apparently. You've ruined an entire batch of apples using them as tests.

You've dragged yourself inside the bathroom and had taken a healthy shower. You had to remove the remnants of unknown sticky stuff out of your hair before god knows what.

Although strange, you've been giving yourself at home cancer tests, feeling around for lumps and taking pictures to make sure you didn't develop cancer.

Today was the day you were supposed to meet your supposed new pal. Her name was Katarina apparently. Just like Rick had told you, you had to become friends before the party for things to go smoothly. It was clear what he wanted.

He wanted you to become friends with the daughter of the guy he was going to extort for money or some sort of alien tech. He was probably going to use your sudden friendship as leverage for him to get whatever he wants.

You weren't looking forward to it. You added lotion to your very thirsty skin and finished doing your hair. You definitely needed to take a self care day after this all was over.

As you wandered mindlessly into the kitchen and made yourself toast you heard the door open. You knew what was going to happen but you didn't want it to happen. You stood motionless in the kitchen. Maybe if you didn't move they wouldn't see you. The toaster going off gave you away though.

Rick rounded the corner and beside him was a girl with her blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was wearing a cropped black fur coat and a black pleated mini skirt. Something Summer would definitely have in her closet. You'd know this because she GAVE you all of her clothes she grew out of. Like. Willingly. Which was scary since summer would give you her kidney but she would rather die than give you a charger.

“Alr-*brpp*ight girls. This is my granddaughter,” The girl next to Rick waved hello. “And you already know Katarina?” You nodded.

“Hi!” You grabbed your now half burnt toast and tossed it in the bin. Katarina approached you and shook your hand.

“It's so nice to meet you! Eh, Rick over there told me and my father about you over dinner!” Katarina sounded star struck. She had a thick accent you couldn't distinguish but.. it was an accent. A mixture of Russian and French? You didn't dwell on it too long once you realized you haven't replied yet. You didn't want to seem rude by not saying anything.

“Oh? That's nice, I'm glad he does..” Before you could even say anything to Rick you noticed he had managed to slip away from you. Katarina shrugged and you decided to just lead her up to your room. You did spend hours cleaning it for this moment.

“Your room smells so good..” She walked around and looked at your closet. She seemed particularly interested in the shoes.

“Thank you, I really like candles..” you grinned. She seemed nice. “Hey uh, so what do you like?”

“Tch.. that's a hard question.., I like fashion, music.. oo! I love art! Rick is.. not very fond of it.” She walked over to your desk that displayed several incomplete sheets of artwork and your sketchbook.

“I uh.. I've made a few articles of clothing? If you'd wanna try them on?” You pulled a box from under your bed and pushed it towards Katarina. She opened the box with a grin on her face. She pulled out a few things with sparkles in her eyes.

“You've made these!? I've never seen anything like it.. and my designer is really good.. hmm” she pulled a few more things out of the box. You began to direct her to the bathroom but she immediately began to change. You were both girls.. right? It still felt weird. She was like twenty. She'd have more in common with Summer.

She had managed to dig out your old silk dress you had begged your mom for the materials. It had lace and a few fake pearls. She couldn't quite fit it, it was tight so you decided to cut the straps off and add a slit on the thighs.

“I think I am in love with this..” she began to twirl around. You agreed with her, she was the perfect mannequin for your precious designs. Next it was a sun dress she had found. She was a little taller than you so the usual floor length dress is now above her ankles. You cut the back and added a few strings to make it adjustable.

The other thing that needed adjustment was a really long black dress you made. It was a bodycon dress but it was too loose on you and your mom would never let you wear it out. You added slits to this one with gold colored chains you found in your sewing box. Katarina was way nicer than you thought she'd be. She asked for things unlike your brother and was nice about adjustments unlike summer when you made her prom dress. While you were applying lace to the neckline, Katarina noticed the burn mark on your hand.

“What's that? Do you cook too!?” Katrina asked, surprised. You looked at her and the burn mark and shook your head, moving the pins from your mouth so you could speak.

“Nope.. uh, I do my.. own type of science..” You finished sewing in the lace and Katarina sighed.

“You do? Rick does science too! Do you work together?” Katarina tugged the dress and stood in the mirror you had uncovered just before she got there.

“Uhh, no. My brother works with him. I repaired his ship once.. but I do my own work.. don't tell him!” You shot her a look, she put her hands up.

“I won't! I think it's charming that you keep secrets from him. I bet he keeps stuff from you too.” Katarina pinned her hair back with her hair clips. She had determined eyes and they were a piercing green color.

“Pfft I can always ask my brother and he'll snitch on him.” You uncover your old choker and you clasped it on her neck.

“You have siblings! You're so lucky.. I'm usually alone even if my half brother is home..” What she said felt so familiar to you.

“No way, you're lucky. You get to go do stuff with your dad! My siblings are always with Rick and my parents aren't interested in me.” You admitted. You leaned back in your chair as Katarina found a seat on your bed.

“I guess we both get each other then..” She threw a weak grin.

“I mean.. unless you wanna trade!?” You joked, she shook her head ‘no way’ immediately. You giggled.

“Morty, I've met him, no manners..” She began, and when she did she didn't stop. She went on and on about how Rick and her dad met and how Morty always came along and was like a poodle. You enjoyed listening to her speak. It felt normal. Like you were a normal teenage girl who isn't locking herself in her room with possible carcinogens and checking for lumps in her tits.

As the two of you were just about to run out of things to ramble about, Rick opened the door to your room pretty fast which startled you.

“Katarina, your help please? I need you in the gar-*brpp*age.” Rick left as soon as he came and Katrina followed along. You guessed he was going to ask her if she can get her dad to give him something? You decided you'd probably have at least half an hour so you wanted to dedicate that time to doing something other than work.

You walked into the hallway and noticed summer's door was open. That was weird. You walked into the doorway and peeked in.

Summer was painting her nails while Morty sat on the floor and spoke to her. They both seemed to notice you standing there.

“Oh you're not busy? Grandpa said not to bother you-” Summer started, wiping stray nail polish off her pinky finger.

“Uhh I was but they're in the garage right now so I guess that means I'm free until she's back.” it smelled intoxicatingly like nail polish, like too strong. You could almost taste it.

“Jeez you're always busy.. what- what are you doing now? Just waiting?” Morty looked up at you. “You've been spending a lot of time with Rick.. you do know you can say.. no.. to him, right?”

“Yeah dude, Rick doesn't own you, you came outta Dad's balls not his. You don't have to kiss his ass, just tell him to get someone else to help.” Summer backed Morty up. You've never thought they felt that way about helping Rick.

“I get that but why are you telling me this now? It's not like I do much for Rick. I barely see him..” You leaned into the door frame.

“Because I heard Grandpa Rick waking you up a few nights ago when you were clearly upset. Don't suck it up for him.” Summer pointed her nail file at you and began cleaning up her nails. “And do not let a boomer insult you. He should crave your approval, not the opposite way around.”

You nodded. You felt her words reverberate around in your head. You were genuinely upset. No way you were just now realizing that. But you couldn't tell him what you felt right now. You liked Katarina and even if he is using you, you felt like you had a friend for a little while.

“Y-yeah, you should go make fun of him. Don't internalize his insults either, let them slide off like butter.” Morty said.

They were right. You didn't need his respect, he needed yours. You shouldn't need his approval for anything. And you don't. You were going to do things your way.

“Also.. you need to go eat something. We saved you some pizza in the fridge.” Summer tagged in and you were off. Pizza for lunch did not sound bad. Even if you had some yesterday.

You journeyed to the kitchen and began foraging in the fridge for the pizza and you put it in the microwave. They also saved you a can of cola, fuck yeah.

You cracked it open and poured it in a cup of ice. You enjoyed your soda while you waited for your pizza to heat up. It felt beyond peaceful in the kitchen. Especially when your mom wasn't in there. She would go on and on about how hard it is to cook. You hopped on the counter and waited. As you pulled the plate out of the microwave and torched your fingers with the plate you heard some cans and bottles crash and fall. You were caught off guard. You guessed it came from the garage.

You rolled your eyes. He probably blew something up and was going to yell at Katarina like he did Morty even though she probably didn't do anything at all. You smirked. You were going to peek in the garage and make fun of him. You had a knack for doing that and he hated it.

You grabbed the door knob and stifled your laughter. It was hard for you not to laugh whenever you were up to mischief. You pulled the door open and peeked inside.

Your smile immediately fell off your face as you peeked inside. You had closed your mouth that was open and ready to spew any insult you could muster. Your hand trembled as you saw the dress you just made for Katarina over Rick's shoulder.

All you could hear was his shallow breathing and Katarina *gasping* and struggling to moan with his fingers in her mouth. He had tossed her on the table and her legs wrapped around him.

Your heart skipped a beat. Or three.

You felt like your actions weren't yours as you closed the door and took a few shaky steps away.

Your mind raced, you attempted to find a thought and hold onto it, but they don't call it a train of thought for no reason. Your train was scrambled and going 1,000 miles per hour and none of the carts made sense. You grasped your head and whimpered.

Summer had come down the stairs at that moment with her plate in her hand and stopped in her tracks.

She saw you standing there with the most horror stricken face she has ever seen you make.

“What? What!? Are you okay!?” Summer rushed towards you and abandoned her plate on the kitchen table but you couldn't even speak. You couldn't make noise.

“I..” you tried to make noise. The plate summer had placed on the table fell and hit the ground. She swore and looked back at the ground. She knelt down to begin collecting the shards.

“I NEED AIR!” You screamed. You didn't mean to scream it but that's what came out. Your voice shook as you sniffled. You ran directly over the broken glass plate and pushed the front door open. You had immediately ran outside of it and you didn't stop.

Summer stood with a look she could only decipher as shock when Morty ran down the stairs questioning what just happened. The glass was now saturated with a nice thin layer of your blood when you stepped in it.

You didn't know where you were going or what you were even doing or how you felt.

Did you even have the right to feel that way? About Rick?

But fuck all you knew was it cut into your skin like a scorching hot knife. It felt like someone had just shot you down. You hadn't stopped moving since you began running. It wasn't like you to suddenly want fresh air, but it also wasn't normal for you to shout at your sister. You groaned and slouched against a tree. You had managed to run straight into the fucking woods. How wonderful of you.

Hours felt like seconds as they passed by.

Katarina filled her glass with water for possibly the fourth time and climbed the stairs again. She noticed the odd stain by the dining table and the stray pieces of glass but she had shoes on so she wasn't too worried.

She opened your door expecting to see you laying down or at your desk but you were just gone. She frowned and closed the door and looked around herself. The next door down the hall was opened and she approached it. She saw Morty on the floor and Summer pacing around.

“O-oh.. hi Katarina.” Morty waved awkwardly.
“Where's your sister..? I was downstairs for a bit and she's gone.” Katarina looked around nervously. Being around Morty alone felt as uncomfortable as soap getting in your eyes. Summer stopped pacing around and slowly turned to her.

“I don't know. I've been calling her for an hour now and she hasn't been picking up! Where's Rick!?” Summer pushed past her and began heading to the garage. Katarina followed alongside Morty and they entered the garage.

Rick was busy putting things away when he heard them all pile into the garage.

“Grandpa! You didn't hear what happened!?” Summer crossed her arms.

“She's gone! I-i didn't hear anything either and when I went upstairs-” Katarina started.

“Yeah she wasn't upstairs because she screamed at me she needed air and ran outside.” Summer bit back.

Rick dropped his things and groaned.

“You've got to be kid*brpp*ding me! Call her!” Rick grabbed Summer’s phone off the counter and for what felt like the first time in months he called you.

“What's going o-on?” The garage door slowly opened and revealed.. Rick. Well, not Rick. A Rick bot. Holding a basket of unrefined metal scraps. The entire group glared at him. “Uuuh.. finally matters.. I see.” The Rick bot dropped the materials off and turned to leave.

Your phone buzzed.

You didn't feel like grabbing it. You've been laying in the woods for what felt like hours at this point. You've laid there staring at the sky ever since you found the clearing. The stars looked so wonderful hugging the moon from that spot.

You clicked the answer button expecting to hear summer's voice but.. nothing was ever as it was supposed to be in the Smith's family.

“W-where the fuck are you?” Rick's voice grated your ears. You were still unsure on how to feel about what you saw. You stayed silent.

“Do-do I need to come out there and find you? Be*brpp*cause if I do I will not be fucking nice about it.” Summer snatched the phone from Rick after he said that and her voice came through the receiver.

“It's Summer. I'm sorry. Rick grabbed my phone. You shifted in the flowers you had laid in. “Look I don't know what's going on with you but I'm worried about you. You need to come home.. whatever had scared you so much, we can talk about it.” Summer said. Her voice sounded full of remorse. You felt like you were punishing the people you loved the most.

“Summer,” your voice was hoarse, you screamed and punched trees all day. You were pretty much dehydrated. “I'm not scared of anything..” you managed to spit out.

“Why were you standing there like you had just watched a murder then? I *know* you and that wasn't nothing.” Summer cleared her throat. “You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to but I want you to know I wouldn't judge you no matter what you say to me.”

You sat in silence for what felt like a decade staring at your phone. All you could hear was summer's quick breaths.

You stared at your phone and hit the hangup button. If you were going to go home you were going to do it on your own terms.

Summer looked at Morty in disbelief when the phone hung up.

“Y-you gotta let this thing run out summer.. she isn't dead and she isn't in danger..you heard her voice..” Morty shrugged.

“ugh. Kat-*brpp*arina I'll take you home. Hop in the car.” He grabbed his keys but she didn't move.

“Hey I really like her, why can't I help?” Katarina stood up to Rick, which he respected even if he didn't like it. He rolled his eyes and set his keys back down. This was going according to his plan however. If Morty hadn't been staring at her tits their entire time meeting, he wouldn't have to outsource his help from down the hallway to your room.

Your body ached as you stood up. Your knees creaked as you shook them free of the numbness. You heard a loud crackle behind you and you whipped around fast.

It was a bright green portal. You readied yourself to run as you waited for Rick to emerge but… it was a woman?

Her platinum blonde hair reached her middle back, half of it was pulled up into a bun where she hid a knife in its sheath.

“O-oh wow-” she bent over and coughed. She sounded exasperated, as if she was ready to pass out. “Fuck..”

You watched her with worry in your eyes as her weak body crumbled under the weight of seemingly gravity. Her eyes peeled up and she looked at you.

*Hack* *cough* “it's.. you..” she spoke. Her voice was hoarse. “It's really.. you..” she seemed to use all her strength to smile as she pushed herself up and crawled lazily and fell at your feet.

“It's been.. decades since anyone's ever had the.. the same…” She laughed and covered her mouth.

“You don't have to say anything..” she muttered as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a tiny vial of golden liquid. She caught your confused glance and grinned. “I call it the elixir of life.. all the nutrients I need..” she stood up and stretched her limbs which popped uncannily.

“I finally figured out portal travel.. I stole it off of Rick when he.. left.. for something. it doesn't matter. You've been opening portals all over the place and I..” she pulled up her sleeve to reveal a deep, rotten orange color eating away at her flesh. “It's not safe. Portal travel is not safe! You- Rick never takes you anywhere because.. it's dangerous. You.. could end up like me and i-”

Just as she reaches out to you, you take a few steps back.

“You clearly don't know Rick. He doesn't take me because of Morty-” You wipe dirt off your face that stuck to your sweat.

“He doesn't take you because.. Morty.. Morty is a very very common boy. He'll do- wait.. what's that!?” She pulls you closer to her as something akin to a shooting star falls from the sky and crash lands into the dirt.

“Wait- shit.. I didn't think this would happen sooner here.. don't go there.” The woman holds you tight. You look up at her confused.

“Who are you!?” You shout at her. Slowly, she released her grasp on you little by little until you pulled away. “Why- why do you care so much?”

“Because.. you'll end up like me!” She points at herself. She swiftly pulled off her shoe and revealed the cuts from the glass still engraved into her foot. You slowly lift up yours and see the same ones.

“A-are you me!? From the future!?” You gasped, clutching your shirt.

“N-no. But I am someone like you. I trusted Rick. Just like you.” She whined, holding her head.

“You're saying that Rick's technology.. got you hurt?” You muttered. She nodded somberly. “But.. I'm not using Rick's technology.. I'm building my own portal gun. I'm paving my own path!”

“No! You don't understand! You can't do that!” She cried out, grabbing your shoulders. “You have to believe me! Even if it's in a way you don't understand , you'll always end up… trusting Rick.”

“I won't end up getting hurt! Whatever he did to you.. I won't let it happen to me! He- wouldn't hurt me.. not physically!” You screamed. You turned quickly and began to journey into the woods towards the crash site. The woman followed you close behind in the shadows, shooting through thick brush and branches. You could hear her shallow worried breaths and sounds, she sounded like Morty when he was frantic.

The tension and suspensions in the air was palpable. The blonde woman hovered over your shoulder like a ghost of regret as you kicked burnt grass and dirt reduced to ash to the side and got down on your knees.

You had spent half an hour digging into this odd patch of dirt and rocks. The spot pulsated a black aura. You pushed the rocks aside and had gotten down with your hands to unearth whatever was hidden there.

It was dry outside and your tears, stray spit from your cursing, sweat and blood moisturized the dirt and allowed you to dig it up with your hands. You felt like it had been forever since you started digging but you finally hit what felt like a sharp shard of glass.

You groaned as you tugged it out of the ground. Once you did you fell on your back. You and the woman examined the crystal but you pricked your finger in the process blood seeped into the crevasses of the crystal and the dangerous midnight black light pulsating from it seemed to glow harder. Black light felt so contradictory but it.. looked like it was emitting a black hole. It felt so right.

“If you do this there's no going back. What you'll see, what you'll DO will forever be cemented as your actions cannot be taken back.” The woman stood behind you as you held the crystal, void of light in your hands.

“Who are you..?” You lowered your head as you raised the crystal to the light of the moon.

“They call me divine where I'm from. It's what my name means.” The lady turned to leave but you felt an odd pull at your heart strings.

“Wait- divine? Can you.. stay? With me..?” You watched as the thought churned in her mind. She nodded slowly, despite being confused, she trailed alongside you.

You stuffed the crystal into your pocket. You were on autopilot for the most part. You made it out of the forest albeit slowly because you didn't want to admit you and your new friend were a little lost.

You washed your hands in a water fountain and made your way to the store with Divine to find what you needed. She seemed to marvel at everything she saw, everything you did. You pretended you weren't barefoot as you bought a pair of slippers and materials and a new set of beakers… also a new stuffed animal. You ventured towards home and pushed the door open. You wondered why nobody locked it. You turned back but Divine seemed to be.. gone, as if she was never there. A ghost.. or perhaps a divine being.

You kicked your new slippers off and turned to head up the stairs.

“You’re home!” Summer cried, standing out of her chair.

“Yeah..” you turned and looked at her.

“You're covered in mud!” She pushed her chair back.

“Yeah..” you noticed Rick was sitting at the dining table. You couldn't look at him. You couldn't look at the girl sitting beside him. Your family looked at you as you stared at summer.

“Where'd you go!?” She asked, approaching you.

“yeah..” you turned and ascended the stairs. She stopped and watched you.

Summer stared at the vacant staircase. It was like you didn't even hear her. She stood there with sadness in her eyes. She finally found the guts to turn back at her family dinner.

You locked your door and dropped your things.

Your body ached as you met the floor. You hadn't meant to see that.

Any of that.

And you hadn't planned to fight the demons that aroused during this battle or the battle itself.

Your eyes closed and you cuddled the floor for comfort as you tried to forget what you saw but it was no use. You didn't need to fight when you could run. When you could run from all the problems you've created for yourself.

All because you felt love.

You felt a warm hand rub your head as Divine sat beside you. She had said she was going to stick by your side. She didn't know how long she'd be there for, but she knew she would be there.

Chapter Text

Summer has good lock picking skills.

She only used it for good, which was the excuse she used to justify it when she didn't use it for good and felt guilty.

She sat the cup of tea down, a gentle padded thud aroused as it met the coaster after she took a sip and began combing through your hair.

“I know you probably don't want to talk about it.. but I just- that isn't like you.” Summer grabbed your hair to avoid tugging at your roots.

At summer's request you took a sip of tea. It burnt you the first time you took a sip but in the end you were okay. Summer had poured you some cough syrup and took your temperature four or five times before she believed you weren't already violently ill. Just had caught a little sniffle.

Summer lifted the bottle of conditioner and applied more on a particularly thick knot in your hair. She took a sip of her tea and turned to grab her phone to check the time. It was late.

She motioned to Morty who had already finished his tea. He handed her the kettle of hot water and she poured more into your cup.

You were mad initially that they broke into your room but after you ate and they proved they weren't there to spy on you, you calmed down.

“I… Morty, can you grab me another teabag?” You asked him. His mindless scroll through brain rot tiktoks was paused as he complied and ran downstairs immediately. You sighed. “Summer?”

“Yup?” She said, as she finally defeated the knot in your hair.

“What would you do if theoretically..you see a guy you really like.. and he likes you.. a lot. And he's really intimate but you.. walk in on him sleeping with someone else?” You looked up at Summer who stopped to think.

“Honest? It sounded like you two were official. So he cheated? Theoretically of course.. that's kind of hard. I'd make him want to be with me.” Summer sat down the comb and grabbed a brush. “I'd make him choose me. I'd be better than whoever he slept with and then I'd become better than him. If you find someone else and get over him and his heart is set on you.. he'll die alone jerking it to you and your future husband..”

Summer brushed your hair, Morty finally returned with the tea bag and you replaced them. You liked Summer's response. Be dominant. Be better than him. That's how she survived so many of her ex-boyfriends dumping her or cheating. She was a genius.

“Morty? What would you do if your girlfriend left you for someone else?” You looked at the boy on the floor who was diddling with his phone.

“U-uh jeez.. hard question. I don't know.. I'd make them jealous.” Morty looked back down at his phone after. Your siblings didn't know it but they were fueling your future plan.

XTRA:

You had been sitting at the dinner table picking at your food.

“Mom?” You looked up at her.

“Yes sweetie?” She smiled at you sweetly.

“What would you do if you fell in love with a guy and he chose.. the other girl?” You looked up at her. She sat back in her chair and swirled her cup of cranberry soda.

“Actually I had to do that in highschool, haha! I remember the look on his face. I kissed the girl he cheated on me with. She was in love with me after that, and didn't want my ex” Your entire family had seemed to stop eating when your mom spilled her master plan on getting back at her highschool ex.

“Mom.. you kissed a girl?” You set your fork down. “Wait, can I kiss girls!?”

“Sweetie wait, you can't just kiss homewreckers even if hate sex is kinda fun..” Beth giggled.

“Yeah, maybe rewarding the homewrecker isn't the way,” your dad set down his cup of orange soda. “why don't you do what I did? I told her parents.”

“Wait, sweetheart, why are you asking that? Is.. is that happening to you?” Your mom asked you

“It used to be. But I knew what to do.. and I fixed it.” You grinned down at your plate.

“Did you kill her?” Morty chimed in.

“Fucking no?” You both broke into laughter. You sounded too serious at first. You'd go to jail.

“What about you Rick?” You said turning to the man at the end of the table. “What would you do if your girlfriend chose the other guy?”

This question rolled in Rick's head while he sat in his garage tinkering with the Rick bot again. Katarina watched over his shoulder until he finished.

There y-you go you *brpp* weirdo…” Rick stood up and pushed his seat back and let the Rick bot reunite with Katarina. “I don't know why you need a robot o-of *brpp* your rick. But I fi-fixed his junk. Made it more correct. Didn't need t-the inspiration pics.”

“Oh, thank you! He is perfect! I might've forgotten to oil his joints after I washed them.. oh well.. thank you for fixing that too.” Katarina planted a firm kiss on the robot's forehead.

“And don't fuck that thing in my garage again.” Rick rolled around in his chair and put away his tools.

“Hey! Who told you I did that!?” Katarina shouted

Chapter Text

You resurfaced from the bath as the soap suds fell off your hair down your shoulders.

It couldn't have been earlier than 11:30. You submerged yourself in the cold water and resurfaced once more before getting out.

You've been on autopilot all morning. You brushed your teeth and finally left the bathroom after hours of being in there. You grabbed your stuff and headed for your door.

In your room, you had everything you needed to relax, but you've been cooped up for days and you wanted to talk to some of your family. Watching summer from your window as she set tables in the backyard made you feel less alone, but watching her expression told you she was alone. You owed her an apology so you flew down the steps and called out for her.

You stopped in your tracks when you saw them in their Gotron Ferret outfits.

“Hi sweetie!” Your mom said so cheerfully. “We're about to go.. uh go out? We're going to take the Gotron Ferrets out again!”

“Oh. Leaving again..?” You turned to head back up the stairs.

“Teenage girls are always in moods, Be- *brpp*-eth..” Rick rolled his eyes. You stopped in your tracks.

“Most teenage girls aren't home alone all day everyday.” You crossed your arms.

“Yeah bec*brpp*ause they have friends?” Rick zipped his suit up and adjusted his sleeves.

“I can't have friends over if my grandpa is wanted by The U.S, Mexico, and Korean governments.” You spat back at him.

“Woah what's up with the hostility?” Jerry stepped up and Rick told him to shut up.

“Oh h-here she goes, blaming me for her lack of social skills.” He laughed cruelly.

“I don't have any social skills because the only people required to socialize with me are never fucking here!” You shouted at him. “How am I supposed to speak to anyone when my own family wipes their feet on what I have to say when you, the grand war criminal, is around?”

“Maybe by getting over your*brpp*self? Not everything needs to include you.” Rick hissed.

“That's because nothing includes me!” You cried. You closed your eyes and shook your head. You didn't want to start crying in the middle of an argument. “I'm not taking criticism for the way I act from someone who takes the Geneva convention as a to do list!”

Rick concealed a burp within his elbow. “Do you want to know why I don't take you on adventures with me, with US?” Rick growled. “Because you're a fucking crybaby! You don't get to hang out with mommy for one day and you go crying and running off, and God forbid we talk about your fighting! You'd get into a fight with your reflection and you'd lose! Maybe hi-hit the gym buttercup, a-and learn how to take a joke and then we'd talk!”

You stared at him with a sickly expression on your face. You dropped the look immediately and turned to go to the stairs. You took a deep breath through your nose and let it go.

“I wish you never came back.” You saw your words cut through him like butter. You loved seeing him when he realized he's fucked up. If he had to go low you'd go lower. His face dropped.

You walked up the stairs and shut your bedroom door and you locked it. You were so calm for a total of four seconds before you turned around frantically. He could still unlock it. You tossed all your shit off your chair and pushed it in front of the door and jammed the knob. You locked your window and you closed all the curtains.

You felt so pathetic.. why would he do this to you? You heard your family leave almost immediately afterwards. You sat on the floor, hyperventilating. You tossed everything off of your desk. You hated him. He was a cancer over your family, over your life. Over your mind. You loved him but he didn't love you back. You sniffled as you sank to the floor. It wasn't your fault.

He was self absorbed and evil. He tried to change everything and he always succeeded because he thought he was right and everyone was wrong. He thought he was a fucking god and everyone regarded him as such.

A familiar aura filled the room, through your blurry vision you made out the vague figure of divine, towing refuge from your temper on your desk.

“You heard that.. you heard him…” Divine began, her hands falling to her sides. “Same thing he's told me before. This is why i-” Divine began to talk. Talking was what she did. She tried to get you to understand where she was coming from but you didn't. Your train of thoughts blurred out her speech just as your vision did her appearance.

He called himself Julius Caesar, you foolishly thought of yourself as his Cornelia and in a sick way you were wrong. He wanted to be regarded as the greatest ruler of all time and he wanted to claim you were his best friend. If he wants it that way then you'll abide. If he was to be Julius Caesar then you'll be his Brutus.

His love rushed through your veins and you wouldn't want the star of the family to be anyone else, as they'd get you all killed. But then why did you sit there wishing you were him instead? Why did you wish you were the one being regarded as the family hero? Why did you want to take his place in all of the cool adventures?

Because you couldn't be with him. You wanted to be him. You wanted to be the one who sits at the head of the table and gets to drink alcohol and gets to be rude and moody and still be regarded as the hero.

Amidst Your frustration tossed the crystal you had found at the wall. It hurdled towards it but it flew right back at you. You held your hands up but it didn't hit you, it floated in front of you. Your eyes lit up.

You didn't want to kill Rick.

You wanted to prove to him you were better than him.

Like summer had said.

You gently picked up the crystal and set it on the desk. Divine hopped off the desk and settled next to you. You immediately pulled out your portal gun and took the fluid holder out. You snapped a piece of the crystal off and pushed it inside. It absorbed the liquid and remained unchanged. You looked at your finger and you used a sharp pencil to draw blood and it dropped into the tube. Immediately it swirled to life. It was a hazardous purple liquid with the black crystal floating inside. You immediately put it on the portal gun and you looked at it. You wondered if it took Rick that long to figure it out.

You pointed the gun at the wall in front of you and pulled the trigger. A portal appeared in front of you, it swirled in all of its excellence with a bright purple color with black dots swirling around inside.

“It’s.. purple? Mine is green..” You both looked deep into the portal, your eyes didn't deceive you but she wished they did. You were both idle, thinking of all the possibilities, hers was more wishful thinking that this one trip to wherever the portal took you would keep you from using it again.

You looked over to find something to test it with but you turned back to the portal. You could feel the air whipping your face. Every good scientist has experimented on themselves. The bad ones? Died trying. You took your stuffed bunny in your arms. He was pretty huge. You remember trying to throw him away since the giant zipper in the back would scratch you when you slept. Divine grabbed your hand and squeezed it. You don't know why but you squeezed her back.

This was it. This was your time to prove if you were a great scientist.. or if you died trying.
You took a deep breath and stepped into the portal.

“FUCK YEAH!” Rick yelled as he aimed the missiles and hit the red button. He blew up another monster and got to work assisting Beth who was being overwhelmed.

Beth sat aside alongside Jerry and Summer who were both pretty much over the entire thing from the get go. They had been the ‘heroes’ in hundreds of planets at this point defeating misunderstood people or monsters in giant Mecha ferrets all day.

“Where's Morty?” Beth asked Summer who shrugged.

“Said he needed to use the bathroom..” Summer replied. “Said that about an hour ago..?”

“It's obvious he went home.” Jerry said. “Probably going to talk to his sister.”

“I don't think she's ok. Especially what happened last time. This is probably really weighing on her mentally.” Summer muttered. Nodding towards Rick.

“I-i just don't understand why Rick doesn't want her to come along. Even if she couldn't use a ferret she could've flown his ship.” Beth rested her head in her hands.

“We've been leaving her home with Rick and you and Morty, why does she feel so alone?” Jerry ripped the head off a giant creature running towards them.

“Uhh.. Rick takes me and Morty on adventures and we.. have been leaving her home.. by herself?” Summer said nervously. She thought you liked being alone. Without having to listen to them all day.

“Are you serious?” Beth's jaw dropped. “This whole time she's basically just been sitting in her room by herself? God, we're raising the next ted bundy!” Beth cried into her hands.

“A-are YOU serious? You know I can hear you over the intercom right?” Rick walked over to them after defeating the last of the monsters. “Y-*brpp*yoou are worried about a teenager being home alone?”

“Yes dad. I am. Because that's my daughter and she's clearly going through things and we are not helping! This isn't helping!” Beth shouted. “We're fighting monsters and fixing problems for other people while we sit on our own problems at home and let them hurt us.” Rick groaned at Beth’s speech and rubbed his forehead.

“Ok. fine. Le-let’s go home and let your teenager dictate what you do. Let's see *brpp* where this gets you. Come on, find Morty and let's go.” Rick said.

*Nobody is having as much fun because Rick is a dick and your argument that morning. He turns home fuming after getting hurt and he looks for you in bed but you're gone. He was gonna chew you out for ruining family time.*

You felt the air massaging your scalp as you stepped through the portal. You felt so free, like you were flying.. until you weren't

You screamed as you fell and hit the floor. Where the fuck were you? You just fell out of the sky and landed on your chest. You tear yourself up and dust your body off. It looked like you were stuck in an alleyway.

You weren't expecting it, but after a moment you heard Divine’s high pitched scream as you fell through the closing portal. The fall knocked all the wind out of her, it was evident in the squeak she made when she attempted to exhale.

You ran to her aid, helping her up as you both examined the alley way. To be honest you were freezing. You wished you were wearing anything but your pajamas. Your nightgown touched the floor but cursed breathable fabric let the wind lick your skin. Your arms were exposed and your shoulders were barely covered by the thin spaghetti straps.

You were holding nothing but your old stuffed bunny and the portal gun you just created. You expected to be spaghetti-fied and tossed to the ground with a thick wet slop but.. you were unharmed by anything other than the fall and cold weather. Divine should've been warm, she had a thick coat on afterall.

You tucked the portal gun inside your bunny and decided to leave the alley. Divine mentioned that someone could mistake it for a weapon so you took her advice. You took slow cautious steps while you did so. You turned the corner to see what looked to be more alleyways.

You felt the stale rainwater on your feet and gravel collect on them while you walked. Bottle caps littered the floor.

The more you walked, the more you felt like the walls were caving in. It felt like the world was spinning. You picked up your speed but that didn't help. You were just out of breath and more confused.

You stopped running after a couple of minutes. Your head ached and you were desperate for your bed and some soup. You fumbled with the portal gun and lifted it to the wall and closed your eyes. You hit the trigger but it didn't work. Sparks flew in your face and burnt your cheek. You looked down the barrel of the gun and touched the tip. You drew your hand back and shook it. That's why it wasn't working, it overheated. The first firing must've created the barrel to spin so fast it welded the metal you used together. You needed a cooling balm and metal balls to put in-between the metal layers to allow it to still spin but without fusing together.

You needed to calm down, first. Even with the cooling solution you'd need to wait at least a while for the metal inside to set. You kept moving albeit slow and full of caution. Even if your mind was mostly calm, You couldn't calm down your breathing, you splashed in puddles as you ventured into the next alley. You see a shadowy figure at the end and you sucked air through your teeth. You walked closer to it, just glad to see another person until you realized..

“Morty?” You gasped. You stopped running for a second. The boy turned to look at you. “MORTY!” You cried out. You rushed towards him and grabbed his shoulders which seemed to unearth an odd reaction..he stared at you confused.

“Morty i-i did it! I created a-a-a.. ehm it doesn't matter! It's just.. where are we? Why are you here!?” Morty stared at you confused, like he didn't know either. You let go and looked around. “Okay I can get us out of here.. i-i just need some cooling agent..”

“Uh.. i-i don't need to leave. Rick is j-just around the corner.” Morty said, looking around. “Wait.. I've never seen..” Morty lifts a finger to his chin.

“M-morty! W-what the fuck are you doing? W-w-we need to get going!” Rick came out of nowhere and startled you.

“Wait- wait! What do you mean? What haven't you seen? Rick, what did you do to my brother!?” You sounded defeated. Morty looked up at Rick and shook his head.

“Summer Smith is my sister.” Morty said.

“Y-yeah not in *brrp* in our Universe. You.. don't even exist in our universe.” Rick patted Morty on the back and began walking away, pulling out his portal gun.

“Universe? I don't.. exist? What the fuck are you talking about? Where am I?” You asked. You were cold and scared and very lost.

“Oh-oh man I think she's l-lost Rick!” Morty stopped and Rick turned to look at you.

“Didn't your Rick bring you here? Or describe any of that to you?” Rick said. “O-or *brpp* Are you going to tell me You're discovering this o-on your own a-and you stole your Rick's portal gun?” Rick laughed and you pulled out your homemade portal gun. Rick quickly stopped laughing and his face fell.

“O-oh shit. It's even worse. You made your own portal gun AND fluid!?” Rick looked around him. “Ohh they won't li-like this. Listen kid, you're in the Citadel. Just a word of advice? Keep that thing hid-hidden.” And just like that Rick disappeared through the portal before you could ask him any more questions. Morty also followed along.

You stood there so confused. Universes? Not existing? Citadel?

You turned the corner and ran towards the open street you saw. You hid your portal gun in your stuffed animal and held it to your chest while you did so. Suddenly you emerged on a street corner, the light had blinded you until you realized what was going on. Your face fell as you stared in.. shock? Fear? Worry? A mix of all three as you stared dead ahead as hundreds.. no, thousands of Rick's and Morty's flocked the streets.

You spent weeks trying to avoid Rick and now all you could see was his face everywhere you looked. Dressed as pirates, as reptiles, as cats! As girls?

You hesitated but you inevitably took a large step out of the alley and into the light of the street. This place was fucking huge.

You immediately began walking through the crowd. You had no idea where you were other than ‘citadel’ and you definitely didn't know how to navigate your way around.

You picked up your pace as you began to almost run through the crowd. You were awestruck.

If what Rick had told you earlier was true.. All of these Rick and Morty's come from different Universes across timelines that.. continued on forever?

You tried not to stare but you couldn't help yourself. But that means.. what he said.. about you not existing in his universe was true.. Was that.. common?

You walked past a T.V shop and stopped. You looked in the window alongside other Rick's and their Morty's as they watched.

“President Morty’s bill successfully passed, banning the creation or sale of outside portal fluid within the Citadel. Do-Don’t worry however, as portal fluid is sold almost everywhere you can buy a bottle of Vodka. No-now back to you Rick T-97.” Rick on the news spoke.

“Well I just think President Morty is fu-full of shit. *Brpp* this ban is meant for him to have control over u-” so that's why he told you to hide it. You weren't meant to have your portal gun here. But why?

You kept walking onward. Despite having a lot on your mind, you noticed a lot of things.

Rick's were.. insanely rude. Like.. pushing, punching, slapping rude. Abusive. The more you moved the more you heard. The insults, the feeble meaningless words, the forced labor. Rick's were.. the worst.

But how could you say that if you were in love with one?

You also noticed another thing. A lot of people had their eye on you. You noticed it while trying not to stare at a group of Rick's with leather jackets on. You were in your pajamas.. and you weren't wearing any shoes.

Your plan was to find a shopping center and buy what you needed but.. you weren't sure what the currency even WAS. You could trade someone your earth money but you didn't know the conversion rates. You sighed. Looks like you needed to find a junkyard then.

You began looking around you. You tried to find the nicest looking Rick but there.. wasn't one.

You kept walking until you encountered a man smoking in a police uniform standing outside a giant building.

“Excuse me, sir?” You walked up to him. He looked around and looked down at you. “Do you know where I would find a junkyard?”

Rick dropped his cigarette and crushed it under his feet. Blowing smoke in your face.

“Oh my, what do we have here?” He looked down at you, bending over to get to your height. “This isn't a regular lost Morty.. where's your Rick little lady?” He grabbed a strand of your hair.

“I.. uh.. I don't know? I just need directions to a junkyard.. o-or if you know what the currency is-” you tried to explain yourself.

“You're lost? Poor thing, let's get you somewhere safe,” the Rick grabbed his radio and held your hand. You shook your hand free.

“I-am not lost!” You shook your head and slipped past the guard who was shouting your name. How'd he know your name? You didn't even tell him.

You rounded a few corners and kept walking. You were clearly lost. Anyone who saw you awkwardly running down the street and drawing what seemed to be a crude map would know that.

You were growing sick of seeing Rick's face everywhere you turned. It was taking a toll on your mental health. You had built the portal gun to escape him. Not go where every single version of him was.

“I'm sorry you had to find out like this,” Divine’s voice startled you. “It's just that.. you had to learn naturally.”

You ignored her, your mind was plagued.

You were going to go back to asking random Rick's to direct you to where you were supposed to go but a crowd gathering caught your attention. You nuzzled your way in to see a Morty and Rick shouting at each other.

The Rick had apparently embarrassed him. Rick shoved him to the ground and the crowd was cheering for him. The more they argued the more Morty looked like he was going to start crying. Was this his goal? Was that EVERYBODY'S goal? To embarrass others? To feel bigger than what they were. You pushed your way into the circle.

“Leave him alone!” you struggled to push yourself between two Rick's in pigtails. The Rick laughed at you, letting go of Morty.

“W-what are you, his-his mom? Go back to your own Rick.” He approached you rapidly.

“Go back to my own Rick?” You snickered. That seemed to be what made you snap. “Why do I need to have a Rick?!” You shouted at the man.

“I'm here by myself, do you want to know *why*?” You squeezed your bunny tightly. “Because Rick's are weak. The only reason they're as highly regarded as they are is because they abuse everyone and treat them like shit!” You spat. Rick drew back in disgust. You clearly hurt his ego.

“You think you can sleep with whoever you want and weasel your way into everyone's hearts and hurt them? You are NOT invincible. You Aren't a GOD” you pushed him backwards.

“You call yourself Julius Caesar and-and I thought I was delusional! Thinking I could mean something to someone who's so corrupt!” you bit your cheek.

“No w-wonder why you don't have a Rick. You need to be put down.” Rick grit his teeth at you. His Morty picked himself up off the floor and retreated slowly. Rick grabbed you by the neck and you grabbed his hand.

“If you want to be Julius Caesar so badly, I can play along, your Morty can play along! They might be your fucking lap dogs but not me” you bit back at him. “Don't be surprised when I stab you for the greater good of Rome!” You drew your fist back and slammed it right across Rick's face. He fell to the floor. You didn't stop there. You kicked him in the chest and grabbed him by the collar of his lab coat.

“Apologize to your Morty!” You shout at him. He feverishly got up and grabbed his Morty's arm and began apologizing. “KISS HIM! Kiss his-his injuries better! And-and finally fucking take him to– to boobworld! Or whatever the fuck he wanted that caused this argument!”

Rick nodded and slowly kissed Morty's bruised elbow. Morty was confused and partially scared. You stared down at Rick and at yourself.

“And I want your lab coat.” You spat at Rick.

“Y-you don't deserve it *brrp*” the Rick dared to say. You looked at him and smirked. You leaned in to his ear, your lips gently grazing his ear.

“I spent weeks alone in my room with nothing but radiation and crystals. Nothing but the rage Rick caused me to keep me warm while I built myself from nothing. Unless you want me to recharge a crystal with your blood.. you give. me. The fucking. coat.” You didn't move from his ear until the coat was draped over your shoulders.

You slid in it and adjusted it. You were warm. Even if it was covered in blood. You grinned at Rick. You got what you wanted and you decided it was time to flee and so you walked the other direction.

If you learned anything so far, it as that Rick's everywhere were fucking assholes. They were mean and abusive and they were most of all fucking criminals. They were self centered people who abused their family and friends.. if they even had any.

You felt the pocket and noticed it contained something. A pocket knife. You were pleasantly surprised. Just as you pulled it out, a black limo pulled up beside you and the door was opened. You stopped walking for a second thinking you were in the way but two Rick's stepped out holding invitations.

“The Morty president.” You read the signature at the bottom as you were riding in the limozeen. In all honesty you should have read that before you got in the car. “Why.. does he need me?”

“There's something.. about you. President Morty's entire campaign was about bringing peace and.. common grounds between a Rick and his Morty. Your beliefs might just intertwine.” The Rick guard said.

“How am I supposed to help with that?” You argued, but before you got a response, the car reached top speeds, almost as if teleporting. You open your eyes as the doors next to you open. You were already there.. nice.

Suddenly the door beside you opened and you were pulled out. The building was huge, you were rushed forward by the guards so you tried your best to run.

“-The criticism I face as-” you followed as quick as you could while the men marched on. Voices came from almost everywhere until you were shoved into a room with large double doors.

Inside the room was a large table with several chairs, leading up to the chair at the head of the table, facing the large window, watching the city below. Bustling.
Mm
You reach for a seat but the chair ahead quickly whipped around. His eyes widened.

“Ah. Well, I guess the cameras don't lie,no matter how much scifi bullshit Ricks do.” The man in the chair was Morty. He was sitting tall, in a clean and ironed suit, fitting him perfectly.

“Morty?” You whispered. “But you're not my brother, are you?” You walked closer.

“No, unfortunately. You've caused quite a stir here… where's your Rick?” You stood beside him, you peered out the large window.

“My Rick? He's around I guess.”

“That means I probably have met him. Do you know why you're here?” Morty looked over at you.

“Because I need cooling balm.. and metal balls, about 3 centimeters wide.” you looked down at him. Despite looking like your brother, you feel a sense of authority from him.

“No, because your Rick made a mistake letting you come here. Do you know why there are so many versions of Morty, Rick and maybe even summer?” Morty motions out the window and you take a closer look.

“Well.. yeah. It's fucking creepy. Are you all clones or something?” You theory arose a deep laugh from the boy beside you, he sighed and grinned, you were wrong.

“That is something a Rick would do.” Morty began, suddenly a screen shot across the window and started up. “The reason why there are so many of us is because of something called the multiverse. So many worlds, so many universes, so many lives, so many Ricks and Morty's. Each dot represents 10,000 Universes.”

The screen flashed as you saw thousands and millions of worlds at once. So many lives. The more he scrolled out the more you saw the screen being filled, going from black to a mixture of colors, a mixed bag of orange, green, yellow, pink, and even black.

“All of these dots, or rather, fractions of the dots, are significant. They're important, but they're replaceable.” Morty’s hands grazed the mouse

“The reason why your Rick made a mistake bringing you here was because of this,” President Morty typed quickly, his fingers hitting the keys with a gentle clank and suddenly the screen flashed one lone dot. It was red. “That one dot,” Morty pointed at you. “Is you.”

“What? There's only 5,000 of me?” You looked at the screen in horror. Billions of Rick. You really were just the family doormat.

“No, There's only ONE of you.” Morty dropped the bombshell, he looked at you face it all. “And that one dot, that one red dot, the fact that it's red means it's only entertaining the idea you exist, until now I wasn't sure, nobody was sure there were.. any you.” Morty perked up.

“But.. if there was only one of me, why would anybody care to even look for me. I'm just a speck of dust. One. Lone speck.” You stared at the screen. You didn't know what to do or say. You were scared.

“As you already know, Rick's are spiteful awful people. They take and take and steal and grovel for what they want. And if they want to hurt a Rick, who is similar to them, they need ammunition. And since Diane is dead..” Morty dragged his hands dramatically over the screen with an X.

“Rick's also want money, power, everything. They don't like anyone else having anything more than what they do. So they steal.” Morty watched you process the former bombshell in terror. He wasn't even sure you were listening. “Your Rick made a mistake because now that Rick's know of your existence,” Morty looked at the screen, at the red dot as it turned yellow.

“They'll want you.”

The door to the office flew open as a package arrived. It was a jar of cooling balm and metal balls. Your eyes widened as Morty placed them firmly in your hands.

“I like you, I know you already have a brother, but maybe I can help you if you help me” Morty grinned. “Here, also take this. It'll send messages directly to me. We'll talk more after I finish my debate. You're dismissed.” Morty turned towards his window and you began to walk out the room.

“Wait.” You looked over your shoulder at Morty. “You're unique. Don't let a Rick take that from you.” you nodded slowly as the doors behind you shut.

You were told to run to your Rick and immediately inform him and to go home. But.. you couldn't bring yourself to run.

You're the only..you. you were an oddity. It ran through your mind as you opened your portal gun and fixed the metal beads and added the cooling balm. It whirled to life as you rested your hand against your head. The alley was secluded, enough for you to open a portal back home. You stepped through it and landed on your floor. You picked yourself up and leaned against the wall.

“I.. didn't see that coming.” Divine muttered, her head whipped towards the door and she vanished. So she could teleport, you thought. You stood up and opened the door. You walked down the flight of steps and into the kitchen where your entire family was sitting at the table.

“Hey.. sweetie” Beth spoke as you slid into your chair. You looked at your plate and sighed. She, nor the entire family, could ignore the seemingly traumatized look on your face.

“So, what did you do today?” Beth asked.

“I was in my room, doing some.. experiments.” You closed your eyes tight and rubbed them.

“See, she's fi*brpp*ine. You're overreacting, Beth.” Rick said, cutting his steak.

“Do you ever wonder.. why?” You stared at your plate. “Why do anything at all if.. if maybe there's the slim chance.. you don't exist?” Rick put down his fork and furrowed his eyebrows.

“What? That's ridiculous, you do exist, I mean, look at your hands! Your food!” Beth laughed nervously.

“But what if that existence was a mistake? What if for some reason you were only given consciousness as a way to punish you for.. for being created? What if you only existed to hurt others not- not like YOU hurt others but you're there so someone else can use you to-”

“Are you okay? What are you talking about?” Morty looked between you and Rick. Rick was indulging fully in his steak while maintaining eye contact.

“Look, I'm the scientist here. I can safely say that's not a possibility. Because no gods ex-*bro*xist.” Rick sat down his fork and knife.

“Look, why don't we all hang out.. together. As a family?” Beth suggested. “We could go to the park? Go to a movie? Let's go out to eat!”

“I think I'm okay. I just want to go to bed.” You grabbed your plate and got out of your seat. What was the use of being close to your family when there were millions of them.

You settled into your bed with your plate on the counter. You stared at the ominous cubed message sender President Morty gave you. When you twisted it, it popped open and asked you to begin sending a message.

“I'm testing if this thing works.. just… speak if it does.” You closed the cube and held it to your chest, after A few seconds go by, it opened up and buzzed.

“Testing to see if My technology works. I can't tell if that's Rick behavior or Morty behavior.” President Morty's voice spoke out. You opened the cube again.

“I guess it's a me thing.. I was just calling- or messaging you to ask something.” The cube closed and you waited a few moments.

“Ask away.” Morty said.

“If I'm the only me.. am I a mistake?” You closed the cube.

“A mistake akin to that of a paint stroke, one that artists adore, too much to cover it up with white out” Morty's voice was calmed. “Speaking of, I need you to do me a favor.”

“A favor?”

Chapter Text

You had a hard time getting to sleep last night. Coming to terms with the fact you're a glitch in the matrix wasn't easy. You spent all night talking to President Morty. You asked him so many questions he thought about coming there and strangling you.

Your bed was empty by seven a.m that day. You weren't going outside or downstairs just yet since you had work to do. You spent the early morning thinking about how unlucky it was, and just how on brand it was for you to be the only you to exist across the multiverse.

President Morty put it kindly, that you were an exception instead of a horrific mistake. You were grateful but the damage was already done to your mental health.

You were given an ultimatum, either you preserve your life, or you tempt fate, to see if you were even meant to be.

You were a mistake within your own family, you always felt misplaced, you felt misplaced everywhere. And maybe now it wasn't your fault. It was never your fault.

So what now?

Do you fight God? do you put your life to good use?

You ventured down the stairs slowly, you tripped on the second to last step and you hurt yourself, you laid there for a moment, trying to find a reason to lay there. You peeled yourself up and found a seat in the dining room.

“-and she totally begged for her life but like, Chad didn't care? So she's back to dating James” Summer’s fingers gliding across her phone screen.

“That's unfortunate for Bailey,” Beth began. “Oh! You're awake, it's so early though. Did you eat dinner?”

“I'm fine mom, I didn't mean to act weird last night.” You picked at your eggs for a little.

“I just wanted to talk about yesterday morning, I, WE think what Your grandfather said wasn't right-” Beth reached for your hand but you moved it.

“There's no point. There's a world out there where he's right,” you looked across the table at your mom. “And that world just happens to be this one. I always spent my life hoping someone would relate to me, to understand me, but the only people who can are..me.” You look down at your eggs and take a forkful

“I'm not the smartest man in the universe f-for noth*brpp*ing.” Rick grinned.

“Which surprises me.” You inspected the pancakes on your plate. “You're so sure you're the smartest man in the universe.” You bit your tongue.

“What does that mean? Y-youre saying I should be humble? *Brpp* Being humble is for people who are slightly less pretentious than a pop star.” Rick complained. “And I KNOW because I'm not dead yet. And neither are you.”

“I want to be dead.” You made the mistake of letting that one slip. You weren't even sure if you wanted to die, you weren't sure if you wanted to live either. It was too late to take it back either way, since everyone was already too shocked to let it go.

“Oh my god, dad I knew it! I'm an awful mother..” Beth’s voice shook as you spoke into her hands.

“No that's no-” You tried to explain.

“How could we not have noticed sooner!? Beth this isn't your fault it's mine, it's mine!” Jerry cried.

“Wait no, sto-” you tried to get through but Beth was already crying and Rick was already consoling her. Summer rubbed Jerry's back.

“Jes-*brpp*sus. They feed you and put clothes on your back and they still aren't enough to keep you happy. Spoiled if I've ever seen it.” Rick groaned, drinking from his flask.

“THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!” You squealed. That was definitely unlike you, since it damn near tore your throat apart. You pushed your seat over and stood up. “You, you tell me every damn day that you'd be better off without me!” You pointed at Rick and to Beth.

“You forget I exist half the time to make yourself feel better since you never bonded with me!” You picked your chair back up and pushed it in hard, shaking the table and spilling the juice pitcher on the floor. “you can go fuck yourself Rick, because every god damn day you wrong me, you dig your own grave deeper and mother fucking deeper!”

“You think you're a threat? You're a child,” Rick shouted

“and I'm a fucking-”

“God” Rick said
“GOD!” and you shouted at the same time.

“I KNOW! WE know!” You argued.

“And you think you could kill the smartest man in the universe? That's the only funny thing you've said! You're a teenager!” Rick laughed at you.

“and you're fucking evil! A bottle of holy water would do the trick!” You walked up the stairs and disappeared into your dark room.

“This family is a fucking nightmare.” You barely heard Morty's contribution to the conversation as he and Rick finally departed into the garage.

Everyone was going to leave soon enough.

You bide your time with the teleprompter. You sent a message to President Morty nearly once every minute and he was barely keeping up.

“Is it possible to create a new universe, one where I belong?” Was one of the first questions you asked. And Morty immediately shut it down. It was possible but it was dangerous, something you couldn't do and something he wouldn't do for you. It would cost a life that you couldn't spare and the deletion of your world meaning you couldn't go back. The regret would cause universes to collapse.

You waited on the floor for probably an hour. Your assignment was to wait for a sign. So you waited. You kept thinking about the flys or the sudden lights outside but nothing seemed.. sign worthy.

While you waited you heard something shatter downstairs. You freaked out so hard you almost broke your ankle getting up. You slowly inched into the living room where you could see the table holding your mom's flowers toppled over on the floor. You slowly stood up and looked over the corner. It was just Rick.

“Ugh. You better pick that up before mom gets back” you Gritted your teeth bitterly before turning back to your room but you suddenly felt the barrel of a gun on the back of your head.

“Oh, you're not going anywhere.” Rick's hand landed on your shoulder which he used to shove you to the ground.

“Rick let me the fuck go before I tell mo-” you protested, but when he flipped you over, you could tell he wasn't.. your Rick.

“This is Rick j-378 calling in. I got her.” Rick said into his watch. “This fucking universe is so hard to navigate, guess who I saw? Beth! Hahaha, I wish I had my daughter in my universe..” The Rick had trouble restraining you.. because, well, you struggled.

You kicked him in the dick the moment he turned his attention to you and tried to shuffle away but he had you pinned and hogtied. Your struggle was futile but it was tiring him and the more you moved the angrier he got.

“Let me go you fucking cunt!” The Rick tossed you over his shoulder like you were nothing but a rag doll and opened a portal. “NO! I don't have My-”

The blood left your face as you realized you left your portal gun on your bed, and your teleprompter.

As you both resurfaced from the portal, the world around you had a dark vibe, it was void of plants, it was like a contemporary modern hellscape. You Tried to scream but you were viciously thrown in the backseat of a car.

“What the fuck are you doing? Give her this! Were you followed dumbass!?” You heard another Rick, it scared you. His voice was hoarse, as if he was a chain smoker. He threw a cloak at you and it covered your head.

“No! Why would I *hic* be followed!?” the other Rick burped into his elbow. “Just drive.” the Rick fixed the cloak and haphazardly buckled you up.

The drive was painfully long, you tried to get your hands free and calm down and try to figure out where you are but you can't. You felt stuck. Defeated.

The car suddenly stopped and you felt the man driving slam in the brakes. The door opened and slammed shut and the gravel crunched under your feet as you were led up to the large building.

“I.D” the security system said. It sounded like Your Rick's.

“Rick C-167. Le-let me in you piece of junk *brpp*” Rick C-167 slammed on the door until it opened.

You were quickly ushered inside, overwhelmed by the crowd of Rick's and Morty's while you were pushed through it forcefully into an elevator of sorts.

“Where are you taking me?” Your voice was monotone.

“Somewhere safe ahaha- *hic*” his laughing devolved into coughing as the elevator door opened. You felt a sick sense of deja vu when the large double doors at the end of the hall opened and you were ushered in. It was a dirty, dingy room with what looked to be containment cells. You struggled but your efforts were in vein once Rick c-167 forced you in.

“I'm surprised to see you here so soon, boys.” Another Rick's voice sounded as the other Rick fought you vigorously, trying to get you in the cell. He forced your head against the wall, arousing a weak whimper from you as you crumbled beneath your own weight.

“Fuck, if she wasn't such precious cargo I would've killed her the moment I saw her.” Rick c-167 laughed as he rubbed his mouth clear of spit.

“It's a shame you aren't as precious,” The Rick stepped forward, he was shrouded in darkness. “Rick's are replaceable unfortunately.” You heard two gunshots and bodies hit the floor. “Like a fuckin’ common in a blindbag.” You felt the cold air dissipate as a calm warm hand rested on your shoulder. You struggled but he calmly let you wriggle away and fight the oversized hood in order to see him. This Rick was.. different looking. His hair was slicked back and he looked slightly younger than your Rick. He had a scar on his cheek that was painted over, but his sweat has swiped away the cheap quality foundation. Men like Rick knew nothing about makeup, nothing about women.

But then why was his hand on your cheek so comforting.. why did it feel like your thirst was just quenched.. why did you feel so much.. at home?

The man quickly grabbed your hand and pulled you to your feet.

“Are you alright, y/n?” You dusted yourself clean and you nodded. “That's good, I'm glad to hear. I should've known better than to let such selfish Rick's get you. Come, I have work to do..”

The Rick smelled of oranges and vanilla. He held your hand while he led you away. The men on the floor were nothing more than mere obstacles now as you hopped over then and avoided the spilt blood.

“Where.. am I?” Your voice was light as you followed beside him throughout the building.

“The Rick society,” The Rick said. “After the Confederacy fell, they relocated Rick's here if they didn't conform to the citadel.” He led you up a flight of stairs, to a sort of office. His ring clinked against ever metal and glass surface.

“You're.. probably really confused about names.. think of a nickname and I'll stick with it.” The Rick pulled a chair out for you and allowed you to sit down.

“I'll have to think about one, nicknames don't come natural to me..” you muttered. You finally pulled your hood down and looked around the office. It was a beautiful amalgamation of technology and nature. “Why…”

“why are you here? Well I requested you, of course.” Rick walked around the table and sat down as well. “it’s selfish, I know, but..” Rick grinned. “I really wanted to meet you. Forever, your existence was just a.. suggestion. But now it feels like something or someone somewhere brought you to us. To me.”

“Sorry, I'm still coming to terms with that.. I already figured out the only reason Rick's want me is because I'm a oddity” you frowned. Another one of those guys.

“You're a rarity! And the fact you were discovered means you're also a genius. Some Rick's have prophesized that if you were real, you'd be the downfall of us all, some say you'll save us, some just refuse to talk about it and some… theorize what you look like.” Rick's glazing made you feel.. important. You blushed.

“That's probably.. the nicest thing anyone has said about me. Thank you?” You giggled nervously.

“you’re a very lovely person, I doubt that.” Rick looked you up and down. It was like a breath of fresh air.

You walked around the office, and suddenly a screen appeared. It was the population simulation! Rick walked over to it and typed your name in. There you were! In all of your glory. Your orange dot. Was.. this the sign Morty was talking about?

“This'll put my family..” you spoke but something else caught your eye, a space ship outside the window. “Woah! Is that.. yours?” Rick nodded slowly.

“Yeeppp. A scrap though… hey..” he turned to you and tapped his chin. “You made a portal gun, you can definitely make a spaceship!”

“That's why I built the gun, to see the stars, to see space..” you said with a dream in your voice. “My rick never took me so I took matters into my own hands.”

“Fascinating..” Rick nodded. “With the sibling dynamic being off balance I theorized he'd spend more time with you. My theory was incorrect.”

“Yeah, he loves Morty..” your voice didn't hide the hint of sadness, displaying it openly.

“Well. let's cut a deal. I’ll take you to space if you can surprise me. Come see my ship in the mean time, Join me in the yard” His voice was kind and inviting. You could hardly contain yourself before nodding yes, a thousand yesses before watching the rick retreat. You felt at home, warm and fuzzy like you did when your rick would bounce you in his lap.

“Oh shit.” You said as you felt the cube buzz in your pocket. You pulled it out and opened it. It was a message from Morty! Was this your sign?

“Morty!” You whispered as you held the device.

“Y/n. Wait.. where are you!?” Morty shouted.

“I-uh well I followed your sign! I'm- I'm in a rick.. world? It's all ricks! And this one is really nice to me-” you blabbered

“Shit! You're too deep in, you were supposed to intercept the car and drive it to their headquarters and disable their Population tracker! Stop them from telling others you exist!” Morty shouted again, this time more frantic.

“I- wait! I can do that, just let me talk to him! I'm in his office right now, I'll get back to you!” You whisper back.

“No! Y/N DON'TYOUDAREHANGU-” he couldn't even finish as you clicked the cube closed and put it in your bag.

As if on cue Rick returned, inquiring about what's taking you so long. He raises a brow at you as you join his side and walk with him. You both reach his imperial ship, he guides you inside the passenger seat before sitting in his own seat.

“It's so nice in here!” You exclaim as he turns it on. The whole panel in front of you lit up, he hit a few buttons and the ship levitated before blasting off into the sky.

You grip your seat belt in surprise and brace yourself but before you know it, you relax your tight eyelids and open your eyes. The gorgeous sky and the town below.. It was perfect.

“Haha! Ugh I can feel it in my stomach though..” you couldn't contain your smile, and Rick saw this. He smiled as well. Staring at the sky above.

“Have you thought of a nickname yet?” Rick asked, staring up at the sky.

“I'll call you Apollo” you grinned. Rick laughed, gaining your attention. “What!?” You said defensively.

“After the Greek god? Apollo? What do you call your rick?” He joked.

“Ceaser..” you whispered.

“What?” Rick tilted his head.

“Rick. I- just call him Rick.” You stuttered, laughing jokingly, a faint grin on your lips. “But he calls me Brutus.”

“Brutus? Hm it's a strong nickname i suppose.” He pondered.

“Hey.. uh. I was wondering. Do you have to tell the other ricks I'm real? Can't I be a secret? You know? Fun! Spy stuff!” You anxiously muttered.

“That would be great but.. my boss. He's sort of.. he and I will take it up. Don't you worry y/n. I'll figure it out.” The ship slowly began moving as he piloted it down to the ground.

“Thank you. For uh.. considering it.” You said as Rick helped you out of your seat. “It was very pleasant to meet you as well.”

“Oh no, thank you for- existing! I sense we will have tons of fun. If you ever need me, we shall be in touch.” Rick grinned.

“So.. I'll see you soon, Apollo.. rickollo.. apolick.. uh..” you shrug.

“Let's just say Rick A for now” he grins. “There's a teleporter in my office, just head there.” He waved you off as he left. You entered the near empty building and hit the top floor, feeling.. hopeful.

As you enter his office, you slowly take in the smell and approached his desk. You see a hard drive containing the population simulation and pull it out.

“What do you think you're doing?” Rick A smirks. You drop the drive before quickly grabbing it.

“Leaving… with my belongings? Don't you know that theft is a punishable offense?” He says smuggly.

“Oh yeah, punishable by what?” You said, crossing your arms. Within seconds his hands were in your hair and your arms were around him. His lips on yours, hard.

“Fuck… what am I doing?” He whispered. Before he could ask again you kiss him again. He pressed you up against the glass, his tongue in your mouth. You moan as he pulls back. You reach for your clothes but he wags his finger. “This is your punishment.” He said smugly. “Once you return my hard drive you'll get your reward.”

You open your mouth to complain but you slip through the floor and land on your bed, the portal above you closing. Your face was burning as you sat up. Your house, your room, your bed. Home.

Fuck. There was this feeling deep inside of you that wouldn't go away. Was it pride? Confidence? Or were you ungodly horny? You had this sort of.. pep in your step? This.. feeling of pride?

Whatever it was, you needed dinner. You dance down stairs, you family already gathered. Their laughter was haulted by your appearance, the air was tense.

“So, y/n, what did you do today..?” Morty asked.

You were relaxed, peacefully layering your plate with food. “Nothing much, just.. hung out all day.” You were hardly paying attention.

“You seem… okay?” Summer said cautiously as she watched you eat handful of croutons while standing. “What's going on?”

“Iiiii have a boyfriend~” you said in this sing song voice, looking off into the distance. This got Rick’s attention.

“What?” The reaction came from them all in unison as you finally poured yourself soda.

“Mhm,” you nodded. “He's great! He's so nice to me,” you giggle, hardly able to finish your sentence.

“W- well what's his name sweetie?” Beth asked.

“Apollo!”

Chapter 8: 7.5 Red dot.

Chapter Text

Rick, I don't like this.” Beth said after you went up the stairs. “A boyfriend? We have to put a stop to this, she's too young!”

“She seems happy sweetheart, everyone needs their heart broken once and a while.” Rick replied, eating his casserole.

“No, like, we don't know this boy! Summer? Morty? Do you know anyone named Apollo?” Beth asked.

“I can't help you there, oh well maybe? There's this one guy named Apollo but I doubt it's him, he's graduating this year.” Summer added, waving her fork.

“Nobody's ever here to find out either! What if she brings him home? What if she gets pregnant!?” Beth whispered across the table.

“Don't worry Beth, I'm pretty sure she's smart enough to use a cc-*brpp* condom.” Rick used his break stick to point. “Summer this is you Territory.” Rick stood up and left the table quickly, as if trying to literally run away from the discussion. Summer sighed and looked over and Morty who shrugged again. She was probably alone in this. ugh.

Rick sat in the garage, silently, before picking up a very expensive piece of equipment and throwing it across the garage.

“Fuck!” He shouted. He slammed his head in the desk and laid there motionless as his mind reeled. “A fucking boyfriend? What the fuck Is this!?” He picked up his keys and paced around the garage. No.

You have been cold shouldering him, distancing yourself, and meddling in stuff you had no business in. If only you had just fucking— TOOK a moment to understand that space wasn't FOR you. EARTH was for you. Space was for the family- the family that's disposable. The family he could clone. But you. A clone of you?

He remembers when he played that little trick the first time. When he made a clone of you, to *feel* you the way he Always wanted it never worked. You were wrong, you were too *perfect* like how another Rick would build you. The way it chewed was perfect, the way it never tripped down that stair, the way it looked at him with pure lust, not even a hint of that fatherly instinct he wanted, he knew he was sick for it but fuck. It wouldn't even hesitate like you did. it took everything he said and never combatted him.

Even if he fucking HATED how you disobeyed his perfect family order, he needed that spice. Even if that's why you're all in this situation. It didn't matter if it would tear you both apart. This is how he keeps you both safe. This is how everyone stays ALIVE. All he needed was for you to stay alive.

An earth distraction is easier to get rid of. Definitely. A boyfriend? Killable, replaceable, mind erasable. What did a regular fucking human boy have that he didn't? Nothing, that's the answer. He never imagined you'd get so mad at him you'd do THIS to him. Never in a million years.

Rick drew his head up and inhaled deeply. He needed to go somewhere. Anywhere. Away from you.

He got into his ship and took off. He normally didn't drive sober, but where he was going, he'd definitely get his fill.

He parked his ship sloppily, like every other Rick, and walked into the crowded bar. It was Rick Paradise. It had a vice for every Rick and stray Morty. His was simple earth vodka, nothing more nothing less.

“What'll it be?” The bartender’s hair was shaggy, framing his face.

“Vodka, two— no three cups.. j-just leave the *brpp* bottle.” Rick said, slumping in his seat. The bartender nodded his hair and walked off, bringing back the bottle.

“Bad day?” Another Rick approached.

“Fuck if you'd ever understand.” Rick groaned. The distinctive sound of a ring hitting a glass filled their silence. He looked down at the rick’s hand and back up at his face. “Nice ring.”

“Thank you, my Diane made it for me..” he lowered his head in thought for a split second.

“I see you here so often. Melodramatically performing your words to whatever poor *brpp* Morty wanders In. Why the change of heart?” Rick asks, sitting up, taking a long swig from his bottle.

“I think I've finally cracked the code on one of our biggest theoreticals. It could draw in New debates, it could cement my universe’s spot into greatness!” The Rick raised his glass and took it all in with one big gulp.

“Oh y-yeah *brrp* which one? How to bring back di-diane? O-o-or how to finally get rid of that prepubescent asshole outta office?” Rick smugly quipped, drinking again from the large bottle.

“No, my friend. If you meet me here, let's say.. in two week, I guarantee I'll have it ready and you'll finally understand!” Rick slid a card across the table. It had a number and an address. His ring glinted in the light as he moved it.

Rick shrugged, taking the card and his bottle to go before walking out of the bar, “forgetting” his tab. He wandered down the street, curiosity nipped at his brain as he stared at the card.

“HEERRREEE-” A loud voice came from an alley, partially startling Rick. It was another Rick. “IN THIS SPOT! i SAWWW her!” The other ricks gathered around him, muttering.

“Who did you see?” Another Rick chimed in.

“Y/n!” The crazed Rick shouted. Which made the group shout and holler with laughter. But.. for your Rick. It made a chill run down his spine.
