Chapter Text
It's been a week since the last extermination and things were finally going Lucifer's way for the first time in eons! He and his daughter were building a strong new relationship, some sinners were actually trying to improve themselves through the hotel, but the best part was that the king hadn't seen Alastor in days! He had shown up at the last minute after they had already rebuilt the hotel, not that he was complaining, without the deer overlord there he couldn't mess up the interior Lucifer had made. Yes sir, everything was turning up just how he'd have it! -CRASH- 'op, there it is.' Lucifer ran upstairs to see Charlie and Vaggie outside the Radio Demon's door, his daughter's face perked up upon realizing he had walked in. "Hey Dad!" "Hey Apple Pie, what're you doing?" Lucifer probably shouldn't have asked, while he was always up for helping his sweet baby princess, it seemed this would likely involve Alastor.. Charlie cleared her throat and looked nervously to the side. "Well, we haven't seen Alastor in a few days and I'm getting a little worried since he fought Adam without any angelic weaponry-OH! Dad! Maybe you could help him!" She practically shoved him into the still closed door. "He might need some healing and you're the only one here capable of doing that!" Lucifer grimaced. "Eh, pumpkin...is there anything ELSE I could do to help you? Y know Al and I don't exactly..." Oh how to phrase this to his puppies and rainbows daughter... "Want each other alive..." Coulda phrased it better. "DAD! C'mon! This is the PERFECT opportunity to change that! You two just got off on the wrong foot!" She pulled out a key and handed it to Lucifer. "You've got to try, for me?" Aw no! Her baby doll eyes! That's how she got Kiki, even though her mother was allergic. Lucifer slumped his shoulders and trudged towards his inevitable doom, "Alright Char-Char, just for you..." Charlie squealed in excitement as her girlfriend carted her away with a fond smile. Lucifer gulped 'okay, here goes nothing.'
As the door slowly opened Lucifer stuck his head out. No screams of protest deep in static, no snarky retort at the King's expense, not even an acknowledgement of his presence that dripped with disdain. This was probably pretty bad, but it only made Lucifer sigh in relief. He crept inside, nearly falling into the mud of the bayou, when he came across a sleeping deer bundled up in about twelve blankets, an expression of clear discomfort on his face even with the smile. When the deer wasn't sneering or snarling at the King, one (definitely not him) could argue he was pretty cute; soft velvety ears poking out of the blankets with two tiny antlers nestled in that mop of red bed head. Before Lucifer could even register doing so, he found himself softly petting those pretty little ears, getting a soft and sleepy hum from the deer in return. The king blushed out this, that noise was too cute to be leaving the most feared overlord this side of the pentagram. Alastor began to shift in his cocoon of comfort only to settle again once the gentle petting continued from Lucifer.
The king of hell would never admit this out loud; but wrapped up so snug with his messy hair being stroked, the big bad Radio Demon was much less infuriating and much more of a dear.
