Chapter Text
Luna always seems to know things.
Not in a “predict the future” or “telling prophecies” sort of fashion, but describing her as intuitive or perceptive simply didn’t do her justice. Some thought her to be a seer, and maybe she was, but with no actual confirmation, Luna simply became that peculiar girl who often knew more than she should.
But one thing Luna knew to be absolutely certain: this was not the first time her soul had walked this earth. No, she had an old soul - an ancient soul. She also knew that her soul never walked alone, at least not for long. For one other soul, without fail, always found hers and this time, that soul resided in someone she once had no connections to. That soul resided in Theodore Nott.
From the first moment their eyes met across the Great Hall in sixth year, Luna knew. She could feel her magic singing, electrifying, trickling all over her body. Their bodies locked, that felt as if they were both under an Imperious , waiting for a command. Their gaze only broke when another student bumped into her, causing her to look away, but when she looked back, he was walking hastily down the corridor away from her. Luna could feel her soul screaming, yearning to be heard, wanting to reach out to him if only to let him know:
I’m here. I have found you again, like I always do. I promised I would.
Now back in the castle for their eighth year, she had, in true Slytherin fashion, slithered into his life. She was biding her time, like a bird watching her prey, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. To tell him, show him they are meant to be. Prove to him they once were, and always will be:
   Soulmates

Chapter Text
Years had passed. Two, to be exact, since Luna saw Theo for the first time. There was no doubt he had also felt that overwhelming feeling of familiarity that was reaching out, but he ran. That was the first time Luna felt the sting of rejection.
She had always been seen as a peculiar girl—too observant, speaking too boldly on things she thought were to be so obvious, and alone. Luna spent most of her time alone. Never quite fitting in or making those tight knitted connections that her peers seem to make so easily. Sure, she was friendly with Neville, and sometimes Ginny, but they never quite understood her, or made any real efforts to talk about her, or her interests .
Even after the war, no one asked her how she was feeling, how she was doing—until she was reintroduced to Draco Malfoy.
After the first week of being back at the castle, Luna had approached Draco. Hoping to create closer proximity to Theo, she saw no better choice than to seek out his best friend. Initially, Draco had brushed her off, thinking she must just be talking to herself again or spouting off nonsense. But what caught Draco off guard was when she said “I know you want to apologize for the part you and your family played in the war, but there’s nothing to forgive. We were all pawns in someone else’s scheme. Don’t worry Draco, I know you are softer than your sneer makes you seem.” Draco stood in that spot, mouth agape for quite a while, wondering if he was going mad.
They met unexpectedly again in the library as he too, found this place to be a refuge.
She offered him a seat at her table and, after a brief hesitation, he sat down, where they both began to study in silence. It wasn’t until Draco broke that silence asking her if she was here by herself often, to which she replied, her voice almost cracking from its normally soft and gentle tone “I don’t mind the solitude, it’s better this way.”
Draco looked at her with a raised brow, in a way that said he didn’t believe her, but said nothing. He simply nodded in agreement, but internally he decided he wasn’t going to let Luna continue to be isolated, self-inflicted or not. They resumed their positions back to their books and left hours after they were supposed to, simply nodding to one another after saying their goodnights.
That had been two months ago, and now Draco and Luna have fallen into an easy pattern of meeting in the library on Tuesdays,or rather, Draco started joining Luna on Tuesdays to study, or talk, whatever either of them needed on that particular day. He realized he would never get an answer as to how Luna could read him so easily at the beginning of term but decided that Luna simply knew.
One day he asked how she was feeling, and how her classes were going, if she missed her mother or if she wanted to talk about her father’s disappearance at the start of the war. These questions startled her, not recognizing the look in Draco’s eyes. Concern and genuine interest not something she had experienced since she was a child, when her mother was still around.
For the first time in Luna’s life she truly had come to understand the term— friend.
One evening, after settling into their usual chairs in the library, Draco mentioned introducing her to Theo, his best mate and the “closest thing to a brother” he’d ever have. Luna stiffened in her chair, which was an unusual reaction for her as she often remained “unreadable,” as Draco often reminded her. She had always prided herself on being able to keep a calm demeanor, as she also wasn’t prone to worrying, but knowing she would be in close proximity to Theo made her heart beat at a new rhythm.
Taking a moment to collect her thoughts, she looked to Draco and said “I have two questions to ask you before Theo joins us.” Draco looked back at Luna, confused by her intense stare, as well as her direct question. He nodded at her to continue, closing his book to give her his undivided attention.
“What do you know about soulmates? And is Theodore a Legilimens?”
Draco looked at her, noting the solemnity on her face.
“I’ve read a few books from the Manor’s library about soulmates; they’re rare and only a handful of witches and wizards ever have claimed to meet their true soulmate. Most resorted to a soul bonding ceremony as that was the closest to one they would ever have. Why do you ask? And before you answer, Theo and I are both skilled Legilimens, Voldemort wanted us to be able to infiltrate anyone’s mind. But you knew that already didn’t you?”
The library fell silent, as if the air had been sucked from the room.
“I needed to ask, as I need you to understand, Theodore is my soulmate.” Luna responded, “I’ve known for some time now. I see him, us rather in my dreams, but in other lifetimes. Somehow we always find our way back to one another, our souls made a promise.”

Chapter Text
Over the next few days, Luna and Draco met every night in the library.
Draco tried to wrap his mind around what Luna had told him the previous Tuesday. Soulmates, she said, with his best mate of all people. He was shocked by his slight feelings of jealousy; he was sure his feelings for the boy who lived—twice—would always remain unrequited.
But Luna had that sparkle in her eye when she said, “don’t be so sure of that”. As always, she had not elaborated, simply going back to humming a soft tune as she worked on her notes.
Understanding Luna at times was more confusing than an Ancient Runes exam, but he was glad to have her on his side; most others were not so forgiving of his name.
On Sunday evening, Luna let Draco have a peek into her mind. It wasn’t that he didn’t believe her. Luna may have been peculiar, but she had always been honest—almost to a fault.
They decided to meet at the top of the Astronomy Tower in order to avoid being bothered or seen by any other late-night wanderers. They were both grateful that the school’s curfew seemed a bit more relaxed after the war. It was a perfect fall evening, the moon hanging full and the stars glittering above, almost as if it knew the magic to be revealed in the night.
Giving Luna a concerned look, Draco warns, “This may be a little uncomfortable. Try to think about your dreams, or visions as you called them, and I will be able to peek through them.”
She nodded in understanding, her icy eyes staring back at his own in a way that said I trust you . Who would’ve ever thought Draco Malfoy would have become such a softie? But that’s just the effect Luna had on him, no need for walls when she could always see right through them.
With his wand held to her temple, he whispered Legilimens .
It’s a warm and sunny day, a rare one, as this type of weather doesn’t come often. They’re lying in the meadow, two pairs of arms wrapped around each other, bodies vibrating from their laughter, faces so close they could barely breathe. Whispers of “I love you” and “please don’t go, we can run away,” plead from the woman’s mouth.
The scene quickly dissipated as Draco was hurled into another memory, seeing the same couple as before but now in a different location, a boat launch.
The rain is pouring down. The young couple is embracing one another on the dock, tears streaming down both of their faces. “I love you. I love you. I promise if I don’t come back, you know I will find you again.” The woman attempts to hold back her tears to let out a whispered, “I know you will, we always do. I just wish it wasn’t so soon this time, my love.”
Everything fades to black again, and Draco can no longer see the young couple. He has yet to hear their names, but the uncanny resemblance to Luna and Theo cannot be ignored. The mentions of seeing each other again, how many times had they done this before?
A room with soft morning light appears. It’s not the same couple in view, but again, the resemblance to his friends is striking. This couple appears a bit older than the last, but not by much. It seems he’s gone further back to an earlier time.
“You did such a good job, my love, he’s beautiful.” The man turns around, holding a newborn baby swaddled in light teal linen; he’s smiling, beaming at the woman in the bed, as if he is holding the secret to happiness in his arms. “I’ve never been as proud to call you my wife as I am right now.” He hands the infant to her while she’s humming a soft tune. “I can’t believe he is ours. We just had to wait till the right time. Fate allowed us this, if only this one time.”
Draco was gently pushed out of Luna’s mind just as it came to him—the tune the woman was humming in this last memory, the same playing softly in the background of the others. It was the same tune Luna hummed to herself every week as they studied in the library.
Draco Malfoy had never believed in real soulmates, and had always thought of them as a fairytale not worth daydreaming over. But now he was convinced of it. Luna and Theo were soulmates.
And this was not the first time the two had met.
Luna's eyes, glossy with tears she was holding back, stared back at him before speaking softly.
“I don’t know how many times we have met, but this is more than any soulmates I have researched it; our souls are bound in a never-ending cycle to find one another. We have never been able to get it quite right, one always leaving too early, but we always find our way back . ”
With a deep breath, she spoke with a higher volume.
“I thought the war would be the end of us, our last chance. So when I saw him that first day back at the castle, I knew I had to find a way to tell him, to show him. But he is so closed off, I have had to wait. I don’t want to scare him. You’re the only other person I have told.”
Draco and Luna stared at each other, neither saying a word. The two sat for a few more hours, gazing at the stars while Luna hummed the now-familiar tune. Draco found it a bit disconcerting, now that he had seen into her memories, but also somehow comforting. They walked down the stairs of the tower in silence. Just before parting to go back to their respective dormitories, Draco turned to her.
“Your secret is safe with me, Lovegood.”
Luna stared at him curiously and mumbled, “Hermione is the only one you still call by their surname. You should really sort out those feelings. Goodnight, Draco.” She patted his shoulder and quickly turned, humming as she skipped down the hall off to her room.
Draco groaned, wondering at her strange capability to read him. He shook his head and shrugged as he headed down to the dungeons.
As Luna laid in her bed, she thought about Theo’s eyes. That was usually what she went to bed thinking about. Tonight was different. After reliving those memories that often flooded her dreams, she thought about what it would be like when they finally touched again. Remembering how her magic felt just staring into his eyes that day in sixth year, let alone actually touching him, she knew her magic would come alive . Closing her eyes, she drifted off to sleep with her magic pleading,
“I’m coming for you, don’t lose hope. We will be together again.”

Chapter 4: She Haunts My Dreams

Our First Theo POV!

Chapter Text
Theo woke with a jolt. This wasn’t the first time he had dreamt of her. Theo dreamt about Luna Lovegood every night, but he wasn’t sure why. As soon as their eyes met, his magic thrummed, singing a tune he had never heard before but felt so familiar. The voice in his head, a relieved sigh:
Finally.
Theo never quite forgave himself for running away from her that day. As he ran, he could hear his mother’s voice whispering, “She’s here for you, my sweet boy,” her voice causing his eyes to blur with tears. What did she mean? Then his father’s voice boomed, “Are those tears? You’re a disgrace to the Nott name. Looks like you need another lesson.” A lesson from his father always meant the same thing: Crucio until he passed out. The intensity of the moment confused him. The voices of his parents still echoed in his brain and that intensity terrified him. Luna was good; everything about her was untainted and pure like the moon... so he ran and avoided her. He had to avoid her in order to protect her; he couldn’t risk her safety by pursuing what that moment meant. Avoiding her was theoretically easy, but in practice, it was horrible. The more he stayed away, the stronger that pull he felt towards her.
“If I survive the war. If we survive the war, I’ll go to her then. I’ll figure out what this means.”
He knew then he would never be good enough for her, despite what his magic seemed to think. A few months before the war broke out, he was summoned. And like a coward, he took the mark. Forever tainted, forever not good enough.
Harry Potter won the war. Voldemort, his mother, his father, everyone was gone—and Theo was alone.
He missed his mother the most. He could still feel the blood on his hands from holding her as she attempted to comfort him in her final moments. Theo had tried to save her. He really did. But his father—not that he could ever really call him that—had Crucio’d her one too many times.
Theo burned down Nott Manor with his father still inside, immobilized by heavy sleeping draughts. With his role in the war, and the fact that all of the remaining Death Eaters and their supportive families scattered or were in hiding, no one questioned it. Theo became the only living Nott descendant that day. He regretted nothing.
Narcissa had helped him transport his mother’s body, knowing better than to ask why she couldn’t be buried at his own ancestral home. Instead, she arranged her burial just outside the Manor’s gardens so Theo could visit her whenever he wanted. When Theo arrived with just a few trunks of items and tears streaming down his face, she knew. Narcissa never enjoyed the company of Nott Sr. and was delighted to take him in.
They never spoke of it again.
In the months spent at Malfoy Manor before returning to Hogwarts, Draco taught Theo how to put up walls; it was not quite Occlumency, but enough to keep things locked away when he needed. Theo found he needed that quite often. Draco became the only one he let his walls down for.
When they returned to the castle, it was not long until Draco mentioned his weekly evenings with Luna. It sparked feelings inside Theo that he didn’t understand— almost possessiveness.
She was not his. They had never even spoken. All he knew was that two years ago, when Luna stared at him from the Ravenclaw table, he had never been able to shake the way her eyes were not looking at him but through him— seeing him.
He was still dreaming of her, every night, and grateful that this was something he could keep tucked away. Draco and Theo had been close enough that nothing escaped their friendship. This, however, was the only secret he kept from Draco, and he feared how much longer he would be able to maintain the lie.
When Draco asked him one morning if he wanted to join him and Luna in the library for their usual Tuesday study meeting, Theo thought he had blown his cover with the way he choked out a garbled “yes.” Draco gave him his famous quirked brow and knowing stare, the one that cut through Theo's excuses. But he grabbed his belongings saying, “See you tonight,” while rushing out of their shared dorm room. He refused to look back to see Draco’s face; he couldn’t bear it.
The thought of seeing Luna later this evening intensified the tremors in his hands. He would have to keep his hands out of sight to not draw attention to them. The physician Narcissa brought to the Manor told them that the long-term effects of repeated Crucio are still highly unknown; the tremors could last a few months, a few years, or worse, for the rest of his life.
He thought for a moment what his hands would feel like in hers. If her hands would stop the tremors. If his magic would sing like that day in the Great Hall.
Theo’s remaining classes went by in a blur, not even able to remember lunch. He’s sure he went, however, since Draco never let him skip a meal. As he is wrapping up Potions class, Draco touched his shoulder lightly, knowing any sudden movement could send him into a panic. “Are you still joining Luna and me after dinner?”
Theo nodded his head, unable to find his words. Pull yourself together mate , he chastised himself. Draco nodded in acknowledgement and left him to collect his things. As he left the classroom and began to head towards the Dungeons to drop off his things before dinner he remembered the night Draco had confessed to Theo about opening up to Luna, going on about how well she listened and really heard him. He probably thought Theo would be hurt but instead, it inspired a little bit of hope:
Maybe she would understand him too.

Chapter Text
Luna walked from the Great Hall to the Library. She attempted to settle these unfamiliar feelings, nerves she thinks others have described to her. She left dinner a bit early to wait for the boys at her usual table where the unfamiliar feeling started again. She hoped she had made the right decision in trusting that Draco would not share her secret. But she wondered if Theo had any clue as to who they are to each other, who they had been. She was thankful in that moment that these boys had no idea what wrackspurts were as her head was surely full of them.
The sounds of footsteps shake her from her daydream and without hesitation she turns and sees Draco. In his arms he’s carrying a tray, which he must’ve gotten a house elf to retrieve for him from the Manor, full of desserts. She noticed he had come alone but before she could ask where Theo was, she heard another set of footsteps approaching. “Wow Drake, you never will grow out of that will you mate?” Draco did say he had a sweet tooth .
They all laugh as Draco picks up a chocolate pastry and takes a big bite as he rolls his eyes. Luna is still laughing when she hears “Thanks for inviting me Luna, we haven’t properly met I’m–”
“I know who you are. Thank you for joining us Theodore. I’m glad Draco suggested for you to join us.” She cuts him off and as she went to reach out her hand Draco coughed, just slightly, and commented “You both have to try some of these pastries.”
Nodding to Theo he looked over the tray and Luna caught a glimpse of Draco notioning her to grab a pastry. As the three finished their shares of the pastries, Draco vanishes the tray with a wave and they begin to take out their homework for the evening. Luna notices Theo fidgeting his hands as he is reading, or pretending to read is more like it. She gently places her hand over Theo’s left hand, brushing her thumb lightly across the top. He doesn’t pull away, and neither of them say nothing, the feeling thicker by the minute. She wonders if Theo notices the flush in her cheeks every time their eyes meet–or how they both seemed to struggle to look away. She wondered how long until she could ask him if he had suspected their connection. She glances at Draco to see him smirking, almost smiling–his dimple flashing as he tries to be discreet with his glances.
Theo hasn’t been able to bring himself to pull his hand away from hers. For the first time in years his hands steady– just like I thought they would.
When Draco mentions heading back to the dorms, the thought of moving even an inch causes his heart to race just a little. He croaks out “I think I am going to stay for just a bit longer” his own voice betrays him. Draco looks back and forth at Theo and Luna and after what feels like hours says his goodbyes and leaves the library. Realizing he is now there alone with Luna he is hesitant to look at her so he keeps his eyes on his book, not remembering the last time he turned a page.
With a squeeze of his hand, Luna asks him “How long have you had the tremor in your hands Theodore?”
Draco was the only one he had ever talked to about it. He was not sure if it was truly not noticeable or if everyone was too afraid to ask. With a lump in his throat he replies, “They started to get worse about a year ago, but I have had them since I was a kid. Narcissa has brought me to multiple healers and they’ve all told me they cannot help me.”
He looks up at her now, and her eyes–the same ones that have haunted his dreams since sixth year–are staring back at him. His mouth dries at the sight of her looking at him. It’s almost as if she is reading him, and it is the most beautiful sight he has ever seen. With no hesitation she leans over the table, he smells hints of vanilla and patchouli as she is brushing a curl from his face and says, “It seems to have stopped when I touch you, strange isn’t it?”
Theo knew she was bold, but to have her this close to him both excites and calms him. He has never felt this way around another before. He knows he should ask her if she notices it with him, or tell her about his dreams. But what if it scares her off? It’s her– his mother's voice in his head again says when he realizes he has been staring back at Luna for an unknown time without answering her.
He reaches his other hand to touch the one resting on her notebook, noticing the sudden warmth that was flowing through his body, his magic feeling more alive than ever before. She looks at him with a softness he could never imagine being directed at him in this life, and says “I think you need some time to think about things. Shall we meet again tomorrow?” Unable to speak, he nods as she lets go of his hands.
He mourns the loss of her warmth immediately.
As he sits and watches her collect her things he doesn’t miss the glimmer in her eyes as she watches him the entire time. With the gentle touch of her hand brushing the top of his she tells him goodbye, skipping and humming as she leaves. As soon as he hears the sound of the door shutting he lets out a sigh as if he was holding his breath all this time. The tune Luna was humming he’d heard before… but only in his dreams—the dreams of them.
He collects his things and heads back down to his dorm where he is met by Draco who apparently was waiting up for him. They stare at each other for a few minutes before Theo asks him —
Draco, what do you know about soulmates?
When Theo walked into their shared dorm room asking him about soulmates he was thankful at that moment to be a master in what he thinks muggles call a “poker face.” After a moment or two of silence, he sits on the end of his bed and notions for Theo to come sit down.
“How did the rest of your evening with Luna go?” His tone is flat, hoping that his nonchalance and question will keep his friend leveled. But based on the way Theo was pacing their room, it wasn’t helping at all. He reached out to gently place his hand on his friend's arm and repeated his question, emphasizing a softer tone and asking the question slowly. Theo looks at him with his deep blue eyes, they look bloodshot as if he had been crying.
“I don’t think I should join the two of you for studying moving forward.”
That wasn’t what he was expecting him to say so instead of allowing Theo to deflect any further, Draco asks “Do you think Luna is your soulmate?” Squeezing Theo’s arm just slightly to encourage him, to ground him, and allow him time to process his question.
“Luna is perfect and everything I thought she would be. I never meant to keep it from you, but I’ve been having these dreams about her and me since sixth year. But she is good, I mean it’s in her bloody name for Salazar’s sake. I could never be worthy of her, soulmate or not. Not in this life am I — a Death Eater worthy of someone like Luna. ”
Draco gives him a few moments to ensure he’s said what he wants to say. Looking now into his eyes he says “You know that I know better than anyone here how rare finding your soulmate is. Don’t be a coward and let that possibility go to waste.”
With a scoff, Theo brushes off the hold Draco has on his arms and heads towards their bathroom. Before entering he turns back to see Draco just looking at him and says “You should think about your own actions, or lack thereof before you utter the word ‘coward’. Have you told Harry how you feel yet?” A long pause was shared between them. “Or have you apologized to Hermione yet? No of course not, because you still can’t tell Potter that you’ve been in love with the bloke since 4th year and you still call her Granger even though she deserves an apology from you more than anyone in this whole bloody school.”
With that Theo shuts their bathroom door and Draco can’t stop the tears that flow from his eyes.
He is a coward .
Theo is right.
The water is scalding, but still not hot enough to burn off the shame Theo feels inside. Soulmates— he’s said it out loud to himself for the first time, accepting his fate . He could never be worthy of Luna and she should never accept him. How could she?
Again his mother’s voice trickles in-- almost as if he’s arguing with her in his mind. “She was made for you Theodore, and you for her. Go to her. She can show you.”
He slumps down in the shower, the hot water turning his ivory skin pink all over. He wants nothing more than to find her right now and tell her everything— but the fear of rejection. The shame feels like a full-body bind and its grip was immobilizing him.
Well over an hour into his shower, Theo finds the strength to pull himself up.. He hears a shuffling outside the door, and seemingly forgot Draco was outside still. He shouldn’t have said what he did— more guilt— he needs to apologize. Dressing himself quickly he then reaches for the door handle just as the door swings open.
Draco is standing there, eyes rimmed red “I should curse you or at the very least ignore you, but you’re my brother—even when you’re a bloody idiot. I am a coward, but so are you. How un-Slytherin of us, our ancestors must hate us.” This brings a chuckle out of Theo. He braces his hands on Draco’s shoulders “What am I supposed to do about Luna?” Draco looks at him and says “Tell her the truth, I think we could both stand to be a little more truthful about our feelings.” Theo doesn’t need to ask what he means by that, but it pulls a smile to the corners of his lips.
As the boys settle in their beds Theo cannot help but ask, not sure Draco is even still awake, “In my dreams, something tears me and Luna apart every time. What do you think that means?”
Theo is met with silence. Closing his eyes he thinks about Luna’s hair, her eyes, and the look she gave him in the library. The feeling of her touch, how it soothed his tremors. The last thing Theo remembers before drifting off to a deep sleep is the smell of vanilla and patchouli—humming that familiar tune.
Luna knows something is wrong. She could tell as soon as she woke that something felt different. She felt overwhelmed by the disturbance to her normal peaceful mornings. The only thing she could focus on is her memory replaying— He’s not here? What do you mean? I don’t see him anywhere. He’s supposed to be here. She’s seen this one before, but never has it bled into her waking hours. This was her least favorite memory of the two of them. It takes over her consciousness, forcing her to relive it again:
There’s lights flashing everywhere and people yelling. She’s frantically searching the crowd for his face, but all of the other men lined up aren't him. He should be here. Where could he be? At the end of the dock, she sees a familiar face and surely he would know where he is at. As she approaches the older Sargent, he offers her his hand and pulls her closer.
“I’m so sorry but we were too late to save him, your husband isn’t coming home.” Her ears feel like they’re ringing—this can’t be true. She can’t form any words and the tears are bubbling over. He gives her a squeeze and a final nod and turns his head in the direction of the other families. Not coming home, again torn apart too soon. Once again she’s forced to be without him until the next. She curses his name as she leaves the dock. “You left without me, you bastard. How could you?”
Luna is gasping for air as she’s brought forward from this memory—their memory. She knows this can only mean one thing—
Theo knows.

Chapter Text
When Theo wakes up, he is gasping for air, gripping the sheets and blankets that have scattered off of his four-poster bed. Draco is gone and he is scared. It has been a while since Theo had a nightmare, particularly one that involved Luna.
It all felt so real; he had to watch her searching for him—as if he was hidden under a disillusionment and silencing spell. There was nothing he could do except watch her calling out for him. He felt sick to his stomach, hot tears still rolling down his cheeks.
He wanted to go to her. It felt almost as if she were calling for him. But how could he accept that he, of all people, had a soulmate, let alone her? He remembers he is supposed to meet her tonight, but how could he face her? The thought of her rejecting him eats away at what little courage he had to find her right this instant. He slumps back into his bed, damp with sweat and tears, hoping sleep finds him again.
The hope of more sleep is quickly dimmed when a few moments later, Draco comes through their door with glossy eyes, but his face dons a grin so big his cheeks must hurt, his dimples on full display. “Theo—Harry and I have Quidditch practice tonight, and tomorrow we are going to Hogsmeade. Can you believe it?” Draco huffs, as if pushing all the air in his lungs out to get that sentence out.
At this point, he would have believed it if you told him Voldemort himself was back.
Theo had never seen Draco look so excited— happy. He deserved that; they both did, Theo thought.
Luna was used to being alone. But she never truly felt lonely. The feeling was prevalent until she knew what it was like to hold Theo’s hand in hers. She longed to touch his hands again if only to stop the gentle shake from his tremors. And there was a strong inkling in the back of her mind that she knew he was likely not handling things well. Why else would she have started her day off the way that she has? The last time she had seen this memory was after that day in the Great Hall in sixth year.
She wondered if he was displeased that it was her to which his soul was attached.
Luna never spent much time thinking about other’s perceptions of her;, it never made sense to her anyway. She knew she was pretty. Maybe she could be considered beautiful with her piercing blue eyes, porcelain skin and long, white hair that flowed down her back. Luna knew she looked ethereal, which could be unsettling to some, as if she didn’t look quite real. Looks aside, she always knew herself to be different. But that didn’t always mean bad… at least that’s what her father told her when she was young. But she would never forget the confusion she felt when Hermione Granger called her “Loony Lovegood.” She knew it was not a mistake, Hermione was the “Brightest Witch of Her Age.” She didn’t make those kinds of mistakes; she had meant what she said. The rare times that she spent thinking about these things, she always reminded herself that she herself was rare, not meant to be enjoyed by everyone, and that was okay.
Maybe Theo didn’t like his witches to be different.
Not that she had ever seen him with another witch, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t someone else. Luna had known for so long that he was it for her. And then there was the whole bloody war… she had never considered anyone else. But she really couldn’t blame Theo if he had bedded someone else.
Luna’s face flushed at the thought of another witch touching her Theo. She would deal with those feelings later, preferably with her fingers in her knickers, pretending they were his.
Perhaps it was odd to have these feelings for a wizard she has spent just a few hours with, but she’s had years to sit with knowing that his soul sung a tune only meant for her ears.
Today was going to be a long day. She thought it may help to have a day of pampering to calm her nerves about her meeting with Theo this evening, starting with a trip to the Prefect's bathtub. Luna was not a Prefect, but people had a tendency not to question the things she did.
In thirty minutes, Theo would be joining Luna in the library and he was a mess already. He thought about not showing up, but imagining her sitting alone in the library waiting for him was something he couldn’t bear. He could and would face Luna.
Maybe she wouldn’t ask too many questions.
He picked off a piece of lint as he fiddled with his sweater. He’d chosen something soft and comforting. And when he took one last look at himself in the mirror, he tried to envision what the two of them would look like together. Luna was beautiful and effervescent—and he had nothing to his name to offer her. He should’ve taken up Draco on the Calming Draught, but it was too late now.
As he walked through the library doors, he stopped where he had stood. His whole world shifted— again.
On the other side of the table, closest to the door, Luna sat. She was sitting on the corner of the table, twirling her fingers in her soft wavy hair. She was wearing a thick cream-colored cardigan, knee-high socks and a light blue dress that almost sparkled in the dim lighting of the library. The colour made her eyes light up.
It was as if he was seeing her for the first time all over again.
Once their eyes locked, he found himself walking towards her, body moving on its own accord, yearning for her touch. When he reached her, she softly clasped his hands in hers. “It’s nice to see you again, Theodore.” With a stronger tone in his voice than he intended, not wanting to waste any more time, he asked, “How long have you known?”
“Let’s go for a walk.”
She didn’t give him time to answer as she hopped off the table and gently pulled him out of the library behind her.
They walked together hand-in-hand, followed only by the sounds of their staggered breathing as they made through the castle. Theo asked again, “How long have you known we’re soulmates? I know you know something.”
Taking a deep breath, she thought to herself, I knew we would find each other again.
“I have known since sixth year, and I think you have known as well,” she paused. “I have been seeing us for some time before that, I just didn’t know it was you. I don’t know when we met for the first time, but it was quite a long time ago, that I do know.”
Theo remained silent as they continued walking outside of the castle. As they approached the Black Lake, they came upon a clearing next to a billowy tree. She pulled him to join her in the tall grass as she cast a few warming charms to keep away the chill autumn evening air. Once settled, they sat facing each other, never letting go of the other’s hands.
“It seems we have quite the history together, but we haven’t been able to get it quite right. One of us always leaves before the other. It’s often too early. Just as we have found each other now, we promised to find each other in each and every life we have together.” Luna continued, fingers gliding against Theo’s palms. “I’ve seen us–It’s quite strange, isn’t it? To know someone who is currently closer to a stranger than anything else?”
The silence was so loud. She almost whispered, “Are you disappointed that it’s me?”
That caused Theo to shift his whole body closer to her. He slowly released one of her hands to reach up and gently touch her face. His hand slightly vibrated against her cheek. She placed her free hand over his to steady him, their faces almost touching then.
“Disappointment is not a term I could ever associate with you, Luna.”
Her breath caught as they stared at one another, only lit by the slowly fading sun and light from the castle. As they continue to stare at one another, she is at a loss for words for the first time.
Her skin sent spurts of magic through him with every touch, and against his anxiety telling him he was not worthy, he asked quietly, “Could I try something?”
As she slowly nodded, he released her other hand to bring his hands to her soft cheeks, praying to Merlin that his shaking would be steady for even a moment. She let a soft gasp fall from her lips, and he knew then that he needed to hear that sound forever .
He took her in, everything that was her . Her sounds, the feeling of her skin under his palms, the freckles lightly dusting around her eyes. Home —that was what she smelled like.
His lips gently touched hers. He was nervous, he’d never kissed another and now, he knew no one would ever compare to Luna Lovegood, his soulmate— his.
He continued to kiss her soft, supple lips, the corner of her mouth, along her jaw, feeling his magic with more vibrancy than the first time he ever held a wand. With tears threatening to spill down his cheeks, he wonders how he could have anything less than forever with her. Her hands snaked around his waist, pulling herself closer until she was straddling him. He ran his hands down her shoulders, her arms, down to her waist, his lips never leaving hers as she grabbed his wrists, she moved to kiss his neck. When he lifted her chin so he could see her eyes, she whined. Bloody witch will be the death of me. He pressed his forehead to hers, their breathing being all he could hear.
Their hands found each other again, “I still have so many questions,” he whispered.
Luna smiled, and he knew he needed to see her smiling like that again. His cheeks began to hurt from the wide grin spread across his face. She moved to lay down in the grass, releasing his hands in the process, motioning him to come lay with her. As Theo laid his head on her stomach, she began to hum that same familiar tune; Theo thought that would be the first thing he would ask her about tomorrow. He pulled her hand up to his lips, kissing her delicate fingers as she whispered to him, “I’ll answer your questions tomorrow. We have more time than you think we do.”
As she resumed humming, her hands clasped in his, he realized, this is what magic feels like.
Theo knew he would never be able to let her go now, he would take whatever she would give him. Anything— forever.
Fate be damned.

Chapter Text
He’s awakened by the sweetest sound, Luna softly saying, “Theodore, wake up.” She lightly strokes his cheek as he stirs, opening his eyes to see pale blue eyes and a soft smile staring back at him.
If he could always wake up like this, he’d be the luckiest wizard in all of Britain.
“We have to head back inside the castle. It’s past midnight,” Luna whispers.
He doesn’t care one bit; he could lay here with her for all eternity, never leaving the comfort of her embrace. As if she could read his mind— surely she couldn’t do that —she asks him, “Would you join me in my room? I have it all to myself so we wouldn’t be bothered.”
Theo doesn’t think twice before nodding his head, almost enthusiastically enough to be embarrassed. Except he wasn’t—he was going to share a bed with Luna.
As they walked back towards the castle hand in hand, the familiar feeling of doubt started to rise.
You’ll never be worthy of her. You will tarnish her image with your past.
She must sense his rising heart rate; just as they were approaching her room, she tightened her hold on his hand, quickly opened the door, and pulled him in. Her room is so perfectly her —filled with trinkets and textures, smelling like her too. He’s once again overwhelmed with that feeling of comfort—of home. He timidly walks towards the bed, unsure what to do as he’s only ever slept alone. He hears her giggling on the other side of the room and turns to see her wearing only a camisole and knickers.
This witch truly is trying to kill me , he thinks .

Luna couldn’t quite read the expression on his face, but she could tell by his vibrating chest and his agape mouth that she’d caught him off guard.
“What do you normally sleep in, Theodore? I guess we didn’t think this through. I apologize.” He clears his throat, seemingly struggling to find his words. “My shorts,” he lets out in a struggle.
“I can turn away if you would like. I should have asked before undressing. I’ve never shared a bed with anyone before.” She now regrets her carelessness. “I have made you uncomfortable, haven’t I–”
He cuts her off, walking towards her with a smile slowly making its way across his face. “You’re beautiful. I’ve never shared a bed with anyone either. I’m honored to have you as my first.” The thought of being the first to share his bed has her stomach fluttering. Her nerves form into racing butterflies as he starts undressing until he’s down to just his shorts right in front of her, never breaking eye contact.
The first thing she notices when she finally looks up is his scars—some big, some small, but all perfectly Theo . There are too many to count, but she wants to kiss every single one. They’re layered all over his body, like her own personal map. She doesn’t dare reach out to touch him, not wanting to cross that line, and instead reaches for his hand, pulling him towards her as she crawls into bed. They lie there, side by side for a moment before Theo rolls towards her, wrapping his arm around her, pulling her close until her side is molded against him. They are not making it to classes tomorrow.
Her body feels the warmth of her— their —magic, sparking across her skin with every touch. She turns to face him, reaching for his face as he pulls her in tight, gripping her thigh to drape her leg over his body. With their foreheads touching, she leans in just enough to graze his lips with her own. The grip on her leg tightens as his other arm snakes under her to hold her close. When he groans, her magic is ignited. Her knickers are completely ruined, and she knows he can feel it soaking through the thin fabric onto his bare thigh; she doesn’t care as she presses her lips harder into his while chasing more of that delicious friction where she needs it most.
She should feel embarrassed, but her whole body is screaming for Theo. As she attempts to stifle a moan, he begins kissing across her jaw and down her neck and whispers, “Use me, please .”
Theo moves one of his arms to grip her hair, exposing more of her neck to him, the other pressing harder on her hip, creating almost enough friction for her. She’s whining. She needs him. He laughs softly before attaching his mouth to her nipple through the thin material as she feels another gush onto his thigh. She’s spent so many nights with her fingers between her thighs but it never came close to how it feels to have him touch her. She’s close. She can feel it. She just needs a little more. She whines again, unable to get out a full “please” before Theo pleads those words again. “ Use me.” This is her undoing.
She loses herself with his name on her tongue as he gently kisses her cheeks while praising her. “So beautiful. So good. Made for me. Could watch you come undone for me, Forever. ”
She curls herself into him, wishing to mould them together and become one. She thinks for a moment that she needs to do something for him, but as she trails her fingers down his abdomen, he stops her movements just as her fingers grasp his thick erection through his shorts and whispers, “Not tonight. That was for you. But I needed it too.'' She's too exhausted to decipher what he means; she’ll ask him tomorrow. Just as she is about to drift off to sleep, she hears him whispering again.
“I’ll never be enough for you, Luna, but I’ll be damned if I don’t try to be what you need.”
She dreams of them as she always does, but this time, it’s one she has never seen before. Where it all began, the first time she lost him.
The forest is dark, eerie; she shouldn’t be here. The wind is howling and she is surrounded by trees so dense she can’t see the stars. The magic in the air feels thick, uneasy, and tainted. Her breathing picks up when she sees him. He’s in a clearing, but why isn’t he moving? They were supposed to meet at the edge of the forest to run away together. Her legs can’t seem to bring her to him any faster. Her lungs hurt from the frigid winter air. As she gets closer to him she realizes, his eyes are not right. They’re not his. Something is wrong. His body is icy cold, unable to be moved. She reaches into his pocket to pull out a crumpled piece of parchment; it reads:
Foolish girl, you thought you could outsmart me? You say you’re his soulmate. Fine, take him, but you will pay. You will experience the loss as I have until you accept your crime. Taking a boy from his mother–unforgivable.’
She looks up to see whatever spell he was under has broken. He collapses onto the snowy ground. She drops to the ground to reach for him, tears overflowing, confused as to what the note means. She knows who it is from. He starts coughing, drops of blood dripping from his mouth. She grabs his face, “Please don’t leave me. We have not even begun to live. We were finally free.” Sobs rip through her chest as with his final breath he says, “I’ll always find you — forever.” His eyes roll back and she lets out a feral scream as his blood stains her clothes. It’s silent.
Luna bolts awake, practically flinging herself off the bed, but she doesn’t go far. She’s trapped under weight and warmth— Theo . He’s here. She climbs on top of him, straddling him, brushing his messy curls off of his brow, kissing him fervently.
“If this is how I’ll be waking up, I’ll never sleep anywhere else.” He chuckles softly.
She kisses him, attaching her lips to his as if this could keep him safe. He wraps his arms around her, twining his fingers through her long blonde hair. She can’t get close enough to him. She wants to crawl inside his skin–she has to protect him. Kissing his lips, his cheeks, anywhere she can without moving off of him, she whines, “ Need you, please.”

Theo lets go of her hips to grab her face. “Shhh, Luna. Theres tears in your eyes. What’s wrong?” She doesn’t respond, just continuing to hold him, subtly rubbing herself against his thick length. He sighs, kisses her, and rolls them until he’s on top of her.
“I want to be clear, I have never desired a witch the way I desire you. But I can’t take you until I know why you’re crying, it’s not right. And it’s certainly not how I want our first time together to be. Do you not see how much I want you?” He looks down as if to gesture to his erection, which she’s currently using to chase her pleasure. It pains him to stop her but he needs to know what is distressing her.
He grabs her hips to still her. “How am I supposed to be a gentleman when you’re grinding your needy little cunt against me?” He can’t help the smile that breaks through as he laughs, pulling her tighter to him. Her face is blushing a bright scarlet and he swears he’s never seen a prettier sight. Luna Lovegood, messy bedhead, flushed cheeks, swollen lips. All for him. He closes his eyes to collect himself, and with a deep breath, he pleads, “Tell me what’s going on. I promise you can have me however you want, but only after we sort this out.”

Theo’s words cause her stomach to clench and she chastises herself internally, letting out a shaky breath. “I had a dream last night. I saw a memory. Not just any memory, the memory.” He looks at her with those deep blue eyes, tinged with hints of green. But with confusion in his voice, he asks her, “What memory, Luna?”
“I saw the first time I lost you, Theo.” Sobs like the ones in her dream rip out of her throat. She can barely get out the words “That was the first time I have seen that–”
That was the first time I promised I would find you, forever.
Suddenly feeling embarrassed with her behavior, she begins to pull away from him as she tries to hold back her tears. Theo reaches for her, tilting her chin. “Look at me. Please don’t hide from me. I can’t bear it. I think we should talk about this before we do something you may regret.” She wipes her tears from her face and looks back at him, her face painted with confusion. “You mean that either of us regrets.” He shakes his head, pulling her head into his chest, running his hands up and down her back,
“I could never regret you, Luna Lovegood.”

The two fall back asleep after Luna finally calms down. Theo has never seen her so frantic, so scared; it was nothing like he had ever seen before. She’s still sleeping, curled into his chest, and he thinks how he never wants this to be over. What could she have seen? They’ll have to talk about this later, but for now, he wanted her to rest. She looked even more beautiful when she slept; how that was even possible was daunting to him.
Theo’s thoughts bring him back to how she felt grinding her small body against him, needing him. How her face looked when she lost herself on his thigh the night before. How she sounded pleading—for him. That thought went straight to his aching cock currently pressed up against her as she lays draped over his body. He needs to compose himself. They need to talk before they move any further; they haven’t even discussed what being soulmates means to each other. But how could he deny the pull he felt from her? Being with Luna felt like coming home after a long day or looking into a photo album with your best memories— familiar. Now that he’s touched her, held her, kissed her; he could never go back to what it was like being without her. Theo would rather face the Cruciatus until his body gave out than ever not know what it was like to hold Luna Lovegood in his arms.
As he sighs and attempts to adjust himself without disturbing her, he hears a breathy “please” as he feels her delicate hand trace down his abdomen, leaving a trail of heat behind. She’s whining again, and he never wants her to stop. It’s his second favorite sound, the first being when she says his name. Her fingers tease the waistband of his shorts as he turns to look at her, her eyes pleading as he nods in encouragement Her hand disappears under his shorts and grasps his hard length; she’s unable to wrap her fingers all the way around. She moans out, “Show me please, Theo.” It’s taking everything in him not to lose it from her voice alone. His hand covers hers, guiding it slowly up and down his cock, tightening at the tip. His magic feels alive, almost electric, as if all his nerve endings have just woken up. Luna attaches her mouth to his neck, sucking a bruise., He’s close. He barely hears her soft moans over his breathing and just as he’s about to tell her, he’s coming. She moves to cover his weeping tip with her mouth and with one swipe of her tongue, he’s done for, coming more than he feels like he ever has before. It’s dripping out the side of her mouth, and he’s rendered speechless as he watches her swallow him down, peeking her tongue out the corner of her mouth to get every last drop. She gives his cock one final lick. She’ll be my undoing, this witch.
He pulls her up to kiss her swollen lips, pushing his tongue in and tasting himself, thinking how good they would taste together . His body feels like it’s glowing. He already knew, but for a moment, he didn’t feel afraid to say, “I am yours, Luna, however you’ll have me.” She’s stroking his chest and abdomen with her fingers, humming that familiar tune. They’ll talk about things later, but for now, they’re lured into comfort by their magic singing— welcome home.

Chapter Text
Theo was happy to spend most of the day in bed with Luna; it was the quietest his mind had ever been. But even Luna sleeping peacefully in his arms couldn’t stop the nagging in the back of his mind that was his father’s voice—
“ She’ll never love you.”
“She’ll leave once she finds out what a coward you are.”
“Those scars cannot stay hidden from her forever.”
It’s the last one that causes his whole body to stiffen. His scars, the ones he so freely exposed to her the night before. He wonders if she would still find him beautiful if he knew that some of them came from his own hand; his father called it a cowardly way to escape the pain. Luna’s grip on him was firm, even in her sleep, but he wanted to slip out of bed to pull a shirt over his body—over the scars. He just hopes she won't ask about them anytime soon. Through hazy eyes, he sees the time on the clock across from the bed; it’s about an hour until dinner. They had slept most of the day, but Theo didn’t care; they would talk about everything eventually. For now, he is content pulling her body closer to his. As she lay entirely on top of him, he stroked her lengthy hair, wondering how he had made it eighteen years without knowing what it was like to be with her. He never wanted to lose that—lose her.
I hope to be worthy of you one day.
After waking up a bit, he decides it is time to get up, despite his desire to be smothered by her forever. He is hungry, and she’s so tiny she must be starving too. He kisses what’s exposed on her face behind her massive hair, gently moving it out of the way to pepper kisses across her cheek. Luna moans as she stirs, and Theo regrets her position as it becomes apparent that one sound from Luna is all it takes to wind him up. He ignores his obvious arousal and continues his mission to kiss down her neck, across her exposed collarbone and shoulder. He’s gripping her hips as he feels her pressing herself to him, moaning softly. He heard her whisper his name as she reached and pulled his mouth to hers . Reluctantly, he pulls away from her lips, faces still almost touching. “We must leave the room soon. Surely you are hungry.” She whines, and just before he thinks he will accept his fate and ignore his hunger to be in this bed with her, she slides off of him. Theo places his hands on his face. Pull yourself together, mate.
Luna gets off the bed, and he can’t do anything but watch her. She’s beautiful , but that word is not nearly enough to describe it. She pulls some new clothes from her wardrobe, grabs her wand to secure in her hair, and says she will return as she prances out of the room. He’s slow-moving to get out of bed, uttering a quick Scourgify to freshen up, and puts on his clothes from the night before. Draco will undoubtedly know that he did not return to his room last night and will definitely notice he’s in the same outfit. He can only hope Draco will have some tact and keep the questions to a minimum in front of her.
He doesn’t hear her return to the room as he’s lost in thought, looking out the tiny window in her room. He feels her arms wrapping around him, placing her hands over his and rubbing her thumbs across his knuckles. She nuzzles her face into his back and softly says, “I have a balm we can use for your tremors if you are in pain. I also know a few techniques to release the tension if you’d let me help.” Theo’s face is undoubtedly painted cherry from his flurry of emotions. Does she really want to care for me?
She responded to his internal thoughts, “Theo, I’ll always be here to care for you. And I already know about your scars.” She slowly slides the sleeves up on his sweater, covering the bare skin immediately with her delicate hands while rubbing soothing circles up his arms. “You don’t have to hide from me, Theodore. We can take our time opening up to one another but know there’s quite a bit I already know, and it doesn’t change how I feel.”
Feeling a bit more confident, he ignores his sabotaging thoughts. He turns around to reach for her face, her eyes rendering him momentarily speechless. He places a chaste kiss on her lips, and as he looks back at her, he strokes her cheek. “Let’s get something to eat. I think we have another long night ahead of us.” Luna’s eyes flash something naughty, and he can’t wait to discover what that means.
Luna felt as if everything was slowly but surely coming into place, but she worried how Theo would react to her dream when she finally told him. She needed to talk to Draco first; he knew how to handle her delicate position. She also needed to speak to him about his likely-eventful evening with Harry, which would be a perfect time for them to discuss.
As the pair heads towards the Great Hall, walking hand in hand, she wonders if he will part from her upon entering or if she could join him with the Slytherins—or which option would be worse. They hadn’t even discussed what this was for them, but Theo’s grip on her hand tightens as they near the central doorway. He directs them through and onward to his house table, where Draco sits. What surprises her most is not that Draco looks surprised; he seems the opposite. Draco Malfoy looks excited , his dimples on proud display as he looks at her and Theo walking towards the table.
“Salazar, you two finally made it out of, well, I presume you were in Luna’s dorm as you definitely weren’t in ours last night. Or this morning. How nice of you two to join me for dinner.” Draco chuckles as he flashes his should-be-famous Malfoy smirk at both of them. She looks up at Theo, whose face is blushing brightly. He must feel embarrassed, but Luna can’t help but hold back a giggle as she sits down at the table, pulling Theo down beside her. She can’t help but wonder how many people are staring at them, specifically at her sitting at the Slytherin table with two of the most hated ones at the table. Death Eater scum, she had heard some of the students say. Theo must sense her discomfort, squeezing her thigh and leaning in to say—“Don’t worry about anyone else in this room. Draco, and I will always protect you. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Her breathing hitches, and she has half a mind to kiss him senseless right then and there, but her thoughts are interrupted by Draco clearing his throat and glaring at them playfully.
“Now that you’re here, can I expect a dorm room for myself for the foreseeable future?” Draco’s eyes pan over to Theo when Luna hears a thud from under the table. “We will talk about this later, Drake. Got it, mate?” She figures it’s best to pretend she did not see that interaction and starts making her plate. She’s hungry and wants the rest of the dinner to go smoothly. The three chat amongst themselves, mostly about what she and Theo missed during the day, holding off on asking about Draco spending time with Harry, as that was for a private conversation. They finish eating, her nerves taking hold of her, knowing an inevitable discussion was coming after this. She couldn’t keep her vision from Theo; He deserved to know, but she nervously wondered if it would change things.
He’s your soulmate, Luna, and things will change.
Before they part ways, she reaches for Draco’s hand. “How did your time with Harry go, Draco?” Draco’s cheeks tinge pink, dimples peeking through. “He’s magnificent, Luna. I can be myself with him like I am with you.” He must’ve forgotten where he was and quickly composes his face again, with his robes to straighten them. “We will discuss this next week during our study night.” She doesn’t miss the quick wink he flashes her. Happiness looked good on Draco. As she leaves the Great Hall, Theo quickly trails behind. She can feel her heart racing, her breath becoming shallow. Just breathe; he would understand.
They had agreed it was best to have this conversation in private, without the worry of running into anyone else, which brought them back to her dorm. Just as she did the night before, she pulls Theo in quickly behind her, shutting the door and wordlessly casting a few charms. Thinking about her vision had made her so distraught she could feel her emotions rising, her walls slowly trickling down, tears filling her eyes. She turns to face him finally, and she breaks. As she clings to him, sobs rip through her chest as he pulls her closer to him, bringing them to the floor. He’s cradling her, rubbing her hair, whispering—
“‘You are safe.”
“I’ve got you.”
“My light, My Luna.”
She looks up at him and reaches to stroke his face.
“Theodore, I want you to use Legilimency on me.”
Theo feels conflicted about using Legilimency on her. How could he do that? He doesn’t want to hurt her, but he needs to know what she saw, what has her trembling in front of him at merely the thought. With more firmness in his voice than he ever thought he could muster, he says, “Okay, I’ll do it.” He picks her up bridal-style, carrying her to her bed in a way that feels like he’s done it a million times before— perhaps he has —and deposits her on the bed. With his wand in his hand, he sits up against the headboard, moving her into his lap, his other hand encased in hers.
“Legilimens.”
"Foolish girl, you thought you could outsmart me? You say you’re his soulmate. Fine, take him, but you will pay. You will experience the loss as I have until you accept your crime. Taking a boy from his mother–unforgivable.”
Luna screamed, hunched over a lifeless body, ‘We were finally free. ‘
I’ll always find you–forever.
Everything goes black.
He feels disoriented; his breath is shallow. Luna is talking to him, but he can’t understand what she’s saying. His whole body is shaking, and she’s rubbing her hands up and down his arms. Why can’t he hear what she’s saying? She crawls onto his lap, straddling him. She’s singing, and she continues to press herself closer to him, rubbing small circles down his arms, his hands gripping the sheets below him tightly. He can finally hear her now as she stops her singing.
“This was not your fault.”
“Please don’t leave me.”
“I need you.”
He stops her movements with his hands, shaking harder than they had in a long time. He can’t bear to look into her eyes, but he does; they’re glossy, and his are, too. As he sinks into her embrace, he hears his father’s voice making its home inside of his head once again—
“This is your fault.”
“It is always your fault, Theo.”
“You don’t deserve her.”
Luna’s holding him now, speaking her affections towards him, tilting his face to look at her. “I won’t let anything happen to you—to us. Please don’t leave me.” As much as he wants to run away like he always does, he doesn’t.
As he takes in Luna’s calming voice, he hears another voice he hasn’t heard in a while—his mother’s—telling him, “ I told you she would find you, my darling boy. Let her in.”
He moves on the bed, motioning for Luna to face him. She grips the front of his sweater, eyes rimmed red and full of worry. He places his hand on the sides of her face, softly stroking her cheeks. “I need you, Lu.” He presses his lips to hers as she pushes her hands under his sweater, the feeling of her fingers on his bare skin sending sparks across his body. He lets go of her only to toss his sweater across the bedroom, not wanting to hide from her. Luna’s eyes rake up and down his exposed torso as she reaches out to stroke his chest. She had seen him like this earlier, but now she was looking at him. Her chest rises slowly as flush tinges her neck and cheeks, giving him a devilish grin. She tugs her sweater and dress off at the same time, humming as she resumes tracing the scars along his abdomen with her delicate fingers. Theo is at a loss for words as his eyes roam across her body. Her creamy skin was tinged pink, and her small but supple breasts peaked pale rose.
Luna is exquisite—effervescent, and he wants to bask forever in her light.
Seeing her body for the first time feels like coming home. Pulling her flush to his chest— where she belongs —he gazes into her pale blue eyes as she reaches for his face, holding it in her hands. She whispers, “I’ve always been yours, Theodore; I’ll always find you.” He pulls her in for a bruising kiss, feeling his magic ignited by hers, pleading, “I need you” into her mouth. With a devilish glint in her eye, she removes her knickers. She shoves him to lay on his back as she crawls on top of him, softly laying kisses as she makes her way back to his lips. His hands reach to grip her breasts, moaning as he takes one of her nipples between his fingers, pinching and plucking them gently as she begins to whine.
Theo breaks the kiss. “I want us to take our time. Show me, please,” he pleads as she makes the most delicious sound after hearing his confession. He’s rubbing his hands along her thighs, squeezing, pressing her against his hardened cock. She has soaked his trousers, and he has half a mind just to let her use him again, to see her coming undone for him again. He pants, “I want to see how you touch yourself. Teach me how to please you.” Her cheeks flush even more as she holds back a moan. Theo moves himself to the middle of the bed to give her room. Seeing her spread out on the bed for him is better than any dream he’s ever had; he’ll need a pensieve to remember this moment. She sticks two fingers into her mouth, staring at him with her big blue eyes, pulling them out with a pop as they make their descent down her body. He’s positioned between her legs as her fingers glide through her thatch of blonde curls, circling her clit before spreading herself open to show him her drenched cunt. He’s mesmerized, never having seen Luna look so beautiful. As she moves back to her clit, moving her fingers in tight circles, she confesses, “I’ve never touched inside. I saved myself for you.”
Theo almost chokes on his breath. This witch may kill him.
She reaches for him, pleading, “Inside, please. I want to feel you inside.” Luna is the only one he has touched, and knowing he will be the first to touch her ignites a possessiveness he has been trying to ignore. “Mine,” Theo whispers as he coats his finger in her arousal, “Mine,” he says a little louder as he enters her heat. She’s so tight . As he curls his finger upward slightly, he begins to rock his hand against her cunt. She’s still rubbing her clit, her breathing getting louder as she moans, “More.”
He doesn’t want to hurt her, but she’s pleading for him so sweetly. He slows his hand and adds another finger; her cunt gripping him so tight as he slowly fucks her with his fingers. “You’re doing so well for me,” he coos, “Saved this perfect cunt just for me.” His fingers move faster; he can feel her pulsing around his fingers. She pants, “I’m so close, Theo.”
He groans, “No one else has been inside your pretty cunt.” The sounds from how wet she is are obscene. He can feel how close she is by the way she is clenching around his fingers. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she cries, “ All for you, Theo. Only you.” He immediately replaces her fingers on her clit with his tongue. She’s whining again, “Please, please, please,” He teases and sucks her clit between his lips. With one final suck, she is gushing, coming with a scream, and pleading his name as he continues to fuck her through her orgasm, lapping up her juices. She has completely soaked his hand, face, and her bed. He slowly pulls his fingers out, and she whimpers as she watches him through hooded eyes. He praises her in between gentle kisses on her thighs while she threads her fingers through his hair. He moves up to pull her into an embrace as she licks his lips, probably tasting herself on him, before placing a chaste kiss and nuzzling into his chest.
He can feel her fingers toying with the waistband of his pants, but he grabs her hand, bringing his fingers to his lips kissing each finger. She begins to whine as she grinds herself against his clothed cock. He releases her hand as she pulls him out, “ I want to feel you, Theo. Please let me feel you.“ How could he deny her? But he’s too close. “I’m not going to last, Lu.”
She wraps her hands around his cock, stroking him with fervor, only taking three strokes until he’s coming all over himself and her hand. He can only stare at her with wide eyes as she takes her hand and licks it clean from his spend. She leans down and says, “I want to know what we taste like together, “ before kissing him. Stroking his face, she pleads, “I’ll wait as long as you need, Theodore. I know you’re nervous I’ll regret it or change my mind. I could never change my mind about you, but I’ll wait as long as you need.”
He wants to tell her he is scared but instead mumbles, “You said we had more time than I thought. I want us to talk more first, not rush. I want to ensure that this is what you want, that I am what you want.” She yawns softly, pressing soft kisses on his face. “Okay. Whatever you need.” He pulls her in tightly, never getting close enough to her.
Theo is lulled to sleep by the sounds of her breathing. Before he drifts off, he thinks, I deserve this. I deserve her. I need her.
The forest is dark; they’re meeting here, finally going to be free. But something is wrong; someone is following him. He hears rustling behind him; it’s much closer this time. He whips around; it’s his mother. “Why are you here?” he asks her. She laughs. “Oh, my sweet child, you thought you could leave me? How dare you betray your mother. She’ll never be enough for you. You will see that with time. Come with me, and we can pretend this never happened. No one will know you ran off and married her.” Anger blooms in his chest. “No. I won’t be controlled by you any longer. You’re sick. You have to let me go.” A flash of green, followed by darkness, surrounds him. “She will pay for turning you against me.”
If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky.
You can hide underneath me and come out at night.
When I turn jet black and you show off your light
I live to let you shine, I live to let you shine.
Luna stirs in her sleep, the words ringing in her head. Where have I heard those before? she thinks. That’s when she remembers —that’s what she’s been humming.
Just leave your stardust to remember you by.
Being with Theo and his acceptance of their relationship has unlocked new memories for Luna.
She has also noticed she’s much more perceptive than before, almost as if she can read his thoughts, but not entirely. She wonders if he noticed. She looks down at Theo, sleeping peacefully in her bed, his soft chocolate curls framing his face. He has three freckles on his left cheek, and she wants to kiss each one.
Her heart feels so full, but there is a nagging voice lingering in the back of her mind. A voice of worry worried about how Theo would handle the memory she showed him about his mother if he was having second thoughts and hadn’t told her yet.
It was neither their fault that they were trapped in–an endless loop of lifetimes cut short together. But they always came back, not even a scorned mother’s curse keeping their souls apart.
Luna knows how special what they had was; Theo knows too. She could feel it— hear it —in his soul and knew nothing would tear them apart. With that thought, she curls into Theo, trailing her fingers down his arms.
His body is trembling; he must be having a nightmare. Pulling his body closer to hers, she begins to hum as she holds him tightly. The tremors stop, and his breathing slows to normal. She’ll lose sleep to keep comforting him; it’s no burden. She’s been caring for his heart far longer than either of them even realize.
Just leave your stardust to remember you by.

Chapter Text
When Luna woke in the morning, her bed felt oddly empty. A few nights with Theo in her bed had spoiled her—she never wanted to sleep alone again. Turning to face the window, the sun shining in her room, she spots a bit of parchment on her bedside table that was not there before she thinks I wonder what this could be. Grabbing it, she reads:
Lu,
I’ll be gone by the time you wake up. I need some time to reflect on my thoughts, and I know you are meeting with Draco later today anyway, so I thought today would be a good time. I’ll meet you in the library around 9. Don’t worry–I know you will. I promise I’ll return to you. You can’t get rid of me that easily, my light. Don’t forget to eat today. I hope you don’t mind that I stole your lavender jumper. I wanted to smell like you today; your smell keeps my tremors at bay. I left mine for you just in case you wanted the reminder that I am yours just as much as you are mine. I know we are moving quickly, but my magic feels like it’s being brought to life by just being in your presence, and I can’t help but feel as if I am home with you. I know I have loved you many times before, and I know that one day, I’ll utter those words again. I hope one day I’ll be worthy of those feelings for you, Luna, but I’ll keep trying until I am.
Yours, Theodore
PS: I think I had a nightmare last night, but then I heard you calling for me, and it stopped. The next thing I remember was a dream about us in a garden; you told me you wanted a family with me. It’s my favorite dream I have ever had. Do you think it was us in the future?
PPS: Imagining you carrying our child is driving me mad. If you ever did me the honor of giving me a family, I’d worship you fervently–-more than I already do now.
Luna’s eyes were filled with tears, her heart feeling like it may burst at any moment—she had been waiting for these moments for years. Her dreams were filled with chocolate curls and deep blue eyes that she wanted to drown herself in, and he was hers. As she relaxed into her pillows, his scent still lingering in her bed, she thought to herself— I will give you that future, my darling boy.
She lay there a bit longer, daydreaming until she finally forced herself out of bed and off to shower, not forgetting to grab Theo’s jumper on the way out the door. It smelled like him– clove, jasmine, and vanilla.
She would need to borrow his clothing more often, as his smell caused her magic to vibrate throughout her body. Luna lost track of time in the shower, her mind preoccupied with visions of two small children with chocolate curls and light blue eyes. Theo’s hands wrapped around her swollen abdomen, whispering, “You have given me everything I never thought I deserved. I am enamored by you, my sweet wife.”
It was nearly lunchtime when she was done showering and dressing herself for the day. She was wearing Theo’s jumper, which was entirely too large, paired with a skirt and knee socks. She should have been more concerned about the amount of class she was missing, but she couldn’t be bothered to care. Returning to school after the war was a formality; she only returned this year for him.
Making her way to the Great Hall, she spots Draco already seated and goes to eat with him, but before she gets to the table, she spots Harry sitting next to him. Draco was making Harry’s plate, and they seemed lost in conversation. Seeing Draco so obviously happy made Luna’s heart swell; she loved to see him happy—his dimples were on full display. They didn’t notice as Luna sat at the Slytherin table across from them. It wasn’t until she began making her plate that Draco was pulled from his trance with Harry.
“Luna, I didn’t see you there; I hope you weren’t there too long.” She giggled over the panic in his grey eyes. Knowing he would not want her to make this any more uncomfortable than it likely already was for him, she glanced at Harry. “It’s lovely to see you both. How have you been, Harry?”
She didn’t miss the way Draco tightened his grip on Harry’s hand on top of the table. Luna had told him that although she had no ill will towards their classmates, she had never felt like they cared for or understood her. Flashing a smile with a glint in his green eyes, Harry spoke softly, “It’s lovely to see you, Luna; Draco tells me you both have become quite close this year. I apologize that we have not spoken much this year–” Luna cut him off before he could start a nervous ramble. “It’s quite alright, Harry; I think we all have had quite the return to Hogwarts. I’m delighted that we can have lunch together today.” With that, she went back to making her plate. The rest of their meal was spent enjoying small talk and catching up on what each other had been up to recently, but none of them addressed their romantic pursuits, which was quite alright with Luna; she was not sure how Theo felt about everyone knowing just yet and did not want to scare him away. They finished their meal, and before Luna left, she turned to Draco. “See you in the library later?” Draco surprised her by getting up and coming around the table to pull her into a full-body hug, whispering in your ear, “I can’t wait to tell you what’s been going on with me, Luna; I am so happy. I also have something to tell you this evening.” He released her, and with his big smile, he mumbled, “See you tonight, Luna!” as he quickly walked back to grab Harry’s arm and pull him out of the Great Hall.
Luna thought it was peculiar to see Draco so giddy, but then it clicked for her–he was finally free. Draco was free to be who he wanted to be for the first time in his life. Her heart swelled even more, thinking about how precious it was to see him in this state, and she couldn’t wait to tell Theo later this evening. Given all they had endured these last few years, Harry included, they all deserved happiness. They all deserved to feel free. Only a few more months later, they would be free from Hogwarts and could start their lives.
Luna would have her life with Theo, something she had feared for so long that they would not get it this time. We will figure this out, she thought as she skipped out of the Great Hall. She had a surprise for Theo and just enough time to get it together before she had to meet Draco.
Draco fiddled with his sweater as he made his way to the library. So much had happened since he and Luna last spoke in private, and he was teeming with excitement to share with her what had happened—what had become of him and Harry. True happiness felt so foreign to Draco. He was still grasping the concept of his friendship with Luna–he needed not to be a coward, admit to her how much their connection meant to him, and ask her about her and Theo.
When he entered the library, he immediately saw her sitting in their spot, and a warmth flooded his chest, a smile stretching across his face as he ran to her. Her big blue eyes stared back at him with a look of confusion as he reached and pulled her out of her seat into an embrace. Their bodies vibrated as they broke into laughter. “Well, it’s nice to see you, Draco, what’s this about?” He gripped her arms, pulling her from him to see her face shining back at him. “I never have told you how much our friendship has meant to me. This has all been so new to me, and I apologize for never telling you.”
She giggled and squeezed his arms back as she pulled away from him. “Don’t worry, Draco; I know what we have is special, but it’s nice to hear all the same.” He could feel his face hot from blushing as he huffed, “Right, okay, so we have quite a bit to catch up on, don’t we? Would you like to go first?” As they settled into their seats, he heard her mumble, “Sure, Draco, I’ll let you collect yourself first. I know that admission was difficult for you, and no, I do not fault you for that, so relax your hands.” He hated how well she could read him.
Her voice cracked a bit as she began to speak. “Being with Theodore has been more magical than I could have ever imagined. It feels as if we are rushing things but, at the same time–not moving fast enough. I should tell you I have not been honest with you, Draco. I have told you how I have known for years that Theo is my soulmate, but I never told you how much I saw—how much I had to watch from the shadows. I knew about his scars before he ever showed me the ones that are scarred into his skin, the ones that are scabbed over into the very fiber of his being–I watched those form, and I couldn’t do anything to help. I had to let everything play out how it was supposed to, without my interference, so I simply watched—always lingering, observing, trying to understand how we could ever get even a sliver of a chance to love one another in this timeline. So, holding him in my arms as I fell asleep last night felt like a dream I never thought would come true and coming home simultaneously.” Her body began to shake as she seemed to be struggling to hold back sobs; Draco reached for her hand—squeezing it tight while he waited for her to compose herself enough to speak. Draco did not want to cut her off; he knew all too well how much the sting of not feeling heard felt.
With her shoulder slumped, Luna spoke. “I am so scared of losing him again, Draco. We are doomed to repeat this cycle for all eternity, and I don’t know how to break it. What if he stops looking for me? What if one day we can’t find each other again?”
Draco hasn’t had the chance to tell her that he has been searching through the Malfoy library for a way to break that cycle, only to find a few potential solutions, but there is nothing definite. “Luna, I know you don’t believe that to be true. My mother is helping me research how to help you and Theo, but you must know that soulmates always find one another, even if the timing is not perfect. There will never be a timeline that your souls do not meet.” She looked back at him with glossy eyes, her usually perfect complexion speckled with red blotches, “I apologize for the outburst, Draco; I am simply overwhelmed–in the best way. Being with Theodore, touching him, and kissing him makes me feel as if I am the most powerful Witch ever to exist simply because his heart— our history– is so pure and potent. I know that I love him because I have before; I can feel it. When he touches me, it feels like sparks will ignite from my skin, and his mouth is the only thing that could put it out.” She shut her mouth abruptly, covering it with her hand to stifle a laugh. “I apologize for oversharing about Theo and I’s intimate relations, Draco.”
Before he can think of a formal response, he blurts out, “Well, I never expected the both of you to stay virgins forever. However, I will let Theodore take the lead on that conversation with you. You will be pleased to know that I am in love with Harry Potter. We are not virgins, and I have already written to my mother that we will be married in the fall after the school year ends.” Luna gives him a perplexed look before sighing, “Does Harry know you will be getting married so soon after finishing school?”
With a smirk, he squeezes her hand a little tighter and says, “Of course not, but how could he say no to me when he says my name so prettily while the Malfoy crest on my hand is inside him?” They immediately burst into a fit of laughter. “Okay, Draco, you made your point; we can be open with each other about our sexual endeavors. Fantastic.”
The two continue to catch up and lose track of time, quickly collecting his things before parting ways to head back to the common rooms. Before Luna is out of earshot, he yells, “Oh, and Luna, before I go, I need you to know something. I’m glad Theo has you; if it’s up to me, the both of you will live a long, healthy life and make me a godfather a few times over.” He winked at her, and Luna giggled her face bright red. “Goodnight, Draco,” she said as she packed her things while waiting for Theo.
He has to figure out how to keep them together, no matter what it takes. He thinks as he exits the library.
When it was half past nine and Theo hadn’t shown up to the library to meet Luna, she began to worry. When it was now ten, and he was still nowhere to be found, she was in a state of panic. She grabbed her things and ran to her dorm, thinking maybe he was waiting for her there. Nothing prepared her for what she saw when she arrived—
Nothing. Her room looked the way she had left it earlier that day.
Which meant Theo never came back.
Luna could feel her heart pounding through her chest; she could hear it—the room spinning; everything went black as she heard her name being called just outside of her reach.
Theo felt his heart stop at the sight before him—Luna shaking, collapsing on the floor; she was unresponsive to his calling of her name. Dropping to the floor, he pulls her into his arms, rubbing his hands up and down her body, speaking to her, “Luna, baby, please open your eyes. I need you to wake up for me; I am so sorry I was late. Please, Lu, I need you; I can’t lose you already.” Unable to control his emotions, tears are streaming down his face as he continues to try and comfort her. After what feels like an eternity, she finally opens her eyes, reaching for him. “You’re here; I waited for you. I thought I lost you.” Her eyes were rimmed red, and her face swollen from crying–he never wanted to see her like this again. “Lu, I am so sorry I was late. I was meeting with Narcissa, and it took longer than I thought it would.”
She sits up to face him, his arms wrapped firmly around her slender waist. Her hands tenderly touch his face. “What were you doing with Narcissa Theodore?” He lets go to reach behind him, grabbing the box he had dropped behind him, looking back at her, and placing it in her hands.
“My mother stored this away for me to give to someone I love—someone with whom I would bind my magic one day. I want you to know that even though I am terrified of my feelings for you, Lu.”
He struggles to keep his voice from breaking as he says, “I am falling in love with you, Luna Pandora Lovegood.” Luna placed the box in her lap before pulling him in for a searing kiss. Holding his face to hers, her lips ghosting, she says, “I am yours, Theodore Ignatius Nott and I have been far longer than I’d care to admit.” She softly kissed his lips again before leaning back to open the box—revealing a dainty silver necklace with a singular pendant hanging in the middle: an opal surrounded by small delicate diamonds. With tears filling her eyes once more, she smiles and whispers, “It’s your birthstone, an opal for my sweet Scorpio. It’s beautiful, Theodore. Will you put it on me?” She hands the box to him and turns, moving her long curls out of the way—he kisses her neck where it closes as it fastens against her creamy skin.
She turns to face him again, and Theo feels as if his heart could burst when he sees his birthstone— marking her as his lie against her skin. He can’t hold back the groan that escapes his lips, and he pulls her back into his lap, attaching his lips to any part of her skin he can reach. “I’ll never get enough of you–never tire seeing that necklace around your neck, knowing I am yours.” Luna is panting against his neck as he feels her pressing herself harder against him. “You like that, don’t you, my sweet Witch?” A moan slips from her lips, and he can’t help but buck his hips to her, forcing another moan out of her mouth. He could do this all night to see what other delicious sounds he could pull from her. “You’re mine, and I am yours. No one else will ever see you like this, will they?” She flashes him a devilish smirk before taking his hand and gripping her hip, bringing it up under her skirt—no knickers, placing his fingers against her sodden curls before she pants, “Only yours, Theodore, no one else—forever.” His mind temporarily broke at her confession. “You walked around the castle with no knickers? What were you hoping for, Lu? I would like to take you to the library where anyone can find us. But I wouldn’t, and you know that.” He licked a stripe up her neck as he plunged two thick fingers into her cunt, causing him to moan even louder as she soaked his hand. Feeling for that spongy spot he knows will have her soaking his lap, he continues his assault on her neck, “But I wouldn’t do that, and do you know why that is?” Before she can answer, he moves his fingers at a punishing pace; he can feel her tightening around him—she’s close. “Tell me, Lu, why wouldn’t I do that?” He bites her neck, groaning, trying to hold back his orgasm; she breaks. “Yours, only yours,” she pleads as he continues to fuck her through her orgasm. As he slumps into his cheek, he brings his fingers to her mouth, feeling her take his fingers greedily. He pulls her face to his, softly licking her lips before she presses her lips against his, opening her mouth to greet his tongue with hers. The taste of her pleasure exchanged between them both; he breaks the kiss to whisper, “I’ll never get enough of you; you were made for me. I was made for you. Use me however you want, Lu; I want it all.”
She giggled, pushing him down to the ground before littering his face in kisses. “I want you all to myself, Theodore; I’m afraid I am too worried about losing you.” He could see the concern breaking through her eyes; he wanted to reassure her.
He spent so much time today thinking about what he would do if he lost her but looking into her bright blue eyes, all he wants to do is savor every precious moment with her forever. Holding her face, he gently strokes her cheeks, “Lu, I’m not going anywhere. We have all the time in the world, my love. I promise.” A grin spreads across her face—it’s the most beautiful sight as she whispers, “Forever.” She lays her head on his chest, their breathing slowing; he knows his feelings of worry will soon dissipate, finding solace in their current time together.
As he closes his eyes, their bodies lying on the rug in the middle of Luna’s bedroom, he thinks about all of the times he almost gave up—during the war, when he lost his mother, all of it; this moment right here with her has made everything worth it.
Thank the gods she waited for me. He thinks as he drifts off to sleep, hearing that tune he knows belongs to them.
You’ll be my star, and I’ll be your sky.

Chapter Text
The end of the school year had arrived–their last night in the castle, her last night in the place where she and Theo’s relationship had blossomed into something more beautiful than she could have ever imagined. Luna can still vividly remember the day Theo told her he loved her. Twisting the delicate opal that hung on her chest, she closed her eyes to relive that day.
The smell of newly arrived Spring surrounded them. Theo reached for her hand from the spot he lay next to her. Her belly was full from the treats she packed in the basket; her heart was full for him. Theo pulled her on top of him, wrapping his arms around her to pull her in for a tight squeeze. She loved how he smelled, loved feeling his tremors lessen the more he rubbed his hands up and down her back. She loved him endlessly and told him every chance she got, even though he hadn’t said it. He moved his hands to reach for her face, bringing it to his, their noses touching.“I’m in love with you, Lu. It’s like you’re etched into my bones, my magic igniting when you’re near.” She planted her lips on his, tears streaming down both of their cheeks—everything was perfect. “I love you too, Theodore, till the end. I’ll do it all over again, every single time. For you, it’s always only been you.”
Draco often teased the two of them for how in sync they were with one another. He always said it felt like he was interrupting a deep conversation when he approached them together–
And sometimes, she felt as if the axis at which her world spun was Theo.
Her heart bloomed at the memory, closing her eyes, and her arms crossed around her as her hands smoothed their way up and down her arms.
“The whole castle can see the Thestrals now; I just wish we all weren’t so afraid of them,” Luna sighed as she leaned onto Theo’s shoulder. It startled her as he grabbed her hand with a firmness he usually refrained from using with her, “I love the way you see things, my light.” He chuckled as he brought her hand to his lips, peppering them with kisses,
“You are truly remarkable, Lu, approaching things without fear or prejudice, quite the opposite of how I was raised to be. You make me a better man.” She brought her other hand to his face, looking into those deep ocean eyes she couldn’t get enough of.
“I do not live without fear, Theodore. I have been ostracized my whole life simply for knowing or seeing things others were too blinded in ignorance or their own fear to see. Disregarded as a threat simply because everyone assumed my head was not screwed on just right; I lived so much of my life in fear.” Her voice trembling at her confession, “It’s funny, my mother was always fearful of my visions, they scared me at times myself, but I do not fear them per se; how could I? They brought me to you. I just did not understand them quite yet, just like others did not understand me, but you did.” Bringing her lips to his, she let them linger momentarily before trailing her lips across his jaw, pulling herself into his lap. When the pale sky met the depths of the ocean, she whispered.
“We fear what we do not know; it’s in our nature. However, I know that I will never fear or have fear with you, Theodore.” Bringing her lips back to his before he could protest or argue, he let out a moan into her mouth, pulling her closer to him, feeling his growing erection press up against her before growling out, “You’ll be the death of me, Witch.” A smile spread across her face before quipping back, “In every timeline, Theodore, each.” Laying another kiss, punctuating each word with another press of her lips.
“Each,” “and every”, “one”.
The two burst into a fit of giggles.
Luna was in such a trance, remembering that day near the Thestrals, that she didn’t realize Theo had slipped into her room. He bounced onto the bed with a devilish grin on his face, and she felt her body heat with excitement. “What were you thinking about Lu?” She pushed herself off the floor and onto the bed, right on top of him. “Just thinking about how far we have come, Theodore.” His eyes darkened, hands roaming to grip her hips, flipping them until he was on top of her, caging her in with his forearms.
“Well, that’s exactly why I came here, Lu: to see how many times I can make my Witch come before we leave this room forever.” She couldn’t contain the laugh from his remark as she wrapped her legs around his waist. “Are you going to keep making me wait?” The question lingered in the thick of their mingled breath–they still had not crossed that final line.
“Are you sure?” Their conversation never made it this far, always ending with an explanation of how he did not want to taint her or that she may change her mind, but something in the way his eyes were darkening at the sight of her pinned under him at the moment made her realize that tonight would change everything.
Theo couldn’t believe what he saw before his eyes; she was perfect with rosy flushed cheeks, her chest heaving, crystal eyes blown wide–and she was his. Pressing his lips to hers as he pulled the top of her tank top down to reveal her perfectly pink nipples, swallowing her moans as he began to pinch and squeeze her breasts only breaking the kiss to move his mouth to take one into his mouth as his free hand roamed her body until he was met with her completely soaked knickers. “Is this all for me love? Soaking through your knickers as you fantasize about taking my cock for the first time?” Nodding her head yes, she whimpered a frantic “Please Theodore, it’s all for you.” That plea went straight to his cock as he pulled her knickers to the side to gently tease the seam of her cunt, giving her, not nearly enough pressure but he knew she would be begging for him soon. “I want to make sure you’re ready for me Lu, can you be patient for me? I’ll give it to you I promise.” Her response was to vanish their clothes to her wardrobe eliciting a laugh from him, “My clever Witch, so needy for me” Absorbing the look on her face when he plunged two fingers inside of her without warning, she was soaked. He immediately found that spongy part inside that only he could reach, curling and pumping his fingers as the sounds of her arousal filled the room–with the press of his other hand on her lower stomach she came apart for him with a scream, soaking the bed beneath them. “Such a good little Witch for me.” Slowing his fingers as he continued his motions through her aftershocks, “Can you give me one more?” She whined but he was greedy and he always took what he could from her like this. Her second orgasm approached rapidly as he moved his body down, placing the flat of his tongue on her clit, immediately drawing another orgasm from her.
As their bodies stilled, the room filled with only the sounds of their heavy breathing, his moment of confidence faded as he thought about how tonight would be the night they gave each other their virginities, or purity as he was raised to call it. He knew Luna loved him, but this was a big deal to him, to give themselves to one another. Despite the months that had passed, he still struggled at times, wondering if he would ever feel worthy of someone as good, as her.
He was startled by feeling warm delicate hands on either side of his face,
“Where did you go, Theodore?” She asked him, her eyes glistening and without a trace of judgment staring back at him as shame took over his conscience, sending him into a panic about how he had just ruined the mood with his panicked mind. He pulled his fingers from her cunt and she whimpered softly, placing his hands atop her on his face. With a pained sigh, he admitted
“I don’t want you to regret this, Lu.” His hands begin to shake as he closes his eyes, afraid for her to see his shame.
He felt a soft kiss against his lips before hearing her whisper, “Do you want me?” He could hear the hesitation in her voice, and he hated that once again he had made her doubt his desire–his need for her. “Of course I do Lu, but things will be different after this. Our bond will be complete, I just want everything to be perfect for you. You’re it for me, and there’s nothing more that I want than to do this with you.”
Taking the hand that was still soaked with her come she popped his fingers into her mouth with a moan before releasing them, guiding them to her face once more, “Do you trust me?” She asked him with a devilish grin. What a pointed question he thought but he nodded his head yes, of course, he trusted her. “I trust you with my life, Lu.” Her smile spread across her cheeks as she began to move him until he was seated on the bed against the headboard, “I need you to trust me, Theodore. Please.” He gripped her hips, admiring the way his olive skin contrasted against hers, the way his palms took up each side fully.
“I trust you Lu, I love you.”
He pulled her in for a bruising kiss as he felt her grip his cock, spreading the precome down his shaft, and beginning to stroke. Her touch turned the magic in his body into sparks, his hands steadying from his tremors; stopping entirely when he realized she was moving to straddle him. Without thinking he took one of her hands, covering it with a pool of his spit before guiding it back down to his cock, spreading it all over. Luna surprised him as she always did, and knew exactly what he needed, she always knew .
As soon as he felt the head of his cock notch her entrance he thought he was going to come right then “Merlin Witch, you’re so tight.” She giggled slightly at his confession before mumbling a lubrication charm “Theodore I love you but sometimes you need a bit of a push.” Her phrase was cut off by a moan as she took another inch of his cock. He was holding her up by her hips, not wanting her to take it all too quickly. He knew he was larger than average—definitely thicker than most, but they were made for each other. “Look at my perfect Witch taking exactly what she needs, you look so pretty stretched around my cock love. Take it all, it’s yours. Use me, Luna, take anything you need from me.”
Before he could say anything else Luna slid down the rest of his cock ripping moans from the pair. “I was made for you Theodore, see? I’m so full” He looked down to see the slight protrusion from his cock and a groan escaped from his throat. She began to slowly slide up his cock–unable to take his eyes away from where their bodies were joined. He slid his body die just enough to give them better leverage, a better view of the blood staining his cock as she made small short movements up and down– marking him with her blood. The sight of seeing her maidenhood covering his shaft ripped a moan from his throat and he knew wasn’t going to last long; her hands were now pressed against his chest as she picked up her speed, bouncing on his cock. He was mesmerized by her as she reached for one of his hands and moved it between them to rub her swollen clit as he left a trail of sloppy kisses along her neck.
“Not going to last long Lu, I want to see you come all over my cock love, can you do that for me?” His voice was laced with desperation as he continued his ministrations, only taking a few more motions of his fingers for her to come undone around him–it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Luna was glowing, his light; she was perfect.
His restraint was quickly fading as Luna whined “Inside, inside, please come inside me, Theodore. I love you.” Feeling his release before she finished those last three words, coming with a groan–her name on his tongue; he saw stars, felt lips crashing into his.
“I love you, I love you.” Tears streaming down both of their faces, bodies glowing from the sealing of their bond–visions of them dancing in his mind.
He repositioned his body down flat on the bed, Luna still on top of him, gently pulling his softening cock from inside of her, feeling their shared release sticky between them.
Maybe one day It’ll take –he thought to himself, imagining a small child with pale blue eyes and brown curls. Someday.
Everything had been worth it, everything he had endured led him to this moment.
The absence of his tremors shocked him, the only thing felt was their shared magic pulsing through his veins.
Lightly tracing his fingers across her back he whispered “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?” She adjusted herself to look into his eyes “A little sore, but honestly, I’ve never felt better. It’s like you’re everywhere, I’m never going to get enough of you.” How did he deserve her? The Gods truly blessed him by matching his soul with hers.
“I love you, Luna. You have every part of me, forever.” He kissed her forehead and he swore he heard her laugh before he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
“I love you too Theodore”
Theo dreamt of a cottage with a garden, Luna sitting in his lap as he wrapped his arms around her swollen belly as she whispered “I’m so glad we had this life together Theodore.”
The night sky poured into the dorm room, she was still lying on Theo’s chest, his arms wrapped around her waist. She was warm–the glow of their bond all around them. Tonight was their last night in the castle, and they had discussed their plans for after school deciding stepping away from Wizarding London for a while would be best for the both of them. Draco and Harry would likely move into Grimmauld together after school, with their wedding planned for early July she knew they would return for the wedding, and with the way Draco nagged her about them continuing their quality time together, they’d have to be somewhere connected by floo, posh Draco Malfoy couldn’t be told no, but she was glad to have found a friendship in him and now Harry by proxy. The four of them were their own little happy family–something Luna thought at one time she would never have.
Despite Theo burning down Nott Manor, the property was still his to do with what he pleased—so he sold it, not wanting to bring his family near his ancestral estate but they had enough money from that and what he already had that they did not need to worry about work anytime soon. They could go anywhere, do anything–together.
Her magic flickered at the thought of being able to live a slow life with Theo, they had been through so much together, and with neither of them had any success in finding a way to break the curse; they decided the curse was something that could be worried about later, if at all. The pair found comfort that they would always find one another again. In each and every lifetime.
Maybe one day they would change their mind; attempt to find a way to break it but the comfort that they had found each other so young this time gave them hope for a future together. The both of them had lost so much, that it seemed wasteful to them to not cherish what they had gained in finding one another.
It had taken them a while to get to this point–this point of acceptance of their fate, and the hard days were not over, the visions had not stopped, the both of them receiving little blips of their lives together in the past.
A young bride flinging herself from the cliffside upon receiving the news of her groom’s demise.
Small hands reaching out for a mother that would never wake.
Twin Headstones–a young couple taken before they had a chance to live.
An undelivered letter, a missed phone call; fate intervening every time.
But there was happiness despite the pain, every reunion sweeter than the last–more time than before. Luna knew they had time, just not how much but what she did know was that their love for one another transcended any measure of time or a scorned mother’s curse.
Their love; continuing a cycle of finding the other half time and time again was something so rare, there were constellations in their honor, but no one knew it was them.
Luna did, She always knew.
She nuzzled her face into the crook of Theo’s neck, basking in the way his smell soothed her. Closing her eyes, humming that tune—the one she knew belonged to them and drifted off to sleep. Her magic sent flickers of familiarity as she felt the rise and fall of Theo’s chest—their bond wrapping them in a warm embrace as they spent their last night in her dorm.
Red ribbon wrapped around two hands, one pale, the other olive.
The sound of the sea splashing against the rocks were the only sounds to be heard.
Pale blue skies met the deep blue sea, like we always do.
