5. We currently don’t know whether or not Miko is a glitch. In the event that she IS a glitch, nobody is allowed to try and use Miko to run Doom.

Chapter Text

1. No attempting to run Doom on your tech gauntlets.

2. No attempting to run Doom on BITT’s systems.

3. No modifying ANY of the technology in HQ to run Doom.

4. You cannot use a possessor glitch to “see if the human brain can run Doom”.

5. We currently don’t know whether or not Miko is a glitch. In the event that she IS a glitch, nobody is allowed to try to use Miko to run Doom.

6. The next person who brings a non-Hinobi Member into HQ for ANY reason will be placed exclusively on store duty for the next two months.

  • this one feels weirdly targeted towards me -Me_K.O
    • That’s because you’ve snuck two separate people into HQ on two separate occasions. Also I had to go and Mindwipe your older sister after the whole Crystal Crush thing -MitchFTW

7. Tech Visors are required at all times when on duty, especially when resetting any witnesses of glitch attacks. Miko may be immune to resets, but the rest of you are not.

8. Powerups are to be used responsibly and in moderation. Attempting to stack large amounts of buffs almost never goes well.

  • You give yourself way too many buffs and crash into a building at Mach 1 ONCE. -The_Scorekeeper

9. For future reference, Miko is immune to the following:

  1. Hinobi Memory Resets (Standard Power)
  2. Hinobi Memory Resets (Overclocked)
  3. Hinobi Memory Resets (The Heavy Duty variant used by Corporate)
  4. Hinobi Brain Scanning Devices
  5. Possessor Glitches
  6. Several Mind-Reading and Mine-Controlling Glitches including but not limited to: Psycho Mantis, Joseph Joestar, the Hollow Knight Dream Nail And Subnautica Mesmers.
  7. Psychic-Type Flunky Attacks
  8. Dating Simulators (Note: We still aren’t sure if this because of Miko’s immunity or because she identifies as asexual, but we’re putting it on this list just in case)

10. Before anyone tries it, nobody is allowed to expose Miko to the Radiance to see if she can contain it “Hollow Knight style”. Even if she’s shown to be immune to every mind-related thing we can throw at her, we’re not taking that risk.

11. As funny as it is to “Accidentally” reset Miko in front of other techs who aren’t aware of her immunities, you’re not allowed to use Miko’s reset immunity to prank other techs.

12. If the thought of something makes any of you giggle for longer than 15 seconds, you are to assume you are not allowed to do it.

13. Stealing glitches from other techs is not allowed. Simple as that.

  • We all know who this is targeted towards, and we all know he’s not going to follow it. -Zahra

14. None of you are allowed to make bets on the following:

  1. Miko’s gauntlet breaking.
  2. Beating “Impossible games”.
  3. Anything to do with Bergy. You all know why.
  4. Miko’s reset immunity.

15. Following last week’s incident, Mitch and Miko are not allowed to go against each other in Sock-Em Rockers, Dance Dance Revolution, Just Dance or any similar games without at least one person moderating. without at least one person playing alongside them. at all. Period.

16. None of you are to mention “The red joystick incident” around Mitch.

  • What’s the Red Joystick Incident? -Me_K.O
    • You don’t even want to know. -Zahra
      • I SWEAR IT WAS A REGULAR CONTROLLER! -MitchFTW

17. Armour skins are meant to be used for fighting glitches, not roleplaying as characters and making them fight.

18. 1984 Spengler Street is Mitch’s own area for reasons personal to him. Just as long as he keeps the place free of glitches.

  • Thank You. -MitchFTW

19. Nobody is allowed to bring up Tobias or Edmund around Phil, Mitch or Nix.

  • Who? -Haneesh
    • A couple of idiots who used to work here. Used to constantly ditch work for the Frosty Mart across the street. -The_Scorekeeper
      • Easily the best day of my life when they got fired. -MitchFTW

20. The next person who is found messing with BITT’s systems or files will be placed on store stocking duty for the next year. Or fired, depending on Phil”s mood at the time.

21. For the last time; Nix’s first name is Adam, not Greg.

22. Starting now, nobody is to refer to Hinobi as the “Men in Black”, the “SCP foundation” or the the “Odd Squad”.

23. If and/or when Inspector 7 comes to the store for any reason, all of you either need to be on your best behaviour, or not inside the store to begin with. No exceptions. Preferably the later.

24. 2̷̢̜̜̤̎̽̏̑͗͛4̶̛̠͓͍̘̤͑̔̓͋̐̈́-̴̛̩̺͇̺͖̼̪̭̝̯̞̟̱̇3̶̛͓̬͓̎̀̋͊̽͑͑̔̒͒̅̓͊͠3̷̱͔̺̯͓̥͆̊̿͘ͅ-̴̢̪̳͖͇̬͍̫̠͚̑̆̎̽̿́͌3̵̨̡͇̙̝͚͓̞̞̻̣͔̣̓̓̂̄͛̚͜͠͝4̴̛̰̅͒̂̇͌̿̒͆͂̑̕͠͝-̸̧͓͉̻͉͉̘̟̈̑͛̓̎͆̉̍̔̆͘͝͝1̵̨̡͉̠̼̠̺̲͖̹̈́̉͊͜ͅ2̷͕̽̑̽̌͒͠-̴͖̭̎͆͑̉͝͝͠2̸̧͔̘͇̝͈̗̋͗͆̈́̍̌͋̚̚͝4̴̲̳̪̒̆̏̾͆̓͗̊͆͘͝-̸̢̨̝̲͙͈̹̠͘2̸̛̤̼̺̙̯̝͉̹̦̓͐͆͗̔̇͊͂́̀̄͠4̷̧̛̳̣̠̙͎̠͖̼̬͖̹̪̒̈́͋̍̔̈͛̏̓̕̚-̶̧̙̱͇̺̳͍́̒4̵̨̯͉̮͙̖̱͓̟̹̫͎̝̟͚̀̂̋͐̀͝͠3̸̢͉̟̟̙͕̣̤̻̩̇͑̃͗̆̃̀̕͘͝͠-̸̧̨̡̭̗̮̥̜̳̯̼̞͕̃̆̌̑̈́͑̀́̒̅̀͆̕̚͝3̴̧͈̜̦̤̬̘̩͚̮͙̲͉͒̔̔̔͋̊͐̋̅̒͛̈̎͝ͅ3̷̧͖̮̹̮͈͇͔̜͍̹̰͈̗̍̐̉͂̍͘-̷̨̨̟̥̘̤̳̞̂̌̽̇̈̎͛̌́̕3̴̫̼͂̊̇̆͊̐̽͒̇̕̕͜4̸̎̃́͑̿͜ͅ-̶̩̝̞̣͉̖̘̰̟̥̐͗̂̌̉̐̇ͅ4̴̝̭̫͔̤̼̣̘͓͔̻͎̲̞͑̃̀̈̈́͒͆̄̔̆̚͝4̶̛̰͒͐̿̑͊̿̀͂͠ͅ-̵̪̥̥̻̜̜̌̎͗̒̍̽̄̓͝4̶̢̳̗̘͕͙́͆̆̅̃̊̐͂̽̌̓̇̆̚4̵̣̖̌̀̅̑̂͌̀̈́͊̂̎͌̕̚͜ͅ-̵̛̗̹͈̃͗͗̀̆3̷͈͇̳̼̌́͆̑́͑͌̃̈̈́͘͝4̴̡͉̻͚̖̭͖̽̍͑̍̑͊͌̕͜͝-̵̧̠̳̦͓̖̯̼̺̊̾̿̌̀͊̎̐̌̇̄̚͝͝1̷̧̢͇̜̼̪͐̀̔̉̄̊̔̄̍̈́͠ͅ2̶̣͚̻̞̙̲͒̇͒͋͆̈́̅̑̓̾̈̒̍͜͝-̴̯̟̗͍̗̬͕̭̗̗̤̦̭̹̟̃́͛̈́1̴̨͍͈̟̖̮̱́͒̿͒͗̈́̈́͛͛̾͋͘̚͘͠5̷̧̡̯͍̰̠͓̟͈̰̻̀̽-̵̺͙͙͔̫͎̜̖̜̑̂̃͌̿̔̕4̷̘͈̫̥͓̣͙̦̫̠͕͇͊̔̍̐͒̏̉̓͠4̴̻̖͓̜̟̥̭̯̖̩͖̖̥̀͊͆͂̓͒-̸̧̙̦̣̯̺̰̝̦̈́̆́̓̚ͅ4̷̨̨̮͕̜̗̩̩̀́̽2̴̢̲̭̿̄̈́̀̇͠͝-̸̧̪̭͕͕͔̟͋̀̒͜4̸̧͖̟̼̖͚̹͚̂͒͐̂͌͑̈́͘5̶̨̮̠̯͔̱̫̙̟̜̫̿͌́̽̆-̴͓̪̔̓͑̏̿̇̍͘4̷̜̜̪̬̣͍̫̹̖͖̠̖͈̟͐͊3̶̨̤̥͓͖͍̬̌̈̋̾̐͒͗-̷̧͎̞̳̭̬͋͐̿̆̆̆̕̚͘͜ͅ4̸̧̛̣̖͍̹̯͔̳̝̱̗͎̿͗̐̊̈́͑̀̍́̎̕͝͝͠4̶̹̣̭͙̈́̑̏̉́͘͘͝-̸̨̖͚̘͔̠̅̈̈́͛̄͊̽̎͛̈́̀͑͘͝͠1̷̧̛̛̞̖͈̠̤͕͎̼͇̠̫͛̑̂̊̐̈̃́̉̕͘͝5̶̝̘̲͋̕͝-̴̦̟̣͈̮̯̔͂̃̈́̏͌̌̅̇͋̓̊̈1̶̱͖̞͇͖̠̪͈̘̻͇̞̱̪́̄̌̓̐̂̀̒͝4̸̢̙̩̱̹̊͆̄̎̅͐̔̈̄̍̄̍͗͝

Chapter 2: Surprise! I made more

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

25. Glitches are artificially intelligent Plixel constructs created when Hinobi hardware malfunctions. They are not Aliens, Ghosts, Interdimensional Creatures or “Hoaxes made up by Hinobi to sell more gauntlets”

26. The world isn’t a simulation, Matrix-like or otherwise, and Hinobi isn’t trying to hide or cover up the fact that the world is a simulation. Stop it with the rumours.

  • Sounds exactly like what someone would say if the world WAS a simulation. -The_Scorekeeper

27. Overclocking tech is a dangerous practice that is frowned upon by the higher ups for a reason, not a toy.

28. “A possessor glitch made me do it” is not a valid excuse for anything.

29. Neither is “A copycat glitch did it”.

30. Neither is “Because the prophecy said so”.

31. None of you are “The chosen one”.

32. No more spreading rumours that the movie Pixels was the result of a data breach or a massive leak of Hinobi secrets. All theoretical “references” are purely coincidence.

33. Pixels also isn’t “Hinobi Propaganda”, “a documentary on the inner workings of Hinobi” or “Required viewing for new employees”.

34. Rule 34 has been removed because none of you can be adults for two minutes apparently.

35. Unless you’re on today’s night shift, you are limited to 1 highly caffeinated drink per day.

36. If you are injured during a mission, the designated medics in the team are, in descending order: Zahra, Mitch, Nix and then Bergy.

  • Why am I on this list? I don’t have any upgrades that can heal people. -Bergy
    • Zahra has gone through the most of the support tree and is the only one here who’s gone through the training to use the more advanced stuff, Mitch and Nix both have a few limited support upgrades and know first aid, and you may not have any real “healing” support upgrades, but you have a massive stockpile of low level glitch items including healing items. -Phil

37. An addendum to the previous rule: Remember that all benefits through glitch items, including healing, are temporary and cannot substitute for actual medical treatment, proper rest and Hinobi’s healing support equipment.

38. NO prank wars inside HQ.

39. If you can fit your head down the weapon’s barrel, you shouldn’t fire it indoors.

40. There is such thing as overkill.

41. If the mere thought of it costs the others sanity, you are forbidden from doing it.

42. NONE of you are allowed to recreate ANYTHING from Spec Ops Rising Revengeance.

43. A quick PSA: Remember to give the entrance portal 20-30 seconds to warm up before entering it. Using it before it has the chance to warm up can be dangerous, is bad for the machine and being partially stuck in the portal is just an embarrassing look.

44. No more spreading rumours that Hinobi is directly responsible for the “Video Game Movie Curse”.

45. Miko is only allowed to drive as a last resort.

46. Hinobi Tech Gauntlets are all-purpose tools designed to combat glitches. The Hinobi Power Glove is a failed controller from Hinobi’s early attempts at virtual reality. Yes, the Power Glove inspired the Tech Gauntlet. No, you cannot substitute one for the other. In either direction.

47. Bringing up the ongoing custody battle repeated stealing of Kodama between Phil and Joan is not advised, at least not within earshot of them.

48. Miko is not to be left alone with Helpy for more than a minute 30 20 seconds at a time.

  • What do you even have against Helpy? -Haneesh
    • That letter knows what he did. -Me_K.O

49. This shouldn’t need to be said, but this is a list of rules, not a checklist.

50. If Miko (or ANY Tech for that matter) turns out to be a glitch, please see “In the Event of a Tech being a glitch”. Any theoretical rules or guidelines involving employees being glitches will be added there instead of here.

51.  4̴̨̧͕̱̣͉͐̈́͒4̴̛̜̦̬̆̆̔̈́͋̑̆̓́̈́̓͝-̸̡̢̼̲̯̯̦̝͙͖̹̳̆͑̉́́́͐͗̈́̑̚ͅͅ2̶̡̗̗̘̠̳͇͙̼̝̫̰͈̃̿̌͗̇̽͑͝3̵̧̨̢̙͉̙͓̗̦̫̮̹̃̂̅̌̀̈́̐̑͋̈̚̕͠͠ͅ-̵̧̹̫̝͎̮̙̘͚̥̣̝̫͋͜ͅ1̶̡̧̢̜̺̹͎̟̝͚̰̃͌̐͑̑̈́̿̃̊̃̔͒͌5̴̙̝̩̦̊͑-̷̩̝͈̫̳̻̰̰̩̲̺̠͍͉́̍̆̃͂̀ ̷̣͑̐͗̀͐̐̀̒̕͝-̵̜̰̞͓͉̠̮͉̆̈́̓̄̅4̵̢̧̛̹͙̗̜͍̰̬̟̣̻̈͂̍̌̈́͛͗͘̚3̷̹̲̠͒̇͋̈͂̋̍̾̆͠͠͝-̷̛̹̗̤͚̺̣͎͉̻̖̹͛̾̈́̅̊̎̀̔̊̕4̷̨̨̥͎̥̤̤̅́͋̈́͑̀͋́̅̄͗̕͜5̶̙̲̉́̃̐̊̊̉͋͑͠͝-̴̧̢̼̺͉̯͔̳͍̞̙͔̠̖̊̒̃̍̈́͆́͝1̴̛̳̞͂̔͆͐̋̋́̊̌́͑̾͘2̷̧̻̲̼̝̜̺̱̣͎̣͛̆-̵̘͉̼̰̥̠̾͗͂̄͗̈́͒̊̀͗̅́̾͘͜2̴̢̢̤̬̻̳̯̩͇̝͚̮̘́̋̇̂̿̅̇̐͘͘͝͝͝4̴̧̻̳͇̩̞͇͉̄̓̈́̈́̊̿̐-̵̫̻͍͍̪̗̯̯̈́̈́̉̏̀̃1̵̬̣̣͉̜̟̟̔́̏̂̐̈́̉̀͜͝5̸̛͈͙͇̞̩̘̼̥̹̗̞̺̹̂͗̄̕̕-̸̨̖̠̗̼̣̈́̏̂͘̕1̸̧̛̭̬̼̩͍̻̳̯̙̤̝̩͖̽̎̇̽̊̐̈̔̅̔̽͜͝3̷̨̨̪̤̻̲͓͙̠̥͇̙̞̖̑̾͜-̸̤̣̫̮̻̲̩̤͎̯̰̪̖̣̮̾4̷͔̲͕̙̤̝̹͉̘̱̜̝̻̑̾̅̒̏ͅ4̵̝͌͒̓͌͑̂͛͝-̴̧̟̥̙͖̮͓̼̥͔̩͓̤̣̙͗̎̿̋̌̔̇̉̊̽̔̉̀͝ ̸̢̖̗̜̭̗͎̖̖̙̙̼͎̥͎͌̋̈́͂̆̓͌͂͂̉̍̑͝-̸̢̹͉̯͖̹͚͊͋̑̌̌̔̓͘̕͠͠ͅ1̶̧̣͖̣̙͓̬͖̩͔͙̪̽̾͒͛1̶̡͍̬̺̰̺̥̻̼͓̠̹̀͒̂̍̾̔̒̊͗̈́̀͘̚-̷̹̫͇͙̖̱̥̯̳̳̂̈̀̂̓̑̄̊͊͊̂̌͝͝3̴̛̛̙̤͊͐͘3̴̨̭̝̫͙̰̘̮͈̺͐-̷̛͓̭̑͛͐̃̃̍͂̂̓͋́͌͝͝1̸̼̾̑͘4̸̗̫͉͉̞̀-̴̢̙̮͓̯̣̣́́̓̄̾̍̿ ̷̱̋͐́́̆͆̏̽̄̿̓̍̕͝-̸̨̫̱͇͍̯̥̖̒̆̾̏̿̍̀́̋̇́̐̿ͅͅ2̶̡̞̺̠͓͕̐͗̄́̓3̸̖̯̥̬̪̭̺̽̔-̴̛̛͓̖̈́̀̏1̵̹̫̟͓̞̰̠̣̟͈͆5̷̘̬͉̮͖͇͈͐͜-̸̡̨̬̤̮̲̯̥̻̉̔̐̂͛̅͂̒̄̏̚͠4̸̢̩̦̜̦̭̻̪̺̜̭͔̣̟͈̏̀̊̋̄̋̾͌̏̅̔͛͘2̵͈͔̭̪͉̝̻̗̘̣̼̺͎̆̿̈́̀͐͜ͅ-̷̡̋̑͐͊͆̌͑̈͒̾̾́̍͘͝ ̵͉͒̈̿̔̿̈̽̓̋̂̓̃͒̕-̶̡̬͚̯̬̌͆̀͒͘͘̕ͅ2̷̺͕̰̗̈ͅ1̵̢̨̥̟̖̘͖̬̜͖̼̭̲̤̱͛̆̀̾̂̓̐́͂͒̃͂̋̚͠-̸̧̨͉̦͈̙̤̥̺̟̩̞̪͋̾̑̏͑͑̍́ͅ4̷͖̰̣̰̗̱͈̟̻̮̪̗̠̯͉̈́̇̆̆̍͋̀̑2̶̛̫̰͙̬͎̤̞̳̼̭̞͚͋̈̊̅͑̓̂̒̓̃͜͜͝-̷͔̬̲̖̗̖̅̄̚2̶̡̡͉̭̜̝͚͚̣̩̮̰̳̏̐͠ͅ4̴̼͕̯͙̤͋͝-̶̛̰̮͔̟̠̻̠̦̫̰͍̱̭͋̀͑͗1̶̨̧̝̬̙̙͍̥͒̃͋̊̀̅̅̿̚͠5̶̨̡̮̦͙͓̭̈́̋̐̕̕-̴̡̡̣͕̙̘̻͈̲́͑̍3̵͙̂̌̇3̷̤̳̝͕̬̩̰̋-̷̡̨̼̘̙̖̟̠̺̝̱̆1̸̳̦̤̝̙̺͍̑͗̔̋́̂4̸̧̧̨̹͈̻͓̙͖̺̣̅͗̍̌-̸͚͖͚̻͙̮̙̻̀̓̆̆̊͋͜ͅ ̷̡͖̼͇̤̥͓̤͎̱̝̾̑̓͌͐͛̄̒̚̕-̵̲̫̉͌̀̐́̽̍͋͛͑͛̕͘4̵̻͚̔̐̎̌4̵̬̇̈́̇̅̿́͂̍̑̓̌̈́̾̔-̵̡̛̯̹̗͖̉̑̐̂̍̊2̵̨͚̖̩̞̹̊͐̐̓̄͛͐̋ͅ3̷̢̙̺̼͇̬̥̩̞̥̑͐́̏͗͛̏͜͠͝-̷̧̛̭̤̲̈͒̎̎́̒1̴̧̫̮̰̗͖̗̬̿̿͗̍̓͛̍̑͑̀͊̔̾̅5̴͖̜͙͍̺͔͋͑̄́͛̓̽̈́̕͝-̵̛̥̳̖͎̼͎̭̲͔̱͑͊̽̀͐̈̅̕̚͘͜ ̴͖̠͍̉͆̈́̅̌͐̓̚͠-̴͓̹̮̂͆ͅ1̶̨͚͚̠̖͖̖̙͚̤͖͍͓̳̰̾̐̽͋̈̉̋̈̈̅̒͋͒̇͝3̸̠̣̻͈͛̂̌̒̓͜-̴̡̨̛̩̰̝̩̝̃̉̎͒̈̿̚͠4̴̪̪̹̙̤̱̭̰̪̰̻̮̺̻̻͂̃͊́̌̽̏͋̏̂̒̕̕͝͝2̶̛̗͔̤̂̽͗͊̕͘-̵̨̛̼͔̜͖̟̲̥̬̲̘̦͚̺͕̎̽̽̊̊̔͋̃̓͝1̷̛͈̐̀̾͒͊͊͗̒̚̚͝͠5̸̞͓͚͈̮̠̜͆͊̽͊͐̽-̷̻̜̜̟̬͉̺̦̺͕̞̻͕͓̽̅̉̍͒1̵̧̧͍̫̙̙͚͖̖͐̈͋͜1̴̧̨̧̜͖͎̳̜͙̲̇͑͆͒-̶̢͖̥̺̻͉͕͙̜͖̩́́̃4̵̨̡̻̭̪̜͍̳̳̣͓̖̖̈́̏̓́̋̐͋͆̒̓̎͊͋̎4̵̲̅͐̈̔̀̍̈̓̔̈́̓͌͊͘͝-̴̨̢̡̦̝̣̫̙̖͈͙̯͍̂̀̍̄̀̓̔3̴̛̞̓̈́͒͐̒̆̄͛͊4̶̻͐͌̿̈͑͋͊͐͒͂͑̉̉͝͠-̷̖̫̥̑̓͛̅͐̍͌͑4̶̢̢͍̰̠̩͔͍̠͓̹̹̝̫̈́͗̓̿͆̿̓͒̔̋͝2̷̼͉͕͎̍̍̊͊̌͋͝͝͝-̶͍̖͓̩̅̐́͆̉̓͐̍͊̓͠4̷̛̰͍̎͊̈̈́̆́̇͑̔͛̓̕3̴͕͎͕̥͍͇̙̺̺̯͎̻̜͙̓̓̽̄͊̓͌͘͜͝-̶̨̫̯͇͖̤͙̟̐̾͜͜ ̸̧̹̦͙͇̝̙̼̯͈̓̀̔̓͊͋̋͒́̍̇̆͜͝-̵̡̛͔̗̺͔̞͚̗̘͓̒͛́͒͂̎̊͒̔͊̓̋̓̋4̸̲̥͊̈́͛3̷̢̨͚̬̤̞̙͎̿̚ͅ-̴̞̰̳͔̭͖̖̩̯̯͇̗̜̙́͂̔̈́̃͛͐̊̇͌̌͐̕͝3̸̡̧͉̳͚͍͍̻͓͑͌̈́̓̕̚̕͝ͅ4̶̫̼̫̯͉̬̍̏̆̆̈́̉̅̌͜-̴̨͙̓͆̉̇̽͑̀̕3̵̮̬̜̟͚̯̖̬̰̦͎́͌͌̔͝͝3̶͕̯̟̖̼̤͙̜̯̙̻͖̥͒̈́͗̿̊͌̎̔̈͗̊̿͝ͅ

Notes:

I made another chapter of this.
Also, I went back and edited a large amount of the first chapter because I was never really satisfied with how it turned out. I think it’s much better now.

Chapter 3: I was never expecting to make another but here we are

Summary:

The reason I almost never add more to this fic is mostly because I DESPISE how hard it is to do the formatting. My notes app refuses to carry it over to here so I need to move it to word, then re-edit it, then move it again, then re-edit it again, and on and on until eventually it works. For some reason when I moved it from word into here it shuffled every bit of dialogue and I had to fix that.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

52. If the plan is extremely dangerous and/or illegal, perhaps consider changing the plan.

53. After “the incident”, Uno has been banned from the break room.

54. The following games are also banned for similar reasons: Twister, Sorry, Monopoly, Campaign For North Africa, New York Zoo and “Reset Roulette”

55. No attempting to perform an “akira slide” with the tech vans.

56. Companion Pets are a rare subtype of glitch that Hinobi is able to recreate as non-glitchy pets, projected by your gauntlets. Glitch items are the same but for objects and equipment. With a few obvious exceptions, you cannot tame a glitch.

57. Tameable Companion Type Glitches are typically tamed through whatever means they’d normally be tamed through in-game. Even if glitches consume electricity, You CANNOT tame ANY glitch by feeding it electricity. You are only making it stronger and more unstable.

58. Be careful when using any powerups that grant invisibility. Remember that invisibility means that no one can see you, including other members of your squad. Not being careful can result in collisions with teammates, getting hit by stray shots or worse, cars, and stepped-on feet.

59. To whoever keeps adding corrupted rules or scrambling existing ones, only a select few people have permissions to add new rules to this list.

  • But anyone can add their own additions and comments! -Me_K.O

60. Because i apparently wasn’t specific enough the first time, you cannot modify your tech vans to run Doom.

61. A reminder: Glitch items can be brought into Mapper Glitches without issue, even if your normal equipment runs out of power. However, taking a glitch item into a mapper glitch of the game it originates from may result in the item being permanently destroyed upon completion of the mapper glitch, as the glitch will attempt to treat any item made of plixels that it recognizes like it would any other asset of its game, regardless of if it has a root form or not.

62. An addition to rule 61: Taking companion pets into a mapper glitch is not recommended regardless of what game the mapper glitch is running. Their AIs are more complex than a glitch item and are prone to erratic behaviour when exposed to the glitch-hive-mind that mapper glitches contain.

63. Yes, Miko is immune to seemingly every mind-altering glitch we’ve thrown at her, which makes her extremely valuable when fighting mind-reading and mind-manipulating glitches. But, she’s also a low level tech with her own life and duties and you can’t just bring her in to deal with the problem whenever you’re forced to fight one.

64. A tip: Glitches with game mechanics involving weaknesses to crosses and in-universe religious symbols usually extend that weakness to just about any religious symbol or artifact as long as it’s decently well-known, not just crosses or in-game symbols.

  • Do you think glitches count my hijab as a religious symbol or would they just view it as regular clothing? -Zahra
    • I mean…. We could test it the next time a glitch like that shows up. -Haneesh
      • THEY DO!! -Zahra

65. With the discovery that glitches consider Zahra’s hijab a religious symbol and react to it like a cross or any other religious object, the same rules that apply to Miko and mind-effecting glitches in rule 63 ALSO apply to Zahra and any glitches affected by religious symbols and objects. She can’t be everywhere at once and can’t deal with everything for you.

66. You’re all going to leave Bergy’s quest grinding and low level glitch farming alone. Like it or not, he’s good at hunting down the weaker and lower level glitches, doesn’t mind doing it and while hunting down weaker glitches isn’t typically seen as the most fun or rewarding part of the job, it prevents them from going viral and forming more dangerous glitches, protects Hinobi’s secrecy and no one else in this store seems to be willing to do it in favour of hunting down the bigger things.

67. Variations of banned board games like Trouble instead of Sorry, Crazy Eights with additional cards added instead of Uno, and “Knife Monopoly” do not get around the initial ban.

68. Nobody is allowed to place bets on or related to Miko in Reset Roulette, including Miko herself.

  • As a REMINDER: That “game” has been banned from the store. See rule 53. -Phil

69. Rule 69 has also been removed for the same reasons as rule 34.

70. No spreading rumours that Nix doesn’t exist or rumours that he’s actually a ghost, mass hallucination, glitch, product of Bergy’s imagination, “Nameless without his helmet” or a customer that somehow wandered into HQ. He just has a second job and isn’t around as much. That’s all.

  • Have you ever seen the two of them in the same room together? Exactly. -Me_K.O

71. “I had to do it for the bit” is not a valid excuse either.

72. Neither is “20 dollars is 20 dollars”

73. Zahra has full permission to keep their hijab on during any event or situation that would normally require that employees remove headgear, including security checks, safety drills, ID pictures, medical checkups, meetings and anything else applicable. She also has full permission to deck anyone that messes with her hijab.

  • Thank you, but why is this listed here? None of the other techs have ever messed with my Hijab. -Zahra
    • This one’s more a notice to senior staff and management than anything. Figured I may as well put it in the official list of rules and regulations and not just the bottom of your employee file where people might not see it. -Phil

74. To whoever keeps hiding a mannequin around HQ, probably to mess to Miko, stop it. Immediately. I don’t know who’s doing it because it only seems to move when no one is looking at it, but I know that one of you is doing it.

  • I’m sorry the what now? -Everyone
    • With this new information, I’m putting a bounty on the mannequin glitch. Whoever finds and captures it gets 5000 xp plus however much it’s already worth. -Phil
      • Im sorry there’s a WHAT somewhere in HQ?? -Me_K.O

  • It’s all nonsense. The Errorhandler message is corrupted, the error code doesn’t exist, It’s all just garbage data. -Haneesh
    • I tried to delete it and it crashed my computer. Same goes for editing. If rules keep corrupting like this it might be a problem with the program itself. -Phil

Notes:

The New York Zoo mention is my own personal reference to a random Psychonauts 2 fic I read like 4 years ago that I’ve never been able to find again, but refuses to leave my brain for reasons I do not understand. Maybe now I’ve appeased it and it’ll stop flashing into my brain whenever I’m about to fall asleep.

Chapter 4: My desire to add to the funny rule book vs my hatred of how it’s formatted

Summary:

WHY CANT I ADD SUBLISTS! WHY CANT I CHANGE THE POSITION OR HEIGHT OF POINTS? WHY DOES EVERY LIST INSIDE THE LIST CHANGE TO AN ABC FORMAT? YOU LET ME DO THIS WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER! WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME AO3?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

  1. Miko cannot be used as “Glitch Repellent”. Her immunity does not work that way.
  2. Similarly, Bergy cannot be used as bait. Not because it doesn’t work, but because it just shouldn’t be done.
  3. Glitch Techs are graded and leveled based on XP gain from capturing glitches along with completing quests and acquiring achievements. Techs are NOT graded based on:
    • Equipment Destroyed
    • Top Speed
    • Height
    • Most Damage Dealt to a Tech Van in One Attack
    • Pranks on Other Techs
    • Civilians Reset
    • Net Worth
    • Collateral Damage
  4. It’s ok to ask for help. This includes requesting backup.
  5. Skate Boardin for the Hinobi 2600 does not count as a religious artifact. This applies to both warding off affected glitches and genuine worshiping purposes.
  6. The “Shrine” to Skate Boardin for the Hinobi 2600 must be taken down PERMANENTLY. Not moved to another location in HQ. Not taken down temporarily and put back up later. Taken down and LEFT down PERMANENTLY.
  7. Stay out of the vents.
  8. “I wanted to piss off Mitch/The Noobs” is not a valid excuse.
  9. Neither is “He had it coming”
  10. If Damien Ward or anyone else on the “Team Warden” section of the store’s “banned customers wall” shows up, Treat them like you would any other banned customer. Refuse Service, don’t let them grab anything off the shelves and calmly escort them to the door if possible. If they refuse or attempt to be difficult, contact Phil. However, unlike a typical banned customer: You must under NO CIRCUMSTANCES let Mitch get involved. Keep Mitch as far away from the store through any means necessary until they are gone. We don’t want a repeat of what happened last year.
  • Who and/or what on earth is Damien Ward?-Me_K.O
    • Some streamer that used to be a big part of the competitive Akedo scene a few years ago. Why is he banned from the store? -Hi_5
      • It’s a Very, very long story. Just know that that cheating hack is banned from any future tournaments and he blames me for it. -MitchFTW
        • Hey Mitch, Isn’t Ward that guy that gave you that controller a few years back? -The_Scorekeeper
          • I SWEAR ON SKATE BOARDIN THAT IT WAS JUST A REGULAR CONTROLLER!! -MitchFTW
  1. A slight addendum to rule 41: If something costs sanity from a video game perspective, like a sanity, stress or morality meter, Miko is either incapable of interacting with it or can use it for free without any risk of glitch-induced mental effects. This makes her the go-to person to handle and utilize glitch items with any kind of sanity cost as long as she’s careful with it and it doesn’t affect the techs around her. Again, remember that Miko’s immunity is not an excuse to neglect your own protection and she shouldn’t be brought in to deal with absolutely everything.
  2. Mitch and Nix are both forbidden from Monologuing.
  3. The phrase “Fight Fire with Fire” should not be taken literally.
  4. The phrase “Fight Ice with Ice” is not a real saying and also should not be taken literally.
  5. The approved method for taking out a pay-to-win glitch does not involve stealing Mitch’s wallet.
  6. Holographic Decoys cannot be used to get out of store duty.
  7. Despite what Mitch claims, Visor colour is purely cosmetic and new colours can be bought with xp or unlocked by certain achievements. It doesn’t provide any additional features or benefits, and it isn’t “given as a reward to the best techs in an area” like he claims.
  • YOU CAN BUY THEM??? I WANT A COOL PINK VISOR! -Me_K.O
    • Never gonna happen. -MitchFTW
  1. The correct way to deal with a puppeteer-type item glitch is to find and destroy it before anyone can attempt to equip it, remaining at least 6 feet away from the item to prevent it from attempting to force itself onto a host. You should not, under any circumstances, give it to another tech and say “Hey, try this on!”.
  2. I don’t care if Miko is immune to its control, it still laches on and won’t come off without significant effort. And the rest of you who aren’t immune have no excuses at all.
  3. You don’t need to do a lengthy transformation sequence whenever you change in and out of tech armour.
  4. Tech Vans do not have a “combine” feature.
  5. Again, STAY OUT OF THE VENTS.
  6. Miko is banned from the following substances:
    • Potions of Swiftness
    • The Blood
    • Shard Dust
    • TZP Inhalant
    • Plasmids and Gene Tonics
    • Jet
  • More will be added i’m sure. -Zahra
    • How did you even manage to get access to jet? Our gauntlets don’t let us recreate it because of fallout’s addiction mechanics. -The Scorekeeper
      • I may or may not have kinda… used a glitch item for that. Possibly. -Me_K.O
        • You WHAT? -Zahra
  1. Reminder that there is a large difference between Powerups and Glitch Items, and that difference is the presence of the root form and complete lack of any added in safety features. Do not use glitched powerups outside of mapper glitches, and ESPECIALLY do not consume any glitch no matter how powerful the effect it gives could be.
  • My everything hurts. -Me_K.O
    • You are SO lucky your immunity also applies to fallout’s addiction mechanics. -Haneesh
  1. The Answer is not “More Gambling”
  2. Saying “Praise the Omnissiah!” Doesn’t ward off glitches. Doesn’t usually damage religion-based glitches either.
  3. While we’re on the subject, please stop referring to Glitches as “Machine Spirits”. And stop calling Miko a blank while you’re at it.
  • I think I finally figured out why the last rule on every page is all messed up! There’s a tiny bit of code in here that’s bugged out and keeps taking in garbage data from somewhere else. Don’t know where it’s taking the data from or why, but that’s why these glitchy rules keep showing up. The Scorekeeper.
    • Looks like it’s supposed to be for something important, but it’s too corrupted to really tell? -Haneesh
      • Patched it. Couldn’t get rid of it without crashing the entire database, but I’ve added some workarounds that should prevent it if they are actually what’s causing the error. -Phil

Notes:

If I had a single second for every ounce of rage I feel trying to format this thing i would have enough time to write the next five chapters of HTSBD. Probably more.
